You watched as people entered and exited the gas station store, most not bothering to buy anything, which wasn't surprising. Most customers were passing through town on their way to someplace else, only stopping here to get some gas and pass some time by looking at the limited collection of snacks and essential items in the store. Usually, there would only be a handful of customers, many of whom lived in the town, but thanks to the beginning of summer, it felt like millions of people were coming and going.
The beginning of summer was always terrible to deal with. Especially with how many people would drive through your sleepy little town on their way to a summer vacation. What's worse is that the people who went to college were moving back in to live at home. Which unfortunately meant most of the people in your high school graduation class would be back in town. How wonderful. The only two you wanted to see were your friends Poppy and Tyler. Hopefully, you can avoid interactions with the other people in your graduating class.
A smile spread across your face as you thought about your friends. It felt like years since you talked to them face to face. Excitement bubbled to the surface as you thought about your summer plans with them, even if they weren't exceptionally grand. The three of you had decided to stay at a lovely Airbnb not too far from town but far enough away that people wouldn’t bother you and your friends. The house had originally been the home of a farmer, but after his death a couple years back, it was bought and renovated. Just remembering the pictures on the website had you nearly bouncing on the balls of your feet.
The snapping of fingers pulled you out of your thoughts. "Hello? Anyone home?" asked a guy who looked around your age.
"H-huh? Oh, yeah!" you said while straightening your posture. "What can I do for you?"
The guy chuckled and smiled wide, waving a hand a bit dismissively. "Hey, no need to get so flustered. Just want to buy these lighters," he said while placing at least five packs of pocket lighters on the counter.
Your eyes widened, and your jaw dropped at the amount of lighters he was buying. You heard the guy chuckle in response to your reaction, making you flush in embarrassment for gawking. Quickly, you began scanning the items for him to check out to move on from your embarrassing moment.
"That's a lot of lighters... Any reason you're getting so many?" you asked without looking at him.
"I tend to go through lighters fast, that's all," he simply explained. "My name is Ace, by the way, Portgas D Ace."
You raised an eyebrow while glancing at Ace. "Um... nice to meet you, Ace," you said while looking back at the register.
You thought it was weird that he introduced himself. You didn’t recognize him, so you assumed he was just passing through. Maybe he was just overly friendly? You weren’t sure.
Once you finished scanning the items, you quickly told Ace the cost of all the pocket lighters he was buying, and he tapped his card against the card reader. After seeing the payment go through, you put the lighters into a bag while the receipt printed out. The entire time, you could feel Ace drilling holes into you with his eyes.
"Here's your bag. The receipt is inside," you told Ace while handing him the plastic bag.
You expected him to leave now, more like hope, and when he didn't, you internally panicked. He leaned against the counter, eyebrow raised like he was waiting for something. An awkward silence settled between you two, and then your brain decided to take in his appearance.
At first glance, the most notable part of his appearance was the freckles on his face. He wore his button-up open instead of closed to show his chest and-- holy heck, those are some nice abs and a nice waist. You quickly blinked a few times to get your thoughts straight before looking back up at his face. You hated to admit it; that’s a lie, but he was handsome.
"Is... there something else you need?" you asked hesitantly.
"Aren't you going to tell me your name?" he asked, not missing a beat.
"H-huh? My name?" you questioned, visibly confused, while he only smiled again.
"Yeah! I told you my name; now tell me your name," he explained like that was supposed to be obvious.
"Oh... Why do you want to know my name?" you asked, still confused. "It's not like we'll ever see each other again."
For a moment, you saw something flicker across his face. It was an emotion too quick for you to identify, but it still had a chill running down your spine. A dry laugh fell from his lips as he slowly grinned, albeit more menacing now.
"Just humor me, will ya? You never know when you might meet someone again," Ace chuckled.
Something inside you forced you to hesitate. Your throat suddenly felt dry, and your hands clammy. Warning bells were going off in your head as your hair stood on end from how suddenly his temperament shifted. You hoped that your minor freak out would go unnoticed by him. Still, despite the freaking out, you swallowed hard and nodded in understanding.
"Right... My name is y/n l/n," you told him.
Suddenly, Ace's face brightened, and he laughed happily like he hadn't scared the living daylights out of you. He patted your head and ruffled your hair before sliding his hand into his pocket.
"Nice to meet you, y/n! Can't wait to see you again!" he said gleefully with a wave before walking out of the gas station store.

"Holy shit, are you sure you’re okay? That guy sounds like a total nutjob!" your friend Tyler said, a worried frown on his face.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m okay now,” you said to calm him down.
You sighed and leaned against the park bench, tilting your head back to look at the sky. It was later in the day now, and thankfully, Poppy and Tyler had arrived back in town just in time to hang out with you after work. The three of you had decided to get some ice cream before hanging out at the town park. You explained to your friends the weird interaction you had with that Ace guy during your shift, and, unsurprisingly, Tyler was worried, and Poppy was asking questions.
"Well, was he at least hot?" Poppy asked with a sly smile on her face.
“Poppy! Are you serious right now?” Tyler asked, looking at his friend with a scowl.
Poppy shrugged dismissively and licked her popsicle, “What? If a guy is going to be creepy, they should at least be hot.”
“That is a terrible mindset!”
Hearing that had you burst out in laughter, much to Tyler’s distraught, then you began sucking on the tip of your popsicle. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. “Can you two please be serious about this? That guy could be a serial killer for all we know!”
Poppy raised an eyebrow and stopped sucking on her popsicle. She moved her sunglasses down slightly to look at Tyler. “Ty, you're overreacting, like always. A serial killer in a little town like ours? That would be too cliche,” she said before readjusting her sunglasses.
“But-” Tyler tried to argue, but Poppy shut him down.
“I’m not here to talk about weird people y/n meets at work; I’m here to talk about how things will work with Airbnb. I mean, come on, people, we’re literally leaving tomorrow,” Poppy said before sucking her popsicle into her mouth.
Your eyes immediately lit up in excitement at the mention of the Airbnb. You pulled your popsicle out of your mouth with a satisfying pop and grinned. “Yes! I’ve been counting down the days to our little vacation since we decided on a date!” you exclaimed, giggling excitedly.
“But first, you need to answer my question from earlier,” Poppy suddenly said after biting her popsicle, causing you and Tyler to groan in annoyance.

After talking with your friends about the plans for the Airbnb trip, you all headed back to your homes to get ready to leave. You were giddy and restless the entire drive home, wanting nothing more than to finish preparing everything for the trip in a few days. Neither of your parents' cars were in the driveway when you reached your house, but you still decided to park on the curb. Turning off the car, you left to head inside but stopped when you noticed a moving truck in the neighbor's driveway. Your eyes widened in surprise, and you walked over to see who was moving into the house. It’d been empty for years, and you’re surprised someone actually bought it. You remember your parents talking about how the house price was ridiculously high. The garage door was open, and you could hear voices inside.
“Luffy, I swear to god, stop trying to help! You’re just dropping everything!” shouted a voice inside the garage.
“Huh? I’m not dropping things!” shouted another, much younger voice.
Soon after, you heard a loud crash, making your face pale, and dash to the garage entrance. Inside, you found a trio of boys moving boxes inside the house, one of whom you recognized as the guy you met this morning at the gas station. A semi-crushed box was at the feet of a boy wearing a straw hat, and a blonde guy with a scar on the left side of his face was coming into the garage from the house entrance.
You pressed your lips together and awkwardly glanced at the three guys. Internally, you were panicking since one of them was that Ace guy. You were about to say something, but the boy with the straw hat was the first person to speak.
“Oh, hi! My name is Monkey D Luffy! Nice to meet ya!” he exclaimed, greeting you with the biggest and purest smile you’ve ever seen.
You stare at Luffy in complete disbelief at how easily he forgot about the box he’d dropped on the floor. Ace lightly hit Luffy upside the head with a scowl on his face. “This is why I told you not to help! You broke whatever was in this box!” he exclaimed while gesturing to the box at Luffy’s feet.
“Oh yeah, guess I did. Whoops,” Luffy said while still grinning as he scratched the back of his head.
The blonde guy sighed and shook his head while stepping into the garage. “Sorry about them. Is there something we can help you with?” he asked with a kind smile.
“O-oh, um,” you began, “I live next door with my family and just got home. I noticed the moving truck, so I came to see who was moving in; then, I heard a crashing sound and thought someone might be hurt... you know the rest.”
The blonde guy nodded in understanding, placing a hand on his chin. “I see. Well, we were planning on introducing ourselves to you and your family along with our other neighbors, so now's as good a time as any,” he explained with a charming smile. “And thank you for your concern; it honestly means a lot.”
During the entire conversation, you could feel Ace’s gaze burning holes into you like earlier, seeming to completely forget about Luffy for a moment. You swallowed hard, tried to ignore his gaze, and stayed focused on the blonde guy.
“Of course. It would suck if one of you got hurt after just moving here,” you said with a small laugh to try to ease the tension you felt. “My name is y/n l/n, by the way.”
“A pleasure to meet you, y/n. My name is Sabo,” he said, gently taking hold of your hand and lifting it to kiss your knuckles.
A bright red blush bloomed on your face from the gesture; all you could do was nod while looking away. Sabo laughed softly while lowering your hand from his lips. “I didn’t expect you to become so flustered,” he said with another small laugh. “Luffy already introduced himself, but this is-”
“Oh hey! Nice to see you again!” Ace suddenly butted into the conversation, moving himself between you and Sabo, making the blonde let go of your hand. You immediately stepped back, looking up at him with a forced smile.
“Y-yeah. Good to see you again,” you responded with a nervous laugh.
Sabo’s eyes widened, and he stepped back, then laughed awkwardly while folding his arms. “So you two have met each other?” he asked, seeming almost disappointed.
“Yep!” Ace answered before you could open your mouth. He turned on his heel and moved to stand right next to you. “I met her when going to the gas station this morning. She works there as a cashier. Though I did recognize her since I saw her leave the house next door really early this morning.”
“Wait, what?!” you exclaimed while scowling. “You already knew we were neighbors? Is that why you introduced yourself? You could have, oh, I don’t know, told me that instead of letting me think you were some creep passing through town!”
Ace grinned down at you and laughed joyfully, his aggression toward Sabo seemingly forgotten. “Whoa, whoa! Sorry! I didn’t think you’d freak out so much from someone being friendly!” he said playfully.
“I do when someone is being so pushy about knowing my name!” you retorted, which made him laugh more, much to your dismay.
“Ace,” Sabo suddenly said, his eyes narrowed as he frowned. “... Why did you go to the gas station this morning? We filled the car with gas when we arrived last night.”
Ace's playfulness instantly disappeared when Sabo questioned why he went to the gas station. Ace laughed while waving a hand dismissively. “That’s… not important right now!” he said, placing his hands on your shoulders, pushing you forward a little. “Let’s focus on the fact we have such a kind and cute girl as our neighbor!”
Sabo didn’t stop looking at Ace with narrowed eyes. He turned his gaze to you, a somber expression on his face. “You work at the gas station, right? What did Ace buy?” he questioned.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, looking back and forth between Sabo and Ace. “Um… He bought a bunch of pocket lighters. Is that a problem?” you answered, then asked in confusion.
You saw Sabo’s jaw visibly clench as he sighed through his nose. He slowly shook his head, the expression on his face showing disappointment as he stared at Ace. You looked at Ace to see him looking away and whistling like Sabo wasn’t giving him a death glare. You pressed your lips together and tried to ignore the tense air between the two guys.
“So… should I go, or…?” you asked while stepping back.
You flinched a little when both Sabo and Ace answered simultaneously, the former saying yes and the latter saying no. You laughed nervously and took a few more steps back while pointing behind you with your thumbs.
“I-I think I’ll come visit you all later with my parents so we can all officially introduce each other. Because we’re neighbors and stuff,” you explained quickly, saying anything that came to mind to get away from the tension between Sabo and Ace. Before either of them could respond, you turned away and rushed back to and inside your house.
Tumblr media
When your parents got home later that day, you told them about meeting the new neighbors next door. However, you left out the part where Sabo got upset with Ace about getting pocket lighters. You figured it would be better for you to forget that ever happened. Now, you were in your room checking over everything you had packed for the trip with your friends.
Music was blasting through your headphones, and you hummed along to the beat while looking through the clothes you had picked out. Deep down, you knew you didn't need to put this much effort into getting ready, especially since the Airbnb was an hour's drive from town, but you were just so excited to hang out with your friends for a whole week! Just thinking about hanging out with your friends with no one else around made you smile.
A sudden movement in the corner of your eye from your window had you yelping and turning to see what had moved. When you saw nothing, you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion and hesitantly walked to the window to look outside. Your face paled slightly when you noticed that your neighbor's window was across from your window, and you saw Ace leaning out the window with a big grin. He said something, but you couldn't hear him with the window closed and your headphones on. Hesitantly, you paused your music and removed your headphones before opening your window.
"Um… hi?" you said with a slight wave.
"Hey! How are you?" he asked, a grin still on his face.
You frown and lean against the window ledge. "Good… How are you?" you asked, not sure what Ace wanted.
Ace sighed and shrugged while placing his chin on the palm of his hand. "Could be better. After you left, Sabo lectured me about a bunch of stuff, but I honestly didn't listen to most of what he said," he responded, then chuckled softly.
"Oh. I'm sorry, that doesn't sound too great…" you said with a slight frown.
Ace just smiled and chuckled. "Don't apologize. I should be the one apologizing. You shouldn't have seen me and my brothers like that. You seemed uncomfortable."
Your eyes widened in surprise, and you quickly shook your head while waving your hands. "No, don't apologize! I didn't want to intrude on your family business!" you explained, then paused. "Wait, you three are brothers?"
Ace hummed with a nod. "Yep! Not by blood, of course, but we're still brothers," he answered.
"Huh…" you mumble. "I thought you three were roommates."
Ace chuckled and straightened his posture while leaning out the window slightly more. "Yeah, we get told that a lot," he said. "That, and most people think Luffy and I are blood-related since we look so similar."
"I did think that too, actually. Sorry…" you admitted sheepishly.
Ace laughed softly and waved his hand dismissively. "You don't need to apologize. People make assumptions about people all the time; I know that better than most," he said and explained calmly, but you could see a sort of bitter sadness in his eyes.
"But enough about me, what are you doing?" he asked while peeking over your shoulder.
You quickly moved to hide your room from his gaze. A small, awkward laugh forced its way out of your lungs. "I'm just finishing up some packing for a trip I'm going on with my friends, haha…" you explained and hoped that satisfied his curiosity.
"Oh yeah? Where are you going?" he asked, genuinely interested.
You swallow hard and quickly glance back into your room. It wouldn't hurt to tell Ace, right? He somewhat redeemed himself from this morning when he told you he already knew you two were neighbors. Plus, he even apologized just now for having to see him and his brother argue. Now that you knew him a little, he didn't seem that bad.
"We're going to stay at an Airbnb for a week. It's about an hour's drive away from town," you answer, albeit hesitantly.
Ace stared at you for a couple of seconds before starting to laugh. "That doesn't sound like much of a trip to me," he commented.
Your face turned bright red, and you scowled. "What?! It's definitely a trip! You wouldn't be saying that if you saw how pretty this place looks!" you argued, which only made him laugh more.
"Really? Then why don't you show me, Firecracker?" he teased with a shit-eating grin.
Without a second thought, you stepped away from your window to pull your computer from where you packed it. You were grumbling under your breath weak insults about Ace as you pulled up the website. Once you had it up, you walked back to the window to show him the screen.
"See! This place is definitely worthy of a trip!" you said with a grin.
"Well, I can't see anything with you scrolling through the webpage so fast," he said, trying and failing to hide his laughter. "Why don't you come into my room so I can look at it properly."
"Huh?" you said, and your eyes widened. "Wait, you mean, like, come over to your house?"
"No, I mean climb over to my window. Hand me your computer first, then I'll help you over," Ace explained, leaning out the window more with his arms outstretched.
You quickly shook your head while backing away from your window. "I am not doing that," you say with a nervous laugh.
Ace pouted and let his arms drop. "Aw, come on! I promise I won't let you or your computer fall, okay?"
You swallowed hard, taking a moment to decide if you trusted him enough to pull you over to his room and be in his room. You knew it was a bad idea, a terrible idea even, but the need to prove him wrong about the trip with your friends outweighed your rational thinking.
"Fine," you eventually grumble while returning to the window. A wide smile spread across Ace's face as he lifted his arms again. "But I'll kick your ass if you drop my computer or me."
"Fair enough," he laughed.
Hesitantly, you stretched out your arms to give him your computer, and you could feel your heart pounding against your ribs when you let go of your computer. Your heart nearly stopped when he jokingly acted like he would drop your laptop. A scowl formed on your face as you glared at Ace, but he just laughed while pulling your computer into his room.
"Alright, now your turn," he said once he had his arms outstretched again.
"R-right…" you mumbled while nervously reaching out your arms for him to grab.
His touch was warm, much warmer than you expected. You tensed up as you felt his hands grip your forearms. He smiled at you before quickly yanking on your arms to pull you over to his room. A short scream ripped from your throat, and you crashed into Ace, making you both fall onto his bedroom floor. You groaned and rolled off of him to lay next to him on the floor.
"That was awesome," Ace said, turning his head to look at you with a giant grin.
"That was the opposite of awesome," you scowled.
After a moment, you sat up and went to his bed to grab your computer. You glanced around his room to see many fire-patterned things, even though most had just been pulled out of boxes. Even his bed's blanket had a flame pattern. You returned to Ace and sat beside him while your computer turned on. He sat up with a slight groan and placed his hands in his lap. You glanced at him, noticing how he was drilling holes into you again.
"Why do you keep looking at me like that?" you asked while logging into your computer.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" he asked with an awkward laugh.
You rolled your eyes and shook your head in disbelief. "You keep staring at me, and it's honestly kind of unnerving."
"Oh shit, really?" he asked, seeming to genuinely feel guilty. "You're just so pretty I can't take my eyes off you.
You tensed up for a second and looked at Ace. You narrowed your eyes at him, trying to see if he was lying or messing with you. "... Thanks," you eventually responded, focusing back on your computer as a light blush appeared on your face.
"Aww, Firecracker is embarrassed," he sang while poking your cheek.
"No, I'm not! Now look at the Airbnb," you quickly said while turning your computer a little so he could see the screen.
Ace hummed softly as he looked through the pictures of the Airbnb farmhouse. A small smile appeared on his face as he looked at you. "I guess it looks like a nice place," he said.
"What do you mean 'I guess'? It's a stunning place!" you argued, then sighed and closed the computer before putting it aside. "By the way… What's with all the fire and flame in your room?"
Ace's eyes lit up, and a genuinely happy smile appeared. "I've always liked fire. Just looking at it soothes me and makes me feel whole. I go through lighters fast because I sit and watch the fire," he explained before standing up and walking over to one of the boxes in the room.
"So that's why you bought all those lighters?" you asked.
"Yep!" he answered while digging through a moving box. "Sabo calls it an addiction and says I should stop wasting lighters just to stare at the fire, but when I'm stressed, I can't help myself from lighting one."
You slowly nod, not fully understanding, but you still kind of get it. "Yeah, I guess fire can be pretty to look at sometimes," you agreed.
"More like all the time," he said with a chuckle while pulling out a lighter. "This here is my favorite lighter. A friend gave it to me a long time ago, and every time I light it, it looks like the fire is alive."
Ace quickly came back over to you and sat down next to you. He carefully handed you a bright orange lighter with red circles wrapping around just under the lighter's lid. On one side was a blue smiley face, grinning, and on the other was a similar smiley face but frowning instead of grinning. You could tell it was old, with some paint chipping at the edges, but it looked pristine.
"Wow…" you mumbled while handing it back to Ace. "It suits you."
"Thanks," Ace said with a slight chuckle. He flipped the lid open and ignited the lighter to create a small fire.
You and Ace sat together for a while; you weren't sure how long. You just stared at the fire created by the lighter. He was right when he said the fire looked like it was alive. The flame danced and flicked constantly like it would go out, but it never did. Eventually, you glanced at Ace's face to see him intently staring at the fire, almost like he was jealous of how it burned.
The moment ended when someone knocked on Ace's bedroom door. You and Ace flinched in surprise, and he closed the lighter before standing up.
"Ace! Sabo said we had to wait for you before eating, but I'm huuuuuungrrrrry!" whined Luffy as he kept knocking on the door. "Come downstairs already!"
You scrambled to the window, strangely scared to get caught in Ace's room. Ace quickly began helping you climb out his window and back to your room.
"How am I supposed to get back over?" you whispered to Ace. "I know this was a bad idea; I shouldn't have listened to you!"
"Yeah, well, too late for that," he whispered back. "Okay, I'm going to hold you by the waist and stretch you out the window so you can grab hold of the window ledge. Got it? Okay, let's go"
"Wait, no, I don't get it-" you tried to say, but he was already pushing you out the window.
You squeaked, quickly reached the window ledge, and grabbed it as tightly as possible. Much to your dismay, you slowly began pulling yourself through your window and back into your bedroom. You heard a door opening behind you, and suddenly, you were pushed inside your room and fell onto the floor.
"Ow…" you mumbled while slowly getting up.
You looked back at the window to Ace's room, seeing it was now closed and the curtains pulled together. A slight frown appeared, and you sighed before closing your window and the curtains.

