It's at a dog park that you two meet.

Kate of course takes Lucky- she was off on a mission for a few days and she wants him to have some fun.

And you take your black lab named Cocoa.

You like to come to the park sometimes but it's usually so crowded that you avoid it.

Your Cocoa only has three legs so you practice caution, not wanting her to have any accidents.

But today it's just you and a few other people, including a beautiful brunette a few feet away.

You find yourself staring at her, enamored by her laugh and how much fun she is having with her dog. And the dog is absolutely adorable and so smart

You notice he's missing an eye which makes you curious, and want to talk to his owner even more.

As you're deep in thought you feel something hit your head and you yelp out in shock, mouth agape. What just happened?

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry, I usually have a better aim than that. I'm an archer, I'm like really good at it." The beautiful brunette was now in front of you rambling, and you couldn't help but laugh a little.

"It's fine, it didn't hurt. Good thing it was a soft ball." You say with a chuckle and she nods, relieved that you aren't mad and even laughing about it.

"Right? Yeah, that's good. Still, I'm really sorry. Uh, I'm Kate Bishop." She extends her hand and you give it a shake and give your name.

"Uh... Maybe to make up for hitting you in the head, I can take you out for coffee?" She asked, brown eyes hopeful and eager and you grinned and how cute she was.

"Oh I don't know, I don't usually go out with people that hit me with balls.." you say teasingly making Kate laugh.

"Well to be fair, you said it didn't hurt."

"Hmm, yeah that's true. Alright, I'd love some coffee."

Harrowhark doesn't really *do* the whole relationship thing. Sheʻs absolutely obsessed with her cavalier and she saw God have a threesome once but her true love is very much dead and locked away. Awkward fr.

Ianthe might be "evil" or "slimy" as some haters might claim. But the tension??? Their tongues have touched for practical reasons and Iantheʻs attempts at flirting are iconic so they might as well let some tension out. Just saying.

Uraraka is the good girl. Sheʻs cute and thoughtful and is always looking out for her family and her friends. So why does she have more chemistry with the mentally ill criminal with a blood kink than with her supposed love interest. All Iʻm saying is Toga can take care of herself and other people, Uraraka could be the coddled for once instead of worrying about when some UA boy or other is getting kidnapped or his bones broken. Again. Let them explore crushes and sexuality and bi identity together. Just saying.

Femslash Friday: Couples That Never Were But Should Have Been Vol. 1

I’ve always had a crush on Jennifer Jareau of Criminal Minds, especially in the early seasons, pre-Will, during the Hoop Earrings Era.

And I think Emily Prentiss had all the makings of a great lesbian character. She just had that energy, y’know? But it was bottled up, held back. 

Scenes where they tried to make her out to be more of a ‘no-social life having dork’ outside of work (like a Reid-ified version of JJ)--those moments felt kinda foreign to me. And the “just one of the gals” hang out scenes with Penelope and JJ just made her feel...generic compared to the other two.

But then maybe the “phoniness/blandness” of her personality was on purpose since they did that weird “secret government spy” thing with her down the line, I dunno. I couldn’t stand any of that. What in the Jack Ryan were they thinking doing a Homeland-esque plot in a show about backyard terrors?

Annnyway, I think Emily could’ve easily pulled off a more “Derek Morgan” persona, only not as a flashy-cool-kid-playboi but rather as someone more...gentlemanly. With a subtly confident suavity about her. 

I love imagining scenes of her flirting with JJ on the plane. 

JJ already had a “classy class president” vibe, which I imagine would make her resist Emily’s attempt to flirt and even try to scold/lecture her about it with an amused roll of the eyes. 

And then when Emily looks/walks away still sporting a charming half-grin or a smirk, JJ totally smiles a bit to herself because she’s secretly totally charmed but keeps making up all these “practical” excuses as to why she shouldn’t pursue it. 

And of course Penelope would be the first to pick up on their unspoken crush over the course of however many seasons and tell JJ she’s being a big dummy for denying her feelings in that totally supportive way only a true BFF can. 

Garcia can collude with Reid and Morgan (Emily’s BFF/confidant in this scenario) to set the ladies up on their first date at the end of a hard episode! 

And thus begins the saga of the Criminal Minds power couple.

Sharp

Mai is sharp. From her knives to her wit to her eyes, everything about her aims to cut to the bone. Even her nails are filed to points. She doesn't want to be held close, stifled and controlled, so she makes it painful to do so.

But when it's just her and Azula, she lets the soft parts of her show. Her open hands, the gentle curve of her smile. She takes Azula's hand, pulls her in, and holds her close. Azula is sharp, too, but Mai wraps her in softness and shows the rest of the world the sharp. Lets them cut themselves to pieces if they try to get too close.

