In Spanish, French and Italian, “decisions” are something you “take” like a train that leads you somewhere new, whereas in English you “make” them like little pieces of your own creation. But in German you “meet” them like friends. Aren’t languages beautiful?

[Episode Four] Group Date with House Three!
Our Bachelor and the contestants of House Three enjoyed a night out on the town for their date! Drinks flowed and warbling voices cracked on into the wee hours of the morning. Daniel enjoyed everyone's company, but he seemed more subdued in his private moments with our front-runners. I wonder if something is on his mind?
aka dear god i am so sorry to the creators of my house three babies, i wanted to get you guys to three parts but these pixel doofs were absolute hell in a handbasket to handle, and these are literally my best shots of the night 🥺 this lot is the restaurant & karaoke bar built by the fabulously talented @bottsbotts!

'Martin Scorsese is weighing in on the smash summer combination of Barbie and Oppenheimer, which he says was the “perfect storm.”
“I do think that the combination of Oppenheimer and Barbie was something special. It seemed to be, I hate that word, but the perfect storm,” the Killers of the Flower Moon director said in an interview with The Hindustan Times. “It came about at the right time. And the most important thing is that people went to watch these in a theater. And I think that’s wonderful.”
The simultaneous release of the films directed by Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan proved to be a box office smash for cinema and for the rival studios. The event came to be known as “Barbenheimer” and was fueled by Tom Cruise sharing on social media that he had bought tickets to both films.
Although Scorsese says he has not watched the films, he claims to be a fan of Nolan’s work and worked with Robbie in The Wolf of Wall Street...
“The way it fit perfectly – a film with such entertainment value, purely with the bright colours – and a film with such severity and strength, and pretty much about the danger of the end to our civilisation – you couldn’t have more opposite films to work together,” he added. “It does offer some hope for a different cinema to emerge, different from what’s been happening in the last 20 years, aside from the great work being done in independent cinema.”
Scorsese’s sentiments on Barbie and Oppenheimer echo the comments made by Francis Ford Coppola who called the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon “a victory for cinema.”'

Band of Brothers Ages: IRL vs. Actors
Did you know that according to a 1947 study, almost half the men who served in WWII were still under age 26 by the end of the war?
What this is : A (very long) post comparing the ages of the actors in Band of Brothers vs. the IRL figures they are portraying.
Background: Did I need to do this? No. Did anyone ask for this? Also no. Did I do it anyway? Yes.
Disclaimers: This is SUPER approximate for the most part. I based IRL ages off of D-Day unless otherwise noted, and actor ages off of January 1, 2000, the year filming took place (the latter is where the most variation will be because I didn't try to figure out what month filming started). I also didn't fact-check birthdays beyond googling. Most are sourced from the Band of Brothers and Military Wikis on fandom.com, Wikipedia, and IMDb.
I broke them up into rough categories, which are, again, approximate. I know I often forget how young the real life people were here, and this was a good reminder of that. I also found it interesting to see which actors were actually younger than their roles!
Check it all out under the cut ⬇️

Kiss Me in Komorebi+ 🌸
[Episode One] First Impressions.
We end the night by sharing a Dessert Course, full of local fare and Simstagram-worthy snacks, with House Three!
What a way to end a whirlwind of a night! The relaxed and sociable atmosphere that our contestants of House Three carried through their tea and sweets was a blessing to our tuckered-out Bachelor, who thoroughly enjoyed their company! Looks like there might be one sim he wants to know a little better, though... 👀
[ Part 1/3 ]
more gameplay info about the night under the cut! | @softietrait @2013trait @wormsimblr @julietisufferingwiththeuser @hauntedtrait @wastelandwhisperer @gothoffspring
this was such a fun group to watch interact! you can see that jiro was a surprising highlight of the night, constantly standing up to keep his fellow contestants entertained! (which was equally hilarious because everyone besides dan became bored with their conversations at some point)
absolutely none of them wanted to sit down, but they all were autonomously clustering into little chat groups all night, it was adorable!
nolan and jiro are already at 35 points of friendship?? they vibed really well together, and nolan loved all of jiro's mixology practice!
zayden and adrian would not let anyone else sit next to dan. he kept bouncing back and forth interacting with them, it was as though zayden would ask a question, dan would answer, and then adrian would ask him something! man's got a kink in his neck now y'all
jasper kept entertaining the group with "outrageous stories" that had them all laughing!
francis kept getting overwhelmed by the amount of people in the room (he developed the "fear of crowded spaces" quirk during gameplay, poor baby) but suraj kept comforting him
suraj discovered he "likes complaints" which i am manifesting as him being a Listener(tm) dkhffdkhd
i want to ground them all from those god damn future cubes, they ALL brought one out at some point during the night jkfhdf we love a social adapter!
i cannot believe we got here, folks. looking at this last group of contestants sitting here, enjoying each other's company, knowing that the group dates and first real rose ceremony is coming up next... fkdhfjsdkjfh
i'm already so attached to all of them okay idk how i'm gonna FUNCTION

Some notes: So at the end of July I was off film and off tumblr and not sure if I'd be back but I guess now I am, to some extent at least. The very start of this list is a bit innacurate. I probably watched a few more films than I've listed and maybe in a different order but from Gothic onwards it's correct - not that it really matters! I really must try to get back into having a themed Halloween watch list, which I haven't done since the japanese one in 2019, it's more fun. Am I doing Noirvember? I don't know.