The following day, you woke up bright and early, excited to meet up with your friends before heading to the Airbnb. The three of you planned to only use one car to save gas because you didn't see a reason for having three cars when you’d be staying at Airbnb the whole time.
You put your suitcase and all your bags into the trunk of your car and said goodbye to your parents before getting in to pick up your friends. Tyler didn’t have much luggage to put in the car, but Poppy practically filled the back with all her bags. Most of it was her health care products and other things she used to care for her skin.
Once everything was squished into the car, you and your friends headed to the Airbnb. The drive there was full of karaoke and excited talk about the plans to be lazy for the next week. The drive felt short as soon as you pulled up to the farmhouse. It was huge, and surrounding it were fields with no other buildings in the distance. It's the perfect place to forget about the rest of the world for a while.
You parked the car, and then you and your friends exited the vehicle. You quickly bring in all the suitcases, not bothering to unpack yet as you explore the farmhouse. The three of you went through each room slowly, taking your time to enjoy the house's atmosphere, and before you knew it, the sky had already grown dark.
Now that it was night, you and your friends began to work on unpacking the things you will need immediately tonight and for tomorrow morning. However, as you pulled items out of your suitcase, you realized something was missing.
“Oh crap,” you mumbled while pulling everything out of your suitcase.
Tyler looked over at you and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “What’s wrong, y/n?” he asked, worried.
“I think I forgot my computer at home,” you quickly say while looking up at your friend with panic.
“How did you forget your computer?” Poppy asked in a mixture of disbelief and annoyance. “I thought you were all packed up days ago!”
“I-I was! Maybe I pulled it out to use it sometime? I-I don’t know, but I need to go get my computer!” you explain while standing up and grabbing the car keys.
Poppy quickly blocked your path as you walked to the front. She folded her arms and glared at you while shaking her head. “We all agreed not to leave the Airbnb unless it was an emergency. I don’t think not having your computer is that big of an emergency,” she frowned.
You groaned in frustration and shook your head. “Yes, it is! All the plans I had for this next week are there, plus the three of us can’t play video games together if I don’t have my computer! I swear I’ll be fast, and it’s late enough that most people won’t be on the roads. Please, Poppy, just let me go back to get my computer real fast,” you pleaded with your friend.
“I-I agree with y/n,” Tyler chimed in. “Besides, it wouldn’t hurt for her to head back. It’s our first day here, Poppy.”
Poppy glanced between you and Tyler a couple of times, the frown on her face becoming a scowl. “Fine. Go get your computer. I won’t be waiting up for you,” she scoffed before walking past you.
You frown at your friend, suddenly having a sinking feeling in your gut, but only nod and wave before you rush outside. You unlocked the car and got inside while reaching around the wheel to start the car. Once you were buckled in and the engine was on, you drove off into the night.
Tumblr media
When you were about halfway back to town, you remembered where you left your computer. It was in Ace’s room from when you showed him pictures of the Airbnb. You cursed under your breath, then sighed before turning the car around. It was late, and you didn’t want to bother your neighbor at this time of night. You knew Poppy would be pissed with you, but it’d be better to get it in the morning. A slight frown appeared as you thought about how much this might affect the rest of the trip. Poppy will probably be agitated for the next few days,
You saw the smoke and flames before reaching the farmhouse's driveway. Panic flooded your senses as you floored the gas pedal, hoping you could save your friends from a fiery death. Your mind reeled as you tried to imagine what could have caused a fire. Your friends could be dumb sometimes, sure, but not that dumb.
When the farmhouse came into view, you slammed on the brakes to slow down even though you knew you'd need to get a replacement. You scrambled out of the car when it came to a stop and went to rush inside. However, you stopped short upon seeing the outline of a person standing in front of the building.
You couldn’t tell who he was because of the mask he wore, but your body froze when you saw the lighter in his hand. He absentmindedly flicked it open and closed, sounding like nails on a chalkboard to your ears since you recognized the bright orange lighter. He had yet to notice you despite how loud your car probably was when you slammed on the brakes. He looked too focused on watching the flames destroying the farmhouse. Swallowing hard, you carefully and quietly began to approach him. You really, really hoped that you were wrong and that this freak just happened to have the same lighter as your new neighbor.
He stopped messing with the lighter as you got close enough to touch him. You immediately stopped moving, adrenaline pumping through your veins. He groaned in annoyance and rolled his neck to lean his head to the side.
"I swear to god, Luffy, don't fucking try to sneak up on-" he started talking, but you quickly pounced on him before he could finish.
He wasn't wearing a shirt, so it was hard for you to get any leverage while wrestling him on the ground. Though it didn't seem to matter from how easily he overpowered you, despite your best efforts. You were still kicking and fighting against him when he pinned you to the ground with his body weight. He didn't bother with pinning your arms down and instead focused on keeping your body under him.
"... Holy shit," he mumbled, grabbing you by the hair to pull your head back to look at your face.
The man who pinned you to the ground took off his mask and then threw it to the side. Tears welled up in your eyes at the sight of your new neighbor, Ace, hovering above you and staring down at you in what looked like disbelief. However, that didn't last long, as a grin soon split across his face.
"Holy fucking, shit," he laughed while moving down to have his nose touching yours. "I thought you were in the building with your friends… I should’ve guessed you were gone since I didn’t see a car when-"
"Go to hell!" you screamed at him, tears of frustration in your eyes as you kept trying to get out from under him.
Ace's eyes narrowed, and he glared down at you, a scowl quickly replacing the grin on his face. A scream tore from your throat as he yanked your hair, pulling out some strands. He forced your head to tilt back as he moved his mouth to your ear.
"Don't fucking interrupt me. I don't want to kill you but keep interrupting me, and I'll turn you into a charred corpse like your friends inside," he growled into your ear, practically kissing it with how close he was.
His threat made you tense up and stop struggling. A shiver ran down your spine from feeling how his scowl turned into a grin. "That's better," he hummed, lifting his head to look down at you.
You began trembling in fear as he stared down at you; a mixture of lust and obsession swirled in his eyes. There was also a spark in his eyes that was terrifyingly similar to the ones you'd see in the eyes of someone who just won the lottery. He tilted his head slightly to the side as he wrapped a hand around your neck, squeezing slightly.
"I thought it’d be easy to kill you, like Sabo said," he whispered, and you felt disgust form in your gut from how sensual his tone sounded. “Should’ve known the love of my life wouldn’t go down so easily.”
"The only reason I tried was because fucking Sabo said getting close to anyone would end badly. It was him who convinced me to kill you along with your friends," he continued, slowly sliding his hand down your neck to your body.
"Wha-" you began to say but quickly stopped when Ace glared down at you.
He sucked in some air and shivered, a light flush appearing on his freckled face. "Fuck you're so easy to scare into submission," he groaned while rutting his hips against you.
You screamed and thrashed under him, only to hear him laughing with genuine joy. You flinched when you felt his warm hand slip under your shirt. Shaking your head, you tried to push his arm away from under your shirt, but he didn't budge even a little bit.
"Even your screams are gorgeous," he sighed, leaning his forehead against yours.
"I've wanted to make you mine since the first time I saw you," he admitted with an almost shy grin. "Everything about you turns me on and makes me happy..." he continued, rutting his hips against you again, watching with a sick glee as more tears welled up in your eyes.
“Like that time a few days ago when you were at the park with your friends. I was so jealous of that popsicle you were eating. I couldn’t stop imagining that instead of a popsicle, you were sucking my cock. Swallowing my cum like a good girl,” he explained, his breathing heavy. “Or when you came into my room to hang out. God, I wanted to burn off your clothes so badly to feel your skin against mine.”
He slipped his hand under your bra and roughly cupped your left breast with his hand. He squeezed, making you cry out in pain, and slowly began to massage it. He bit his lower lip while looking you in the eyes, trying to keep his breathing steady. “That’s why Sabo wanted you dead,” he admitted like it was completely normal. “He said you would be a distraction from our work. He actually wanted to kill you himself since you were so cute, but there was no way in hell I’d let that happen. If someone was going to kill you, it was going to me. I saw you first, I met you first, you’re mine.”
If you didn’t think he was out of his mind before, you were sure of it now. You continued trying to push Ace away, but everything you did went completely unnoticed by him, and you swore he was actually turned on by how much you were struggling. What’s worse is that you could feel unwelcome arousal starting to boil in your core.
“You like me too, right?” he suddenly asked while swiping his thumb over your perky nipple, causing you to yelp and squirm. “You trusted me enough to pull you over into my room. Hell, you trusted me enough to come into my room.”
“I only went into your room to prove you wrong,” you hissed angrily. “How could I ever like the person who killed my two best friends? I fucking hate you, Ace.”
Ace froze and stopped moving. He stared down at you, his eyes widening and gaining a far-off look. He swallowed hard, making his adam's apple bounce. Suddenly, he tore your shirt and bra off while his breathing got heavier. A chill ran down your spine from the lukewarm air brushing against your skin. The gravely road rubbed against your back, making you whimper in pain while trying to push Ace away. He buried his face into your neck and aggressively kissed and nipped at your skin.
“You’re lying,” he hissed, letting go of your hair to grab your shoulders and pin you to the ground. “You do love me. You have to love me; there’s no way you don’t love me,” he continued, his voice cracking slightly with desperation.
You shook your head, grabbing the back of his head with his hair before trying to pull him away from your neck. “No, I don’t! I don’t love you! Maybe I liked you once for a second, but that was before you murdered my friends!” you screamed while tears started rolling down your face.
The reality of your friend’s deaths was slowly sinking into your thoughts, but you tried to push away the way you wanted to mourn your friends right now. Before you can do anything, you need to get away from Ace.
“SHUT UP!” Ace yelled, his voice frantic, mixed with anger and desperation. “I love you too much to let you not love me! You do love me! You will love me!”
Suddenly, he took a hand off your shoulder to move down and lift up your hips. He quickly began pulling off your pants and underwear, ignoring the screams and insults you threw at him. He tossed the last of your clothes behind him and wrapped your legs around his hips. A dry laugh came from him when he saw how some of your slick was staining his pants.
“You keep saying you don’t love me, but clearly you do since you seem to be enjoying how I’m treating you,” he said in a deep, rough tone. “Does my Firecracker have a filthy brain? Such a naughty girl… not that I’m complaining.”
You yelped and threw your head back as he thrust the bulge in his pants against your bare cunt and clit. He let out a deep, shaky sigh while leaning his head against your shoulder. “This wasn’t how I planned our first time together would be, but this is as good a place as any,” he mumbled, continuing to move his hips against you. “I wanted us to fuck in my room, make it all romantic while making you cum over and over. Then I’d fuck you properly and make you feel nice and full. Maybe we can still do that sometime, huh?”
“F-fuck you,” you hissed angrily, hating the way he dragged out the arousal deep inside you.
“I’d rather fuck you instead,” he whispered into your ear.
“I know I should help you get ready to take my cock, but fuck I can’t wait any longer,” he suddenly whispered while shifting a little to take off his pants.
Your eyes widened in panic, and you quickly shook your head and pounded your fists against his chest. He didn’t take his pants and boxers off all the way, just enough to let his cock spring free. You glanced down to see how pre-cum was smeared all over the rip and dripping down the shaft. There was no way you’d be able to take him right now, so you desperately began trying to get away from him.
“Let go of me! Go away! I hate you!” you screamed while tears rolled down your face.
You watched how his eye twitched slightly while he carefully aligned himself with your hole. “Ya know, I was going to be considerate and let you take me in slowly, but since you keep saying shit like that and I’ll just push in all at once.”
He thrusted his length inside you before you got the chance to respond. You threw your head back and cried out in a mixture of pain and pleasure. You heard how he groaned and sucked in his breath, and you weakly lifted your head to look at him. He was staring down at you, taking in every little movement of your face as you got used to him inside you, and you hoped with all your might that he wouldn’t move yet.
To your disgust, Ace gently wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close. Touching his skin felt like you were in the burning building; everywhere he touched, it felt like a burn should have been left behind. Still, his body's warmth was unnaturally comforting, and you hated it.
Soon, Ace slowly pulled out of your pussy till only his tip was inside, then sharply thrusted back inside you. Your body jolted, and you gasped while trying to cling to him the best you could. He chuckled softly while rubbing circles into your back as he slowly began repeating those motions, the sound of skin slapping ringing in your ears.
“F-fuck, you're tight,” he mumbled before kissing you hard on the lips, keeping that steady pace as he carved a path deep inside you.
A small sob fell from your lips while he kissed you passionately. You closed your eyes and tried to ignore the feeling of his lips on yours, but that only made you acutely aware of how well he was fucking you. He forced his tongue into your mouth and explored wildly while his pace slowly sped up. The way he kissed you felt suffocating, and soon, you harshly bit his lower lip in an attempt to make him pull away. Instead, he just groaned and kissed you harder, like he was trying to swallow you whole.
Soon, a fog of pleasure began settling in your mind despite your best efforts to ignore the arousal and pleasure Ace was giving you. You slowly started to cling to him more desperately, aching to reach a high you never wanted in the first place. That fog only solidified as Ace began rubbing circles against your clit. Your fingernails dug into his back, making thin crescent marks that started to turn red.
“G-gonna make you cum first,” Ace mumbled against your lips. “Wanna see the cute fucked out expression you’ll have.”
You absentmindedly nodded in agreement as you began rocking your hips to meet his thrusts. The heat in your core grew hotter by the second, threatening to go past the metaphorical boiling point. A small squeak got caught in your throat, and your eyes rolled back a little as you felt the rush of your high washing over you all at once, your cum coating his cock and spurring him to keep going. Ace pulled away from the kiss to look at your face, admiring the tear streaks and drool leaving your mouth.
“You're so cute,” he whispered in a husky voice, biting his lip while staring down at you. “You can cum one more time for me, yeah? I-I don’t wanna stop feeling your pussy yet.”
You quickly shook your head as the pleasure slowly crept into the area of pain. “‘s too much-” you babbled with a small hick-up.
“No, no, you can do it. Give me one more. Wanna feel your cute cunt sucking me in again,” Ace groaned as he rubbed your clit faster.
A whimper left you as you leaned your head against his shoulder, clinging to him as your body shook from the overload of pleasure running through your veins. Your toes curled, and you moaned with each harsh slap of his hips against yours. You could barely think, let alone pay attention or remember the crimes he had committed just while you were away from your friends.
A scream of pleasure ripped from your throat as you creamed on his dick again. Your head leaned back, and you breathed hard to get air back into your lungs as you recovered from reaching your second high. Ace squeezed your body against his while beginning to thrust into you wildly, chasing his own release as he basked in the feeling of your gummy walls around his dick.
“L-love you,” you mumbled, not thinking straight. “Love you so much,” you continued while moving to lean your forehead against Ace's.
Ace’s eyes locked with yours, little hearts practically in his eyes. “Say it again,” he demanded. “Say that you love me.”
“I-I love you,” you repeated, slowly beginning to say that repeatedly under your breath.
Hearing that, Ace thrust deep inside you, groaning as he released his seed into the deepest parts of your cunt. He breathed hard, still squeezing your body against his as a wave of tiredness began washing over him. “Love you too, Firecracker,” he mumbled, a manic grin on his face before he fell asleep on top of you.

Rafe Cameron was a regular customer of my brothers. But I knew him before Barry did. Sometimes I blame myself for his coke addiction, if he’d never met me, he’d never have met Barry. I hated the stuff never went near it and I begged Rafe to stop so many times but he was stubborn as hell.
Instead I made sure he texted me every night after a party, so I knew he was safe. Rafe agreed to that and he did stick to from then on. Apart from when I woke up this morning there was no message from him. My heart skipped a beat as I scrolled through the bundles of Instagram and Snapchat notifications.
Rafes name was not there. I’d checked three times now. My stomach grew a sick feeling inside as it twisted like someone was graphically ripping out my organs. That’s what happens when your worried about someone who’s important to you. Someone who your around all the time. And someone you’ve fallen for.
Rolling over onto my back, I texted him to inspire a reply and conformation that he was okay. Usually he was pretty quick when replying to me but five minutes past. Then ten. Then an hour. I couldn’t just sit around waiting for Rafe Cameron to text me back. Knowing him, there were probably hundreds of girls doing that, I wouldn’t be one of them.
I climbed out of my bed throwing the covers to the side and quickly changing into daytime clothes. I didn’t really care what I was wearing, that wasn’t on my mind. He was. Always was. I didn’t eat breakfast I got straight into my car and drove to my brothers trailer home to see if Rafe was with him or if he knew where Rafe was.
It wasn’t far, plus I knew where I could speed on the cut and where I couldn’t. I pulled up outside only to see that the front door was wide open. That was the first sign that everything was about to go to shit. Smoke was coming off a log fire just outside rising into the fresh morning air. Jumping out of the vehicle I raced for the door.
“Barry?” I shouted pushing the door open wider to look into his home. “You home bro?” Calling desperately out for an answer. Slowly and apprehensively, I made my way into the house. Not getting an answer was the second sign. The living room coffee table was full of bottles of beer and ash trays.
“Barry?” I called again walking through the house ignoring the disgusting state of the place. I came to his bedroom, the door was close all the way. I had a bad feeling come over me when I looked at the door. Shaking, my hand came out pushing the handel down opening the door slowly. My eyes scanned the room. Barry wasn’t in his room, he was nowhere to be seen. But Rafe was.
He was lying on the floor shaking completely out of it. “Rafe” I gasped running over to his side as quickly as I could with tears in my bright eyes. The little boy I once knew was gone, addiction had taken him over now. He’d gone too far. Rafe couldn’t move or lift his head up to look at me. I pressed my hand against his heart, his heart beat was raising.
I heard his little wheezes as he tried to gasp for breath. My heart broke. “I’m going to call an ambulance okay, your- your going to be okay rafe okay” I comforted him and my hand trembled as I tried calling the emergency services. He was unresponsive obviously but I hoped he was focusing on my voice and staying alive.
“Yo country club where you at” I heard from the other room. “BARRY” I screamed as the first tear fell down my face “y/n? What you doing h- what the fuck” Barry’s eyes widened as he entered the room seeing Rafe on the floor and me crying next to him. “Shit- your calling the ambulance?” He shouted at me pointing. “Of course I am you idiot” I cried putting it to my ear.
“What have you done” I shook my head at him “I- I have to bounce- shit- I needa get all my shit” Barry ran around his room collecting all the illegal shit he was hiding in a bag while the phone line opened for me. Everything after was a blur. The ambulance came immediately, I think mentioning that it was Rafe Cameron that needed them helped the situation a lot. Everyone knew Rafe Cameron.
His eyes started fluttering in and out of consciousness when they came. Barry had already left with every bit of evidence gone. I didn’t want to get my brother in trouble but Rafe needed me. Rafe was immediately admitted to emergency unit and they connected him up to a drip to stabilise his heart rate ensuring he wouldn’t have a heart attack.
I sat there in the hospital room with him the whole time just listen to the beeping machine and staring at his unconscious body. I’d never been more scared than in that moment.
Rafes eyes fluttered open but struggled to stay open. “Shit” I heard him mutter with a husky voice “rafe” whispering lightly feeling my heart pound against my chest. “Y/n?” He questioned squinting at me from his bed. “your okay now, your safe” “you called an ambulance?” Rafe quizzed moving his hand to his head.
“I know your going to be pissed at the choice I made but Rafe- if you had seen yourself” I shook my head unable to continue without crying. He silently looked at me next to him. “I would have done the same thing- roles reversed” he whispered gently making me feel a whole lot better. As if he’d just taken the Effie tower off my shoulders.
“Are you okay” i moved the chair a little closer to the bed to hear his quiet responses. “I feel like death” “what happed rafe” I demanded scrunching my sleeves in my hands “I dunno- there was no snow at the party so I went to your brothers afterwards- we were drinking- sniffing” Rafe looked up at the ceiling to explain the rest of the story. I think my look of disappointment was too much.
“He went out to get food when it got light- I did some more sniff I- I don’t know after that” “what is wrong with you?” I asked immediately after Rafe had finished his sentence. The boy let out a little sigh. “Why do you do this to yourself I’ve asked you- so many times to stop” I told him letting them tears fall down my face. “I know” he replied quietly. “Is this what it’s taken? Almost fucking dying- scaring the shit out of me”
My breathing became shaky as my crying turned into a full break down. My knees lifted up and my hand went to my face. “I can’t go through this again rafe I cant” I sobbed into my hands. “Y/n please don’t cry” Rafe reached his arm out to hold my wrist. “I didn’t- realise you were that worried about it all” “worried?” I asked looking up him “I was terrified Rafe, I won’t lose you to something this stupid I won’t”
“You haven’t- im not going anywhere I’m done” he told me seriously, he took my hand when I stopped moving to concentrate on his words. “You mean It? Because I don’t wanna hear it if you won’t” “No I mean it- I’ll stop it all for you” the boy shook his brunette head against the hospital pillow. “What do you mean for me” “seeing you upset it’s worse than my od to me okay, I would do anything to take it back so you did have to see that”
“You say that like it’s a normal thing Rafe- do you not realise yourself how serious it is?” “I’ll stop” he repeated looking me dead in the eyes “okay” I nodded subtly as my tears slowly came to a stop. I wiped my wet cheeks dry so i could carry on the conversation. “I think- I need to tell you something” he told me shuffling closer and trying to roll onto his side. The boy winced out in pain before breathing calmly.
“You gave me a second chance- you saved my life and it’s time I’m honest with you”. I stared back at the boy tightening my grip on his hand curious to know what it was. “I think I lived so could tell you this- the thought of dying without you knowing is- torcher” “you know what’s torcher rafe? You dragging this out making me worried as fuck” I let out a nervous laugh making him smile small.
“I will stop for you because I’m so fucking in love with you y/n” Rafe told me slightly reserved, he was being vulnerable with me and I loved it. But it scared me too. He just poured his heart out to me. Rafe Cameron is in love with me. With me? “Y/n Im Gonna need you to say something here to save us both the overthinking” Rafe smirked at me as my lips parted to speak.
“I am same- I am- also- your always on my mind I - I’m in love with you too” I stuttered trying to get the right wording exactly. His eye brows twitched together. “I don’t know if I was expecting that or not” “I wasn’t” I answered really quickly. We both looked at each other before laughing, Rafe brought my hand to his lips and he kissed the top of it. “I will kiss you for realz just let me brush my teeth first” Rafe joked with me. “I’ll wait for you Cameron” I chuckled rubbing my thumb across his hand before bringing it to my chest.
“Barry is gonna hate this” I giggled shaking my head “I don’t need him anymore, I don’t care if he hates me” Rafe answered, perfectly. “I’m so glad your okay” I whispered hugging his arm clutching it to my chest. “I’m glad your here” “wait so are we like- together now or?” I raised my eyebrow urging an answer from the boy. “You’ve been my girl for a while, you just didn’t know it” “is- is that a yes?” I checked just to make. Rafe chuckled to himself.
“Yes gorgeous your officially my girl- and I will sort my life out for you i promise, your worth it”.

anyone who ever loved unsleeping city ever NEEDS to listen to rainbow connection from the fucking. muppet movie (trust me) and new york i love you but you’re bringing me down by LCD Soundsystem (this one works best if you’ve seen chapter 2 but it works well w just season 1)
sometimes i turn on one of these two songs to just Think about unsleeping city because as someone who was also born and raised in a massive city that i love with my whole heart and soul it just makes me so full of emotion and i recommend this experience wholeheartedly. my thoughts and feelings about my city are so complicated and the unsleeping city is genuinely the only piece of media ive ever seen that really Got it. cities can feel so heartless and massive but also so magical and fantastic and full of life and hope. possibilities. big cities are about dreams and people and communities, but that means that they can’t stop themselves from changing, for better or for worse. ricky and iga and alejandro and the immigrant experience, the joy and beauty and family and community that a city can be for those who dare to dream. when puck tells misty to remember who her people are, he doesn’t understand that fairy was never hers, that the city is where she feels safe and free and alive. kingston’s elderly mother making him breakfast each morning and sneaking tupperwares into his pockets. it is a beautiful thing.
and sometimes you have to watch that beautiful this killing itself so slow as things and people change, watching the places you love close and the people in power steal them away from under you, when the city feels hostile and too big and lonely. kingston and iga walking around as the new york that they love feels like it’s getting stolen out from underneath them, as stores close or family becomes distant, being confused and hurt and sad as what they remember becomes fainter and the people around them forget what it once was. kingston being willing to kill pete if it means the city will be safe, leaving liz behind, choosing new york over the individual people around him ten times out of ten because it isn’t even a question; the betrayal he feels when epona attacks him in the subway. cody throwing ninja stars at billboards and yelling at construction workers because his mall is going to be destroyed and that’s his world. pete scrolling through his phone with a slice of pizza. sofia doing anything she can to invite people over or avoid going home, because her home is empty. sofia failing to fight the angels to get her husband back because he needs to watch the deer, cutting off her family because they’ve betrayed her so deeply. kugrash reading the letter in david’s office. cities really are easy to hate sometimes, because not every person and community is kind or good or noble, but there’s an illogical and impossible loyalty you feel even when it feels like the buildings will fall down and crush you, covered in this sick oppressive system on a hallowed holy ground, artificial and dirty and so big it’ll swallow you whole. and sometimes you have to accept that things are how they are, but you know that somewhere in here is the ability to fight and change and grow and be together and support one another- pete and nod at the diner and the museum, kingston opening his apartment so pete can get back on his feet, pete saving priya from the burning building and forgiving kingston on the train, ricky refusing to be anything but a good person even when things suck; kugrash traveling around nod on wally’s shoulders and saying it’s okay that you don’t forgive me and driving with esther to see her mother in the park and eating the bagel because even though he was horrible before he wants to be better and he believes he can be; everyone giving their spells to help alejandro catch the train and save nod; saving santa and willy and em and the art show guests and the bodega customers and la gran gata not because they have to but because they can. and while there are never easy solutions, justice can be served and your dreams can become reality- pete taking control of his reality, making his body and his magic his own; rowan talking to the american dream, you are my love and my only true love; sofia at the empire state building- there really is something up there if you go up to look for it, there are people who will fight with you, it is what it is and it is what it could be- the city is almost impossible to love if you aren’t aware that it loves you back, and it does, it does, it does.

