Im working on a longer harringrove work, no upside down, sort of s4 rewrite bc it starts just before the spring break, very excitedd 👀👀
Some things I can give away that are could be excitingg:
Steve's life is basicaly a rom-com, hes going on a string of failed dates and searching for The One bc he's tired of meaningless flings
Billy's life is a slice of life drama, really deep and serious because after an explosion of the mall hes trying to figure out hes life and take care of Max
Lots of movie refrences bc Steve works in Family Video obv, also im a film student
Billy and Max being fans of horror films! Finding them comforting and bonding over them!
Billy being an avid reader! Reading Greek myths (that his mom read to him when he was young!!)
Steve just wants to help
Billy doesnt want any help
Billy being besties with Heather and Chrissy, and being friends with Eddie
And most importantly - Neil suddenly dies of a heart attack so Billy has to figure out who he is without his dad's abuse and all thr complicated feelings and consequences that come with it!!
#harringrove#i have Chap 1 written with 6k words but ill wait until i write a few more to post ittt#but im excited tbh cos i finally have some inspiration to write#beating writers blocks ass!!

"Just be with me. I'll make you happy, you don't have to work hard. You can just rest and I'll do the hard work."
At that moment, I couldn't help but smile. Your words made me feel something. Almost made me want to give up. The things you've said and done to me, are something I wasn't familiar with. It was too gentle, without expectations and demands, but filled with your hope.
Now I wonder, would you still say those words, if you could see the faded scars scattered all over my body? Would you still want me if you could see the grief in my eyes?
Back then I wanted to say so many things to you. About how your words and actions felt like a soft blanket in the middle of a storm. About how my heart skipped a beat every time you took care of me. Yet, every time I looked at you, I swallowed every word and let everything remain unspoken.
But I always knew that we weren't meant to be together, so I really held myself back. I suppressed all the feelings that were trying to explode. If I let myself fall, I was afraid I would accidentally hurt you. I would be devastated, if I caused you the pain and heartbreak that I brought to others.
So I thought I was ready to face the day when you finally realize it was enough, and leave. But funnily, despite being well acquainted with good byes, I still don't know how to fill the space you left behind.
I really wish things were different. I wish I could've treated you better.
In another lifetime, under different circumstances, I would love to give us a chance. But for now, in this life, the only thing I can do is immortalize us in my writings.

AU where SJ is a horror movie director and actor. All the movies he makes aren't overly gore filled and they focus on psychological horror (and have an all female cast with very few exceptions because of course). However, all the movies he acts in have him get brutally murdered (it's in his contract).
SY is a horror movie nerd and got hooked on SJ through his acting. He loved the monsters and the creative deaths. The interviews he watched of SJ, he's enamored (in a TOTALLY PLATONIC AND PARASOCIAL WAY) with the way SJ says he's usually the one writing his own death scenes. That led him to find SJ's movies and he was even more hooked.
But SY is also an actor, but he plays love interests in cheesy romance dramas (he did it originally to beat his sister in a bet but it's not a bit anymore). He's charming and sweet with all his co-actors and even amassed his own irl harem. He wishes he could act in horror movies, but he's too well known as the kind pretty boy from the romance genre. And people will most certainly riot if his characters die, so :(
And as cheesy and sappy SY thinks his roles are, SJ is absolutely enamored as well. His guilty pleasure is watching cheesy romance dramas. He loves them in secret and wishes saintly men like SY's characters existed in real life.
Anyway, during an interview with SY, he's asked what genre he likes, and he tells them that he's actually fond of horror. They ask what type of horror and he immediately starts gushing about SJ. About his acting, his genius, his writing, his directing skills, etc. He tells the interviewer that his dream is to either work with or under SJ, but he laments that he always gets rejected for horror roles.
In the distance you here all the woman SY has enchanted wail in unison as they realize they don't have a chance because he likes men.
SJ obviously sees this and doesn't know what to do with the obvious praise. He panics as SY says he wants to work with/under him, and is struck with inspiration (he had writer's block for a long time). And he writes a script with a kind man that gets everyone to love him with a few words that is actually a siren that secretly consumes his admirers (or something IDK I'm uncreative. it doesn't matter it just has to be a monster role that is obviously made for SY)
He refines the script and starts casting. SY hears SJ is looking for roles openly, which is rare because SJ usually has closed castings. So he hurries over and auditions for the main villain, and he gets the role (to no one's surprise).
When they start the filming process, SY has basically enchanted the whole crew and they all agree that SY was the best option. And then one of the scenes where SY reveals himself as evil, and everyone had something awake in them.
The entire time SY is hoping he's doing well so SJ will like him. And in SJ's corner, he's fighting demons to stay professional. Everyone is fighting their battles while SY keeps looking at SJ after each shoot to see if he's doing a good job. But SJ keeps leaving, so obviously he's not. So he tries even harder (causing so much emotional distress in everyone that wants him desperately)
When everything wraps up, SY asks if SJ would be interested in dinner so he can pick his brain. SJ hesitates thinking SY was going to reveal that he too was two-faced like his character. But no, SY genuinely asks him so many questions and looked stary eyed when he answered. SY didn't try anything and they left with SY walking SJ to his car before going to his.
SJ drives home conflicted because apparently a prince charming does exist and he casted him as a murderer in his show/movie. And SY is happy because he thinks he did so well in getting his favorite actor/director to finally like him.
The movie/show releases and everyone also has a violent awakening and want SY in more villain roles.
SY is happy because he can finally be in horror movies. SJ is actively making scripts to just invite SY to act in them (the most productive he's been in a while). SY is over the moon when he gets an invite to act in another of SJ's scripts and puts his all in his characters. He ends up shining so much that even if he was a side character, he'd be a fan favorite.
And eventually he and SJ get invited to play in a movie. SY is excited to act with SJ (he didn't read the script before accepting the role), and SJ is so conflicted because not only does the movie have a kiss scene between their characters but SY kills him. It's like evil, toxic yaoi or something.
SY finally reads his damn script and is having a whole sexuality crisis, but he shuts up because he doesn't want to lose this opportunity (and he doesn't want to offend SJ, who is openly and maliciously gay). The director (Airplane) is doing this for the love of the game and fan service, so he makes them redo scenes over and over again until he liked a shoot.
SY locks in and tries not to think much of it. Then SJ tells him they have to practice the kiss scene because it has to look authentic (Airplane is a tyrant and demands it to be sloppy and crazy and REAL), and suddenly SY is thinking WAY too much about it. They try, SJ tells him he kisses stiff, and that he figured all his romantic main lead roles would make him a better kisser.
SY doesn't know how to say that he uses stage kisses instead of actually kissing his co-actor because he always felt uncomfortable with it, so he settles on saying something accidentally suave. Probably something like "It's different to kiss someone you admire so much".
SJ takes at least 15 points of psychic damage and tells him that they better practice for him to get used to it (excuse to kiss SY).
Then the day of the scene comes and like... I can't think of anything to end this with. Idk they get caught in the moment and have weird sex on set or something and Airplane calls it genius and takes the movie to production.
This optional if you want to write this au. I just don't have a way to end this post :3

Shen Yuan stared up at the man, disbelief clear on his face.
The man before him huffed a laugh, brown eyes becoming crescent shaped with amusement. He was a little taller than Shen Yuan, a little broader, with a sleeve tattoo covering his right arm to his wrist. His dark brown hair was softly curled, more wavy, and a little shaggy, falling to his shoulders. His face reminding Shen Yuan of Binghe. Not a lot, but just enough if he were to tilt his head and squint.
“You’re just a kid.” When the man finally spoke his voice was as smooth as velvet. “How old are you?”
“Nineteen.” Shen Yuan automatically responded as he gawked.
The man had round wire glasses, a piercing on the left side of his lower lip, both ears were pierced, and he had cheekbones that belonged on a magazine cover. He was a little older than Shen Yuan expected. Somewhere in his late-twenties compared to Shen Yuans late teens.
“Cucumber-Bro, come on, I’m not that different.” Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky offered a smile, showing off dimples underneath a days worth of scruff.
“How old are you?” Shen Yuan demanded, still blocking the doorway into the dorm.
“Thirty.”
What the fuck?
“What the fuck?” Shen Yuan asked aloud.
Seriously, this was the caffeine addicted crack-writer?!
When Shen Yuan had woken up back in his dorm room instead of in bed with his husband in the bamboo house, he immediately contacted Airplane—it was a gamble, but it paid off. The relief Shen Yuan felt when Airplane responded was like a weight lifted off his shoulders. He gave the other man his phone number and address, then waited an excruciating five days until the two could meet. (Because Shen Yuan lived in Beijing, but Airplane apparently lived in Chengdu, and last minute flights weren’t cheap.)
Shen Yuan knew that his friend would look different. Hell, Shen Yuan looked different! A little shorter, a little rounder, way younger. With pitch black eyes, short inky black hair, and an ear piercing. He was pretty rather than handsome, softer than Shen Qingqiu.
And it wasn’t that Shang Qinghua wasn’t handsome—he was! Like everyone else in PIDW. But Airplane?
“Can I come in?” Airplane asked while shoving his hands into his back pockets. He wasn’t dressed fashionably. His beat up backpack was slung carelessly over a shoulder, jeans were ripped due to wear and tear, his faded band shirt was due to too many washes, his sneakers were scuffed. And yet…
Shen Yuan dressed in the latest fashion. He tried his best to look good, he had standards for himself! He looked like a C-Pop star.
Airplane wasn’t even trying to be hot. (WHY WAS HE SO HOT?!)
It shook something inside of Shen Yuan. All of his past theories of Airplane being a troll flew out the window.
“Well?” Airplane looked like he wasn’t above shoving past his friend to get in.
Shen Yuan allowed his friend inside, still shook.
“Shang Qinghua.”
“What?”
“My name, bro.”
“Wait…you used your actual name for the character closest to Mobei!? Fucking Mary-Sue!”
“Ah, there we go, there’s the Peerless Cucumber I know. Although it’s weird to hear such vitriol from a face so cute.”
Shen Yuan felt the blood rush to his face and wished he had a fan in his hands to use as a weapon when Airplane chuckled.
“Come on, let’s try to figure out how to get back home,” Shang Qinghua said as he moseyed to the desk in the room.
Shen Yuan sighed as he closed and locked the door.

i want the pitt to keep the one shift per season format for s2 but i also want to see the following and i don’t know how to reconcile the two:
collins finds a mouse in her apartment and venmo’s whitaker $25 to come do his thing
langdon being forced to sleep on mel’s couch because abby finally changed the locks on him (and good for her!). mel is Very Concerned about his back and kindly suggests they could just share her bed. langdon has to take a lap around the block
javadi has her 21st birthday party and all of the ED is invited other than robby (snitches get stitches as long as langdon’s not the wrongdoer, per santos). mckay can’t go to a bar because of her ankle monitor but still somehow gets roped into driving as many people home as they can shove into her car at the end of the night
whitaker casually walking down the street and getting splashed by a car hitting a very large puddle (santos is the driver ofc)
dana and her husband see doug driscoll at a starbucks and they tag team beating his ass in the parking lot
garcia promises to be divorced!langdon’s wing woman but they both just end up in tears by the end of the night because they’re so Down Bad for santos and mel
robby starts going to therapy AT LEAST two times a week (tbh he should be in-patient but i’ll allow this compromise) and can’t stop defensively asking the therapist “no are YOU okay??????”
collins and mel team up to investigate who keeps leaving the snack drawer open in the break room. mel very seriously tells langdon about their efforts to bring this criminal to justice and the drawer is coincidentally never left open again (this might actually be feasible. walk with me @ the pitt writers room)
mohan getting drinks with princess and perlah after their shifts end so they can catch her up on all the gossip since robby won’t let the girl breath
santos ends up on the evening news because she saved a guy’s life by doing some batshit medical procedure in a little italy. langdon calls in sick for three shifts in a row
everyone being very confused by mel having backstage passes to a kendrick lamar concert and thinking that she’s joking when she says they’re friends until langdon reveals he saw them talking on facetime once about one of kendrick’s kids having a sinus infection

5 Ways to Actually Get Writing Done Without Selling Your Soul (or Crying into Your Keyboard… Again)
» Set Specific Goals
Sitting down with the vague idea of “I’m gonna write something” is a trap. It’s like walking into a grocery store without a list—you’ll leave with five snacks, zero dinner, and a sense of moral failure. Set a goal. A real one. Like...
