#kirby gijinka #marx kirby #I love feeling more comfortable designing characters with long hair now #before I think a lot of my characters had short hair for my own wish fulfillment and projection of my gender ideals #now that I’ve had short hair for so long I’m a lot more comfortable with playing around with hair length in character designs #I really enjoy putting up hair in a tight updo as a show of like. character restriction or self control #with marx in particular I think pre-nova it’s a pretty clean updo with few stray strands of hair #then immediately after receiving nova’s power he gets to let loose for the first time and all the hair fans out a lot more #and for star allies he has a much healthier balance between the two with more flyaway strands #but then the more power of nova he uses the more his hair is disheveled and falls out of the jester cap #anyways idk #the state of hair is such a fascinating thing in characters because it’s one of the easiest things to change about a character I think #while still being recognizable as the character that is #a lot of the design for my pink oc had a similar idea where they have their hair pinned tightly and then hair falls loose as they let loose

They should give me millions of dollars to make a prestige historical drama. What will it be about? I don't really know, but I will have three or four dress historians on staff to do for historical costuming what those consultants hired by the Jurassic Park producers did for paleontology. Everyone's hair is styled period-accurate with hair oil and authentic product, I forbid the actors from using modern shampoos during filming. Hats will be worn!! There will be no explosions or CGI because I spent all that money on textiles.

Thinking of the first embrace Loquatius gave Laerryn, not even hug, embrace. That first burst of closeness, of desire after the drought of affection that started after she 'lost' Evandrin to Zerxus, but then even before that the physicality of their friendship was something else entirely.

I'm talking about those early days of "i'm yet to name what this is, and yet, under my breath, I call it love" when Loquatius trained himself to keep it private enough as not to be labelled as a relationship by others but not so much that the sexual tension could be denied.

This... this is hunger turned into motion, arms tight around her ribs, over her shoulder, chest to chest, pulling and pulling and still not close enough, the scent the shape the textures growing familiar, the memory of pleasures past, lips seconds from crashing, her grappling with the overwhelming knowledge of being wanted in a myriad of ways, shamelessly publicly, the freedom of wanting accepting welcoming being wanted.

They can't do it in front of people who know them because it'd take half a second to see through it --- Loquatius doesn't hug like this and Laerryn doesn't hug at all.