Omg omg pls spill the tea about shitty retail customers, i LIVE for retail stories
OH BOY WOULD I
So I have a different subset of retail stories, you might say. For context I work at a chain pet store in both customer service and pet care departments, with lots of cashier experience. Let's call it uhhhhhh PetSnart.
An older lady came in to ask about fish, and she wanted to buy two koi fish to put in a 3 gallon tank she already had at home. I had to explain to her that I could not sell her the koi fish bc koi grow to be absolutely massive and are only suited for 100+ gallon ponds. She pouted about it like a child. Side note: whoever the fuck came up with the lie "fish only grow to fit however big their tank is," go to hell. When I die I'll find you and kick your ass myself.
One time a lady came in to return shampoo, I rang her up for her return and she insisted that she paid more for it that what her return price was, argued with me about it like I was braindead until she asked for my manager to ring her up instead. He came up with the same return price and she said "Oh, that's the same number she [referring to me] said." And my manager told me after she left that it took all his power not to say to her face "Yeah, because she [me] did it right the first time."
A father wearing an outfit that looked straight out of a 1970s sex offender suspect lineup with a very young daughter yelled at me because he wanted to buy his daughter a frog but he had to sign paperwork to do so. Whenever we sell any animal that is not a fish we have to have the pet parent (that's what he have to call customers) sign their name/address/email/phone number on a sales form as legal coverage for ourselves in case they somehow harm the animal, it's not our fault basically. He was CONVINCED that we were gonna sell him junk mail to his address (which is a totally acceptable reason to yell at a retail associate /s) and refused to fill out the sales form because he just wanted "a fucking frog" but I legally could not sell him that animal if he won't sign the papers. He did so begrudgingly and I hope his daughter grows up to despise him. Months after this, I ran into him again and he did apologize to me for doing that, which I appreciated. He was still a dick tho.
Every so often some fish will get a disease called ich (pronounced "ick," short for the scientific name of a parasite) which shows up as white dots all over the fish's body. It's fatal if left untreated but is easily treatable with medicated water. I noticed some goldfish in our fish tanks had ich, so I put them in a container to take them to the back room where we have a quarantine tank just for situations like this. As I was doing this a family was looking at the fish and they asked me for help, and I said "absolutely just give me one second :)" bc I was still mid-transporting sick goldfish but the dad quipped back with "actually :) we've been waiting here for a long time :) so could we get help now actually? :)" I added those smileys in is speech bc he had the most shit eating grin the entire time he was speaking to me. Never in my life have I despised someone in such a short amount of time (like SPEEDRUN i hate you now) and wanted to eat them alive in front of their entire family more than this moment. Also I was in their vicinity the entire time and they were "waiting" (re: standing around looking at things) for like 5 minutes TOPS. They did not ask me for help until I was in the middle of pulling goldfish. I helped them just so they would fuck off sooner. I put the goldfish in the quarantine tank after and they got better soon after treatment.
A lady got snippy with me because she thought I didn't give her enough crickets (at PetSnart we have bins of live crickets that the associate has to catch themselves with a scoop to put them in a small transparent plastic bag to give to the customer) even though I caught WAY more than what she asked for (15) because I was doing everything wrong apparently. Then before I even tied the bag closed she snatched it out of my hand and said something like "No no I want them to be able to breathe" as she walked away.
A lady argued with me about keeping betta fish in cups as if I specifically was the sole reason why the fish are being abused and kept in tiny prisons and she's friends with peta so she's gonna call them to shut us down. I dislike that we keep bettas in cups too. I was agreeing with her on everything (except peta because FUCK peta). But it's been a few years and my store is still standing so.
That's probably enough lol. This post is already way too long. Hope these are juicy enough

Yandere RE8: TRP Part 4
Part 1 is here.
Part 2 is here.
Part 3 is here.
Part 5 is here.
Check out my MASTERLIST for more!
"Uhh... hello?"
You looked at the woman standing in the stairs. She was wearing a dark veil that matched the rest of her outfit- oh shit, that's a funeral outfit.
I really did pick a bad time to come here, didn't I? She's in mourning, she sees an intruder, and her day went from bad to worst. Yep, she's gonna kill me.
You took one look at the woman and then at all the possible exits: the doors- no, they'd be too heavy to move and what if they're locked? The window- but I'd have to jump out and just because it looks cool in movies to jump through glass, doesn't mean it'll work, Y/n.
So, the only option was to eliminate the threat. Or maybe... defuse it.
"This is your doll, right?" You asked, pointing at the doll, judging by the lace designs on both of their dresses. The woman didn't reply. "It looks like its been... used a lot. To be honest, she's very different than most dolls I've seen, definitely a lot more spookier." You nervously giggled, hoping she didn't mind. "But... she looks like she's been loved. A lot. Despite being broken from a lot of places, someone still took their time to fix her." You smiled sadly, remembering your own doll that Mia had ripped. "Wish I had someone like that. To sew up the wounds and fix them."You mumbled, not really sure if you were talking about your doll or yourself.
"Your doll, she's- she's very pretty. My sister would've liked her." You began. "Which is why I'm here. My family, we were in an accident- I know it was wrong of me to come here without permission, but I need to find my sister, Rose and my father, Ethan." You took a step closer. "They both of have blonde hair. Rose, my sister, she's just 6 months old. She was dressed in a baby pink onesie, bundled up in a blanket. My father, Ethan, he's about this tall and has big blue eyes. I think he was wearing a jacket, with blue denim jeans. H-have you seen them?" You asked, eyes full of hope and voice laced with eagerness.
Please, please let her have seen them. God, please.
Unsurprisingly, the woman didn't reply, but she did turn her head towards the left window. You didn't know whether she was telling you to get out of her house or signalling that they are out there, but you knew you had to leave.
Nodding, you slowly walked towards the window, your heart beating faster as you prayed that this wasn't some sort of trap, hoping she wouldn't attack you from behind because that would be like... really shitty.
But you left the house unharmed, and without looking back at the window because you didn't want to jinx it, you walked towards the forrest once again, thankful that the sun had finally came out.
Where are you guys?
You had been walking for a couple of hours now, the sun had been a bit warmer today, which was good since you hated the snow that surrounded you now. You looked at the map, tracing the path to your new destination. The Salvatore reservoir. It seemed like it would take you a day's journey to get there, and you sure as hell weren't seeing any lake in sight.
God, when will this nightmare end?
You decided to sit on a stone and take some much needed rest. Your feet ached from all the walking, and your calves were cramping. You rolled your head, popping it from the side, before taking off the rifle that had been weighing down, stretching out your arms. Digging through the little back pack you bought from Duke, you pulled out a thermos of coffee and twinkie. You don't know how or where he got it, but Duke had filled your bag with a couple of snacks; saying its for his loyal customer.
So, here you sat, in the middle of the snowy woods, eating a twinkie and drinking a lukewarm coffee. Both didn't taste good, but they're gonna keep you alive so, no complaining.
After drinking the coffee, you rested your head against a tree, recalling last nights events as you waited for the caffeine to kick in.
You tried to make sense of what happened when you got... locked in the basement. You thought you had forgotten about her, Angel. Guess not.
Wait- didn't that lady lock me in the basement? Maybe, she didn't look very hostile, her creepy doll looked scarier than she did.
You laughed at the irony. You always made fun of the horror movies where the family would become so attached to the most horrifying doll, and you'd scream at their stupidity, And yet here you were, falling for the cliche as you found comfort in that creepy doll.
Man, I'm really losing it here.
You sighed, closing your eyes as you tried to come up with the next plan. But the warm coffee had lulled you right to sleep, which was dangerous but you were too tired to care.
Just for a couple of minutes...
You woke up to the sound of growling and heavy steps. And as soon as you opened your eyes, you knew you had definitely slept for far longer than a few minutes. But that was not of concern at the moment. No, it was the source of the growling that had woken you up.
Just about 40 feet away from you were lycans. Plural. Not one, not two, but 5 lycans, and one of them was a really big one.
You held your breath as you watched them wander around; they hadn't spotted you yet, and if you stayed quiet, you hoped they would just go away.
Stilling yourself as much as you could, you watched them with wide eyes. One of them started to walk in your direction, it wasn't looking at you, which meant that it hadn't seen you, but he would if he kept on walking this way.
God, I know we haven't been on good terms, but like c'mon, you gotta give me a break. Please, I love you? Come on, you know this is not how I want to go.
You sent a silent prayer, and perhaps it worked, since the lycan suddenly turned the other way, joining its pack as they started walking deeper into the woods.
Slowly, you began to gather up your things, silently shoving them in your bag, one eye on the lycans and the other one making sure that you don't accidentally drop something that'd cause noise.
Fortunately, you didn't. You swung the bag over your shoulder, and took a step forward, careful not to step on any twigs.
Maybe God did love me. All that time in church-
THWACK!
You jumped back as a huge sheet of snow fell from the trees in front of you. You whipped your head towards the monsters and they all had stopped dead in their tracks. Slowly, one of them turned and if they hadn't heard the snow fall, they'd definitely heard the way your heart was about to burst out of your chest. Then, it growled.
Motherfucker.
You pulled out your gun just as the two of them began running your way. With a quick jump to the side, you dodged them and shot them two times each. Hearing your gun fire, the other two began running your way too, while the larger one stayed behind as it watched. This time, as you shot one of them, the other managed to kick you in the chest hard, throwing you against the rock. Luckily, you didn't hit your head, as you rolled and shot it dead.
Spitting out the blood, you looked back at the last lycan who had already started running your way. You began loading up your gun with trembling hands, but just as you aimed, the lycan took a giant leap and knocked the gun out of your hand.
Fuck.
The giant grabbed you by your neck, lifting you up high before throwing you across the ground. You wheezed, scrambling up to your feet as you began running away from it, its heavy steps following you. It roared angrily behind you, and that only made you ignore the burning pain in your chest as you ran faster.
But of course, God had decided to make you live a cliche horror movie, because you tripped over a fucking branch, making you fall on your stomach. You flipped over instantly, and saw your nightmare come true as the lycan jumped on you.
On pure reflex, you punched it square in the face, which you doubted hurt it more than it hurt you, if anything, the monster was momentarily perplexed, but that was enough for you to slip from under it.
But you were only able to take a few steps away when it suddenly grabbed you by your neck and lifted you up again, snarling as it began opening its mouth, revealing its razor-sharp teeth at you.
God, if you're hearing this, I'm converting to atheism because I did not need this today.
Looking at the horrifying lycan, you prayed one last time before you were eaten by it. Surprisingly, your life did not flash before your eyes, which you were kinda grateful for because you did not need to relive that before your death.
But that moment didn't came. No, what came were familiar moans of pain, and then the sound of a drill, followed by blood splattering on your face as the lycan was sliced vertically from the head to the toe by the aforementioned drill.
The lycan fell to the ground, revealing the pair of soldats that killed them and behind them a smirking Heisenberg, who rested against a tree, tipping his hat at you.
You were far too shocked to say anything, and after a few seconds, the man walked over to you, blocking the view of his monstrous creations just mutilating the lycans.
"So... that was a bit traumatising." He started, chuckling at your stunned face. "You okay, kid?"
What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck-
"Yeah." You took his hand, and he helped you up. You groaned at the pain, touching the tender side around the chest where the lycan had hit you. Yeah, you probably broke a rib.
Heisenberg helped you sit down on a tree stump. "Hmm, that bastard kicked you hard didn't it." Wait- "But that was a phenomenal punch you threw at it. Nearly made me burst out laughing."
"You were watching? Why the fuck didn't you come in before!"
He shrugged. "I just wanted to see if you could really handle yourself- which you were pretty good at, but then you lost your gun and it was kinda an unfair match from there on." He pulled out some pills from his coat. "i was just passing by when I saw those lycans moving away. Thats when I pushed the tree which made snow sheet fall and you know the rest from there on."
Your eyes went wide. "You did that on purpose? What the shit, Heisenberg-?! Fuck." You doubled over in pain, clutching your ribs, heaving.
"Shh, stay still, kid. Here, take these. They'll help with the pain." You eyed the bottle before popping two in your mouth. Hey, if he wanted me dead, he wouldn't have saved me from the lycan. "I just wanted to see if you were worth the trouble, and as it turns out, you are."
"You didn't have to almost kill me to see that. And now I've lost my gun. And I don't have any money to buy a new one. I doubt Duke gives freebies." You huffed out.
Heisenberg rolled his eyes. "God, you sure do whine a lot. Here-" He dropped a tiny pouch in your lap. "There's some coins in there. That should be enough to buy you a new gun. And for fucks sake, get a gun with more rounds! You don't have time to be loading a gun mid battle." He huffed. "So, where are you going now?"
You rolled your head from side to side. "Well, I went to the Beneviento house. Didn't find Ethan or Rose there. Now, I'm going to the lake."
"The lake? Huh, well if you survived Donna, then Moreau should be a piece of cake. You got the map? Let me show you the short cut, it's not far from here." You gave him the map and he showed you the directions.
"Where are you going then?"
"Mother Miranda called. Don't worry, I'll keep our meeting a secret." He then nodded at you. "Alright, I'm off now."
"Wait!" Your voice stopped him. "I don't know when I'll see Duke again. And I don't have gun, so what if another pack of lycans come?"
Heisenberg slumped his shoulders as he let out an annoyed sigh. "Fine. I gotta do everything by myself." He dog whistled and one of the soldats stopped maiming the lycan and ran to Heisenberg. "From now on, you're gonna listen to her."The soldat looked at you and nodded. "If she tells you to kill, you kill. If she tells you to die, you die. Follow her around and keep her safe." The soldat nodded. Then Heisenberg turned to you. "He's already dead, so don't worry about throwing him in danger. Oh and also, just take him into the sun every once in a while so that his engine can recharge. You'll know when he needs the sun."
You were baffled. "Wait, Heisenberg- how the- what the hell am I supposed to do with him?"
"Figure it out, kid. Think of him as a guard dog."
You looked at the soldat then at Heisenberg's retreating form, then back at the soldat.
"So..." The soldat stared at you. "You got a name?"
"Handsome." You nodded to yourself as you trudged, using the soldat's arm to support yourself. "That's what I'm gonna call you. Handsome. What do you think?"
The soldat was wearing a metal contraption over its eyes, so you couldn't really tell what it was feeling.
"Well, you don't seem to have any complaints, so from now on, you'll respond to the name "Handsome". Do you understand?"
The soldat nodded.
You laughed. God, the pain meds were either making me stupid or everything else funnier.
You looked at the map again. Just a couple of more minutes and then a right turn. And then you should see the lake- god, this map was confusing as hell.
"So..." you wondered what you should ask the cyborg. Oh right. "You seen Ethan? Blonde man, crazy big eyes. Or a baby, Rose?" The man shook his head no.
Sigh. What else could I ask him? What about how did he die? No, what if that's triggering? I can't handle a Terminator right now. And I don't think I should ask him about his past or anything that'll cause him to have a existential crisis. Ah! I've got it!
"Hey, how do you see?"
The soldat looks down at you for a few seconds then points at his metal contraption.
Wait- is that sarcasm?
You scoff. "Of course, you see with your eyes! I meant, with the whole metal thingy covering them, how do you- oh, there's this vision specs in them."
You smiled. "Hey, you're kinda like Cyclops, yknow-" you were cut off as Handsome suddenly pushed you to the ground, turning on his drill.
"Wait, shit- you don't have to be Cyclops! We can talk this out-" but Handsome was focusing on something else, and that's when you saw it. Two lycans.
Handsome ran and easily maimed them to pieces, I mean, you had to look away from the horrific scene midway.
The soldat returned five minutes later, covered in blood. He extended his hand and you reluctantly took it, letting him support you as you began walking again, your heart still beating like crazy.
But you calmed down when you finally reached the lake, the setting sun gave serene feel to the entire reservoir. You inhaled deeply before looking at Handsome. "Lets go down there." You pointed at the lake.
You were both sitting at the wooden broadwalk, your legs hanging off the ledge. You looked at the water, it wasn't crystal clear, but you could see some fishes swimming around, so at least it wasn't dangerous to life. You looked at Handsome, then at his drill and you realised he was still covered in blood. "Lets get you cleaned up, hm?" You said, pulling out a rag from your bag and dipping it in the cold water below. You began with cleaning up his drill, then dipping the rag back in cold water and cleaning his chest and his other arm.
"Good job back there, Handsome."You smiled as Handsome nodded. "Heisenberg was right, you are kinda like a dog. Hmm, I wonder if..." You tested your theory as you petted him on the head. "Good job, Handsome!" But the soldat only tilted its head in confusion.
"Hmm, perhaps not." You cupped the cold water in your hands and washed your own face, You looked at your reflection in the water. "You wanna go for a swim? I don't mind." Handsome shook his head. "Yeah, I'm not a fan of swimming either."
Handsome stared at you. You scoffed. "Oh so you pretend you don't understand what I say, but you want to hear the story? Fine, but I'm only telling you because it might be important later."
You both stared at the water as you began your story. "Well, when I was 15, I had snuck out of the house to go to a party. It was at this rich girl's house and I knew she didn't like me, but I was surprised when she had invited me to her place. Yes, a red flag I should've seen from miles ago, but I was young and dumb and desperate to climb the highschool social hierarchy." You chuckled. "Anyways, long story short, one of the guys there pushed me into the pool because I don't know if they thought it was funny to see me drown? By some luck, I managed to grab onto the pool ledge and pull myself up. I immediately left the party, embarrassed and cold and on the verge of breaking down. Then on the way back home, there was this car following me and then some weirdo catcalled me and tried to get me in his car. Now, scared for my life because I watched a lot of Criminal Minds, I ran all the way home, praying that he leaves me alone. I think he stopped when he saw a Range Rover following him, but I don't know. I just rushed back home." You sighed. "You know what happened next? I bursted through the front door, slamming it shut and I turn around to see my dad in the living room, looking surprised to see me. He stood up and looked me up and down and then said, "Y/n? You're drenched completely. And you're messing up the floor. You know what? Mia's in the bathroom right now, why don't you go upstairs and I'll clean up here. You know how she gets when there's water on the wood." And I was just so shocked, that I didn't say anything and went back upstairs. Once I was in the shower, that's when I broke down crying. I almost drowned, almost got kidnapped and my father was worried about me messing up the wooden floor? Hell, he didn't even ask me why I was coming home at midnight." Your tears fell into the lake, making small ripples. You chuckled, "God, I always wondered how tired he must've been from work that day to ignore all these visible signs of distress. I always hated his job, you know? They made him work way too much." You looked at Handsome who was looking at the lake. "Anywho, now you know I can't swim so, save me if I fall into this lake, okay?" He nodded.
You guys sat in comfortable silence for a few more minutes before a question popped up in your mind. "Handsome?" He turned his head towards you, only to see a mischievous smile on your face. "Are you seeing someone?" The man turned his back to the lake, making you laugh. "Ahh, so you like someone. Tell me, is it someone from the village?" The man further turned his head away from you in embarrassment. "Oh come on, tell me! Is it a girl?" He nodded reluctantly, making you punch his arm. "You dog! Does she know?" Handsome shook his head, making you smile. "Tell you what? As a payback for saving me back there, I'll help you get her. I'll be your wingman, Handsome, hm?" He nodded a bit enthusiastically.
"We all deserve good things, Handsome. No matter how we look, or what we are, these things don't really define one's self worth. Its our intentions, you know?" Handsome didn't know, but he nodded anyways.
"Good. Now, lets go check out this place. Keep an eye out for Ethan and Rose, okay?" You told him, not knowing someone was already watching the two of you.
Tumblr media