“I’m going to write 500 words.”
“I’m going to finally fix that scene where my MC argues like a confused raccoon.”
“I will name the horse in chapter 3 and stop calling it ‘Equine Placeholder.’”
Specific = focus. And when your brain knows the mission, it’s much less likely to yeet you into Instagram for 45 minutes.
» Make Your Writing Cave Cozy (But Not Too Cozy, You’re Still Supposed to Be Working)
You don’t need a Pinterest-worthy office to write, you just need a space where your brain doesn’t go, “Ah yes, this is where we rot.” That means:
Get rid of the chaos pile on your desk.
Turn off your phone notifications (no, you do not need to reply to that meme right now).
Put on music if it helps—lo-fi beats, rain sounds, dungeon ambiance, whatever makes your creative brain purr.
And listen, if your writing setup is literally “half my bed, one sad candle, and a playlist titled ‘angst in the moonlight’”—same. Make it work.
» Trick Yourself Into a Routine (Because Discipline is a Scam and We're Just Goblins With Deadlines)
Look, “routine” sounds boring and adult, but hear me out: it doesn’t have to be rigid. You don’t need to write at 5am with green juice in hand like a productivity cultist. You just need consistency.
Write after you brush your teeth.
Write before bed with your laptop balancing on your stomach like a raccoon with a diary.
Write for ten minutes during lunch, just to prove to yourself you’re still a writer.
The goal is to make writing so normal, your brain goes, “Oh, this again. I guess we’re doing this.” Momentum is magic.
» Use Productivity Hacks (Or: Outsmart Your Own Gremlin Brain)
Your brain? It’s crafty. It will try to distract you with snacks, existential dread, and seventeen Wikipedia tabs. So: outwit it.
Try the Pomodoro Technique:
25 minutes of writing.
5 minutes of pretending to stretch but actually scrolling.
Repeat until your story is slightly less of a hot mess.
Or time block. Or sprint with a friend. Or lie to yourself and say you’ll just write for five minutes—then trick yourself into staying because now you’re in the zone and your villain is being so deliciously cruel.
Whatever works. Bribe your brain. No shame here.
» Stop Editing Mid-Damn-Sentence
Nothing kills momentum faster than rewriting the same paragraph eleven times before moving on. This is your permission slip to write badly. Like, aggressively mediocre. Like, "this dialogue sounds like a soap opera performed by raccoons" badly. Because you can’t fix what you didn’t write. First drafts are for getting the clay on the table. You’ll sculpt it later. Probably while crying and muttering “why did I make this character so emotionally repressed.”

Their Crush Likes Them Back
Ot7 x Reader
Summary: What would happen if the members were so deep in their belief that their crush is one-sided that they're oblivious to the fact that the feeling is very much mutual
Warnings: lil angst, suggestive, swearing, not proofread
A/N: Thanks to @coffeedepressionsoup for this request! This honestly was so fun to write, and really helped me beat back my writer's block. I hope y’all like it! Based on this post
Masterlist
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
Jin:
He’s been so focused on trying to hide his feelings and just being a good friend to you, that he doesn’t realize that you’ve not only caught onto his feelings, but that you’re also very into him and are actively flirting with him😫
You keep trying to subtly tip him off, giving him extra compliments and calling him petnames that make his ears turn bright red, but he just keeps brushing it off as you’re just being a really sweet friend.
You even tried triggering his jealous streak in an attempt to get him to speak up, like “If they’re not good enough, then who is, hmmm!?” but it always just ends with him mumbling something you can’t understand and him driving you home in frustrated silence.
It’s after one of these such nights that you end up blurting out your own feelings, since he won’t do it!
When you finally tell him how you feel, he just sits there for a solid minute completely dumbfounded before managing to speak. “...are you sure? Like you’re not just saying that to make me feel better?” “ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?!”
Honestly not that much changes after you’ve talked everything out and made things official, at least at first. He’s very gradual in his shift into ‘boyfriend mode’, starting with smaller but sweet gestures like bringing you flowers.
The one thing that changes immediately tho is he now holds your hand/arm/waist everywhere you go. Doesn’t matter what you’re doing, he has to be holding onto you. You’re the most valuable thing in the world to him, and now that he has you, there’s no way he’s letting you go.
Yoongi:
As good as Yoongi is at hiding his feelings, you're the complete opposite, showering him with compliments and praise at every opportunity, turning him into the shyest lil meow meow, but you can’t help it, he deserves to know how amazing he is
You know you’re one of the only people that he feels fully comfortable being vulnerable and open with, which is why it hurts so much when he pulls away or gives the silent treatment after fights or gets too into his own head.
This leads to more than a few arguments between you where you all but spell out how you feel about him, but he somehow still manages to twist it around in his head to be platonic.
It becomes abundantly clear that anything short of straight up kissing him on the mouth is just gonna be met with ‘oh, they didn’t mean it like that.’ Like mf I said you were ideal husband material! Get your head out of your ass!
When you finally do get him to understand that you like him, he gets soo quiet(you know that lil confused look he does where his eyes just go everywhere? that) like Yoongi.exe has stopped working, please reboot.
Once he’s had time to process and y’all talk everything out, he becomes the softest and most dedicated boy. Liike, now that he can actually show his feelings, he’s a fucking SIMP, constantly surprising you with little gifts and gestures, and just always staring at you with the softest heart eyes.
Hobi:
Very much like Jin in that he’s soo focused on being a good friend and not making you uncomfortable that he somehow misses how you’re very much simping over the man. Like it’s not even subtle, you’re always looking at him with literal stars in your eyes.
He tends to mirror your energy/behavior to match your vibe tho, which becomes a bit problematic bc you end up acting a lot more ‘couple-y’ than either of you initially realize. Like, it’s totally normal for him to snuggle and kiss you on the cheek, pay no mind to the fact that he doesn’t do it with anyone else but you.
(Jungkook thinks it’s hilarious tbh and keeps finding ways to put you two in forced proximity situations in the hopes that y’all will finally get a fucking hint and confess already!)
He kinda realizes he’s pushing the boundaries of what’s ‘okay’ for just friends, but he can’t help but be selfish when it comes to you, wanting to be as close to you as possible, even if he thinks it will never go anywhere, not realizing that you’re doing the exact same thing.
When you finally talk to him one night about how you actually feel, he doesn’t even think and just tackles you, kissing you until you both forget how to breathe
Instantly the most devoted boyfriend in the world. Texts you constantly, brings you flowers for every date or snacks when you hangout at each other's places. He kisses you constantly, always mumbling about “making up for lost time” when you tease him about it.
Namjoon:
I totally see this happening to him tbh. Like as in tune as he can be sometimes, he’s kinda oblivious when it comes to your relationship, even if it’s obvious to everyone else in your friend group..
He never really questions why you always happen to be free when he wants to hangout, or the fact that you always answer his texts regardless of the time of day/night.
What he does see however is how much it hurts you when he tries to pull away when he starts to get too into his own head about everything, making his will crumble almost immediately and coming back to you soo apologetic.
He doesn’t understand why you’re always so forgiving and willing to stick beside him through everything, no matter how many times you tell him it’s because you love him
I see telling him how you actually feel going one or two ways: you sitting him down and talking everything out super calm and maturely. or-
You blurting it out in the heat of the moment during a fight, resulting in a brief stunned silence and then you getting pinned to the nearest surface and kissing each other till you can’t breathe and then dragging each other to the bedroom…
You don’t really address it anymore after that night, you’re just dating now and thats it. (Tho, you may have forgotten to notify the rest of your friend group and so they don’t realize you’re together until you kiss him goodbye in front of them and Hobi drops glass in shock, lol)
Jimin:
It would be almost funny how oblivious he is, if it weren’t soo fucking frustating.
Like usually he’s the one flirting up a storm, flustering and confusing people left and right, but with you he’s turned into a complete mess, trying(and failing) to hide how shy and blushy you make him with just the smallest gestures.
Which you would think would help the two of you to realize that you’re both into each other, but nope, you’re just dancing around the obvious and driving everyone else in your friend group insane(Tae and Yoongi have a bet on who will actually make the first move)
Like he notices some of the little cues that you’ve been dropping that you might be into him too, but he honestly just feels like he’s imagining things because that’s what he wants to happen
(tbh he thinks you’re trying to kill him with how close and touchy you get sometimes because he wants to kiss you soo fucking bad)
When you finally get the courage to tell him, it’s quiet and intimate, at one of your apartments in the middle of the night while you’re laying on the couch or bed together talking about whatever, and he goes so still and quiet for minute you think he fell asleep or something before he suddenly rolls on top of you, grinning like an idiot and wrapping you up in the tightest hug ever and kissing you breathless.
You two dating isn’t that much different than when you were just friends except you’re somehow EVEN MORE CLINGY with each other(who knew that was even possible?! lol) constantly touching or holding onto each other or stealing kisses when you think no one’s looking
Taehyung:
Honestly? He’s lowkey aware of your flirty behavior, but he keeps trying to brush it off as “they’re just being cute” because he doesn’t want to accidentally misread things and fuck things up between you by trying to make a move that’s not wanted.
Nevermind the fact that you are very openly making your interests known. Like there’s nothing to misread here my dude, everyone and their grandma can see that I am absolutely smitten with you.
Notices your more jealous/clingy moments, but doesn’t quite recognize them for what they are or the reason for them. All he knows is that you’re hanging onto his arm and giving him attention, which he soaks up like the happiest lil sponge. Who cares if you’re a little overprotective of him? He thinks it’s cute.
Similar to Hobi in that he worries sometimes that he’s overstepping what’s okay for just friends for his own benefit, even though multiple friends have pointed out that you were actively initiating those moments with him too, it’s not just a one-sided thing
He fully refuses to believe it tho until one night as he’s walking you home and you admit to him that you wished that he was your boyfriend. He turns into the smiliest bean ever at your confession, latching onto you like a giant koala bear and refusing to let go for the rest of the night as you talk and share how you’ve both really been feeling.
Instantly shifts into teddybear boyfriend mode, super cuddly and calling you every petname he can think of. He jokes that he’s just catching up on all the stuff that you missed out on before, but he’s lowkey always been like this with you, he’s just free to finally give into those impulses and kiss you anytime he wants😊
Jungkook:
God bless this boy, he’s soo fucking blind it’s absolutely infuriating
Like neither of you are exactly subtle about your feelings towards each other, but he somehow always manages to miss your hints or flirtations. Like you could be walking around wearing a neon sign that says “I’m in love with you” and he would just be like “oh cool necklace Y/n!”😑
He notices how you tend to stick close to him whenever the two of you hangout together, which he loves, but somehow he misses the gooey-eyed looks you keep giving him.
He also doesn’t realize that one of the only reasons you put up with his possessiveness is because you keep hoping that he’ll fess up and admit his feelings, but he never does, always backing off at the last moment because he’s terrified of fucking things up with you.
Meanwhile you’re practically beating your head against the wall because he’s driving you insane.
Man literally doesn’t catch on fully until you grab him by the face and kiss him one night after an argument, freezing in shock for half a minute before reciprocating very enthusiastically.(everyone immediately knows what happened the next day tho because you’re both fucking covered in hickeys like 👀)
Refuses to leave your side from that point on, he’s now your personal bodyguard/house husband/assistant/ etc. Anything you need, he’s on it immediately. Always finding little excuses to touch you until you point out that he doesn’t actually need a reason anymore, and then he’s just touching/kissing you every time you’re in arms reach

Sevika x Female Reader (Smut)
Title means sex with no plot :)
Cw: Sevika has both arms. Slightly modern AU/Zaun. Age gap that isn’t illegal, not really mentioned a lot. Sex; fingering, nipple play. Not a lot of dialogue (SO SO SORRY).
Proofread || Note: Hi, so… IM BACK? I’ve been so busy with school, it’s actually insane. The amount of work I get HAS to be illegal— and that’s probably why I took a break. I’ve been super duper stressed and had literally no motivation to do anything but binge watch Netflix. Let’s hope writers block doesn’t come back for round 401.

