hoping and begging that fabian in the bard classes this year and what we’ve seen of terpsichore so far means that we’ll get to see more of fabian dealing with some of his issues this season. i think brennan tried to set it up sophomore year after fabian’s No Good Very Bad Day in Leviathan, but all of the bad kids reacted SO poorly to fabian’s actual emotional state after that, that it never happened. i want a deeper dive into fabian and i want him to seek help <3 that’s all.

It’s hilarious to me that Aemond kicked Alicent out of the council and literally told her to go back to the kitchen right after that tiktok went viral that called Aemond of all people a feminist.
Compare with Jace saying in the same episode, “my ruler is my mother, and I do not wish it otherwise”.
Jace is EVERYTHING Alicent wished Aegon and Aemond was. A better son, a better politician, would’ve been a better husband to Helaena, a young man who has no problem leading the war council with his wife-to-be and defending her against Ser Alfred. I love that HOTD is completely destroying the whole “momma’s boy/mommy’s favorite war criminal” delusion that Aemond’s stans created.
“Aemond’s the most interesting one on this show” and he’s just every reactionary mass shooter using “bullying” in high school as an excuse for their atrocities (when, in reality, they were just nihilistic psychopaths). Nothing about Aemond is unique or disruptive. Misogyny is painfully boring actually, it’s been around for centuries. People just can’t accept interesting morally sound characters when they see one.
I wonder how that person who made that Jace would not be a feminist (as if any of the green boys in the show would?!) is feeling right about now? They'd probably say that Aemond kicking Alicent out is not sexist but he was just mad at her. Sure Fabian 2.0 🙄.
Now, Aemond does provide some funny moments here and there since "he undermined" Aegon with high Valyrian, but for me the stand out is more Aegon on the green side. I did like Aemond asserting against Jason Lannister's demands, that is very book!Aemond. It's like these two green boys are taking turns being their book selves, which is ironic bc people will claim that they are more interesting that their bk counterparts...baby, that's bc they are finally realized as what their bk counterparts would do!
Also, the greens have such stark and seemingly unique characters because the writes simply didn't develop the blacks very well for balance. They are all more or less pretty static, their motivations regressed or having stayed the same since S1.
So we perhaps need to separate "interesting"/"unique" and "solid characterization" from "morally bankrupt". Both tb and tg. TG tends to either explain how the greens are actually morally neutral or good or justified in some actions AND tries to make as if being "good" automatically boring, but TB seems to sometimes forget that we don't need characters to be morally neutral/ambiguous or good for them to be "interesting"--ironic bc Daemon is morally ambiguous leaning bad but is very interesting to many in TB and to locals...pre-Harrenhal arc. People can say Aemond & Aegon are interesting in the show, bc they do present more to think over...while Rhaenyra's writing is repetitive and verging on pathetic and nonsensical, esp when she slaps the Celtigar instead of Alfred Broome and keeps talking about how helpless she feels even after that. Jace, despite his deeds at the Frey's and the Wall, was also stripped of his Manderly and Jeyne Arryn stories. even with Cregan, they aren't friends and there is no Pact of Ice and Fire. We didn't even get Cregan's backstory in appropriate flashbacks that would have lended Rhaenyra/Jace's support base with a certain confidence in devotion and character! Baela somehow doesn't burn the greens she comes into close contact with...It's all just too underwhelming for the sake of "neutraility". And I don't have to say anything for Daemon, that I already talked about.
Example of "good & interesting": Dany is unequivocally a good person & a good ethical actor with good ethical motivations, but she's anything but boring.
@all-about-the-tea-parties brings up other nonvillains with nuanced and "fascinating" arcs down in the comments below!

“I got everything I wanted. My everything was you.”
Remus lupin
huge bust on keeping it under 500 for this one. Rem just does things to me, I can't help myself.
Tumblr media
Mr. Remus Lupin
Mrs. Y/n Lupin
Mr. and Mrs. Remus Lupin
You doodled on your parchment, quill moving effortlessly over the page as your brain repeated the phrases in as many different ways possible.
A few older girls, ones closer to Remus' age, must have caught a glimpse at your parchment as they passed by because one with stark raven hair stopped and laughed in your face.
Tumblr media
"Oh you poor naive little girl. Charity, look, this tiny tot thinks she's going to marry Remus."
Her friend, a curly headed blonde, laughed back before she spoke. "I wouldn't worry Margie. He's probably just made a bet with Sirius or something."
The one with dark hair, Margie, laughed again, a deep belly laugh, from her toes if you had to guess. "You are so right, Cher! Probably how long they can go before she realizes this was all just some joke on her. Well I'd love to sit and chat about Remus, really I mean who wouldn't, am I right? But we gotta scoot, we told Dirk and Fabian we'd meet them in the courtyard. Bye-bye." They both waved as if they weren't bullying you mere seconds ago and toddled off through the portrait hole. With a muttered 'Incendio' your parchment, littered with sprawling handwriting of 'Mr and Mrs Remus Lupin' burst into flames, leaving behind a scorched mark on the table.
Anyone that didn't know Remus would assume that because of his quiet nature he was shy, but quite the opposite was true of Remus. He was just as much a charmer as Sirius and James and he was easily as funny and laid back as Peter. Truth be told, Remus Lupin was the 'Casanova of Gryffindor'. At least according to his friends. He had any girl he wanted before you came alone and once you did come along he had you too. However when people looked at you they saw what they seemed to think Remus was. You were actually shy, not one to be outgoing outside of your strict friend group which consisted of Remus and his mates. It made you a bit of an outsider at first but you quickly became one with the group and they welcomed you with open arms. It was something you had been insecure about and if you were honest with yourself you still were at times but not so much anymore. But now that insecurity started to slip back in. What if those girls were right? What if this was just a game, a joke on you? Sirius and Remus had made a bet that if he could get you comfortable enough to come out of your shell and become friends with them they'd do something awful. Your brain wasn't even coming up with anything but you were sure it was bound to be atrocious and in front of the whole school, or at least most of them. Before you could stop yourself you were grabbing your belongings and making your way for the Gryffindor tower.
"Excuse me? Has anyone seen Sirius, James, Peter or Remus?" You're thankful your voice is above a whisper but not many students seem to pay attention. That is until Remus practically comes hurdling down the stairs.
"Oh hi, love. What's going on?" He stops in front of you. "Are you okay? You look like you're gonna cry." James, Sirius and Peter descend the stairs in a hurry but it quickly turns neat when they see Remus stopped by you.
"Rem, I need to talk to you. And James and Siri and Pete. Can you guys meet me in the room of requirement? Or we can talk in your room? I don't really mind where, it's just really important and I need to get it off my chest and-" You don't even realize he's leading you up the stairs as you ramble until you come to their door, graciously opened by James who steps back to allow you in first. Each of the boys takes a seat on their respective bed, waiting for you to sit with Remus and tell them what this is about but it never comes. Instead you pace around the room as you speak.
"So I was sitting in the library and I was writing, or more so doodling I guess bit I was- it's kinda embarrassing, you guys have to promise not to laugh…" You pause, looking at each of them.
"Swear, love." Remus makes an x motion over his heart.
"Promise." James and Peter agree.
"I'll try my best." Sirius says seriously.
You sigh and continue. "I was writing Mr and Mrs Remus Lupin-" Remus' eyes turn into hearts and instead of laughing Sirius thinks he might throw up at how cute that is. "And some girls your age saw and they started bullying me, saying I was just a poor naive tot and I wasn't going to marry Rem and that it was all a joke on me, a bet between him and Siri or something. And I just want to say that if it's true I don't appreciate it, being the but end of a joke." Finally you allow yourself a moment to breathe and all of the boys look at you with utter confusion.
"Baby, what?"
"Rem- Remus, don't do this. If this is a joke just, please, can we congratulate you for keeping it up for two and a half years so I can go? You can be with one of them. I mean obviously I'm nothing special. You can have one of them, someone who's rich, outgoing, everything you ever wanted." The tears in your eyes threaten to spill over but you don't allow them to.
"I got everything I wanted. My everything was you." He stands and takes your hands. "It's not a joke, at all, ever. I don't want rich and outgoing. I want shy and reserved except when you're around our friends. I want doodles 'Mr and Mrs Remus Lupin' on your parchment when you probably should have been doing your muggle studies homework. I got what I wanted." His lips are soft on yours when he kisses you and the tears finally come because you know he truly means it.

A Million Possibilities
Day 3, Story #1 is by @honouraryweasley12
Title: A Million Possibilities Author/Artist: honouraryweasley12 Pairing: Arthur/Molly Prompt: First Date Rating: PG Trigger Warning(s) (if any): None
"So, is today the big day?" Rodney sat down at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, clapping his friend on the back before grabbing a slice of bread.
Arthur Weasley stared down at his porridge, a sickly look on his thin face. He glanced slyly down the table at her, before returning to his breakfast with a sigh. "I suppose so."
"That's the spirit. The first Hogsmeade trip is at the end of the week. You don't want to miss the opportunity again, do you?"
"No, I don't." He'd badly wanted to ask her last year, but couldn't summon up the courage, fearful of the rejection. Over the summer, he'd resolved he would do it this year, but it was far easier to make those promises to himself when she wasn't so close, like she was now.
Rodney grinned. "Everyone knows you fancy her anyway, so you might as well get it over with and stop moping."
Arthur looked up at his classmate and frowned. "Thanks for the vote of confidence."
"What's the worst that could happen, eh? If she says no, you move on." He puffed out his chest. "We're Fifth Years now, we're practically adults. You've got to have some confidence."
Arthur shook his head and gulped. "I think it would be far worse if she said yes."
Just then, a boisterous laugh rang out from the end of the table, causing Arthur's head to shoot up and take her in.
"You've got it bad," Rodney remarked. "When do you think you'll do it?"
"After classes today. I hope I can catch her alone. That way when she rejects me, at least it won't be in front of her friends." The thought of it caused him to push the bowl away. "I'm suddenly not hungry."
"You'll be fine."
"I hope so." He suddenly stood up, needing a breath of air. "I'll see you in Potions."
