Ohh to be under the watchful eye of the honored one...

A Japanese fan of JJK pointed out [HERE] how the pattern in Gojo's eyes is very similar to the pattern of the glass panel in episode 1 of season 2, the one Utahime is standing before.

This is interesting because the glass panel was given significant screen time to be shown and focus was put on it.

And in Episode 2, Gojo himself talks about his technique and how difficult it is to cause massive destruction whilst also taking into consideration the vector around him (objects, people).

This explanation is accompanied by the vision of Utahime running through the mansion as its falling apart, indicating how Gojo destroyed it but also went through the difficult task of ensuring Utahime is completely uninjured.

Utahime is also seen to be in the center of the destruction, under the very same glass panel.

The glass panel feels like an eerie but beautiful metaphor towards Gojo who basically plays God (the honoured one) in JJK verse, capable of watching everything around him..👏😮

The pattern (a chrysanthemum motif) used here is called kikuka-monsho and is of much significance in the history of Japan. It was commonly used by the imperial family and nobility.

Personally, i think this was a very intentional touch by MAPPA and ofc Gege since he's involved in the creative process of the anime..🤔

a/n: I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS ONE he is so gjnsghjsk he deserves to be spoiled ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡) tysm for the request, enjoy!

hoooo boy, this guy will get jealous over literally anything sometimes. 

he can’t help it, he feels insecure when your attention is on someone else. the voice in the back of his mind immediately starts telling him that you’ll forget about him in favor of whoever you’re interacting with now. 

the rational part of him knows it’s not true. he knows you shouldn’t be put in a position where you can’t even talk to other people without him getting upset, that it isn’t fair to you, so he doesn’t his best to keep it to himself. 

he knows he’s unreasonable about it most of the time and keeps his mouth shut and just huffs for a bit until you come back to him, but you can always tell he’s jealous anyways. 

will sometimes even get jealous over animals or inanimate objects. he has hidden things from you on multiple occasions just because you would become so distracted by it that you wouldn’t hear what he said and it bothered him. 

poor baby wants attention so bad, but cannot for the life of him ask for it normally. pls help him. 

“awwww,” you coo quietly from where you’re crouched in the grass a few feet away. a small orange cat lays at your feet, rolling around happily and eating up the belly scratches you’re giving it. if the cat could smile he’s sure it would be, if the blissful squint of its eyes wasn’t telling enough. 

this cat comes around quite often - it’s a stray from somewhere in sumeru city, but ventures off to vimara village on occasion and waits at the docks for the locals to give it fish. it’s spoiled and mischievous and often greets the two of you by swatting at the tassels on the wanderer’s hat, knocking them around like toys and nearly tugging it off in the process. 

you are undeniably fond of this despicable creature and always stop to shower it with pets and talk to it like it’s a human baby. the cat doesn’t understand a word coming out of your mouth, but soaks it up your attention nonetheless. 

the wanderer watches with a growing frown as you pick the orange tabby up from the ground and into your arms, adjusting it so that it won’t slip before burying your face into its fur and rocking back and forth slowly. the cat is absolutely loving all of this, purring at a clearly audible volume and letting itself be held tightly by you. 

he clicks his tongue and turns away from you at the sight, refusing to watch the ridiculous show. he’s standing right here, yet he may as well not even exist with how absorbed you are with the pathetic creature in your arms. what can that animal possibly give you in return that makes any of this worth your time?

he can hear the way you’re leaving small kisses all over its head and grits his teeth against the pit swirling in his stomach. how ridiculous.

when you eventually put the cat down and move to stand in front of him, he refuses to meet your eye, pretending to be fixated on the kids that are chasing each other through the village nearby. 

“you ready to go?” you ask him casually while adjusting the bag of supplies on your back. “we should get back before it gets dark.”

“sure.” the wanderer responds dryly, already walking forward so that you have to skip to catch up with him. 

you don’t say anything about his pouting until you’re a good distance away from the village, and he presses his lips together tightly the second you turn your body towards him and tilt your head forward to get a better look at his face while you walk. 

“please don’t tell me you’re jealous of that cat.” you get straight to the point and the wanderer almost trips over his own feet as soon as the words leave your mouth. 

“of course i’m not,” he snaps, arms crossed over his chest. “what do i have to be jealous about?” he can see the teasing smile you give him out of the corner of his eyes and it only makes him frown harder. 

“whatever you say,” you clearly don’t believe him and your tone makes it very obvious that this won’t be the end of your teasing, but you leave him alone the rest of the walk back to your place. the sun hangs high as the afternoon approaches, partially hidden by the clouds passing underneath and warms and cools his skin every time the light shines through just to be covered up again. 

when you swing open the door step inside, the wanderer makes a beeline goes to sit down at the small table in the kitchen while you drop your bag on the counter and start sorting through the things you returned with.  you hum quietly to yourself as you do, and after watching you for a few minutes, his eyes slip shut in the comfortable silence as he rests his cheek against his hand. 

the sound of your footsteps approaching is the only warning he gets before the next thing he knows, he feels your warm hands cradle his face while you pull his head into your chest and wrap your arms around his shoulders so that he can’t move. he tenses up immediately, his eyes flying open and his hands bracing against the edge of the table like he’s about to pull away and get to his feet, but he stays put. 

he could easily detangle himself from your embrace, but he remains frozen to the spot even as alarms start blaring in his head. 

“is this okay?” you ask softly from above him. he can hear the way your voice resonates through your chest and unconsciously relaxes a bit in your arms, your heartbeat a comforting rhythm against his ear. 

not trusting his voice, he nods and your fingers start slowly combing through his bangs. you start to pull away after a few moments and he begins to panic, almost grabs onto your shirt to keep you in place, but pauses when you crouch down so that your face is level with his. he isn’t expecting the soft press if your lips against his forehead and feels blood rush to his face at the action, half of him internally begging you to do it again while the other half urges him to flinch away. 

you move down a bit to press another against his left cheek, then his right, then on the tip of his nose, and everywhere else on his face except for his lips. the peppering of kisses are so warm and gentle that all he can do is melt into the touch, hands coming up to grab your arms to hold himself steady as your lips delicately brush over his closed eyelids. 

when you pull away to look at him he’s pouting again, and you can’t help but poke fun, just a bit. 

