This was difficult to digitally polish because it ended up looking like it was made with graphite, but this is 100% just ink wash. The actual art is much softer in real life, but I wanted it to have a more aggressive appearance for the edited version.

As for a design update, I’m going to be removing the sleeves from his unitard, although I preferred it visually, it also contributes to his character story as well.

I was looking at photos of Freddie Mercury from the Hyde Park concert back in 76 and I liked the way the sleeveless unitard looked. It’s also easier to draw (diamond patterns are difficult to get right for the orange and green combo).

I had a lot of fun working on this piece, and I’m very pleased with how it turned out! I’m considering doing more ink wash art in the future.

Edit: the parts that seem to be “lighter” on where his fur is look that way from the paper warping while I was inking it.

I was looking at some stuff and found that sketch of Angus when hes possessed, signing. Based on freddy a famous photo of mercury.

Asmodeus realy like the show man aspect of it. He loves the scene and the attention. On this they are close enough that when signing, it feels like they are the same. A moment so close they both feel the emotions, both vibrating on the same frequency.

Thats what i like to imagine 💜

Ezra is known for being a huge Queen nerd (of course he is, he's queer--), it's his favorite band and he knows most of the songs by heart.

That's kinda why Killer Queen will be his pseudonym during his corruption arc btw, but that's out topic-

I can perfectly picture him randomly singing and dancing to Somebody to Love when he's having good days... And then comes his sooooft old-fashioned lover boyfriend Arthur who has an infinite amount of love to give ! Come take some it's free !

He's honestly the best person Ezra could find to share his troubled life... ❤️

Oh and I don't know if these two will live together at some point or if it's just in the bell tower, but OF COURSE they framed photographs of their daughter Ruby and brother/best friend Aloïs in their living room 😭

a couple vignettes from Chandraneel’s backstory

- how he became a college of swords bard

1) him at age 10 hiding in a tall place after being yelled at by his tutors for his failures in his studies. Learning and magic never came easy to him. He knows if his older step-brothers see him cry they’ll bully him even worse so he hides until his twin sister finds him and cheers him up.

2) Chandraneel at around age 13 training with his master, Shantanu. He was the first man in Chandraneel’s life to take an interest in him. Shantanu taught him to channel magic through his swords and encouraged him to keep a journal for writing down his lyrics.
