Have to admit I only started watching Fire Country today when I heard the announcement about Jared joining for a short stint, and being a sucker for shows about fire fighters and family/found family dynamics, I'm already hooked a few episodes in.

So, while Jared was the main draw, I'm glad to add this show to my fire fighters collection, as I find the premise different and initially more interesting than the norm. People should give it a try.

(as an aside, Jared is going to make one cool sexy fireman)

(as another aside Billy Burke seems to be making a career out of playing fire fighters recently lol)

I cannot tell you how much I love hearing that, anon.

I only started watching Fire Country earlier this year at the recommendation of a friend and I am so very glad I did. I love the characters, the family dynamics, the firefighting whump, and the drama of it all is just *chef's kiss* Perfection

I'm happy that Jared's casting will bring more people to the show (hopefully) and I hope that everyone who jumps in for his sake gives the show a fair shake like you did.

And yes, Jared will make a very, very nice fireman.

(fun fact: I talked a friend into watching Fire Country with me and they freaked out at Billy Burke because they're a huge Twilight fan)

My big question at this point is if they do give Jared's character his own show, what are they gonna call it? Given Fire Country and Sheriff Country, this franchise (or the Country 'verse as I am tentatively calling it) has a certain Theme going and I wonder how far they can really take that.

BAC: SECOND VIEWING NOTES!

Yeah i went again on sunday and really wanted to cry after because it's over forever Q_Q i am inconsolable but for the fact that there may be a halloween party... but uhhhhhhh anyway here's what I noticed this time!!

Ad libs:

Final show energy & lots of ad libs! Which were apparently real unscripted ad libs!! A lot of them were just little things (so I can't recount most of them) but they were very very good. the blorbos became real people for a second there

When Rich is looking for Mountain Dew Red at the party, Jenna appears and says "I have Mountain Dew Blue?" and he explodes at her (possibly "Not now, Jenna!")

When Christine and Jeremy talk together at the party, they're sitting on beanbags; after they get scared off by the skeleton guy, they're laughing and crawling back to their seats - Christine, through laughter: "oh where's the beanbag...."

Changes (?)

VIMH: Rich: "The ladies are gonna get to know the real Richard Goranski... And the dudes." Then he stares into the distance for like 30 seconds (a very long time), making calculating gestures in the air (like the woman with math meme) before going "Oh. My god............... I am totally bi!"

Maybe wrong, but I swear there was a wind part added to the middle of Michael in the Bathroom??? I thought it might be a flute or digital flute..... but as a flautist I might be projecting.....

The Play: Multiple thin green lights flickered down on people as they got squipped, with a cute video game chime sound. But fairly certain this was always there and I just noticed it this time lmao

Smartphone Hour: Background acting on the little platform at the very back of the stage: a scooby-doo esque chase sequence where a firefighter rushes on from SR and disappears SL (implied Jake's house is SL); the fireman reappears with Jake in his arms and runs back SR to safety. Then Jake runs back across to get something from his house and the fireman is trying to stop him. Then Jake runs back out of the house holding a teddy bear he saved from the fire; the fireman is chasing him back out of the house. It was fucking hilarious 10/10 especially because I couldn't be sure if it was a new addition or if I just completely filtered it out last time like a basketball gorilla dslfjdslfk

Also on Jake: between the teddy bear and the Upgrade scene (also detailed by Dani) where he's talking about archery while holding a plush duck - unsure dramaturgically if it's supposed to be a real dead duck or a toy, but anyway.... Jake who likes stuffies??? IDK if I buy it but I don't know enough about Jake to NOT buy it and its also a very fun headcanon I think so it's going on the pile for me. he can collect plushies with jeremy as far as im concerned dsljfsdkfjs

Oh yeah Jeremy also had a big white duck plush on his bed. edit: this is actually a seagull plush! Its name is Katie and it belongs to stage crew member Anya!

More details I saw this time

General

Christine actor was actually amazing she has this giggly honk voice she uses when being like obnoxiously loud and silly and idk how to describe it but such intense LOUD SILLYGIRL ENERGY. A little different than the chris im used to and it was fun to see another version of her!!