“are you satisfied now?” his cheeks burn brighter at the question but he refuses to answer and frowns, instead opting to snake a hand behind your head and pull you in until your lips finally meet his. 

the kiss is soft and sweet but slightly desperate at the same time, like the wanderer wants to devour you through it, like he can’t get enough. the way you card your fingers through the hair at the back of his neck sends a shiver through his body and he pulls you impossibly closer at the action, lips trembling slightly against yours. 

when you pull away with one last chaste kiss and ruffle his hair affectionately before going back to the supplies on the counter, the wanderer can’t help but feel a bit proud of himself. all of this, just because he acted envious over a cat. 

he’ll always find a way to get your attention one way or another.

S.E.E.S outfit

They like leaving the top button opened so I made sure to add that lil detail. I can't really think of what weapon Jacob might like and my first thought was their DnD oc so axe it is. I think I could give a shortsword too

Persona concepts - I made two since Alpharad and Jacob are two different people so, to me, it makes sense they'll have two primary personas depending on their situation

1.) Icarus (Sun Arcana)

- I think this one is obvious..... I didn't think much about it besides trying to make Icarus have the Nintendo switch joycon theme since their channel is mostly Nintendo. I wanted to emphasize the Icarus complex part with the nice long hair and having the mouth opened. Blue top because their favorite color is blue.

2.) Howl (Moon Arcana)

- I think i have a lot to say about my thought process for this one but Howl Pendragon inspiration was because of their Howl costume during their birthday😭 ok but if I sit and think hard on what kind of person Jacob is, my first thought was "they wear their heart on their sleeve" - it's kinda what I noticed after watching the Google Play live and seeing them in person during Scribbles After Dark when Ross couldn't make it. Especially during the show - I know they were all following a script but my gut feeling keeps saying Jacob seemed nervous😭 but they're experienced in hosting and doing shows so it probably wasn't something a lot of people noticed. My idea was that the persona acts all flamboyant or like an entertainer or something but because, I think, Jacob's emotions is easily shown on their face (or to be specific, their eyes) I made the chest area stand out and tried going for a water theme to signify emotions. If I could, I would animate the chest area but I don't have a lot of time for that

I’ve had a scenario playing in my head for a little while: What would Friend do if one day they came over and saw Keagan heading towards MC’s apartment door/already talking to MC? If he’s already talking to MC, I’m sure Friend would see the panicked expression on their face as they’re hiding behind the door, obviously looking for an excuse to cut the conversation short. 🤔

TW: VIOLENCE

Friend held the stuffed animal to his chest as he bounced along the pavement towards your apartment. This is the best plushie he’s ever made! It’s super durable, and he’s never made a sloth plush before. It was a test run of a pattern he created, and he was so excited to show you.

With a spring in each step, he climbed up the stairs towards your apartment, humming to himself happily.

What he didn’t expect, however, was what would be waiting for him at the entrance of your apartment.

You were talking with someone it seemed.

He giddiness grinded to a halt as he took a moment to process the situation.

The man seemed to be agitated, and was speaking in a harsh tone. Your eyes flittered around anxious, your mouth in a complacent smile.

He walks up behind you and places the sloth on your head.

“Hellooooo sweetheart!! I have brought thee a gift!”

The sloth’s legs dangled in your face, startling you as you looked back at your companion.

“F-Friend, hey! Why don’t we-“

You started to say, but you were immediately cut off by …

“Wow, still friends with this creep, huh?”

Friend raised his eyes from you to the person you were speaking to.

Brown hair, blue eyes, calling him a creep…

The it hit him.

“Oh, I remember you now! You look very different from how I remember you.”

Friend lays his arms in your shoulders, slightly pushing your back into his chest.

“Okay, good for you, I’m not here to talk to you. I’m surprised you haven’t been locked up yet.”

Keagan scowls at him, crossing his arms defiantly.

Friend hugged you a bit tighter to his chest.

“Haha, the keyword is yet! That can change depending on how this conversation goes.”

Friend smiled.

“You don’t intimidate me, idiot. I need to talk to—“

“Dearest!”

Friend excitedly says, cutting Keagan off. He placed a hand on your lower back as he led you inside your door.

“Why don’t you sit tight and watch a movie or something, hmm? I’ll be right in there!”

Friends threat to Keagan left you nervous about leaving the two alone together, but you also just do not have the energy to deal with Keagan right now.

“We were in the middle of a conversation!”

So, you allowed Friend to get you through your door, and you hear the sound of it closing behind you.

As the door shut, Friend glared at the man before him.

“What makes you think that, after all this time, they’d want anything to do with you?”

Friend stood stock still, his anger boiling inside of him. How dare this lowlife just come out of nowhere and think he could weasel his way back into your life? After what he did?

"I know you're blonde but I didn't think you were stupid too! I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to THEM, now get outta my way."

Keagan reached for your front door, his fingertips brushed the knob before Friend grabbed his arm roughly.

"Take one more step, and I'll snap your arm in half, then your other arm, your legs, and then drop you off in the middle of a desert somewhere."

Friend spat, his words dripping in anger.

Keagan looked at him warily before yanking his arm away.

"You do realize they are a grown adult, right? They can take care of themselves, and if they don't want to talk to me, they are able to say so."

Friend eyed him angrily, and Keagan slightly shifted. The floorboards creaked at the movement.

"They are mine."

The words echoed throughout the building, bouncing off the white plaster walls.

Keagan blinked in confusion, before it dawned on him.

"You think- ha!"

He couldn't stop the laughter from bubbling out.

Friend was not amused.

"They are mine and mine only, now get out."

Wiping a tear from his eye, Keagan shoved his hands into his pockets.

"First off, they are a PERSON, not a thing. You don't own people, you psycho. Second off, the fact that you think after all this time I have any sort of romantic feelings towards them is hilarious."

After a beat of silence, Keagan walked towards the stairs.

"I'll come back at a later time. Try not to kill them or traumatize them while I'm gone."

And with that, he left Friend in his spot, still soaking in his anger and hatred for him.

Part 2.

-- I've heard that you had the most trouble to design the katsudon - what do you think about the final design?

