An important (and overwinded) announcement regarding this blog below the cut.

Hello everyone! This is Rawkin Ghoul/ Tumblr Ghoul/ Tumblrina/ Soda/ etc etc.

First thing’s first: no, this blog is not an official Ghost social media account.

I started this blog in late 2022 when ghost-official started blowing up (I do not believe this one to be real either, and honestly I won’t believe they have a Tumblr until it is linked on their official website) and thought, “wow, I could make a better Ghost blog than that. One that’s way better organized and actually advertises properly for them, and posts regularly!” So I did.

Originally it was meant as just that, a little joke between some friends, and wasn’t meant to really get farther than that. But then I thought, Ghost does have a lot of fans on Tumblr- a lot of exquisitely talented and devoted fans. Maybe I can kinda “roleplay” it for a while, build almost a bit of a portfolio, and then either offer the blog to management or offer to run it for them officially, for fun, if they were interested.

More time passes and more people followed. I thought “xofficial” as a username was a common enough joke/ gimmick that people would realize it wasn’t for real (and in fact, when I first searched the URL, I found that this username was once in use years ago! Sorry, previous owner), especially after posting that April Fools joke post- this was wrong of me to assume. There are a lot of roleplay/ joke “official” Ghost accounts all over the web but I failed to really properly disclaim that I was one of them.

I of course don’t plan to reach out to Ghost anymore and haven’t for some time, for multiple reasons including Tumblr just not being a good website for advertising. But another one is I got pretty loose on here. Tumblr is so different from Twitter and Insta and all that- you guys (and myself! I go here too) don’t want to have someone sell something to you- but you do love interaction and jokes and solving things together.

I think we can all admit it- when Ghost is dormant, the fans can get bored and even agitated, and can start to have a go at eachother. I’m certainly not guiltless there either. I wouldn’t say I’m notorious or even particularly well known in general but I’ve gotten into drama here and there. I figured the blog would be a fun way not just to distract the community, but really engage with it. The blog passed 5k a month or so ago and I started thinking, we could do something really cool with it. Smaller events like fanart contests and zines. But what if we did more? Organizing pre-ritual meetups. Larger community projects like fan-made music videos. ARG. Maybe even a short video game- there are so many incredibly skilled and hard-working Ghost fans and I wanted to try to bring them together because I think our love for Ghost, for whatever reason we love them, screams so loud and everyone deserves recognition (also a reason I started Fanart Friday as a regular thing).

You guys know I do my best to keep up with your tagging and what you’re saying and everything and I’ve seen the people pointing out the blog isn’t real from the beginning- I didn’t want to address it directly at first because I thought if nothing else people enjoyed the mystery.

But, more lately there’s been more and more people who are agitated, disappointed, and even a little scared to hear that this blog is not official.

I want to offer my very sincere apologies to people who I made feel that way. I should have made it obvious sooner- I know so well that there are a lot of very young Ghost fans especially who wouldn’t necessarily surmise that this isn’t real. I’m really sorry to those of you I disappointed.

I will never ask you for money here, or any personal information, or send asks anonymous or otherwise from here or my main personal blog as “Tumblr Ghoul”. I have had one person ask to message me so I messaged them to allow them to do that. If somebody contacts you claiming to be the person running this blog, they are lying. Please block them. My interactions here I aim to keep as public as possible, hence being increasingly liberal with replies and reblogs as the number of people interacting grew.

My only goal with this blog is to advertise for a band that I love and to entertain/ help the fandom when and where I can. I love and appreciate all the fanart and interest in the character of Tumblr Ghoul but I don’t want anybody to feel obligated to me and I especially don’t want to hurt anybody. I started this blog for fun and that how I want it to remain- fun for everyone.

People pointed out when I didn’t post for some time a few months back and it was because I had lost interest in the blog and was going through a rough time- and then one particularly bad day I got on to check it by chance and just seeing your guy’s tags and comments made me feel so much better. I tell people that I found Ghost when I really needed a friend and they fulfilled that for me, but the past few months you guys have done just the same for me. I am so sorry to have betrayed that and made you feel unsafe and lied to in return.

