My mother wanted to be a mother. It was her dream to be a mother. She poured all her energy into being a Good Christian Mother.

She did not want me. She wanted motherhood. I was a side effect of her dream. Once I was old enough to disagree with her, she hated me. I wasn't making her look like a Good Christian Mother. I was loud, disobedient, needy... almost like a child. Not quiet and pretty and grateful for crumbs.

Yes, she birthed me. For herself and her partner. For the people who were already born. Not for me. As all mothers have for all of time. It's not the birthing that makes a mother worth honoring, it's the parenting.

While I do get the whole "sky daddy is bullshit" thing & agree that the christian god can't be real, I remember being on the cusp of escape and how that felt to hear - it was just being called stupid.

I don't really like saying "I fully quit when I realized it was all fake bullshit" to people who are leaving.

It's not the only "real" reason why people should leave.

People should leave because christianity causes & worships pain and suffering.

People should leave because it warps their perception of the world to include ideas like "genocide is ok when god does / commands it" and "self sacrifice is the ultimate form of love" and "people who don't agree with me are going to suffer because they disagree."

People should leave because of the harm christians are causing via regressive political & social policies; enforcing their beliefs on everyone else.

People should leave because it's embarrassing to be associated with christians, and horrifying to support their worst actors.

People should leave to recognize the urgency of helping others and the planet we live on, because this life is not a trial run and there won't be a big reset.

People should leave because the worship relationship demanded by their god looks just like an abusive relationship.

People should leave because they're tired of always serving and putting themselves last.

People should leave because they're tired of being told how sinful they are.

People should leave because they're tired of devoting their Sunday mornings to something emotionally draining.

People should leave because, frankly, they're not sure they ever believed in all this and they're tired of pretending.

People should leave because they've found a bunch of contradictions and they're tired of trying to make them make sense.

People should leave because churchgoers prefer evangelizing to tipping.

And yes, people should leave when they look at the historical facts and realize there's no way any of the things they've been taught happened the way they're described, and if the bible is taught as inerrant and it is errant - what else is a lie?

There's thousands of good reasons to leave.

The mental effects of competing against Sir Lewis Hamilton should be studied. From Alonso in Monaco this year and his recent comments, to Nico’s constant comments on Sky, to Verstappen literaly admiting today that he crashed into Lewis on purpose to prevent him from winning… a man that is 5th in the standings, and is in no way a threat to him. Really somebody get these men profesional help bc their respective championship fights with Lewis have been over for years now and they still wake up in cold sweat screaming his name.