I: Hiramatsu-san introduced a few corrections to my design, and I've also received a lot of help from the Color Director, Hirose-san and we have a very sexy and delicious-looking katsudon! (laugh) It was also very important for the Director to make the food look delicious, and that's something that I very much agree with, so we talked and shared our opinions about how the food should be drawn, colored and finished-off, while working on the settings. Specifically, we thought that we should show the density in the sakuga, and the texture by using shadows and different colors for different elements and in the color choice itself, and also that the food would look more delicious if we didn't add any special effects.

-- As the assistant of the Animation Director, your job was to manage the animation team - please tell us some stories about the animation process.

I: It's not related to my job as the Animation Director's assistant, but for me personally, drawing mini-characters was the most fun part. Especially, drawing the Three Otaku Sisters' kamishibai [storytelling using drawing] using crayons, and drawing the explanation with mini-characters moving on actual blackboard was a very new experience to me, one that you can't normally get with other animes. As for my job as the Animation Director, because I designed the katsudon, I think, all scenes with food were given to me. Katsudon, squid sashimi, katsudon-pirozhki and borsch... I like drawing food, so it was fun. As for scenes with characters - I was responsible for the scene in episode 7. where Victor clings to Yuuri. In the cut, where they're looking at each other, after they fell on the ice, Yuuri's facial expression was a bit more awkward in [Mitsurou's] storyboards and in [the Director's] storyboards, but when I watched on the screen the cut that I have actually draw, the nuance was a little bit different... I was wondering why, but I think, because I was drawing while listening to the voice-off recordings, in a good scene I was inspired by Toyonaga-san's performance. Performances of voice actors gave us, animators, very valuable hints.

[Notes: Sounds a bit as if she just decided to ignore the storyboards for one of the most famous scene in the entire anime, but the difference probably wasn't that big, otherwise, I think, she would mention something about Sayo and what she thought about the change... (although it's also possible that she was too busy at that time to be that particular about every facial expression and in her head the scene was different🤔).

The raucous Dikebael

My response to this week’s BestiaryPosting challenge from @maniculum

Thought process under the cut..

"The Dikebael can be translated as [redacted]. They live in Africa; they are very large and untamed and wander in the desert. Single males will dominate a herd of females. The males are jealous of the newborn young, and will bite off their testicles. The mothers, aware of this, conceal them in secret places. The naturalists say that the Dikebael calls twelve times on the night of 25 March, and the same number of times in the day; the number of hours in the day or night can be counted by the calling of the Dikebael, which it does once an hour."

Another noiʃy beaʃt...

Okay, so we don't have a lot to go on here. It's very large (I should perhaps have made them bigger, but didn't have much to compare them against apart from the pile of rocks - and the random creature being watched by the baby).

It's untamed (which I also read as slightly shaggy), and a desert beast; hence, large ears for dissapating heat, long eyelashes for keeping the sand out, and large feet so it doesn't sink into the sand. We also know it's a herd animal, which leans heavily towards it being another ungulate. I feel like its got to be a mammal of some sort, as they tend to be the only animals that go out of their way to harm baby members of their species...

The markings around the eyes are based on an oryx, it has some striping on the back legs (mostly for a little interest) from Somali wild asses, and a black tuft on the end of its slightly floofy tail from fennec foxes.

We have a calling dikebael, with the mouth (and teeth!) based largely on horses, and a baby hidden in a secret place (behind a pile of rocks... it's a desert, they don't have a lot to work with...!)

Testicle biting again... If I had a nickel for every time we had a ball-biting beast I would have two nickels, which, as ever, is not a lot, but it's still a bit weird. It's all getting a little Freudian if I'm honest (this might have been the reason I leaned a little towards a horse-like creature with this one... 😉)

Also, what's special about March 25, anyhow? It's not quite the equinox... this is going to be a religious thing, isn't it... 🤔

Also, I thought I knew what this creature was, and made a conscious effort to lean away from that animal when I was drawing, but I've suddenly had a bit of a revelation, and realised that I may have been wrong and inadvertantly gotten pretty close to the actual source of this beast in a couple of ways... It'll be interesting seeing if I'm right in my (new) suspicion...

HJ: idealist activist who is so convinced his idea of a “perfect” world is right he ends up turning into some authoritarian leader doing the same things he was rebelling against but “for the good reasons”

SH: idk why but he kinda gives me “jealous villain” vibes? “If I can’t have it/them, then no one can” energy… or, alternatively, overprotective partner/parent who goes overboard trying to protect his loved ones and ends up hurting them

YH: I’m so sorry but narcissistic/jealous partner kinda villain 😭 He just seems TOO good to be true…

YS: philosophical chaos maker? Kinda like Makishima Shogo from the anime Psycho Pass… or some kind of sadistic villain who looks innocent and cute maybe? I love him so much but the fact that he might be the smartest member of Ateez and doesn’t look/act like it is definitely a villain trait for me lmao

SN: definitely poor boy who becomes Mafia boss to avenge the loss of his loved ones but loses himself in the process and destructs himself and everyone around him

MG: the one who was screwed over too much in life so he just goes “if being good gets me nowhere, well fuck it, I’ll be bad”

WY: chaos maker but… for fun? arson, fake news spreading, “Loki watching the world burn” kind of vibe…

JH: corporate evil, like the ones from k-dramas except he can’t be defeated bc he’s smart AF and just good at it

Also this makes me wonder what kind of villain I would be… I wonder if it’s possible to do a tarot reading on that? Since it’s a dark theme I guess the energy would be too heavy for a reading but I’m a noob so I don’t know lol

I do a lot of dark readings so I think it wouldn't be a problem for me to ask about a hypothetical scenario where you would become a villain. 😁 I can even think of like 5 or 6 decks which would be perfect to use for this type of reading. There's nothing like a too heavy energy for me. Sometimes it's difficult to word things I see in the cards but I can surely do this type of a reading to test it. Munver body swap AU, they each wake up in the other's body and bed, Eddie proceeds to snoop the hell out of Jason's stuff and may or may not ruin his reputation in the process of what he finds, but I can't decide what Jason would do 🤔

Eddie waking up in a room with a giant king size bed and dark blue sheets and covers; Jason’s room is decorated in basketball posters and trophies, his school books from the previous years on a shelf by his desk that’s kept neat and orderly. But he’s got a poster of JAWS and pictures of him at aquariums, one even with Chrissy, polaroids on his mirror of his teammates and Chrissy. His letterman is tucked in his closet, and his shelves are filled with books on aquatic animals, but mostly sharks.

