Real quick, I got a Fear Street theory.
So we all know the killers are possessed, but I have a theory that they still know what they’re doing. Hear me out, when the Goodes posses someone, you can’t just take over their body easily. So what happens is, they’re possessed but the actual them is still there. They fight against an evil force and no matter how hard they try to fight back, no matter how hard they try to stop themselves from hurting the people they love, no matter how much they scream internally, they can never win.
They only ever “win” when they can die. Like, Ryan was shot by Nick Goode, Tommy was stabbed then had his head chopped off, Ruby ended herself, Pastor Cyrus Miller was killed by Solomon Goode. It’s apart of the process. If a part of them is still there, it makes controlling them harder. When their body is killed, it kills their actual spirits which leaves them an empty shell and therefore, leaves nothing there to fight back.
I just think the idea of them seeing what they’re doing, but having some invisible evil force hold them down and not let them control their own body is depressing.

Henry Marchbanks Winter x GN!Reader
Word count: 1666
TW: religious imagery
Out of guilt and dread you end up leaving Vermont and building a new life. Just as you thought you escaped your past, you once again find yourself in its grasp.
The past haunts me. It has been years—so many I cannot begin to count, and if I’m being completely honest, I was not counting to begin with. Everything I have done was to escape that wretched part of my life in which my naivety and perhaps self-consuming passion, managed to control me. I wanted—want—to forget it all.
The first time I stepped foot into what would soon come to be one of the few select places in my nightmares was very awe-inducing. The university was large, larger than I’d imagined. The stone walls had arched indents that made it look as if it belonged in one of the novels I read as a teenager and that my family wholeheartedly despised. The hallways were a contorted maze of watchful ancient statues following every movement with their eyes, priceless antiques donated by rich parents and students with more money in their pockets than I could ever dream of having. A multitude of departments found their home in that twisted place, such as theater, arts, modern literature, architecture, history, music, philosophy, and more. I believe you can imagine my excitement when faced with the exact kind of university I dreamed of studying at, especially when I had little to no hope of ever getting anywhere close to it, much less belonging.
One thing, as you know, led to another, and I ended up as one of the infamous Greek pupils. I’m quite sure everyone thought we were some kind of cult, which, if you think about it, isn’t entirely wrong.
The first few years were everything I had ever hoped for. I felt that I had found my place and, most certainly, my kind. We used to do everything together. Being with them was the only time I truly felt alive. It doesn’t matter whether we went to the comforting country house engulfed in trees safely from the outside world, had delicious dinners debating the most obscure topics, or simply studied in the library, sleep-deprived and on immense amounts of caffeine, I always felt as if I was doing something more than just existing.
Where did it all go wrong? I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I do not want to categorize Richard’s arrival as the initiator factor, for it was not his fault. Nor is it correct to say that the Bacchanal was the beginning of it all. It wouldn’t be Henry’s doing either, at least not the start of it. I have speculated on this over the years, and I have come to only one conclusion that seems right. My theory as to what the answer is and my attempt to pinpoint the exact place on the timeline are not as precise as I hoped they would be. It was not a single event that gave birth to our ruin, but rather multiple little moments, that are rather large in the big scheme. I also like to believe that Julian had as much of a role in all of this as the rest of us. Perhaps, even a considerably more sizeable one.
Everything that happened—I wish to leave behind. However, I recently came to realise, that, to my misery, it incorporated and formed my very being. My views, my ideas, my tastes, and my activities are all, to a certain extent, if not fully influenced and ruled over by it. I am my past.
My great, futile attempts to escape the life I once had, led me to London, a perfect setting for someone who wished to hide. A bustling place, where I had the chance to not be me, but a mere shadow lurking throughout the crowded streets, observing every passerby, while trying to guess their life stories, deepest desires, and strongest fears. I was no one, and I adored it. However, my presence became known among museum guides and librarians for its consistency. I have also earned a reputation among university students for being one of the few odd professors. This is probably due to the fact that I am very selective with my pupils, and I teach a couple that are quite brilliant in my office. I often have open discussions with them, for I consider it helps them engage with the topic better and understand the meaning and philosophy behind it in such a way that encourages them to analyze, observe, and critique. One such day, we were talking about the loss of self, Plato’s four divine madnesses:
‘Death is the mother of beauty,’ said Felix, one of my students.
I nodded in approval as I propped myself up on the desk.
‘And what is beauty?’
‘Terror,’ a voice answered from my office’s door.
My life up until this moment, along with all my darkest memories and the series of events that led me to where I am today, flash before my eyes, and it feels as if the universe has stopped specifically to play along with his sadistic trick. My jaw clenches involuntarily, my eyes threaten to betray my emotions, and I have to remind myself I’m not the same brainless kid chasing empty promises and impossible dreams, fully convinced that every existing land, no matter how vast it may be, is my playground and that fate will bend according to my petulant will. I have to get out of my head, the silence is stretching. My students, probably confused, are expecting some kind of sign from my disordered self. He is waiting for a reaction. The past has finally caught up to me. After all my futile attempts, it still managed to intrude on my present’s doorway.