Had he looked back, he would have spotted two pairs of eyes watching him with great interest.
~*~
"I can't believe how many assignments we've got. When are we supposed to study for OWLs with all of this extra work?"
"Mmm," was Arthur's reply, his mind clearly elsewhere.
"Did you even hear a word in any of our classes this morning?" Rodney asked, a smirk on his face. "Or were all your thoughts on one Miss Prewett?"
"Shut it," Arthur replied through tightly pressed lips. "Someone might hear."
"Too late for that."
The two boys spun around, only to find the identical grinning visages of Fabian and Gideon Prewett. Arthur gulped; the two Seventh Years were known for their magical prowess.
Fabian motioned to Rodney. "You go for lunch; we want to have a quick chat with Mr. Weasley here."
Rodney wished him good luck, and hurried off.
Gideon threw an arm around the younger boy's shoulders, even though they were about the same height. "We understand that you fancy our little sister."
"I-I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't play dumb with us, we know you want to ask her to Hogsmeade. You really shouldn't talk about such sensitive things in the Great Hall—you never know who might be listening."
Arthur knew his charade was pointless, his shoulders slumping. "I was planning on asking her. But you don't have to worry, I don't think she'll say yes."
"That may be, but we were coming to warn you about her."
Arthur pulled out of Gideon's grasp, affronted. "What?"
"Don't misunderstand us, we love our sister and would do anything for her, but she has a very… strong personality. We came to warn you not to get bullied by her. She can be rather overpowering, downright scary even."
"But you're two of the most powerful wizards in the school."
Fabian smiled. "Yeah, but we can't exactly duel our little sister every time we get into a sibling argument. There's actually very little we can do when she's made her mind up about something."
"That's one of the things I like about her, that she is very strong-minded, not to mention caring, and beautiful." Arthur was smiling but was broken out his thoughts by the gagging sounds the twins were making.
"Look," Gideon said. "You seem like a nice enough bloke, so we'll leave you to it. I will say this though—if we do hear anything about you being less than respectful to our sister, then you will have to deal with us. Do you understand?"
Arthur nodded quickly.
"Oh, and don't tell her we said anything. It wouldn't be good for any of us. Now, hurry along."
They watched as the lanky redhead turned the corner.
"Poor bloke," Fabian remarked. "He has no idea what he's getting himself into, does he?"
"He certainly doesn't."
~*~
"What was that about?" Rodney asked as Arthur flopped down and let out a groan.
"If the asking wasn't bad enough, now I have to worry about those two."
"Well, you can't be surprised, they are her older brothers. I hope it's worth it."
Arthur happened to look up, and that moment, caught Molly's eye. She flashed him a quick smile, but all he could do was grimace awkwardly before looking away. He missed seeing the flash of disappointment on her face.
"She's definitely worth it. From all the time we've spent together in class, or studying, or even just chatting in the Common Room, I really like her company. I just don't know if I can ask her out without losing my lunch."
~*~
Arthur exited their last class of the day with great reluctance, knowing that his time was up. As he walked to the Great Hall for dinner, he spotted the object of his affections walking in front of him with a group of her friends.
He felt a nudge against his shoulder from Rodney. "Now's your chance."
"Here goes nothing." Arthur took a deep breath. "Molly?"
She stopped and turned, giving him a smile before signalling to her friends to go on without her. Rodney sped past them as well, nodding at Molly before disappearing down a nearby stairway.
She patted her hair before addressing him. "Yes, Arthur?"
He surreptitiously wiped his hands on the back of his robes, before running a hand through his ginger hair. "H-how are you?"
"I'm well, thank you. How are you?"
"I-I'm fine."
There was a long pause, but Molly's encouraging expression was enough to spur him on. "As you know, there is a Hogsmeade trip coming up. Sometimes, that is, some people like to go to Hogsmeade with other people, not their friends."
He knew he was babbling now but couldn't stop himself from getting flustered. "I thought maybe that could be something you might be interested in."
She let out a small laugh, her cheeks rosy as she placed her hands on her hips. "Arthur Weasley, are you asking me on a date?"
"Yes, I am. Molly, will you go to Hogsmeade with me?"
"I would be delighted to. In fact, I've been hoping you would ask for some time."
Arthur was incredulous, his eyebrows flying up. "You have?"
"Yes, I have." She reached out and squeezed his forearm, letting her hand linger. "I thought I had been rather obvious in my attempts to flirt."
"Oh," Arthur blushed. "I assumed you were just being friendly. I did almost ask you last year, but I didn't think you'd say yes. Blimey, I didn't think you'd say yes now!"
"You had nothing to be worried about. You've always been sweet to me, and I've noticed."
He grinned at her, relieved to hear her say so. "So shall I meet you in the Common Room on Saturday morning?"
Her joyous expression mirrored his. "That sounds lovely."
He let out a breath. "Great! I'll see you then." He didn't know what possessed him to do so, but he stooped down and kissed her gently on the cheek, before walking away and smacking himself on the forehead.
The red in Molly's cheeks deepened, and she lifted a hand to her face, letting out a sigh of her own. Saturday couldn't come quickly enough.
~*~
He watched in awe as she descended the stairs into the Common Room, her flaming red hair pulled elegantly over her shoulder. A thin coat and a nice jumper were perfect for the fall weather, and she wore a long, loose skirt to complete the outfit.
"You look wonderful," Arthur complimented her as she reached him.
She beamed. "You don't look so bad yourself," she replied, sliding her arm through his. "Shall we?"
He nodded, dumbstruck that he was going out on an actual date with Molly Prewett. From the corner of his eye, he saw Fabian and Gideon watching the two of them, and he quickly looked away.
He was nervous but found making idle chit chat with her as they walked into the village to be rather easy. As the minutes ticked away, he felt himself getting more and more comfortable. It certainly didn't hurt that every few minutes she gave him a cute smile or laughed at one of his jokes. He felt drawn to her.
"Would you mind if we stopped at Scrivenshaft's?" Molly asked, breaking him out of his reverie.
"No, of course not. Running low on quills already?"
"No, nothing like that. I wanted to get some yarn. I took up knitting over the summer and want to continue practicing. I made this jumper, in fact."
"You did? That's incredible! I was admiring it earlier."
"You were admiring it, were you?" She winked at him, causing him to flush. "I'll just be a moment."
Arthur wrung his hands as paced outside of the shop, taking some deep breaths. Everything was going pretty well in his estimation, and he still couldn't believe that she seemed to like him as much as he liked her.
"Miss me?"
He nodded, reaching out a hand to take the bag from her. She grabbed his other hand and their fingers locked. He looked down, and then looked at her.
"Is this alright?" She asked.
He nodded again, and smiled, giving her hand a gentle squeeze which she returned. It seemed like a big step, to be holding hands so that everyone could see, and yet it felt right.
Molly's cheeks were glowing, and her eyes were sparkling. "Where to next?"
"I thought we might sit down somewhere. How about Madam Puddifoot's? It'll be quiet there. If that's fine with you, of course?"
"That sounds perfectly fine to me, Arthur."
The two walked through the village, enveloped in a bubble of giddiness. Arthur kept looking down at their joined hands. He already knew he was smitten with the red-headed witch.
The décor of the establishment was far simpler in the fall than at other times of the year, like Christmas and Valentine's Day. They were quickly ushered to a booth in the back and took their seats, facing each other. Once they settled in, Arthur took her hand in his again, resting them on the tabletop.
"This is nice, isn't it? Just the two of us?"
"No meddling family is a nice change, though it wouldn't surprise me if my brothers were in the next booth, listening in."
Arthur peeked at the next booth over and saw a couple snogging. "Don't worry, we seem to be safe here."
"You know about my brothers. Tell me about your family, what are they like?"
Arthur launched into a few tales about his family, which seemed to enthrall her before they were interrupted for their order.
"We don't have much, but we get on quite well."
"That's nice to hear. Some of my more distant relations on the Black side are quite… eccentric in their views of certain things."
"Oh, me too. I have some relations in the Black family, but we're not involved with them. I've heard their ideas on Muggles are rather disturbing."
"You're quite interested in Muggles, aren't you?"
"Oh yes," Arthur replied. "I find them absolutely fascinating, the way they come up with creative ideas and make things to make their lives easier without magic. They seem to come up with a million possibilities to solve a problem. Did you know American and Russian Muggles are trying to fly to the moon? Imagine that! I don't think wizards and witches would ever contemplate such a thing."
"It's rather cute to see you get so excited about it. Most wizards wouldn't."
"I know most people in our world would find it silly, but it is really interesting to me. I wouldn't mind working in Muggle Relations one day. I'm aiming for an Outstanding in my Muggle Studies OWL."
"Oh, don't remind me. I'm not looking forward to sitting those. It's going to be a difficult year, isn't it?"
He squeezed her hand. "Well, the year has started out brilliantly."
She waved him away but couldn't hide her pleasure. "I never took you for such a romantic."
"It's the truth. I've been hoping for this for awhile now. I've known you for four years, and I've fancied you for at least half that time."
She looked at him curiously. "There's something I've been meaning to ask you about that. I know I'm not the prettiest girl in our year, and I know I have a reputation of being somewhat bossy and strong-willed. Those don't seem like typical qualities one would be looking for."
Arthur grabbed her other hand in his.
"I happen to like the fact that you speak your mind and have your opinions. I've also seen you helping the younger students, and you're so generous and caring. I think those are especially important qualities in a person. I don't know what it is, but I feel so comfortable around you, like I can be myself."
"That's very nice to hear."
He leaned forward. "I also happen to think that you're quite fetching."
"You're a charmer, if I've ever met one."
"I'm serious. You are the prettiest girl in our year. At least to me you are."
She scoffed and shook her head. "I'll take your word for it."
At that moment, their server arrived with their tea and snacks, forcing them to let go of their hands and end their conversation. After a few bites, Molly continued.
"What did you get up to in the summer?"
"Well, we can't really afford to go on any fancy trips, but my family has a plot of land out in the country, near Devon. It's nothing special, but it's ours. We spent a lot of time there, cleaning things up. There's a small house on the property, so we fixed that up as well. I think my parents mean for me to have it when I'm older."
