All Zack can think is that he's glad this "Mama Nova" his spikey blonde, oddly Mako-eyed Infantry friend spoke of often seemed to like him as he watched the Turks, The Board and the Generals scramble in a panic as the pieces of Hojo, who barely had time to put hands on his friend before Cloud went glassy-eyed, calling Hojo. "The Thief." Before the, admittedly disturbing to be around scientist suddenly splattered across the room, seemingly with nothing touching him.

He held the little cadet as he watched The Turks respond to Rufus motioning a stand down over The president.

As he noticed the sharp focus Sephiroth had on Cloud right now.

As he tried to help Genesis reassure his currently panicked mentor he was as safe as he could be, all things considered.

Meanwhile Cloud was smiling at, seemingly unable to see the absolute mess that was once Professor Hojo.

When asked, Cloud had simply replied. "Mama Nova doesn't want me to worry about seeing unnecessary things."

I don’t think I’ll ever quite be over the fact that many important events in the FFVII universe are driven almost entirely by love shared between characters

The games make such a point to hammer home the idea that loyalty born out of genuine caring is what strengthens bonds and allows characters to succeed or at least to make it further in the story than they would have otherwise

The Turks, (barely) loyal to Shinra until one of their own is threatened

Angeal following Genesis to the ends of the planet

Zack protecting Cloud and keeping them both safe when they’re on the run from Shinra (even though the smart thing to do would have been to abandon the catatonic one)

Team Avalanche lifting each other up when each and every character is some form of broken and does not think they could be mended

The party searching for Vincent when he’s hell bent upon being alone because he considers himself a monster and genuinely has no skill in processing the tragedies that befell him

I think it’s largely what makes the story so compelling— the fact that we have these characters with such human interactions that are so full of genuine care and emotion that we cannot help but fall into their world and root for them to win

I firmly believe that Reno never actually died his hair.

Why? Simple. Do you see how fast that man is? Do you see how fucking inhumanly agile he is?

I feel as if there was some sort of experiment on the Turks in order to give them these inhuman inhancements. However, during the time when Reno was receiving his injections or whatever you wanna call them, it effected his physical appearance as well and ended up darkening his hair from a strawberry blonde (I firmly believe that, that was his natural hair colour before all of the experimentation and stuff happened) to a cherry red, and somehow gave him those marks on his face.

You may argue that it's just the materia that makes him insanely fast and he does in fact dye his hair, but this is just opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Tseng is an alien? I thought he was Chinese?

There's a pretty wide consensus in the fandom that Tseng is from Wutai (Wutaian), but that's not actually confirmed in the FFVII canon. He could just as easily be from Midgar or any other part of Gaea. He's not Chinese because China doesn't exist in the FFVII world. Wutai has a distinctly East Asian flavor visually, along with the area music and spiritual aspects of Wutai culture being reminiscent of East Asian religions/philosophies. Not everyone from Wutai looks Asian though (see: Yuffie the much better examples given in all the great reblogs since I made this post!), so again, it's really anyone's guess where Tseng is from originally.

Personally, I kinda like the idea of him being born and raised in Midgar! :3

FF7 Characters' Taste in Music Headcanons: Part 2 (Non-playable Characters)

Sephiroth: Classical, if he's picking anything, though he finds it equal measures off-putting and relaxing, so it kind of just leaves him neutral. Also, the deeper he descended into madness, the more he developed a taste for metal.

President Shinra: Dad rock

Rufus: Hip hop. Thinks it makes him cool and rebellious. Imagines he could be the next Eminem.

Elena: Vaporwave and Scandinavian pop. Follows Eurovision every year.

Reno: Classic punk like The Clash, The Sex Pistols. Also ska and 90s rock like Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters.

Rude: Smooth jazz or reggae, depending on his mood.

Tseng: Instrumental world music

Elmyra: Folk and Celtic. A bit of bluegrass. Also listens to a lot of evening public radio shows.

Scarlet: Sexy high-end bar music. Basically the genre "Scarlet's Theme" is.

Palmer: Unironically listens to Kids Bop

Heidegger: Doesn't listen to music that much. Mostly listens to sports talk shows if he has anything on.

Hojo: Static/white noise/ambient if he feels like he must have something on. Sometimes puts on classical to further unnerve his specimens, big Clockwork Orange vibes. Incidentally, this is why Sephiroth listens to classical since it's the music he grew up with.

I think the turks have this absolutely ancient coffee maker in the breakroom from the days even before Vincent and Veld showed up but they refuse to get rid of it because that thing is an institution at this point even if you have to punch or kick it just to get a barely passable cup of coffee