I take a deep breath. I look at my students, curiosity mixed with confusion clear in their expressions. I don’t need to look at him to know who he is.
‘I apologize,’ I start hoping that they cannot hear the tremble in my voice as accentuated as I seem to do, ‘class is dismissed.’
I need not say more before my students start gathering their belongings in complete silence so as to not further disturb the room completely filled with palpable animosity and perhaps something more vivid, cursed to lurk in the depths of our minds. I reach blindly toward my pack of cigarettes, lying somewhere on my desk between books and coffee-stained papers. Lucky Strikes, yet another sign of his hold on me. I light my cigarette, breathing in the curls of smoke spiraling down my throat. The sound of his leather shoes clicking against the wooden floorboards reverberates through my beating heart. I am well aware that even now, after years of attempting to escape from the rosary He entangled around my neck, I am still His most loyal devotee, respecting vigilantly every silent command. Deep and numbing smoke inside my lungs, like a relaxant, washes me with warm Indian summer waves of calmness.
He is fixating me with his cold blue eyes, watching for any sign of defiance. Over the years I’ve spent in his presence, I’ve learned to recognize his transitive facial expressions, his secretive ways, and his small habits, whether it is the way he holds a page between his fingers before turning it or his tendency to dive into long monologues about whatever interests him at that moment. It is a distinct ability that has grown its roots along my blood vessels, twisted and intertwined beyond differentiation. Understanding each other used to be our way of showing our affection. It is something so sacred that I cannot bring myself to weaponize against him and betray the bond we once had. You’d think that after so much time I’d be able to break free from the shackles His divinity holds me in and convert to a different faith. But He is nestled so deeply in me, that I cannot help but like the burns and the imprints upon my skin.
Henry Marchbanks Winter looks the same. But he now has a new pair of glasses and slight crow’s feet, along with faint smile lines framing his lips. He’s wearing one of his dark English suits, which have always fit him incredibly well. And if the wrinkles weren’t enough, the few grey hairs peeking from underneath the familiar dark colour of his hair are a brutal reminder of how much of him I missed. A cruel admonitum of the years that have passed and of all the times I wasn’t next to him, not by chance but by choice. It takes all I have in me to not fall to my knees, confess my sin, and beg for forgiveness. As if all the years I’ve been away from him turned into mere days I find myself falling back to my old habits and once again bowing down to his silent command.
Amor dominus terribilis est.
The cigarette burns, forgotten between my fingers, as I get wasted on his scent, for once, unbothered by the consequences.
‘I’ve finally found you, dilectus.’ Beloved.
‘I suppose you have.’ I cannot help but stare at him, hypnotized by the storm in his eyes.
‘I have been searching for you since the day you left.’ He reaches a gentle, steady hand to brush my cheek ‘London of all places-’
As much as I wish to let him hold me again I find myself interrupting him. ‘You have no business here.’ I walk to the open window and take my second drag from the almost fully burned cigarette.
He sighs, frustration slipping through the cracks of his perfection.
‘Like it or not,’ he emanates divine turmoil as he emphasizes every word  ‘you are my business.’
‘After so long we can’t be anything but strangers.’
‘You are wrong.’ He states immediately as I finish the sentence. ‘You cannot act as if you have forgotten everything we’ve been through.’ His hand once again finds its way to my face and caresses it with smooth, slow motions. This time I let him. ‘One more chance is all I ask for.’ He whispered.
‘One more chance.’ I agree, defeated.

Working on a danganronpa x fear street au because I'm bored and I got nothing else to do, so here's a short character list for this AU! I'll be starting off with Fear Street Part 1: 1994, Part 2: 1987 & Part 3: 1666 will come at a later point.
I really recommend watching Fear Street, it's a good movie trilogy! With that, onto the list!
DO NOT CONTINUE READING PAST THIS POINT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN FEAR STREET, THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Tumblr media
Heather Watkins – Sayaka Maizono
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reason I chose her is because she's the first girl you meet in game and the first girl who dies. Heather's the same way.
Ryan Torres – Leon Kuwata
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I chose Leon because of both he and Ryan have some girl catcher thing going on, not to mention they both become killers. (albeit one was possessed, the other was forced)
Deena Johnson – Shuichi Saihara
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In reality because the Fear Street Trilogy also counts as a LGBTQ+ film (Deena & Sam used to date), you could put anyone besides Shuichi as the main character. Reason I chose Shuichi was because Deena associates with the color blue, and she's also pessimistic and depressed at the start of the movie until the end.
Samantha Fraser – Kokichi Oma
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, Sam and Kokichi are very different characters. One's manipulative and childish while the other doesn't like to cause trouble while being quiet. The only reason I chose Kokichi is due to a couple things, one of them being Sam living in Sunnyvale (which is a rich and safe town, and since Kokichi is the Ultimate Supreme Leader, I just put two and two together.) Second, Saiouma is a popular ship and since Shuichi is Deena in this AU, I might as well make Sam Kokichi. (But other options such as Kiibo or Kaito or any other male character Shuichi's shipped with could work too.)