Eddie is starting to think Jason is a nerd too, honestly. Just in a different way. Probably wants to be a marine biologist if he can’t make a career out of laundry baskets.

His wardrobe is filled with polos and khakis, jeans and jackets that could be confused for a letterman with their shape, but there’s only one with Hawkins Tigers printed on it.

Eddie knows immediately when he looks in the mirror and sees Jason that he’s been hexed or cursed or something. He should be freaking out but his first thought is how good this is gonna be. Rubbing his hands together like the little devil he is and his expressions look weird on Carvers face, but whatever.

He gets dressed (and peaks at what he’s equiped with - he’s kind of mad that Jason’s thicker but he’s longer so he could suck shit) and practically bolts down the stairs, half dressed like he usually is when he rushes out of his own trailer.

“Jason, what’re you causing a racket for—? Do you plan on leaving the house like that?” Mr Carver’s face is twisted in disgust at Eddie’s choices; tightest jeans he could find that he just ripped up messily with a pair of scissors, dirty sneakers that look old and well worn - did Jason fucking hike? - and a black polo with the collar undone. His letterman was tied around his waist and the colourful shark watch Jason already had on matched with an ugly souvenir bracelet that looks like a shark eating a surfer. Fucking gold. He couldn’t believe Jason owned something so dumb.

Eddie grinned with Jason’s lips.

“Sure do, Paparino.” Eddie winked with a click of his tongue and before the older man could recover he grabbed his face and licked the left side of his face and smacked a loud kiss there. “Bye bye!”

He only hears the explosion after he’s closed the door, cackling as he ran towards Jason’s car. Oh this was going to be fucking amazing.

Jason on the other hand wakes up with a crick in his neck. He’s groggier than he’s ever been and it takes everything in him to raise his head from his pillow, groaning with closed eyes. Did he drink the night before? He knew he had to get up, but it felt like fighting a battle just to leave his sheets.

He yawns as he stumbled out of his bed, the floor freezing. He hisses and finally pries his eyes open only to scream. Those were not his feet, or his boxers, or his fucking floor.

He whipped his head around at the room. It was tiny compared his one, posters almost entirely covering the wallpaper, water stains on the roof, a vanity in the corner. Jason almost tripped over what looked like a cushion chair as he made his way towards it, grabbing the red guitar and placing it aside so he could see himself.

Munson. He was looking at Munson’s mug.

He screamed again and a thunder of footsteps followed.

“What’re you screaming about boy? You alright?” Jason whipped around and almost lost balance, crashing against a black acoustic guitar with white painted words on it. He didn’t break it, but it did fall to the floor loudly and he rushed on instinct to grab it, to secure it back into its place.

“You’re not the quietest kid, but you aren’t usually this worked up? Was it the nightmares again?”

“Nightmares? What? No, I—“ Jason pointed at his reflection dumbly. It occurred to him that he must look insane. This was Munson’s uncle, he worked the auto shop his dad took his car to for tune ups. And right now, he was wearing his nephews face. What was he supposed to tell him? ‘Sorry, I’m actually Jason Carver, I’m inhabiting your freaky nephews body right now and am currently freaking the fuck out over it?’

“…are you high? This early? We have rules here, respect for each other, Eddie, and you know I don’t like you doing that stuff before school. After school and in your room with the window open is all yours, but—“

“I’m not high!” Jason’s voice cracked around the high pitch of his denial. He wasn’t high, Jason refused to touch that stuff, even if Munson did.

“Alright, alright.” Wayne put his hands up in surrender. “But if you’re having nightmares again, you know you can talk to—“

“I’m living a nightmare right now, I’m gonna get dressed and leave.” Jason cut him off with a finger and a disingenuous smile. He looked at the closet and ruffled through it wildly, grabbing the first jacket he could find and cracked open the dresser to wrangle on a pair of jeans.

“Why are these so tight?!” Jason cried and Wayne watched with wide eyes.

“…Are you sure you’re not still high?”

“Please leave me alone!” Jason begged in defeat and Wayne tutted but closed the door. Jason banged his head into the dressed with a groan.

“I’m going to kill Munson.”

He got the stupid jeans on (not before taking a peak because okay, he was curious, school boy shit you could call it, but he was a little jealous Munson was fucking hung. At least Jason has girth, skinny asshole) and rifled around for a set of keys.

Jason and Eddie would see each other at school and Jason would drag him away; which is a hilarious sight because the basketball team is up in arms at the freak stealing their captain but the captain is insisting it’s fine. After acting all weird all morning.

When they realise neither know what caused this or how to fix it, they’re stumped. Cue Jason begging Eddie not to fuck over his entire reputation and life, and Eddie decides he’ll only do it if Jason pretends to be him, like actually tries.

Jason hates pretending to be Eddie because he’s not but somehow he’s able to manage it. Eddie is going a little insane because he’s used to his brain being very loud but Jason’s is pretty quiet outside when things around him get too much and he feels like screaming at anything and everything. Eddie has had to hold back from full blown meltdowns that he never even knew Jason had. He wasn’t very good at social cues anyway but Jesus, his brain felt like slush after a day at school and he found himself flipping through his dumb shark books.

Jason on the other hand has to manage Eddie’s mood swings, the spikes of anxiety at nothing, the sluggishness of depressing thoughts swarming him, the constant clutter in his brain that seems to work for him sometimes and then other times not. He has to refrain from saying the first thing in his brain, to implant a filter that’s barely working. He can’t focus on anything in class and it brings him to near tears because how does Eddie even deal with this? All the time? Is this why he does drugs? Was it because of drugs? Is this why he never graduated? Jason wouldn’t be able to either honestly. Somehow, he ends up playing with Eddie’s guitar in turn, not very good, but his hands have somethings memorised at least. The metal music is starting to make sense to his brain, so loud it drowns out his own constant monologue.

