my final from last semester that i made into a zine. cooked this one up in a couple hours before the critique (the ink was still wet!), so it's very raw and kind of sloppy but the sentiment is there. i love you trans people of color. we are the backbone of this community 🌟

Despite everything (dreadful sinus infection) this year’s holiday postcards came out beautifully. 50%-30% black riso on Reich Papers Shine card stock in silver.

I will make a better announcement when I can get more photos in daylight, but these will be going out in December orders from my online shop (including all pending orders) for my ~*Winter Holiday Promotion*~ and also you can buy them buy themselves here.

#em draws stuff #oc time again hehe #middle school monk oc #for the oc archetypes game again!!#I was drafting some ideas of what bertrand looks like when he's older when I originally started the answer for this one #he grows into his face a little better and his quietness gets taken for being stately instead of awkward #but I couldn't figure out a composition that I liked so I just started messing around with regular bertrand and texture brush 4 again #been thinking about risograph printing but it's not as if I'm actually going to try that for real so I did an experiment with faking that #liking the big-eyed look lately it seems... but then again he is just a little guy. a little birthday boy even.#actually. now that I think of it bertrand and jerome are v. similar guys to me. cute little religion boys aren't they.#jerome is more chirpy but also he's got no choice but to Chat. whereas bertrand will never ever have adventures and that's ok.#took me a while and a while to realize this but then again I'm kicking it with jerome quite often these days #while I seem to draw bertrand like. twice a year tops.

pirate radio, december 2023 risograph printed in bright red and black ink

my final graphic design thesis project from about this time last year! i made a sleeve for a diy vinyl record (track featured by my friend aria @everlastingwife ^_^). this process was so much fun to experiment with!! on my first attempt, i tried to 3d print a record using a 3d model i generated from the wav file. this did not work because i didn't have access to any printers with a fine enough resolution — all of the grooves holding the audio information totally melted. for my second try, i used a subtractive process instead and badgered my department into buying the gakken toy record maker, which was essentially a tiny record lathe. the audio quality was total ass but it worked much better and was playable! lot of trial and error involved but i'm overall very satisfied with the final outcome :-] hope to make some cd mixtapes now that i no longer have access to that little lathe.

Awww that's so sweet! I assume you mean with the recent TOL fanart I've been doing? If so, great! I can break that down for you, if not, I'm so sorry dude lmao…

I was able to break it down pretty quickly into 4 big steps !

Sketch ➜ Values/Tones ➜ Color ➜ Texture !!

So let's start with this totally innocuous Jamie sketch that I did NOT just do for myself because I had a bad day today.

Now, I'm going to do one of two things with it, either lay down the values straight away…

THEN add the tones OVER that.

OR add the tones + values together, usually with a halftone brush!

I like to do the values in about 5 step increments, because after that we're gonna run it through the BOATLOAD of 5-color gradient maps I have on hand.

(if you don't know how to get to g.maps, on CSP its just a new correction layer away!)

From there we choose if we want to put a risograph texture over it…

or a paper texture under the whole drawing…

or something else totally weird and different!

I've honestly done it so frequently that I've streamlined it a bit to the point where I look forward to getting to this point bc I can experiment and go a little crazy lol !!