Josh Johnson – Yasuhiro Hagakure
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the movie, Josh is the nerd who's all about conspiracy theories, and he's smart because he's able to piece together what's been going on with Shadyside and the killers it pumps out every decade or so. Yasuhiro's all about that conspiracy stuff, and he's somewhat of a nerd (alongside Hifumi), hence why he's Josh. His best friends that he talks to like Josh does in the movie with AOL would probably be Hifumi and Gundham.
Kate Schmidt – Miu Iruma
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kate's not an inventor, I'll give you that. But in the movie she's very smart and has a good sense of what she's doing (even after she dies). She's also a very attractive girl, so who else could fit her other than the genius with good looks and golden brains herself?
Simon Kalivoda – Kazuichi Soda
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my personal opinion, I could've chosen Mikan for Simon due to both of them being cowards and having knowledge of over the counter medicine and drugs, but it just didn't feel right given Mikan also cries a lot... which is something Simon doesn't do. So I chose Kazuichi because I thought it would be more fitting in terms of personality. (Also, both of them are simps in a way)
Sheriff Nick Goode – Nagito Komaeda
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it doesn't make much sense for Nagito to be Nick, I chose Nagito because both of them wield guns (/hj) and because both of them live a lavish lifestyle where nothing bad ever happens to them. (With some exception as an Ultimate Lucky Student aka Nagito) Then again, he could also work for Sarah Fier given both of them had one hand cut off from their body...
C. Berman – Hajime Hinata
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's implied in 1978 that C. Berman and Nick Goode had a thing for each other when they were kids, and C. Berman was very pessimistic (almost like Deena) during most of the movie. It fits very well for Hajime just like Shuichi does with Deena.
Ruby Lane – Sonia Nevermind
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Halfway in the movie, Simon ends up entranced by Ruby Lane's singing which is how he ends up getting tackled and almost killed by her. I don't like to doubt that Sonia would do something similar to draw out Kazuichi if she ever decided to kill someone.
Sarah Fier – Kiyotaka Ishimaru
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it may not make sense for Ishimaru to be the witch, It's the only character I could think that would work for this AU since, and there are spoilers so don't read if you haven't seen Fear Street, Sarah Fier in the movie is a lesbian who was hung for witchcraft and had rejected a dude who loved her when she loved another woman.

How Fear Street Differentiates From Other Horror Films
Tumblr media
The filmmaker Leigh Janiak’s Fear Street films, a Netflix series based on R.L. Stine’s horror series, LGBT individuals not only are the primary protagonists, but a lesbian relationship fuels the whole plot. For Janiak, that was purposeful. It was a “opportunity to create a tale that hasn’t been done within that genre very frequently, if at all,” she noted. “That entails crafting this queer love tale that propelled everything.”  In Janiak’s perspective, Stine’s novels were typically “pretty straight and very white.” But Fear Street: 1994 which sets off the Netflix slasher trilogy that includes successors set in 1978 and 1666, offers a homosexual Black girl, Deena, as the lead. When it concerns her romance with Sam, Deena lets nothing get in the way. It’s not simple, as the films reveal. At the beginning of “1994,” Deena and Sam have split up and she poses as straight, with a boyfriend to add, in order to appease her prejudiced mother and society itself. The ’90s, as any millennial will attest, might have been an age where females mimicked major pop artists like Brandy, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, but it also made it challenging for individuals like Deena who fell outside of those cultural standards. She listens to Garbage, rocks oversized flannels and is into girls.  Society views her and automatically assume that they know who she is and what she is. Consequently, she’s been forced to take ownership of it, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy for her. She’s still an adolescent trying to figure out her identity. Other characters across the revamped world equally contradict the mainstream “wholesome, white final girl” cliché that has come to define the genre. Deena and Sam’s classmate, Kate, is an alpha Filipina American cheerleader. Deena’s brother, Josh, spends hours in AOL chat groups dedicated to conspiracy theories concerning the innumerable killings that have afflicted their town, Shadyside, for years. There’s also Martin, the conscientious mall attendant who’s continuously profiled by the cops. These individuals don't merely play supporting parts or function as jokes for the main characters. They serve as the narrative's main characters. In addition to creating a fun, truly terrifying trilogy that intelligently pays tribute to classics like “Scream” and “Friday the 13th,” Janiak wanted to cast “a light on a whole community of disadvantaged individuals who have been taught that they’re outside.” They are the heroes as well. Deena makes a significant promise to Sam in a touching scene from the movie "1994," just before the former quits rejecting her affections for her. In Fear Street, the promise of a future feels more meaningful as it signifies a shift that demands Deena to be taken back to 1666. There Sarah Fier, the lesbian woman who was hung for being in love with another woman and punished as a witch, could fight for justice against the same prejudice and violence that separates Deena and Sam today. Janiak intended to emphasize in "1666" that women who were accused of being witches in that time just didn't fit the stereotype.  They were dubbed witches “because they were different, because they were staring too long at the other girl, or because they didn’t want to get married,” she claimed. “They weren’t falling in line with whatever society lines were.” As it turns out, the alienation that humankind conveys is just as deadly as a witch’s curse, if not more so. It helped Janiak to go beyond the otherworldly worries to study the faults of society. Even if there is undoubtedly considerable bloodshed along the road, the Fear Street movies ultimately have aspirational themes. Sam and Deena contribute to the town's recovery, but more importantly, they maintain their romantic relationship. While smaller, independent films were more likely to contain gay themes, the LGBTQ+ movement is begun to demand more of the big production corporations. Seeing the success Fear Street achieved, these larger corporations may be more willing to take a chance on LGBT storytelling in future horror films.