There’s also there families and friends. Chrissy who pin points that Jason’s different recently but that she’s pretty sure it’s because he seems happier and she’s glad for it. Eddie is starting to get Jason’s attitude with his parents; they’re both right assholes in that snide, rich people way. In the ‘reputation is everything to us’ way because their egos are so fragile that they have to pick at others. No wonder Jason was such a perfect golden child; he doesn’t have room to be anything else.

Jason feels weirdly at ease with Wayne, even if the older man looks at him suspiciously like he’s not sure if his sons been replaced by a clone. He’s away at work most of the time but he’s supportive, a bit gruff but always smiles at Eddie - at Jason in turn. He watches JAWS with him when Jason asks awkwardly because it’s been weeks since he watched it and he’s itching too.

DND is where a problem occurs; Eddie can feign being decent at Basketball, or faking a minor injury he should stay off for a couple weeks, but Jason can’t feign his knowledge of DND or LOTR.

They don’t know how long this will last so Eddie says he’ll teach him everything and write the campaign he’s halfway done drafting with him.

Cue the romance. It’s awkward, being each other’s bodies. It’s been weeks and they already know all the moles, freckles, birthmarks and scars on each other.

And maybe Jason’s body has a reaction to Eddie’s body even if Eddie, the one inhabiting Jason’s body, isn’t trying to go there, you know? But it’s a strange thought; how much of their brain chemistry remained in each other’s bodies and influenced each other.

Eddie kisses his own face to find out. Because he knows his own body is wired to want to fuck just about anyone if he gives it more than a second thought, but Jason’s? Perhaps it’s a fluke.

It’s not. Jason himself, his soul or whatever, seems wired enough to want him back just as badly.

I like to think, funnily enough, it’s after they’ve fucked that they switch back. Like they orgasm and then suddenly BOOM, Jason’s got his dick inside Eddie instead of inside him, and it’s a little disappointing honestly sksksk

Cue them switching because if things are back to normal, they’re fucking each other without having to stare at their own face okay?

i saw it in theaters april 12th 2017 with my parents. i was ENCHANTED (winks at you specifically) from the very start. i truly remember just being so enamored with everything about it. every song every scene every change from the animated version i was like GOSH THIS FILM IS GENIUS. MAGNIFICENCE 🤌🤌

i remember driving back to the hotel (we were on a trip touring a potential university, twas spring break) with my parents and i literally could not stop saying “that was SO GOOD…. like that was So Good you guys.” and my parents were like yeah it was good ! but my brain was Buzzing

i remember coming back to school the following monday and telling my friend group that i saw it and one of them was like ah, it wasn’t good :/ and i like. had a 404 processing error. it GENUINELY did not ever ONCE occur to me that anyone could possibly think that this movie was not the greatest of all time. i think i was down bad immediately without truly realizing it though

i saw it in theaters a second time. i think with a friend who also really loved it? i actually forget that i had someone to be feral about it with irl for a minute. she somehow carried on with her life after a few months though… weird🤔

i definitely knew i loved it A LOT right away, but i also remember being very guarded about it at first. like i was afraid to fully dive in. literally i didn’t even buy my own merch until like, 3 years in. i received gifts but i just?? i don’t know. i guess i was afraid to make it my whole personality if i was gonna fall out of love with it. which happened with bbc sherlock and i was very sad about that. i don’t get big interests very often so i didn’t expect to lose sherlock and i also wasn’t sure how long this would last.

i also Wasn’t on tumblr at the beginning. i joined tumblr in 2019 so for like two years i was just floating around in love with the film on my own accord. i wrote fic in my notes app and didn’t post it anywhere. i just watched it a lot and thought about it a lot and it was just like. secretly and silently the love of my life

but then when i finally got on ao3 i started posting fic and on tumblr i started talkin about it and i got louder about it slow but sure. i became a madman. and now i’m here. seven years later.

I have a brainrot on SxF but indeed i have other fav anime shows (i just never was very involved in fandom)

° Evangelion (anime and movies) truly broke my brain (in a good way). Then i read several books about Evangelion lore and his author Hideaki Anno's life and creative process.

°Beastars : clearly one of my other fav animes. I read the manga and i am now waiting for the finale and season 3, as it was announced at AX. Just asking how they will adapt half of the remaining manga in one season 🤔 (maybe i ll do some fanarts too) i love Itagaki work (and my husband loves Baki, whose author is her father (go watch Baki, it's very funny with a lot of buff men)).

°Brand New Animal : a short anime serie but a very intense one. I loved everything : characters, layouts, ambience and OST. One one of my fav artists did concept arts on this show and it's 🤌

°Ranking of Kings : i cried. A lot. (But did not have time to watch spin off yet.)

Komi can't communicate : So cute. And it made me cry too sometimes 😂

Lol Hunter is not only very comparable to each main or supporting character in Owl House, but also damn comparable to other blorbos.

Anyway I visited my demon son Akira in some episodes of 2018's Devilman Crybaby..

And I was reminded that looking at other stories and similar cases can strengthen my headcanons and metas. Referring to The Hunger Games, since its protagonist and Hunter have the same mental health condition, could convince me that Hunter will spiral into extensive depression after Belos's death before he shows signs of recovery.

But..I hadn't given serious thought to rage being one of Hunter's several grief responses after Watching and Dreaming's final battle..not till now. 🤔🤔🤔

Because Akira is a darn similar personality to Hunter: very gentle, empathetic (in fact, Akira is an empath, literally experiencing other people's emotional pain, feeling it for them when they don't really want to..hence the show's title). And Akira has also never wanted to harm another person. You'd initially expect gentle souls like this to like, never get angry.

After Akira's mother passes away in traumatic circumstances, his behaviour is such that he puts up a front to appear fine but he isn't holding it together well..

It's not visually shown but from the first person perspective of Miki (his best friend) looking at her ceiling, she and the audience can hear him screaming in rage and breaking objects in his bedroom right above hers. Right after their chat on the balcony (shown in the previous screenshot). It's one of his bereavement responses. But this rage only comes out when he's in his own space, not with anybody else around.