You were dying.
Sat in her lap and “watching” TV. Sevika had gotten home a few hours ago and had decided she wanted you close for the rest of the night. Not an inch apart, she meant your ass inbetween her spread legs. And that’s what she got.
The first few minutes were normal, eyes fixated on the screen infront of the two of you before things began to escalate.
She planted her dark lips against your neck, nipping at the sensitive skin there as her hand crept up your shirt. The warmth of her palm pressed against your stomach, just inching closer to the edge of your bra, felt like heaven. The room felt hot, as if you’d melt in her arms if she kept it up. Of course, Sevika always finished what she started, and this was no different. Heavy breaths hit your skin before an open mouthed kiss was placed there, with just her saliva was left behind, before she continued elsewhere.
One thing Sevika was oblivious to was how every touch brought a slow throb to form in your cunt, only being tamed by the tight close of your legs. But, now, knowing you were guaranteed pleasure, all you could do was squirm and wait until her fingers would finally entered you. Which, you hoped would be soon.
“Look a’me,” she ordered. Her voice low, almost a gruff as she turned your head to the side. With her lips crashing against yours, you gave her entry to your mouth. And, your girlfriend didn’t hold back, she practically dove right in. Her free hand even slithered down to the hem of your shorts, just playing with the band of your panties there. Teasing and gently scratching, leaving you to squirm. You close your eyes, your heart thumping loudly against your chest. With her tongue exploring your mouth, running over your lips, Sevika’s hand slid down. Without hesitation, her middle pressed against your clit— just waiting to hear that moan of yours.
And without a doubt, she did. That barely audible noise that escape your lips. It took all her willpower not to forget about taking her time and make her girlfriend all happy.
But, Sevika wouldn’t give in. So, for a reward, she peppered your shoulder with lovingly heavy kisses, her lips would linger for a second too long before she’d pull away. As for you, all you felt was the ache inbetween your legs. Your pussy was practically yelling for friction, more contact, more attention. But waiting was what you had to do, be patient and let the woman do what she knew best; you.
With slow, circular motions, she gave you a taste of pleasure. Just riding on the tip of your clit with barely any pressure, but enough to drive you crazy from impatience. Sevika knew what she was doing, but could only keep it up for so long. Why? Because she liked loved hearing how good you felt, how it was her who made you feel so. Nothing could beat that feeling, the bubbling up of pride in her chest whenever you moaned for mercy, it was addictive.
You almost felt your eyes roll back as soon she slid her finger in and curled inside. Your walls closed against her before she hit the spot, the spot that would leave you satisfied for hours. It was slow at first, just pressure against your wall, but she quickly picked up her pace. A muffled moan left your lips, a few even, but Sevika didn’t pull away. She’d been kissing you for a good while now, practically eating you.
The press of her chest against your back, her heavy breathing on your face, and the warmth of her arms had you feeling a sense of overwhelming need. Her pace was fastening and the feeling was indescribable. The rub of the tip of her finger, the sensation each nerve shot throughout your body, and the feeling of dependence was all mixed up in a jumble, hard to pick apart. So, you didn’t. You let those feelings mix, swirl up until all you seemed to feel was that familiar knot form. Which, in turn, made you feel a kind of love, lust. The kind that left you hoping Sevika would never stop, keep going until you were dead.
Pulling away from the long, jaw breaking kiss, a needy groan left the woman. Her eyes were now lidded, almost closed, her brows furrowing with focus, with her lips parted. God, she looked pretty. So much so that you couldnt stop yourself from reaching up, feeling her bottom lip as she leaned into the touch. Your own eyes fluttered as you tried to keep them open; the look on her face was one you would crave for days after this. It was the look that made you forget everything— except the fingering skills she possessed. Hell, your toes were beginning to curl from your orgasm beginning to pool up. It was only a matter of time before you’d explode, let your body go into such a state of bliss that you’d be too spoiled to want to come back.
“Keep forgetting how lucky I am,” she whispered, breaking the trance you were in.
She breathed you in like it was the last time she’d do so, burrying her nose into your nape before pressing open mouthed kisses there. You tried your hardest to stay composed, as you always did, but it never seemed to work out. The way she felt in you, the way she curled inside and gave you the pleasure you so desperately needed. You loved it all. But, somehow she made that feeling increasing a dozen times more. By adding another finger she could feel you better now. Move and rub with more precision and ease. Not to mention make you cum a lot faster— that was one of her goals, seeing how fast she could get you to break.
You wouldn’t last long, she knew that. So, with her freehand now on your breast, she slowly slid your bra down; careful not to make you uncomfortable— even the slightest bit. Under the thin fabric of your shirt, Sevika’s fingers gave your, already hardened, nipples a pinch. A pull. Even a twist. She was going all out, “not vocal today, doll.” She murmured.
She was right.
You weren’t, not as much as you would be. But that was only because of the complaints; you’d been getting them for a while now. “Neighbors,” with your voice strained, you moaned out. Which, the woman snorted at. “Understandable, but I don’t really care.” The sensation from your nipples shot straight down to your core, where it would only fuel the fire. Like straying gasoline on a lit match and waiting for the heat to spread.
“C’mon now, say you like it. Like just how good I finger you.” Sevika’s voice was smooth, her tone not so much, but she sounded smug. Like she already knew how much of a ‘pro’ she was. “t’s good, Vika. Really—“ You bit down onto your bottom lip, holding back a moan as she played with your bud. “—Good.. so good..”
Your girlfriend was satisfied, for now. Her fingers curled faster, rubbing with more pressure. Each stroke felt tantalizingly good and you swore your head went numb for a second too long. Hell, if that wasn’t enough, your orgasm was pooling faster than ever. Just on the brink of surfacing; which had you clutching the couch fabric. Nails digging in as you, finally, moaned freely.
“I,” your voice said it all. Shaky and rough. “Cumming— I’m cumming!”
Sevika shifted. With her fingers still inside, she moved her freehand lower. Palm pressed against your lower abdomen, she pushed down. The new sensation sent a shiver straight through you, even causing your head to fall back. That, definitely, was your last straw, because you weren’t trying to hold it together anymore.
Just like that, you were riding your high. The orgasm hit harder than you had expected it to— but, god, was it good. Your body writhed in your woman’s arms, your woman who was staring at you like you were some goddess. Admiring you quietly, taking you in. Each glance send her into a different kind of high, the kind that made her feel like the only woman on the planet. Like she’d been sent straight to heaven; which, in her opinion, she had been.
Afterwards, she let a huff of a laugh leave her lips as she slowly pulled out, feeling the wetness around your hole. You were soaked, so much so that your panties stuck to your pussy. Sevika smiled at that, knowing it was all because of her. And, now, all she had to do was kiss you sane again.
That’s what she did, smothered you with kisses on your shoulder, neck, jaw, anywhere she could reach.
“Y’did great, doll.” She whispered, wrapping an arm around your waist before pulling you closer to her front. Your warmth spreading through her chest, which she cherished.
You, on the other hand, were huffing for air. Your eyes lidded, your body tired in the best way possible, and your skin damp with sweat. With your head dropped back against Sevika’s shoulder, you lean into her embrace. As you always did.
Now, all you needed was a hot shower. One that would wash away all the sweat— but, you didn’t want to wash away her touch just yet.

What to give a fuck about, while writing your first draft!
I`ve posted a list about things you don´t need to give a fuck about while writing your first draft. Here are things you NEED TO CARE about! (in my opinion)
Your Authentic Voice: Don't let the fear of judgment or comparison stifle your unique voice. I know it´s hard, but try to write from your heart, and don't worry about perfection in the first draft. Let your authenticity shine through your words.
Your Story, Your Way: It's your narrative, your world, and your characters. Don't let external expectations or trends dictate how your story should unfold. Write the story you want to tell.
Progress Over Perfection: Your first draft is not the final product; it's the raw material for your masterpiece. Give a fuck about making progress, not achieving perfection. Embrace imperfections and understand that editing comes later.
Consistency and Routine: Discipline matters. Make a commitment to your writing routine and stick to it.
Feedback and Growth: While it's essential to protect your creative space during the first draft, be open to constructive feedback later on. Giving a f*ck about growth means you're willing to learn from others and improve your work.
Self-Compassion: Mistakes, writer's block, and self-doubt are all part of the process. Give a f*ck about being kind to yourself. Don't beat yourself up if the words don't flow perfectly every time. Keep pushing forward and remember that writing is a journey.
Remember, the first draft is your canvas, your playground. Don't bog yourself down with unnecessary worries.

Thunder
Bottom!FTM Cloud Strife x Top!Male Reader
⛈️ Word Count: 1,799 ⛈️
While out on a mission, you and Cloud get caught in a sudden thunderstorm, forcing you to find shelter for the night until it stops. But after a couple days, there aren't any signs of it letting up
AFAB Language Used | I had writer's block and got bored so i decided to finally continue playing final fantasy. I stopped like 30 minutes in to write this fic at 12AM. i put down the game (temporarily! i love it) after the section 8 stuff so i'm sorry for any inaccuracies, just needed to take advantage of this burst of motivation
CW: Rape/Non-Con, Somnophilia, Power Imbalance, Frottage, Teasing, Creampie
You peek outside the window, or what was left of it, of the broken down building you're in then turn to Cloud. “Looks like we’ll have to stay the night.” Lightning strikes to reinforce your words. “Think you can handle it, pretty boy?”
“Stop treating me like a rookie.” Cloud sighs. “And stop calling me pretty boy.”
“It's hard when you look like an adorable little kitten.” You smile.
He rolls his eyes and looks around for burnable items.
“It's like watching a lion cub hunt and gather.”
“I can't wait for this night to be over.” He groans. “How about you do something useful, captain?”
“Like what, kitty?”
Cloud grips the damp piece of wood in his hand in annoyance. “Like maybe finding things to keep the water out of here.” He tosses the wood aside.
“Sure.” You stretch.
The two of you worked together to make the old building livable for the night and went to sleep thinking it’d be over by morning.
Cloud wakes up to the loud sound of thunder and sighs. He sees you leaning against the wall. “It's still raining.”
“It sure is.” You chuckle. “We might be here for a while, kitty. Unless you want to run out and somehow dodge all that lightning?”
The two of you are way too far from the base to even consider doing that. The job pays well but not enough for Cloud to not be annoyed with this sudden detour. “I better get a bonus for this.”
“Of course. You could get paid even more if you did me a little favor.”
He raises an eyebrow.
“About 60,000 gil plus your bonus pay.”
“What is it?” He asks, attentive.
You smirk. “Since we're gonna be stuck here for who knows how long, I think it’d be nice to do something as a…pastime of sorts.”
“Stop beating around the bush.”
You motion for him to come over. He rolls his eyes and gets up. “I know you're talented in so many ways,” You grab his wrist and pull him close to you. “And I wanna see if you're talented in this way too.”
He pushes you and steps back, his cheeks red. “Don't even think about it.”
“It was worth a shot.” You laugh.
He shakes his head and decides to explore the building more, far from you.
The sun set and the sky continued to pour. Then days passed. You rationed food and managed to find other edible things to keep yourselves alive but the situation isn't all that great for you. You're still functioning, but just by a small margin.
The two of you were able to collect rainwater to drink and help yourselves clean up. Cloud insisted on doing it upstairs so you wouldn't watch him. You promised you wouldn't but you were lying.
As time went on, it was getting harder and harder to keep it in your pants. Your mental state started to get a little wonky thanks to your body not getting all the nutrients it needs. You couldn't stop thinking about how much you wanted him, especially since it was better than thinking about food. It got to a point where you couldn't even fall asleep.
You look at Cloud’s sleeping face, studying the slight movements in his facial muscles as he dreams. The soft glow of your lamp allows you to properly see him despite the darkness. His chest slowly rises and falls. You know if you made an attempt, he’d wake up, any good soldier would. But it's getting hard to control yourself. Being in such close proximity with him is driving you mad. You hesitantly, and very softly, touch his shoulder. He doesn't react. You poke his cheek. Nothing. You pause.