The constant lesbian urge to always want to rewatch any of the Scream movies and Fear Street 1994 parts. Glad Scream 6 news is keeping me hyped. But for the life of me cannot figure out why Netflix will not confirm anything about the new Fear Street film and it's been six months since we've known about it plus insiders confirming there's a director lined up. Also, that preview of the new Netflix films coming this year and there's not one horror film on there. I'm not amused...lol
Right! I feel this urge hourly lol I was just looking at gif set and watching the same gif of Sam and Deena over and over again and getting absolutely submerged in feels lol I had to make myself close out of it. But I get this, anon, I feel this.
Also very excited about Scream 6...feeling perfectly normal about it. Totally fine about the fact that the trailer is coming out tomorrow. It's fine, fine, everything totally fine and normal yup.
This still just goes back to my theory that Netflix just doesn't understand what they have with Fear Street. I truly think they don't understand what drew people to it, or the importance of the movies, or what it is that people like and connect with. Not to say that they won't be able to make a good horror movie but I'm not sure they'll be able to make something like 1994/1666 (basically I feel like they might recreate or imitate 1978 which...)

I am once again ranting about Fear street 1994/1978 so SPOILERS BELOW SCROLL FAST SCROLL FAR
....
.
.
.
a little more
.
.
alright, so i rewatched both movies yesterday while rigorously taking notes (who got killed, the lore, the childrens rhymes etc) and here is what i believe will happen/happened in 1666
out of all the rhymes, one that stuck with me was
"A deal was made with the devil"
Out of all the lines, this one is the only one written in a passive voice. (sorry this next bit is gonna be me flexing my 99% done english bachelors degree) The passive voice is often used in order to shift blame. Think of when people in power say things like "mistakes were made", they are not taking responsibility but rather adress that mistakes happened, and refuse to say who made them.
This has led me to believe that someone made a deal with the devil, not necessarily Sarah but someone who had the influence to create a new narrative in which she could take the blame.
Furthermore, we see the rhyme Simon and Kate sang ("She reaches from beyond the grave,...) BACKWARDS which leads me to believe that Sarah Fier is not supposed to be taking your blood but be GIVEN it. If you give her your blood, and you let her into your head, she will be with you forever.
The whole thing screams SOMEONE ELSE TOOK HOLD OF THE NARRATIVE when it comes to what really happened.
Now onto the references made Stephen King. Ziggy and Nick make references to Carrie, which if you dont recall is about a girl who suffers under her abusive mother for years and suppresses her gift of telekinesis and pyrokinesis until she snaps. She gets her revenge on those who wronged her by burning it all down. Then, Nick makes a reference to 'Salems lot. I had to look it up, but the gist of the story was that Stephen King tried to answer the question "What if Dracula returned to the 20th century". The story includes, again, HEAVY religious symbolism and following certain (vampire) rules to STAY SAFE. In the story, the head vamp is in the process of turning children into vampires.
So, now to what I havent yet seen. 1666. My theory is that in 1666 there was a preacher and the later Sunnyvale founders who were on top of the food chain in society. The (for the time) rich, powerful, with grand dreams of how the settlement would be built. Those below them on the food chain, slaves, women, laborers, were ruled by the rich and powerful. Their labors were never enough and on top of that they had to follow strict rules about how to act around those "above them".
Behind the scenes, the preacher, or someone else who worked for him, tried to take a shortcut to make the settlement grow faster, better crops, better weather, more wealth. The shortcut was devil worship. Aand it backfired. This caused a commotion, bad fortune and death. They needed a scapegoat. Before anyone would know who it really was. Sarah Fier would have been a poor woman with low social standing and already a beef with the preacher. The perfect witch, who would want to destroy the town after all she had suffered for it.
Its important to note that throughout 1994 and 1978, we've been shown that no matter which side youre from you arent any different. In 1978, Shadysiders and Sunnyvalers are shown ad being capable of being mean as well as kind. Sunnyvalers are simply raised to believe they are better, and that they should always strive to put down Shadysiders (see that bitch Sheila).
Sarah was probably not the worst in Union. Probably not the first to protest the social standing of her and the other lower class people. But she was dangerous, she spoke out and she possibly had something romantic going on with the preachers daughter.
