We have finally passed the Black Rocks Belt, the same one where the eponymous beaches are located. I'm still amazed at the diversity of colours in this world; you didn't tell me they were so incredible! As punishment, you will have to hear me talk about these wonders for hours on our return.

The diplomatic expedition to Pearl Islands is going slower than expected, due to an unaccustomed troop crossing the Iridescent Fields, but we shouldn't miss the new Duke's enthronement ceremony nonetheless - I'll bring you back some opal seeds, I promise! In the meantime, these few detours allow us to visit the surrounding area: enough to get a head start on our "solo trip", so I'm not complaining ~ although Arch' insists that this one will be much longer and grander.

- note: although the whole idea of marriage is clearly not in the cards right now, ever since my disastrous pun about him being “my honeymoon”, he blushes every time I use that term! It still makes me laugh ~

You know me: I took all the precautions in the world, explaining to him that it was some kind of symbol, that we could both wear without signifying any kind of “acquisition” of one by the other (melting down the coins and metal that have attached us both to our roles for so many years, blah blah blah... who would have thought that his romantic side would rub off on me that much, hey? ), that it was in no way an obligation, that he could say “no” to me and come back later if he wanted to... However, he copiously reassured me that “he never wished to make the same mistake again”, before locking himself up in our room at the inn for an entire afternoon.