Maybe I'm insane but I think Christine also pronounced Jeremy kinda like 2 syllables (Jare - me). This extremely slight difference somehow led to me perceiving her singing "Is he worth it? Germyyyyyyy!" IDK Sorry Jaclyn if you are reading this ldksfjdlsk

Lots of times when Jeremy is talking about becoming cool he does little hip gyrations (think Rich at the urinal i guess but more subtle)

Jeremy does this thing where he holds his hand bent stiff with his fingers all together and taps hard on his right temple to express some kind of frustration with the SQUIP- e.g. when he's trying to get the SQUIP to turn on after the first day; during the end of the Halloween party, etc. Actually it very much has the same conceptual energy as "C'c'c'come on....." now that I think about it

Michael blows a cloud of smoke during a few of his entrances (MTS and maybe Halloween - or that was Dustin maybe)

He also uses a vape pen I think? When he says 'we gotta get stoned in my basement'

Preshow montage

Before the show, there's a montage of screenshots from the teens' lives on the back wall --- that is, their selfies and their text convos. Pretty sure the texts were that gossip submitted by fans? I only remember two:

"i heard that guy who wears hoodies all the time only listens to weezer" <- (I only noticed this one 'cause it KILLED ME honestly I feel like Jeremy would love Weezer and Michael would hate it sdjkfljdsf ) edit: this text was submitted by @/thesquirrelqueer!

I don't remember who was on which side, but Brooke or Chloe sending Chloe or Brooke a big comforting text after her breakup and making plans to go get ice cream I think?

"Dad haven't you ever heard of privacy?" He says this while putting on his belt after the opening.

Jeremy's actually gesturing towards his locker for like the entire conversation between Brooke, Chloe, Jenna; when they notice him finally it kinda looks like he's just pointing at them and that's part of why they think he's weird I think?

M: "Humanity has stopped evolving!" Jeremy then takes like 20 seconds of looking confused before going (approximately) "is that supposed to be good...?"

"Christiiiiiine Canigula!" Each Christine section he eventually (around 3rd time) starts using this fanboy totally-losing-his-mind-over-this voice which is REALLY hard to describe but i'll try: like lower & less articulate, like how it sounds when you raise your soft palate (?), and going up at the end kind of laugh-like like he's really excited. (For a bmc reference maybe sounds a little like will roland's tone in i even got some blood flowing / with no computer screen around). Anyway i'm not gonna lie it did make him sound really lame jsdlkfjdsf

"Why can't someone just help me out?" As Jeremy sings this bridge it's all dark except for a light on him. Students line up chairs behind him and sit down. At this line, two guys walk forwards on either side and touch his shoulders (looking kind of solemn / sympathetic) , and guide him back to sit in the chair in the middle. Then the lights come up on everyone and more group choreo wheeee

Post-ILPR MTS reprise

Christine: "Sorry, Jeremy, did you say something?" -> after this scene, she runs off giggling loudly, apparently glad to not be interrupted and VERY visibly excited about Jake asking her out

Jeremy sings "I don't wanna be special / Don't even want to survive...." (Instead of usual "Don't even need to survive.") Not sure if it was intentional but it happened at both shows I saw and made me sad both times noooooo........... guy...........

Rich actually rubs his hands all over Jeremy's face (in addition to his arms)

On their relationship in general, I think Michael irritates Jeremy more than fanon typically has it lol. Very excitable Michael who kinda lacks volume control (in several scenes - including VIMH even after Jeremy tells him to be quieter). Constructive interference of autism etc etc

(Again fun to see this!! as a jeremy stan i am definitely guilty of making michael a godlike perfect friend to jeremy and like.. no... they don't actually mesh that well even just in the script!! Often times Jeremy doesn't understand or care about the things Michael says. So yeah absorbing this into my headcanons now thank you)

Also back wall was this like vaporwave looking low-poly 2 person first person shooter game footage (think wolfenstein but with a very different aesthetic - purple and blue, and i think with some objects depicted in mesh).

BMC P1

When Jeremy's spasming on the ground (last time I thought he looked mostly in pain - this time he was vibrating a bit more like he lost muscle control) - local build-a-bear employee Jared Kleinman (JARED KLEINMAN...) and some other people start filming him.

Jared keeps filming him through the scene until SQUIP: "All they see is you having an animated conversation... with yourself." Jeremy turns and notices him; Jared doesn't stop filming but just waves at him nonchalantly (in a mocking way like hey buddy welcome back to reality)

Jared also has a BaB apron and BaB backpack on (or a bear sticking out of his backpack i dont remember). Pretty sure he also had a bear with him in another scene, probably Halloween?

"Lookin pretty sexy, brooke" -- says it in like a low Elvisy voice (like will connolly)

BMC P2

"Everything about you is going to be wonderful" -- Jeremy rolls up his cardigan sleeves so they're just below the elbow. (One of them slipped back down and he put it up again but I didnt think it was intentional lol). I was surprised how much instantly cooler that made him look but maybe that's just because my older brother wears his sleeves like that ljdsfkdsfklsfdlk

......also note that MICHAEL usually wears his sleeves rolled up like that in this production.... inch resting.....