Atlantic Runaways (Part 3)
Lol we got part 3, which is mainly just a lot of fluff and plot developement uwu
Warnings: Mentions of smoking, vore, trauma? Swearing.
Words: 1.8K+
He rolled in bed as his alarm went off, the familiar tune of the able sisters calling him into awakening. Much to his displeasure. How dare this alarm tell him to get up when wait- shit! He had a job!
He came to his thoughts as he shot out of bed, checking his phone to see that the alarm was late. “SHIT!”. But then stopped for a minute, he remembered it was a Saturday. Why would his alarm be going off on his day off?
Then he realised he was going too late for his meeting with Tubbo.
He grabbed his hoodie, rushed downstairs and ran across the street to the nearby park that he and Tubbo would meet up in.
As he ran his best friend came into view, with an unamused face of course. “Tubbo! My man!”. He managed to get out as he came to a halt, panting his lungs out. “About time, you dickhead!”.
“Sorry! Sorry! A lot of things happened yesterday…”. It came out almost abrupt but confusing as the reality of yesterday’s events were finally hitting him. No wonder he overslept, he was exhausted.
“You okay Toms?”. He snapped out of his mind and looked to Tubbo, “Fine! How about we grab some coffee from the café?”, “Sure, but I’m not grabbing coffee. I’m getting hot chocolate!”.
“Tubbo, it’s the middle of fucking summer…”, “THAT WILL NOT STOP ME FROM CONSUMING AND ENJOYING MY CHOCOLATEY BEVERAGE!”.
The two made their way to the café in the middle of the park, it was quite a famous public area so many people frequented the place. They took their orders, the hot chocolate and coffee with a side of biscuits. Because Tommy didn’t have breakfast.
The two just sat on their phones for a moment, the atmosphere of awkwardness raising, it was apparent to Tubbo that something was off about Tommy, he was normally more hyperactive, talkative, and well, energetic. Something was clearly on his mind, and he didn’t want to talk.
But Tubbo was determined to get answers. The drinks soon arrived and Tubbo put away his phone, sipping at his hot chocolate. Ignoring the boiling temperature in favour of looking dramatic. He looked at Tommy with narrowed eyes, but his attention was focused on his phone.
“So…”. Tubbo spoke up, Tommy’s attention went from his phone to Tubbo. “What’s up?”, Tommy asked while furrowing an eyebrow, Tubbo was acting differently.
“What’s going on? You’re acting differently.”. Tubbo usual tone is gone, replaced with a serious one. Oh god, it was a serious one. Did he do something? Was he suspicious? He didn’t really want to tell Tubbo what had happened.
“Uhh, nothing?”. Tubbo slammed his fist on the table. “Okay! Okay! Maybe almost got murdered yesterday at work?...”. Tubbo always held a level of intimidation so Tommy couldn’t help and spit it out, much to his displeasure.
“What?”, Tubbo spoke quietly, not wanting to get more attention from the customers that were already staring at them.  “Okay, let’s finish this outside.”.
The two then quickly ate their biscuits and finished their drinks, Tommy grabbing a can of Coca Cola on the way out. The two then made their way to their usual bench, secluded from the rest of the park.
“So, what do you mean you almost got killed?!”, Tubbo asked the moment they sat down. Tommy almost choked on his cola. “Right uhm…”. He tried to find a way to put it.
“Basically, you know that trainer guy who was really sketchy?”, “Yeah…”. “Basically, he threw me into the water with a dangerous Mer? Well, not really dangerous now... But-“. Tubbo slapped a hand over Tommy’s mouth and pinched his own nose and sighed. “Slowly.”.
Tommy in turned sighed when his mouth was released, he was going to have to go into more detail. “Trainer guy I was working under was treating Wilbur like shit, course me and Wilbur weren’t on the best of terms but that isn’t a right to treat a creature like us like total shit! So, I stood up for em’ “.
He continued, “In turn, he got mad and pushed me into the water. As you know I’m not the brightest out there and I didn’t manage to suck in any air. So, I was drowning…”. “That’s how you almost died?...”.
Tommy looked down and nodded, his arms hugging himself. Tubbo comforted him with a hug, rubbing his back as Tommy leaned into the touch. “Mhm…”. He mumbled. The two stayed there for a moment, in comforting silence.
“How did you get out?” he asked once Tommy had calmed down. “I- Wilbur saved me. I don’t know why but he did, he fucking ate me while doing it too!”, “What?!”.
“Turns out some Mers have what’s called a brooding pouch, a place where they store young. Wilbur put me there for a while”. “Wait- Brooding pouch?! He ate you but didn’t eat you?”. Tubbo said in confusion to which made Tommy laugh.
“Yeah, turns out he can speak too! So, now I can actually talk to the bitch! And now we’re friends, I guess? Well, that and he actually comforted me after what happened, so after all that I walked home at whatever time it was and fell asleep.”.
Tubbo went straight into protective mode, hugging Tommy with a lot of strength, “I’m glad you’re alive! But Wilbur, you think you guys are friends?”. “I guess so, he seemed rather friendlier than usual”.
“Whatever it is, be careful. He could still be dangerous!”, “I will don’t worry! I just, I feel bad for Wilbur. I’m gonna try and do whatever I can to help… Wait- how come you’re okay with all this?”.
“Because I know you Toms, and I know I won’t be able to stop you even if I tried so you have my support, okay? If you need a hand lemme know”.
The two did their usual antics after that, playing around and such like they have since childhood and after all that he went to bed.
The next day went by quickly as he was mainly playing games and stuff. He tried to think of plans, something of what he could do to help Wilbur.
He woke up with a lot of energy that morning, he had plans and he knew that work is going to be absolute chaos.
The moment he arrived at work that day there was a sort of rush of anxiety and excitement, he was excited to see Wilbur again but also scared of the fact of how Wilbur would react.
He walked past the halls and into Wilbur’s containment. There stood the trainer, sitting on a stand, smoking his darn cigarette.
He heard the door open and looked over to see Tommy. His eyes widened in shock, coughing as he clumsily inhaled his cigarette. “Y-you’re!”. “Yeah, I’m alive. Shut it”.
The man opened his mouth and stood up, approaching Tommy menacingly. Tommy’s confidence faded as he brought up his arms to shield himself from the man. But the man didn’t even stand a chance as water splashed around the two.
And there was Wilbur, barring his sharp teeth, his eyes dilated as he saw the man staring down at his trainer. The trainer immediately backed off when he saw the Mer, running away cowardly out of the room. Leaving him and Wilbur alone.
Tommy looked nervously to Wilbur whose harsh expression turned softer as he looked down at Tommy, he leaned down to Tommy’s height. “You, okay?”. “Yeah, fine. Thanks Wil.”.
Wilbur smiled as he brought out his hand, offering it to Tommy to which he looked down at it in confusion, to which Wilbur responded by just picking him up completely. “Glad to see you’re okay, I’ve been worried”. He nuzzled Tommy.
“Oi, stop it bitch!”. It made Wilbur laugh. “Why are you so cuddly?!”, “You should know this, it’s common knowledge for mers”. Tommy took a minute to understand what he meant then the realisation hit him.
“Right, you bitches get attached to things easily”. And in response, Wilbur brought a claw to gently rub Tommy’s hair. “Right there, gremlin boy!”. “I am no gremlin!”.
The two then settled down with Wilbur swimming around in his small pool, which honestly made Tommy cringe with how small it was. “You hungry?”, he yelled out as he pulled out a heavy bucket towards the pool, it was filled to the brim with fish.
Wilbur popped his head out of the water, “Always hungry, honestly”. He swam towards the end of the pool where Tommy was, “Right”. He brought the bucket to Wilbur, to which Wilbur opened his mouth wide.
Tommy could make out the many sharp fangs, he could easily be swallowed whole. It freaked him out, he shrieked and stepped back. Wilbur closed his mouth and tilted his head in confusion at Tommy’s sudden yells. “What’s wrong?”.
“N-nothing, just you kinda scared me for a second “, “Oh! Sorry! Just thought you’d feed me like that”. “O-oh…”. Tommy then took a breath and came back close to Wilbur, Wilbur picked up on what Wilbur was doing and opened his mouth back up.
He then threw the bucket of fish into Wilbur’s mouth, who immediately swallowed the fish. Although not normally a part of a whale mer’s diet, it was the only thing that he could really give Wilbur to eat out here.
Wilbur then went back to swimming whilst Tommy laid his feet in the water and surprisingly, Wilbur didn’t mind it.
“So. Uhm- you okay Wil?”, “Just fine, Tommy” he answered as he swam. Fortunately, Mers could hear just as well from above the water, even if they were underwater. So, the conversation would be rather normal.
“How are you feeling after that day?”, “Fine, I talked to a friend about it. Got it off my mind and shit.”, “You told somebody about me?”, his tone changed. Tommy looked to Wilbur, “Y-yeah, I hope that’s okay!”, “Are they trustworthy?”, “Yeah!”, “Okay.”.
There was another moment of silence until Tommy spoke up, “Wilbur, don’t you hate being here?”. “Yes, I do, I absolutely despise it here. I hated it the moment I got here”, “Do you wanna go back to the ocean?”.
“Yes I do, but that isn’t possible.”.
“What if it is though?”.
“Tommy, you’d have to be a maniac in order to pull off an operation on your own”.
“Well I am a maniac, I’ll do it!”.
“Toms-“.
“Let’s run away Wilbur!”.
“Tommy!” Wilbur pinched his nose and sighed, “I get it, you wanna help and I’m all up for it. But it’s dangerous. I don’t want you getting hurt”.
“It’ll be fine Wilbur! Come on! Don’t you wanna get out of here?!”. Wilbur looked to Tommy who had determined eyes, he couldn’t help it, he found them adorable. He sighed again, “Finee, but we’re going to be really careful about this okay?”.
Tommy smiled and stood up, reached out for Wilbur, Wilbur happily hugged him back with his hand. It made Tommy laugh, which brought a smile to Tommy’s face.
“We’ll run away!”.

Rafe Cameron x Pogue Reader.
Tumblr media
A/N: First of all, this is probably trash, i’m really sorry and i’m insecure about my writing hehe. Anyway, Rafe is the cocky asshole and Y/N the horny Pogue, enemies to lovers vibes, classic. And this is their story or more specifically: How they ended up together.
Warning: Light Smut, Sexual tension, Fluff, Light Angst, idk mention of Ward Cameron and John B? Sounds like a warning to me, you might feel the need to throw your panties at Drew afterwards?
Words: 5K
You started working at the country club this summer, which is where you “met” Rafe Cameron. But it wasn’t really the first time, as a Pogue you were already aware of the Kook’s bad reputation. However, this is when things unexpectedly started to change between the two of you.
At first, you tried to avoid him and his friends as much as possible: which caught Rafe’s attention and intrigued him. You were annoyed by his cocky attitude, vulgarity and poor comments regarding your lifestyle and friends but you couldn’t deny his charm.
One day, after another sexist comment from Topper, you decided to call him out in front of everyone, flipping him off on your way back to the bar as well. And your sudden bold attitude picked Rafe’s interest, leaving the Kook boy wordless and turning him on at the same time.
That’s when Rafe started to come to the club by himself without telling anyone, wanting to admire you in peace. He was obsessed with your work uniform, with the way your short tennis skirt always exposed your legs to him. He couldn’t stop picturing himself caressing your beautiful thighs, his mind going wild at the thought of you sitting on his lap.
Rafe didn’t know how to handle his new feelings towards you, especially the most sinful ones. He wasn’t used to rejection, usually women are the ones coming up to him. But you weren’t one of them, you were mostly ignoring him, torturing the Kook boy through the act. You guys were supposed to be enemies, but deep down, Rafe hoped you didn’t hate him.
On the other hand, you tried to not pay attention to the cocky Kook boy. But today, you knew something was going on due to Rafe’s lack of discretion. You could feel his blue eyes devouring you from across the room as you walked by. He was sitting at his usual table with his friends, drinking in silence and ignoring their conversation, too busy looking at you with intensity: the persistence making you blush uncontrollably. And right now, as Rafe licked his lips: tasting the sweet alcohol he just drank. He smirked to himself, wondering how you’d taste.
You left the room, followed by the Kook boy. “What do you want, Cameron?” You asked harshly, noticing his presence as you both walked to the exit. You were craving fresh-air, your cheeks still burning from his last action. “Do you have plans for tonight?” He asked back, opening the door for you, your eyes lingering on his bicep as he held it. “Why—“ You paused, waving at some customers coming in as you both stood next to the entrance. “I’m not interested.” Rafe laughed, grabbing your wrist as you tried to walk out. “Wait,“ He turned you around, gently pushing you against the wall, not caring about the people looking at the two of you. “One date, one chance.” “I don’t understand, you—“ You licked your lips, trying to ignore the warm feeling invading your body as he looked down at your lips. “This is literally our first real conversation, the insults and shitty comments you usually throw at me don’t count. And now, after all, you want to take me on a date? Why? I’m not a dirty Pogue anymore?” He shrugged his shoulders, playing it cool while he was freaking out on the inside, scared to get rejected by you. “I— I don’t know. You seem like a cool girl.” You raised a brow, then rolled your eyes at him. “If this is some kind of bet—“ “No! It’s not— Y/N, trust me it’s not. I’m not very good at this…” You sighed, a bit intrigued by his offer. “Fine, I'm giving you one chance, Cameron.”
Surprisingly, he wasn’t playing with you: preparing a whole pic-nic on the beach by himself, with a few candles and pillows laying on the duvet he had placed on the sand. “Wow, this is actually really nice.” You said, sitting down next to the nervous boy. Rafe smirked, admiring your features glowing under the sunset’s light. He couldn’t tell, but you were trying your best to not look at him, guilt washing you over as soon as you started thinking he looked hot tonight. You weren’t supposed to feel this way. “Don’t look at me like that.” You said, looking at the horizon. “I— I wasn’t,” You chuckled. “I can’t help it.” He admitted, swallowing hard as you looked back at him. “Did you tell your friends about our date?” He asked. “Of course not, and you didn’t say anything to yours either, right?” He shook his head, making you laugh. “I don’t even understand what I'm doing here.” “Stop pretending you’re not attracted to me,” You laughed nervously. “I know you feel it too.” “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You lied, your cheeks heating up under his intense gaze once again. “Listen, i’m sorry for the— everything.” “Rafe Cameron, apologizing,” You smiled at the irony. “That’s very unexpected. Is that your way to get into my pants, Cameron?” The Kook boy coughed, drinking a few sips of his beer to cool down. “I— No.” He said, shaking his head. “You don’t want to have sex with me?” His eyes widened at the question. “Yes, I mean— No.” He groaned, while you simply laughed at his frustration. His eyes went down your thighs, those thighs. “Cameron… Don’t.” You warned, his eyes meeting yours and finding a sudden touch of desire in them. “God—“ You groaned, pulling on your skirt with embarrassment. “This is so weird.” He slowly leaned his head towards yours. “I wanna touch you, so bad.” He murmured, his lips dangerously close to yours. You surprised yourself by briefly looking at his own, secretly wanting to taste them. “I—“ You paused, goosebumps now covering your skin as you felt his fingers wandering along your thigh. You looked down, enjoying the sight of his large hand resting on your thigh. “You want it.” He said, clearly amused by your reaction to his touch. “Wh— What? No!” You objected, smacking his hand away in panic. “But—“ “I— I wanna go home!” You blurted out, getting up and walking away from a very confused Rafe Cameron. Truth is, you wanted this as much as he did but you couldn’t lose your composure, not with him.
A few days passed since your catastrophic date with Rafe. And he’s been avoiding the country club since then, which annoyed you way more than it should’ve had. You ended up missing seeing him, searching for the tall boy’s silhouette everywhere at the club, to only find a void eating you alive. The Pogues knew something was wrong: noticing your silence, how much you were lost in your thoughts and the certain sadness occupying your gaze. You blamed it all on insomnia, too scared to admit your attraction to Rafe Cameron, their enemy.
You saw him again at Midsummers, finally. You were working with your friends that night, not expecting to see him walking in with his family, and a beautiful woman at his arm. You weren’t supposed to feel jealous, but couldn’t help it. He looked at you for the first time in a week, his deep blue eyes not leaving you as he kissed his date on the cheek at, asshole. “Is everything alright, Y/N?” Pope asked, walking up to you. “Yes...” You mumbled, faking a smile. “I— I need to use the bathroom, i’ll be right back.” He nodded, watching you leave, catching the Kook boy’s eyes following you through the crowd.
Once you were inside, you let out a sigh, both hands holding on the edges of the sink as you enjoyed the silence. Rafe ended up following you to the bathroom, a bit worried. He knocked on the door without introducing himself, forcing you to move back to it. “What are you doing here?” You asked, looking at the tall boy standing on the doorstep. “I saw you leaving and—“ You snorted, interrupting him. “Shouldn’t you be with your date, Cameron?” He smirked, sensing the bitterness in your question. “Jealous, Y/N?” He briefly looked behind him, examining the empty hallway, before pushing you back inside as he walked in. He closed the door and locked it, without breaking eye-contact. “I’m not jealous.” You lied, taking a better look at his appearance. He looked sensational in his baby-blue suit, your curiosity wondering how his muscles looked underneath it. “You’re the one who rejected me, remember?” He continued, leaning against the door, repulsing the urge to touch you. “Because all of this doesn’t make any sense!” You snapped out of frustration, scratching your head. “W— We are not supposed to do this, we are not supposed to feel this way.” He licked his lips, walking up to you. “We?” You rolled your eyes at his usual cockiness, crossing your arms. “Did you miss me, Y/N?” He asked, caressing your cheekbone with his thumb, going down your bottom lip as he held your chin with his fingers: the action sending shivers down your spin. You fluttered your eyes, enjoying the feeling. “Look at you, getting weak under my touch.” You opened your eyes, annoyed. “Fuck you.” You hissed, hitting his toned chest, both hands finding their way to his neck. “I will.” He said, pushing against the wall, making you whine. “Rafe—“ He slammed his lips against yours in a passionate kiss, the both of you fighting for dominance with your tongues as he kept his hands on your hips, pulling you closer to him. You were finally tasting them, tasting him: and it was even better than you had imagined it. “Fuck—“ He moaned against your lips, the both of you craving way more than a kiss, the both of you needing to feel the void. “Jump, baby.” He ordered in a whisper, kissing your jawline as he smacked your ass. You obeyed, wrapping your legs around his clothed body and letting the Kook boy carry you to the sink counter. Your hands went directly to his belt, a soft moan escaping your lips as Rafe licked your neck, leaving wet kisses all over skin. “Listen to me,” He said, grabbing your jaw to look at you in the eyes, your neediness driving him insane. “We’re gonna have to make it quick, alright?” You nodded, blushing as you felt your stomach twitch at the sound of his voice. “Good girl.” You moaned at his words, watching him unbuttoning your blouse. You had sex with Rafe Cameron for the first time that night, but it wouldn’t be the last.
The next day, you didn’t know what to expect from him. However, you were both eager to see each other again. You saw him during the day, while walking down the stairs to meet someone at the bar. A sudden shyness invaded you, your cheeks heating up at the thought of him: pulling on your hair, calling you his, choking you, controlling your body, cumming inside you. He noticed you, following you in the hallway and gently grabbing your wrist to turn you around, a devilish smirk on his face. “Hey, you come here often?” He asked, stroking the back of your hand with his thumb. “Rafe…” You laughed, admiring the few marks on his neck. “Last night—“ “Last night was fucking amazing.” You smirked, biting your lower lip. “Yeah, maybe we should do it again someday.” You said. “Yeah, maybe we should…” You hummed, getting lost in his blue eyes, ignoring the noises surrounding the two of you. Last night, Rafe made you feel alive, and you were already dying to feel it again, no matter how inappropriate it was. You sighed, grabbing the tall boy’s face, pulling him in a heated kiss, listening to your heart rather than your head. You both pulled away, out of breath and turned on. “The closet?” Rafe suggested, driven by lust. “Please.”
And it happened again, again and again. You decided to stop counting at some point, enjoying each time like it was the last one. You guys were having sex everywhere, at any time of the day and night, it felt like an addiction: at the country club, at parties (which was dangerous), at his house (in his room, the shower, the pool, his dad’s office) and yours, in the back of his truck or even on the beach. You both liked it rough, but sometimes it turned into soft-love making: “What’s wrong, Rafe?” You asked, coming out of the bathroom and noticing the crying boy sitting on your bed. “What happened?” You walked up to him, kneeling down between his legs. “Hey, look at me.” You said, cupping his face and wiping the tears away with your thumbs. “My dad he’s—“ He paused, his voice cracking. “It’s okay, Rafe...” You whispered, leaning your forehead against his, sitting on his lap. “You’re safe here.” You reassured him, kissing his forehead. Rafe hugged you tight, a few tears rolling down his cheeks. “Do you want anything?” He looked up, sniffing with a sad smile. “You.” He murmured, the confession making you smile.
He held you the whole time, needing to feel you close to him as much as possible because you were the one making him feel safe and loved. His lips barely left yours, moaning and whispering the sweetest words against it. He looked at you in the eyes, pounding into you at a slower pace, smiling wide as you begged the Kook boy for more. He couldn’t stop admiring the beautiful girl underneath him: scratching his back with fierceness, crying in pleasure and screaming for him and only him. He really wanted this moment to last forever, and for the first time he didn’t leave afterwards, letting you fall asleep in his strong arms, holding you close to his heart: where you definitely belonged.
The Pogues knew you were seeing someone: you were constantly on your phone, ditching plans without explanation and quite often wearing bruises around your neck. However, Rafe wasn’t your boyfriend, yet. You both really liked each other, but didn’t know how to express it: your hookups sessions were turning into something more, which seemed a bit scary to you at times. Truth is, even though you both agreed on keeping this as a secret, you really wanted to talk about it to someone, craving advice and reassurance. And it seemed like the universe had heard your prayers, as Sarah caught the two of you having sex in your kitchen the other night.
“Rafe...“ You moaned, bent over the counter. “Fuck— I missed you so much.” He groaned at your words, pulling on your hair as he roughly pounded into you from behind. “Shit— Pretty girl.” You cried, gripping on the edges for dear life. “This is what you get,“ He smacked your ass. “For flirting with a guy in front of me.” “I— I wasn’t flirting with him!” You gasped, his arms pulling you back against his sweaty chest, his lips sucking on your neck as he pounded deeper into you through the new angle. “Shut up.” “Fuck, Rafe—“ He smiled against your skin, loving the power he had on you. “You’re taking me so well, baby. Look at you, getting fucked in the kitchen. You like that, huh?” You cried at his words, your hands holding on his arms for support. “Cum for me.” He murmured, hitting your g-spot, your legs shaking at the impact. You were about to, until someone arrived in the kitchen: Sarah, holding your backpack in hands. “Y/N, you forgot your—“ She paused, screaming in horror at the sight of the two of you: breathless, moaning mess. “Shit— Sarah!” You tried to call her, but she threw the backpack on the floor before running towards the front door. “Well, it was obviously going to happen at some point.” Rafe said, pulling out of you and putting his pants on. “I told you to lock the door.” You hissed, grabbing your dress off the ground. Rafe looked at you, noticing the panic submerging you as you struggled. “Hey, hey, hey,” He whispered, gently cupping your face. “Look at me, Y/N. It’s fine, don’t worry.” You pushed him away, dressing up in a rush. “This is not okay— I’ve been lying to my friends for weeks, they’re gonna be so—“ Rafe turned you around, pulling you against him. “You need to calm down, okay? I’m sure they’ll understand, and it’s actually none of their business.” You sighed, kissing his bare chest, your arms wrapping themselves around him. “I’ll stay with you, if you want.” He said, kissing the top of your head. “So… About what we were doing ten minutes ago.” He continued with a smirk, squeezing your ass. “Get out of my house, Cameron.” You said, playfully pushing the Kook boy away. “Your little sister just caught us having sex.”
Rafe dragged you inside his house, holding your hand. “Come on, Y/N.” He said, kissing your temple. “Stay in the perimeter, in case she tries to kill me.” You whispered, glancing at his blond sister walking in the kitchen. Rafe laughed, placing a soft kiss on your lips before letting go of your hand. You sighed, walking inside the quiet room, looking at your friend sitting down at the table with a bowl of fruits. “What do you want, Y/N? Condoms?” She joked, looking away. “Sarah—“ “I can’t believe it, you’ve been fucking my brother for weeks, without telling me.” You crossed your arms, nervously biting your lower lip. “I— I’m sorry. I was scared, because it’s obviously very problematic—“ Sarah chuckled, looking back at you. “No shit, Y/N!” She said, falling back into her chair. “First of all, my brother is an asshole, he doesn't deserve you. Second of all, he hurt our friends many times!” “I know, I feel guilty about us everyday, Sarah!” You shouted, walking up to her. “I don’t know how it happened, but i really like him and—” “Oh my god, tell me you’re not in love with my brother.” She said, visibly disgusted. “He’s not that bad, he’s actually sweet at times. Come on, Sarah. I was the first one to defend you and John B!” The Kook girl sighed, trying to understand how someone like you could love someone like Rafe. “I don’t want you to get hurt. You’re one of my best friends, Y/N.” She said, giving you a tiny smile. “I’m traumatized by the way.” She added, grimacing at the idea of his brother and you having sex. “Please, don’t be mad at me. I— I know this is weird, but i liked being around him and i feel like i might have a good influence on him.” “Of course you have a good influence on him, you’re adorable. But we can’t trust him.” You looked down, crossing your arms. “We are not dating, it’s just—” “You need to tell the others, especially JJ.” You looked back at her, eyes widening. “No way! JJ’s gonna kill him, we all know how dramatic he can be.” Sarah nodded. “Do you really want him to find out the same way I did?” You sighed, shaking your head. Maybe it was time to tell everyone.
Today, you weren’t feeling well, a bit stressed by the whole situation. However, you were excited to see Rafe again at the country club. But when you walked in the dining room, your smile disappeared almost instantly, your eyes leaning on the beautiful woman sitting next to him, the one who accompanied him at the Midsummers. She looked flawless and visibly older than you, probably closer to his age. “Take their order, Y/N.” Your manager said. You sighed, walking up to their table, shaking in your shoes. You saluted Ward, ignoring the Kook boy and his date, the sight of them making you feel sick to your stomach. You started overthinking, wondering if he had been fucking her too, the whole time he was seeing you. You could feel his eyes on you, the intensity distracting you and making you choke on your words as you took their order. “I— Alright, Sir.” You walked away, running out of the room once you were done, hiding in the bathroom where it all started. But this time, Rafe didn’t follow you, his absence breaking your heart.
A few days passed since the last time you saw him at the country club. And he has been acting dead ever since. “Y/N?” JJ asked, stroking your shoulder. “What’s going on? You’re usually excited to eat one of my burgers.” You smirked, turning to the blond boy. “I’m excited!” You faked enthusiasm, trying to ignore the pain you’ve been feeling all night. “Don’t lie to me.” He said, narrowing his eyes and sitting down next to you on the couch. “Is it about that guy you’re seeing? Do you want me to kick his ass?” You chuckled, looking at his clenched fists. “Tough day at work, that’s all.” You said, standing up. “Y/N…” He groaned, watching you walk to John B’s kitchen. “Come on, tell me the truth.” He begged, following you. “Did he hurt you?” Yes. “Can’t we just talk about something else, JJ?” “I hooked up with this—“ You turned around smacking his chest. “You’re so annoying.” You said, rolling your eyes at his amusement. “I don’t want to talk about him, it’s probably not even relevant anymore.” You opened the fridge, giving the blond the ingredients. “You guys broke up or?” You sighed, of course he wasn’t going to let it go. “We weren’t together, we were just… seeing each other.” JJ hummed in response, walking towards the counter. “I don’t know what you’re hiding but—” You weren’t listening anymore, looking into space, rethinking about your conversation with Sarah the other day. “JJ? I— I fucked Rafe Cameron.” You blurted out, the confession surprising him. He let everything fall on the counter before turning towards you, eyes filled with anger. “Please, JJ. Don’t be mad at me. I— I wanted to tell you but i didn’t know how.” He clenched his jaw, walking up to you. “Rafe Cameron? Out of all the guys?” He laughed nervously, ready to raise his voice. “Are you fuckinf kidding me, Y/N?” He shouted at your face, giving you goosebumps. “I’m so sorry…” You cried, looking away. JJ’s features softened at the sight of your tears, guilt washing his anger away. “Don’t— Shit.” He sighed, pulling you into a hug. “Don’t cry, Y/N. I’m sorry for yelling at you, it’s just—“ He paused, the sound of your sobs breaking his heart. He knew something was wrong, he couldn’t be the only one responsible for your breakdown. “What happened?” He asked, caressing your hair, still shocked by the news. “I’m so stupid.” You murmured, head pressed against his chest. “I love him.” JJ sighed, holding you tight. “I won’t let anyone hurt you.” He murmured back, already picturing himself fighting the Kook boy.
“Okay, i’ll be there in ten minutes.” You said, holding the phone close to your ear as you left your house. “No, JJ. I won’t give you my bra to try it on. I don’t care if it’s a bet—” You whined, rolling your eyes and closing the door behind you. “Whatever, see you guys soon.” You hung up, then walked towards your car, entering the driveway when you noticed someone leaned against the vehicle: Rafe. “Leave me alone.” You hissed, trying to shut down your emotions. He looked hot, as always, his devilish smirk still present on his perfectly sculpted face. “I’m serious, Rafe.” You said, pushing him to the right, the Kook boy grabbing your hips with both hands in the act. “Let me explain, Y/N.” You pushed him away, this time with way more strength. “Explain, what? How you fucked someone else behind my back? Because you’re ashamed to be seen with a Pogue?” He frowned, shaking his head. “What are you talking about—“ “I’m eighteen years old, still living with my parents, working at the country club and driving an old car. I’m not some model in her twenties, born into a rich family.” Rafe sighed, passing a hand over his face, tears emerging from the corner of your eyes. “Baby…” He said, trying to take your hand but failing. "Don't— You disappeared for a week.” You tried to open the car door, but he closed it immediately with his hand. “Rafe!” You whined, containing your tears. “Let me explain, Y/N.” He begged, turning you around and slamming you against the vehicle, leaning his face dangerously close to yours. You both looked at each other for a second, wanting to close the gap between the two of you. “I—“ You started, swallowing hard. “I don’t know what to do, kissing you or punching you in the fucking face, Cameron.” He smirked, caressing your cheek. “Nothing happened between us, trust me. Michelle comes from a rich family and my father tried to set us up.” You nodded, sighing. “So, are you married now?” “I told him about us, about my feelings for you.” Your lips parted. “But— But you left and—“ “Remember the last time i did that? The week before Midsummers?” You nodded. “I was dealing with some issues.” You frowned. “Are you talking about drugs? I thought you were—“ “Clean?” He laughed, the sadness in his tone hitting you. “I’m never high around you, because you make me feel better, because you’re my escape.” A tear rolled down your cheek, which he wiped away with his thumb. “But the shit my dad was putting through— it triggered me.” “Why didn’t you call me, Rafe? You can always count on me.” “I know, but after what happened at the club… I felt like shit for hurting you, i didn’t mean to. When you left the room— I really wanted to follow you.” You couldn’t hold back anymore, grabbing his face and pulling him into a soft kiss. “I— I think i’m in love with you, Rafe.” You murmured, your forehead resting against his. “I think i’m in love with you too, Y/N.” He replied, smiling, both hands now holding your shaking ones and giving them soft kisses.
That night, you decided to tell everyone at the Chateau: Rafe driving you to the location and accompanying you. You were nervous, holding his hand as you both walked to the backyard, where your friends were talking. “What the fuck?” Pope asked, being the first one to notice the Kook boy next to you. “Holy shit—“ Kiara mumbled, her eyes stuck on your hands. “What is he doing here?” John B asked, standing up. “What the—“ Sarah covered his mouth with her hand, winking at you. “What’s going on, Y/N?” Kie asked, looking at everyone with confusion. JJ remained silent, examining your boyfriend with a clenched jaw. “We— We are dating.” You said, leaning your head against Rafe’s chest, craving some protection. “Is this a joke?” Pope asked, while your other friends seemed disappointed. “I know he’s been a real asshole—“ “What the fuck!” Kie shouted, standing up. “You were hooking up with him the whole time?” “I’m genuinely sorry for lying to you guys! But—“ You paused, trembling in your boyfriend’s arms, as he held you close to him. “I didn’t premeditated to fall in love with him.” You continued, glancing at Rafe. “I still don’t understand how you managed to make her fall in love with you.” JJ said, looking at his boots. “Wait,” John B said, glancing back and forth between us. “You already knew about this?” “She told me yesterday.” Sarah sighed. “And i caught them having sex in her kitchen.” Kie fake-gagged, looking away. “You had sex in a kitchen?” Pope asked, eyes widening. “Oh my god, shut up.” Kie said, slapping the back of his head. Rafe cleared his throat. “I really like— Love, Y/N.” He said, looking at your friends. “I fucked up in the past, but i won’t bother any of you ever again.” He promised, your arms wrapping themselves around his waist, the small gesture making his heart melt. “Gross…” JJ murmured, looking away. “I know it’s gonna take you guys some time to fully accept and understand but—“ “You defended me, when Sarah and I started dating. I won’t judge you, but i can’t trust him.” John B said, looking at Rafe. “If you hurt her—“ “I won’t.” Your friends looked at each other, still a bit lost and overwhelmed by all of this.
After a few months, your friends were starting to accept your relationship with the Kook boy a bit more: inviting him and his friends to parties, hanging out with the two of you, all of this without causing any drama. It wasn’t easy at first, especially for JJ who’s always been protective, but he knew you were truly happy with Rafe and it was the most important to him. Your parents loved him, especially your mother, who finds him extremely charming, obviously. “I think your mother likes me.” Rafe whispered, glancing at the older woman from across the table. “She definitely has a crush on you.” “The mom and the daughter? Sounds like—“ “If you say porn, you’re gonna have to watch some for a while.” You warned, crossing your arms. Rafe chuckled, caressing your bare thigh under the table. “That’s sweet,” He said, leaning his lips closer to your ear. “We both know you can’t resist me.” “I have other options waiting for me.” You teased back, smirking at him. “Really?” He asked, his thumb caressing your inner-thigh, getting dangerously close to your center. “Well, we’ll talk about it later then.” He said, his eyes getting darker and your whole body shivering at his words. You already knew the outcome of this conversation, your legs already shaking at the idea. “Appreciate them while you can, baby.” He said, moving his hand to your knee. “You’re not gonna be able to use them for a while.”
uhuhuhuh, the end.