As of posting I do intend to still run the blog as I have been (with a disclaimer added to the bio regarding the legitimacy of this account)- posting about tours, chapters, merch, etc, as well as Fanart Friday. I 100% understand if anybody doesn’t want to be involved in that, so anybody who has tagged me in something and don’t want it on the blog now, I can open messages and you can let me know. I will probably close them again after a week or so if I get a large flood of unrelated messages.

Please do not message me asking me who I am, who knows about the blog, etc. Gaining popularity was never something I wanted from this so I will stay anonymous, for the time being at the very least. A very small number of people know who is behind the blog and to my knowledge only one of them is even on Tumblr and in the fandom.

Thank you for all the support you’ve shown me, Ghost, and eachother. It can be easy to see the bad parts of a community and roll your eyes electing to keep your distance, but since starting this blog I’ve been reminded what good community is even when it’s frustrating sometimes.

Thank you for reading, I won’t hold it against anybody who wants to separate themselves from this blog at this point, and please don’t let my oversight and general dummyness sour your experience with Ghost or its other fans. hey everyone!! so, originally, i wanted to do one of these back when all of y'all were posting your 'follow forever' + favorite blogs lists for new year's eve, but at that point in time i didn't feel like i knew anyone well enough to make a full list. but now, it's been almost nine months (holy shit!!!) since i joined this fandom, and there have been so many people that i've connected with and who have made my experience on here so much fun and so special.

plus...it's my birthday today, so i thought - what better way to celebrate it than to show my immense love & appreciation for all my mutuals, followers friends, and anyone who has ever made my tumblr experience better?

1- When did you start playing Choices? What's the first book you played? 

I started playing back in 2018. I kept seeing this thing called “playchoices” trending as number 1 on Tumblr (lol remember those days?). This would happen, without fail, almost every week! When I clicked on it, the posts were all about the finale of a royal story (The Royal Romance!). People made the most hilarious posts, complete with memes. I had no idea what it was, but I gathered it was an app. I downloaded it, and the rest is history. 

The first book I played was Desire and Decorum. It was absolute torture because it wasn’t completed yet. So I binged the available chapters. Yes, I spent real money on keys and diamonds, telling myself at least I wasn't spending that money on drugs. It was so much fun waiting for a new chapter every week, even if I’m an impatient mess. 

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined the fandom almost immediately after downloading the app. 

As I sat in my living room, tapping my foot and waiting for the new D&D chapter to drop, I went back into the playchoices tag for content. It felt good to find other people who loved the story as much as I did. There were other users out there who were also waiting impatiently for the new chapter, writing fics and discussing theories in the meantime. There were also some of the funniest memes I have ever seen in my life. At first, I would quietly read and reblog. Then, I slowly started posting my own thoughts and theories (which were not very good lol but hey, this is tumblr after all).

3- How did you pick your url name? 

My life is one hyperfixation after another… The one before Choices was Harry Potter. More specifically, the Marauders era. I used to write for the pairing called “Jily”, composed of Harry Potter’s (dead) parents. Kelsey (@takeharryandgo) is a witness of just how much I love James Potter, Harry’s (dead) dad. In fact, our shared love for the pairing and character is one of the things that brought us together. 

In short, this URL is a reference to James Potter the first, Harry’s (dead) dad. Not James Sirius Potter the second, Harry Potter’s (living?) son. 

I saved it as a sideblog, meant only for writing resources for me to use at a later time. One day, I decided I didn’t want the followers on my main page to see all the Choices spam I was posting, so I resurrected the JP blog.

5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?

I’ve been writing fanfiction since I was a literal child. I used to write in a notebook and my friends would read during recess. It was awful but they were into it. One day, I used up the whole notebook and my friend was desperate for the next part of the story. I told her I needed to wait until my mom took me to the store (literal child) to get a new one. My friend got me a new one by the end of the day lol.

TL;DR that puts me at about 20+ years of writing. 

6- What is your favorite Choices book to write about?

Without a doubt, Open Heart! 

7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it or would you change anything about it?