MTS reprise

When the lights first come up, Jeremy is snoring with his head hanging off the side of the bed. He stops breathing for a second, then jerks awake.

Chris: "I know you and Jake used to date...." Chloe and Brooke simultaneously go "Oh my god, no!!!" --- Chloe to Christine (mockingly), meanwhile Brooke is unrelatedly browsing her phone and says it in distress because she (implied) has just seen that Eminem died. As convo continues, Brooke sits next to another student (Leo Collins?) and shows them the article. (She still says 'yeah jake is so gross' to Chloe, just sounding upset)

Upgrade

I ALREADY SAID THIS BUT JEREMY AND BROOKE WERE SO CUTE TOGETHER JLKSDFLDFSJ. I decided to only watch them during this song (/ _ \) Based on their acting when they walked near the stage stairs, they had climbed to the back of the bleachers and were walking precariously on the outside of the railing - specifically, they went over the stair railings - first Brooke and she teeters a bit and jokingly pretends like she's gonna fall off; Jeremy goes under the rail, comes up on the other side and does a gesture like *tada!*. Then they sit down together and are talking and its just really cute. making me ship puppy love over here jdsifojdslkfdjsflk

Halloween

Michael was at the dance in costume - during a certain point (I think right before Rich starts losing it) Michael gets lost out of the group choreo, seems to be stressed out and runs off stage (presumably to the bathroom)

One of the guys is dressed up like Guy Fieri and it's really good. Like I remember last time I even had a moment where I realized I was interpreting this actor as playing The Real Guy Fieri At Jake's Halloween Party. Also in MITB he uses his hat (which is a combo of visor and fake hair) to knock on the door.

DYWH

Chloe: "...rock this baby fast asleep" then, laughing: "Goo goo ga ga!!" and she kinda topples onto him. The actress said she got this from the West End production!

When Jeremy says "I can't stand up." It was kind of implied it's because he has an erection not because his legs are frozen; right before this line he stands up then sits down and puts a pillow in his lap. Either way though ig it was still the SQUIP stopping him (S: "you're welcome.")

GTIKBI reprise

as Dani pointed out, Christine was sitting kinda numbly on the beanbag with headphones on; she takes them off when Jeremy starts talking to her.

Re: expensive headphones - Michael's rubbing Rich's shoulders (???) when he says "I'm sure someone would be lucky to have you" (and then of course he still says but not meeeee while sending him flying)

Stagedorks kiss: after C says yes, they walk to the center of the stage. Jeremy rushes forwards and puts his hands on her cheeks (i think?) to pull her into a kiss. They separate, beat, then Christine goes forwards again and they have a long slow kiss while the ensemble keeps dancing and singing around them.

Not intentional i dont think but Patrick the Jeremy actor was crying a bit at the end /( T_ T \ )

OK YEAH i might add more to this if I remember and/or edit it back into the first post...... but hope that was fun to read????

Ha, yeah. I think it depends on which ages of Jared and JDM we're talking about? Jared was still kinda a stringbean on GG, and JDM was thick(ish) in Grey's. So I think it would be possible but difficult, especially if dad's dead weight. Positions matter: fireman carry/piggyback easier than bridal.

I am now thinking about a front/koala carry for them 🥺. Sam's hands under John's thighs, John's flushed face tucked in Sammy's neck...

Dean would be so jealous lol.

You got the rundown of the situation, found the locker with your first initial and last name on it, and stuffed your bag into it before you heard someone huff behind you.

“Wha-” You spun and found yourself face to face with four guys, a little older than you.

“Oh, don’t mind us.” One of them smirked and raked his eyes up and down your body. “We’re just,” he licked his lips and finally met your eyes again, “lookin’ around.”

You shuddered under his gaze and stepped back. “I’m, uh - I’m gonna go find Jensen.”

He caged you in, leaning his arms against the locker beside yours. “I think you should spend some time with us other first-dayers.”

“I - I’m good.” You forced a tight smile and attempted to push past him. “Thanks.” Your opportunity to side-step him was lost as he blocked you in, stepping into your path.

“I said, you’re going to spend some time with us.” He reached up and pushed you back against the lockers, your back bouncing off of them with a shaky metallic clang. His hand moved from your shoulder where he’d shoved you, across your collarbone. His hand stretched until the space between his thumb and index finger was big enough to wrap around your neck.

Before he could close his fingers around your throat, you screamed.

“Son of a bitch.” He clamped his hand over your mouth instead, muffling the sound falling from your lips.

But not before Jared heard it. He was sitting in the lounge, feet kicked up onto the coffee table in front of the black leather couch. When he heard your screech, he straightened up, then sprang from his seat when he caught the way it became almost instantly muffled. Jared darted for the kitchen first, where there were the most outside doors, the most room for access for an intruder, but the kitchen was empty, save for the head of the women’s auxiliary committee cooking for the upcoming bingo night.