Miss You More
Louis Tomlinson x Singer! Reader
Masterlist
Word Coung: 2.5k
Warnings: swearing, death, cancer, mentions of death
Disclaimer: Miss You More is an actual song that I wrote, and it isn’t published or anything, but it’s one I wrote about the loss of my grandfather, and so I may link it here if I feel like it so you know what the song is and what it’s about, there are just a few words you’d have to change, but anyways!
A/N: Heylo! I’m going to be honest with you, this is not my favorite thing I’ve ever written, and it’s a little corny, and poorly worded, but eh. It’s one am, I’m going to sleep after this! Anyways, I hope y’all enjoy! Thank you, and have a nice day!
——————
Ever since you were a child, you knew you wanted to sing.
It all started with your mum. When you were little, she’d always sing to you, every night before you went to bed.
Soon enough, you began singing back to her, and she loved every second of it.
You sang together every chance you got, singing in the car, in the house, at parties, even when you walked the dog together through your neighborhood.
She had encouraged you to make a YouTube channel for your music, knowing you’d make it big. At first, you were hesitant, not confident enough to post your voice on the internet, but you finally agreed weeks later.
You mostly did covers at first. Of course, your 14-year-old self didn’t know what she was doing. All she knew was that she was doing something she loved.
About a year after making the channel, you began making custom content. You learned to play the guitar and you’d use it almost every second. You took it everywhere. Well, everywhere you knew you’d be able to show off.
The songs were mostly about crushes and school and friends, the main things circling around your life at the time.
But it all changed when you were sixteen.
It was no secret your mother had cancer. She had since you were little, yet she had kept fighting it, succeeding for a few years.
The doctors had said she was getting better, on her way to becoming cured, well, as cured as she could be.
But out of nowhere, it plunged. She was coughing up blood, and could barely stand, needing assistance to go the bathroom. It just kept getting worse.
One of the worst parts of losing your mum was the fact that it was the holiday season, ruining the time of year for your family for years to come.
You remembered her final day alive. She was laying in the hospital bed, lips chapped and all colored drained from her face. Her lips were bloodied as well, reminisce of the blood she had hacked up minutes ago.
Your father and siblings were there beside her. Your father held your little brother, he was four at the time, and your younger sister was standing next to you, she was twelve. Alex didn’t fully understand what was happening, he just knew his mum wasn’t well, and he mostly hid his face in your father’s shoulder.
Morgan, however, understood exactly what was happening, and she was crying beside you. She was trying her best to hold back, maintaining a straight stance and trying to hide her shaking hands. You watched as tears flooded down her face, making small wet patches on the sheets.
You looked at your mum, studying her. She had done so much for all of you, but there was nothing you could do for her as she layed in the bed, motionless, save for her eyes, darting between all of you.
You knew how much singing meant to your mother, and so you did the only thing you knew you could do. You sang.
Her favorite holiday song was Silver Bells, so you started the song, your family soon joining in. Your mother smiled gratefully at all of you.
She joined in towards the chorus, her voice still weak, but just as beautiful as when you first heard it.
Those were your last moments with your mother.
She passed away hours later, the anticipated news crushing your family.
You had all slept together that night, knowing you couldn’t be apart. Alex didn’t know what had happened, and you knew your father couldn’t handle it, so you had stepped in, trying to explain to the boy that his mum was gone, and she wasn’t coming back.
After she passed, you had stopped uploading to your channel, getting emotional every time you even tried singing.
But months later, you had decided not to give up. Instead, you chose to move forward. You started writing again.
The song you were writing was about your mother, it seemed fitting. You knew no amount of words could ever sum up your relationship with her, nor your grief, but you tried your best in the song.
You had spent a few months writing the song, not it a rush. You were pouring your heart into this song, and if it was rushed, you knew it’d have no meaning, just some words with a few riffs thrown in.
A few days after your seventeenth birthday, you uploaded the video onto your account, the first video uploaded since your mother had died.
After uploading it, you decided to turn your computer off for the night. You knew how obsessive you got with checking your feedback, you normally refreshed the page until your fingers were sore.
Instead, you walked into the kitchen, guitar forgotten. You hadn’t shared the song with your family yet, and you knew you needed to do acapella, it was much more fitting.
You were scared of how they were going to react, especially your dad and Morgan.
Immediately after finishing the song, Morgan tackled you in a hug, burying her head in your shoulder, “Thank you,” she mumbled and you pelt tears pricking your eyes.
Your dad stood, his hand over his mouth. Alex was sitting at the table, eating his cereal. You waited in silence for a few moments, waiting for your dad to say something, but nothing.
Alex interrupted the silence, “That’s the first time I’ve heard you sing in a while, sissy,” he said, a wide grin. You don’t know where your family would be without Alex. He knew exactly how to light up a whole room, he knew how to make people feel better.
“I know, bud,” you smiled and he gave you a toothy grin, turning back to his cereal.
You dad finally let out a small, choked sob, “I miss her so much,” he said, opening his arms. You quickly collapsed in them. He was the one you wanted approval from the most.
“I do too, Dad,” you whispered.
Years later, you found yourself at Triple Strings Record Label.
A man sat in front of you, shuffling through some papers at his desk. He sighed loudly, and shoved the papers aside, giving you his full attention, “So, miss L/N, we’ve heard some of your work, and were quiet big fans,” he said, folding his hands in front of him.
“Thank you,” you smiled nervously, and he glanced at the clock.
“Well, my name is Bryan, Bryan Detreon. I’m an agent here for all the upcoming stars in the music industry, although I can’t take credit for finding you, that goes to the creator of the label himself,” he chuckled and you froze.
“Wait, the owner as in, like, Louis Tomlinson?” You asked, suddenly sitting up in your chair.
Of course you knew who Louis Tomlinson was. You were a year younger than him, grew up with him on the screen and on the radio.
He let out a small laugh, “Yeah, as in Louis Tomlinson, he found you personally and requested you be brought in. He’s offering you a contract, I’ve emailed it to you, but I’d like to go over it now, just to point out some things! Now, he said to take as much time as you needed to decide. You can have a lawyer look over this if you’d like, and just back to us when you have an answer! Although, he’d probably prefer to have it before the beginning of his tour! Oh yeah! He wants you as his one opening act!” He finished, pushing a copy of the document towards you.
You took a second to process what he had said, and when you finally had. You nearly fell out of your chair. “He wants me to open for him?!”
“Yup,” he continued as if it were nothing. “Now, in the first section…” you tuned him out, you’d read it at home.
Louis fucking Tomlinson wanted you to open for him. How were you supposed to say no? Your dream come true, after years of posting on YouTube and going to school to study music, hoping someone would find you, and it had all led to this.
Twenty-six years of your life, all leading up to this moment.
“Any questions?” Bryan asked, locking eyes with your
You quickly shook your head, gathering your stuff and standing up. “Nope, thank you so much for this opportunity, I will definitely look it over and email you as soon as I know! Thank you!” You rambled, and ran out the door, trying to rush home.
“I got fucking signed!” You screamed into the empty household. You had your own place, but you felt the need to run to your family’s home to share the news.
Your dad walked in from the kitchen, Alex trailing behind him. Alex was fourteen now, which now meant he was starting to call horn father out on his bullshit, not that there was much.
“Welcome home to you too,” your Dad teased, and Alex looked up, his face instantly lighting up. He ran and wrapped his arms around you, he was beginning to tower over you.
“I missed you,” he grumbled, trying to hide his face.
You laughed and patted his back, “I missed you too bud.”
“What’s this about being signed?” Morgan strolled into the room, she was still living at home, finishing her last semester of university. She had grown into a beautiful woman, looking almost identical to your mother.
“Right! So, I got a call and email about an interview, and it said to meet at the Sony label here, and to go to the Triple String label office! I get there, and the guy tells me that they’re huge fans and want me to sign a contract with them! Turns out, LOUIS FUCKING TOMLINSON WANTS ME TO OPEN FOR HIM!” You screamed, not caring about the neighbors.
Morgan swooped you into a hug, you hated being the shortest. “Aw, my big sis is going to be a pop star!”
Months later, you stood backstage, picking at your sleeve. You glanced behind the curtain and saw hundreds of people standing and an endless chatter.
It was your first show of the tour, you had rehearsed hundreds of times, but that did nothing to settle your nerves.
Louis only had one opening act. You. You were all the crowd got before him, so you had to impress them.
You felt someone grab your waist from behind, as you nearly jumped out of your skin. You heard a small giggle in response, recognizing the voice.
You turned to playfully glare at Louis, your boyfriend of four months. You had bonded during rehearsals, and bonded over your similar life experiences, and soon enough, you had begun dating.
Only a handful of people knew, his family, and the crew on tour with you. You weren’t prepared to tell your family yet.
“What are you lookin at?” He asked, wrapping an arm around you. You rested your head on his chest.
“Just looking at the crowd, it’s huge,” you mumbled and he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
“It’ll be alright, they’ll love you,” he assured, and you smiled at him, grateful for his company.
“Thank you Lou,” you went to give him a proper kiss, but you were interrupted by the stage manager, telling you it was time for you to get in your position.
You quickly waved Louis goodbye, and ran to your platform under the stage, the one that you’d be rising up on in seconds.
They gave you a countdown, and a crew member handed you a mic.
On one, they hauled you up, your hand already in their places.
You were met with a roar of cheers and applause as you surfaced, singing one of your most popular songs, ‘Don’t Start With Me Now,’ written about an old, toxic, best friend.
It was thrilling, hearing the people singing your lyrics back to you, you were shocked they knew them. Being on stage gave you adrenaline you’d never experienced before, and soon, all your nerves flooded away.
As you finished your song, you heard the crowd erupted into cheers, whistles being scattered throughout the crowd. Monologue time.
“Hey guys!” You greeted. “My name is Y/N L/N, and I have been chosen by the honorable host, Louis Tomlinson, to open the show up for you guys! I won’t be up here for long, just enough time to play a few more songs, but don’t worry, I’ll be back soon enough!” You hinted, the crowd screaming in response.
You played through all of the songs you’d written, well, except for one. You hadn’t played Miss You More yet, there was a surprise to come later on.
You gave a farewell to the audience, and stepped off stage, the hair and make-up people touching you up before you could even regain your footing.
Louis didn’t particularly like breaks, so the second you were off the platform, he was getting on.
You stood by, waiting for your cue.
The stage manager nodded, and you stepped onto the platform, your dress changed into a skirt and a nice blouse, courtesy of the costume department.
“Now, I have a special guest here to be with me on stage tonight. We both lost our mothers, when they were both remarkably young, and both to cancer. We’ve both written songs about it, and we thought we’d make a mash-up for you guys tonight!” He exclaimed, and the crowd's cheers nearly popped your ear.
Your platform began moving up, revealing you to the crowd. The cheers echoed through the stadium, and you smiled, waving at them, taking your place beside Louis.
You were counted in, and your mashup of Two of Us and Miss You More began. It was one of your favorite things you’d ever taken part in creating, having input from both you and Louis, not just some producers telling you what to do. This was all you.
The last chords of the song bellowed throughout the stadium. The audience’s cries and shouts of praise filled the room once again.
You looked over at Louis, who was busy admiring the crowd, his blue eyes lit up, a genuine smile on his face. It was at this moment that you realized something; you were in love with this man.
His eyes finally caught yours, and he gestured to the crowd, who was still burning as bright as before.
You smiled and whispered, “I love you.”
You knew Louis had gotten great and lip readings he had basically mastered it.
He quickly out his mic back on the stand and pulled you into a hug, leaning down to say something into your ear, just loud enough so you could hear, “I love you too.”
The next day, Louis was pulled into an interview before you headed to the next location. The questions were pretty simple ones, mostly openers for him to promote the movie, but there was one question at the end that made you both smile.
“What song did you fall in love to?”
You knew the answer.

