Today is the first of our new weekly feature: @dlizotte82’s Slatterday Saturdays. On here I’ll be featuring some of the goriest films I’ve seen over the years and will also be looking to all of you for recommendations as well. First up is the 2007 film Inside which stars @alyssonparadis and @dalle.beatrice. This film is often mentioned when highlighting the best movies of the new wave French extreme films. This is one of my favorite movies as I still remember the tension and anxiety I felt the first time I saw it. And the gore...oh yes the gore is magnificent. The plot revolves around a home invasion of a pregnant woman with a crazy invader intent on taking her unborn baby. As the pictures show, hand stabbing, massive amounts of blood, and DIY c-sections are on full display. This is one I always recommend when people ask me to recommend a good gore flick. On my blood splatter rating scale, this is 4.5 out 5 and I fully endorse this pick! Cherry Tree (2015) is an Irish-Dutch production based on the horror film villains and subject I love most, Witches! ................................................. This was a first time watch for me tonight and loved it. Yes it has a the cliches that you would expect from a witch movie...birth, death rebirth and the homage to rosemary's devil baby but I still love shit like that especially when it has awesome special effects, excellent kills and the characters can keep my intrest. Death Warmed Up, directed by David Blyth, is a sci/fi horror coming out of 1984 as one of New Zealand's first horror films. It follows a kid ( Micheal Hurst) who gathers a group of friends to seek out for revenge on a mad scientist that programmed him into killing his parents while fighting off his pesky zombie mutants. I absolutely loved this film, its stylish, love the nurses outfits ha, and the acting and pacing is good.