Idk..now I wouldn't put it past a poor grieving Hunter in the early months of those 3-4 years, to have at least one very unexpected explosion of rage after some bad trigger comes along. He might subconsciously feel safe enough in the company of the Noceda family, that he'd create a mess in Luz's basement in a frenzy like that. It would happen so fast, seemingly out of nowhere. Of course, he'll feel so awful and guilty after expending that energy, shocked at himself and disgusted with himself. And/or it may happen if he decides to visit the castle ruins.

Or....(and this is sadder but idek)..what if it happens in the early days of him learning the palisman-carving craft? He wouldn't touch and destroy anything made from palistrom wood but some other objects might be pushed off shelves or something. Hunter is someone with a long fuse, but a lot of little frustrations building up could light that fuse. In the case of the carving workshop, him making mistakes and getting splinters on his hands in the process of learning...that might leave him frustrated enough to have a one-off temper flare. He'll feel awful but Dell is very kind and would treat him so well and help him.

I was also told by friends that Hunter would feel very off balance with no more staff to use, since he relied on staffs for so much of his life that they'd feel like an extension of his own body. With no staff, the sense of his physical center would feel different and I wonder if this might feed into frustration that is part of his general grief...to the point that this frustration does indeed build up into a brief rage explosion at some point.

Like Akira, he'd definitely not direct that at any person or living thing. But inanimate objects might be destroyed. 🤔🤔🤔

Our bodies sometimes do instinctive but frightening things out of nowhere to release emotions and attempt to restore psychological balance, and it can happen in a flash. Wails that you can't control which escape your chest, keening, or heaving with sobs, and in this case anger and rage. Anger is the most immediate natural response when our boundaries are crossed. Rage is an especially big outcry after we have been violated, fueled by fear and grief.

I have been watching the presentation on Runes that I mentioned before. It's the kind of event meant for people working in animation to share their experience, so they're going through explaining the whole development and production process. And man, there is a lot of amazing art.

One of my favourite kinds of concept art is just kids hanging out and having fun. And some (the one with warriors in the sky and the one with Alice standing near a river) remind me of paintings, like something I've seen before. The atmosphere in these is amazing.

This whole spread is amazing. I love the image of Hela and Ulrich drinking together, and he's just all grumpy and worn out while she's having a great time

But damn, that design on the right is so cool!! I'm kinda sad they discarded it. The design notes are... something? "I'm not for the tomboy side, I would like her to be attractive and for Turstin to be shocked when he discovers that she is evil. She has to hide her symbol from the start to do the reveal :)" So I guess Turstin was supposed to have a little crush on her? And what's that about a symbol? I have no idea.

"I think it's so grilled (??) that she is a villain from the start. Normally during development of the story Hela shouldn't put on appearances, it's hard to trust her from the outset :)" Okay, that makes sense.

"The idea would be for her to be pretty and for no one know who she is really. Her hair in a braid will hide her symbol, and she would change her look to be more snakelike and evil". She changed so much, I literally can't imagine current Hela looking "snakelike". Maybe her original personality was way different as well.

And here's my man Ulrich, he looks mostly the same, but the design on the left kinda looks like a younger version of him. I also love the little Neel reaching out to him

Hi Amber!! I’m actually opening this up to everyone because I’ve also been chasing the high of WOTH since I’ve watched it and haven’t found anything that quite matches it 🤔

Getting some of the obvious ones out of the way (that you’ve probably already read):

Beach Read and Book Lovers both have protagonists in the writing world and feature academic(ish) rivals encouraging eachother to pursue their passions, but they’re a lot more romance-focused and ik EH isn’t for everyone. (I liked Beach Read better, this is an unpopular opinion lol).

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before also deals with the fantasy vs reality of romantic relationships/idealizing romantic interests and making decisions regarding your future but again, much more romance-focused.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue has a similar focus on the arts, creative process, imposter syndrome, and having a muse + idealized romance vs real romance but is probably least similar as far as plot goes.

And as for general vibes, you might like The Scorpio Races? Vague early 20th century setting, mostly ordinary world featuring fantasy creatures and small elements of magic, beautiful scenery, protagonists that form a bond but are developed as individuals (romance is not the ultimate focus), deals with major decisions about the future. Bonus: as of last year, an animated film is in the works!

Anyways fandoms are a community space that everyone plays a role in. One of those shared responsibilities is calling out poor behavior especially racism when you see it or reporting it at the very least. Nobody is saying you have to make a call out post or soapbox or anything. Just a simple block, report, or even warn mutuals if you see them interacting with said user. Even something as simple as not giving them any sort of interaction can do the trick.

If you take a fandom and give every person an individualistic view and thought process that nobody has any reason or purpose or responsibility to call out shit cause nobody owes anyone anything or someone else will handle it: you no longer have a fandom, just a coincidence.

A fandom is a fandom because of community. Otherwise you just have people with a common interest.

The whole point of That Post I made was to do MY part by stating that we have a problem and we’re all ignoring it or not doing enough to solve it. Which, ironically enough, got pretty ignored. Nobody is saying that a fandom is an “amalgamous blob”. Nobody is saying that it isn’t filled with individual people. In fact I’m saying the opposite. We ARE individuals which is why it’s important that we all do what we can to make a welcoming and positive environment, especially given the nature of the original content.

There’s a thing called a bystander effect for a reason.

Also that post was FILLED with examples of the people and their reaction to the things I was talking about, so obviously it’s an individualistic view that’s the issue here. I’ve spent years in this fandom watching this same old thing carry out in the exact same manners. A user gets their racism called out. Users followers either defend said user and/or harass the people calling them out. People throw a tantrum about how they didn’t know better or how it was a historically accurate portrayal or a portrayal based on another users or how it’s not really a big deal cause it’s just an anime or whatever and yada yada. The whole thing ends with said user going into hiding for a bit but ultimately almost always coming back and/or getting away with a slap on the wrist. I’ve seen this happen at least five times.

Also I find it very interesting tumblr user minthota that every time I’ve made a post about how portraying Nazi germany in the fandom is bad, and something we should stop doing, you’ve not only tried to argue but even told me to kill myself over it once :). Wondering if there’s some sort of connection there 🧐🤔

Sup, I'm the same anon who talked about how Kaguya sama openings being connected to Daigo ships is possible. I saw that you would love to see my thought process on how I came up with that and ngl, I'm dying to to share it anyone so here it is lol.