You trace your finger down his chest and to his pants. You carefully unbuckle his belt and unzip his pants. He doesn't seem to notice you pulling them down. You take in a small breath. You're so nervous it feels like there's a hole in your chest. You remove his boxers at an agonizingly slow pace. You gulp as you start to see his pussy. Light blond tufts of hair beautifully surround his soft, pudgy cunt and his t-dick. You look at him. He's sleeping peacefully. He must be more tired than usual tonight.
You gently pull his underwear down his ankles and place it on the end of the blanket he’s laying on. You carefully spread his legs and slot yourself in between them. As you begin to free your aching hard dick, you start to feel a little bad. You tell yourself to give him a huge bonus after this. You gently rub your cock along his pussy, knowing you can definitely get off just by doing this. You don't want it to hurt, at least not too much, so you decide not to penetrate him since your luck would probably run out if you tried to prep him properly.
You bite down on your lip. The view is making you feel dizzy. Your ears drown out the sounds of the thunder storm and focus entirely on Cloud. On his soft, gentle breaths and the squelching sound of his wet pussy, aroused by your cock pressing itself against it. Your heart starts to pound louder, ruining your focus on Cloud.
You let out a breathy gasp as you begin to feel your climax approaching. Your eyes flicker over to his face, watching to make sure he's still asleep. You don't know how you’ve gotten this far but you're no longer so sure that you’ll be able to stop here. Your movements stutter as your cum splatters on his body.
“Cloud..” You whisper. His lack of reaction emboldens you to keep going. You move back and slide your middle finger inside his cunt. Squelch. It sucks it in with ease, and same with your ring finger. You slowly open him up while using your free hand to jerk yourself off. He twitches. You pause and look at him before continuing.
You eventually decide to stop and finally get to the good part. You gently lift Cloud’s legs and position the tip of your cock in front of his entrance. You take your time easing into him while constantly checking if he's awake.
Once you're finally fully inside, you take a couple minutes to take everything in. You're in serious disbelief but way too horny to be concerned about it. You know that, at this point, if he wakes up, you’ll be able to overpower him.
You slowly thrust into him, happily indulging in the wonders of Cloud Strife’s pussy. You gently caress his t-dick, smiling when you start to hear him whimper. “You feel so good, Cloud– ‘s like you were made for me, to tempt me..” You murmur, gradually picking up the pace. “I didn't think it’d be so easy…”
“Maybe you're not even asleep. No properly trained soldier would sleep through something like this…I wonder if you're enjoying this. Getting off on me assaulting you in your sleep like a slut.” You notice his cheeks starting to turn red. A chill runs down your spine as you start to get a feeling your assumption is correct. “You like this, Cloud? Letting yourself get taken advantage of? Does it feel good getting treated like a cocksleeve?”
He whimpers, his cunt squeezing you.
“I know you're awake. Answer me.”
His eyes flutter open, his face flushed and deliciously seductive. “It– it feels good-!” He moans.
“Good boy.” You grin. You never would've thought Cloud would be into something like this. You roughly pound into him. He cries out in pleasure, feeling his orgasm approaching. “‘M gonna come inside and you're gonna take it like the good kitty you are.”
“Ye- yes–!” He shuts his eyes, squirting on your dick. His mouth hangs open as the aftershocks hit him. He smiles dreamily as he feels your cum flow inside of him.
You stop and catch your breath. “Did you reject me hoping this would happen?”
Cloud nods softly. “I didn't think it would…but I wanted it to.”
…..........
He pushes you and steps back. “Don't even think about it.”
“It was worth a shot.”
He shakes his head and decides to explore the building more, far from you.
Cloud climbed the semi-intact stairs and explored the second floor of the building. There wasn't anything noteworthy inside but it did give him much needed privacy. No room to lay down but he didn't need to anyway.
He walked behind a wall to hide himself in case you decided to follow him, and unbuckled his pants. He stuck his hand down them and gently caressed his t-dick. He always knew you were attracted to him, it wasn't like you were hiding it, and he pretended that he hated it. He loves your pet names and the lustful way you look at his body. Part of him hoped that one day, you’d just force yourself on him and claim him like a prize. He didn't think it'd ever happen but he never got tired of fantasizing about it. He hoped he'd have some sort of opportunity for you to finally make your move.
He'd imagine you cornering him in the locker room showers and covering his mouth to make sure no one finds out.
Cloud sneakily rubs his sensitive nipples against the cold wall tiles as you enter him. “Shh, this is what you get for being such a tease.” You spank him, your cock forcefully entering his pussy. Cloud shivers at the sounds of your heavy breathing. He can tell how aroused you are and how much you love his body. He rolls his eyes back as you stretch him wide open, his own heavy breaths making him feel lightheaded.
Or he’d imagine you giving him an ultimatum and forcing him to submit to you in exchange for keeping his job.
Cloud fakes a look of disgust as he stares at your rock hard cock. He looks up at you then back at your length, hesitating before enveloping it in his mouth. “There you go, Cloud, finally doing what I hired you for.” You praise him. He shudders at the thought, his pussy throbbing with need. “This is what you should be doing, not out on the battlefield but here, pleasing me.”
He looks up at you, trying to look angry. You smirk and push his head down, forcing him to shift his focus back.
His latest fantasy was about being trapped together. He hoped that something would happen to keep the two of you together for a long time. And he’d tease you even more to frustrate you. Then you’d finally do it.
He didn't think that exact scenario would actually play out.

The hum of the television filled the living room, a soft background noise to the steady rhythm of Tyler’s breathing. His arm draped lazily over your shoulders, his hand resting against your collarbone, warm and reassuring. You leaned into him, your legs tucked under you, savoring the rare stillness of the moment.
Tyler had been home for twelve hours, and for ten of them, he’d been passed out in your bed, utterly spent after a grueling two-week storm chase. You’d stayed up waiting for him to walk through the door last night, running on caffeine and the sheer anticipation of seeing him again. When he finally stumbled in, soaked to the bone and bone-tired, you didn’t mind his muttered apologies for being late or the faint smell of rain that clung to him. You were just happy he was home.
Now, as he held you on the couch, his thumb absentmindedly tracing patterns against your skin, you allowed yourself to breathe. It was these quiet moments that made all the waiting, all the worry, worth it.
“You’re awfully quiet,” Tyler murmured, his voice husky from sleep. He shifted slightly, his head tilting toward you, those familiar brown eyes heavy-lidded but focused entirely on you.
“I’m just glad you’re here,” you admitted softly, your fingers toying with the hem of his T-shirt. “Two weeks felt like forever.”
“I know,” he said, his voice tinged with guilt. “I didn’t think it would take that long. Storms were... unpredictable this time.”
You reached up, brushing a stray lock of his wavy brown hair off his forehead. “It’s okay. I get it. You’re home now—that’s what matters.”
He let out a long breath, leaning his head back against the couch. “Home,” he echoed, almost as if the word was foreign to him. But the way his arm tightened around you, pulling you closer, made it clear that he understood exactly what it meant.
“Hungry?” you asked after a beat, breaking the comfortable silence.
“Starving,” he admitted, a small grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“Well, you’re in luck. I made lasagna last night. Figured you’d need something hearty after living off gas station snacks and fast food.”
Tyler chuckled, his voice rumbling against you. “Have I mentioned lately how lucky I am to have you?”
You tilted your head to look at him, your smile mirroring his. “Not today. But you can start now.”
He laughed softly, pressing a kiss to your temple.
“I’ll do better,” he promised, and in that moment, with his warmth surrounding you and the steady beat of his heart under your ear, you believed him.
The oven beeped softly as you set the timer, the warm smell of lasagna already starting to fill the kitchen. It wouldn’t be as good as it was fresh last night, but Tyler wouldn’t care. He’d scarf it down and tell you it was the best meal he’d had in weeks, and you’d believe him because that’s just who he was—always grateful, always sincere.
You were rinsing a glass in the sink when you heard the faint buzz of Tyler’s phone vibrating against the coffee table in the living room. His deep voice carried over the quiet hum of the house as he answered. You couldn’t make out the words, but you had a pretty good guess who it was. Boone or Dani, maybe both. You leaned against the counter, straining to catch fragments of the conversation. Tyler’s voice was calm but firm, his words clipped in the way they always were when he was focused on a problem.
The sound of his footsteps moving toward the stairs made your stomach twist. You turned just in time to see him disappear up to the second floor, the weight of dread settling over you like a heavy blanket. You didn’t need to ask what was happening; you already knew.
Still, you found yourself following him, your bare feet padding softly on the stairs. By the time you reached the doorway to your bedroom, Tyler was pulling clothes from the dresser, a duffel bag already lying open on the bed. He didn’t notice you at first, too preoccupied with finding what he needed. You leaned against the doorframe, crossing your arms as you watched him.
“How bad is it?” you asked finally, your voice quieter than you intended.
Tyler glanced over his shoulder, startled by your presence, but he didn’t stop packing.
“Really bad,” he admitted, shoving a few shirts into the bag. “There’s a cell headed straight for Oklahoma City. Boone says it’s one of the nastiest cells he’s seen in a while.”
“How long will you be gone this time?” you asked, already bracing yourself for the answer.
He sighed, pausing as he reached for a pair of jeans. “I don’t know. Hopefully just a few nights.”
You nodded, though the lump in your throat made it hard to swallow. “Do you really need to go? You just got back, Ty. Can’t you sit this one out? Just once?”
Tyler turned to face you, his expression conflicted. “I wish I could, but this one’s bad. Towns are gonna need us. Javi and Kate are already on their way, and Dani’s meeting us there.”
You flinched at the mention of her name. Kate. It wasn’t that you didn’t trust Tyler—you did, completely. He was a good man, loyal to a fault. But lately, it felt like every story he told, every update he gave, involved her. Kate this, Kate that. The team. Always the team.
The crack in your voice surprised even you when you finally spoke. “Just go. Go hang out with Kate. You’ve gotten pretty good at that.”
The words hung in the air like a storm cloud, heavy and electric. Tyler froze, the shirt in his hand forgotten as he turned to look at you. His face fell, hurt flickering in his eyes before he sighed and set the shirt down on the bed.
“That’s not fair,” he said quietly, his tone even but weighted. “You know that’s not what this is about.”
“I know,” you whispered, tears stinging your eyes as you looked away. “I just... I don’t want you to go, Tyler.”
“I don’t want to go either,” he said, stepping toward you. His voice was softer now, but there was still a hint of frustration. “But this is what I do. What we do. You knew that when you moved in.”
“And what about what I need?” you countered, your arms tightening across your chest. “You’ve been gone for two weeks, Ty. Two weeks. I barely got you back, and now you’re leaving again.”
He didn’t respond right away, his jaw tightening as he searched for the right words. Instead of answering, he reached for you, his hand brushing against your arm. But you pulled back, shaking your head as a tear slipped down your cheek.
“Don’t,” you murmured. “Just… pack your bag.”
You turned sharply on your heel, heading back downstairs before the tears welling in your eyes could spill over. Tyler’s sigh was heavy, cutting through the thick silence of the house. You heard his footsteps following you, faster now, as he called after you.
“Darlin’,” he said, his voice soft but insistent. “C’mon, wait.”
You didn’t stop. You didn’t want to have this conversation, not when your emotions were this raw, but he caught up to you at the bottom of the stairs, his hand reaching gently for your arm.
“Sweetheart, please,” he tried again, stepping in front of you to block your retreat. His green eyes searched yours, filled with concern and something you couldn’t quite place. “I don’t want to leave like this.”
You scoffed, pulling your arm free and folding it across your chest. “Funny, that. You seem to have no problem leaving any other time.”
He winced at the jab, but his expression softened as he tried to explain. “It’s not what you think. I know you’re upset about Kate, but—”
“This isn’t about her, Ty,” you interrupted, shaking your head as you turned away from him.
The frustration in his face shifted to confusion. “Then what is it? Why are you so upset?”
Your hands clenched at your sides as you looked at him, trying to find the words that would make him understand. “I’m upset because you’re leaving. Again. Because every time you walk out that door, I don’t know how long it’ll be until I see you again. And I’m supposed to just… deal with it. Like it doesn’t matter. Like I don’t matter.”