He painted on a smile in her direction and flew out of the room. Jared ran into the locker room and saw them, a group of four out of the other six first-dayers surrounding you in a semicircle.

“Back up.” His voice boomed, echoing off of the lockers and empty walls. Their heads turned, whipping around as Jared came closer, towering over most of them. “I said back up.” He seethed, jaw clenched around his words.

The man who seemed to lead the newbie “pack,” whose name you’d later find out was Cory, withdrew his hand, allowing you to gasp in a breath. Tears filled your eyes and you clamped them shut before disappearing into one of the lockable changing stalls. The doors weren’t solid from floor to ceiling, so you could hear every word Jared was saying.

“Don’t ever let me catch any of you near her like this again.” He poked his finger into Cory’s chest. “You hear me?” Cory nodded dumbly, unsure of what he could even say to alleviate the tension. “If I find out any of you touch her, unless you’re doing man-to-man training, you’ll be reported and immediately suspended from the program. Do you understand?” Cory nodded again, and the others mirrored the movement. “Get your bags and get out of here. Consider this the end of your first day.”

After they scurried to collect their things and leave, Jared knocked with a single knuckle on the thin wooden door to the changing room. “Hey, you still in there or did you manage to sneak away while I was kickin’ their asses?” He teased.

You slowly cracked the door and peeked out, making sure it was just him in the room with you. “Thank you.” You spoke softly, unable to look at him. “I can’t believe they-”

“Don’t worry about it. They won’t be bothering you again. And if they do, you come to me.” He pulled the door the rest of the way open and ushered you out, then held the door as you walked back into the lounge with him following close behind. Jared pulled out a chair for you around the huge wooden table in the center of the room, then sat beside you. “You okay?”

You nodded, but Jared raised a brow and you quickly switched to shaking your head. “I don’t want to deal with that for the rest of training.”

“I don’t blame you.” Jared nodded in agreement. “But trust me, you won’t have to deal with it. As soon as I tell Jensen-”

“No!” You reached out and grabbed Jared’s forearm. “No, no, you can’t tell Jensen.”

Jared looked down, seeing your knuckles white with how tightly you were holding onto him. “Why wouldn’t I tell Jensen? He’s the one working with you every day. He’s the one who will see them around you and know if something’s up. He should know.”

“Please don’t tell him.” You pleaded, releasing Jared’s arm. “I don’t want him to think I’m - I can’t stand up for myself and I needed you to swoop in and save me.”

Jared smirked. “To be fair, I did kind of come in like a knight in shining armor.”

With a roll of your eyes, you shoved away from him. “Shut the hell up.”

Jared chuckled, but quickly turned serious. “Jensen should know.” He repeated. “He’s going to be in the field with all of you. He can keep you safe.”

You furrowed your brows. “I don’t need him to keep me safe. I can handle them if they start their shit again. I just - they just caught me off guard in there.”

“They’re lucky you weren’t in the middle of changing or something. I would’ve had them suspended on the spot if you were any kind of indecent in there.” Jared patted your knee and offered you a warm smile. “I’m gonna go see if Janice needs any help in the kitchen, but you just stay in here and take it easy, okay? For as long as you need.”

“Thank you.” You looked up at him as he stood, and he just brushed off the thanks. “No, Jared.” You reached out and caught his wrist in your hand. “Thank you.” You didn’t need to say it, he knew he’d done more than you were letting on.

Jared flipped his wrist and captured your hand, squeezing it gently. “Whatever you need, you just let me know.” He smiled and tightened his grasp on your hand again before letting go and walking into the kitchen.

You spent the better part of your first week riding in the front of the ambulance with Jensen when calls came in. Nothing too serious, just the lower-profile, embarrassing cases that would never see the front page of even a local paper. When you were back at the station, the two of you hung around Jared, mostly, but the other fire guys flitted in and out of the conversations as well.

Friday afternoon, after all of the trainees packed up for the day and headed home, Jared pulled you aside. “How’ve they been?” He asked quietly and nodded in the direction of the guys you’d started with.

“Haven’t even looked at me since Monday.” You shrugged. “I knew I’d be the odd man out because I’m… not a man, but damn.”

“I’m sorry if me stepping in made things worse.” Jared pulled his lips to the side and chewed the inside of his cheek.

You shook your head. “Like I said, I came in expecting being the only not-dude in the program. Not sure I expected all the current EMTs to also be dudes but…”

Jensen made his way over to you and Jared, frowning as he noticed the uncertainty on your face. “Everything okay? Did something happen? Something I should know about?”

