Ngl, my biggest annoyance with the Jonthan vs. Mike and Hopper vs. Mike stuff is that Mike is pacified as if he wouldn't drag them to Timbuktu

One of my Straw Hat headcanons is that when the crew learns about how Luffy got his scar under his eye, they all immediately revaluate their impression of Shanks like the true mother hens they are.
Especially after the 2 year time skip, the crew treats Luffy like the treasure he is to them, and when he eventually starts talking about his childhood, it's one of the first stories to be told. They know, of course about how he was given the hat, but this story falls a little before.
"Your main form of supervision as a toddler -
"I was seven!"
"A toddler - was a highly questionable, often drunk or definitely hungover pirate captain who left you unsupervised with a knife?"
"There was Makino too!"
"And we acknowledge that Makino is a gift unto this world -"
"Damn Ussop, really pulling out the stops there."
"Quiet! But anyways, this explains so much."
"Emperor of the sea? So what, you're one too! We need to have a talk about how he chooses to care for children."
"Wait 'till I tell you all about Uta!"
"WHO?!"
Fast forward a few years and Shanks is very confused as to why Luffy's crew seems prickly towards him, and overall not that impressed. Why are they muttering when they see him? Why don't they leave Luffy alone with him? Why do they seem disappointed? Ben, on the other hand, is just thankful that someone finally gets it.

“Mihoyo learn that deifying you’re character and making them capable of no wrong actually makes them less interesting, not deeper” challenge. “Mihoyo stop shooting yourself in the foot” challenge
Seriously though, the sudden shift to the “umm, actually, all the moths were perfect and our girls are following in their footsteps” narrative is… so weird. I can excuse Elysia saying it because her thinking everyone in her close friend group is perfect is very on brand for her, but everyone backing it up? I’m a flame chaser enjoyer, but they fucked things up for themselves. They lost because they were divided and constantly at each other’s throats and couldn’t get their shit together until it was too late, I sure hope the girls aren’t following in their footsteps.
I just don’t get why they wouldn’t just stick with the “the flame chasers laid an incredibly important foundation for the future, but ultimately the current era needs to follow a different path” narrative they had up until this point. I also don’t get why’d they try and make Mei the only one carrying on their legacy when up until now, their legacy has been carried on by pretty much everyone in the story. Other than Fu Hua just you know… actually being a surviving flame chaser (which I would argue automatically makes her connection to them more important than Mei’s), you got Durandal carrying on Su’s legacy and passing his research on to Otto, Seele meeting the AU/memory Sakura, Void Archives, mantises, literally any character who uses a Devine Key…
I’d get it if they were just having Mei be grateful to them or have her truly learn about and appreciate everything they did for the world and how their sacrifices are what gave the current era a fighting chance, but the straight up deification…
Idk man. Senti, Seele, and Bronya are my favorite characters now because they are the only ones who completely survived the shredder

i had a dream that i made little cards that say "THEY!" on them that i handed out to people at work who got my pronouns wrong, immediately after they got it wrong. and in smaller text (or on the back) it said "i don't want an apology, i want you to do better" or "don't say you're sorry, DO BETTER" and ..... i kind of want to do it. maybe i'll get some moo cards made lmao
various scenarios included:
me slamming it down on a desk in front of them.
instead i had stickers, would slowly peel one off while they watched, and stick it on it on them.
handing out a quarter sheet piece of paper based on the 'i caught being good' tags we'd get in kindergarten which said 'i got caught misgendering hallie/my coworker'. it would have their name and date on it and a giant 🙁 face. i had them as a pad of paper and would hold up a finger to say 'wait a second', dramatically pull it out of my back pocket, take my pen out of another pocket, slowly fill it out in front of them, and hand it to them while staring them in the eyes.
getting a whiteboard for the outer side of my cubicle wall that said '[days] since i was misgendred' (with a bonus by saying 'last offender: [name]'
i also dreamt that i got into trouble for it because i was making people feel bad and was 'creating a hostile work environment'. i was just like.... okay and how do you think i feel? and my boss shut up real fuckin quick. dunno if that would be the case irl but if that does happen i can only dream.