Oh god, the first fanfic I wrote was Lily Evans and James Potter from the Harry Potter universe. I forgot the exact title, but it was named after an Avril Lavigne lyric. Again, I was a child, don’t judge me lol. It’s handwritten in a notebook I still have somewhere, but I will never open it again lest I die of cringe. 

My first Choices fic, on the other hand, was a Desire and Decorum fic called “A Wedding Gift” that only like 5 people read at the time. 

8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

Oof. This answer changes depending on the day you ask me. I always overthink it and end up saying picking a favorite fic is like picking a favorite child. To avoid being here all day, however, I’m going to say: Fake Husband, She Walks in Beauty, and Lovely.

9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but could use a little more love?

Definitely, the fic I didn’t expect to do well at all if my first Open Heart fic: Lovely. 

I was so naive back then, knowing nothing about the Open Heart writing fandom. I had no idea what format or tags to use when posting. I was afraid there would be no readers out there who wanted to read a silly little story about my MC posting a thirst trap. All I knew was that the latest chapter of Open Heart Year 2 inspired an idea that wouldn’t leave me alone until I wrote it. 

I posted it and I was so incredibly lucky to receive so much support. Words cannot explain how special that was. To this day, I cannot verbalize how grateful I am for that. 

There isn’t really a fic I can think of that could use more love. It always amazes me that anyone gives my fics their time. So any feedback my fics get will always be valued and treasured by me. 

10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? 

Oh no. 

If forced to choose, I’d say fluff. 

11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

Absolutely! While I try to make every MC different, I often pull from experience when I write. My Open Heart MC and I have a lot of things in common (heritage, hometown, astrological sign, etc.) But I also wanted her to be her own character with life choices that are different from mine. Since I'm very boring, it definitely makes for better fiction that way. 

12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?

It depends on the day. Some days I struggle the most with dialogue. Others, my biggest struggle is descriptions. It's rare when I feel confident in both when I write. 

13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

*laughs nervously in unfinished series*

There are a few series I have yet to finish. Once again, I apologize for leaving them untouched for so long! I plan to get my shit together soon! 

14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first? 

No! 

I don't think I could look anyone in the eye if they read some of the stuff I've written, especially for Choices. 

15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?

I strongly believe that one of the best ways to learn as a writer is reading. As such, I believe I've learned from most pieces I've read, particularly published rom com novels. In the fanfiction world, I admire my lovely friend @takeharryandgo. I've had the absolute joy of following her writing for over a decade. And with every work, I am still amazed by her masterful way with words! And her characterization is always spot-on. I simply love to read her spellbinding work and learn from the master! 

Other writers/creators I admire are:

@heauxplesslydevoted- one of the first OH writers I've ever read! Her smut is top-tier!

@jerzwriter - her stories, dialogue, and characterization are a delight to read. Her angst is painful. Her smut is sizzling hot! 

@liaromancewriter - a true master at romance! Her writing style is magical and synonymous with the best of rom-coms! 

@genevievemd - I bow down because the amount of love and care she puts into every piece truly makes her work special! 

 @lucy-268 - I have always respected the amount of research she puts into every piece. She pours so much care into it so that the narrative flows seamlessly! 

@a-crepusculo - her writing is so vivid and immersive. Reading her work is like listening to the most beautiful of symphonies!

@writer-ish - she is such a master at the craft! Her characterization is so vivid that the reader will fall in love no matter the format. Her text edits are legendary! 

@bex-la-get - such a talented and dedicated writer! She also pours hours of research into her work, ensuring every detail makes sense! 

@potionsprefect - she's such a creative and talented writer. She develops writing ideas like no one else I've ever seen! 

@headoverheelsforramsey- I love her storytelling and characterization! She's created a beautiful, inspiring, and intelligent MC for all of us to adore!

@gryffindordaughterofathena - her writing style is one of the most original I've ever seen. Reading her work feels like reading the loveliest of poetry! 

@coffeeheartaddict2- the dedication she puts into her work blows me away! She's daring when exploring themes in her writing, and she's not afraid to pull from personal experience. 

@lsvdw-blog - the person I'm sending my therapy bill to. Just kidding! Her writing is beautiful, even when it's the most painful angst. 