Mild panic washed over your features. “Nope, all good.” You blurted before you could quell the anxiousness in your voice.

Jensen raised his brows. “If this doesn’t work out for you, you might want to give acting a shot. That was very convincing.” He licked his lips. “Wanna try again?”

Your eyes darted to Jared. You were certain he would’ve told Jensen, regardless of what you said. “I, um - the other day - Monday, the day we started, the - the guys kind of - um, they trapped me in the locker room and-”

“They what?” His eyes grew wide.

“They - they cornered me and - and Cory pushed me against the locker. He put his hand around my throat and I screamed. I don’t - I don’t know what his plan was, but Jared stepped in and stopped them.” You looked at your feet.

“I… what?” Jensen pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’ll have them suspended. I’ll go to the-”

“No.” You reached out your hands in front of you, waving them frantically. “No, it’s okay. They’ve been… handled.”

“Warned.” Jared clarified with a sly grin. “I took care of it.”

“Thanks.” Jensen gave him a tight smile and a knowing look, and you realized you’d be the topic of their conversation later. “Are you okay? Really? Being around him after all that.”

You gave a single nod. “Gotta be. I can’t let them think they got to me.”

Jensen drew his lips into a thin line and nodded again. “I’ll make sure you don’t have to work with him one-on-one, okay?”

“You don’t have to do that.” You insisted. “I gotta,” you scoffed a laugh, “man up if I’m gonna be around all you guys, right?”

Jensen rolled his eyes. “You don’t have to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. So if you don’t want to work with Cory, you don’t work with Cory. It’s simple. I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen.”

“Yeah.” You gave a small smile. “Sure, thank you.”

“If you need anything else, let me know, okay? When it happens, not four days after the fact.” He raised a stern brow as his hand fell to the ball of your shoulder, and you nodded your understanding.

“Thanks.” You repeated and glanced to the side, watching his fingers tighten around your shoulder. “Thank you.”

Jensen removed his hand from your arm and nodded his head in the direction of your car. “Go ‘head and get out of here. Have a good weekend.”

You stepped back and took a single step in the direction of your car. “Don’t work too much this weekend, yeah?” You threw him a grin over your shoulder. “Gonna need you in tip-top training shape on Monday.”

The corners of Jensen’s mouth perked up in a tiny smile. “That so?”

“Yeah, if you plan on keeping me as safe as you think you’re going to.” You teased with a wink before turning and disappearing to your car.

good question .I wanted to be a fireman when I was a boy but it didn't work out because I got scouted to be a model instead (I am very handsome). we had a fire on set once because Jared thought it'd be funny to light his bathrobe on fire with gasoline and then convince misha to wear it. I would save misha because he is very old and probably can't run fast. Eric is impenetrable to fire so he will be okay.

Wolf Pack Careers

Sam- I like the idea of him working in construction or contracting, eventually working his way up to foreman or running the business. My headcanon is that he likes participating in building things that will last, and finds inspiration in ancient buildings that still stand to this day. I also could see him as a cop or security officer for the reservation, since he already does that anyway. It’s stated in New Moon that he, Jared, and Paul ran off a guy who was selling drugs on the reservation, so I think he should be paid for it.

Quil and Jared are a lot alike, so I could see either of them as a local radio or TV personality, cracking jokes and entertaining people for a living. Jared can probably do a ton of imitations, so maybe he’d move off the reservation and be a voice actor for a kid’s show. I definitely think neither of them would settle down for steady 9-5 jobs, as they are both more free-spirited. Quil could turn his love of video games and comics into a career of graphic design or freelance illustrating, but he’d also be an amazing event or recreational coordinator for a nursing home, and he’d love listening to elderly people’s stories.

It’s hard to figure out Paul, but I could get behind him working as a fireman or something steady that most people wouldn’t want a career in- garbageman, truck driver, maybe he drives an armored car. Paul doesn’t care what he does, because his passions are his hobbies and interests and not what he does for a living.

Leah is a boss bitch and could do anything she set her mind to. The only headcanon I have for her job is that it would be anywhere but La Push. Maybe she’d end up as a park ranger, because I think she’d excel in jobs where she’s her own boss. She probably takes a ton of classes at community college to figure out her interests, and ends up bouncing around in a few different careers because she loves new challenges.

Jake builds and sells cars for a living, and spends his time building wheelchair ramps and other such things to make Forks and La Push and bordering communities more handicap and disabled-friendly. He eventually branches out in advocating for disabled spaces, and becomes a spokesperson on their behalf. Eventually he partners with a hospital and begins making custom prosthetics.