Azula can be soft with Mai, too. She's one of the few people in the world who is allowed to see Azula with her hair down, not the princess, just the girl, imperfect.

Mai is the only one to see that, to see the worst, most vulnerable parts of Azula and hold her closer instead of walking away. Even Ty Lee left on her own, but Mai had to be ordered away from Azula's side, and even then would not stop writing letters.

Which is why it hurts so much when she says it was all out of fear, stabbing Azula more deeply than she ever thought she could. Than she ever thought she would.

Alone, on her way away from the Boiling Rock and her two best, and only, friends (away from her, Azula's life, her heart), Azula does not cry. The distance stretches, further and further between them.

Azula cannot hear her heartbeat.

“A little touchy, tonight, I think?” Lily taunted. “Sectumsempra!”

Bellatrix deflected the curse easily, sending another spiral of fire that singed Lily’s robes as she spun out of the way.

“Only a mudblood would resort to stealing someone else’s magic,” Bellatrix spat.

“I hate you tell you this Bellatrix,” Lily said loftily. “But my magic comes from exactly the same place as yours does. And I don’t have to devote myself to a cult to prove it.”

Bellatrix screamed, hurling a tornado of leaves towards her.

“Besides, haven’t you forgotten that Severus is a half-blood?” Lily shouted over the roar of the windstorm. “Or did you all overlook that when he led you to the Prewetts?”

“Blood traitors!”

“Is that all you have?” Lily yelled furiously, sweeping the gust of leaves aside with her wand. “Slurs and supremacy!”

“You spit on everything that is sacred about magic,” Bella snarled. “Corrupting it with your ignorance and baselessness. This is our birthright! Honed and elevated for thousands of generations! And it will not be defiled by your filthy hands.”

Lily ripped up the ground like a shaken rug, causing Bellatrix to deflect it effortlessly into a crash of water.

“When we are done, your stain on the earth will be gone, and the power of magic will sit only with its rightful owners," she hissed.

“You’re so longing for power, Bella,” Lily told her. “And yet you subjugate yourself to another’s orders, your magic used only in the way they direct your hand.”

Bellatrix’s wand stayed poised, but her jaw clenched. She was silent.

“I answer to no one,” whispered Lily. “My magic is my own. But you are nothing without the status granted to you by your cowardly master.”

Lily saw Bellatrix’s mouth open in a snarl of a curse, just as she disappeared into the sky.

Usually, Ava’s the very picture of precision, so she has no idea what is wrong with her today. Not only did she get disarmed by that woman, now she also had to save Ava from the world’s most obvious trap.

Another smug smirk is aimed her way, but Ava’s insults still hit the mark. And everything else will get back to normal too – now that Ava never has to see Ms. Lance again.

"Femslash Friday" is a little project that I started over on my Hanna-Barbera blog last year based on the prompts from @femslash-friday-prompts. I wanted to make an entry with one of my HB fan characters for it this time around, so I decided to go ahead and introduce it over here too (plus then that gives me the opportunity to expand it to my non-HB characters as well if I so desire).

Strawna has a crush on Blanche, so here she is daydreaming about her and how pretty she is. The two of them don't know each other that well since they're in different classes, so it's just a crush at the moment.

This piece was based on the prompt of "braid" which I thought fit Strawna and Blanche since they both have braids in their hair.

i can totally see kitten shape shift into a cat whenever someone she's not too fond of is visiting wanda so she can have little to no interaction with that person

Haha I can see that too! Oh gosh now I'm imagining Stephen Strange being on Kitten's bad side...

"Somebody's coming." You said, ears and tail twitching as you sniffed the air. Wanda was in the middle of baking some cookies and you were arranging some flowers from your garden. Something was off though as you sniffed someone getting closer to the cottage where you two resided.

Wanda nodded and lifted a hand, her red magic swirling around her fingers. "I can feel it too. Easy girl, Mistress will take care of it." She kissed your temple and went outside and you peaked out the front door, curiosity getting the better of you.

"Wanda, good to see you again." You let out a groan at the voice of Stephen Strange. You and your Mistress hated this man, always thinking he was better than everyone else. Coming over unannounced. Wanda was always friendly but that didn't mean you had to be.

You quickly changed into your cat form and meowed loudly to get the attention of the two people talking on the porch. You walked out to them and rubbed up affectionately against Wanda's leg. She chuckled softly and bent down to give you a scratch. As she did she whispered, "naughty kitty," to which you meowed again.

"I didn't know you had a cat. It's fitting for you," Stephen reached down to give you a pet, but you hissed and swatted at his hand, making Stephen jump back started.

Wanda had to hold back her laughter as she picked you up and cradled you close. You purred loudly as you rubbed up against her cheek.