So, she was put through torturous trials to prove she wasnt a witch. Preacher probably used his own periphenalia as "hers" ( which is how she found out about rituals and they framed her even better).
We've seen it before how Ziggy and Sam we're able to "survive by dying". This was an interesting way to put it so I figures there was something more to it. Sarah Fier could have used what she learned from the devil worship books and created a spell to keep "herself" alive even after death. She survived in SPIRIT by DYING.
Her spirit continues to haunt the area, trying to tell the people the truth. Whenever someone is near her body/hand, they bleed and are then able to bleed on the bones to see HER. Well who are the Killers then?
The Shadyside killers were made by Sunnyvalers, descendants of those who hung Sarah Fier. They know what their ancestors did. Once they found out about what Sarah Fier had done, they hatched a plan to keep her down. They moved far enough away from the campsite and MOVED HER BODY to control the area in which she had influence. They then did some more devil worship to influence Shadysiders to kill each other and created the myth of Sarah Fier to cover it. THEY LITERALLY BLAME THEIR OWN WRONGDOINGS ON HER AGAIN.
so, yeah. uniting the body and hand is the key to finding this all out. if any of rhis is remotely right im gonna piss myself from excitement

I think we all knew the goode family would turn out to be the real villains of the story but can we take a moment to acknowledge how sarah fier was 100% down with making a deal with the devil and cursing the whole town because those puritan homophobes wanted to hang her girlfriend. #girlboss

I was wondering why Ziggy didn't end up possessed in the end of Fear Street 1978 while Sam does end up possessed in 1994 after "beating" the curse. I think it's because Nick is protecting Ziggy in some fashion from his family because he loves her
A lot of the Fear Street books are based around the idea of forbidden love. Usually expressed as a Fier and Goode falling in love with one another. The movies have broadened this definition to a Shadyshider and a Sunnyvaler falling in love (and queer love, i think). Deena is living in Shadyshide and Sam is now living in Sunnyvale with her mom. Nick is from Sunnyvale and Ziggy is from Shadyshide. It wouldn't be shocking to find out this is part of the pattern from jump. Someone from Shadyshide and someone from Sunnyvale fall in love and it somehow triggers the curse or the Goode's have ears and eyes everywhere so when they see it happen they posses another Shadyshider to keep it from happening and ritual sacrifice
TLDR: The possibility of love between two groups of ppl who hate each other is probably key to breaking the curse

Why is the number of killers so inconsistent whenever someone bleeds on the bones, and what’s the “typical” number?
There have been several questions floating around the FS fandom pertaining to the lore, like who took the book at the end of ‘94? Before 1666 came out, a big one was why Ziggy wasn’t possessed while Sam was. But this particular one has bugged me for a while, and I think I’ve got an answer.
Before we get into the theory part of this post, I want to take some time to assess the canonical information we have.
The first time we see someone bleed on the bones, it’s Sam. The dates in 1994 are a little iffy, but at the end of the first movie, while Nick is recording the kids’ statements, he says the date is October 4th. Since it’s the morning of October 4th and the kids were being attacked the previous night, I’m going to assume that Sam bled on the bones on October 2nd.
So she bleeds on the bones on October 2nd, and then the next night, she and Deena are attacked in the hospital by Ryan. Ruby attacks Simon a short while later, and then Tommy follows, also not too long after the previous attacks. While I’m not entirely sure why the killers didn’t go after Sam on the 2nd and waited until the 3rd, the actual “hunt” started the next night and ended some hours later, with three killers coming after her, all of them being the last three sacrifices.
Next to bleed on the bones (in movie order) is Ziggy. This happens on the night of July 19th, and, if the movie’s timing is mostly accurate, which I’m inclined to think so considering how there wasn’t any side action and it all happened in one place, she died around ten minutes later, give or take. During that ten minutes, we see four killers, also the last four sacrifices. I’ll get to why that’s weird in a minute.
The last person we see bleeding on the bones is Deena. She either bleeds on the bones very late on October 4th or very early on October 5th, considering it’s daylight when she and Sam walk out of Nick’s house. Deena is a special case, considering she reconnected Sarah’s hand and learned the whole story. This is very important to my theory, and I will explain in a bit.
Deena is a target for at least an hour (we don’t have the best look at how long it took), but we see six killers after her. I know Sam was also possessed at the time and most likely went after Deena specifically because she bled on the bones, but I’m not counting her since she’s not undead. All of the undead killers were the last six sacrifices.
None of these numbers are consistent, and with the number of killers after Ziggy compared to Sam, it’s definitely not time-sensitive. The only thing that is consistent is that all of the killers are the last _ sacrifices that had been named. No skipping around, no picking and choosing, always chronological (kind of).
So what’s the typical number of killers resurrected after someone bleeds on the bones?
I think that the typical number of killers is three. Specifically, the last three sacrifices.
Sam was being chased for several hours. During those few hours, we only see three killers - Ryan, Tommy, and Ruby. 1994, 1978, and 1965. Why three, I’m not entirely sure, but I think three undead murderers would be enough to quickly kill a person, and I think Satan does, too.
