I feel the need to remind people that The Gaslight District is not replacing The Amazing Digital Circus, Glitch is prioritizing TGD now that the pilot is about the drop and the two shows will be airing simultaneously so they will both start getting equal promotion. It doesn’t mean they’ve stopped caring about TADC, keep in mind this is an indie production company working on multiple shows and bringing many creators’ visions to life and that they’ll all get their turns in the spotlight. We’re just barely at the midway point for TADC so it’s not like it’s going to lose steam any time soon, we just need to be patient and not get greedy about it.

The reason I voice this concern is because there were plenty of Murder Drones fans who were angry about TADC “stealing the spotlight” back when it started and even blamed it for MD getting cancelled (it wasn’t cancelled, it ended on the creator’s terms—just like TADC isn’t getting cancelled for this, we are still getting the rest of the show). All I’m asking is that people please be respectful and patient as well as supportive of Glitch in this time. Let’s just be nice and enjoy our shows in peace, and please consider giving Gaslight District a look as well because it looks pretty cool so far.

"So I think they're using other languages," Tim says, the moment Bernard opens the door.

"Well hello to you too my beloved boyfriend," Bernard responds, kissing Tim on the cheek and pulling him into the apartment.

"Shut up," Tim says, following Bernard to the table. This is hardly the first time Tim has skipped past pleasantries like that, and Bernard seems to find it more amusing every time.

"Aw, I dunno if I can do that. I really like to talk to you," Bernard grins conspiratorially. "Plus, then I wouldn't get to tell you that you're half right."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, obviously other people noticed the comment, right?" Bernard, gestures towards the computer, where Tim can see the cryptic comment. It already has dozens of responses. "Mostly people are just freaking out about it, because this is like, our first instance of direct communication from them, but one of the people who saw it actually recognized what language it is."

"Just one?" Tim frowns.

"Yeah. It's called esperanto. I googled it and apparently it's a conlang from the late 1800s which is pretty cool. It was, like, invented to be kind of a universal language, I guess? It pulls from a lot of different languages, so that's why it looks like multiple languages."

"Huh."

"But! There's still the encoded portions to figure out, because the translation as-is doesn't really make any sense." Bernard scrolls and points to the translation that a commenter had offered. It reads To be fqzuhsx-ayccas is to be qtdkv-avnwkwkb; the veil afph-gqkduik but it is meant to igpmtwi-ocdq. Determination in the face of doubt.

"Huh," Tim studies the text, then notices something. "They've specifically encoded the verbs."

"Yep," Bernard shrugs. "I haven't tried anything for the encrypted stuff yet; figured i might as well wait for you."

"Okay, well I guess we start with the simplest? We know they've used caesar ciphers before, plus this is in response to what we did with the first caesar ciphers before, so we might as well try one of your decoder websites for that first."

"Seems reasonable," Bernard says, pulling up the website from before. He quickly copies the first word over and hits the button. "Well shit, that was quick."

"Only the first half, though." Tim mutters. "Do it to the rest of them." Bernard copies and decodes the rest. In short order, they have a the first half of each encryption decoded.

"To be gravity is to be orbit, the veil disk but it is meant to eclipse?" Bernard frowns. "That... doesn't make much more sense."

"What's up with the focus on astronomy, too."

"Oh, right, we haven't gotten that far yet. They keep referencing space stuff. There's like, a running theory about these messages being supposed to have come through a black hole?"

"Is that even possible? i thought black holes ate stuff forever."

"I dunno, I'm not really into space stuff. Besides it's like, sure there's evidence for it, and space seems to be narratively important? But the premise seems kind of contrived to me."

"You think they're doing something bigger than what everybody is seeing." Tim stares at the forum thread. If anything was going to give Bernard's theory some credence, it would be what literally just happened.

"Exactly." Bernard posted on a forum arguing that he thought the game ran deeper than people realized. And the creators, who so far hadn't interacted directly, had responded to that post, with a triple-encrypted message.