"Sorry Stephen, she doesn't like men. If there wasn't anything you needed, I think it's best if you go."

Vaggie is a fallen Angel and Charlie is princess of Hell. The Morningstars have struggled to gain respect, Hell is full of the most sinister souls and Lucifer is unable to stop the slaughter of any of them. Whether theyʻre in hell for smaller sins like killing a mob boss or abusive father or the unthinkable of killing a family (too lazy to look up the proper quote shhh). Charlie starts out very politically unpopular but as her quest to save souls makes progress the support grows. But Vaggie didnʻt need to see that progress, she had Charlieʻs back the whole time. If Charlie Morningstar has no fans, Vagina is dead. If it can be proven that Hell is not completely full of unredeemable monsters maybe the two Angelic lovers of Hell can become an inspiration to even the living. A representation that down below can have more acceptance than earth at times, and that there are immortals who care about those who want to do good.

Hestia, Athena and Artemis are roomates but Hestia and Athena are ✨roommates✨Olympus, Earth, and the Underworld are all in the struggle bus. Couples and families torn apart by dark forces and unforeseen consequences. If only a badass power couple could bring stability 👉🏽👈🏽 Athena is the self assigned virgin mother of every 12 year old girl and Hestia is eldest child goals (I think LO fucked with the sibling ages but I refuse to recognize that slander). Ok maybe not goals she was majorly screwed over by Kronosʻs stomach acid. But she survived and is an icon.

Femslash Friday: Couples That Never Were But Should Have Been Vol. 3

It's no surprise to me that Jemma and Daisy/Skye is already a known ship (maybe even popular as far as non-canons go.) So I don’t think I need to discuss how much these two, aesthetically alone, just make sense. 

But I do want to point out that the canon for AoS being what is when it comes to Jemma/Fitz, this FSF post will first focus on one character, who should have at least been a WLW (woman-lovin’ woman a.k.a. sapphic-inclined - pick any orientation label you’d like for that.)

Daisy shoulda been into chicks, y’all. If not to be with Jemma, then to be with some damn body because I needed to see all of her badass femme!top-seme-realness reach its glory.

Jemma is clearly deep in with Fitz when Daisy’s sapphic vibes peak (meaning all her male love interests are dead and she’s focusing on being solo dolo).

My heart would’ve equally, if not more so, melted if we could’ve at least gotten some young adorkable hacker lesbian with the personality of Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds on the team. She could’ve taken over the former Skye’s role as the web-wiz of the group. 

And then these two sapphos could’ve competed against Jemma/Fitz for most adorable couple ever on AoS before Yoyo/Mack even came into existence.

*lovelorn sigh* .......After getting (emotionally-wounded-and-closed-off) S3/S4-Daisy to open up, let the guard down a bit and return to her normal self some, Daisy and Adorkable Hacker Girl could first bond over hacking and swap stories about their backgrounds as outcasts. Daisy’s being because she was an orphan, Adorkable Hacker Girl’s being because perhaps she was severely neglected and abused by a family whose idea of love was three square meals a day and a slap instead of a fist some days. 

This could lead to conversations about what defines family and revelations about how AHG sees herself as weak compared to Daisy because she has this aversion to violence and could never stand up to her family, stand up for herself or the siblings she cared about. She instead ran away and erased herself from the world by becoming this shape-shifting entity on the internet, which fills her with shame.

Then Daisy could try to teach her how to fight in a very private intimate setting as a way of encouraging her and protecting her from feeling embarrassed, letting her learn at her own pace. Of course, AHG doesn't let on about her traumatic past with violence and goes along with the training because she appreciates the gesture and wants to be close to Daisy. And of course, there comes a point when it all becomes overwhelming. At this point, when AHG shuts down and wants to quit, Daisy realizes, the hard way, that this approach to helping her overcome her aversion was a mistake all along because literally not knowing how to throw a punch is not actually the root of her problem. She could either find out what that root problem is through talking to her or dig through her past with the ole hacker skills and piece it together or do a combination of both.

She’ll go on to rescue AHG from violent ambushes by SHIELD enemies and comfort her later, when she feels like crap for freezing up or freaking out when the team needed her. Then what must follow is the inevitable episode where AHG does something brave without using violence, gets results and a near fatal injury in the process, which will lead to a bedside scene where the girl smiles through the pain and says “I just wanted to be strong like you for once.” 

And then Daisy, sitting next to her in bed and holding her hand with interlocked fingers, will kiss her hand and say “you’re stronger” and with tears sliding down, Daisy will kiss her forehead and---well, you get it, you get it. 

Now, let’s circle back to the idea of Jemma as our sapphic-inclined Daisy’s main love interest. 

