I saw the trailer for the new Fable game and, as much as I greatly dislike the SUPER-HYPER REALISM they're going for (like I genuinely hate it it's so unsettling to me, where's the Stylized Charm of the old games???), seeing all the comments on said trailer about 'Fable Going Woke' makes me want to Commit Crimes.
Like.
Tell me you've Never fucking played a Fable game without saying you've Never played a Fable game.
Now I want this new Fable game to be WILDLY successful just out of spite for these empty headed fuckheads.
Even though I’ve been playing the Fable games for years now the lore on Heroes always confused me. Like, are all of them related to the Archons and William? Or just a few of them?
Like in Fable1 the Hero of Oakvale and his mom and sister are related to William/Scythe. Then there’s the other Heroes who just arrived at the Guild to train and from what I understand they’re normal people. So are they “made” Heroes like Gabriel in Journey or do they belong to other bloodlines like Hammer does to Stone’s bloodline?
In my book series to make it easier I had the others heroes belong to different bloodlines.
Alright. I'm in a fable kick. I'm going to attempt to play Fable 1 finally. I never had the chance to growing up because our Xbox copy was not backwards compatible with my 360. I've had it on Steam for ages since 2019 but never got around to playing it. But with the new Fable coming and me working on some Fable art and reading old Fable fics, I'm starting to get that kick.
I'll keep yall updated on my journey with this if you're interested. After the wonderful family I've created with Sparrow, Reaver, Aelyn, and Logan, I'm really excited to build a new character based in this world.
Have you heard of the old man who wanders in the snow-filled forests? They say that underneath his unkempt and sorrowed appearance he is gifted with incredible magical abilities.
Though mothers of curious children will deny any interesting rumors for the purpose of dissuading her children from crossing paths with the old man, he seems to keep to himself anyway.
Whisper dies at the hands of her best friend, and wakes up a child again. She’s determined to avoid that fate, but the boy she meets is not the one she knew.

He was really going to kill her.
It sank in for Whisper then, as she saw only cold indifference in his eyes. Not even true malice – maybe it would have been easier to bear if he had secretly hated her all along. But there was nothing like that. Just empty cruelty, that saw no difference between being asked to kill balverines or his lifelong friend.
Whisper buried how much that hurt, trading it for rage instead, fury at how little her friendship mattered to him, that he was going to cut her down, and all for what? The entertainment of a bloodthirsty crowd? A promised prize?
But fighting back with all the rage she could muster still failed her.
She died, at the hands of her former and closest friend.
And then she woke up.
Not in the Arena, but back at the Guild, years younger and in her childhood bed. Right, of course, across from him, as the child she remembered growing up alongside.
The thing I like most about Jack of Blades is that he KNOWS you can’t touch him. Like after the arena when the Hero of Oakvale finds his mom’s statue Jack walks right up to him and is all like: “Yeah I have your mom. She’d LOVE to see you.”
It’s going pretty okay so far. I think I just graduated the Hero’s Guid and met Maze to find out Theresa is still alive (whoa shocker).
I really want to make this character far different than any other character I’ve ever had so I want him to be evil. So I am attempting to be as evil as I can in this game. His name is Sabre.
I am enjoying it, but haven’t had a chance to play it again due to hanging out with friends a bunch again lol.
