It was nice seeing Elaine out of her makeup for once! It makes everything feel a lot more open and vulnerable, which paired with her asking if she's prettier than the poster is.... ouch. I just want to give her a hug, it's obvious this isn't a side she shows to just anyone.

Also "It's very nice clown car," and "Who needs seatbelts anyway?" My exact thoughts lmao. I wonder, considering they're taking the route Eileen took when she died and there's emphasis on how packed the car is/no seatbelts........... hm. Are we due for another traumatizing event?

ahh yeah it was super important that elaine is okay with being around austin without makeup now (though that doesn’t mean she’s very confident in herself, just that she’s comfortable with him). i’ve always wanted elaine’s insecurities to be subtle, because she’s the first one to compliment other people and build up everyone else’s confidence. none of that is ever fake – but it’s hard for her to apply those same principals to herself. she’s not the type of person to jokingly insult herself, point out her own flaws, fish for compliments, etc. so it’s really just the quiet moments where we get to see her deeper feelings.

the seat belt thing is mostly just because it would’ve been a pain in my ass to draw seat belts or create meshes for those poses, so i skipped it 😔 but i also think it’s characteristic of this group’s feelings. aside from matt, every one of them witnessed the crash that killed aileen, and that was only the first of many horrific sights they’ve witnessed. as a result, they all have their own fucked up views of death. stevie and elaine have a blase outlook – it’s coming for all of us, so you might as well have fun. jada’s view is more nihilistic – it doesn’t matter what you do or how hard you try to stop it, you will die. asa isn’t scared of death in the slightest – he’s more curious than anything else. so the fact that none of them wear their seat belts or practice general safety is unsurprising. matt being the only one to care about the seat belt issue just highlights how messed up the others are 😭

and thank you so much!!! i’m always wishing i had the benefit of sound/music like TV shows do, but i try my best to make it feel atmospheric without it :’) i really appreciate hearing your thoughts; these types of messages are so inspiring 💖

when i was 10 my school did this thing to encourage us to go to college where they let us choose our “dream school” and they made us custom t-shirts. but i told my teacher that i probably wasn’t going to college because i’ll just drop out of school and have a baby 😭 my teacher was horrified and kept pushing me to choose a school, so eventually i picked my local community college. i was the only kid with “[redacted] community college” in a crowd of harvard and stanford t-shirts lol i have always been painfully, painfully realistic

If its the self aware au, they probably wouldn’t say anything, mostly out of fear. They don’t wish to upset you, even if your slang and phrases weird them our or confuse them.

Though those closer to you might ask for context, or if what your saying is some sort of inside joke of some sort sjdnks

Ingo would probably laugh though, an inkling of his memories probably reminding him of a meme or two.

Do you think it was a good idea for Marisha (and Liam) to reveal their feelings for Jester if they had no intentions of pursuing it? At least Marisha did it in game unlike Liam (which was an even worse decision) but still. After all, this is not a book, we’re not privy to their internal monologues so it just feels kinda pointless to me if they never intended to do anything about it. Marisha didn’t even have a song about Jester in her playlist. It looks like she completely dropped it. Strange.

I mean, they probably intended to follow up when they revealed them, but I don't think we can really say that they don't plan on doing anything now? I guess I can see it in Liam's case since it was confirmed OOC and Caleb doesn't seem to be showing signs of telling anyone - but of course that could change, like a lot of things in the game. In Marisha's case, I don't think she's fully dropped that thread - even with the playlist, or her recent interactions with Yasha, it doesn’t automatically mean that Beau’s feelings for Jester is suddenly just gone, it just means that she probably has feelings for both of them that she needs to sort through; and even if she does intend to drop that thread, I doubt she would do it with no closure.