Alex, Reggie, Flynn and Kyle all sat at a table inside the record store while Willie took care of closing procedures, currently sweeping up around them. Flynn sipped on her soda, eyeing everyone else with a mix of piqued interest and uncertainty.
“I can let you guys stay and talk for about another half hour, but then I’ve gotta kick you out,” Kyle told the three at the table.
“Thanks,” Alex said. “We really appreciate you being so understanding.”
“Not at all,” Kyle said casually. “And Willie’s in the clear, so long as he never pulls a stunt like that again.”
“Thanks for covering for me, man,” Willie said repentantly at Kyle’s rightfully miffed tone.
“I also covered the cost for that jacket, so you owe me for that.”
Alex looked at him, still unable to wrap what had just happened around his head. Climbing somewhere high and screaming felt like an ideal thing to do right then. He wasn’t angry - at least, he didn’t think so - but he still felt like a bottle of Coke that someone had just shaken and dropped a Mento into. His punching bag was already being worn down enough, but since he didn’t have his drums at home it had been a lifesaver recently.
There was Willie, right in front of him, like a miracle. He was so wonderfully unaware of everything, and there was no doubt he hadn’t forgotten Alex. It brought a strange sense of euphoria that battled everything else that had kept his mind dark for so long. He’d used to imagine running into Willie, even for a while after Caleb said he was gone, and thought he’d be the one to catch Willie off guard and rush toward him with joy. Mostly, he’d wanted to knock Willie off his board as slight payback for that one time, but also because it would’ve been satisfying to surprise him for once.
Kyle had gotten up from the table and joined Willie in closing up the store.
“So, you guys all know each other, huh?” he asked.
“Yeah!” Flynn exclaimed. “And I’d like to think that it’s all thanks to me,” she added smugly.
“How so?” Reggie asked in curiosity.
“I helped Willie get into Julie’s concert in Vegas,” she said. “And I’m the reason you two stuck around here.”
Alex looked at her in surprise. Without Flynn, he imagined going with Willie to the Stratosphere or anything else that night wouldn’t have happened. He owed her a serious favor; he wasn’t going to forget that.
“Are you sure you don’t have, like, magic powers or something?” Reggie asked.
Flynn only smiled and quietly sipped her soda again, keeping the mystique for herself.
As Willie disappeared into the kitchen to clean there, Alex looked at Reggie.
“So, do you have as many questions as I do?” he asked.
“Yeah, man,” Reggie said, peeking back toward the kitchen door. “I mean, does Caleb not know?”
“For someone out of the loop,” Flynn butted in. “What’s going on?”
Alex shifted uncomfortably in his seat and took in a deep breath. “So you know how we got signed?”
Flynn nodded. “Uh huh. And congratulations, by the way.”
Alex merely shrugged in acknowledgement.
“Well, the guy who owns the label used to be Willie’s caretaker.”
“Oh, I didn’t know that,” Reggie muttered. Alex suddenly felt a little guilty for missing that detail when talking with the guys.
“Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention it,” he apologized. “Anyway, the day that we signed on, Caleb personally told me that Willie had died in a fire.”
Flynn stared in disbelief.
“Wow,” she said. “That’s fishy.”
“No kidding,” Reggie commented. “But why would he do that? Caleb’s been nothing but good to us.”
“You guys should be careful. He was Willie’s guardian? If his story is that far off, I’d watch out.”
Peering over toward the kitchen, Alex couldn’t get a view of Willie at all. He was dying to hear his side of things.
“I guess we’ll have to see. Flynn, how are you getting home?”
“Oh, I was just gonna take the bus.”
“With your equipment?” he said, already worried. It was a lot for her to be lugging around, whether she could carry it alone or not. “Flynn, let us get you a taxi.”
She looked at him, and he expected her to protest and say she could handle herself. To his surprise, she simply huffed.
“You’re right. It’s getting late.”
“Yeah, and one of us could go with you to make sure you get home safe.”
“I’ll go,” Reggie volunteered. He glanced at Alex and it was clear he was giving him an opportunity.
“Thanks Reggie,” Flynn said. “You guys have gotta keep me updated with everything going on, though. I smell drama. A lot of it.” She finished the last few gulps of her soda and stood up to grab her gear.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, man,” Reggie murmured to Alex, patting him as he rose to help her out.
“See you.”
As he watched them make their way outside, Alex sighed.
“So, Vegas, huh?” Kyle said as he reentered the room, making him jump.
“Uh, yeah,” Alex replied warily. This guy seemed fairly nice, but he could never be too careful about how much he told strangers. He watched him dust the shelves, trying to relax in his seat.
“Willie doesn’t talk about it much, so I’m kinda surprised he had such a reaction tonight. I got the idea he hated the place.”
Puzzled, Alex didn’t respond immediately. He wondered what could’ve happened.
“Well, I’m sure he has his reasons. But when I met him we had a pretty good time.”
“Hmm,” was all that Kyle said as he looked into space thoughtfully before moving on to locking things up.
Alex realized then that he was the only customer left in the store and he’d simply let his friends leave him. His head was certainly not on straight. The time was nearly midnight, and the options of transportation and his experiences with them only dialed up his anxiety. Busses were just weird because everyone could watch him, taxis were expensive and he’d given most of his cash to Reggie, and the chances of having Bobby pick him up were very low.
“Hey,” Willie was standing over him, skateboard in hand. Alex looked up, startled once again, but the feeling of Willie’s hand on his shoulder softened it.
“Hey.”
“Where did Reggie go?”
“Oh,” Alex started. “He’s making sure Flynn gets home safe.”
Nodding, Willie glanced outside.
“What about you?”
Alex rose with a sigh.
“I’ll figure something out.”
They left the store and slowly walked to the corner. Willie still gripped his board as he gazed up at the red hand on the opposite side of the street.
“Do you...wanna walk with me to my place?” he asked Alex. “‘Cuz you look like you want to talk. Then we can find you a way home.”
Sticking his tongue in his cheek, Alex eyed him thoughtfully. It was almost like they hadn’t just spent four months apart - Willie could read him like a book.
“Yeah, that sounds good.”
Unfortunately, that made him stuff his hands deeper into the pockets of his jacket. He’d let himself take Willie’s hand before and have high hopes because he’d let himself ignore reality back then. Even when the guy who he admittedly still had a crush on was back from the dead, Alex didn’t want to tempt fate again. As they both crossed the street, he felt himself hunch inward just as he had earlier with Reggie.
“So, I’m guessing it’s a little weird to see me, since you thought I was a goner and everything,” Willie started nervously.
“Dead,” Alex said, looking at him seriously. “You were dead.”
Willie slowed his pace and sucked in a breath.
“Yeah.”
For a few yards they didn’t speak. Something ate at Alex’s insides, and he couldn’t put a finger on it. Change had always been his worst enemy, but this was a good change. Willie was alive, then he was dead, and now he was back. It should’ve been like net zero change, cancelled out like math. He should be fine about this, right? Why was he not fine?
“Alex, are you...are you mad?” Willie dared to ask.
He paused in his tracks, arms slacking against his sides. Looking over at Willie, then down at the sidewalk again, he nodded.
“Yeah, actually.” Immediately the eating feeling worsened. “I don’t know why that is, but you’re right. I am kinda mad.”
Willie furrowed his brow, but remained quiet for a minute as they continued walking.
“Are you mad at me?” he wondered aloud, finally.
“Maybe?” Alex said, feeling the temperature in his veins rise the more he went on. “That sounds silly, I know, because it wasn’t you who lied to me and put me through absolute agony for weeks on end. You were just the person I thought was dead and so every time I thought about you, it hurt. I don’t even know why it hurt so much. It’s not supposed to hurt when you’re still practically a stranger to me. All I know is that we kind of liked each other and then I thought I’d never find out anything else. I mean, we only knew each other for one day. One fucking day. That was it!”
Alex saw Wilie flinch at the unexpected use of language. A little too late, he realized he should’ve been more gentle. While it was true that he needed to finally release more than just self-pity, it wasn’t worth making Willie miserable for it.
“Wow,” Willie murmured. It already sounded more wounded than Alex could bear.
“That was harsh; I shouldn’t have blown up like that.”
He looked over at Willie to be sure he hadn’t done too much damage already.
“I can’t imagine how awful that was,” Willie said simply.
The pressure that had heated up his veins rapidly began to cool down as Alex realized he was handling this all wrong. He’d momentarily lost control and already saw its potential for harm.
“It’s not you I’m mad at. It’s Caleb.”
“That makes two of us,” Willie told him. “You want to know what really happened?”
“I want to know everything.”
They continued walking along as Willie seemed to try summing up the past few months properly in his mind.
“I don’t know exactly where to start,” he said.
“Well, why don’t you start where we left off?” Alex suggested. It was only fitting that one of them was walking the other home, just like they’d been doing the last time they’d seen each other. There was a funny sense of poetry to it.
“Okay,” Willie began. “I guess what really started it was when we were up on the Stratosphere, remember?”
“Uh huh.”
“I told you that I have amnesia because I had a memory come back.”
“Right, about your dad.”
“You remember this really well,” Willie commented. Alex bowed his head, feeling his lip curl the tiniest bit. “Anyway, I started drawing the things I remembered. And I mean, I drew every detail I could. Even though back then it was just the one about my dad and then the first time that I ran away from Caleb - ”
“Wait, what?” Alex blurted.
Willie cocked his head to the side as he tried to keep the narrative easy to follow.
“Oh yeah that was weird, I had this dream where everything was backwards and it happened like every night and it took me forever to figure out that it was a memory. Anyway, the reason I have amnesia right now? I was trying to run from Caleb because he was a total a-hole and then I got hit in the head!”
Alex looked at his casual expression with mild horror.
“That’s a lot to process,” he said slowly.
“Yeah, I guess he was putting on a face after that, because he didn’t really get nasty until right before I left him for good.”
By the time Willie finished dishing everything to Alex, they had been standing by his front door for a solid ten minutes. Alex could only stand there and let everything turn over in his mind like a taffy pull. Moreover, a pit of dread was forming in his stomach at the same time as a spark of joy grew in his chest.
“So...Harrison Ford?” he said.
Willie smiled. “Much cooler than Han Solo.”
“I still can’t believe you were literally planning to skate your way here. Even I would’ve ruled that out after a minute.”
Lifting a hand defensively, Willie opened his mouth but couldn’t find words.
“I - I will never live that down,” he chuckled.
Alex chuckled in turn. “No.”
For a moment he just looked at Willie. It was the first time that night where his vision wasn’t clouded with questions or overwrought with mixed emotions. This time, it was just as he’d seen him that first moment when they’d sat across from each other at the diner. That was ages ago, but it didn’t seem to have dimmed or faded one bit in Alex’s memory. Here, he was just Willie. It was so nice to see that again.
“What made you come to LA?” he asked. He shuffled his feet awkwardly.
“You did.” Willie looked right into his eyes as he said it.
The words were plain and honest. Something swelled in Alex’s chest as he heard them. If anyone else had said that - the guys, Julie, even his sister Abby - he would’ve doubted it a little. That was the awful thing with his anxiety is that it immediately twisted everyone’s words into betrayal. Not Willie’s, though.
“Why me?”
Willie got thoughtful, eyes unfocused for a moment.
“I don’t know. I’d do anything for you,” he said, gazing back up at Alex again.
Alex shifted his weight.
“Because I helped you start regaining memories, right?”
It made sense that if he’d been in that position, the person who’d been with him in those moments would mean a great deal to him, too.
“No,” Willie said. “Just ‘cuz. I still like you.”
Alex blinked and his mind emptied of all thought - a feat he’d never imagined occurring. Soon he found himself caught looking into those brown eyes, and instead of wanting to throw in a line, he wished he could plant himself there and spread roots. If it were up to him, he had no desire to go back home and he would just stay happy where he was.
It took a while to realize that he’d slowly begun to lean forward, lips parted as he gazed down at Willie’s mouth. Their noses were just barely not touching, and they hung in the balance waiting for the other to cross that threshold. Willie looked vaguely hypnotized, if not a little indecisive. His thoughts finally caught up to his actions, and once Alex saw what he was doing he turned away.
Dammit, how could you mess that up, Alex? he berated himself. He was already so out of focus and not thinking about the consequences of his actions; he couldn’t go around treating Willie like something else to dump his turmoil upon. Clearing his throat, he straightened his posture. Willie nervously ran a hand through his hair, visibly confused.
“So....” Alex began awkwardly. “You have your own place?”
Willie nodded, not looking him in the eyes anymore.
“Yeah, it’s kinda nice,” he said plainly. “You’ll have to check it out one of these days. You could see Sheldon, too.”
“Yes,” Alex said quickly. “Yes, I would totally be down to come see you and Sheldon. That would be great.”
He hated that the natural cadence in his voice was so sarcastic sometimes. Right now, it didn’t sound genuine at all and he desperately wanted to convey how much he meant every word.
“Bet you’re sort of busy with the band and school and all, though,” Willie said, clearly a little despondent. Alex really wanted to go back and fix the moment they’d had before. He wasn’t making it any better.
“Well, I’m free all next Saturday. You’re not working, are you?”
“I can arrange things with Kyle to get covered. I’m usually on his good side and he doesn’t stay mad for long, so I’m not worried.”
“That’s good.” A pause. “So it’s okay if I come on Saturday?”
“Sure, sure,” Willie rushed to say. “I’m totally down for that. Uh...I just remembered that we’ve gotta get you back home. Did you know how you were gonna do that?”
“Uh yeah, I was gonna just catch the bus,” Alex said, entirely impromptu. After embarrassing himself so badly with Willie, he could override any fears about using public transportation. All he wanted to do was lift his hood over his head and pull the strings so it closed over his face.
“Got it,” Willie replied.
“But I’ll be excited to see you next Saturday,” Alex added. He saw Willie’s eyes light up a little and it made him smile in relief as he began stepping away from Willie’s door. Biting his lip in his usual cute manner, Willie nodded at him.
“See you then.”
Alex exhaled in excitement as he made his way up the steps to the street, barely able to take his eyes off Willie. Only when he couldn’t see him anymore did he force himself to turn away.

Chapters 6 and part of 7 of The Passed Out Princess
Pairing: My CMC (Uyu, Dan Byeol) x Suit Saeran See all chapters
Description: On days 7-9 of Ray’s route, the player is denied food as “Saeran” makes his presence first known. But, what if MC fell very ill under this method of torture due to a medical condition? Sadly, my custom MC, Uyu (full name Dan Byeol), would deal with exactly this dilemma.
Notes and warnings found in chapter 1
With the silverware wrapped neatly in a cloth napkin sitting in his pocket alongside the candies, the plate of food in both hands and the water bottle tucked between his chest and arm; he snuck his way back over to Dan. As he knew she would be, she remained in the same position, lying in wait for his return in the fairytale bedroom. He set the fresh food down as well as the silverware on the small tea table at the room’s center before walking back over to her, sitting at the side of the bed directly next to her. Twisting his back, Saeran turned to watch her with a worn out expression of sadness, tracing his fingertips along the side of her face before pulling away rather sharply. He was the one who had hurt her, so he had no right to touch her the way he just did, as if he suddenly cared.
His skin was so chilly in contrast to hers, as if she were alive and he was just a walking corpse. Her heat...he’ll admit...felt interesting against him. But, now he suddenly felt self conscious over the times he had let her feel the glacier that he is. Maybe Ray wasn’t so wrong to wear those gloves.
For once, he felt too tired to be angry. He could get back to his usual self the second she was ok, right? She had no power over him...it’s natural for him to be worried for her like you’d worry for an ill pet. When would she wake...that he didn’t know. But, he’d be there to feed her the second she did. He could be a better owner...a better...whatever he was. His beautiful cyan eyes welled up with salt water once more, glossy tears bouncing off his long lashes as he observed her again. Here, in this room, it was just him and her, with Dan deep in slumber. He could let his mask crumble down like old clay, revealing behind it the sad and scared human being desperate for love and approval he truly was. It’s normal to yearn for such things, something Dan wanted to inform him about.
Would she hate him after she awoke? Why did it matter to him if she did? Would she still be kind to him? Would she view him as the beast he pushed himself to be? Would she be better off without him?
He sniffled, overwhelmed with an odd urge to just hold her, something he knew he didn't deserve to do and tried to reason he didn’t actually want to do. Those were Ray’s thoughts...not his own, as the savior told him. Ray had the weak thoughts and wishes, Saeran none at all. He altered his position so he could press his face into the blanket by her waist, allowing it to absorb his sobs and occasional heart wrenching animal noises he wasn’t used to making in the company of someone. If anything, his usual tears were quiet, long mastering the art of silent sobbing. He was frustrated with her...no, himself, and she’d probably be disgusted by him upon waking. She’d for sure push him away now that he had really fucked up. He made his best effort to hush himself.
He lifted his head, wiping his eyes on his sleeve, ignoring the built up snot in his nose and overall appearance as he reached out to her again, in an attempt to wake her from her “beauty rest”. He started with a gentle poke on the side of her arm.
“Princess..?”, a hesitant rub, “princess..”
He moved in closer, unsure of how to wake her without giving her a small jostle, his voice extra nasally.
“Please wake up...you need food...I brought you food…”
Saeran sighed, turning around to face the wall in front of him as he cried again, feeling suffocated by his own loss and uncertainty.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dan’s eyelids fluttered open slowly, realizing she somehow made it back into her bed, neatly tucked underneath the warm covers. Turning her head to the side groggily, she saw a hunched over black figure sitting beside her, making it out to be Saeran. His weight sank the mattress with a little dent, his back towards her with his face in his hands, shoulders shaking ever so slightly. He seemed distraught. Even without facing her, she could tell he was crying, a weeping so rather silent one would think he was used to keeping his tears hidden away; stuffed inside a closet deep within. She was too enveloped in slumber to pick up his earlier sounds.
Seeing how close he was to her, she placed a hand down onto the blanket to help her shift away backwards instinctively, stopping as her fingertips felt a dampness in the fabric. There were (what she hoped and figured were) tear stains on the duvet cover, and not her own. As she regained a slightly steadier consciousness, her temple pulsed again with a sharp sort of stinging. She sucked in air as her pain returned to her, the smell of food wafting through the room certainly not helping the situation. The smell of food?
Saeran knew she was awake now, with her little movements shifting the mattress and hearing a gentle wince. He picked his face up and rubbed his eyes, sniffling deeply before clearing his throat. A part of him didn’t want to turn and look at her, scared of what her face might say to him; that she was repulsed by him and his monstrous behavior. But, he turned around anyways, knowing it was his responsibility to make sure this didn’t happen again. He felt a loss of face and dignity, but he also didn’t care to try and fix her perception of him as “her master” at said moment. He dug his pretty hand into his right pocket, pulling out one of the mint candies he fetched for Dan before holding it in front of her, unfurling his fingers to reveal it in his palm.
He cleared his throat again before speaking faintly. “Eat this first to raise your blood sugars and then there’s food. It might be cold by now but...eat it all. I want every last bite gone.”
Uyu stared at him dumbfounded for a moment, gently looking over his glorious puffy features and reddened nose as she blinked away some last signs of sleep. She didn’t have the heart to tell him with her condition, sugar made her blood sugars drop more after the high.
Saeran’s stare shifted downwards, avoiding what he feared she might turn into. She’d probably curse him and yell, taking out her rage on him, wanting revenge. And he felt he rightfully deserved it to a degree. The odd silence was killing him as his ears prepared themselves for a fit of shrieking, picturing her voice to sound like a violin bow being slammed into the instrument’s strings too harshly; the beautiful melody lost in the improper way of playing. He strangely felt her voice didn’t fit violent screams. He flinched as her soft skin met him, fingertips grazing his palm with such a brief contact, taking the mint from his hand. She noticed this, beginning to worry more for him than herself.
“Thank you…”, she weakly unwrapped the plastic which surrounded the sweet, popping the white and red candy into her mouth. It was the more melty kind...almost buttery, feeling so good as it gave her body something to perk up with. She could audibly “mmm” with just how nice it felt to taste something right now.
Saeran reached out to her slowly, taking the empty wrapper back into his pocket before standing.
“You shouldn’t be thanking me when you were just sick because of me.”
He walked his way around to grab the plate of food, silverware and water bottle, before returning to sit with her on her little comfy resting place again.
“But you could’ve left me sick-”
“Hush now and finish that mint so you can move onto real food. I don’t need your sappiness right now, and you don’t need to chat with me either.”
“Are you ok though?” She gave him an expression of gentle concern.
“None of your business. Focus on your health.”
“But-”
“Quiet.”
Dan stayed silent with that as he was right to a degree, she could barely speak to him with how frail she felt. She could fuss over him in a second. She chewed up the sweet before swallowing it, her stomach now feeling revived enough to let out a low rumble. She pressed her lips together out of embarrassment, but Saeran paid it no mind as he removed the tin foil which covered the plate resting in his lap. Picking up a potato with the fork, he held it out to her with one hand underneath it to stop any food from falling.
“Eat.”
And for the first time, Uyu completely obeyed a command of his, feeling saliva pooling in her mouth as she went out for the bite. It was gone in a split second as her need to devour anything and everything grew stronger, spreading like wildfire with that first garlicky taste which lit up her tongue. To hell with composure. Pushing past the lingering nausea and dizziness, she crawled in real close to him, antsy for the next bite he was preparing; a bit of steak.
Saeran seemed shocked for a moment after looking away to see her practically snuggling up to him, almost dropping and dirtying the fork. A rosy pink similar to the ends of his hair dusted across his cheeks as he turned to feed her again with furrowed brows; a color hard to hide with a face so paper white.
Bite after bite seemed to give her more and more life, and...a bit of happiness too? Well...anyone would feel happy being fed after passing out from lack of food. Saeran’s heart did a different kind of squeeze seeing a few awkward smiles from her, the opposite of what he was expecting her to show him; little twinkles instead of grimaces. He felt safer now, hoping she wouldn’t change to resentment upon feeling fuller bellied.
He brushed the napkin underneath her bottom lip, wiping away a small spot of sauce which went unnoticed by her in her gluttony, picking up some of her faded cherry chapstick onto the piece of cloth with it. His sight locked onto the stain, a swipe of coral against the thick white fabric which touched her, face again flushing in fuchsia color as did Dan’s.
“Try to keep your face clean, I’m only ignoring it because you’re so hungry. Does the food taste fine at least?”
She nodded in response to his question before letting out a quiet “yes”. In the stillness of the moment, hushed enough to hear each other’s breathing and swallowing, she monitored him closely. Saeran’s eyelids were not only swollen but droopy and heavy with the need for relaxation, a bit crimson from sobbing, those dark circles even more sunken than usual. He observed her eating, looking as if he wished to black out himself, but also with a strong impression of fret and trouble, locked onto her as if she’d collapse again. Funny enough, he looked like a sleep deprived mother with a hungry toddler who’d leap from the high chair at any moment while being fed, shattering like glass or porcelain as she fell. Despite the uncomfortable atmosphere, Dan piped up.
“I feel ok enough to feed myself now...maybe you should-”
“If you’re asking me to leave, I won’t. Not until that plate is finished entirely.”
Uyu almost wanted to chuckle a little at his new found anxiety, looking like he’d actually panic if made to leave the room.
“Ok then. I was going to say lay down while I eat...not ask you to go.”
Fretting over him, she was sort of ok with Saeran staying, ignoring how unpleasant he’d acted around her previously for now. She just felt at ease knowing he wasn’t in that dismal work room or listening to that damn “saviour’s” awesome lessons about embracing darkness like some freaky weirdo. She held out her shaky hands so he could give her the plate of food, and after shooting her a small glare, he placed it in her hold, the fork resting on top of the vegetables.
The man sat up stiffly before crossing his arms.
“Don’t go making a mess and getting food on the blanket, I’m not in the mood to clean up after you even more-”
“Of course. Now as I said, kick back please.”
“Tch, I don't need to lay down. If anything, you do once you’re done. You still look ten shades too pale and I can see you shaking.”
“Then I guess we should both lay down at some point. Either way, make yourself comfortable for now.”
The tiny woman glanced at his posture before looking back at her plate, stabbing a potato with a timid smirk.
“You know...slouching isn’t illegal here. Or I at least hope it isn’t.”
“If you have the energy to make such a comment, I know that food is working at least. Don’t go testing the waters, princess. I’m still not your friend.”
She swallowed her bite before answering, a sad undertone appearing in her voice more than intended.
“So, should I consider myself lucky the shark took pity on the fish?”
Saeran laughed faintly, an exhausted breathy “ahaha” before finally allowing the tension to realise in his back, slouching forward, his chin resting in his palm.
“Yeah, that exactly. Consider yourself lucky that I can’t let my prey die just yet.”
He sounded less than convincing.
“But you seem so-”, she silenced herself, almost picking out his obvious distress and signs that he wept over her state of illness.
“Seem so what? What is it that I seem to you, hmm? Go on, finish that statement. Keep playing with hell fire!”
“I was going to say tired. You seem tired.”
She held back her true words, cutting the pill into a smaller one for him to let fall down his throat without choking.
“Tired? Of course I am, from dealing with you and your inability to go hungry for one fucking minuet.”
Uyu bit her tongue, trying her all not to start an argument as she felt some anger bubbling in her chest. She took in a deep breath to attempt to cool herself down, normally not allowing anyone to talk to her this way before lashing back to defend herself. It was his fault that this all happened, but she could tell he knew that already from taking one good look at the sorrow painted across his face he tried so hard to hide. She gave herself a second to collect her thoughts before speaking to him more rationally.
“I too wish I didn’t have this problem, but I do. I swallowed my pride to reach out to you for help, and I thank you for actually realizing help is what I needed.”
“Again with the ‘thank you’. I...I should have been feeding you, there’s nothing here to thank me for, weirdo. You also didn’t necessarily have any pride to swallow, you straight up passed out on top of me.”
“But, I called you to come over here, didn’t I? You even made fun of my pleading...”
“Hmph...sure sure, fine. You did beg and plead. I’ll be taking that to memory~”
“Oh really? So that’s what you’re into huh?”
“Are you trying to imply something perverted right now? Seriously? Shut up and eat your damn food before I clunk you out personally.”
“Just trying to lighten the mood.”
“You speak so bravely but I can see the fear I bring to you and your little shuddering shoulders, you impractical joker.”
Saeran was right, his behavior scared her, but she wouldn’t allow it to make her fall.
“Hence why the mood needs lightening. But in all seriousness...I’m already feeling much better. How about you?”
“Heh, that quickly? Funny. And why are you asking about me again? Do I not look fine to you? I’m fine, perfect in fact. Worry about yourself and your own recovery.”
“It was just a question. I hope you’re taking care of yourself is all, with the amount of work and stuff you have to do. You didn’t have time to even shoot me a text all day...”
“That’s because I don’t want to constantly talk to you. Again, worry about yourself! Stop acting so selfless trying to butter me up-”
“Asking about someone I care about is no task or mission as it’s something I just want to do. It's not goal oriented...”
Saeran groaned as he rolled his eyes, picking himself up to lean back against the mountain of poofy pillows aligning the bed’s headboard, kicking up his feet to lay down fully behind her. His right leg crossed over his left as he stretched back, putting both hands behind his head, making himself more relaxed. Dan turned around to give him a small smile and show she was still fully paying attention to him, receiving a scowl as he lifted the corner of his mouth to flash her his pearly teeth in response.
Secretly, Uyu was a bit giddy over the fact that he didn’t deny her last statement, trying to shove her away as he usually did. Instead, he adjusted his position into one of more relaxation. She took another bite before apprehensively commenting on the fact that his shoes were still on, which would dirty the white blanket.
“I’m happy you took my advice on laying down...but maybe...shoes off in the bed..”
“Want them off, take them off yourself, little miss OCD.”
He wiggled his right foot in her direction, grinning.
“Never mind then. I just thought if you’re going to lay down, you should get properly settled.”
“Why does it matter that I’m comfortable in your bed? You want to see my feet that desperately, princess?”
She nervously laughed a bit at his snide comment, Saeran scratching his head and looking away for a second as her tiny giggle met his ears. He turned to lay on his side facing her, one hand on his hip as his head rested in the other, his elbow propping himself up. Her laughter lasted a bit longer than intended seeing him spread out like a sassy underwear model before her.
“Didn’t realize that was so funny to you, trying to hide your thing for feet under all that laughter?”, he teased.
“Oh heck no. I just find your implication funny.”
“Uh huh,” he shifted to finally kick off his shoes, revealing his bare feet before returning back to his old position.
“Wait? You’re not wearing socks? Pfft-”
“So you want to see my feet and then you don’t.”
“No, I’m not desperate to see your feet at all, it’s just...oh never mind hehe.”
“Socks just suck.”
“But wouldn’t your feet get sweaty in your shoes without them?”
“Again with the fussing over my feet, princess? Come on~ now I know what you’re into.”
“Hey, you’re the one who took it wrong. It’s normal to have a no shoes in the bed rule.”
“And a second ago, you took what I said wrong.”
“Ok so, we’ve established that I think you're a sadist and you think I have a foot fetish then.”
They chuckled together, their genuine laughter mingling sweetly in a sing-song as it filled the earlier emptiness, a weight leaving both of their chests as well as some tension. He couldn’t remember the last time he actually laughed and joked with someone.
As they both came down from their little high, Saeran cleared his throat before speaking more seriously again.
“How’s your eating coming along? Finish that plate so I can go.”
Uyu’s expression changed to a more somber one, finally starting to enjoy his company. When he wasn’t shrieking trying to prove himself to stand superior, she could focus on that side of her that wished to grasp at his hand and tell him not to return so soon to the places where she could not be there to see what he was dealing with. Away from her, he was encased in the lies this place spoon fed him, the shadows threatening to devour him. She could not fight for him the way she wanted to locked away, but sadly, she was still too shy and afraid to keep him near.
“I’m almost done…”
“Why the long face? I thought you’d be happy to be rid of me now that you’ve eaten...”
His tone was hushed, voice deep as he trailed off slightly uttering the last word.
“I never, not once said I’d want ‘to be rid of you’. I actually said, or welcomed you to make yourself comfortable...which implies the opposite…”
“Ha... I just don’t understand, but fine then. Let those words come out of your mouth nice and clearly, and ask me for exactly what you want.”
“...I”, she gulped, thinking of a way to properly respond. He seemed to desire some sort of corroboration.
“I want you to be certain. If you’re not, I’ll go.”
“...I am.”
“Ok, but that’s not the sentence I asked for.”
He started shifting as if to get down from the bed before she finally reached out to him, lightly tugging the cuff of his jacket’s sleeve, stopping him from getting off fully.
“You said you wouldn’t leave until my plate was finished, and it’s not.”
“Are you calling me a liar? I hate liars. Naturally, I want you to beg for me to stay longer than that since you’re oh so lonely in here, paranoid that me just moving was me leaving. So, do you want me to stay longer than that? Hmm?”
And there he went again, trying to appear as if this was all a part of his vicious game of power play. Even as he took on a cheeky mien, he still could not hide the fatigue which mingled itself with his sharp words. Saeran, now sitting up straight directly next to her, leaned in till their faces were barely an inch or two away from touching, not respecting personal boundaries. She almost went cross-eyed trying to focus on him as her cheeks warmed in temperature, and she hoped whatever color they showed wouldn’t give her flustered nature away, having him so close.
“You’re lucky I felt ok enough to brush my teeth earlier,” she whispered meekly. “And it seems to me you want confirmation that you can stay..”
He tiredly cackled, his candy scented breath tickling her as he kept the distance between them so slim.
“Still not enough to get rid of your-”, he stopped himself. “Ug, sickly doll. You can’t go a second without making such idiotic accusations-”
“My what? My smell?”
His eyes darted away from her before returning to stare into the large green pools which were her’s, recalling his secret appreciation for it earlier as he held her. His reflection in her pupils frustrated him, looking as if the pressure he felt earlier had indeed crushed him like a ton of bricks.
“Yeah that..”
She raised a brow, “Ok, and what is my smell to you?”
He swallowed thickly, “Gross. It’s just gross. And annoying to recall …”
“I guess you don’t like roses then, because almost everything I use is rose scented. And you seem to like to be in my space a lot for someone who doesn’t like my smell.”
His face twisted in discomfort as if he’d start sweating soon. “Roses are Ray’s thing, not mine. And again with reading too much into what I’m doing.”
“Then what is your thing? And what are you trying to do?”
Saeran paused, finally pulling back away from her, Dan feeling like she could finally respire again.
“You’re trying to get me to turn around from our earlier conversation. Maybe I should take off before you finish your food after all, since you can’t play nice.”
“Hmph.”