As much as I love love love Fitz....his and Jemma's whole universe keeping us apart thing just doesn't hit the same romantic beats (especially since it's waaaay overdone) as Daisy's more recent anything for her thing with Jemma.

What I mean by Anything For is the prioritization of another person’s safety, feelings, and goals over the doer’s own, if they have any. Maybe this is just me over-analyzing things, but I feel like, in the later seasons, we see Daisy shift into the specific role of Jemma’s guardian. First, in a small way in S4 - when Daisy finds Jemma during the LMD take over. 

This scene! this SCENE!?!?! Oh, the way she talks her down, pulls her in, and makes her feel safe, that acting -- THAT acting! This whole moment is what officially awakened me to Skimmons! Daisy was hitting all my romantic hero beats to a TEE but only on some best friend shit. So could you imagine if they were actually a couple and she’s searching for her, trying to talk her down and pulls her in like that, I--dead. I have an entire urban fantasy series about demon slayers planned inspired by these two characters because of this precise moment. It’s working title is literally ‘the Daisy x Jemma story.’ Oh yes, I’m not in the messing around business. If I see wasted potential, I pick it up and I build.

In S5, we see Daisy Anything For Her-ing again in a big way when she goes on a tear through the lighthouse trying to rescue Jemma from alien slavery. Which is way more dramatically and immediately satisfying than just knowing Fitz is somewhere out there ‘working on it.’ 

And then once again, we see more Anything For Her-ing in S6 when Daisy supports Jemma flying them across the universe to fight more aliens looking for Past Fitz. And of course Daisy doesn’t mind being Jemma’s Hound because Jemma’s her bestie and she likely sees it as just doing her duty as Captain of the FitzSimmons ship. To the Hets and others who just happen not to ship them, all these acts of love and devotion are likely seen as just Daisy being a good big sister figure to Jemma and Fitz. And that’s lovely for them. 

But you know what would have been lovely for me, fellow femslashers? Leo Fitz being Jemma’s twin brother this whole time and also, of course, Jemma being gayer than a pack of skittles.

Truth be told, I was never a fan of the Twilight-y/Jacob Black-ish way that Jemma/Fitz started, with the latter harboring these feelings and the former being completely oblivious and then awkward about it at first.

I’m not a fan of the Unrequited Love trope in general. And I love Fitz, so I was rooting for him to move on with someone who didn’t need to ease into the idea of loving him that way. But ease Jemma did. And they’re in it for real and for life...well, for the five minutes a year they get to be in the same room, anyway. 

But what could’ve happened if FitzSimmons were twin siblings instead (and I was the head writer on the show who made Jemma and Daisy definite lady-lovin’ ladies, no squinting required)?? 

Jemma and Daisy’s love story begins post-Ward Betrayal, somewhere in late S2 early S3 with some "my emotional rock" moments, followed up with mild flirtations and blushing denials.

Then, as the pair were just beginning to show more overt feelings toward each other, Jemma starts being all anti-inhuman right when Daisy’s powers are emerging.

After the cat quakes out of the bag and Jemma is angry at Fitz and Daisy for hiding this from her, what ensues between the two girls is a tearful conversation about secrets and lies and fixing things that aren’t broken involving the words “are you afraid me?” & “I would never hurt you” somewhere in between. 

Then, after Jemma has some time to cool off, she apologizes to Twin!Brother Fitz for abandoning him and making him feel broken/discarded, then to True Love!Daisy for making her feel afraid to come to her, and then this quote happens “you have to know that the love I have for you runs deeper than fear of the unknown ever will.” 

only there would be kissing...yeh, lots more kissing.

I could sit here and rewrite every arc and scene with Daisy and Jemma as a couple spliced through it, but I won’t take up anymore time. 

Call me old fashioned but a strong rescue romance theme between a Rogue Toughie living by her own code of honor and a Strong-Willed Softie always surviving some kind of peril with her wits until her knight in shining gauntlets returns for her....the concept just melts my heart.

And that’s the vibe Daisy and Jemma give, especially in later parts of the show, which makes me wish that these two had been given the ‘Love Story of a Lifetime’ instead.

Prompt: @femslash-friday-prompts‘s September 24th, 2021 picture prompt of an eye

Fandom/Ship: Hanna-Barbera (Clue Club/The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan crossover); Dottie/Anne

A new edit set to hopefully get back into the groove of Femslash Friday. Dottie is out walking the dogs when she happens to run into Anne, and after a brief chat, quickly develops a crush on her.

The lyrics used here ("You passed me by one sunny day/Flashed those big brown eyes my way/And ooh I wanted you forever more") are from the song "Hello Mary Lou"; it was that middle line in particular that reminded me of the eye picture prompt. Due to the nature of the song I ended up going for a crush/hypothetical relationship instead of an established one, and I think I captured that well in the edits.
