i know that atsv and spiderverse in general is probably not including Gabe for various reasons and therefore when Mig took his alt selfs place he wasnt actually leaving anyone behind. he said something along the lines of “i found a universe where i was happy” which kinda screams that something was fucked up with his home one, i’d like to think more than usual because the other explanation is that he just left like all his family behind. Which is extremely messed up but also on the other hand a little funny
like imagine being gabe here. Imagine your older brother fucks off to another universe because of his depression and comes back with even worse depression ranting some shit about canon events. You have to be told where he went by his AI because god knows your brother has all the communication skills of a rusty spoon. Have to be told he fucking left with no intention of coming back

#19 for the ask game!!
how do they silently express love because they are so cute I cannot do this I am GOING TO COMBUST
19. How do they silently/subtly express their love for each other?
adam flies like 5 cities over to buy new teas for steven every month so he feels very cozy :D steven thinks hes just getting them at the store lol (yes adam has sleeves this time! its october rn in my mind for them!! u know how fionna's world existed in simon's head? theyre in MY head)
i strongly hc adam has night time anxiety and needs nice smoothing stimulation to go to sleep (not projecting, why would i need asmr to sleep? oh btw i added my asmr recs playlist in my pinned post :3) anyway, steven whispers his lecture notes for the next day and combs adams hair and down his back and arms like a massage but its mostly just combing motions. i think adam would have an eye mask but i wanted to draw his eepy lil face :3

okay so i’m doing another old blog deep dive and came across this boss leader fanart by a deleted user. ‘haha bug spirit’ my brain goes in a burst of inspiration. ‘haha like the one in ch4’ ‘haha maybe thats boss leaders dream spirit’ ‘haha except it cant be because BL IS the dream spirit herself’ ‘haha but wait if she’s a spirit then she’d probably need SOME kind of physical form right. like she can have the power to control dreams but wouldnt she still need a body’ ‘wait’
boss leader has shown she’s able to drastically change her physical form in the dreamscape- to the point of being able to pose as different renditions of herself for decades. given this ability to control her appearance, and most essentially her masquerade as a spectral, i’m led to believe that the form we see is more of a mental projection, and that she has a corporeal form out in the physical world DIFFERENT to the one we’re introduced to her with. which is where i’d like to propose:
THE ZIPPER BUG SPIRIT WE SAW IN CHAPTER 4 WASNT SOME RANDOM MYSTERY SPIRIT. THAT WAS BOSS LEADER
The part about the Ch4 subterranean bug spirit’s design that always got me was how much it resembled the Consortium’s suitsies. At first I thought maybe it was a spirit working FOR the Consortium, wearing a suitsie, but that ultimately seemed silly. But what if that wasn’t a complete coincidence? What if that was the one part of Boss Leader’s body that she liked and decided to keep? Look:
What a fascinating design similarity! Huh weird where do I remember her making a bug joke before OH WAIT THATS RIGHT
And isn’t it just fascinating how that spirit saves Max! Almost as if it knew there was going to be a specific group of people on that train tonight! Almost as if it knew said train was going to be there picking up a Consortium agent! A Consortium agent sent under the orders of Boss Leader herself! Well thats cool but I’m sure its just another coincide-
INTERESTING.
i have more on this but i needed to vomit this out before i lost my train (aha) of thought . i think im onto something here. please share thoughts