@trappedinfanfiction - she is such a lovely writer. The amount of detail she's given both of her MC's back stories has my absolute respect! 

@quixoticdreamer16 - I adore her MC and the wholesome, beautiful background she's given her! 

@mysticalgalaxysstuff - Another MC that has stolen my heart. I am so happy she started writing this past year because she's a real talent! 

@peonierose - love her beautiful MC and the beautiful love story she built for her with Bryce! 

@cariantha - a brilliant writer with talent for days! 

16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series? 

I would love to see She Walks in Beauty along with its series (1800s AU) in live action. Imagine Ana de Armas and David Gandy in period costumes? That alone would be worth it! 

17- Do you write original stories? 

I've crafted and outlined original stories before but I've never actually written them. One of my biggest goals for the new year is to finally start. Wish me luck! 

18 -  What other hobbies do you have?

I love reading, hiking, and dancing! 

Yes, I picked the most “impressive” of my hobbies to seem cool. On most days, you'll catch me cuddling with my dog or bf watching YouTube/TikTok/Hell's Kitchen reruns lol. 

19 - What’s your favorite emoji? 

I used the orange 🧡 and purple 💜 hearts a lot because they're my favorite colors!

Long post ahead. Looking at what's going on around our fandom, here's a pre-emptive guide on..

Reporting someone who is harassing you on AO3 and on Tumblr.

Making your case clear-cut

You're defending against an attacker, not instigating the attack. Find a post in which your harasser was the first to antagonise you, and use that.

It should be very clear that the harassment is meant for you. Were you tagged in a post in which you were harassed? Did your harasser leave a nasty comment on your post or fic? Did your harasser send you an Ask? Those will work. What's not going to work is if someone writes an essay on "People who step on legos for fun really suck", and you assume that it's directed at you because you like stepping on legos. There's no clear link in those cases.

Leave the evidence intact. Don't delete anything. If you're sent an ask, let it marinate in your inbox. If you're gifted a fic, don't reject it. Just leave it be.

Document. The harasser might delete their post or comment. Save the URL, and obtain a screenshot with time and date visible somewhere in the screenshot.

Reporting On AO3

Before you report...

Know what you're reporting by reading the terms of service. Search for "IV. Content and Abuse Policies" to get to the bit you're looking for.

After that, here's how to go about your report.

Click here to get to the page where you can file your report. If the link doesn't work, it's under "Policy Questions & Abuse Reports".

Keep it to just the facts. There is no character limit, but the people reading these reports are human and it would be nice if you made their job easier by being concise. State what the problem is, what you've tried to get it to stop, and what the harasser has done. Provide evidence, otherwise it's all hearsay.

Here's an example: I would like to report a case of Harassment (section IV.G of the ToS) directed at me by the user boatyard18. On 3rd January 2020 I was gifted the work linked in this report by boatyard18. The work included a message directed at me, in which they falsely claimed that I "love stepping on legos". To provide some background, boatyard18 has explicitly been asked to stop communicating with me on 1st January 2020 via a Tumblr post (linkhere). I have also blocked them on Tumblr in an attempt to stop communication. This has clearly not worked, as they have looked for me on a different platform to try and communicate with me. Thank you for your time.

Don't submit more than 1 ticket. AO3 works quite quickly and they look at every single report.

Reporting On Tumblr

Before you report...

Make sure you've blocked the user prior to their continued harassment.

(optional but helpful) Explicitly stated publicly or in a DM that you don't want them to interact with you.

Read and understood which policy is being violated.

These steps are important, because it will show that you've done what's in your power to prevent the person from harassing you and there's nothing left for you to do but take it up to Tumblr.

If all these check your boxes, here's how to go about your report:

Don't respond negatively, or just don't respond at all. Don't give the harasser you're reporting anything to use against you. Don't say anything that invites them to talk to you.

Click here to get to the form. Keep it short. The report form has a limit of 360 characters. State what the problem is, what you've tried to get it to stop, and what the harasser has done. Keep it factual.

Here's an example: I'd like to report that I am being harassed by the user boatyard18. I blocked the user as of 1st Jan 2020 and told them to stop communicating with me [linkhere]. Since then, boatyard18 has made a post linked in this report, in which they uploaded screenshots of my blog, tagged me, and wrote a message to me. Thank you for looking into this.