"Oh, isn't that nice! It sounds like a wonderful place. It must be beautiful out there."
"It's very peaceful. It seems like a nice place to raise a family. Not that I'm insinuating—" He dropped his fork with a clatter at that moment, causing her to giggle.
"You are a surprising one, Arthur. In a good way, though. I don't know of many sixteen-year-old boys who are thinking about such things."
"Oh, well, I guess I am a little bit odd then. I think it would be nice to have a big family one day, lots of little red-headed children running around."
"Who said they would have red hair?"
"Well, we both—" His eyes popped open, and he choked slightly on the scone he was eating, before gulping down his tea.
"Do you usually plan your entire future on your first dates? Is there a proposal coming?"
He shook his head, mortified. She let out a laugh and grabbed his hand again, entwining their fingers. "I'm only teasing."
After he recovered his wits, he couldn't help but respond. "I guess your brothers aren't the only troublemakers in the family."
"Certainly not," she replied, eyeing him mischievously while taking another sip of her tea.
They bantered on, talking about school, gossiping about their friends, and complaining about their teachers. The conversation flowed naturally until Arthur noticed other couples drifting out of the teashop.
"I think it's getting late; I suppose we should head back to the castle."
"Yes, we wouldn't want to get detention. Though I wouldn't mind it if I got to spend it with you."
As Molly finished up her tea, Arthur signalled to the server that they were done. After proudly paying their bill, he clasped Molly's hand again and led her out of the shop.
He peered around for a moment before setting off through the village, swiveling his head every few seconds.
"Arthur, is everything alright? We still have plenty of time."
"Y-Yes, of course."
"Then why do keep looking over your shoulder?"
"Oh… I don't want to say."
"I'd really rather you did."
Arthur stopped and sighed. "Your brothers threatened me if I did anything disrespectful toward you."
She frowned. "Those brothers of mine are going to get a piece of my mind. I'll have you know that I've had a lovely time, and you've been a complete gentleman."
"That's the problem, you see." He smiled down at her. "I would really like to kiss you right now… and not on the cheek this time."
"Don't concern yourself about Fabian and Gideon, I'll take care of them—and I'll decide what is disrespectful. Now, are you going to kiss me or not?"
He pulled her to a secluded area, away from the prying eyes of the other students. Cupping her face with his hands gently, he pressed his lips to hers. She responded and deepened their kiss, her arms wrapping around his narrow waist. It was bliss.
After they broke apart, they shared a smile and resumed walking back to the castle, hand-in-hand.
"Molly," he stated suddenly. "Will you go steady with me?"
"Go where?"
"Oh, it's a Muggle term. Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
"Yes, I would like that very much, my boyfriend."
His laughed bubbled up, unable to hide his happiness at the prospect. He was walking on a cloud as they made their way through the castle and up to the Common Room.
He realized his mistake too late, forgetting to drop her hand as they entered through the portrait hole. The were immediately set upon by Molly's twin brothers.
"What do we have here?"
"Well, you see—" Arthur began, only to be cut off by Molly.
"Arthur is my boyfriend now, no thanks to you two. Any attempts to threaten him in the future will be met with… a response. Do I make myself clear?"
Arthur was amazed at her gall and was even more amazed that they cowered at her words. If he wasn't already completely taken by her, that would have done it.
The two looked thoroughly chastened and agreed.
"Right then." Molly reached up and deliberately kissed him on the cheek in front of her siblings. "Thank you, Arthur, dear. I had a wonderful time. Shall we go study in the library? I'll go get my books."
He nodded, giving her hand a quick squeeze before they separated.
"Arthur, dear?" Gideon said after she left, his face screwing up in disgust. "I hope you're looking forward to a lifetime of that, Weasley."
That didn't sound so bad to him. He suddenly felt like the Muggles he was talking about earlier; it was like he had a million possibilities—now that he had Molly in his life.

Ok so I wanted to fo this for a while now but ive been thinking of how I word the entire thing. I hope it makes sense and nothing contradicts itsself. Please excuse my bad writing.
⚠️Tw for Abuse/harm/blood⚠️
So here is Victor Bellman his story for my Human Ln Au:
Victor was one of 5 Children in his Family. Born in 1953 he is the youngest from his Siblings and the last child his Parents Veronica and Albert Bellman had. They were very Wealthy, had a big mansion with nannys butlers and more. They also had a big yard with pool that they could play in.
His Siblings consisted of James, Rick, William, Fabian and him. They were always spoiled by Veronica and Albert but Bellman was left out. Basicly the runt of the litter. They spoiled the other 4 but punished Victor for the smallest and dumbest reasons. When he was just 10. It was always ,,we never wanted you" or we dont care about you" or ,,you are a mistake" despite that he still tried to be polite just like he was taught. He got locked in his room. His butlers brought him food and let him out for showers and the bathroom.
In school he didnt have many friends. He was bullied for being ,,wierd" even tho he was just a well dressed, well mannered young man. Other kids also thought he was a ,,teachers pet" a few of the teachers in his school were nice to him and cared for him. When he came to school with scars or a black eye he would always be asked if everything is ok but he would say yes. If he told them they would have hurt him even more. Family members, teachers, neighbours they all knew, but Victors Parents always threatend to hurt him. He went to a diffrent school then his brothers. His grades were alright. He couldnt do any better because all of the abuse got to him or he slipped a bunch of times and got worse grades. At 16 years old he was 7 feet tall in high school. He also got exspelled from his old school because he beat up another student. That guy bullied him and he snapped. Eventho he got into a lot of trouble by that time he was so cold inside from the abuse that he didnt care about it.
He graduated from the other school when he was 19. Victor could have had a job and everything but his parents still locked him in his room and then just forgot about him. They were too focused on his brothers. All of them got a job, even thier own familys later.
Victor was only cared for by mainly Butler Regi who was there since he was little.
Now here is the thing. His parents still locked him in his room. People would ask why he didnt just escape trough a window or sneak out? They were cameras everywhere in the house and in his yard. Plus he didnt dare to try.
The torment continued. Sometimes they would just beat him for fun. That included cutting with knifes, belts, with fists and one time a Machete right in his shoulder. The wound got badly infected since he wasnt even allowed to go to the hospital. After a while he couldnt move that arm anymore. He was covered in blood too. His Parents told everyone that he had died in a horrible accident.
With the age of 20 Victor got locked into his room and was forgotten up until he waa
Victor had to stay in the hospital for a good month. The infection from his shoulder spread more and because so much more. After his release he still has to go to a psychologist. Even tho he doesnt want to. He also got himself a job as a bellhop in a hotel that an agency offered him. He thought it was interesting so he took it.
There he has younger coworkers around him between the ages of 20 and 30. He was a bit fond of them and didnt like them at first. But after a while they got to meet each other a bit closer and became friends with each other.
A year later he met Roger who had to stay at the hotel because his house got burned down. They both didnt like each other at first . But just like his Coworkers he had to know him better. what do you know they became friends and later fell in love with one another.
So he did have a somewhat happy end but still his Past will haunt him for ever. As for his Parents since there was more then enough evidence and so many witnesses they both got a life sentence.
Now I want to end the entire story with a small fact:
The entire time Victor was locked in his room he wrote a diary that he even considered publishing. But he scraped that idea since names were mentioned, alot of very private things were in it and he thought about if it was morally ok to do it. He still hasnt decided.

I'll be honest,if the weasley kids had a tv show I would have percy as my favourite. Bill aand charlie arent in it so I wouldnt have an opinion (they're obviously hinted at but never there) Arthur's gonna annoy me kinda, molly is really nice but she always compares her kids. Ron (as lovely as he is) can be really mean to percy and just sucky to him. I love Ginny but everyone knows jk made her because "girl power= not feminine traits!1!1!1!" I love her,I love her love for quidditch but I feel like I still clearly see what she represents and that's jks sentiments (like cho for example, as an asian it's never gonna leave my mind). The twins would be great in theory but 2 twins insulting their older brother, burning a hole through their brothers tongue? Pranking everybody ALL THE TIME? I say I love them but seriously if I studied at hogwarts I would loathe them because hey, were in class- prank somebody in a more boring one or after. Also they're way too mean to percy.
Percy is the kinda dude I'd identify with, I hate how his family shames him alot. Sure hes ambitious but at the same time I hate when they bully him for his pride in his prefect badge and his head boy badge, like CMON! Gryffindor traits??? PRIDEFUL like yeah hes gonna be happy because he feels accomplished. I remember getting into model un and I talked about it at dinner time,my siblings got kinda annoyed but did they insult me abt it? No! They understood that this was a big part of my pride. They teased me a little "Haha model un-er" or "your rooms the country your representing right? Oops I dont have my passport" regular happy sibling stuff. You dont insult your brothers pride and joy, it's obvious hes so happy about it.
If there's gonna be a show on the Weasley family, the only interestee Weasley I would be watching is for Percy. Now let's go through every Weasley.
Arthur- at work, never home, if at home in shed exploring muggle things instead of probably bonding with his children.
Molly-would do chores, help children and maybe chat with next door neigbour. A slight chance of bonding with kids. Not very entertaining really.
Bill and Charlie- I mean depends whether they're even there or gone. If they're there they'd probably argue with each other. Maybe we'll get the Bill earring story and Charlie dragon obsession. Other than that maybe sibling bonding which is always good.
Twins- I cannot emphasize enough as to why I wouldn't watch the twins, if there was such a tv show. Each episode they'll probably prank someone most probably Ron and Percy. And then these pranks would get violent and physical and they would still be the saints and Percy the villain.
I mean the twins cause Ron's phobia, almost make him take the Unbreakable Vow (Ron was 5!) and then beat his Puffskein to death.
AND PUFFSKEIN IS AN ANIMAL.
And that's only Ron. If I start on Percy the jokes are endless but let's just end with the twins tried to locked Percy in a pyramid( God knows how old!). Enough said.