Mitsunoko :3c
@saltyfilmmajor NANCY HI I KNOW IT'S YOU
so I've waited until I'm stuck on a bus for about an hour to answer this on my phone bc otherwise it's going to turn into a 10 page propaganda manifesto with screenshots and I do not actually have the spoons for that.
they make me UNWELL.
Ship It
1. What made you ship it?
my beloved friend @twotwinks was playing through Ace Attorney Investigations and liveblogging it at me. and at one point jhe sent me a screenshot where Itonokogiri swears to follow Mitsurugi through thick and thin. and then was promptly dragged away from him kicking and screaming.
famous last words
jhe then started microdosing me with content about these two in the games, and after I told my treasured friend @maverickcalf about it they also started putting posts about them on my dash. and it took about three weeks before I caved and read through the entire ao3 tag of the ship in one night and. the rest is history, as they might say.
ive always had a passing interest in Gyakuten Saiban but just never got around to getting into it properly. I'd bought and played through a bit of GS6 when it first came out but didn't get very far bc of my limited Japanese then. when MT got really into it I thought it was the perfect chance for me to familiarize myself with the franchise (nothing better than a friend that infodumps) but I. never expected to fall into the franchise as hard as I did, especially not in This Specific Way. this will now be my entire personality for the next three years.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
god where do I START.
I think what really does strike me is in the first game, how much they clearly trust each other. Itonokogiri is Loud about it so we know clearly where he stands, but while Mitsurugi doesn't say it out loud there are so many scenes where his actions dictate he does trust Itonokogiri. small instances that makes you go HUH. like the fact that he feels bad about keeping things from Itonokogiri in Turnabout Goodbyes!! and the fact that Naruhodou suspected it would hurt him and WEAPONIZED that against him. like. GOD. WHAT THE FUCK. HOW IS THAT CANON.
another thing I love so much about them is that despite fitting the stereotypical roles of a smart character + a not so bright character, Mitsurugi is never condescending to Itonokogiri. it delighted me so much in Gyakuten Kenji 1 where Itonokogiri would have a question about something, and Mitsurugi would just explain it very plainly and straightforwardly to him, without judgement. it means so much to me!!! he never calls him dumb or stupid to his face!! even in his thoughts the most he does is phrase it tactfully in a way that doesn't outright insult Itonokogiri whenever he does something unexpected. I just. oughhh I love them so much.
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
oh boy do I.
having only played the games in Japanese and only learned about the changes made in the English version through my friends, I strongly believe the English localization of the franchise is at best a pale comparison to the original and at worst a purposeful character assassination of many of the characters, ESPECIALLY Itonokogiri. to me, Ace Attorney is a completely different franchise from Gyakuten Saiban and the characters in the localization are not and will never be the same characters as the ones in the original. I respect the people in the fandom that love version of the ship and the characters in the localization but I need people to understand. they have a very different vibe from the original version of them. because Itonokogiri, a Japanese man, not understanding what a ceiling fan (katakana) is, and Gumshoe, an American, not understanding what a ceiling fan (English) is, have very different implications, and Mitsurugi's and Edgeworth's reactions differ greatly based on that.
I can never engage with the English-speaking fandom at large bc of that and it saddens me, but at this point I care about Mitsurugi and Itonokogiri's characterization in the original Japanese versions of the games Too Much to compromise on it.
oh and even among jp fans I am camp mitsunoko instead of nokomitsu (it's less about the top and bottom thing and more about the vibes and dynamics bc on GOD Itonokogiri would NEVER be the one to make the first move are you KIDDING ME) and that pigeonholes me into an even MORE niche corner LMAO.
anyway I think that still turned out longer than I meant for it to be sgskhsjs but godddd they plague my every waking thought. ITONOKOGIRI CHECKS UP ON MITSURUGI AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE. MITSURUGI ONLY TOLD ITONOKOGIRI ABOUT HIS TRIP ABROAD AND NO ONE ELSE. THEY CAN'T COMMUNICATE FOR SHIT AND NEVER TALK ABOUT ANYTHING BUT THEY KNOW EACH OTHER SO WELL. WHY ARE THEY LIKE THIS.

that comic you reblogged made me feel things! would you recommend gregor the overlander?
YES YES YES OH MY GOD YES
gregor the overlander is the first book in the underland chronicles, a 5-book middle grade series by suzanne collins. and it is my FAVORITE book series ever. i didn't read it until i was like 20 and i was still blown away.
the story follows gregor, an 11-year-old boy who falls into a world called the underland, where humans live alongside giant talking bats, rats, spiders, all the creepy-crawly creatures. the humans have been at war with the rats for hundreds of years, and there are a bunch of prophecies about a warrior who's meant to save them. gregor is that warrior.
overall, the series is equal parts funny and deeply sad, and the relationships between the characters (like the one featured in the comic) are well-developed and one of my favorite parts of the series. it explores themes of war, family, responsibility, fate, and identity, and it doesn't shy away from showing how a kid experiencing all this violence is going to affect them.
the first book is a nice introduction to the world and characters, but the real meat of the story and the overarching plot begin in book 2. also, if you liked the hunger games, this is the same author!