But what about Ziggy?
In Ziggy’s case, Tommy had died very, very recently. Like, his body wasn’t even cold. His corpse was just lying there in the mess hall with Ziggy, Cindy, and Alice. I think that, since it was so recent, the Devil ended up resurrecting him as well as the other three, either for convenience’s sake or out of habit. Still, they all go in chronological order - 1978, 1965, 1953/50 (Leigh give us one date for Harry’s initial possession please), 1922.
And Deena?
With Deena, she reconnected Sarah’s hand. Instead of just the images Sarah showed to Sam and Ziggy, she relived the whole thing. To put it simply, it is likely the Devil went into “oh fuck” mode and deployed a lot more killers than usual - double the usual, actually - to get rid of her quicker and save the pact. Why they took so long to come after her when they were coming from the mall baffles me, but that is not what this theory is about.
So there you have it! This has been sitting in my drafts for a while, and I was finally able to fully articulate my thoughts, which took a surprisingly long amount of time to do. I hope this theory was at least semi-coherent and made some sense, and I hope you enjoyed it.

FEAR STREET PART II: 1978
Deena: My girlfriend is possessed by her and tied up in a trunk… I can’t let her die! I won’t! I love her!
(IM SOBBING 🥺😭 My Sameena crumbs)
The previously on part is so perfect but they chose violence with adding Deena's line ([Its Over]) to Sam's death scene.
Sadie Sink is like Keira Knightley with the whole “no I will not act in the present give me roles before Wi-Fi and mobile phones”
Ziggy and Max (from Stranger Things) would totally be friends.
1978 is alright but I miss my gays
Deena's Sarah Fier era is coming me thinks.
You notice how Deena's nose always starts bleeding when she is close to Sarah's grave? ✨Reincarnation ✨
Wait does it mean Deena is gonna see her and Sam/Sarah and Hannah being soulmates in 1666???
OMG WAIT Possessed Sam is still in the bathroom of Christine and Christine called Nick there…if they hurt her… I swear Sarah’s curse will be the last thing they have to worry about.
Also Cindy’s death?? Why? It was Simon and Kate all over again. She was clearly dead DEAD and he kept swinging the machete on her chest.

Fear Street: 1978 comes out tomorrow! Who’s ready?!
As let down as I was to see the significant changes from the series it’s supposed to be based on, we all know I can’t resist a good twisted mystery, and Sarah Fier’s curse definitely counts as that.
I should probably give 1994 a rewatch, but here are just a few things that stood out to me the first time:
***Spoilers for 1994 below***
Sam Fraser and C. Berman are different.
We meet several people whom Sarah Fier has driven to kill throughout the first movie: Ryan in present day, the masked Camp Nightwing killer in 1978, and Ruby Lane in 1965. But if Sarah’s only goal is to find a new puppet to start a massacre every few years, then why go after Sam when she already has Ryan, who she can control even after death? Why does she continue to haunt C. Berman? I’ve seen some people theorize about Sam having the same initials as Sarah Fier, but that doesn’t track for C. Berman unless she changed her name. It could just be that she sees them as unfinished business: Sam disturbed her grave, and C. is the one Nightwing survivor. I think it’s possible that there’s some other connection between them, but it’s hard to say without knowing yet whether Sarah targeted C. the way she targeted Sam, or whether C. was just another random victim.
There’s more to the story of Sarah Fier.
Naturally, when I hear the story of a witch who cursed a good pastor and compelled him to cut out children’s eyes, my first thought is that Pastor Cyrus Miller took advantage of the witch hysteria and used an innocent woman as a scapegoat for his own evil deeds, sentencing her to death and turning her into an evil spirit. It’s a pretty classic twist, but in this case I’m not sure things will be so simple, and that’s because of the books. Whether Sarah Fier is an evil witch or a vengeful victim, it’s still quite a role reversal from the origin story in The Fear Street Saga.
I won’t spoil much, but in that trilogy, things start in 1692 with the death of sweet Susannah Goode, accused of witchcraft by Benjamin Fier because he didn’t want his son to marry someone so poor. The Fiers were cursed for his greed, igniting a feud between the two families. The next books span over 200 years, detailing several murderous meetings, the change of the name Fier to Fear, and the point at which the Fear family moves to Shadyside and establishes Fear Street.
So, yes, very different premise, but I’m still looking for some connection. Theoretically, with Sarah Fier’s death occurring before the first events in the books, they could actually add onto the lore and say that she was from another branch of the Fier family and the Fears who move to Shadyside later do so because they used to have family there. But I think that’s quite a stretch. Still, since the entire point of the novels is the feud between the Fears and Goodes, and the Goode family still seems to exist in the movie universe, I’m really pulling for a tie-in.
Which brings me to...
The Goodes have something to do with Sunnyvale’s darkness.