Ron- We already have Ron content in the book. Do we really need more? Yes we do but not if it's Ron insulting Percy. And if this show was before Harry and Hogwarts then Ron would be a young child like 9-10 years old and I personally wouldn't be interested. I love Ron but he loses absolutely no moment to insult or bitch about his brother. Plus Ron is whiny. Sometimes.
Ginny- They'll probably make her a Mary Sue who can do no wrong. They would seriously do that and make her a female version of the twins. Sorry not interested in watching her.
When we come to Percy there are so many things we can do. We can see bonding with Bill or Charlie. Percy being a good older brother and helping with nightmares. Percy being his mother's support system. Percy helping Arthur with his work. Percy teaching Ron chess. Percy planning a prank with twins. Percy playing dolls with Ginny.
With Percy you can relate him to everyone in some way or another. We know Molly loves Percy and probably considers him her favorite. Probably. Arthur with the Ministry so Percy and Ministry. Percy going to Bill with help for studies. Percy helping Charlie research about dragons.(Percy telling Charlie his dormmate is crazy about quidditch and asking if Charlie could give him tips and an autograph)
Percy playing chess with Ron. We know Percy is protective over Ron and Ginny. So we can assume that Percy teaches Ron chess and helps him read. Percy reading to Ginny about Harry Potter.(Really though who else would have? Molly would be busy and Bill and Charlie wouldn't)
Or we can have Percy writing stuff. Short stories and articles. Percy being a writer. Percy singing , dancing or drawing. Percy sneaking to Muggle town and talking to them.
Percy finding Scabbers.
Percy going to the Lovegood residence and talking with Luna's mother because she is such an amazing person.
(And taking her death the hardest)
Also Percy bonding with Luna.
Percy bonding with Uncle Billius or Great Aunt Muriel. Also reminsing time with Uncle Gideon and Fabian.
Percy having babysitter called Lily Potter who looked just like him but with bright green eyes. She reads to him about adventure stories and tells him she loves him very much and once brought her husband with her(who's an animagus!)
(While his brothers rejoiced the fall of You Know Who, Percy cried because Miss Lily and Mr James were dead. That was the time Percy realised that bad things happen to good people)
Well to put it in short there are so many angles with Percy which makes him interesting in my opinion.
If they do make let's hope they don't screw Percy over like they did with him in that damn game.
Also for that Percy interacting with Muggles there's an interesting fanfic called Percy's Diary.
https://m.fanfiction.net/s/7542632/1/Percy-s-Diary
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Percy is the only Weasley who I can relate to which makes me love him more. I am an elder sibling, have been constantly insulted by family and friends for following rules and very rarely been put down for being excited for something.
And the whole making fun of Percy is bullying when they're laughing at him and not with him.
These 2 prepositions make all the difference when it comes to teasing and bullying.
And the twins are bullies. They are.
"Oh, are you a prefect, Percy? You should've said something, we had no idea."
This is one of the lines they say.
How much do you want to bet that the twins didn't say something like this to Bill when he became prefect and HeadBoy?
Percy was a constant butt of their jokes and pranks, including bewitching his prefect and Head Boy badges to read Pinhead and Bighead Boy respectively, and sending dragon dung to his office at the Ministry.
This is from the official wikia. People can try to make the twins saint and say it was all good natured and everything. But I will always see the twins as bullies.
And the thing is the twins and Ron never bothered to praise Percy and that just feels wrong. Everytime they talk about Percy it's qn insult. When I talk about my brother to an acquaintance I don't insult him unlike Ron.
I feel that as Percy fans we love him because he is complicated. He isn't like the rest of the Weasleys. He isn't charming or funny. He's just a normal guy trying to do better and Percy fans get it because it's relatable. We can relate to being ordinary. He doesn't have earrings or pranks or a saviour best friend. He's just a guy who follows rules and wants to be successful. Who wouldn't relate with that?
And maybe some of us have been ridiculed just like Percy so we understand. We also understand that this is Harry's biased view and all he has been told about Percy is usually by Ron or the twins who insult him on a regular basis. And Harry is no better! He uses words like pompously like he understands how a person talks pompously?
So I love Percy a lot because I relate to him and I would never in my life apologise for loving such a complicated character.

Leave a “Tell Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about my character confessing something to yours [be it a love confession, a secret, feel free to specify.] @starbrightblack
Peter had backed himself into a corner. There was nothing left, now. Nothing left to save him, nothing left for him to lose. It had already all been lost at this point, even if the others didn’t know it yet. They’d leave him. They’d want nothing to do with him. If they ever even had to begin with. He’d been keeping the cards so close to his chest, trying to play the game as best he could, desperate to stay alive. And in the end? He’d lost.
He’d come to Sirius’ place, already knowing what the outcome of the visit would be. Voldemort was close to being defeated. The Order had somehow pulled it off, without his help or hindrance. And there was no way forward for Peter. The Dark Lord couldn’t keep him safe, and he knew the second he confessed to being a Death Eater, to being the Spy that had caused so much grief for everyone, to being a rat, well... his time was up.
His hand was shaking as he reached up to knock at the door, and for a brief moment, Peter was hoping that Sirius wasn’t home, that he was out with Remus or Lily, somewhere that Peter wouldn’t have to do this, that he wouldn’t have to tell him. It wasn’t courage, after all, that was the reason he was there. It was because he literally had no other place to go, and soon enough his secret would be out anyway. All he could do was hope he could be the first to tell Sirius and the others. He knocked.
“Wormtail! What are you doing here?”
Sirius’ voice was happy to see him, and it made the weight on Peter’s shoulders feel heavier, the ache in his heart worse. He tried to smile as Sirius pulled him into a hug and ushered him into the room, but couldn’t find it in himself to do so. Not when he knew that that was the last time he’d ever hear that sort of tone from his friend. Not when he knew it was the last time that he’d ever be able to feel like maybe he could call Sirius a friend, if he’d ever been able to before.
“Have something to tell you,” He managed out then, taking a shaky breath and looking at the floor, unable to find in in himself to look up at Sirius. Not when it was this awful thing he had to tell him. Not when he knew what was coming.
“What is it? Peter, what’s wrong?”
Peter felt Sirius’ hands on his shoulders, and he knew the other man was trying to get him to look at him, could tell that he was starting to shake under his touch. He shook his head, and moved to sink and sit into one of the chairs, watching as Sirius looked confused and moved to sit on the couch, watching him so closely, as if he could read Peter like a book and figure out what he was talking about. It had been a long, long time since Sirius had been able to do that, and the thought made Peter’s heart hurt even worse.
“I... I need to say this, and I need... I need you to let me say all of it, without interrupting me, okay? I... I know that’s hard and I don’t want to be mean, but I need to get this all out and I need to tell you everything before you make any rash calls or judgement, okay? Please, Sirius. If I’ve ever asked anything of you that you’ve listened to, let it be this one thing, okay? Let me tell you everything before you say or do anything. Please...” His voice sounded so tiny and broken, and Peter hated it. Hated himself.
“... Okay, Pete. I can do that.”
Peter could tell that Sirius was on edge now, worried about what Peter might say, about what he could possibly say, mind racing with possibilities. And Peter knew that he had to blurt this all out, fast as he could, because he couldn’t be sure that with all that he was going to say, Sirius wouldn’t have a bad reaction to it and just act before Peter was finished speaking. So he had to be fast.
“When we were in school, I obviously wasn’t the most well liked. Or the bravest. Or, brave at all, really,” Peter spoke rapidly, remembering how he had always thought he didn’t belong, even though he was grateful to be where his friends were, “I was bullied, made fun of, even when you and James and Remus stopped it. But, I knew how to get through it too. It wasn’t like I wasn’t used to it.”
He took a deep breath, “I’ve always been focused on staying alive. Making it from one day to the next. That’s how I lived before Hogwarts. How I’ve always lived. And.. A few guys approached me, and told me that they knew of a way I could stay alive, and stay safe. I weighed my options, and thought it was the best way that I could ensure my survival. That was all I wanted, was to survive. I followed after you guys into the Order, but...”
“I also joined the Death Eaters. As a spy for them,” His voice was more rapid now, desperate to get all of the words out while Sirius was sitting there, staring at him with a stunned expression on his face, “I weighed my options. I only traded information that was useful enough to keep me alive, but not take the entire Order down. I would pass things on that I thought the Dark Lord would like enough to keep me on, but never anything huge enough to cause problems.”
His voice shook as he continued, “I didn’t tell them about the party. Nor about the dance.” James. Amelia. Alice. Fabian. How many had died because of things the Death Eaters had known? How many had died before the Order had finally gotten the upper-hand? How many had he, despite feeling like it wasn’t his fault, actually been the cause of?
He didn’t get a chance to even think about that, or anything else, because suddenly Sirius had launched up from the couch and was across the few feet that separated them, fists flying. The first one landed squarely on Peter’s nose, the second his right eye, both so rapid that he didn’t even have time to react let alone realize they were happening. He’d fallen back into the couch, stunned and yelping in pain as the blows continued to be rained down on him, trying to put his arms up as if to defend himself.
“HOW DARE YOU?!” Sirius was yelling, face red, looking completely furious, “HOW DARE YOU EVEN SAY THAT?!”
Peter then felt a hand around his throat, choking him and cutting off all oxygen. He struggled and tried to gasp for air, hands moving to grab at Sirius’ arm that was holding onto him as if he could try and stop him. He knew he couldn’t. He knew this would be the outcome. All those years of pretending to be his friend, he knew that the second he’d say this, all that would be thrown out the window. Not like it wasn’t his own fault, of course. Not like it had ever been real to begin with, he thought.
He was squirming, struggling under Sirius’ hold, wide eyes looking up at the other man, desperate, begging. If Sirius was going to kill him, then he wanted him to just do it. To get it over with. He knew he didn’t deserve that. That was a mercy that wasn’t meant for him. Even if he hadn’t meant to, even if he’d tried his best for things not to happen the way they did, they still had. People were still dead or missing. And there was nothing Peter could do about it, because it had been his words that had caused things to be set in motion. He wasn’t innocent.