Don't submit more than 1 ticket within 14 days, unless you have something new to report. In my experience, Tumblr may take some time to take action and probably will not get back to you about the resolution. Unless 2 weeks have passed, then maybe it got lost or there was a glitch and you might want to submit another one.

anddd apollo! foster’s boyfriend! the t4t couple ever. he originates from the same aforementioned comic. canonically he works at the same tattoo/piercing shop as aella but aella is not super relevant to his story, that’s more for me lol. apollo is very much a foil to foster and is also foster’s fire tbh… they love each other SO MUCH i love writing about them ok.

oh it is never too late to come get loved on! but also everyone hold onto ur butts 'cause I have so. many. nice things to say about the amazing human being that is KG!!

We are, as you put it so perfectly yourself, in cahoots. If I remember it right, we first became acquainted a little over 3 and a half years ago, not very long after I started writing Caleb in the first place - in fact I think it was when I still had him contained on a sideblog to an old multimuse and you had Dolores on a solo blog. We tried writing a few threads and ask memes back and forth which went pretty well considering I was still very much figuring out who Caleb was at that point, but looking back I can see how inexperienced I was and how I didn't really know what direction to take anything in, which I think is what contributed the most to us drifting apart after a while, but you know, sometimes that happens.

When we both sort of made a comeback after the announcement that another season of Westworld was indeed happening and we found each other again we started back up with some classic Dolores and Caleb bonding for old time's sake, and then after the first few episodes of season 4 premiered we got to talking and you told me you were really tempted to add Maeve to your multi and naturally I went "do it" and the rest is history. Maeve and Caleb quickly became one of my favorite OTPs and they remain because their dynamic is so damn fun to write.

We've been blowing up each other's notifications on tumblr and discord and occasionally wire on a pretty consistent basis for over a year and a half now with anything and everything from angst to action to romance to the difficult, hard-hitting questions and humanistic wonders and fluff and anything in between. Chatting with each other to the effect of "so I noticed A Thing the last time I saw this" and plotting cute scene ideas and being all 'will you... [gets down on one knee] ship with me? 🥺🥺" and yelling enthusiasm about our threads and headcanons or just dropping by occasionally to say hi and check up on each other as life continues to life on us, sometimes quite harshly.

I was a bit surprised when I saw you mention you had only just finished watching X-Files season 1 and were adding Scully as a muse, but I knew this character would be in good, capable hands the moment you decided to pick her up. It's so easy to see in every single post you make just how much she means to you, how much you love her as a muse and how driven you are to doing her canon justice with your portrayal. It's been really exciting and a full beans honor to kick off another lil fledgling relationship between Scully and Caleb and I can't wait to see where they wind up going with it.

I could literally continue to go on for HOURS but I really just need everyone to know how superb KG is.

I've been roleplaying since 2011/2012. My first platform to roleplay off on was Paigeeworld and then around 2015/2016-2017, I ended up moving to Amino which was a literal hellhole. I wouldn't recommend Amino at all. I was roleplaying on Amino from 2016/2017 to 2018/2019ish?

I was kind of switching back and forth between Discord and Amino although I can't remember much when it comes to years. I know for a fact, I started being really active on Tumblr possibly 2019/2020 and yes, I remember my very very old URL back then. If you guys remember the URL fandomroleplayer7633 or naosh-of-muses, well, the blog is long gone by now. I don't know if I have any other old blogs, if I do, I probably forgot the email and password especially the blog URLs.

I've been roleplaying on Tumblr for over least four to five years. Back then, I started out on mobile and then I finally shifted to Tumblr desktop halfway through 2020. In 2020, I was roleplaying on Tumblr as a way to cope with what's been going on around me outside of roleplaying.

Below this keep reading/read more section, I will be talking about how deep it was for me to roleplay on Tumblr and how roleplaying impacted me here on Tumblr. Just prepare for venting and rambling. Be prepared for emotional responses and all.

