MASK UP FOR GLOBAL LIBERATION
Protect your community by wearing N95s and KN95s when meeting indoors or in crowds! The more of us mask up, the less we get sick, the harder it is for police to surveil us, and the safer we make our shared spaces for our disabled and immuno-compromised comrades and loved ones.
Get started by finding local mask resources on the global COVID Action Map (you can also submit groups to be added). If you have the means, donate masks and tests to your local orgs and encourage accessibility so we can ALL join the fight (bringing in interpreters/translators and medics, ensuring accessibility for wheelchairs/mobility devices, offering child care, filtering the air indoors, setting up virtual options etc).
UPDATE: Download this 8.5"x11" poster for free on itch.io to print and distribute! Includes files suitable for color, black and white, and risograph printing. Any donations will go to printing costs, or buying masks for my local mutual aid groups.
Pandemics have no borders, and all our struggles are united!

For those who need context since the genocide in Congo isn't well-known: Congo supplies minerals used in many electronics in the west, and is hugely exploited including child labour

Be loud!!! Be annoying!!!
Never apologize for speaking up against injustice! Never back down!
KEEP SPEAKING ABOUT THE PALESTINIAN GENOCIDE
KEEP TALKING ABOUT THE CONGO GENOCIDE
KEEP TALKING ABOUT THE SUDANESE GENOCIDE
We the people of the world will fight until the very end, until every single person can return to grieve and rebuild what has been ripped from them! Until the very end!
We hear the cries of the innocent and we will cry with you! We will scream until our voices give out, and then some more still! We will never stop fighting, for our love of justice and human rights is whole and unconditional
We will never back down and never forget the cruel injustice of the world
We will never, ever forget those who stood by and watched silently!
Silence is complicity and escapism is a privilege!

Article about gang rape in the DRC.
Tumblr media
💔
Please don’t forget about women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, one of the worst places for gang rape in the world right now.

American politicians after seeing suicide rates skyrocket from KOSA passing: "See? Those people are weak and will never live up to the American dream. They deserve to die. Those kids will now be safer because of those plagued queer people dying-"
Don't you ever think that it's your fault this place is becoming less free because you let it become less free? I thought America was all about freedom, yet you dare violate your own over-200-year-old rules just to tell people who switched genders to go kill themselves.
You're slowly becoming the thing your ancestors vowed to never become: fascist, controlling, and willing to watch your country die. You'll slowly fall into an anarchist state, and it is both beautiful and melancholic. Everyone will want to commit treason for actions you could've prevented.
Instead of thinking about the children, think about the actual weak ones like the homeless, Palestine, Sudan, the Congo, and much more instead of severing bonds with your people. Yet you keep doing this bullshit because you think you're the best country. You think America would be praised for aiding Israel in genocide, bombing Yemen, and telling queer people and people who need mental health to go fuck themself. Yet we all know the truth.
Every dream is eventually rotten with lies, evil, and darkness, and America was one of those dreams. And it'll be so fucking satisfying to see this country finally dissolve into a lost piece of history as it's steady downfall finally bites them in the ass.

I know the Disability Day of Mourning traditionally commemorates disabled people murdered by their parents and/or caregivers, but I wanted to take a moment to also commemorate the disabled lives lost during the genocides taking place in Palestine, the DRC, Sudan, and across the globe (including in the US). There are many ways for a system to perpetuate ableist violence and we must struggle as a community against all of them.
May the disabled souls taken from us rest in peace, every single one, and may the members of the disabled community currently fighting for their lives and the lives of their loved ones receive the support and safety they deserve.
If you have a bit to spare, please consider donating to Crips for eSims for Gaza and supporting their vital work.

i forgot how much i MISSED PROTESTING until attending this earth day rally and protest with the sunrise movement. it was so incredible and empowering. during the rally, we discussed the way climate change disproportionately affects people in poverty while the billionaires get richer by polluting the earth. we talked about how we needed to transition to renewable and recyclable materials as soon as possible. and one of the speakers at the rally was a palestinian activist who spoke about israel’s detrimental impact on the environment. i held my sign up as high as i could for as long as i could. i usually keep it right there in my car, so it’s almost like i’m protesting everywhere i go. i just wish i had better handwriting.
Tumblr media
we took to the streets and shut ‘em down!! we demanded better, cleaner public transportation because cars are so polluting. we demanded accountability and action from our government. and we demanded an end to the genocides in palestine and the congo. some of the people on the sidewalks cheered, some of them filmed us or took photos, some of them laughed at us, some of them got mad at us. i didn’t even care. i had the biggest smile on my face the entire time, as we chanted, “mayor lucas, you can’t hide, we can see your greedy side!” “this planet is not for profit, so biden get the hell off of it!” “from the river to the sea palestine will be free!” “if the congo is under attack, what do we do?! fight back!” then when we got to the apple store we stopped and the leader with the megaphone gave a speech about the company’s use of child slavery and their polluting practices.
i hadn’t protested in such a long time because of my mental health struggles but now that i’ve got a new medication (as in one that is actually effective) i’m finally ABLE to get engaged in the community again. it was euphoric. it was an incredible privilege to be out there today. i am so excited for all the future demonstrations i’ll be attending!! i only wish i had the guts to ask some of them to sign my petition to for kc apartments to have recycling options. but at least i’ll get another chance ☺️

Yeah being desensitized to images of death and famine isn’t something you should be proud of. You should be ashamed that the loss of a life has lost its respect and sacredness in your mind. If death doesn’t bother you, you’ve lost your humanity. Don’t think you’re above the conditions in Gaza nor Sudan nor the Congo

@sincerelysparrow_ on TikTok made this informative video about Patrice Lumumba, the former prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Knowing the context of the past is important for understanding the current genocide in the Congo.
Educate yourself. Donate to Congolese causes if you can (not everyone can afford to do this). Don't buy a new phone, laptop, television, or electric car if you do not need one. If you do, get one that is refurbished. These products come from the literal slave labor of the Congolese people, and the money produced goes to military groups that kill millions of people in the Congo.
The last thing? Continue to speak out.
