Among the many things I'm noticing living here in Toronto are the food delivery folks valiantly jousting about in the streets. This deliverator ran out of logical places to apply those reflective safety stickers and just crowded the rest like barnacles, where they fit. I thought at first the teal color scheme was a tasteful personal palette but have since learned that it's the official livery for the Fantuan fleet.

sooo annoyed i fell asleep (LIGHTS ON in my jeans and all) bc a) rotman supp app was kinda due tn (not actually but they “”recommend”” every1 submits b4 the early app deadline) & more importantly b) we would’ve gotten chinese takeout if i didn’t pass out w/ the fantuan cart filled on my phone at like 5 pm </3

Finally succeeded in recreating my favorite Taiwanese dish, the one I still have dreams about sometimes* - fantuan (飯糰). Cruller, pickled mustard greens, vegan “pork” floss, and tea eggs wrapped in sesame seed sticky rice, my absolute beloved.

reality:

woke up late, yes i've actually finally kicked jetlag after one full week home although the sleep isn't quite at regular work levels, which is fine! its vacation!

straight to bagel shack with my cold water and supplies, made it in great time and had the best avocado tomato LEMON PEPPER bagel, incredible spot i'd never heard of before. best part, goodwill was across the street. the goodwills have gotten so overpriced, and yet here i am still going to them. ended up getting all the work pants I could ever need, and a cute dress which I have been so lucky with finding every time I thrift. Also sweat pants for the first time in my life. still on the shopping list are men's levis and as always any cute blouses.

from there to wanderlust where they didn't have the lilikoi ice ream and said they'd get more tomorrow, so tragic but also no big deal haha. decided i wasn't hungry enough to grab taiwanese food which ALWAYS happens, so to junbi which was incredible and is now firmly in my favorite boba spots in irvine (for those wondering: 7 leaves, TP Tea, Junbi).

decided that was enough for today and made it home to catch the very very beginning of traffic, really only added 10 minutes. a nice little outing!

As Omayeli Arenyeka said in the article, “While [insert creative tool, approach, or project] can be very magical and useful, it’s not—and we as individuals are not—the answer to everything.” When creating a new research project, our starting point seems to be good intentions, but as the project progresses, the data and results collected by this project may not meet our initial expectations. Stopping the project in time might be the best solution.

These just some of the results when I do the research for NYC ramen recommend. They are not just focus on one kind of food; they collected all kinds of restaurants’ information. There are YouTube channels that people watch that relates to your topic, but it just kind of comparation between ramens. It's more about promoting a particular restaurant. My theme is to collect all existing ramen restaurants in NYC and systematically classify them according to the concentration of ramen soup and the style of ramen, so that diners can choose ramen according to their own preferences.

⭐️ Taiwan 🇹🇼 Eats ⭐️ . Taiwan Deli, located in Las Vegas Chinatown, is notable for their great hours and for authentic Taiwanese eats . The salty soy milk, pickled fantuan, and egg daikon cake are standouts but I’d skip the XLB or the oyster pancake . We chose to try Taiwan Deli because of the fantuan and stinky tofu they offer over Yummy Box and I’d do it again . Taiwan Deli reminds me of SoCal’s Huge Tree Pastry and that’s a very good thing .