I was 17 years old when I first started roleplaying on Tumblr and back then, I wasn't exactly in the right state of mind because I know for a fact, I was dealing with my own issues and I was using Tumblr as a way to avoid tackling my issues IRL head-on. I was also using Tumblr as a way to cope back then but now, I go on Tumblr as a hobby and I roleplay on Tumblr for fun instead of just using Tumblr as a coping mechanism.

Truth be told, I'd rather focus on the positive aspect more than the negative aspect. The thing is...I'm really glad that I got to meet so lovely folks during my time of roleplaying here on Tumblr despite some of those folks who I consider as friends being with me since 2019/2020. I'm glad to be able to roleplay here on Tumblr, I'm glad to be able to spread my wings. I'm glad to be able to learn about Tumblr pages, themes, etc. I'm glad for those who taught me on how to make icons, how to trim, etc.

i just got so emotional over old ask chains bc of this, god you remember those days????? in 2012-2016 when this was a thing all the time and people had so much fun learning about one another and making friends??? i just happened to be looking at tags on my ollllllld second blog right before seeing this too. that feels a bit serendipitous, dont you think? :')

instead of just "3 random facts" i think i'll use this ask as a springboard prompt for a brief history of my time here on this website, since a lot of folks are returning and it might be nice to come out and see what some of my old lost chums might be up to now.

In mid-2011 i joined tumblr because i realized all my favorite dA artists were posting on dA less and on here more. I didn't do much here until i encountered a piece of fanart of a character from a certain webcomic, got curious about that comic, enjoyed it, and discovered that there was a big community on tumblr who liked it! my first ever URL was.... man i don't really remember! Maybe something reflecting my dA name at the time? But i don't remember what that was then either, having deleted that account ages ago. but i think my second one was "gamzeecryingalonewithpie" or something to that effect because the "laughing alone with salad" stock photo meme was big. It was so silly.

Eventually i trended into making all my urls/handles some sort of pun having to do with death, and some years ago i settled on my current url for a twitter handle because it really hit me in a place. My best friend and currently roommate @mossspores came up with it!

Anyhow, i basically spent all my time on tumblr being comparatively insufferable from 2011 to about 2017 before i migrated the majority of it to twitter. At the moment, I actually keep looking at all my archived posts from my old blog trying to find some old OC stuff and being ridiculously embarrassed at how silly (ignorant? abrasive? entitled?) my young self was. I'm not certain about sharing my olllllld URLs besides the one from before, but probably my most famous one was "ammodramus"--I was bestowed the nickname "Ammo" for the longest time and probably gained the most followers during the run of that one. I think the most followers i ever got up to was somewhere around 700 on my first blog and close to 1,800 on my second one. (funny now, i've had this particular blog probably the longest out of the three and barely have over 100. i like this better, though.)

Now for the BIGGEST thing i was part of....i was really into the whole once-ler fandom craze. yeah. i was there on the ground floor, and basically became one of the biggest enablers of the ask-blog phenomenon. i even tried really hard to make my own of the "personification" blogs eventually, but it fell down flat because i was in a dark place mentally on the side while also dealing with the gradual degradation of my physical ability to draw (aka painful arthritis). But i had the most fun i had ever had online before in the thick of it. i made toooons of friends and i even still keep in touch with a few of them. There were a lot of mistakes and upsetting blunders made by myself and a lot of people i knew, but these days i think i'm generally okay outing myself as having been a part of it. i mean, it's been ten goddamn years since that kicked off after all. lmfao. i was also an ignorant teenager.

Now you'll just see me skulking about on here vaguely while reblogging posts in short bursts because i still never took to figuring out how queuing posts works best. For a long-ass time i had a tagging system i took VERY seriously and trigger-tagged religiously. when i remade to my third and current blog, i gave that up and BOY did my mental health suddenly improve or WHAT. i realized i'd been absolutely running myself ragged with caring about appearances and making sure as often as possible to upset NO ONE with my posts. Basically, the way that simply analyzing every single post i shared and making sure to cover ALL my bases to make sure no one felt irked by my sharing of a post, was, uh. To put it mildly, fucking exhausting. And i posted A LOT. I can guarantee i had to have cumulatively reblogged nearly half a million posts between those two accounts. Last i checked on just my second blog, the pages went back into the 10,000s.