"Each shift was one further away than the last," Tim thinks rapidly. "It started with language, which could be either a part of the effort to encrypt it, or a part of the intended meaning. Possibly both. Then, they used caesar ciphers for the first layer of encryption, the same thing they used in their first post. How did they encrypt things in the second post?"

"I think I kind of mentioned it before, but the second post used a vigenere cipher. The names of the people in the first video were the keys, if I remember right."

"The first is the key to the second."

"What-"

"Take the second part and decode it with the first."

"Dude your mind is scary sometimes," Bernard laughs, but moves to do as Tim says, revealing the first encrypted word. "To be seen. That works..."

Tim starts writing down the full message, as Bernard decodes the rest. Finally, they have the full text of the message the creators intended to send.

"To be seen is to be remembered; the veil distracts but it is meant to hide. Determination in the face of doubt." Tim reads.

"Huh," Bernard says, leaning over to read it for himself. "Well, now we know what it says. Now we just need to figure out what that means."

Eddie being shown hugging Ravi rather than buck in this scene has me up in my feels actually.

Especially in combination with the conversation about Eddie being in the army and having been to a lot of funerals like this.

Because Ravi is a physical embodiment of bucks abandonment issues and Buck is watching on when the hug happens but not when the army stuff is talked about and that’s significant. It’s Eddie embracing bucks fear of abandonment when he’s feeling abandoned by his pseudo father and trying to live up to his last words - that the others are going to need him. So Eddie embracing Ravi is Eddie embracing Buck - having bucks back as he always has done and which we get a further representation of when they are carrying the coffin.

Feel like Neil couldn’t have been any other kind of actor than one in theatre. If he was a movie actor or on social media or whatnot, it would not be the same. Theatre by nature is fleeting. Recorded mediums can be rewatched over and over, creating a time loop of sorts. We the audience can keep going back to a time when Neil is still alive. Theatre however is live and once the play is over, there is no going back except in our memories. It is much like life. We are forced to live in the moment in a theater lest we miss it altogether. It’s not that the poets choose to live in a world where Neil is dead, it’s that they must because the only other option is to die themselves. I feel like Keatings teachings could only be reflected in stage theatre because that’s the only way there can be no time loop of grief. I think dead poets society itself isn’t about overcoming the authority in your life to do what you want but rather about grief, about allowing oneself to feel grief and all one’s emotions without letting it consume you and to keep living after, to live every day in the moment lest you fall into grief and regret that will destroy you or force you into a miserable life

Before we recruit our lovebird prisoners, we have to convert them to see the truth of our ways. Ivy is a remarkably good socialiser, so she's on prison wardening duty. She's doing amazing!!

We usually feed our dead to the harbinger trees, so we don't have too many corpses lying around for this death pall to raise, but nobody likes choking on this smog while it's around. Everyone is annoyed about it (except Alistair who has never complained about anything because he's perfect)

gortash sets up a lending library at his estate after seeing durge’s in the bhaal temple. they both know they’re the only people who use them so it turns into a sort of game. durge loves music, so after enver’s last visit a book about viola has appeared in the temple library. enver fancy’s himself a jeweler so it’s only natural a scroll about gem welding would end up in his library. books relating to their schemes, hobbies, pasts, futures, inside jokes and aspirations get passed back in forth. the only extended pause is when a novel about star crossed lovers gets dropped in the bhaal library. it’s weeks before the favor is returned and enver receives a scroll about bhaalist marriage ceremonies. he doesn’t know whether to take it as an advance or a threat, so he accepts it as both.

After rewatching Naruto Part 1, I realized how mid this manga/anime actually is, and how Kakashi, who used to be my favorite character as a teenager, is just bland and has zero charisma.