I'm not proud to say it, but ngl this has been on my mind for atleast a year now 😅🤣. It started when I revisited Kiwami 2 which is also the time I became a fan of the show or fan of the opening to be more precise. I tend to watch anime that I'm not familiar with if it has very good opening songs. (Death Parade tricked me with its opening, and I love it. Ya boy Koming, that one has a banger op and a great show.) I usually watch anime that I already heard of or know because of the manga. Very good fan animations also gets me to watch the anime. Anyways, back to what I was getting at.

RyuDai with op 1. First the visuals, allthroughout the opening we see the main characters pointing weapons at one another, which emphasizes the war in "love is war". This just reminds me of how Ryuji and Daigo are at war in a way, whether it is due to personal or clan affairs. The weapon of choice also got my attention. We've seen Ryuji with a sword and Daigo with a gun so this works since in the op1 Miyuki and Kaguya are pointing their respective weapons at one another, just replace that with RyuDai The lyrics pretty much works well, like too well imo if you look at it with this ship in mind. Depending on how you translated the lyrics, it can even become more suited for this ship. In addition, the whole vibe of the song screams tension to me. The translated lyrics " this game were playing Are you aware that this is one where no one wins" And "I don't need a fairytale ending Cause happy ever after ending only exists in movies" Connects well to this ship cause frankly this is not a lovey dovey relationship that will end up good, especially with how the canon story went, but plays to the theme of yeah despite the what tragedy it may/ have turned to, there is/was love in there. "You and I are playing a dangerous game" Is it talking about something spicy or the fact that they are technically from the rival clan of one another? Both can work. Have you read the fanfic "Circling Dragons" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/25474858?page=5&show_comments=true&view_full_work=true )? 'Cause, oh boy, that really is what pushed me to go, "Yeah, Love Dramatic can be its theme song"🤓🤣. Like seriously though, whenever I hear the song, the visuals in my head mainly comes from this fic. Bruh, I'm losing my mind. Anyway, in addition to all of this is Daigo and Ryuji themselves. I feel like if they believe in something they will do it no matter how dangerous it could be. They also both have pride/stubborn and I don't see one of submitting to the other, though at the same time both of them can show care, which connects to the premise of the show as well. I'm probably talking out my ass at this point but keyword in my last message is "probably" so ehh.... The "I can't decide" animatic on youtube by uhh... "北极光" (I can't read this but that's their channel. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/B4a3fJS1aXc ) also helped fan the flames for my imagination to go wild. I actually connected the bridge and the last chorus of Love Dramatic with the last two to three chapters of "Circling Dragons", it just fits imo. I won't explain cause I might spoil people who haven't read it.

With that, I went from, "This is a silly idea😂, I wonder if this could work?🤔" to "Okay how about the other openings?🤔😃💡 How can I connect it to other Daigo ships?" and this spiralled out of my control.

ShinaDai with op 2. You might ask, how did I came to this conclusion that it can work since they're not really at war at all or didn't interact that much. First and foremost, I just wanted to say that fics that I've read also helped in creating this connection to my mind. This also applies to other ships I love. Anyways back to ShinaDai. Let's start the visuals, I admit there's not much connection, but boy, if you changed the first fifteen seconds of the opening, where Kaguya is using the bow, with Shinada or Daigo using a bat and instead of a sudden shield it is them catching the ball, it works. It can allude to the fact that they are the target of their affection like how it is as well to Kaguya and Miyuki. The school setting also helps since that's usually where their (Daigo primarily but Shinada also if you want) love ✨blossomed✨🤣 for the other. Another connection I see is with the vibes of the song, the songs is a bit more playful, but earnest and wholesome, which I think fits Shinada. The song is also like alluding to love making or driving them crazy, which I think fits Daigo's whole thing, sort of... 'cause bro, beating the other school's students for a baseball game which ultimately led to you being expelled is crazy. I graduated as a Valedictorian in highschool so this fact is like so much more crazy to me. Like I get that Daigo doesn't feel like he has a dream (hehehe "Yume") of his own, cause I was the same, but being top of your class opens up more opportunities in the future. I was content with follwing my parents' careers but I eventually got my own goal/dream (hehehe "Yume"). In addition, the baseball plot being connected to Omi and Tojo business is fine and all but seriously though first impression I got after finishing that chapter was that Daigo went there cause he wanted help Shinada and that he knew him when they were in highschool, that's crazy and ridiculous but I love it XD🤣. Another thing I would like to connect is the fact that shinada could've just stayed but he still sent out of his way to help the other protags like bruh you're a civvie joining in to a yakuza business. I know Akiyama is there but he's there because of Haruka and Kiryu. I say he has more connection to the main plot cause he's there with Haruka. Okay, let's come back to how ShinaDai works with op 2. The translated lyrics "Throw my heart to the flames" Fits them cause boy you're getting close to the danger or harm's way just because of someone. Have you read the fanfic "Mob" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/30643031?page=2&show_comments=true&view_adult=true&view_full_work=true ) or "Immovable" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15002513?page=3&show_comments=true&view_full_work=true ) ? Cause some parts of that fics, as well as other fics, sparked my imagination on how I could connect this to the opening. I also found a connection with the lyrics in the bridge of the song "Suddenly I'm falling, into a great unknown A while new world before me, But I'm not alone" It fits with the whole thing where Shinada really doesn't know anything about the Yakuza world, but he knows he'll be fine since Daigo is with him, that is if that's part of your headcanon on how this ship end up.