so yeah! hi to anyone who read through this whole thing who i knew way back when! I'm doing much better than i used to be, thanks to a lot of therapy and medication. i made it out of the house i grew up in, even the State i grew up in, and feel a lot less like i'm gonna die before 30! :') i've been chilling, playing final fantasy xiv, and eating lots of rice and vegetables. o/

how’d you think of your url/username? what’s it associated with to you?

okay listen. i want you to picture a little girl, about 12 years old, who just learned from her friend at summer camp about something called "fanfiction."

one year later, she is on tumblr and she is in deep. and she learns about this show, "supernatural," which everyone is watching, and apparently people who like that other show about sherlock holmes (and you have read sherlock holmes so you must like that) and doctor who (you like that) really like THIS show.

so she watches it. and is enthralled.

decades (1 more year) passes and she has moved on from this show. she's posted fanfic on other sites, but has started to realize it's popularity on tumblr.gov and says "hey, i could do that."

but she needs a new sideblog. and it needs a name. something familiar, something witty, and something not well thought out so it can happen now.

so she does some wordplay with the most cursed ship of the century (the only one that she really remembers from that show besides destiel) and boom.

see but the thing is, she forgot that people actually read fanfic. and see her blog. and the name. and now she is stuck with it. stuck with this very cursed identity that she chose in a flight of fancy.

that is where my cursed blog name came from. and to be honest, i forgot i had it for a while until one day, someone dmed me asking if i supported wincest, and i remembered that i had. that.

honestly at this point i haven't changed it just because i've had it so long. it would be a huge pain in the ass to like re-get all of the links so that the masterlist actually, uh, works. and tbh people on tumblr have more cursed usernames, mines not that special.

but yeah, whenever i think about it, i think about middle school me first getting into fandom culture on tumblr.

what are your ‘tells’ for your emotions and moods? how can someone tell you’re happy, annoyed, upset or tired?

oh fuck if i know i'm one dense motherfucker. but i'll try anyway.

when i'm happy i either 1) don't shut up or 2) fidget/pace a lot. some may notice that i do this even when i am not happy, which is true, but when i am happy i do it a lot more. i may also do a little jig.

if i'm annoyed i'll look out into the distance like a disney character about to sing. sometimes i'll twitch at anything sensory. and usually i'll answer any questions someone asks in as few words as possible.

if i'm upset you will not know unless i tell you. and that's not me being like "oh yEA i'm so good at hiding my emotions" like some pleb, it's just that when something upsets me i usually go into fixing mode and focus on addressing the problem as well as i possibly can, which usually leaves me kind of detached from the whole thing, so i don't really show any signs of it.

if i'm tired i also usually don't show it, but i do tend to quote a lot of vines/internet jokes. this is because i am Funnyman but if i am too tired to think of something funny to say i will default to an internet joke.

alright, so the time that i was talking about the phone case and also the story wasn’t actually me. in fact, the reason why my friend pretended that i was speaking was because he felt like his presence was cursed.

meaning if he spoken to you in his actual account, he felt like you may hate him and then ignore him like what a lot of people do online.

he hasn’t been feeling good ever since that discord chat with the person telling him that he was a bad shawol and now his confidence level went low as well as his mental health as the situation just gets worse. he’s recovering now by the way and would like to chat to people like a kpop buddy.

he’s really sweet and he often thinks about others first instead of himself. he loves to dance to kpop songs in his room and write his stories on his phone. he’s really creative and is very passionate about nude art. so much that drawing nude art of jonghyun gives him joy and peace. he’s also practicing realism so he could confidently share it with people, mainly those he knew. which was the reason why he made a jonghyun drawing account where he could show me and his friends some art he has been trying to do and since he felt like tumblr was more like a nice space for artists, he would try to add some hashtags so he could find more likeminded people, but it only ever showed up some judgemental people.

also, he does make a little NSFW art as well which was mainly something he does for fun because he always wanted to make it ever since he learned about rule 34 and all that, but he didn’t know how to label his account as nsfw and even if he could, his friends may not be able to access the blog.