I think the only reason he's popular is because of his look and the Sharingan. He seemed promising at first (a dark cool sensei), but he never evolved beyond his first intro: no goal, no ambition, no personality. Just a mop of a man who wastes his time looking miserable at the grave of his “friend” and reading sketchy books in public. (tbh, I don’t even think he’s really grieving Obito, more like mourning his own ego, since the so-called “loser” saved him and gave him the power that made him “elite.” That would explain his cringe guilt, because otherwise it makes zero sense, he wasn’t even close to him).

As someone who lost a parent and has seen firsthand how toxic work environments can deeply affect a person's mental health, I really DESPISE how Kakashi turned on his own dad as a kid. He chose to side with a system that literally pushed his father to end his own life, instead of demanding justice. (That’s a terrible narrative choice (very badly written character). And no, age doesn’t excuse it, especially if he was close to his father.) Even as an adult, he doesn’t seem to care. (Do we ever even see him at Sakumo’s grave in the manga? I'm not sure.) Instead, he stays loyal to a corrupt system to the point of being willing to kill his former favorite student, all while knowing well why Sasuke acted the way he did.

His whole mantra “those who abandon their friends are worse than scum” is pure hypocrisy. He repeats Obito’s words like some holy scripture, but he clearly doesn’t understand them.

Because if he did, he’d have left Konoha, or at least tried to reform the corrupt system that sacrificed people like his father, his friends, and Sasuke's family.

And Kakashi should’ve never become Hokage. He doesn’t have the mindset for leadership. He’s weak, lacks dynamism, and boring.

And I’m not even gonna start on how he disgustingly tried to manipulate Sasuke by using Sakura as emotional bait… His dialogue in that scene was straight-up ripped from one of those generic Facebook life quotes boomers post. I cringed so hard reading it. It’s easily the worst-written line he’s ever had in the manga, it even dethroned his lecture to Sasuke about revenge, which used to be #1 on the cringe scale.

Honestly, like most fans, I think I actually liked my version of Kakashi instead of the canon one (annoying, passive, purposeless. Even his voice irritates me). I’m nostalgic for his connection with Sasuke… I just wish he’d been smart enough to show some real concern and understanding.

Kabuto should’ve ended him during the Suna/Orochimaru invasion. He served his purpose after teaching Sasuke the Chidori. After that, he was just useless. But because of his popularity, and since Naruto is more about fanservice than actual narrative consistency, he stuck around, being useless as always.

In 10 min + only like 4 messages from me, lovely miss Salma replaced the items, refunded the missing order, gave me a coupon for expedited delivery (I was cooking and needed those ingredients lol...), and gave me a very sweet and thoughtful goodbye :')

After my dad dipped, my mom worked a second job in retail when I was little and idk! She taught me a lot of important lessons on kindness. Don't yell at people helping you, that's someone's nice mommy trying to be nice to you too

Hi everyone, life update! I deleted a lot of social media apps (including this one) off my devices, because it was getting really overwhelming. I tried to remain semi-active on just bluesky, but even that was a bit rough during my busier times.

I signed up for a painting course, and it’s been real good to just draw for fun, in a low stakes environment with no pressure to create a finished final result that will be posted, printed, or published anywhere. I’m still trying to find that balance between all the different conflicting facets of my life, and I wanted to say that I’ve read your messages, and I really can’t thank you enough for your kind words. It sounds really cheesy, but they really meant a lot to me, and I think it helped to keep me going during some rough times recently. I’ve been slowly working on some illustrations in between all my work, and I hope I can show them to you guys soon. I think that as long as we’re alive well have to struggle between all the different directions we’re being pulled in, but even though it’s hard, we should still continue to do the things we love. Ultimately, I like to draw, and I like to post my drawings, and that’s why I started a side account for art. I want to continue to like drawing, and I want to continue to draw, even if it’s hard and I’m tired sometimes. Let’s push through together. I hope you guys are doing well.

A while ago, I got to join a kind of stream held by the script coordinator of HZ (Kureha Matsuzawa) after the broadcast of an episode he wrote.

He shared a few tidbits of his work and was really enthusiastic about Horizons and Pkmn in general. It was nice to witness so much passion behind the writing.