PART X of X
Count: 1352

You hadn't planned to ever meet Wanda.
When you had come back from Europe because of Pietro's death, you couldn't even breathe.
You blamed her, you knew you shouldn't. It was an accident, a freak accident.
But it didn't stop the pain that Pietro was no longer alive.
You attended the funeral, in the far back to avoid attention. You saw Wanda there. You could see traces of the girl who saved you in university, but she was thinner and lifeless.
She wasn't even crying, and you hated her.
Even as all the people slowly began to leave the funeral, Wanda stayed until she was the last person there. She didn't even notice you standing in the background.
You don't know how long you stood there watching her. Hours, maybe.
But then Wanda came closer to the gravestone, dropped to her knees and wailed as she clutched Pietro's picture.
Wanda cried and cried, and you found yourself crying in the distance too.
And even with the negative feelings still, underneath the surface, all you could remember was that Pietro loved her. Wanda was the most important person in his life.
Pietro would repeatedly tell you that Wanda was special.
So the person that Pietro cherished the most was hurting, just like you.
And so, you spent days around the bridge Pietro told you about until one day you saw her there.
She was giving up, and you never thought you'd meet her in this way.
But it was a chance for you to see what Wanda was like, to try to understand Pietro.
And as you spent your days around Wanda, you were beginning to find out that she was indeed special and meant for you.

"I still miss you, you know. Things may never be the same without you, but I'm not lonely or alone anymore. Because of you, I have someone to love and love me. I'll never be able to thank you enough, but I hope you can see me from where you are."
"You ready?"
Wanda looked up to see Natasha standing behind her, smiling. The day is beautiful, the sun is shining, and there's not a cloud in sight.
There's a warm breeze that passes through, and Wanda can't help but believe it's a sign from Pietro. She gets up from kneeling at his gravestone.
Today is an important day, and because Pietro cannot come, she will visit him to share the news.
"Yeah," Wanda smiles.
"Alright, let's get you married then,"  Natasha smiles, grabbing her friend to get back to the car.
A year has passed. Some may say Wanda is crazy to ask you to marry her only a year in, but when you know someone is meant for you, nothing ever feels fast enough.
A year filled with blissful moments, small arguments, and plentiful of making up.
Wanda doesn't want you to wait any longer, the two of you have waited long enough.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
The ceremony is small, just close friends only.
The vows you made to each other make the two of you cry.
Wanda slips the custom-made ring around your finger.
The tattoo of the string never came to be as Wanda decided she liked drawing it on every day. But they've traded in the paint for rings, as Wanda got a red squabbly line engraved in the inside of their rings.
Flower petals are being thrown as the two of you kiss.
"Forever isn't even half the time I want to spend with you," you whisper against her lips.
"Forever only exists for me if it's you," Wanda whispers in return.
There are loud cheers from your friends, confetti, and petals being thrown in the air.
Wanda can't help but think it's such a beautiful day, that life is so beautiful with you.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
"Are you ready for our honeymoon?"
Wanda sleepily grins as she pulls you closer in bed.
"You mean our honeymoon that our friends will be attending too?"
You laugh, "Yes, but you know we'll still get plenty of alone time."
You slowly bite your lip, an action you know drives Wanda crazy.
Her hand slips under your shirt, fingers pressed against the skin between your shoulder blade as she drags her nails down lightly, enjoying your shiver.
BANG BANG
"WANDA, WE'RE HERE. STOP MAKING LOVE AND OPEN THE DOOR SO WE CAN ALL GO THE AIRPORT!"
It was Clint's muffled voice through the door that had you laughing and Wanda rolling her eyes.
She ignored it.
"Shouldn't we go get that? We don't want to be late to the airport," You remind her.
"I already checked us in, we've got some time. Clint can wait. Again."
"Did you ever decide what it is you want from me?"
Wanda pulls you back over her,  cupping your jaw as she steals kisses that rightfully belong to her.

"She's out of control, Nat!" Clint petulantly says as he glares at Wanda.
Wanda just looks outside the plane window from her aisle seat as if she has no idea what Clint is talking about.
"I was going to joke about the mile high club, but it looks like you already wore her out," Natasha jokes as she sees you sleeping soundly on Wanda's shoulder.
Wanda merely licks her lips in response.
Natasha looks at you and spots some writing on your arm.
She reads it, her heart softening as she looks at Wanda.
"Do you write messages on her arm every day?"
Wanda's ears flush red, but she nods.
Natasha sighs with a smile.
"No wonder the two of you fuck so much."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
When you wake up groggily, you notice the writing on your arm right away.
Wanda must've written it when you fell asleep on the plane.
Все, что вы готовы дать
You smile at her, pulling her in for a kiss.
"God, it means everything you're willing to give. Stop leaning over me, Clint!" Natasha elbow's Clint back into his seat.
Clint coos while Wanda flushes, and you smile.
The flight is entirely too long, and checking into the hotel takes even longer.
Steve tells them to get some rest for activities later tonight, and Wanda is already excited at the prospect of locking you in your shared hotel room and participate in activities that do not include sleeping.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
"Do you need anything?" You ask, a little exhausted from all the lovemaking. There's still a good two hours before you have to meet up with the group again.
"Hold my hand."
You laugh, lacing your fingers around her, "I meant anything else other than me."
Wanda sleepily curls up on your shoulder, smiling as she kisses the bare skin there.
"I can't think of anything when you're around," the words vibrate against your skin, and your heart flutters.
"You seem to blame me for a lot of things," you tease.
Wanda nods, "I blame you for my happiness too."
"Wanda, I really don't have the energy for another round," the romantic words are killing you, and Wanda laughs.
It's silent again.
Wanda fiddles with the ring on your finger, smiling.
"What are you thinking about?" You ask her.
Wanda presses her cheek against your shoulder, sliding her palm against yours again until your fingers are laced with hers.
"I'm just thinking about how amazing people are. How amazing how far we've come. We can face a loss and somehow overcome that. The people we lose are irreplaceable, but we're not meant to be alone. The most wonderful part is that we get to choose to live on, have the choice to love."
You run your fingers through her hair delicately.
"You were in the dark for so long," you sigh, wishing you had been more open to meeting her earlier.
She smiles as if she can hear what you're thinking. "Yes, but I think sometimes you have to get lost in the dark to be able to appreciate the light."
You smile at her. Wanda is a beautiful human being.
"I love you," you tell her softly.
Wanda looks at you, smiling.
"I'm all about you."

The world is a hellish place, that's for sure.
Everywhere you look, you see some form of evil. Whether it be someone spending too much on a purse, or someone looking at themselves in the mirror thinking that they are the best thing since sliced bread.
The thing is, most of these humans don't realize what they're doing. They show little-to-no respect or gratefulness for the things they have. Most of them believe that they need more. That one dollar isn't enough. So then if they had a million...would that not be enough either?
It's all a race. For example, two brothers racing to have a better life when in reality they're just wasting it away to receive superficial things that will just be gone when they leave this world. It's idiotic, and self-centered. If people actually thought about how well they have it, they wouldn't sin. And well, every single human being sins on this planet. It's what makes it go around.
The person sitting next to you at a restaurant just ate his girlfriend's food of her plate. The waiter is stealing another waiters tip money. The owner of the restaurant is sleeping with someone else's wife. The customer threw his drink at the waitress because his food was too cold. The group of teenagers won't get up to leave to make room for the next group. Sin. It's all around. And there's no escaping it.
Well, unless you're the Pure Soul.
Choi Nari. Her name means Lily in English. And the name lily means "purity."
She's known for her ethereal looks, and cascading long black hair that flows so softly. She's sent from heaven, but has no idea of her origins. She only believes she's a human just like everyone else. And lives a life filled with peace and love.
She never harmed a single soul in all of her lifetimes. Once every hundred years, she is reborn, and every one of those years, she's avoided the devil, whom wants her all to himself. The reason? Well, you always want what you can't have, right? The devil is all sins, himself.
This reincarnation, however, will be a bit different. There's something different about her, and the only way she'll be able to avoid the devil is if she avoids sin.
The devil has his own plans, though. Hell stop at nothing to have her. He will send all of his seven sons to earth, for they need to bring her back alive so he could deal with her. And the son that successfully brings her back, will become the next king of hell.
His sons were the embodiment of the seven deadly sins. And his goal was to make the Pure Soul suffer all seven of them, and make her sin to have her all for himself.
If this plan works, he'd successfully take away all the food in the world. So, he hopes all seven of his boys will not falter at her beauty.

"You what us to do what?" Yoongi huffed at his father, crossing his arms over his chest. "Hell no, I'm not fucking leaving my soft bed for that."
Yoongi is the prince of laziness, and definitely lived up to his title. He dreamed of living as a rock in his next life, but sadly, his next life was never going to occur. He was immortal. There was ways he could die, though. But for now, the best he could do was imagine he was a rock while he slept.
The devil growled. "Sloth, you dare to deny me?"
All seven of the boys were gathered in the throne room, where the devil sat on a large chair that floated on flames. The room was all black, with a bit of red detailing.
The devil was very old. He wanted to retire the throne to one of his sons, but he didn't know which one he should give it to. They were all so untrustworthy and well, the only one who he probably could trust was the one who envisions himself as a rock. That's just sad.
When Yoongi didn't answer him, The devil's voice boomed across the high-ceilings. "God damnit sloth! You're so slow sometimes."
Smiling, Yoongi winked at his father. "It's what I do best, dad."
Still fuming, the devil looked towards his oldest son, who was currently eating a bowl of noodles. "I-how did you even get those?" He smacked a hand to his head, sighing. This was ridiculous.
Jin didn't even answer. He just kept slurping his noodles until his father got mad enough to move on with what he was saying.
"Listen, my sons. I need you to retrieve the Pure Soul."
"The pure soul?" Jimin smirked. "That hot ass chick from heaven?"
The devil smiled viciously. "Yes, that's right." Rubbing his hands together, he raised an eyebrow. "And son, I give you full permission to seduce her in any way." He laughed, knowing she wouldn't be able to cave in from his charm.
"So, she's hot? Does she need money?" Taehyung smirked as well, crossing his arms. "I could give her anything in the world."
This was getting out of hand. All he needed was for his boys to bring her back here. "Okay. Anyway, you have 100 days to bring this beast back here, got it? And none of you dare to get attached to her, or you'll be dead meat." He huffed, praying they wouldn't turn against him. Heh, praying. He hasn't done that in a while.
"She couldn't be any near attractive as me, father." Namjoon smiled. "You have nothing to worry about."
The devil hoped that were true, but he knew how beautiful this woman was, and also knew that his sons have never seen anyone like her. Even Lust, who's slept with countless demons and everything in between. He's never seen a pure soul. And even the devil himself wouldn't be able to resist.
“So, what do we get if we bring her back?” Taehyung smirked, looking at his brothers. They all looked as if they didn’t care. Well, except Jimin. He just wanted something to fuck. But Taehyung knew what he wanted. And what he wanted was to take his father’s place. His greed was strong for it, and wouldn’t stop for anything or anyone.
The devil smiled. Finally. He should’ve known it was going to be greed. He couldn’t turn down anything especially if he’ll get something out of it. “Well, the throne, of course.” He shrugged his arms upward, a sneer on his lips. “That is, if you earn it.”
“Oh, believe me, father. I will.” He laughed, looking towards his younger brother, Jungkook.
Jungkook was starting to get mad. He absolutely hated it when Taehyung would get whatever he wanted. It just wasn’t fair. As his eyes began to fade from a dark brown to a vibrant red, the prince of envy patted his shoulder. “Down, boy.”
His eyes faded back to their usual color. Envy was nice, when he wasn’t jealous. He was a sweetheart, and always seemed to be able to calm him down. He goes by Hobi, but his name is Hoseok.
“Alright. Now. Are you guys ready.” The devil growled impatiently. “Do you have everything you need?”
Every one of his sons nodded, except Yoongi. He was now sleeping while standing up. Was that even possible?
“Sloth!” The devil sneered, just waking him enough to blink. “Dammit I don’t even—Do you have everything you need?”
Yawning, he opened his mouth to mumble “have everything for what?”
Silence broke out among them. “You…you know what..just fucking go.” With the flick of his hand, the boys were now transported through time to the planet earth, where they now need to search for the Pure Soul. But wait..how will they find her?

South Korea
Spring time, 2021
The trees were blossoming. The beautiful colors of whites and pinks danced as the petals fell to the ground. Nari was enchanted with them. Their beauty was astounding. She wished she was like them, to be so graceful, even while they fell.
Her favorite season was spring. She lived a full twenty five years of life constantly waiting for spring to come back around every year. She loved to see the flowers bloom, and all the aromas of different plants. She wished she was one. They never had to worry about anything. They just looked pretty.
She never had any friends to share her happiness with. She always wished for some, praying to god that she won't be alone anymore. Was there a reason why she was? Was it because she always agreed with everyone? Was it because she was too nice?
Well, she was too nice, but she had no control over that. It's just how she was made. She didn't know she was from heaven. She only knew that her family died when she was small, and doesn't remember them. So she was alone in this world, lost and left to find her way through life. She only wished she had someone to love unconditionally, just like the couples she'd see as she'll walk down the streets.
Nari made her way back to her small apartment. It was perfect for her though. Just enough space for her to cohabitate with her cat, Mochi. There was one bedroom, and a living space that combined with the kitchen. A tiny bathroom was across from her room, but it was big enough to have a full-sized tub in it. She did like baths more than showers, anyway.
As she walked into her bedroom, her cat was sprawled out on its back on the bed, purring as it slept. Mochi was a happy cat, and loved belly rubs and being held. She’s never had a cat that loved as much attention as mochi did, and he was the type of cat that never wanted to leave her side.
“Hello, mochi mochi.” She smiled, giving him a little pet. “How’s my cutie?” The cat let out a large yawn, then started to stretch out his paws. “Ah. Big stretch.” She chuckled, letting the cat continue to sleep and walked over to her desk in front of the window.
All over it was scattered drawings and short poems she’d write when she was bored. There was something off with her, though, and she knew it. She always wondered why she flowed with everything that went on around her. No matter what it was, she’d agree with it. That includes relationships.
Nari has never been in one. Despite how stunningly beautiful she was, no one would give her the time of day. She also didn’t know her own beauty, which might be part of the reason. But was she meant to live alone in this world? Was that her purpose?
Feeling upset with herself, she walked over to her full-body mirror. There she stood, her long white dress flowed down past her knees, and her long black hair fell down towards her backside. She curled the ends of it today, feeling happy with the way it looked. Her eyes were a hazel type color, but closer to green that black. Her lips were a soft pink, that plumped and were Un-chapped.
She was beautiful. No one would be able resist her. And now, the reason she’s never had a significant other was because she never let herself notice that someone was trying. That could be because god hated the idea of it. Her soul purpose was to keep sin away from taking over the world. He never expected her to start thinking for herself. She’s been reincarnated since the beginning of time. So why is she starting to think for herself?
She spent 25 years of life without any sexual activity. Without anything special in her life. She never had a family, and works as an ice cream shop cashier. There’s nothing to her life. No purpose. She wanted to change that. But as soon as that thought went through her head, it left like a flicker of light.
__
“Dude, this is absolutely ridiculous.” Yoongi huffed once again, just wanting to rest. “How are we supposed to find her.”
“Yeah.” Taehyung sighed, holding pink petals in his hands that were falling down from the branches above. “Anyway, what are these things?”
“I wonder if they taste good.” Jin giggled as he stuffed a few in his mouth. Spitting them out after a few chews, he shook his head. “Nope. Not good.”
Namjoon was sitting down on the ground with his legs crossed. There were lots of people walking by, and he noticed a man fixing his hair in the camera of his phone. Smirking, he closed his eyes and made the man see himself in a new light. Too bad that new light was for him to think too highly of himself. The man then tossed his phone onto the ground and walked away, thinking he was too good to have one.
“Damn, Joon. We just got here.” Hoseok muttered. “Let’s just stick to our task.”
Nodding, Jungkook spoke up. “Yeah, let’s find this girl so we don’t combust.”
Jin side-eyes him. “What do you mean, combust?”
“Well, you were too busy eating to even pay attention to father.” Jk rolled his eyes at his hyung. Leaning up against one of the trees, he smirked. “Father said he’ll kill us if we don’t find the girl.”
Jin bursts out in laughter. “Yeah, right. As if he—wait you’re serious?” His face turned from playful to worried. “I—oh, you are serious.”
“We need a plan.” Taehyung dropped the flower petals off his palm and dusted them off. “I say we split up.”
“It’ll be an uneven number then.” Jimin pointed out, who seemed to be in and out of the conversation. There were plenty of pretty girls walking around, and he was turning himself on. “Anyway, I just want something to fuck. I’ve never fucked a human before..”
Ignoring Jimin, Namjoon agreed with Tae. “Yeah, Tae, I think we should do that too.” He pointed to Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung. “You guys go one way, we’ll go the other.”
Yoongi was surprisingly awake, and agreed also. “Alright. That’s good with me. As long as I don’t gotta do any work.”
As the boys set on to where they needed to be, little did they know that Nari passed them out as she was walking to work.
They kept walking, and Taehyung noticed a brand new car roll up to the curb. Smirking, he left the group to go check it out.
He walked around it with his arms behind his back, looking it over. He must’ve looked off because the owner of the car came out and asked what he needed.
Wrong question.
“What do I need, you ask?” Tae smiled down at the man. “What I need..is this car.” He smirked, his eyes turning into an icy blue. He wanted it, and he’ll get it. The man proceeded to give him the keys and stood stationary, and Taehyung called over Jimin and Jungkook.
“Let’s go boys!” He yelled, and hopped into the drivers seat. He didn’t even know how to drive, but he’ll make himself.
“That was fucking sick, hyung!” Jimin high-fived hun as Jungkook sat in the back with a frown on his face.
Jimin noticed. “What’s wrong, Jk?” He asked him, turning back towards him in the leather seat.
“I wanted that fucking seat.” He hissed at him, sending daggers through his eyes. This made Jimin nervously laugh, and he turned back around.
“Anyway!” Jimin changed the subject. “Where should we look for her? What does she even look like, anyway?”
As Tae drove, he described her. “Well, she has long black hair and a bright soul. We should be able to see who she is the minute our eyes land on her.”
“Ah.” Jimin nodded. “Well, the minute my eyes land on her is the minute I’ll fuck her.”
“Jesus, Jimin. Lay off the sex for once. Some of us need it too.” Jungkook growled from the back seat.
This made Jimin laugh. “Yeah, as if anyone would be attracted to your wrath ass.”
“Don’t piss him off, Jimin. I really want a peaceful ride.” Tae huffed, stepping on the gas. “I say we look around a shopping mall. Girls like shopping here too, right?”
“I like shopping.” Jk muttered under his breath.
“I say we should go to a park or something.” Jimin chimed in.
Taehyung scrunched his nose. “The fuck is a park?”
Letting it pass, they decided to drive to the nearest mall, while the older brothers were currently walking by foot to find her.
“Do you think she’ll like me? I think she’ll love me. I mean, who wouldn’t? Look at me!” Joon laughed, talking himself up as they walked amongst the humans. “I’m getting all the stares!”
“Um, no. I think it’s actually Yoongi. He looks like he’s dead.” Hoseok chimed, holding in his laughter.
Yoongi was sleepwalking. He couldn’t keep his head up, and was nearly walking like a zombie. He was catching all the eyes around him and Namjoon thought it was all for him. Well, he was most certainly attractive. But he wasn’t the reason for the stares.
Pouting, Namjoon rolled his eyes. “I’m sure I’m the reason for some of them at least.”
“Oh my god! Look! It’s a noodle restaurant!” Jin excitedly chanted, jumping up and down. He was a grown man, and looked like he was a kid at a candy store. “Let’s go!”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea—hey!” Hoseok got cut off as Jin grabbed ahold of his shirt.
All four of them sat down at a table, their legs too long for the chairs. All seven of the boys were above six feet tall. That was because Satan was nearly seven feet.
“Do you think that the other boys found the girl yet?” Namjoon said as he chomped on the noodles. The noodles that they weren’t going to be able to pay for.
“Nah.” Yoongi said, shaking his head. “But if they did, good for them I guess.”
Jin was already on his fifth bowl. “I don’t really want to be king anyway. I just came here for the food.”
“Jesus fuck.” Hobi grunted. The soup part was too hot for him. “This is fucking spicy. Why is it spicy?”
“Maybe because you got the chili powder.” Jin chuckled, grabbing Hoseok’s bowl. “Here, I’ll eat it.”
Hoseok glared at him with a frown. “I don’t know how you’re so skinny.”
“Alright guys.” Joon clapped. “We should get a move on with finding her.”
When no one responded to him, he sighed, shaking his head. “Maybe I should’ve picked a better group.”
As Joon was thinking this, Taehyung was thinking the same thing.
“Alright, where is Jimin at now?” Tae sighed, putting a hand up to his head as they stood in the middle of the mall. They looked like giants amongst all of the people there, making them stand out even more. Jungkook stood next to Tae, also wondering where Jimin went.
“All I know is that he said something about going to flirt with the cute girls.” Kook stated, shaking his head. “I don’t know which cute girls he was talking about, though.”
“Oh my god. It’s never ending with him. We can’t bring him anywhere.”
It was silent for a moment, until Jungkook spoke up again. “Do you ever get so mad that you just want to kill them?”
Taehyung looked at him, blinking. “I can’t take you anywhere, either.”
While Taehyung was having an existential crisis, Nari was three stores down from him in her cute ice cream shop.
A few cute boys walked in, and ordered some ice cream. As she gathered their order, one of them kept asking for her number. “My number? Like a phone number?” She mumbled, scrunching her eyebrows.
“Yes.” The cute boy nodded, a smile on his face when he thinks he’s getting it.
“Ah, that. Well, I don’t have a phone.” She smiled at him, and continued to scoop his ice cream. The bus’s friends all laughed at this, making the one who asked get upset.
“Listen here you little bitch.” The boy reached over to grab her by the neck, making her confused as to why he freaked out. She just said she didn’t have a phone. As he pulled her against the glass of the ice cream stand, someone’s voice boomed through the shop.
“Hey hey, that’s no way to treat a lady.” The boy said playfully, making the boy who was holding Nari falter. “Well, only when you’re in bed, I guess.”
His hair was a dark blue, almost black. His eyes nearly looked as if they were a pink of some sort, but maybe he was wearing contacts.
After that comment, the blue haired man stood face-to-face with the asshole who held Nari. Letting her go, he turned toward him. “Who the fuck are you?” He said, his two friends standing behind him with crossed arms.
The mysterious man didn’t even look over at Nari. He just glared at the boy. In came two more boys, who immediately walked over to the mysterious guy. One of them had longer hair than the other, but both of them had black hair. All three of them were unusually tall, and looks as if they had no fear. The longer haired guy spoke up. “I’ll beat your ass so hard you won’t be able to walk.”
The three other boys seemed to get a bit scared, knowing they had no chance against these guys. Nari stood there, in awe of their beauty. She never had thoughts of anyone like this. They were all so beautiful, she just wanted to know more. She wanted to know why they were standing up for her.
As the three childish boys ran out of the store, Nari caught eyes with the blue haired boy, who immediately dropped his jaw.
Jimin couldn’t believe his eyes. There she stood, the most beautiful soul of the human race. Her long locks were held back by a scrunchie, and her eyes were lined with black eyeliner. She was so beautiful, he couldn’t help but stare. He wanted her.
Taehyung felt the same way as well. How in the world could a creature like this exist in the world. Is this way his father wanted her? He began to experience dirty thoughts, some of them pertaining to keeping her all to himself. That could be because of who he was—Greed. He wanted her. He wanted her bad.
Jungkook was quietly staring, his eyes open wide. He’s never experienced this feeling before, but to be fair, he’s never seen someone so beautiful in all his years of life. He wished to have something so passionately, and that something was her. He didn’t care that his brothers were also infatuated with her, he wanted her all to himself, too.
Nari didn’t even know what she had done to the boys. She had no idea that she was made just to compel the sins themselves.
What was she supposed to do now? Was she supposed to thank them? She really had no idea. But before she had the opportunity to say anything, one of the boys said something first.
“Well, we finally meet.” Taehyung smirked. “Choi Nari. The Pure Soul.”
“The..the what?”