Embry is focused and detail-oriented, so a good career path would be a writer, but I love the idea of him being a lawyer for his community or the environment. I see him as just as caring as Seth, it’s just not as apparent, and he’s very dedicated to the community that took him and his mother in, and he’s perseverant enough to get through law school. He’d make a great lawyer because he’s passionate about justice and has a level head when debating. If he went down the writer path, he’d probably work as a bartender while writing his first novel, and he has the best stories because of it. He’d be into the mystery or horror genres.

Seth is passionate about improving lives, so I could see him as a teacher, but I think getting a degree in biology or zoology would be on his level. He’s a lot like Leah in that he can do anything he wants (Sue excels at raising self-sufficient and proactive kids), and I could see him as a midwife, paramedic, working at a wildlife reservation, a doctor, a nurse like his mom, and so on. No matter what he does, it will help people, because Seth does not stand on the sidelines when he could do something.

This ask is about two things.

1. Why demographic rather than audience matters, and

2. Gen Padalecki's comment that she and Jared are looking at three works to produce (star in?), one going to script.

DEMOGRAPHIC

Dealing with demographic, people (including me) keep pointing out how much audience loss Walker has had, and they are right ( it's lost 70% and I suspect it will go a little more) what is REALLY worse is that it has gone from a .37 to a point .10. demographic That means that the audience is 50+.

TV SHOWS ARE JUST THE SPACE BETWEEN THE ADVERTS. The only reason TV shows exist is to have the audience looking at the screen for the adverts. Of course, Advertisers only want to advertise to an audience who will buy. That is the 18-34 and 18-49 demographic. Older viewers than that are seen as not moving to new products or new luxury goods. Think of the adverts that happen at age related daytime slots, they are for grey power products not general products.

Demographic is measured by taking the whole of that age group in the country and see what percentage of that watched the programme. so .10 means that 1% of the target age market watched Walker (not total viewers in that age, total population). THAT is low. Demographic is why the CW wanted to be a teen market. You can have low ratings but high demographic and be more successful than a high ratings show. You need to be hitting the target audience NOT any audience. Advertisers won't pay big money for the wrong demographic.

So the falling demographic is more of a problem for Walker than the audience share. Both are catastrophic... but advertisers drive shows.

GEN'S NEW PROJECTS

Obviously the only way Gen is going to get hired is through nepotism. She's a bad actress. She was a very pretty actress and could get away with bad acting but she's 40 and has had so much work you wouldn't put her near a naked flame (sorry Jared, candlelit dinners really aren't safe...).

Jared however should be pushing the longevity of Walker. He hasn't got time to "actively exec" a 22 episode show and seriously develop another project. When he tried to simply act in other shows in hiatus during SPN he was exhausted and both he and Jensen said they couldn't commit to anything else.

So.... is the idea of another product signalling the end of Walker? it'll go to season 3 but on it's current trajectory (it's number 3 in demographic on a falling curve on a network that has issues) season 4 isn't actually a given. He, I suspect, is expensive.

Jared is a businessman and I'm quite certain he'd be just as willing to put on a stethoscope, strap on a fireman's helmet or put on khaki to sell Jared Padalecki in whatever other poor show he can think of for a couple of seasons. He sells to the same people, squeezing every ounce of of them he can.

However, he isn't A list. Every C lister ever tried to get themselves back in the game by self production, it's the only way actors can guarantee work. Doors other than the CW won't automatically open to him.

Perhaps we can look forward to a season of PadaChristmas specials on the CW? I can't see any other network being interested in Texas Eco Barbie and Hooters Ken.

I snorted! Alright, I will do my best not to go on a tangent, but given my track record, I’m not optimistic. 

First off, I had no clue how ratings and demographics worked until you brought your knowledge here and I appreciate it so much! It’s really fascinating to me! It also helps me (and probably the people who aren’t sure how the show is so garbage yet somehow “number one”) understand what’s going on and what counts. It’s really eye-opening to see those numbers too. I can’t imagine they’re too happy about their target demographic just simply not caring about this show the way they assumed they would. 

You’re right on the money about Gen only getting work through nepotism. If Jared wasn’t involved in Walker, she would have never landed that role. Try as she might, she’d be nothing without Jared at this point. 

You may be onto something with Walker being on the way out! Maybe Jared’s realizing that this show isn’t his ticket to superstardom and he’s trying to line up some back up plans. Either that or he just wants to follow in Jensen and D’s footsteps. After all, he can’t let Jensen (or anyone for that matter) have anything, can he?

You’re also 100% right about him doing anything to sell himself. We’ve seen him do it for the past few years and I don’t see him stopping anytime soon. 

Bias aside, I can’t see Jared or Gen bringing anything new and exciting to the table in terms of shows. Plus, if anyone has been watching his EP skills, I can’t imagine they’d be rushing to work with him. 