“Darlin’…” he started, but you cut him off again.
“My birthday party is on Saturday, Ty,” you said, your voice cracking as you met his gaze. “In two days. You knew that, right?”
His face told you everything you needed to know before he said a word. He’d either forgotten or hadn’t thought about it when he’d agreed to meet up with the team. The guilt in his eyes was enough to send a fresh wave of hurt through you.
“I’ll try to be back for it,” he said finally, but you could hear the hollowness in the promise. You both knew it wasn’t likely.
You felt your heart ache, the words barely leaving your lips. “Do you even realize what that does to me? The hoping, the waiting—knowing you probably won’t be there?”
He stepped closer, reaching for your hand, but you pulled away. “I want to stay,” he said earnestly, his voice breaking ever so slightly. “I do. But I can’t. I’m needed out there. These storms, they—”
“Don’t,” you whispered, shaking your head. “Don’t say it.”
“Darlin’, just let it go,” he pleaded, his voice desperate now. “I’ll be back as soon as I can. I swear. And when I get back, we’ll have a date night. Whatever you want. You plan it, I’ll make it happen. Just... let me go, okay?”
The tears you’d been holding back slipped free, rolling down your cheeks as you finally broke. “I can’t just let you go,” you said, your voice trembling. “Not this time, Ty. Please. Don’t make me try to make you stay.”
He reached for you again, but this time, you didn’t pull away. Instead, you let him take your hands in his, his warmth grounding you even as your heart shattered.
“I just…” Your voice cracked as you looked up at him, the tears blurring your vision. “I just want to be enough. Just once, I want to be enough for you to stay.”
The words hung in the air, raw and aching, as Tyler’s grip on your hands tightened. He opened his mouth to respond, but for the first time, he seemed at a loss. His eyes searched yours, the storm inside him almost as intense as the one he was chasing.
Before Tyler could say anything else, his phone buzzed, the sound sharp and intrusive in the quiet tension between you. He pulled it from his pocket, glancing at the screen. His jaw tightened as he sighed, the weight of the message clearly written in his expression.
“Boone’ll be here in about fifteen minutes,” he said softly, sliding the phone back into his pocket. “I need to finish packing.”
You didn’t respond, only nodding as you reached up to swipe at the tears still slipping down your cheeks. His words, as well-intentioned as they might have been, were a knife to the heart. He wasn’t saying, I’ll stay, or even, Let’s finish talking. He was saying, I’ve already made my choice.
“I’ll be back in a minute,” Tyler said, his voice heavy with something that might have been regret. “We can keep talking then.”
But you both knew the truth. He might want to come back to this conversation, but the fact that he was finishing packing first told you everything you needed to know. Nothing you could say would make him stay.
When he returned downstairs, duffel bag slung over his shoulder, you heard Boone’s old beat up van pulling into the driveway. The headlights briefly lit up the kitchen window before Tyler opened the door and called out to his friend, “I’ll be right there.”
Then he turned back to you. You were still at the counter, picking absently at your lasagna, the fork dragging across your plate. The second plate—the one you’d made for him—sat untouched, cooling and forgotten.
He hesitated for a moment, then stepped closer. “Darlin’,” he said softly, his voice full of unspoken apologies. “I’ll be back before you know it.”
You didn’t look up, but you felt him lean in to press a kiss to your lips. You turned away at the last second, and his kiss landed awkwardly on your cheek. He sighed and shifted, settling instead for a kiss on the crown of your head.
“I love you,” he murmured, his voice almost breaking.
You swallowed the lump in your throat, forcing the words past it. “I love you, too.”
And you did. God, you did. You loved him to a fault, even when it felt like your love wasn’t enough to make him stay.
“Be safe,” you whispered.
“I will,” he promised, his words like a balm to a wound that wouldn’t heal.
You watched him walk out the door, your eyes stinging with fresh tears as Tyler’s truck rumbled to life. You watched through the kitchen window as Tyler threw his bag into the back and climbed into the driver’s seat, his figure silhouetted in the dim glow of the driveway lights. Boone threw his own bag into the backseat and then climbed into the passenger seat.
And then they were gone. Tailights headed up the driveway and then disappearing as Tyler turned onto the highway.
You stood there for a long moment, staring at the empty driveway, wondering—When will he be done with this? With chasing every storm, every call for adventure? You blinked, and the tears spilled over, hot and unrelenting.
You made your way back to the living room, the familiar comfort of the worn couch doing little to ease the ache in your chest. Your mind wandered as you sank into the cushions, your fingers absentmindedly tracing the fabric.
You thought back to a conversation you and Tyler had a few weeks ago, one of those late-night talks where the future seemed so bright and full of possibility. He’d talked about marriage, about having kids. About building a life together.
But now, as you sat there in the quiet, the weight of his absence pressing down on you, a painful thought crept in. How could he ever be a husband or a father when he barely had time to be a boyfriend?
The realization broke something in you. You wanted that life with Tyler more than anything. You wanted to be his wife, to see him become a father. You wanted to build a family with him, to share those moments of joy and chaos and love.
But you didn’t want him to be a part-time dad. You didn’t want a husband who was always somewhere else, chasing storms and leaving you behind.
And for the first time, you wondered if the life you wanted was even possible with the man you loved.
* * * *
TYLER’S P.O.V.
The rhythmic hum of Tyler’s truck tires against the highway should have been soothing, but to Tyler, it felt like nails on a chalkboard. He stared out the window, his elbow propped on the door, fingers pressed against his temple. The world outside was dark, illuminated only by the truck’s headlights and the occasional glow of a passing sign.
Boone cast a sideways glance at him for what had to be the tenth time in the last fifteen minutes. Tyler knew it was only a matter of time before he spoke up, but he wasn’t ready to talk. Not yet.
“You gonna tell me what’s eatin’ at you, or do I have to drag it outta you?” Boone finally asked, breaking the silence.
Tyler didn’t respond at first, just shifted in his seat and rubbed the back of his neck.
“C’mon, man,” Boone continued. “We’ve been friends too long for me not to know when somethin’s wrong. You’ve barely said a word since we left, haven’t turned on the music, and you’re starin’ out the window like the answer to life’s problems is out there somewhere.”
Tyler sighed, long and heavy, before leaning back in his seat. “It’s nothin’, Boone. Just tired.”
Boone snorted, unimpressed. “Bull. You’ve pulled all-nighters before and still wouldn’t shut up the whole ride. Don’t make me guess, Ty. Just spit it out.”
Tyler let out a bitter chuckle, shaking his head. “You’re like a damn bloodhound, you know that?”
“Yup. Now spill.”
Tyler hesitated, but finally gave in. “We had a fight,” he admitted quietly.
Boone glanced at him again, his brows furrowing. “You and her?”
Tyler nodded. “Yeah. Right before I left.”
“What about?” Boone asked, his tone softening.
Tyler hesitated again, struggling to find the right words. “I dunno, man. Not really Kate, but…I guess kinda about Kate?” He let out another sigh. “She’s not mad about her, though. She’s mad about me leavin’. Again.”
Boone didn’t say anything at first, just let Tyler talk.
“She told me she needed me to stay,” Tyler continued, his voice quieter now. “For her. For once, she needed me to stay, and I still…I didn’t.” He swallowed hard, the weight of his own words settling heavily on his chest.
Boone nodded slowly. “And you think you messed up bad this time?”
Tyler’s laugh was humorless, almost bitter. “Yeah, Boone. I think I really screwed up. She turned away when I tried to kiss her goodbye, man. That’s never happened before. And the look on her face…” His voice cracked, and he paused, swallowing against the lump in his throat.
Boone glanced at him again, concern etched across his face. “She loves you, Ty. You know that, right?”
“I know,” Tyler said, his voice barely above a whisper. “But what if…what if it’s not enough anymore? What if I’m not enough anymore?” He shook his head, his voice breaking again. “I can’t lose her, Boone. I can’t.”
Boone tightened his grip on the wheel, his jaw set. “Then don’t. You’re stubborn as hell when it comes to everything else, so don’t give up on this either. You’ll figure it out, Ty.”
Tyler nodded, running a hand over his face. “Yeah,” he murmured. “I know.”
The two fell into silence again, but this time it wasn’t quite as heavy. Boone reached over and turned on the radio, keeping the volume low. Tyler leaned his head back against the seat, staring at the roof of the truck and trying to figure out how the hell he was going to fix this.
* * * *
TWO DAYS LATER, YOUR BIRTHDAY
The sun streamed through your bedroom window as you sat on the edge of the bed, staring down at your phone. A single missed call and a few unread texts from Tyler stared back at you. You hadn’t opened the messages, too stubborn—or maybe too hurt—to even look at them. It wasn’t that you didn’t care. You cared too much, and that was the problem.
You opened the Life360 app for what had to be the hundredth time in the last two days, watching Tyler’s little icon blink on the map. Still in Oklahoma. Still chasing storms. Still too far away to make it home.
Even if he left right now, you calculated bitterly, it’d be three, maybe four in the morning before he walked through the door. But he wasn’t leaving. You knew that. The tracker told you everything you needed to know—Tyler Owens wasn’t coming home for your birthday.
You locked your phone and tossed it onto the bed, your chest tightening with the familiar ache of disappointment. It wasn’t anger. No, anger would have been easier. Anger would have been a quick burn, a flash of heat that you could let out and be done with. This was worse. This was the cold, dull ache of hurt.
You stood and moved to the mirror, staring at your reflection as you got ready for the party. You’d spent weeks planning this, excited to celebrate with the people you loved most. Now, the thought of facing them felt almost unbearable. Everyone would ask about Tyler, and you’d have to put on a brave face, smile through the questions, and pretend like you weren’t holding your breath every time your phone buzzed, hoping it’d be him telling you he was on his way.
But you knew better. He wasn’t coming.
As you brushed a stray tear from your cheek, your mind wandered back to the conversation you’d had with Tyler a few weeks ago. He’d talked about your future together, about getting married and having kids, painting a picture of a life you’d always dreamed of. But now, the cracks in that picture seemed impossible to ignore. How could you build a life with someone who was always halfway out the door?
You closed your eyes, inhaling deeply as you fought to push those thoughts aside. Not today. You wouldn’t let them ruin today. This was your birthday, and you deserved to enjoy it, even if he wasn’t there.
Straightening your shoulders, you turned back to the mirror and gave yourself a firm nod. You’d put on your best dress, your brightest smile, and celebrate with the people who were here. But as you stepped away from the mirror and picked up your phone again, that stubborn, nagging ache in your chest reminded you that no matter how hard you tried, a part of you would always be waiting for him.
The party was in full swing by the time you arrived, the sound of laughter and conversation filling the air. String lights hung from the trees, casting a warm glow over the backyard, and the scent of barbecue wafted through the cool evening breeze. Everyone had shown up—friends, family, even a few coworkers. It should’ve felt perfect.
But as you smiled and greeted everyone, it felt like you were moving through a haze. The excitement and joy on everyone else’s faces only seemed to amplify the emptiness you felt inside. You plastered on a smile, accepting hugs and well-wishes, thanking people for coming, but the effort was exhausting.
A couple of hours in, you found yourself standing near the drink table, sipping from a plastic cup of wine and watching the crowd. Your mom made her way over, a warm smile on her face, but the moment she reached you, her brow furrowed slightly.
“Honey, where’s Tyler?” she asked, her voice gentle but laced with curiosity.
You froze for a moment, gripping the cup a little tighter. “Oh, he’s, um, he’s on a chase,” you said, forcing the words out. “It came up last minute.”
Her expression softened with understanding, but you could see the concern flicker in her eyes. “I’m sure he wishes he could be here,” she said, reaching out to touch your arm.
You nodded quickly, blinking back the sting of tears. “Yeah, of course. He’s been texting me. He feels awful about it.” The lie slipped out so easily, you almost believed it yourself.
Your mom gave you a small squeeze before drifting back into the crowd, but the interaction left you rattled. You tried to shake it off, turning to join a group of friends by the fire pit, laughing at their stories and pretending like everything was fine.
But as the hours dragged on, the weight of Tyler’s absence pressed heavier on your chest. Every time someone asked about him or mentioned how great the party was, it felt like a reminder of what was missing. You glanced at your watch—10:03. The party was supposed to go until one, but you couldn’t stay another minute.