But he’d thought that they’d been friends, once. He’d thought that at one point in time, Sirius had cared for him the way James had. But maybe James hadn’t. Maybe Remus hadn’t. Maybe everyone who’d been around them had been right. Maybe that’s why this had happened; because Peter always had been nothing but the stupid little tag-a-long that followed after the other Marauders, hoping to be let in to a family that had never wanted him. Because no one had ever wanted him.
Sirius still had one hand around his throat, choking him, but the other was reaching into his pocket, pulling his wand out. There was a look on his face that Peter couldn’t quite describe. Rage. Fury. Vengeance. Pain. Emotion. What was it? Peter’s vision was going blurry, but he saw the wand being pointed at his face. He could see the way Sirius’ grip on the wand was determined.
And then, there was a flash of green light, and Peter Pettigrew was no more.

Fantasy High Theory: Fabian has an eating disorder
TW: eating disorder symptoms, anorexia symptoms, abuse mention, death mention, violence mention, gun mention, alcohol mention, drug mention, trauma mention, smoking mention,...
Word Count: about 2100
I know this is a big assumption to make with what we have, but I couldn't ignore all the data and the warning signs. In fact, I think that even if Fabian does not have an eating disorder at this time, he's certainly at risk for one and needs the issues addressed before it gets worse.
Before I get into it, let me remind everyone that I am about to talk about a very heavy subject. Remember, stay safe and consider the warnings before you continue. You can always message me for a summary of the red flags or for an edited version if you need it. I would rather you be safe than to have you're like on my theory.
Okay? Okay. Let's start by defining a few things.
Eating Disorder: Any of a range of psychological disorders in which people experience severe disturbances in their eating behaviors and related thoughts/emotions. People with eating disorders typically become pre-occupied with food and/or their body weight/shape.
ARFID: Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder is an eating disorder characterized by eating very little food and/or avoiding eating certain foods. It does not include having a distorted body image (as occurs in anorexia nervosa) or being preoccupied with body image (as occurs in bulimia nervosa). People with avoidant/restrictive food intake may not eat because they lose interest in eating or because they think eating has harmful consequences. They may avoid certain foods because of their color, consistency, or odor. When it becomes more severe, it can cause substantial weight loss, slower-than-expected growth in children, difficulty participating in normal social activities, and sometimes life-threatening nutritional deficiencies.
Anorexia nervosa: Diagnosed when patient BMI (body mass index which is a rule of thumb measuring body size vs mass) is low for their age and height. Severity is classified as mild (BMI of greater than 17), moderate (BMI of 16–16.99), severe (BMI of 15–15.99), or extreme (BMI of less than 15). Hallmarks of anorexia include limited food intake, excessive monitoring of the calorie and fat content of food, fear of being “fat”, problems with body image, denial of low body weight, excessive exercise, food rituals, cold intolerance, mood swings, sleeping issues, chronic fatigue, distorted body image, and many more. Eventually, the body goes into starvation which cause a lot of bad symptoms.
Atypical anorexia nervosa: All of the criteria for anorexia nervosa are met, except the individual's weight is within or above the normal range.
Again, ANY BMI can still mean a person has an eating disorder. It is NOT confined to those that are underweight. The BMI is only there as a red flag and to help classify severity of anorexia. I want to make this very clear, not just for my theory, but for the people reading this who recognize parts of it in themselves or others. I'm about to give an example that gets... personal in order to show that people who don't fit the stereotype of being underweight can still have an eating disorder. How personal? My own.
I am overweight to obese (depending on the doctor and the range). I don't exercise much. I eat pretty well around friends. But I have an eating disorder. I just... don't get hungry most of the time, so I forget to eat a lot more often than is healthy. A LOT more. I've been to the hospital a few times due to dehydration. I've collapsed because I literally forgot to eat for two or three days. I could have died at one point because despite being overweight, I was eating so little that things just... stopped working. Again, I was overweight. People and doctors thought I was just lazy. I was told to eat less and exercise more. Even my blood tests came back fine until one day, they didn't. And even then, nobody listened. Somebody doesn't have to look how you expect them to in order to have a problem. Also, don't be afraid to reach out for help if you feel like some of this hits close to home or someone you know is showing symptoms. It's okay to need help.
So remember, eating disorders can affect anybody with any body. The important thing is to be kind, supportive, and encourage professional help such as cognitive therapy.
****
Now to list Fabian's risk factors (I only listed the ones I believe he has)
Dysfunction family: This is a big risk factor for Fabian. His father is chaotic evil and (despite loving his son) puts massive pressure on him and tries to make him conform to his ideal for most of Fabian's life. Fabian has seen his father abuse his crew and snap at the drop of a hat. His mother has been a heavy alcoholic and mostly absent his entire first 16 years and when she gets off alcohol, she puts an extreme amount of pressure on him herself.
Abuse: This is another big one. His parents have been verbally abusive, emotionally abusive, neglectful in a variety of ways, controlling, manipulative, isolating, and his mother rested his food intake. He could have also been physically abused in the guise of sparing.
Genetics: Fabian's mother is very slim. Using images of weights and comparing it to her shape, she in fact fits the underweight shape which may or may not imply a genetic component depending on if the normal body shapes are different for high elves or not.
Exposure to warped body ideals and weight stigma: Exposure to "body ideals" in places like the media (especially if at a young age) can increase body dysfunction and eating disorder risk. Weight stigma can make this worse due to discrimination and stereotyping based on a person’s weight. Fabian has actually been exposed to this a lot due to his father and the crew. He's a kid around very strong muscular people and he feels pushed to get stronger to live up to his dad. It's also very easy to imagine that crew members who were not strong or active enough got a very bad reaction from his father, which would reinforce the ideal. Some of this is conjecture, but it's not so far outside the realm of possibility to be impossible.
Participation in sports: He's on the Bloodrush team and is a fencer.
Pressure to have a certain body shape from family: I think this risk factor is there too, especially when his mother takes over training.
Bullying/Teasing: Fabian was actually bullied by peers when he first starts school, but I believe his parents were bullying him long before that.
Trauma and PTSD: Oh boy, is this solid. He was most likely traumitized by his parents before high school. He saw two new friends die the first day of school and nearly died himself, only saved by Riz. He watched two teachers die by gunshot right in front of him (and a staff member killed by bludgeoning). Fabian mentions having nightmares about Riz killing Daybreak which might have been due to it being via gunshot. He was forced to kill people due to the situation he found himself in. The person who was supposed to have been helping them the entire time (Biz) turned out to be an evil dude who trapped one friend in a palimpsest and wanted to capture another. He was stuck in jail for weeks! His family was attacked, his home was damaged, and his dad died (and by his hand no less). He and his friends almost died to a dragon. That's a LOT of trauma for a kid to try to process and Jawbone mentioned that he never came to visit him, so he probably dealt with a lot of it on his own.
Low self-esteem: This is unfortunately something else he has. Despite all the bravado, he doesn't know how to be a friend or have people like him for who he is (instead of who his parents are or how much money he has). He tries to put up a cool front, but he judges himself very harshly.
Perfectionism. One of the strongest risk factors for an eating disorder is perfectionism, especially self-oriented perfectionism, which involves setting unrealistically high expectations for oneself. If they fail to meet their high expectations, the person becomes very self-critical. Fabian has this type of perfectionism.
History of an anxiety disorder: This one is reaching, but possible. People often show signs of an anxiety disorder (generalized anxiety, social phobia, OCD,...) before the onset of an eating disorder and Fabian stays on edge a lot, worries excessively, puts up a front, and deals with nightmares.
Substance abuse: Fabian has had alcohol and drugs before the age of 16, his parents almost encouraging it. He smokes regularly. Addiction runs in his family as well with his mother being an alcoholic and his father doing multiple drugs. Neither parent even hides the fact that they take drugs and drink alcohol to excess, the crew probably took drugs and got drunk in front of a young Fabian, and Bill offered drugs to his friends upon meeting them.
History of using weight-controling methods and dieting: Fabian exercises a great deal. He skips meals. He has a limited number of things he will eat. There is a lot of evidence to back this up.
Limited social networks: This was a HUGE issue before high school. Fabian was very isolated. He had no friends, limited social activities, and lacked proper social support. Recently, he's been skipping class exclusively which on top of smoking a lot, puts distance between him and other people.
Long story short? Our boy is at risk. Big time.
****
List of common signs of eating disorders (including anorexia)
Limited food intake: Seen when he has mostly protein smoothies, his mother tries to give him limited rations, and when he refuses to eat with his friends more and more as the series goes on. The first incident of it was in Cool Kids, Cold Case where Fabian refused the food he was offered on two separate occasions, passing it to Riz both times. Once was after the battle with Daybreak and being stuck at the police station a good while. The other was when the teens were hanging out at Riz's appartment when Sklonda got takeout. Fabian's mom also makes him earn food as seen in the live show. This mentality could have very well been internalized, even with Cathilda there to try and give him more.
Excessive monitoring of the calorie and fat content of food: He worries about empty calories, how fattening something is, and removed the cheese from a slice of pizza and dabbed the oil
Fear of being “fat” or in a shape that is not the ideal: In episode 1 of season 2, he is very preoccupied with staying trim and tight.
Excessive exercise: He exercises who knows how long every morning plus for Bloodrush plus the times outside of that
Food rituals: This is interacting with food a certain way (like small bites or how it's prepared) which causes anxiety when not followed. The pizza event might be one, but it's hard to say without a pattern.
Sleeping issues: Fabian has issues with sleeping, dreaming, and nightmares. His father confirmed this and he himself mentioned his nightmares.
Weight loss: By comparing his previous official artwork with his new official artwork, it's easy to see that Fabian looks visibly thinner. He's also VERY cut. (very defined muscles requiring very little fat) for his age. He was muscular last year sure, but his chest and abs are much more defined this year. Being that cut means that despite how muscular Fabian is, he has been eating less and probably doing fat burning exercises, getting a lot of his nutrition from multivitamins and whey, and would have less energy than normal.