MineDai with op 3. I love this ship and ngl when I heard season 3 for kaguya sama is coming, one of my wish was for the op 3 to work for this ship. Insane I know. Imagine my joy when it did lol. RGGO I love you cause man, whenever I hear this song, the Mine sotries from that game comes to mind. I love games like that (RIP Naruto Blazing I love that game 'cause collecting all those characters is amazing. The art is cool and I can see some ninjistsu that was only mentioned but was never animated in the anime. I'm a free to play so no, I'm not spending my money on games like this) please tranlsate it rgg even the stories only, please. Anyway back to how MineDai fits with GIRI GIRI. The lyrics imo, is in Mine's perspective and I know I'm right. The song is all about wanting to get close, wanting to get to know them, wanting for this love that they feel to be true and I guess reciprocated. Mine is like this in his rggo stories he has some dialouge where he says something along the lines of he wanted to know more about Daigo, heck one of his mission (sort of) is to get the attention of Daigo just to see for himself what kind of Daigo is, wondering if Daigo is being true in his intention of being friendly. That sort of stuff. The lyrics "Your love, your love, Your love, just confess it to me" Fits if we want to look at Daigo egging on Mine or being "haha unless...". I feel like this fits cause in the stories from fanfic or rggo, Daigo is trying to reassure and get Mine to relax, you know just be friendly with him. Him flirting subtly to Mine works, but alas Mine seems to be too... professional, but it was nice to know they eventually became drinking buddies. You know the fan comic by Alciedoodles, basically like that, that's what I'm trying to get at. I actually have created a whole scenario with the 2nd verse The lyrics "I feel my patience growing thin, You whisper "Don't you ever leave me." with a wisful dream Trying to pinch a nerve, but I've started to learn That your cunning, crafty ways Won't ease this feeling deep in my heart" The Majima family in the bar singing while Mine and Daigo are there just chilling and drinking. Mine is being irritated with the singing, then Daigo hits him with that line and a flirty smile where Mine then proceeds to be flustered, hahahaha. I love and hate my imagination. The first verse also connects in how I'm sure that Mine/Daigo vice versa knows that they're not exactly an angel and they do stuff around them that might not be ideal/good in their perspective. The visuals, I like to replace the student council room with the chairman's office 😅. The sequence of all the students, replace that with the clan members. Now here's where my imagination and knowledge about some RGGO stories really kicked in, you know the pre chorus part in the op 3, where Kaguya and Miyuki are in the student council room then it transitions like a film until Miyuki is gone and Kaguya looks back and sees that he's no longer there then it spirals. If you've read the "Character Story - Mine (RGGO)" translated by cryingcow (for anyone wanted to read or re read this here it is: https://cryingcow.tumblr.com/post/628065021946150912/character-story-mine-rggo ), the end half of chapter 2, that's basically what I imagine that sort of parallels in my mind to this part of the opening. While the chorus where Kaguya runs, I connect that to the chapter 3 of that story event since Mine is basically running around in Kamurocho trying to find out where Daigo went. (My favorite thing about that whole thing is that Mine called cap when the Barker told him that Daigo went into a taxi with a woman then bought every taxi company just to know where Daigo is 🤣🤣.) The bridge of the song fits them, where Mine is really affected on how Daigo acts as well as how it can be hard for Mine to explain his feelings. Depending on how you translated it, you can also interpret one of the lines as " Trigger on the gun, Towards the one you love" That fits with that Yakuza 3 cutscene.

I also wanted to add that op 2's visuals fits with MineDai as well: Mine as Kaguya and Daigo as Miyuki, the majima family as the other students dodging the arrow, and Kashiwagi as Hayasaka in the first 15 seconds. Then in the chorus, Majima with his family as Chika and others being the love detective. Aouxjsishdj hahahahaha I love and hate my brain.

MasaDai with op 4. Now we finally got to the part where this is fully created and fabricated by imagination. This is brainrot or creativity at the highest level. Love is Show definitely fits when things are going well between them. Tbh, with the visuals and song being classy, especially in the chorus, I can just see that hey maybe tojo clan holds an event where every family attends and that's where we can have Daigo and Masato dressed up properly and dance together. Though I like to think that they danced out of sight of anyone, like idk in the gardens? lol. The lyrics " The romance is about to wear off, I'm not normal, and neither are you Is it love or is it not?" as well as in the second verse, imo fits their whole thing. Like yes I ship them, but is it truly love or just attraction? Add to that there's also a lyric where it's saying that they don't want to be alone, which I think both of them feels. I see them as a parallel to one another where they both hated being part of the tojo clan or yakuza in general, which resulted to them being feeling rather lonely. I can see them finding solace and comfort in finding someone who can understand them. You know the MasaDai comics by todayisfridaynight and the fic "Sons of Bosses" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/45958153?show_comments=true&view_full_work=true ), works imo with the lyrics for both first and second verses, where they mostly talk in cabarets and have some tension going on. I know that the song is actually very sweet, but I also can't help but imagine the lyrics in the chorus as something alluding to this love is just a show, something they use to escape the reality of their world atm. I know it might sound far fetched but isn't that the beauty with art, we can twist it in our own interpretation (just be respectful, especially for differing opinions). The bridge of the somgs also compels me, I have this voice in my head that it works with MasaDai, but I can't see how atm.

Anyway, I think we can all agree that I am clinically insane and has a stage 5 brainrot for Daigo ships. Look he's my favorite I want to give him love, but it won't make it easy since when there's conflict it makes the payoff much more sweeter and deserving. Yes, I love angst with a happy ending. Look this gives a chance for a character arc, evolution, or growth and I like that.

So... this is it. My essay on how Kaguya sama openings can be connected to Daigo ships. Ngl, I enjoyed writing and sharing this since this have been eating on my brain for atleast a year now. i don't really talk about them much on here (it's a crime i haven't drawn them yet) but gosh i love ryudai so much 😭😭 i read circling dragons last year and it ruined my week in the best way. it's absolutely one of my favorite fics ever and i've been meaning to read it again!! it's so interesting to connect that here aaaaa ryuji and daigo's whole relationship is such a whirlwind… most of the time it's less than gentle, but they DO clearly care for each other, even if they're not the best at showing it lol. still, there's so much holding them back from each other, as you pointed out; like their pride, their ambitions/goals (especially on ryuji's part), the omi and the tojo,,, they keep gravitating toward each other, but given their situations and personalities, everything is just a mess aaauugugghh *screaming as i think about them*

also totally random to note, but there's that shot toward the end of the op where shirogane and kaguya are facing each other with guns behind their backs that makes me think specifically about that part from y2 where daigo and ryuji are just walking around each other at omi hq before they fight. i just like the image of them staring at each other surrounded by hearts dshjsfkj

i think this is a neat intepretation of the song! with them, their love isn't exactly… good, and obviously it eventually goes to shit. though when it comes to kaguya and shirogane, i think the song is more about how their love should be like, shown off and celebrated now that they've confessed