You slipped away quietly, grabbing your purse and coat from the entryway. A few people called out goodbyes as you left, and you forced a smile, waving over your shoulder as you made your way to the car.
The drive home was a blur. By the time you walked through the front door, the tears you’d been holding back all evening finally broke free. You kicked off your heels and sank onto the couch, burying your face in your hands as sobs wracked your body.
You’d wanted so badly to enjoy tonight, to celebrate with the people who loved you. But the one person you needed most wasn’t there, and no amount of pretending could fill that void.
You thought about all the times you’d told yourself it was okay, that Tyler’s work was important, that you understood why he couldn’t always be there. But tonight, it didn’t feel okay. Tonight, you just felt… alone.
And as you curled up on the couch, clutching a throw pillow to your chest, a single thought echoed in your mind: How much longer can I keep doing this?
* * * *
The soft light of dawn filtered through the curtains as Tyler stepped through the front door. Exhaustion pulled at him, but it wasn’t what he noticed. What stopped him cold was the sight of you curled up on the couch, a pillow clutched to your chest, tear tracks staining your cheeks. His heart sank.
He set his bag down quietly, running a hand through his disheveled hair. He knew he’d hurt you—he always knew—but seeing it like this, seeing you broken because of him, twisted the knife in his chest.
Carefully, he walked over and crouched beside the couch. For a moment, he just looked at you, the rise and fall of your chest as you slept. The way your fingers clung to the pillow as if it could offer some comfort.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispered, his voice thick.
Tyler leaned down and slid his arms under you, lifting you gently. You stirred slightly, murmuring in your sleep, but you didn’t wake. He carried you upstairs, careful not to bump into anything, and laid you down on the bed. He pulled the blankets up to your shoulders, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face before leaving quietly.
A few hours later, you made your way downstairs, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. Your body felt heavy, your chest tight. The events of last night still hung over you like a storm cloud.
As you reached the living room, you noticed him sitting on the couch, elbows on his knees, staring at the floor. A bouquet of wildflowers sat on the coffee table in front of him, their bright colors almost mocking in the dull atmosphere.
He heard your steps and looked up, his face lighting up with a hopeful smile. “Morning,” he said softly, standing and walking toward you.
You stopped at the base of the stairs, arms crossed, as he closed the distance. He reached out, pulling you into his arms.
“You look pretty,” he said, his voice warm and tender.
You huffed, pulling back just enough to look at him. “I cried myself to sleep last night, so I’m sure I look like a supermodel,” you said, your voice laced with sarcasm.
His smile faltered, and his brow furrowed. “You cried yourself to sleep?” he repeated, his voice dropping with guilt. “God, I’m so sorry.”
You pulled away, shaking your head, and walked past him into the living room. His gaze followed you, the weight of your silence pressing down on him.
“I missed you,” he said softly, his voice tentative.
You didn’t respond. You sat down on the armrest of the chair, staring at the flowers but refusing to acknowledge him.
Tyler sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Okay, silent treatment. Got it.” He stepped closer, his tone pleading now. “What’s it gonna take to make this up to you?”
You looked up at him then, your eyes sharp and filled with hurt. “It’s too late for that.”
His face fell, and for a moment, he just stared at you, as if the words hadn’t fully sunk in. “What do you mean?” he asked, his voice cracking.
You took a deep breath, the words tasting bitter as you forced them out. “I mean I’m done, Tyler. I can’t keep doing this. I can’t keep having you miss things—important things—for the job.”
He staggered back a step, as if the words had physically struck him. “No, no, don’t say that,” he said, his voice breaking. “Please, don’t say that.”
His knees hit the floor in front of you, his hands reaching for yours. “I can’t lose you. I’ll do better, I promise. I’ll talk to the team—I already did. I told them I’d cut back on the days I’m on the road. I swear to you, it’ll be different.”
You shook your head, tears spilling down your cheeks. “It’s too late, Tyler. You should’ve done that months ago. I begged you to.”
His hands gripped yours tighter, desperation pouring out of him. “I know. I know I screwed up. I know I’ve hurt you. But I love you. I need you. Please… just give me one more chance.”
You looked away, your heart-shattering at the sight of him, broken and pleading. You wanted so badly to believe him, to believe that things could change. But deep down, you knew the cycle would continue.
The finality in your voice broke him. He leaned his forehead against your knees, his shoulders shaking as he choked back a sob. You reached down, your fingers threading through his hair one last time, and then you stood, walking away before you could change your mind.

A WEEK LATER
The house was eerily quiet, save for the faint creak of the floorboards as Tyler shuffled aimlessly from room to room. He hadn’t left in days, couldn’t bring himself to. The walls seemed to press in around him, suffocating and empty. The coffee table still held the dead bouquet of wildflowers he’d bought for you, their once-vivid colors now dulled to brown. Next to them sat the small red box, untouched, its contents a painful reminder of what he’d lost.
He sank onto the couch, rubbing his hands over his face. His eyes burned, swollen from too many sleepless nights and too many tears. He hadn’t eaten much. He hadn’t showered. He couldn’t bring himself to care. Every corner of the house was haunted by you—your laughter, your smile, the faint scent of your perfume still lingering in the air.
A sharp knock at the door startled him. He ignored it, hoping whoever it was would go away. But the knocking came again, louder this time, and then he heard Boone’s voice calling out.
“Tyler! Open the damn door!”
Tyler groaned, dragging himself off the couch. He unlocked the door and swung it open, only to find Boone, Lilly, Dexter, and Dani standing on his porch. They took one look at him, and their faces fell.
“Jesus, man,” Boone said, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation. The others followed, their expressions a mix of concern and shock.
“You look like hell,” Lilly said softly, her hand brushing his arm.
Tyler let out a humorless laugh. “Yeah, well, it feels about right.”
They gathered in the living room, their eyes flicking to the dead flowers and the mess of empty coffee cups and takeout containers scattered on the table. Boone cleared his throat, leaning forward.
“All right, spill. What the hell happened?”
Tyler sank back onto the couch, his head in his hands. He took a shaky breath before finally speaking. “She’s gone,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
The room fell silent. Boone exchanged a confused look with Dexter, while Dani’s hand flew to her mouth.
“Gone?” Lilly asked. “What do you mean, gone? We knew you two fought, but… Tyler, we thought you’d work it out.”
Tyler shook his head, his voice breaking. “She’s done. She walked out, and I don’t blame her. I couldn’t—” He stopped, his throat tightening. “I couldn’t give her what she needed. I wasn’t there for her. She deserved better, and I couldn’t be that for her.”
Boone leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. “Tyler, man, you’ve gotta talk to her. Fix this.”
“It’s too late,” Tyler said, his voice hollow. “She’s made up her mind.”
The group exchanged glances, unsure of what to say. Boone’s gaze drifted to the coffee table, where the small red box caught his attention. He reached for it, his fingers brushing the worn velvet.
Tyler’s head snapped up. “Boone, don’t—”
But it was too late. Boone flipped the lid open, his eyes widening as he took in the ring inside. The room went still.
“Tyler,” Boone said, his voice low. “What is this?”
Tyler’s jaw clenched, and he looked away, unable to meet his friend’s gaze. “It’s… it was supposed to be hers,” he said quietly. “I was going to ask her that night we got back. I was going to tell her I was ready to change, ready to be better for her. Ask her to give me one more chance. But it didn’t matter. I waited too long.”
The weight of his confession hung in the air, pressing down on everyone in the room. Lilly’s eyes shimmered with unshed tears, and Dani reached over to place a comforting hand on Tyler’s arm.
“Tyler,” Dexter said gently, “it’s not too late. If you love her, you fight for her. You show her you’re serious. You don’t give up now.”
Tyler shook his head. “She’s better off without me,” he muttered.
“No,” Boone said firmly, closing the ring box and setting it back on the table. “She’s not. She loves you, Tyler.”
Tyler didn’t respond. He just stared at the floor, the weight of their words battling with the doubt and regret that consumed him.
The room fell silent again, each of them searching for the right thing to say. Finally, Lilly spoke up, her voice soft but determined.
“Tyler, you don’t have to do this alone. We’ll help you figure it out.”
Tyler’s shoulders sagged, and for the first time in days, a flicker of hope pierced through the darkness. “I don’t know if she’ll even listen,” he said quietly.
“You don’t know unless you try,” Boone said.
Tyler stands up abruptly, grabbing his keys, his mind set on finding you. But Boone, ever the realist, steps in his path. He holds up a hand, a half-smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.
"Ty, you’re not going anywhere like that," Boone says, looking him up and down. "You’ve been living like a hermit for a week. You smell like you’ve slept in a barn, and I’m pretty sure your hair has its own ecosystem. Go take a shower, put on some clean clothes, and then we’ll talk about how you’re gonna win her back. You can’t even look at her like this."
Tyler stares at Boone, then looks down at his own disheveled appearance, realizing his friend might have a point. With a sigh, he drops the keys onto the counter. “Fine.
Boone watches him with a knowing look as Tyler trudges upstairs, and the team remains silent for a moment.
Boone sighs and heads toward the door, turning back once to glance at Tyler’s room. He knows his friend isn’t ready to give up, and neither is he. Tyler had made his mistake, but it wasn’t too late to change. They just had to get him there first...and then hope by some miracle that you'd listen to what Tyler had to say.

Daphne Archeron had never known the luxury of money, like her sisters had. And though Feyre would say that her experience was brief, she still spent the majority of her childhood in riches, where daphne had spent it in rags.
Though the age gap was small between as four sisters, no more than three years between them each, it seemed the three years between her birth and Feyre changed a lot for the Archeron family. And by the time Daphne was five, the constantly dwindling funds had finally run out. The home she had always known to be empty, with less and less furniture as the days went by became repossessed a small hovel became there home.
A home which quickly became filled with illness and daphne and her mother caught typhus.
And illness which killed her mother and changed Daphne’s life.
It was odd how she could scarcely remember a time before her illness, and yet she fondly looked back on the few memories she had.
She knew her siblings had a difficult relationship with their mother, and yet her mother seemed to care deeply for her youngest child.
Peprahs it was because she was the spiting image of her mother, according to Nesta at least. Or that she was the calmest child, she never cried or threw tantrums. Or perhaps it was that she was content following her mother around and doing as she said, something she seemed to do now to each of her sisters instead.
She remembered in blurry memories when her and her mother got sick. How in the small hovel, on there one bed, the mother and daughter suffered side by side, with no money for a healer and simply having to rely on the efforts of three children and a man who mourned his wife and daughter before they had even passed. \
She had been beside her self when her mother passed, and though she hadn’t died, she herself had never truly recovered.
Her hearing was damaged, and though she could hear, she had to focus and spent most of her time reading lips more than actually listening.
Her body was sickly, and quick to catch any illness going around the village.
And to her sisters, that meant forever treating her like a child.
Things only got worse for her after debt collectors came two years into there life of poverty.
She remembered how her sisters had stood there and watched as there fathers legs was shattered and he was beaten. And she a girl of eight was the one to spring into action, grabbing a knife and throwing into the head of the man beating her father.
She remembered the gasps, the shocked looks of her sisters, and the even more shocked look of the men as they took her in, there faces going from smirks as they took in a small child defending her father, to a look of horror as another knife sliced through the air.
The men had run out shortly after and Daphne was left to scream and cry in horror at what she had done, as she watch the mans body dropped to the floor and the others fled, fearing the small child, who had started to fear herself.
After that day, Daphne refused to speak. A stray word her or there, a perhaps a gasp or hum. But nothing more.
As time passed Daphne began to see herself only has a burden, often being forgotten unless she was incredibly ill or her sisters needed her to end a dispute.
She knew her family struggled more so that they should, how Feyre had been forced to hunt to feed and provide for the family, with her kills and selling their fathers wood carvings. She saw as her sisters hounded Feyre for money over helping her out or getting jobs to provide for the family. All whilst Feyre was forced to spend any money on medicines for her.
She saw the pitying eyes her sisters sent her, pity struggling to hide the contempt they all felt.