— primroses: i can’t live without you, eternal love
Tumblr media
Jungkook’s made this trip more times than he count, comes probably every other week or so, and has visited so many times that he could probably get here with his eyes closed —even though that wouldn’t be very smart— but for some reason, today feels harder than normal.
His grip on the steering wheel tightens, the ridges of his knuckles going white as he clenches his jaw, chest heaving with each shaky breath that fills his lungs. The skin under his dark circles is tinged pink, red-rimmed eyes staring out into the distance as he musters you the courage to grow some balls and get out of his car. His legs feel like deadweights, and he can barely get himself out of the driver’s seat, eyes cast downward at the cracks and divots in the concrete. He follows each line and chasm in the asphalt that’s stained with rainwater. The squishy sounds of his shoes against the freshly trimmed, damp grass momentarily distracts him from his thoughts. Drops of dew cling precariously onto the blades of grass, glittering like jewels. He looks for anything and everything to get his mind off of her. His heart feels heavier today, the ache that resounds in his heart worsening with each day that passes.
Tears sting the base of his eyes, pooling in the corners of his doe eyes as he sniffles, struggling to hide the trembling of his body and the quivering of his bottom lip. Pearly, white teeth graze over the plump flesh of his bottom lip as he tightens his grip on the bouquet of flowers in his hand. His feet seem as if they are glued to the ground, imprinted in the soft and slightly damp, muddy patch of grass. Squatting down, he places the bouquet of primroses next to the structure, the pad of his thumb gently brushing against the yellow and pink petals. He glances up at the sky, trying his hardest to blink back the burning tears that threaten to slide down his cheeks.
Carding slender fingers through brown hair, he swallows the lump in his throat, unable to hide the pain that swallows him whole. It throbs in his chest, eating him out from the inside, burning him alive. It hurts, hurts so bad that some days he can’t get out of bed. Some days, his hyungs have to drag him out of bed for him to function. Some days, the most he can do is take a shower and down a glass of water before it all hits him like a truck again, and the pain becomes too much too handle. It’s funny, how bright and full of life he used to be. And now, he’s just a ghost, a husky of a human being, a lifeless soul residing in a shell.
It feels different without you. It feels wrong, it feels weird, and he hates it. It feels wrong to come back to a place he can’t even call home without you waiting with open arms. It feels wrong not to see your pair of shoes placed on the shoe rack next to his Timberlands, without your set of keys plopped in the little bowl at the front entrance, without your smile brightening his day. It feels too quiet, without the low hum of the dryer in the background, the illuminated TV playing softly, the bubbling of a boiling pot on the stove, the padding of your footsteps as you run to him. It feels wrong to sink down into the couch, waiting for you to run from your shared bedroom with lotion in one hand and a blanket in the other. He finds himself wanting nothing more than for the world to swallow him up whole as he barely lives through the days.
It feels wrong for him to fall asleep at night, without you curled up in his arms, the soft snores tumbling from your parted lips, your soft locks of hair fanned out around your head like a halo. He finds himself glancing over to the empty side of the bed more times than he cares to admit, unable to fall asleep because it’s too quiet and too cold. He misses the warmth that radiates from your sleeping figure, the beauty that astounds him when shards of silver moonlight illuminate your figure with a soft glow. It feels wrong to eat dinner alone, missing the warmth and homely feeling of your home-cooked meals. Recently, he’s been eating at the dorms to avoid feeling so lonely and lost in his thoughts.
Performing on stage is the worst. It doesn’t bring him the same euphoric feeling of pure bliss as it used to. He finds himself staring into the distance, at that one spot in the arena where you would normally preside, a proud smile playing across your rosy lips, your eyes bright with excitement. The thrill of it all, the rush of adrenaline, the cheering of the crowd, and the magical warmth that used to throb in his veins is now not enough. It takes too much out of him to sing the songs that were carefully crafted for you, to pour out his heart to someone who isn’t there anymore.
Jungkook finds himself falling deeper and deeper into a hole he doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to climb out of.
Tumblr media
He places the flowers down, next to the engraving in the stone, next to the plaque with your name carved on it. He lets the tears flow freely from his eyes, wide, broken, and blank eyes filled with more anguish than the amount of space in the universe. His heart quite literally shatters at the thought of your angelic smile. His voice comes out in a breathy murmur, soft and soothing as he gently traces the lines on the stone.
“Hey. I-I’m here again. God, this is so fucking stupid isn’t it? I’m sorry, it just-just hurts so much. I haven’t figured out how to live without you. It hurts too much to not see you, to not be able to touch you, to not be able to have you in my life. I love you, I love you so fucking much and if that means pouring my heart out to you on a rainy day, then so be it. You are the light of my life, and you’d probably be scolding me for crying, for dwelling on my feelings, but I can’t help it. I was going to marry you. I decided that I was going to propose on our anniversary, which is actually today.”
The words are falling from his mouth before he can stop them, and he can taste the saltiness from his tears on the tip of his tongue, and yet even the streams of grief aren’t enough to wash away the anguish that envelopes his entire being. It feels as though he’s drowning, the water rising faster than he can fight it, filling his lungs and yet there’s nothing he can do but breathe it in.
“I was going to spend the rest of my life with you, I’d decided, and we’d talked about our wedding, and the color dress you wanted, the flavor of cake we’d decided on, and we decided we were going to have kids. I had the ring ready, I made a reservation two weeks before just to make sure it would be at your favorite restaurant. I bought my suit already, I had the whole day planned out. In fact, I almost proposed to you that day in the diner, at two o’clock in the morning and goddamnit I wish I did. But I’m just too much of a coward and I loved you too much, getting lost in your eyes as you laughed over some shitty joke. It would’ve been worth it, to be promised as yours even if it only lasted two weeks. I’m never going to stop loving you, and I know you hate it when I cry, but I just have to tell you. If only I-“
Another sob tears through his throat, disrupting the peaceful silence that has settled in the quiet field of flowers. All of a sudden, his body is shaking with the sobs that erupt from his throat, the bitter scars and broken pieces of his heart pouring out of him. He waits a few moments, steadying his breathing and piecing himself back together before he continues. He has to finish, he can’t bear to hold onto the feelings anymore. They sit like burdens on his chest as another sleepless night passes, they hang onto the tips of his fingers when he grips onto the tear-stained sheets. He waits until he feels ready to continue.
“I brought you flowers. Primroses. And you’re probably thinking that I’m such a cheesy dork for it, and I am, but they’re primroses because the florist told me they mean eternal love. This sounds so fucking stupid but it’s worth it if it makes you smile. I wish I could see you smile again. But, I have to go now, Jimin-hyung will murder me if I don’t make it to dance practice on time. I’ll see you next week, hm? God, I probably sound like an idiot right now. I’ve always been your idiot though.”
He wipes away the wet patches of salty liquid that stain his cheeks, the skin around his puffy eyes blotchy, streaked with tears. But there’s a small, half-tender half-sad smile playing across his lips when he finishes.
For the first time in a long while, Jungkook smiles a genuine, real smile.
“I love you, I really hope you know that.”

You see him there. Standing in front of the store window. He doesn’t do anything, just stares until you notice him before disappearing into the crowded city streets. You can’t help but be shocked. He’d been gone for years, leaving you to wallow in your misery and self doubt.
Four hours left in your shift and you didn’t have to guess where you’d find him. Probably in the same place he always was when he decided to show up again. Every minute you stood there, greeting customers and cleaning up after them you couldn’t help but the think of what you’d actually say to him.
What you wanted was to yell, to scream until your voice left you. Maybe you’d quietly tell him to leave and never come back. But you’d done all of that before. No matter what you had to put your foot down. You shouldn’t have let it continue for so long anyway.
-
Four hours later and your hunch was correct. Door still locked, he sat right at your kitchen table nonchalantly leaning back as if he belonged there. At one point he did, but the memory of it alone is enough to make your chest ache.
“What is it Shoot?” You sigh, dropping your bag and keys on the table. You follow suit, dropping into a chair to sit across from him.
He’s quiet as you sit down, hand fiddling with the material of his shirt. Nervous habit, you knew all too well how hard they were to break.
“Why are you so upset?” And he asks it as if there’s nothing wrong. Like it was normal for him to be here. Your irritation was only growing as you stared at the man in front of you.
“What a stupid question.” You mumble, pulling a cigarette out of the pack in your pocket. Before you have time to react he’s crushing it between his fingers, eyes trained on you while he speaks
“I thought you stopped smoking.” It’s almost a question and his eyes are full of concern.
“Believe it or not, a lot changes when you’re not here. My life keeps moving without you.”
“Ah” he says, as if he’s finally realizing it.
“Do you think I might’ve changed since we last met?” You give him a once over, shaking your head ‘no’ before he continues.
“Maybe you can’t see it.” His eyes are guarded as he waits for your reaction. You know what this is before he even has time to finish. He was trying to sway you, make you believe he was different and let him stay for the night. And in the morning you’d be alone again.
“Ah..” you sigh, mimicking him. With a nod of your head, you pretend to play along.
“How many hours are you going to be a changed man?” You cross your arms “One? Two? Are you going to at least wait until I fall asleep this time?”
He lets out an exasperated sigh, finally letting an emotion play across his face. Irritation. How ironic. “Why do you have to be so -“
“You’re the one who decided to leave, Shoot.”
“And you always let me come back.” he says calmly. “How do you think I feel?” There’s guilt in his eyes, as if he means to say that  he knows the pain he’s caused and that it’s eating him alive. But the way it sounds when it hits your ears is that because you accepted him over and over again, you’ve caused him unnecessary grief. His words are enough to make you overlook the sad expression lingering on his face.
“Oh no... don’t you sit there and try to blame this on me! You left. I didn’t. Don’t make yourself out to be the victim here Shoot! I didn’t fuck up your emotions. That was all you!” There’s a pause as he stares at you. That’s how he always was. Always so composed but you could tell what he was thinking nonetheless.
“That’s not what I was trying to do” and there’s this resolve in his voice, as if he’s accepted the fact that this isn’t going in the direction he wanted it to.
You pinch the bridge of your nose, closing your eyes before responding. “Well, what were you trying to do then?”
And you know the your next words are harsh, but after years of holding your tongue you don’t care to mince your words for his benefit. He pauses to consider your question and that’s when you say it “Or do you not want to talk about it like usual? It’s just too fucking difficult you’re gunna have to run away like you always do, right?”
All he does is grit his teeth. But it’s that reaction alone tells you the most. Like the flip of a switch, anger swallowed any sadness that was left on his face, and that was enough to prove him right. He wasn’t the person who left you all those years ago. You lean back in your chair with a sigh, choosing to ignore the tension in the room and his piercing gaze. No, this wasn’t the same Shoot. he should’ve left by now. But you know old dogs rarely learn new tricks. Just because he learned a new one didn’t mean he was the type of man to stay. He’d proven that time and time again.
“The doors open, Shoot.”
You rub your temples. This exchange has already dragged on far too long and the exhaustion you felt earlier from work was slowly returning to you.
He chuckles, it’s something dark and it makes your eyes snap open to look at him. He looks relaxed, like he’d finally gotten what he came for. But there’s tension hidden in his body. The loose fabric of his clothes couldn’t hide that.
“You always liked to hear yourself talk.”
And he says it as if he hasn’t been gone for years. Says it like you’re willing to concede if he just pushes hard enough. If he pressed the right buttons. It makes your stomach turn. Not again. You were done with this game.
“Yeah and look what good that did me.” You counter his laugh with a smile that doesn’t reach your eyes. “All that begging and I still ended up alone.”
You get up before you have time to see his reaction. it’s over, you shouldn’t care about the sting your words would leave him with. Slowly you move behind him to the balcony, letting your arms hold you tight, as if to keep yourself from falling apart.
You were too tired to be angry, too exhausted to bicker with him much longer. Yes, you loved him. Loved him since you were kids and that’s why you knew better than anyone that his word meant nothing. He was a man of inaction, it was in his nature to flee at the first sign of a fight. And after all these years, you loved him even though he was nothing but a coward.
You could give in tonight and wake up with an empty bed in the morning, or save yourself the heartache and make him leave right now.
The view on the balcony wasn’t bad for how cheap this place was. City stretched before you, lights and people converging as if it was just one giant organism. The sun was setting but, in a place like this there was rarely any peace. People scurried like ants, darting around as they quickly made their way home, to work, to restaurants and clubs. This big city with all these people and he still managed to find the one he was looking for. All so he could satisfy his guilt while paying no mind to how you felt. Yeah, It was time.
“The door, Shoot. It was nice catching up but I have work in the morning.” It’s quiet but you know he’s heard you.
There’s some shuffling as he gets up and you don’t let yourself turn around to see him leave again. You know what it looks like and you know the emotion that would climb it’s way out of your chest if you saw it one more time.
What you don’t expect is the feeling of his chest pressing against your back. The warmth there enough to make you release a quiet gasp. You were almost positive he would’ve taken the opportunity to leave. His arm pulls you closer as the words leave his lips.
“I’m sorry”
“I’ve heard it.” You snap, willing the anger and frustration back down your throat. “I’ve heard the ‘I love you’s and the promises to change before, Shoot. I’ve heard it all.” You can’t help it when your voice cracks, or the tears that start sliding down your face.
“Just save it and leave. Don’t make it even harder for me.”
He turns you around and he’s wearing this expression you haven’t seen on him before. You’d call it determination, that was the only thing you could describe it as, but there was something else there too.
His movements are slow and you can already tell where this is headed. In a few moments his lips are on yours, fingers tight against your chin holding you in place. You try to fight it, try to pull away but he can tell that the effort is half hearted and it only spurs him on even more. If you truly didn’t want it you would’ve stopped him earlier.
After a few seconds you give in to the taste of his mouth mixed with tears. It’s warm, it’s familiar and you can’t help but lean into it. You know it’s wrong but it’s too late to stop. When he finally lets you go you’ve shattered in his grasp. Resolve broken, there’s nothing left to hold back the flood of emotion that’s built up inside of you for years.
“I hate you!” You scream. And you hope beyond anything that the same man who would leave is still in there. You could pick up the pieces later but if he stayed it’d only be worse once he was gone. You try to push him away, tears soaking your shirt as you shove against his unforgiving chest.
“I hate you.. I hate you.” The words slowly fizzle into sobs that wrack through your body. Shoot only pulls you closer, arm coming to fit snug against your waist.
“I’m not leaving, y/n. Huh? Look at me. I’m not leaving.”
You can barely see through the tears flooding your eyes but it’s there. That resoluteness etched deep within the lines of his face. You prayed it was deep enough for him to have changed, you prayed it was shallow enough for him to leave for the final time and spare the ache in your heart. You prayed to be free of this cycle.
You lean into his chest, immediately soaking the fabric there. Your voice is a whisper when you finally speak again.
“I don’t believe you.”
“You don’t have to.” He whispers, ”Just give me a chance to prove it.”
You don’t speak, don’t react as he lifts you up and carries you inside. How long has it been since he was here? In your apartment? Your bedroom? You don’t remember, but it feels like a thousand lifetimes ago.
Soft kisses litter your pliant body as soon as he lays you on the bed. It’s different than the usual way he’s done it. Something tender flows through him and into you with each press of his mouth. Maybe he can sense that you’ve given up. It didn’t matter how hard you tried to fight it, you always ended up underneath him.
But there’s something so guilt free about the way he undresses you, lays you before him and gives a kiss to your mound. his touch is far sweeter than what you’ve come to expect. Before, he’d rush quickly through the act to outrun the guilt that slowly built up inside of him. But now, he takes his time, savoring every minute he can as his mouth sucks bruises into your hips. your thighs. There’s a tender moment before he buries his face between your them, quickly licking a stripe up your center before stopping to suck on your sensitive clit. Once he has a taste he can’t stop himself from taking what he came for. He doesn’t have the patience to.
Whimpers mix with the sobs that leave your throat. You could never help the way your body responded to his touch, couldn’t help the way slick dripped down your thighs at the mere thought of his mouth on you. And he doesn’t let any of it go to waste, lapping up everything you have to offer him. He’s starved, and now was his chance to have as much as he wanted.
He had been selfish, he knew that. But as much as he was giving right now he was aware of how much he was taking. This was no different. Your body underneath his. Legs tight around him as he ate his fill and then some, not stopping when you arched against him. A broken wail leaves your throat. No, he was still selfish. He needed all of you, every last drop.
There’s no break, no rest as he pushes you over the edge. You can tell he’s not trying to make up for lost time. He couldn’t change the past or the mistakes he’d made along the way. It wasn’t guilt either. No sadness in his face or in his movements against you. It was a desperate need that drove him, nothing more. You’d never seen this much of him. Still fully clothed, he left his heart lying naked on the sheets for you to see. It’s so overwhelming that it makes your head spin. Coupled with the orgasm still rushing through your body, it was enough to make you go limp beneath him. Before you know it, he’s lifting his mouth off of you, giving you respite from the pleasure for only a few seconds. Shoot kneels between your open legs as he deftly pushes two fingers deep within your cunt.
It’s indescribable. You hadn’t felt this good in such a long time, the pleasure of your last orgasm still so fresh that his thumb moving against your clit bordered on painful.
“I love you” and he says it like it’s not a mere feeling, but an absolute fact. His eyes bore into you, stern expression on his face as he fucks his digits in and out of your soaked core. He feels it. The clench around him as he says it. There’s no denying what his words are doing.
“Stop it Shoot.” The tears come back again with a vengeance as you cover your face with your arm. He speeds up, thumb brushing quicker at the bud hidden between your folds.
“I love you y/n”  and there’s this conviction in his voice you can’t ignore. But you know better. Sobs shake your body as you clench tight around him again. If he kept it up you weren’t going to last very long.
He’s moving, determined expression still on his face as he kisses his way up your stomach to your chest, nipping at a pert nipple before giving the same attention to the other. His lips are on your neck, sucking and biting dark bruises into your sensitive skin.
“You don’t have to say it. You’ve done enough for me sweetheart.”
His warm mouth presses against the hollow of your neck before continuing.
“Just come for me okay?”
You can’t help but to obey. You whine as your body tightens around him before it suddenly lets go. All the pain, the hurt, the betrayal is forgotten as he works his tongue into your mouth, taking every noise you make for himself. It’s mind numbing and the wind is knocked from you at the sheer force of it. You move your arm to fist the sheets underneath you, an electric current still pulsing through your veins as he stills his digits inside and switches to just lazily rubbing your clit in circles.
Shoot watches with rapture at the pleasure on your face, eyes red with tears and lips swollen from his mouth. He wanted more. Wanted to take everything you could give him and then some. To make you cry with pleasure as he pushed your body to it’s limits. But this night wasn’t for him and he was aware that you had given everything you could. It wasn’t about what he wanted. So he pulls his fingers out and undresses, shushing you when you start to tell him you can’t, your too tired. “I don’t want that” he whispers.
He crawls in bed next to you, holding your naked body close as he places kisses to your neck. your breathing evens out and you fall asleep much quicker than he expected. but it was okay. In the morning he’d be there. He’d prove himself to you and would take whatever you were willing to give afterwards