Negative energy balance/chronic fatigue: This is only a possibility, but it deserves being mentioned. If this is going on, it puts a spin on some of Fabian's other actions in season 2, episode 1. He showed up late on move in day and didn't really move anything (just carried a book), which might have been a character thing, but could have also been because Fabian is running on empty and capable of things like adrenaline fueled busts of energy, but otherwise dealing with low energy and fatigue.
Also, Fabian is smoking now which works as an appetite suppressant as is common among those with eating disorders.
(Signs with no evidence as of this post: problems with body image, denial of low body weight, cold intolerance, mood swings)
~*~*~*~*~*~
TLDR: Fabian is showing a lot of symptoms of an eating disorder and also over a dozen risk factors. The number of both is substantial enough to see a pattern. Enough that I sincerely hope that it's acknowledged during the season because if Fabian does not have an eating disorder, he is at substantial risk of developing one.
PS: I know it's data heavy, I might have missed a few things, and it could be totally wrong, but I seen enough there that I thought it might make for a solid theory. D20 is no stranger to heavy subjects and I think if they do cover it, they will do a good job (as always). If they don't, I still learned a lot making this theory and maybe a few of you will as well. ^_^

𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐊 𝐍𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐍𝐄   ——   𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 !
❛❛ Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. ❜❜ — Iain Thomas
001. 𝒆𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒓…
sun or moon? stars or clouds? sea or sky? sunrise or sunset? early morning or late night? snow or rain? pastel or primary colours? hot chocolate or coffee? dusk or dawn? baths or showers? swimming or running? singing or dancing? paperback or hardcover? misty mornings or rainy mornings? soft pillows or hard pillows? pop or punk?
002. 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆…
… forced to choose between saving your best friend or yourself, what would your choice be?
❛ My best friend. ❜ It seems as though there’s a lump in her throat as she speaks, her voice sure and strong. ❛ Far more readily than I would save myself. It’s --- It’s not right. It wouldn’t be right for me to --- for me to not save her, save them. ❜ She goes silent for a few more seconds, her eyebrows raising as she asks a simple question. ❛ Why, what did the others say? ❜
If ever you’ve already asked a question but already know the answer, it’s this one: Dorcas suffers from chronic heroism, and would save her best friend far more readily than she would ever consider herself worth saving. There’s no ‘forcing’ about it - Dorcas would choose others over herself in a heartbeat.
… trapped on a deserted island, who would you want to have with you?
❛ Probably Calliope or Emmeline. Maybe, maybe Lily. Or Alice. I mean, it’s kind of impossible to choose, right? You can have someone you get along with, or someone who you know is better at magic than you, or someone who knows stuff about surviving on a deserted island, or literally anyone famous. ❜ Dorcas shrugs. The question is more casual than the others, and her shoulders droop as she breathes in and out deeply.
… able to turn back time and given the chance to change one thing, would you?
❛ My - my brother. I’d go back, for my brother. So I could save him. Or die in his place. Anything. Just - my brother. He should be here. ❜ Her voice is panicked, now. It’s a question she hadn’t been expecting, and she knows traveling through time is possible - time turners - but she doesn’t trust herself to use them. She doesn’t trust herself to save him without breaking everything. She didn’t save him the first time. What’s to say fear won’t paralyze her again?
… able to see the future, would you try to change it, or let it happen as it should?
❛  I mean, if things are happy in the end, I’d probably let it happen as it should. But i’s not about me or my happiness. If the people that I love are happy, then I’d keep it the same. But I’d change it in a heartbeat if I knew the end of all this was anything but simple, pure happiness for any of them. ❜
If Dorcas knew what would happen to her, to her friends, her life wouldn’t be the thing that she’d want saved. No. Marlene dies soon after she does - they think it’s by Travers and his crowd, but nobody ever finds out. He gets her entire family. There are no more McKinnons that will ever grace the grounds of Hogwarts. Gideon and Fabian Prewett - brave, strong, good - are killed by five Death Eaters that same August. The ground becomes hallowed, sacred, and nobody can speak their names without thinking of Molly - poor, dearest Molly. Lily and James have a son, they get to be happy, but they’re locked away in Godric’s Hollow, and it’s there that they die, only months after Dorcas had. Their son lives, but his life is scarred, and set out for him, already. The life of a martyr. Sirius wastes away in Azkaban, and when he gets his only taste of freedom, it’s tinged by imprisonment in a house he never wanted to call home again in his life, and then he dies, and there’s no body to bury. Peter’s a traitor, until he has one moment - one shining moment of humanity - and then he is dead by his own hand. Remus lives an entire life without his best friends, goes near mad with the grief of that loss, and after finding Sirius again, he loses him so soon, and then dies himself, too.
Emmeline lives. She gets to live, for a shining, glorious number of years, but they’re numbered. They’ve always been numbered. He comes for her, as he came for Dorcas, and she dies in the street. Alice is tortured into insanity like Frank is - they become Aurors and are successful pillars of the community and then it happens. They get their happiness, their son, but it is ripped away. He’s raised by his grandmother - formidable and strict, always criticizing him for not being the father he’d never known. Nobody ever knows what becomes of Regulus Black. Nobody ever talks about his story, or how he’s a good person, in his own way. Andromeda and Ted get married. They have a daughter, with a name as long and complex as Andromeda’s own, but then Ted goes away. He goes into hiding, and he doesn’t come home. His name is on the list of deaths announced on the radio, and Andromeda’s world stops, too, when she loses her daughter as well. Emma Vanity has a career in Quidditch - she lives through both wars, and is happy. She’s not untouched by the ravages of war, on either front, but it doesn’t hurl her into the waves like it had with the others. Lucius and Narcissa live. Lucius, imprisoned for far less years than he deserves, gets a pardon at the very end of things - they both see their son grow up, see the son they had raised to be a snake marry, and have children of his own. Mary survived, but, God, at what cost? At what cost? She loses her best friends, her family.
Severus dies as he had lived - hopelessly in love with Lily Evans, staring into the last piece of her has left - her son’s eyes, but he has become someone not even Dorcas would recognize - a man of casual cruelty, who bullies young Neville Longbottom until he’s his worst fear. But there are no more McKinnon’s. No more Meadowes. No more Prewett’s. No more Black’s. No more Tonks’. The war that they had thought would be final isn’t. They are raised to become soldiers, some less touched by this reality than others, but it comes to them in the end, and one by one, their lives are torn apart. But, in the end, they get to be happy. There’s happiness even in their failure to surely end things. They don’t get to live until their eighties, sit back on their rocking chairs and reminisce about the old days. They die young, but some of their children live. They fight like hell to live, but they do. It’s the question of whether or not it’s worth it. They are children born to be soldiers, who bring soldiers of their own into the world without knowing it. Harry Potter is saddled with a fate worse than death - he’s raised like a pig for slaughter, and people don’t talk about that enough. He survives, he wins, but at what cost? Nightmares, pain, horror? For the rest of his life? His scar may not hurt anymore, but his limbs ache, and he remembers the feeling of someone in his mind more vividly than he ever wanted to. His friends, his friends, die. Fred and George Weasley? Dead. Remus? Dead. Tonks? Dead. Colin Creevey? Dead. Happiness isn’t something easily measured - they are happy, but it’s always tinged by the fact that a lot of their problems haven’t gone away. Psychologically, the harm of war stays with you forever.
Dorcas would want everyone else to live. She’d throw herself in front of that Killing Curse for anyone, for anything. If she knew, she’d want everything rewritten. It would begin and end with her, nobody else, and she’s so foolishly optimistic that it might actually work. But the thing is she doesn’t know, and if she did, she’d surely go mad with the weight of it, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t change it - just that she wouldn’t be the same. And in the end, when she dies, she isn’t the same as we know her now. She still doesn’t kill, but she’s raised her wand far more times than she ever thought she’d have to, and she still holds out hope for everyone, but it’s not rose tinted anymore. The sad truth of the matter is that right now, she’d die for any of the people I mentioned above. Any of them.
003. 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒔…
what’s your character’s myers-briggs personality type?
INFP — The Mediator
Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.
what’s your character’s alignment?
Neutral Good
Creatures of neutral good alignment believe that there must be some regulation in combination with freedoms if the best is to be brought to the world--the most beneficial conditions for living things in general and intelligent creatures in particular. Creatures of this alignments see the cosmos as a place where law and chaos are merely tools to use in bringing life, happiness, and prosperity to all deserving creatures. Order is not good unless it brings this to all; neither is randomness and total freedom desirable if it does not bring such good. Neutral goods value both personal freedom and adherence to laws. They feel that too many laws may unnecessarily restrict the freedom of good beings. They also believe that too much freedom may not protect society as a whole and encourage counterproductive divisions and in-fighting. They promote governments which hold broad powers, but do not interfere in the day-to-day lives of their citizens.
if you had to use one tv trope to describe your character, what would it be?
Skilled, but Naive or Wide-Eyed Idealist

oh my GOD the new ep!!!! like!!!!!!!!! SO MUCH happened but then also the preview for the next ep looks SO GOOD
**spoilers for first kisses and last words**
Hoo boy this was, as I predicted, a BIG one. Not that I needed to be an oracle to figure that out since there’s only a few eps left but man did it deliver.
I still think that Cool Kids, Cold Case had the most off the wall nonsense happening in the shortest period of time but this ep I think was overall the most consistently wild ep.
So let’s take it from the top.
I think I forgot to mention it before but Adaine’s, “I go into a rage,” hardcore cracked me up.
“I have hold person.”/”I stuff a sock in her mouth.” Insult to injury Adaine.
The entire group dunking on Aelwen, forgetting that Riz is literally bleeding out, half dead.
“sausage festival”
Adaine really was dead serious about her snitching threat huh?
Ally miming a boom mic.
I love how everyone including Siobhan mess up Aelwen’s name or mix it up with Adaine’s half the time.
And speaking of, wow. What a rise and fall for her in 3 eps (and about an hour in game time). She’s queen of the nerds. She’s not even cool at her own school. And terrified of whoever she made whatever shady deal with. I know she literally tried to kill the whole party last ep and that she’s the worst but I almost feel for her.
Almost.
“This is not on you. This is on the world within which you inhabit.”