And though she had tried to help, by hunting with Feyre, even though it was quickly forbidden after Nesta found out. She would get a job, but who would hire a sickly, mute girl with no education or skills?
She was frustrated, unable to help and yet the biggest burden. Ruled by her sisters and treated like a child.
She had never been rebellious, never had the want to be and yet today, she found her self in the forest, with the will to make up for being the burden that she was, hoping to do so by finding dinner for her family.
And though she had only been a handful of time with Feyre before Nesta forbade her from taking you, and had little skill with an bow and arrow, her only skill was that of the throwing single dagger and several kitchen knives her family possessed.
She found herself sat in a tree, a dagger in hand as well and the kitchen knives strapped to a tunic she had stolen from Feyre.
She had looked and searched for close to an hour before she saw a deer, and found herself sat in a tree, as she watched the deer slowly approach with unsure movements. It reminded her of herself almost. With its doe eyes and reddish fur. It was young, clearly lost as it looked around for something or someone.
Her dagger trembled in her hand.
She willed it to move but to no avail.
The more she looked at the doe the more she saw herself.
With there shared amber eyes and brown hair, the does faced seemed to merge into her own. A face she shared with her mother. A face that haunted her every time she fell asleep in the very bed her mother died in whilst holding her.
But the doe was like any other doe she supposed. Yet it seemed like a complete mirror of herself.
Her hand shook as she tried to force herself to throw the dagger.
The deer looked up, eyeing her curiously. No fear in its eyes, as it eyed her and her hand lowered.
And a sigh of defeat left her mouth.
Perhaps a rabbit would be easier or at least be less likely to look like her.
The deer lowered its head, all sense of curiosity lost on it as it began to sniff for food in a bush.
She watched the deer, taking some comfort in how calm it seemed to be, though that calm lasted only moments as a wolf, a wolf far too large, and eyes to human pounced upon the deer tearing at its neck out.
The dagger in her hand suddenly spring from her hand landing clear in the wolf’s neck.
Blood trickling down its neck, the wolf made no effort to move or continue its feats on the deer.
It simply looked at her, and she could have sworn a look of relief flooded its features.
She jumped down from the tree, her ankle rolling as she did so.
But her mind was to occupied in reaching for one of her knifes and landed a killing blow directly into the wolf’s heart, and then another into the deer’s.
Tears feel from her eyes as she looked over the deer and wolf, realisation at what she ha done, and how it felt far to easy despite her earlier trepidation.
She felt a hand on her shoulder, a gentle touch she knew belonged to Feyre.
“Daphne” she mumbled, “are you okay?”
She simply nodded, as she always did, and reached to pull the daggers from the animals’ chests.
“did you do this?” Feyre asked, taking in the giant wolf.
Daphne nodded before pointing to the tree and twisting the dagger in her hand, answering the unsaid question of how.
Concern flooded Feyre’s features as she assessed the state of her youngest sister, and the tears that filled her eyes, despite the clear effort the rest of her face was making to remain calm.
“Why were you out here?” Feyre continued to question; despite knowing she wouldn’t get a response.
Daphne looked down shame flooding her. Thoughts of not being good enough, of always being in the wrong even when she was trying to help. For somehow messing up what would be an otherwise successful hunt.
Tears dropped from her eyes once more. She hadn’t moved since Feyre approached her. Still sat in the same position as before as Feyre continued to ask questions.
She watched as Feyre bound the doe’s legs and skinned the wolf.
She watched as Feyre handed her the fur and threw the doe over her own shoulders. And watched as Feyre sent her a glance with every cough falling from Daphne’s mouth, seeing her concerned glances and small shakes of her head.
Her breaths were heavy, the cold air affecting her already weak lungs, and her steps were slow as they finally approached there home.
Their small little hovel with two rooms for the five of them, was always crowded and despite the two singular windows the entire house had there was always a chilled draft.
The chill of the outside was not much colder than that of inside the hovel.
A lack of fire beings it’s cause, and single log left inside the fire place despite freye asking nesta too cut more wood.
She was greeted quickly by Elain wrapping a blanket around her shoulders.
Elaine and her were the closest of the sisters, with the same interests and similar personalities the two rarely argued. Though for daphne, arguments usual consisted of her being lectured and daphne storming out in response.
The sisters argued as they lectured feyre on the wolf and Daphne’s involvement in the hunt.
Elain sat rubbing Daphne’s shoulders gently to warm her up, and handing her a hot mug of tea to soothe her throat.
The sisters always seemed to argue, whether it be about money or food or any little thing. But what they argued most was daphne.
Shocking seeing as both Nesta and Feyre seemed to only tolerate her and ignored her unless she was extremely sick.
Elain too, despite being the closest of the sisters, found herself ignoring daphne more so than late, and spent more and more time with Nesta.
It was a funny thing really, seeing as they always fretted over her, treating her little more than a child.
But everything she did caused an argument. Such as going hunting with Feyre, getting more sick form hunting with feyre, from Elain allowing her to help her garden, or Nesta asking her to sew her some new clothes form the scraps of the old worn-out ones.
Everything one of them did for her, caused an argument with another.
Daphne was their sickly younger sister. That’s all she was and even when she tried to help it caused an argument.
Words were always said in front of her and rarely to her.
She couldn’t help but think that if she could talk, something she begged daily to be able to, that they wouldnt ignore her so much.
But they seemed to treat her mutism as self imposed, as if it didn’t pain daphne that she physically couldn’t. that the idea of speaking scared her and the few words she could ralrey speak pained her so and caused her to to be physically sick.
She hated not being able to communicate but her sisters seemed to think it was entirely her fault that she didn’t.
Elain at least put up with it, finding her a good ear for listening to her endless rants. Or a helpful hand when cooking and gardening.
But they still didn’t ask her questions unless it was in the form of an interrogation. Such as Feyre in the woods.
She had given up years ago when she realised no matter how hard her eyes portrayed her feelings, her sisters where happy to talk and laugh and argue without so much as sparing her a glance.
They hadn’t even bothered to teach her to read. They knew she couldn’t. she hadn’t even started her schooling when they lost their fortune, and yet it never occurred to them that teaching her to read could solve the communication issue.
She had thought that perhaps if she proved herself, her potential that they would bother. Though deep down she knew it wouldn’t change a thing.
But known the less she went into the woods, to prove herself, to show she wasn’t just sick, that she had willpower, ability. But not only to prove herself but to also thank them. she felt bad for all the money spent on you, all the times she had been bed bound, unable to help at all and leaving them to sleep on the floor as moving her was to risky.
But it all failed.
All it caused was arguing and Feyre sending you a worrying glance as she looked over the wolf. And the fear of it being fae and what they might mean for there family.
Days passed, and daphne grew sick again. With her lungs constricted, her head feverish and limb aching. She had been in and out of consciousness for days now. The days passed in a blur, the only moments she truly came to were when medicine was forced down her throat or a new towel was pressed to her head.
She was sure she would have stayed in the bed for weeks had the front door not been slammed open and a roar sounded through the hovel.
Weakly she walked out of the shared bedroom and came face to face with some sort of fae beast growling words at her sisters, her sisters spoke to quietly for her to hear but before she knew it feyre was leaving with the beast and her screams for her to stay refusing to leave her mouth. She was powerless to stop it, to weak to even move from the door frame let alone stop her sister form being kidnapped by the fae beast. And even if she could it seemed that as the door closed a haze a magic was sent out and the sudden scene of a so-called aunt Ripley sending for Feyre to help her in her sickness appeared in her brain. Had she not fainted after it happened, she was sure she would have believed it, but dreams of a growling beats taking Feyre away haunted her dreams.
As the months passed , Elain and their father seemed content to believe the glamour the fae had cast and the seeming coincidence of regaining there fortune, neither Daphne or Nesta believed it.
She hated this new life, the life without Feyre. And the seemingly picture-perfect front her family created.
Her life became filled with tutors and healers and the balls filled with preening men all ever for a quite wife they never have to speak to.
Her life seemed duller than it did, and even more lonely.
Her sisters now ignored her completely, her father was no to busy for he. With Her sisters spending more time doing their own thing, with Nesta always alone and refusing to speak to anyone. Elain found herself engaged to a future lord, a man you had grown to hate despite only meeting him three times.
And daphne found herself quiet the scholar, egar to learn, and found herself drawn more and more to the history of Pythian, of the war and the fae courts.
A year passed since Feyre was taken and though she had returned for a week before swiftly leaving again, it felt like everything had changed since she left.
she felt as if she was on the side lines looking in on her family.
Even more so after their father had left to go to the continent.
Elain had grown distant, only wishing to spend time with her when it came to her garden.
And Nesta had secluded herself in her room, refusing company from all.
Daphne was forced to chaperone her sister and watch her life become what elain always wished.
Perhaps it was selfish to wish for attention, or at least the same level as she received in the past.
But now it seemed the better she got the less attention she received. She now got the level of freedom she had long desired and yet it seemed a waste without her sisters there to experience it with her.
But at least she now had the opportunity to have friends. Or at least friends in the form of Leon, one of the footmen in her family’s employ.
He had been kind since the moment she meet him, egar to spend time with her.
And though at first it was simply kind smiles facial expressions to communicate, he slowly taught her sign language. Having grown up with a sister who was hearing impaired, it allowed him the chance to talk to her. And for the first time she felt heard.
He was a small comfort in her dull life.
Suddenly it was march, time passed in the blink of an eye.
Something had shifted in the last few months; the estate grew quieter, and the trees seemed to murmur.
The sky felt greyer and snow colder.
The wall felt thin, with more cracks than ever, fog creeped from it and a sense of danger, ‘more so than before was emoting from it.
She had started to take walks near the wall daily. A sense of need to be close to Feyre overcame her. She wasn’t sure why, she never saw anyone near the wall.
That was until she stumbled into him.
Possibly the most handsome person you had ever seen. His eyes caught yours and they seemed to enchant her, the striking hazel colour distracting you from the obvious giant bat like wings sprouting from his back. But she didn’t mind, his eyes were beautiful…he was beautiful perhaps the most beautiful creature ever.
And his hands were on her waist.
Holding her after she stumble into him.
her waist.
“Are you okay?” he spoke softly, his yes tracing over her. He seemed to look at her with a sense of family. Though she was sure she had never once seen him before.
she nodded her head, her eyes looking down to were he still held her waste.
“your Daphne right?” he asked carefully.
Daphne looked up startled, shocked that he knew her name, and started racking her mind for memories of his face.
“i-“ the words, sounding more like a gasp left her mouth, as she willed yourself to speak.
And she might of mustered up a few words had Feyre not suddenly appeared.
“Daphne?” she breathed. Looking her up and down, “what are you doing this close to the wall?”
The males hands left her waist as he moved aside and allowed Feyre to hug her.
she hugged her back, but her face was perplexed as she took her in. she was different.
She seemed to glow, and her skin was soft and clear. Far more so than ever before and her ears… they were pointed.
She was fae.
Confusion adorned her face and a worried smile filled hers.
“don’t be scared” she seemed to beg.
she shook your head, moving to hug her once more.
she tired to talk, to ask her if she was okay, to ask her what had happened but the her mouth filled with bile, and the words seemed to leave her mind the more she tried to speak.
She seemed relived at the hug, moving her hand to stroke her hair, “you look well.” She spoke, as she took in her rosy cheeks and more filled out figure.
Daphne nodded. Her attention still fully on Feyre and confusion in her eyes as she tried to figure out what happened to her.
“I know you must be confused, and ill explain once were at the estate but-“ she was cut of by the sudden appearance of two more fae males.
Both with the same wings as the male she had bumped into.
“Daphne… this is Cassian and Rhysand” she said pointing to the two males, before turning “and the male Daphne bumped into, that’s Azriel” she spoke looking at her carefully as the two males introduced themselves and shook her hand.
A small nervous smile toyed on Daphne’s mouth.
she looked to Azriel, taking him in and reaching her hand out to shake his, as the others had done to her.
He seemed shocked at the action, his hands moving slowly to take hers.
As if he was scared to touch her, scared that they would taint her somehow.
They were rough, more so than the others, and covered in scars.
But her eyes didn’t linger, nor did she flinch as she was sure he expected her too. Instead she shook it and smiled. Her cheeks filling with a light blush as he focused her attention on her.