Shadyside and Sunnyvale are opposites in every way. Shadyside is poor; Sunnyvale is rich. Shadyside is the murder capital of the country; Sunnyvale has no crime to speak of. Shadyside is haunted by Sarah Fier; Sunnyvale’s mayor is William Goode. So, maybe I’m onto something with looking at the blood feud from the books. At the very least, we know that Nick Goode, fairly neutral sheriff of both towns and William’s brother (another subtle nod to the books), knows more than he’s let on so far—and so does whoever he slipped that note to.
The other clue to a feud is the fact that Shadyside and Sunnyvale used to be one colony. It was even called Union. Symbolism, anyone? And continuing on that train of thought is the fact that while Shadyside’s mascot is a witch, Sunnyvale—bright, lovely Sunnyvale run by the Goodes where no crime ever happens—has a devil mascot.
Now, back in Sarah’s time, people believed that witches served the devil, so what does this connection mean? It doesn’t seem crazy to say that the citizens of Sunnyvale (the Goodes in particular) might have made a pact with the devil in exchange for good fortune, and it could make sense that they sacrificed Sarah Fier to do it. Maybe Sarah truly is just the devil’s servant, forced to kill the people in Shadyside as sacrifices for Sunnyvale’s continued prosperity. Actually, if that is the real story, I’d bet that Pastor Cyrus Miller was actually the devil himself, summoned by the Goodes and given the children as payment. Maybe Sarah was an innocent woman they burned as a scapegoat, or maybe she was the witch they asked to summon the devil, and then they killed her so no one would know what they’d done. Or, maybe what divided the town was Sarah somehow breaking her “union” with the devil. Perhaps she refused to do as he asked.
Or maybe I’m completely wrong. But I do think the actual devil is involved somehow. The fact that Sarah was killed in 1666 is just too cheesy and dumb for the writers to have chosen it randomly. I also just don’t believe that the whole nursery rhyme story of Sarah making “good men her wicked slaves” can be taken for truth. I really want the lyrics to actually be about Goode men.

Fear Street Spoilers ahead!!!!! Just to clarify: it got tiresome writing Shadyside and Sunnyvale so I'll refer to them as SS and SV. Ok, now this might be far fetched but I think (and hope) that this is the direction that Fear Street part 3 will take.  I think that what happened was that back when SS and SV were The Union, things were bad for the people who lived there. I believe that someone (most likely the person who accused Sarah of being a witch) decided to do a deal with the devil (oh just like SV's football mascot)and Sarah discovered them.  She wanted to reveal what they were doing but was used as a scapegoat; she was accused of witchcraft, sliced her hand off to give credibility to the narrative, efectively silenced and made to blame for all of SS's misfortune.  I think that the culprit(s) most likely had a faction of followers who would eventually move to SV and make sure that no one ever found out the truth. Hence why everyone in SV acts/feels superior to SS. Of course this could just be that typical rich/poor or privileged/disadvantaged. But the extremes to which SV people go to mention the witch over and over seems a bit like it's their parents/adults egging them on and keeping the story alive. Not to mention the fact that " Sarah Fier's minions" never actively try to harm people who are from SV. Yes, in part 1 Peter is killed, but I think that only happened because he was directly in front of Sam when he gets killed. Also, none of the children murdered in part 2 are from SV. I think that up to 1992, the deal that the culprit made with the devil was still working, resulting in prosperity and wealth for SV while SS paid the price. It would be a great way to misdirect attention from the real culprits by having SS people "just snapping", drawing suspicion away from SV. Everytime that people from SS are killed, they are serving as human sacrifices to continue upholding the deal. What is extremely suspicious is that it seems like someone is still actively trying to make sure that no one reunites Sarah Fier's body with her hand. Someone even bothered to move her body from beneath the hanging tree and left a taunting message in a rock; that body was then left in a random place off the road. Not to mention that we see a hooded figure who is in the cave when the SS murderers are being brought back. The fact that they were wearing a hood makes me think it might be someone from SV (maybe the mayor) who continues practicing witchcraft in order to make sure no one finds out the truth.  If no one finds out that Sarah Fier was innocent, SV continues to reap the benefits that SS's misery gives them.  The newspaper clippings in part one set up the juxtaposition of SS vs SV and it's honestly pretty SHADY. NO violent crime! In a rich town? Anyone could have gone from a different town to commit crimes there, especially SS kids with a grudge. Now in part 2, we see that after Alice touched the "heart" in the cave, some of the past SS killers come back. For some unknown reason, they had been hibernating in that part of the cave (instead of being used by the witch to create even more terror) and come back. In part 1, we only see three of the killers, one of which is the killer in part 2. I think that the curse might be weakening. And that gives Sarah a chance to look for someone who can break the curse on SS. That's where Sam comes into play. Up to this point, various people have helped set up the stage so that the curse can be broken. Nurse Lane researched a lot about Sarah Fier, uncovering the map of the cave, a map of The Union from the past, the list of the SS murders and an entirely different chant from the one that SS and SV kids knew; this chant was crucial in helping them figure out where the hand was and how to break the curse.  Ziggy, Cindy and Alice played a part in finding more about the curse and locating the hand.