I love Adaine’s semi-indigent, “We’re not going to kill you,” because Alwen was 100% ready to murder them which, side note, imagine how much on an international incident that would have been.
Lol at the group tag team bullying Aelwen about going to Mumple and Adaine using her magic jacket for super petty BS.
“Hey mom!”/”GodDAMMIT honey.”
The parent/kid relationships are so good in this show.
Everyone but Kristen parkouring off the roof when Sklonda specifically set up a ladder.
“The put a girl in a palimpsest,” followed immediately by, “She went to a party,” as if those are on the same level.
Sklonda Gukgak DUNKING Aelwen into the squad car with a technical assist from Adaine. I knew she was gonna be my fave parent from her intro scene and I love her even more than I thought.
“With all due respect, (A/N: Which is none), suck my dick, fuck you.”
“She tried to murder me.”/”BE THAT AS IT IS.”
“Eh, you carry a gun.”
“No one who’s detecting maidens is a maiden.”
I feel like I’m quoting a lot today but there were so many money lines this episode.
Everyone always loses it when Brennan starts doing the Identify spell voice and I love it.
Adaine’s dad is T R A S H
Adaine’s mom on the other hand…I’ve been wondering about her for a little while because usually the outright emotional abuse has been from her dad while her mom is either not there or not saying anything. So I’ve been wondering was her deal is and we finally got the start of an answer. I know we only have a few eps left but I hope we go a little deeper into what exactly is going on there. It seems like Adaine’s parents are gonna be a big factor in whatever endgame is planned so fingers crossed,
Everyone cracking up as Emily backs Fig into a corner talking to Penelope.
I love Gorgug so freaking much. Just his good natured, lumbering self. EVery time Zac opens his mouth gold falls out.
Emily MAXED out her deception huh?
I think Siobhan must have forgotten that she took the crystal with Ostentasia away from Aelwen at the end of last ep. Either that or they willingly gave it to the cops and I forgot (but I think it’s the former because she said in this ep that it was in Aelwen’s pocket when at the end of the last ep she def took it).
My autocorrect keeps wanting me to type Ellen for Aelwen. I WISH.
I knew it! He’s a PIRATE. Suck it Fabian. (lol at Adaine stirring the pot. That was like Adaine being sincerely polite and Siobhan trying to cause problems and I love mixed motive player/character decisions).
I wonder if the banker is named after John Hughes.
I can’t believe the dumb bank is actually a huge plot point.
Yikes, re: Bill and Fabian. That got tense. Though I’ve kinda been waiting for some kind of blowout for a while. His dad runs very hot and cold and I figured it would only be a matter of time before we saw some of the cold.
Also, Lou breaking character in the middle of that very intense moment to clarify a plot point.
Sidenote: For a hot sec after reading the title of the ep and remembering how Sklonda is competent to the point of (probably) breaking the original plot, I was so concerned she was gonna eat it this ep. So glad she didn’t.
Anyway, the idea of swinging sadly on a rope is so freaking funny.
Fig: Can I offer you a sad song in this trying time?
Huge portrait of Bill Seacaster in Fabian’s room.
Adaine is gonna bring up him kissing her sister very time she needs to get out of something w/ Fabian for the rest of her immortal life.
Another sidenote: This is a little thing but I always think it’s interesting when fantasy worlds have the same months and days as us when they’re named after like Norse Gods and Roman statesmen that wouldn’t exist in their world. Same with Roman numerals and Irish coffee.
“Am I allowed to smoke in here?”/”Of course.”
I really like the character detail that Adaine is always really polite to everyone, including/especially people like Fabian’s maid and Basrar. People that she wouldn’t necessarily “have to” be polite to, you know? It’s like she’s trying to make up for the fact that her family is a bag of dicks.
“Fantasy Google”
The whole bit with Fabian’s porn stash was so good. This group is so good w/ yes-adning each other.
“Privateer me a new one.” Emily is so good.
“Special investment” Suspicious
I was thinking “I can’t believe looking at a bank’s FAQs is part of this game,” right as Brennan said it.
So I went back and watched Siobhan’s face from when Emily first mentioned Kal Vaxis to when she got the connection to KVX and it took her 22 seconds. I also missed the quick cut to Brennan when Gorgug asks, “What is Kal Vaxis,” and you can tell he knows they’re so close to breaking it with the little grin on his face. I wish we had gotten a reaction shot right after she got it. Anyway, great team solve w/ the MVP trophy to Siobhan/Adaine.
I loved when Zac, Emily, and Siobhan all whipped out their laminated maps in tandem to figure out what was happening.
The hard mood change from Adaine dropping the bomb about Riz’s dad and to forming a committee to help Gorgug flirt with Zelda was wild.
Kristen telling anyone to be suave is hysterical.
What a DISASTER of a committee Gorgug’s friends are. Well meaning but so trash
Fig: Tell her you got a SICK tattoo
Adaine: Bring her to see art in the middle of the night
Fabian: You cannot date this person (Kristen: You absolutely have to)
Kristen: Actually not garbage advice but she is in no position to be giving dating advice to anyone
Riz: Having a literal existential crisis
“Who else is he gonna date?” WOW, savage Adaine.
I meant to say this before but I love how Adaine’s go-to is immediately ice cream and she’s always on board to go to Basrar’s. Like how when she texted everyone 2 eps ago she was like, “Let’s get ice cream now.”
Mmm, don’t love that Gorthalax isn’t answering his phone. I have been waiting for a significant adult to die for a while now.
OK, look, the whole thing about Penelope and Dayne being eternal prom king/queen. Is it wild? Yes. Is it implausible? No. No it’s not. Even Murph, most veteran player, was kind of like, “Wait, does that make sense?” Because, in this setting, it kind of would? I’m not sure it fits within the story so far and I’d have to go back and listen to the more lore-y stuff again but the conceit itself is like the exact right amount of crazy to fit in this setting? And they never cut to Brennan like I wanted so I could judge his face for any kind of tell. But anyway, you guys know I’ve been predicting a prom finale and this would fit right into a prom finale.
The girls giving Gorgug a pep talk before his date was ADORABLE.
Gorgug having to check his phone to remember three words, “You look nice.”
“Your friends are popular and loud” True
Zelda’s a BARBARIAN! She’s a MEGA BARBARIAN!
I know they mean ecstasy like intense emotion but I kept thinking, like, molly.
Hmm, so Penelope wanted to know if Zelda had hooked up w/ Gorgug, ie: if she was a maiden. Can they only palimpsest maidens? Or (as we will get to later) does nice guy Biz only want virginal maidens for his creepy reverse Weird Science arcade setup?
Zelda listing off every type of metal and then Gorgug’s, “Same stuff,” was perfect comic timing on Zac’s part.
Imagine the Hangman screaming down the road on fire, Zelda completely terrified.
I love the Hangman so freaking much.
“DO NOT GIVE TREATS TO MY MOTORCYCLE.”
I can’t believe everyone is living at the freaking crappy apartments. I knew they were all gonna end up hanging at one persons’ house but I kinda figured it would be Fabian’s house or Gorgug’s house.
I”m also concerned about Bill. I feel like we keep getting reminded that he’s mortal a LOT.
Did Gorgug’s parents have indoor fireworks on tap for Gorgug’s first date?
Oh my God the whole docking conversation. Never play chicken with Brennan because the dude will not blink.
“We didn’t do that.” That’s his other best comic timing moment of the ep.
“Polishing my axe”
Kristen this episode
I really wish they’d made the roll to find Ragh later in the ep. Fig is so ride or die for Gilear now and I love it.
“I fall asleep.”
Adaine almost making her parents dunk on Gilear but then pulling back.
But also, Adaine and Gilear going off the the oracle together.
“Fig pack it in.”
Affirmations with Fig and Gilear.
Fig, do you really think platonically cuddling with Kristen is the move?
Riz setting himself up for a dramatic entrance is so fantastic.
Hmm, so Biz and Zayne were attacked at the same time. That’s why that cold pill detail was in there way back. I’ve been trying to figure out what was always planned and what was quick re-working but Brennan is so good I can never really tell.
Are multiple unrelated groups just getting into palimpsests at the same time? Or mostly unrelated groups tied to one person?
“We are not gonna get our security deposit back.”
RIZ’S DAD IS JAMES BOND! YES! I didn’t know I wanted that to be the case until it happened and now that’s the only acceptable option.
Riz didn’t get the 20′s he needed when fighting Aelwen but man he got it at the best story moment this week.
Oh man that home movie
The pearl is grey. Interesting.
“Mom our family is so awesome Mom we’re all so badass, I thought it was just us but Dad is awesome too, why didn’t you tell me Mom?”
Sklonda: Internally screaming.
Man he went full Inigo Montoya.
“I’ve got nimble escape so…”
“I guess we have a two bedroom,” I think was a really underrated funny line.
Did Riz ever tell his mom about the time of death thing.
Everyone inundating Gilear with overlapping chatter.
lol the Hangman likes Zelda’s family
Ally’s panicked, “FUCK” is always hilarious.
Why are all the adults in Gorgug’s life trying to get him laid?
OK so the elementals were conjured by Aelwn’s magic Brennan said. He said by Aelwen’s magic, not by Aelwen. I wonder if that turn of phrase was specific or arbitrary. Like, we were told where Aelwen is but we don’t know. Was she forced to do it (either by threat or by magic)? Clearly someone (Biz?) is pulling her strings to at least some degree.
“It’s probably about marriage.” “WAR HAS BEEN DECLARED.”
That happened fast
Fun fact from my International Law class: When a government kidnaps someone, it’s called rendition.
“There’s a war, fuck school.”
Yeah it is wild that Adaine’s parents didn’t call her.
OK so did the Elves get Aelwen back but also go, “But you still need to go to jail.” Because they cut Brennan off before the end of that sentence which might have had more clues in it.
“I text my mom k”
I also wanna know who gave Kristen a slushy marg (It’s war times. I bet things are looser now)
Murph’s face when Brennan said, “Lucky Stones” was so good. That was so Riz.
S/O to Ally for pre-casting Guardian of Faith. Good instinct.