I guess time will tell, I just hope neither of them decide to make the leap to OnlyFans anytime soon....or ever.

How would the ROs react if MC try’s to kiss them but their too smol

disclaimer: I am not short. I am 5'9 (175cm) and in the 97th percentile for (female) height in my country 😭😭

Since I have a deluded idea of the definition of 'short', I asked my 5'3 (160cm) friend how short she considers short. So, we're going to say the MC in this scenario is 5'0 (152cm).

Amelia (5'9, 175cm) - A full head taller than you, Amelia grins as you approach her. Knowing you well enough by now, she reaches towards you and runs the back of her hand over your cheek. She bends at the waist and pulls you towards her for a quick kiss.

Chris (6'0, 183cm) - Chris always found it amusing - the height difference between you two. So, he purposefully lets you struggle. After a few seconds of watching you struggle, he bends down to kiss you. As he does, he laughs into the kiss.

Kaleb (5'6, 167cm) - Kaleb will always smile when he sees you and will always tilt your chin upwards and duck his head downwards. He has to duck downwards to kiss the heads of his nieces and nephews, so bending down to kiss you isn't an issue for him.

Jamie (5'7, 170cm) - Jamie still gets giddy whenever they kiss you. After years of mutual pining, they now get to kiss you whenever they want. So, when you approach them, they always prepare for a kiss, whatever that means. Whether it's Jamie bending down or ducking their head towards you as you stand on your tiptoes, they're always ready.

Jared (6'3, 190cm) - Jared is, by every definition, a giant compared to you. At 6'3, you still need to stand on your tiptoes to kiss him even after he bends down. So, when he sees you approach him, he seamlessly picks you up in a fireman's carry and kisses your face in a million different places as he breaks out in a laugh. "All you ever have to do is ask for a kiss! I'll always be here to give you one."

Taylor (5'3, 160cm) - Taylor is… not that much taller than you. Regardless, she acts as it annoys her (having to move her head downwards to kiss you), but she secretly finds it amusing and loves that for once in her life, she's dating someone shorter than her.

Sofía (6'1, 185cm) - Sofía, standing at 6'1, towers over you. However, at this point in your relationship, she's figured out how to kiss you without a struggle.

As she enters your apartment, she slides her jacket off and throws it over a chair. When she meets your eyes, her grin grows wide as she walks up to you and tilts your chin upwards with her thumb and pointer. She bends slightly at the waist, kissing you slowly and deliberately before pulling away from you and moving towards the couch, where she beckons you to join her.

Personal Opinion: The end of a steamy trilogy and what a ride it was. We get to our final coupling, Nick Beckert (the CEO) and Jared Kumpel (the pediatrician) in a finale worthy of this series as they love in secret but yearn to be open. There’s really not much I can say about this book aside from the fact that I appreciate the diversity and I’ve enjoyed Copper Point Medical’s queer family for all that it’s worth.

Couple Classification: Jared Kumpel X Nick Beckert = Prep X Prep

Do I Own This Book? Again, if I were to get the previous books in the series, then I’d probably get this one too.

Spoilers Below For My Likes & Dislikes:

Likes:

- Jared and Nick had a lot of buildup over the course of the previous two books so at this point, I was  invested in their relationship and finding out just how they were going to end up together. Basically, the entire story, I was giddy over every single scene where they were together because it was just so absurdly adorable. From those moments where they were just holding one another inside of the elevator and worrying that the other got hurt, my heart was in a perpetual state of swelling. When they could just privately be themselves and those rare moments when they showed their affections openly, I was just with them 100%. So much more so than Owen and Erin, no offense to them. But I just couldn’t help rooting for their happiness. And they’re also a verse couple and that’s just really fucking hot. 

- Something that this book had a lot more emphasis on than the other two was the found family of Jared, Owen, and Simon. I mean, they’ve been together since grade school. They all chose to live in Copper Point because Simon wanted to. It’s just so beautiful how much the three of them care about one another. And when Jared left Matt’s car to cry alone, Owen and Simon came to him and let him break down with them. No need for explanation. They had his back no matter what. And then we got Hong-Wei’s and Simon’s wedding too! It was so adorable but more importantly, we got to see Owen give Nick a piece of his mind. While also being respectful of the fact that not every gay person’s coming out situation is the same. He was there because Jared was hurting and I have respect for that. I love the found family that all these gay men built and I love that they have “family dinners” together. I’m also glad Nick never got mad at Jared because Simon, Owen, and Hong-Wei all knew about their relationship already. Although, to be fair, he exposed himself to Hong-Wei when he said, “I love him” before passing out.