Then, Sam inadvertently stumbles upon Sarah Fier's bones that Ziggy and Cindy were unable to find. I think that when Sam's blood came into contact with the bones, Sarah Fier showed her images to try to help her understand what had happened to her. Because of that, the real culprit makes it so that the past SS murderers will target Sam in order to keep her from finding out the truth.  Sadly, she becomes possessed and Deena has to step in.  The reason that I am so convinced that Sarah Fier is not behind the curse is because back in middle school, I read many Fear Street books. R.L. Stine always includes twists in his books.  In the Fear Street trilogy, he explains why bad things happen in Fear Street. As soon as they mentioned "the witch" I remembered The Betrayal, which includes a character that gets accused of witchcraft, Susannah Goode. Yes, Goode, not Fier. Benjamin and Matthew Fier are the ones who accused her, and her mother, of witchcraft to seperate Susannah from Edward Fier, Benjamin's son. Ironically, the real witch was Susannah's father, William Goode, AND Matthew Fier.  I think that in Fear Street part 3, it'll be revealed that Sarah's last name is Goode, not Fier.  Thanks to Deena going to C. Berman, who then goes on to relate all of what she knows, Sarah Fier's body and hand are reunited. And the stage is set.

Search 'Left-hand path and right-hand path' on Wikipedia. Almost the same image of Baphomet in the opening credits, symbol of "Left-Hand Path". <p>Left-hand path adopts breaking of taboo and reject social convention...abandoning of set morality...homosexuals were referred to as "left-handed"... <p>Don't you think it's related to Sarah Fier cut her right hand?
Oh, wow, I did not put that much thought into it at all, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the writers included that little nod, there all kinds of Easter eggs and homages to past slashers, I'm sure they did their research on this enough to know what they were doing as well. It might only remain a kind of little thrill for those in the know, but good catch, anon!
And another anon:
I rewatched Fear Street, was trying to figure out how the opening murders tie in and why Ryan was chosen. Think it has something to do with the tree in the middle of the food court, prob where the hanging happened. Also definitely think Sunnyvale is part of it somehow. Their team name are the Devils and Shadyside's are the Witches and the opening credits it says Sunnyvale has had no murders. Is it also a coincidence Sam has same initials as the witch?? That's all I picked up in 2nd watch!
Hmm, I hadn't thought of Ryan--or any of the killers so far--being chosen for a reason. But that's actually a good point, why them? Because it feels like Sam getting possessed is for a specific reason, and that first pastor dude, so why not the rest? Maybe some kind of blood line? Since they're all Shadysiders?
The tree...I don't remember it at all, lol. And I'm not sure how it's related to the rest. Sunnyvale has to be involved, for sure, Devils and Witches, come on.
Heh, yeah, SF...definitely seems too much to be a coincidence, but how does that explain the casting? Unless the IMDB page is wrong.
And another anon:
do you think being touched snaps sam put of the trance or is it specifically deenas touch? bc peter was calling her name and she didn’t snap out of it
The romantic in me--or even the movie fan in me--wants to speculate that it's because it's Deena, like, usually I'd say we're reading too much into it out of wishful thinking but we didn't make up their connection going back to 1666. So honestly, it could have been that it's Deena.
And another anon:
It's the mom... I bet the witch is the mom (sam's)...
Another thought... what if it's deena's mom?!?! She's been unseen so far. If the preacher is Sam's dad (in 1666) then the witch could have been put to death because of Sam's dad therefore deena's mom always recognizes his descendants and hates them and ,the town he led, forever...
Hmm, unseen so far usually means that character isn't someone they're setting up to be a twist reveal, but I'm not sure if the witch is actually an existing reincarnated character? Because then there wouldn't need to be possession or all this? I figured it was just this...spirit. But it's certainly an interesting possibility, that there's another current character wandering around. And I suppose Deena's mom could still appear in Part 2 in time to set up the surprise. But why curse people to kill her kid?? Sam's mom sucks but Sam was also the target for a while...

Theory for fear street 1666:
I think the main curse where someone goes crazy and murders a bunch of shadysiders wasn’t cast by sarah fier.
But I think the part where blood falls on her bones and all the previous killers come out to hunt might have been cast by her. That or it was an unintentional side affect of the main curse.

I know that the Fear Street movies fandom is kinda dead BUT I have a theory/observation and I wanna know if any one else noticed this (spoilers for all 3 movies):
In 1666 the 12 children who die in the chapel include Constance and Henry, who are Ziggy and Josh. BUT among the dead children are 2 black (twin?) girls leaning on each other. And Kate, Simon, Cindy and Sam's 1666 counterparts survived. And in 1994, Kate was babysitting 2 black twins who did not die. But in 78 and 94, Kate, Simon and Cindy die.
Were the kids in 1666 who died in the church purposefully spared when they were reincarnated? And were the people who were spared in 1666 supposed to die later when they were reincarnated?
Idk maybe its a stretch but its definitely coincidental right?