She turned to face her sister, the blush still prominent on her face and her minding releasing at how handsome Azriel, well how all the males seemed but more so him.
And the male she knew as Rhysand seemed to smirk as he looked at her, as if he could read the very thoughts she was thinking in her head.
She hugged slightly at the smirk, a nervous feeling washing over her as she took in the three strangers and the sudden change to Feyres appearance.
She pointed towards the direction of the estate, focusing her gaze on feyre as she did so.
“Should we get going then?” Feyre questioned, seemingly to sense her sisters nerves.
The walk was slow, the faes content to walk at a leisurely pace, though daphne was sure it had something to do with her and the coughs her small body was emitting.
By the time they reached the estate, feyre seemed to have grown nervous, her hand gripping daphne’s and her palm growing sweaty.
Daphne rubbed her hand in comfort though it seemed to do little as Feyre pulled her back hastily the estate came into view.
“Can you clear out the staff?” she questioned “they can’t see us, it will cause to many issues”
She nodded, giving feyre a hug before she departed.
She was grateful Leon was working that day, he took her at her word when she signed his and the others need to leave.
The once lively state was now empty bar the four sisters and three fae males.
She received harsh glares from nesta at their unwelcome guest.
And as words were spoken, and feyre spoke of the need to use the house as a meeting point, the glares grew harsher. As if whatever impending conflict was Daphne’s fault.
Dinner was no better, harsh words and arguments between the sisters sounded. Even more so when Daphne had run to get stools for the two winged males.
She was silent, as always.
But somehow sitting next to Azriel filled her with confidence she hadn’t ever had.
“Can you really fly?” she whispered, her voice rough from years of not being used.
And though her sisters gasped and nesta sent her another glare. Azriel simply smiled and spoke “yes. Cassian and I hail from a race of faeries called Illyrians. We’re born hearing the song of the wind”
Daphne smiled, her mouth speaking before she could even process that she had talked “that’s very beautiful” she said “ I have always wondered what it would be like to fly” she mused, “is it ever scary?” she spoke making eye contact with Feyre who gave her an encouraging smile, though her eyes were still shocked at your words.
It was probably the most words she had ever said, as even before she stopped talking, she was never a chatty child.
“sometimes” Azriel said, with Cassian nodding in agreement, as Azriel continued “if you are caught in a storm, if the current drops. But we are trained so thoroughly that the fear is gone before were out of swaddling”
Daphne nodded, her mouth filling with bile and a stuttered almost gasp left her mouth in the stead of words.
She swallowed roughly, her face flushing as she realised everyone’s attention was on her.
And then it struck her, she had spoken.
In the past it had never been more than one word, and it was always mumbled and nearly in audible, and often followed quickly with vomiting.
She willed herself to not vomit, but as Nesta went to say something, she was sure would be aimed at her sudden ability to speak.
She rose and ran to the bathroom and let it all out.
She cried and cried afterwards, in shock and shame.
It was how it always happened, the shame she felt afterwards, as if she wasn’t allowed to speak, as if speaking would cause something bad to happen. And it was a feeling that followed her for the remainder of her sister visit.
And even after they had all left it didn’t go away.
It seemed to haunt her, even more so after she got sick once more.
But this time it was different.
She had been bed bound for months on end.
Memories were all in a haze and she couldn’t tell night from day.
she hadn’t woken in days and yet the next time she woke, she was being tugged out of a cauldron full of freezing water.

Finding yourself at the schools Friday night football game was NOT on your agenda, but you couldn’t help it. You felt drawn in and one of your newer friends BEGGED you to go with her so you did, reluctantly. The stands were PACKED with parents, siblings and other family members along with almost ALL of your classmates. Had football really been THIS popular?
you gave a low groan as you ducked and weaved through the crowd, trying not to get hit or bumped into. It wasn’t working out very well. Small sorry’s left your mouth as you finally wormed your way into your seat next to Julie, who was already teeming with energy.
“ i’m so excited. Monrovia has ALWAYS been a tougher team to beat, hopefully this year with Wally we can beat them. ”
At the mention of his name you tensed, you hadn’t seen or talked to him in what seemed like months (more so a week or two). A part of you, deep down ached for him, while the other part tried to keep you reasoned that he was the one that ended everything, he wanted nothing to do with you. And yet…somehow it felt like he still wanted you. None of the athletics (cheerleaders and football players) even stopped to say anything to you, or tease you about something so small. They just went on their merry way. Had he said something to them?
“ uh hello? Did you hear me? Wally’s looking at you! "
a small shake to your shoulders finally snapped you from your thoughts as your eyes moved to finally make eye contact with said football player. He was finally on the field after their introduction and was staring right at you from his huddle with his team. Once the both of you made eye contact he quickly looked away and popped his helmet on.
you shook your head, blinking yourself back to reality. What was his deal? The buzzers from the score board sounded, commencing the start of the first quarter of the game. The crowd around you buzzed to life in cheers as the boys got into formation after the coin toss, cementing that Monrovia would be starting with the ball. The first kick off was a strong one, sending the ball soaring to the back of the split river formation.
and like that the game set off into a very close, neck to neck game. One team would score and then the other would quickly swoop in and tie with their own touchdown. Everyone around you was on edge, Julie was screaming chants with the student section, making fun of the team and the other student section. You just sat quiet and cheered quietly when your team would score, trying not to burn in embarrassment. But slowly got into the energy of it all, starting to cheer in the last quarter of the game.
within the last few seconds of the game you shot up from your seat, cupping your hands around your mouth as you shouted.
“ GET THAT BALL TO THE END ZONE, WALLY! ”
His attention turned to you for only a second before something inside him amped up, making him sprint and dodge around the other team a bit faster. within the last second his feet finally landed in the end zone, signifying that they had scored the winning points and FINALLY got their hands on the win over Monrovia after years of losing. Loud screams and cheers erupted from the stands around you, the band immediately kicked in with their anthem as the team on the field flocked the quarter back in the end zone.
loud whoops and chants sounded from the boys as they hopped and shook with Wally in their arms, the other team standing dejectedly to the side, feeling the stab of loss from years of winning. You cheered loudly with your classmates, laughing happily as your friend latched onto you.
“ its like he HEARD you! You’re a fucking lucky charm! ”
she squealed happily and shook you, excitement bubbling from her as she darted off to some of her other friends to talk to them. Your attention finally turned back to the football team, seeing the ever happy Wally grinning and congratulating his teammates. His eyes then turned to you, a smirk playing at his lips as he sent you a wink. Butterflies seemed to spring from nowhere in your stomach at the motion, turning to look and see if he was sending it to anyone else, but no one else was paying any attention to the team. You looked back at him again and watched him mouth “stay after”, seeming to mean after the stadium cleared out.
After about an hour of waiting, almost everyone was cleared out of the stadium, lights beginning to shut off. You slowly started to lose hope he’d actually come talk to you, or even if he was still there. You carefully tossed your hood up as it started to drizzle, then pour. You sighed and turned, starting to walk toward the gates when a loud whistle echoed from the dressing rooms. Your head snapped to the source, seeing Wally walk out of the building. He was in his after game attire, hair in messy curls atop his head from the sweat and rain finally hitting his head.
you paused and crossed your arms, trying to keep up your “i hate you” mindset. But seeing him there after weeks made your knees feel like jello. What the fuck was going on in your head?! You tilted your head and watched as he got closer, making you step back
“ didn’t think you’d come to a game. But then i saw you in the stands, dressed in the schools colors with MY number of all numbers painted on your cheek. ”
you scoffed as he finally stopped before you, rolling your eyes as you looked away from him. She painted his number on your cheek? Did she know about you two hooking up or was this one of her dumb “he’s cute” things.
“ yeah, i didn’t paint this on, Julie did. Like hell id risk getting made fun of just to wear your number, Clark. "
He hissed in fake pain as you snapped at him, scrunching his face a bit to add to it. He chuckled and without a word tugged you close but your waist. You gasped in surprise as your chest collided with his, feeling the clothing start to get soaked from the heavy rain. What the hell was he doing?
“ you should wear it more often. Fuck all the time actually. Look..i was a fucking dumbass for pushing you away. Not being able to be near you drove me mad and made me realize some shit that i didn’t want to face. ”
your eyes widened as you realized he was about to confess his feelings. Were you even ready for that? Before he could even say another word you pushed yourself up and kissed him roughly, cupping the back of his head as you tried to keep him from saying anything. A small grunt sounded from the other as he immediately held onto your waist, keeping you close to his body.
the kiss started heated and just continued to stay that way, tongues meshing together in the middle as hands wondered each others bodys. And with hands wandering, came clothes starting to be removed. Were you about to fuck on the football field? You couldn’t really care less, you just needed him now. Moving yourself down onto the soaking grass, you felt him moved between your legs and carefully slip a hand between the two of you.
a small gasp leaves your mouth as he rubs at your clit for a moment, letting you get adjusted and wet enough for him to slip his fingers into your soaking center. Your eyes rolled back a bit from the stretch of his long fingers. Thank fuck for this lanky man, being blessed EVERYWHERE. small moans slipped from your lips as he pumped and curled his fingers in and out of you. Getting you nice and stretched was something he’s never done so it was a nice little change, it made your heart flutter in an odd way?
after a few minutes of prepping you he pulled his fingers out and used whatever wetness he had to lube himself just enough to carefully slip into your awaiting cunt, his eyes rolling back at the hug of your walls. Another gasp came from your throat as he slid inside of you, your hands clambering to grip onto his back to have some sort of tether to earth. He grunted and held still for a second, kissing along your neck and throat, arms winding around your middle to keep you close to him.
As much as your mind was SCREAMING at you to get the hell off the ground, you felt like you were in heaven. Especially when he started to finally fuck his cock in and out of your hot cunt. Moans and groans intertwined from the two of you as you fucked on the football field, rain poured around the two of you, drowning out your sounds so only the two of you could hear. You made an attempt to open your eyes, only to be met with Wally already looking at you. You whimpered softly and drew your eyebrows together, keeping eye contact as you moaned louder. Watching his face morph with pleasure at your sounds, feeling his cock twitch deep inside of you.
He carefully reached between the two of you, rubbing at your clit as he continued to pound into you. The knot in your stomach starting to tighten, feeling it start to verge on snapping. Your eyes rolled back a bit as it all began to be too much for you to even handle.
“ thats it baby, cum for me. Fuck, please cum. ”
he groaned out and placed his forehead to yours, feeling himself near his end as well. With a few final snaps into you, he was releasing everything he had into your awaiting cunt. And once you felt his load fill you, you threw your head back into the ground and cried out as you came not to far behind him. He kept his hips rocking, just to ride out your highs before slowly pulling out of you. He pushed himself up a bit and panted, looking at the absolute mess you were below him making him give a breathy chuckle.
“ we should probably hit the showers, babe. Were an absolute mess. ”
you slowly nodded your head, the after sex high still buzzing in your brain. You let him do what he needed, meaning letting him carry your naked form into the locker rooms to wash the both of you off. It was absolute silence as you stood under the water, somehow more awkward than the times before. Was it because of what he was going to say?
after washing off, you held the towel you were offered tight to your body. Finally registering that your clothes were out on the field still, ruined by the rain and the mud. But it was like Wally read your mind, carefully pulling out some extra clothes he had stuff away in his locker. You tugged on the sweat pants and the hoodie he offered you, humming softly at the warmth of them. He tugged on his own pair of sweats and a tank top, slowly turning to you as he shrugged on his letterman.
“ look…i..fuck. Okay so..i really like you. And i know saying that doesn’t really make up for how i treated you, but it just happened. I realized it when we fucked in the supply closet. And i understand if you don’t feel the same, i just really wanted to tell you. ”
you threw your hand up and covered his mouth to keep him from sputtering on anymore than he was, watching his cheeks and ears go red from embarrassment. You gave a soft giggle as you stared up at him, tilting your head a bit.
“ i like you too dumbass. As much as i hate that i fell for you, i did. ”
he visibly relaxed and moved your hand, tugging you closer as he carefully kissed you. This time keeping it gentle, full of passion. You could really get used to this sweet side Wally had hid away.