- Uzma Amin and Rebecca Lambert-Diaz are queens. The former because she operated on the mayor and used that chance to get the city council’s backing for the hospital. Fuck Peterson! The latter because she is a badass lawyer who everyone can rely on and she’s truly head bitch in charge.

- Jared going off on his racist parents in front of the entire hospital staff and God himself was iconic. “From now on, you do not have a son and I don’t have parents.” Fuck them! Oh, it was so satisfying to see him fully break ties with them because he has a much more superior family anyway.

- The scenes where Nick got jealous over Matt and that one mystery fireman were so funny and also made me so giddy. Mostly because it’s what Jared deserved after being alone for so long. For someone to want him, to hold onto him, to make sure everyone knows that he belongs to him only. The scene where they were shopping for bow ties and Nick made it a point to cling onto Jared was just adorable. And they really decided to replace the k-pop performances for the kids for magic acts together, please, it made my heart swell as much!

- Jared with children was the most adorable thing. He’s just so good with them. Whether it was with Uzma’s children or with that toddler with fat feet that he loved hearing coo. He’s quite possibly the cutest man in the whole town and all those nosy people were right when they said they had never seen a man more suited to be a dad. Ugh, the fact that he wants to have four biological kids is just so sweet too. That shit is so expensive too, damn. It’s good that his future husband is a hospital CEO then.

- The fact that Jared got that many cancellations after his relationship with Nick became public hurt. I underestimated just how stupid and petty that bigots could be. But the fact that Jared’s co-workers, even the Evangelical ones, were so determined to show support to him that they told reception not to send child patients to them because they had someone else with an open schedule and perfectly capable of doing those jobs available was just so sweet. I appreciate the staff so much for their kindness and solidarity.

- I lost count of the number of gays but I love them all. We have the surgeon, a nurse, the gynecologists, the HR director, the CEO, the pediatrician, the janitor, the music teacher, the lawyer, and so much more!

- The sexy parts were hot, the parts with Emmanuela were hilarious, and the parts with the Amins were adorable. Not much else to say because I just really enjoyed the end of this trilogy so much in the end. And I do hope Kathrynn was serious when she said they should start a club for queer folks of color. Hong-Wei (Taiwanese), Nick (Black), Ram (Indian), Rebecca (Latina), and herself (also Black) deserve that space to themselves.

Dislikes:

- Grandma Emerson and Aniyah are good people but I hate that they made Nick so miserable by refusing to accept him. I do love how well he handled himself after coming out though. He told them how much he was suffering while in the closet and they refused to come around immediately but I guess that’s just how the heteros are. They don’t get it. They don’t get how painful it is to hide that part of yourself. But damn, they seemed to switch so easily when Jared accidentally blurted out that he wanted to have kids and for two of them to be fathered by Nick. Were the matriarchs of the family seriously that put off by the idea that Nick wouldn’t have kids when surrogacy is a possibility? Nah, their children are not tools to continue the family name, fuck that. I do get that they didn’t want life to be harder for Nick as he’s a black man in a predominantly white town but they do realize that they’re contributing to the very difficulties that Nick would face by perpetuating the bigoted sermons that their church did. At the very beginning of the book, we had people at the wedding whispering about “those people” and talking about Hong-Wei and Simon’s wedding date like it was a sin. Fuck that. As much as I do respect Emerson and Aniyah for everything they did for Erin, I just find it hard to reconcile what they did to Nick. They really wanted him to hide for the rest of his life and didn’t care about him being happy huh. They cared more for Erin’s happiness than their own son’s.

- I underestimated how bad this town was. Apparently people just walked up to Simon to call his husband an anti-Asian slur, the fuck? And people were somehow more homophobic because they were in loving relationships. Like, damn, okay, fuck you. 

- The final chapter, just before the epilogue, felt rushed to me. Like all the problems were solved just because Kevin the janitor came forward and exposed those two security guards? That’s all it took for the big issues to be solved? I do sort of get the lesson though. Kevin being gay and not trusting local police makes sense. He’s seen shit. So when Nick came out, Kevin realized that this was a like-minded person. Someone he could trust. Still, I think he should have gone to Jared. After all, he knew everyone in the staff as the town gossip and he knew Kevin by name AND he was out too so Kevin should’ve trusted him at least. Oh well.

- I feel like I should be annoyed with how Matt confronted Jared about his relationship and the unfairness of it like he knew what was going on in Nick’s life. Like, shut up white boy, you don’t know shit. It’s complicated, okay? But I don’t know, it felt important for Jared to speak on these things out loud and for him to realize to himself how he felt about Nick. How Nick, to him, was so much more important to him than even his dreams.