AHHHHHH BIZ
As I said in an earlier conversation s/o to Adaine for DUNKING on him at every opportunity because he DESERVED IT. Also, her instincts for who sucks in this game have been spot on.
Another s/o to Riz for having the presence of mind to not pull a Star Lord and to pretend to be on the bad dude’s side for long enough to gain some kind of upper hand.
OK, wow was not expecting that twist. I feel like I need to go back and rewatch some stuff to get a better handle of the timeline and stuff. Like, when exactly did the girls start going missing again? And what year is Biz? Has he been masterminding this whole thing? I feel like no but I feel like he’s masterminding his own thing which happens to a puzzle piece in something bigger? BUT IT’S A PRETTY DAMN BIG PIECE. Who opened the new arcade? Is it connected to the bank?  How did Biz get involved? Who’s his supplier? Did someone hook up Biz, Daybreak, Penelope, and Aelwen with Palimpsests to do their own separate things, hoping that at least one of them would succeed which would somehow be good for the mystery person? I am so excited to find out and I really hope Brennan and the cast do a Q+A sesh after S1 is over to hash some stuff out.
Siobhan’s face when Biz said he was going after Adaine.
ALSO, you’re just gonna TELL RIZ and you wanna PUT ONE OF HIS BEST FRIENDS into a MAGIC CRYSTAL???? AND YOU THOUGHT HE’D BE ON BOARD? Like, even if he was, what about the 4 other people who are there?????
(sidenote, wild Gorgug’s parents just left them alone, no questions asked)
Theme-wise, this is the fight ep I’m most excited for. It seems rad as hell.
All that yelling in the promo for next week. Either the raddest thing possible happened or there was a TPK. There is no other option.
Wow, that was a stellar ep and this is a really long post. I really can’t wait for next week’s!
Edit: I meant to say before, is Penelope’s FB album like…a hit list? Like does whoever’s doing the actual dirty work (Biz? S/o else?) know that whoever she takes a picture with is who they should target?

“Tombstone” (1993): cowboys and gay subtext
Disclaimer: I wrote this text long time ago, when we first heard the title of the episode, and we knew perfectly nothing about the plot - I just somehow never got to posting it. Back then I never DREAMED that we will be getting Cas and Dean roleplaying Texas rangers, and running around in cowboy hats. (What a time to be alive!) Anyway, I hope this little rant about how “Tombstone” (1993) is relevant to tomorrow’s episode will still be fun to read.
Disclaimer 2: I do not equal effeminate/weak bodied/flamboyant = gay, just different from the surroundings in the context of this movie. At the same time, the movie uses cheap stereotypes to characterize their characters in subtext.  It is 1990s, and this is not good, but it happened back then.
File it under the “Things I do because of my “Supernatural” obsession”: I watch and read stuff I hadn’t expected to before I started watching the show - you know, like a 1993 western telling the story of the legendary gunman Wyatt Earp and his two brothers, hunting and killing some Old West gang of outlaws in a frontier town.
Nevertheless, I did watch it, and now I will write about it because I am painfully aware that episode 13x06 is called “Tombstone”, that it has a western theme, and that it’s an episode by the writer who gave us “Stuck in the Middle with You” (12x12). It is therefore quite possible that the source material is relevant to the final product - plus with Tarantino being a western buff, it all connects nicely.
I will not speculate about the actual episode since we have almost nothing to go on at the moment - besides a few pictures from which we can gather a couple of facts:
The boys are most probably in Dodge City at some point (we saw pictures from the set saying “Dodge City” on one of the buildings). The city is about 3,5 hour drive from Lebanon - where the bunker is - and it was here Wyatt Earp was the sheriff before he moved to Tombstone. It also is “the cowboy capital of the US” because of it being the main city on the old “cattle trail”, famous for its cow markets and for its gunfights. We saw Dodge City on the show once before when Krissy’s dad was attacked in “Adventures in Babysitting”, but otherwise this is the first time we visit it,
We also know that at some point we will visit a cowboy-themed motel.
[While all of this gives us no story hints whatsoever, I think it’s safe to assume that the keywords for the episode are “cowboys” and “western”. Since Davy Perez’ most noteworthy episode last year was Tarantino themed, I am not remotely surprised this season for him is “westerns” (he is also bringing us the train heist episode later this season - yes, please.)]
I can, however, present the movie “Tombstone” that may or may not have something to do with the final episode (we’ll see). As I am aware that not everyone is as dedicated (read: bored and obsessed) as me to check out every pop culture reference on the show, I decided to share my newly aquired wisdom with the class.
Ok, so the story. The movie tells a (rather idealized) version of the shootout that occured in the frontier town of Tombstone, Arizona, between Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp (plus their friend, Doc Holliday) and the gang of outlaws who called themselves “the Cowboys” - known as the gunfight at OK Corral. I will talk just about the movie here (since the historical truth is a little different, and a compare-and-contrast historical analysis is not what we need right now).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, Wyatt Earp got famous being the marshall of Dodge City, while also being a pacifist and trying to avoid starting conflicts as much as possible. Tombstone was supposed to be his retirement - he wanted to settle down, finally having his family around, and earn some money for a comfortable and silent life. He came to Tombstone together with his two brothers and their wives; upon arrival, he found out that his best friend, Doc Holliday, also ended up in the town, searching for his luck and trying to cure his TB - an illness that will later kill him at the age of 35.
We meet Wyatt Earp when he has people closest to his heart right around him, and is very content with his life. He is also very adamant to leave the past and the fame behind, and start a completely new chapter in Arizona. The Earp brothers find out very quickly, however, that Tombstone is very far from the sleepy abode the name might suggest. The town is full of colourful characters - gamblers, gunslingers, preachers, prostitutes, outlaws etc. And of course there is a conflict boiling just below the surface.
Unwillingly, one by one the Earp party is pulled back into being the law officers again, and into the bloody frontier war.
SPOILERS AHEAD (you know, if you wanna watch the movie yourself)
So many themes here that remind me of SPN!
We have a duty bound man who meets a maverick and outgoing woman. She offers him excitement and adventures, and of course he falls for her, but doesn’t let himself have what he wants because of his mission, his situation (he was married at the time), and the need to act honourably. He is, however, perfectly aware of his feelings and that a part of this behaviour is fear of following his heart because he had never done this before in his life;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It takes a death of his closest friend to realize life is too short, and he should go for what he wants, which he does;
Before this, however, he follows the murder of one of his brothers by going on a shooting spree, and killing every bad guy he can find until they all are eradicated,
There is also so much gay subtext between two of the characters that the movie is always mentioned when “gay westerns before Brokeback Mountain” are discussed.
“Tombstone” as a lesson in gay subtext:
It is never mentioned in the movie that Billy Zane and Jason Priestley’s characters are gay. Yet, it is so obvious from the way they are portrayed that even people who are not used to reading subtext are perfectly aware the two characters are most probably lovers.
The characterization
The first thing we notice is the look of the characters. The two man are both dressed in a way that differenciates them from the enviroment around them - Billy Zane’s Fabian is completely different from the masculine world of the Old West, with his soft hair, boyish good looks, clean shaven face, and elaborate outfits.
Tumblr media
Jason Priestley’s Billy is more in accordance with the tough world of Tombstone - he is the deputy sheriff after all, and can be tough when needed - but still, in his time off he is portrayed as soft, effeminate, especially while contrasted with the criminals he usually runs with. His outfit is not too different from everyone else’s, but he is the only person to wear a bowtie (everyone else wears neckties or bandanas) and spectacles. He is portrayed as a slightly weaker and more vulnerable person.
Tumblr media
Exposition in relation to other characters
The two characters sexuality is shown, not talked about, especially through the kind of interractions they have with other people.
We meet Fabian when he steps out of a carriage, all confident, flamboyant, well-groomed and witty. His person awakens the reaction in the manly-men of the West, which is shown by Morgan Earp asking the local sheriff “What kind of town is this?” (at which point Wyatt shushes him, as if he said something offensive).
Tumblr media
To hammer the point home, Fabian is an actor who travels with a gorgeous woman, but obviously has no sexual interest in her - they are best buddies who ogle the Earps together, and comment on their attractiveness.
Tumblr media
As for Billy, we meet him when he arrives at the theatre to see the actors’ performance, and right away he is shown bullied by the Cowboys. The quips obviously refer to his sexuality (“Hey, sister boy, gimme some!”). He doesn’t try to shoot them down, just tries to avoid being touched. Quickly he is “saved” by the leader of the gang, and seated beside him. Shortly afterwards the camera shows us the difference between the Cowboys and the deputy sheriff’s approach to Fabian onstage (mocking vs in awe).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, during a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, Billy grabs Fabian in the saloon, and cordially invites him to his table. This is the last time we see the two men together, alive.
Tumblr media
Fast forward to the end of the movie: Billy is riding around with the Cowboys while Wyatt Earp runs around, shooting everything he can find. The outlaws stop a carriage and find the actress and Fabian in the back: the actor is dead, shot by the Cowboys. Everything here happens completely beside the dialogue and the rest of the scene. Billy watches dead Fabian while the actress holds her dead friend, and angrily discusses the war with the leader of the gang.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Just for your viewing pleasure, I created THIS GIFSET of the scene)
It is never said out loud that Bily and Fabian are lovers. It is still pretty damn obvious. It is perfectly clear from the way they are presented, their interactions with other characters, and the (very limited) onscreen interactions with each other.
“Tombstone” is a cowboy movie that takes a step towards the actual reality of the Wild West, and makes it almost textual. Homosexuality was a natural part of the cowboy lifestyle - it was after all a society full of men, where the men to women ratio was around 8:1. Everyone had needs, not everyone had money, and love and sexual encounters between men were as common as in any other, similar enviroment. There is a reason why the uber-masculine cowboy stereotype is one of the main figures in American gay iconology - think everything from “Midnight Cowboy” to The Village People and “Brokeback Mountain”.
Why Davy Perez chose to call his episode after the kettle-market town in Arizona, but also after the movie with such a strong gay subtext?
WE MAY NEVER KNOW!