you may or may not know the blog’s name but due to the fact that he wants to keep himself private and doesn’t want anyone to blast him out on the internet, i think i would rather dm you the name. but yeah… he has been harassed for making art when really it was a coping mechanism for him. he likes nude art wether it’s rule 34 or not he has always had a passion for making something like that. now, his blog is now privated due to the amount of harassment he has received but he does show me some of his art in dms from time to time but since you cannot make a group chat since that has been taken off years prior (i believe), that’s why he made a blog, and plus we (including him) were new to tumblr which is why we didn’t know which hashtag to use so we would used literally everything that describes the picture such as #kpop #jonghyun #shinee and etc. people had rudely told us to not over tag our posts and due to the nature of their asks, we literally backfired back at them with some of my friends telling them that he’s new to tumblr and doesn’t understand how it works yet.

but he’s fine now and he even changed his url due to privacy in his name. he doesn’t want to be involved in anything and rather stick to his own fans on wattpad since that is his safe place.

if you’d like i could send you his url so you can chat with him and if he asks who are you, just say that i sent you because you’re a mutual. it may take him a while to open up (especially on social media) but trust me he’s so sweet and i promise that you’ll be such a nice friend to him!

It really suck his experience in the fandom has scared him away from interacting with fandom. It wasn't fair for other fans to attack for miss tagging. Especially since you were new. I had a blog with a friend and she would over tag and we got kind of mean messages. And it sucks like she was just tagging as appropriately as she could, I honestly undertag cause I hate tagging I'm to the point if I can just put Haechan or Hendery thats all I'm going to do. I don't even like adding incorrect nct texts\quotes. And there is beautiful in nsfw are and if it makes him happy it genuinely isn't hurting anyone and he shouldn't be made to feel bad for it. And I would never ever ever ignore someone or turn anyone away unless someone is mean. Even then I'd still try to communicate. So he shouldn't feel afraid to talk to me. i’m not really interactive. i like to consume content and move on. it's easier just to get my instant gratification and keep myself from being perceived in any way because it makes me nervous. but even though i don't make use of tumblr’s basic functions, in my mindless haze i still remember feelings, words, and sometimes, urls too.

when i see “rainswept” i think of lyney. i feel like that's self explanatory, via the tag for lyney x reader, i found your blog. to be honest the first few times i came across your work i scrolled past it. wasn't really interested, wanted something shorter. but one morning, i was on the hunt again and actually sat down to read a fic from your account. it took me a while to process it after, and i was very distracted for the rest of the day. weeks later, still thinking about it, the words going from my head to a pit in my stomach that nothing seemed to satisfy. and then, strangely, i found myself looking up “rainswept” more and more often to reread instead of refreshing the daily “lyney x reader”

your writing was not the idle comfort i was used to. it hurt to read, but it hurt worse to be without. i wanted to stay with my personal image of a flirty guy who's just that. flirty. easier to digest. i couldn't.

the way you described lyney in the few works i saw took my soft hand and shoved it into a hot fire of angst. longing. fire that rises, but also falls and churns like the sea. wholly consuming in its warpath. it did not let me keep that image of lyney. in fact, the tides of rising flame tore it away from me. burned it. because there's wayy more to be said about him and how he sees the world than who he falls in love with (“curtain call” is my roman empire)

absolutely crazy idea to me at the time. wow, imagine characters having actual feelings??? wtf. to be described so viscerally, picked apart by language and left crumpled amongst the carnage of your own being on a fandom page is to be loved. i want to love the way you do

so, to me, “rainswept” is the url that introduced me to really passionate interpretations of characters i like and the beauty of prose that holds you as if it were a lingering chill on the darkest of nights. i don't think i would be nearly as interested in trying to understand characters for who they are beyond romance without your work.

GOOD LORD i think something in me literally shattered with this ask. i am SHAKing TREMBLING EVEN i cannog even get a full BREAATH in i;m LOSING MY MIND

this ask is literally the reason i made my blog. the reason i ever posted to begin with. my writing ever being seen like this was my ultimate goal. if there was anything i’ve ever wanted it was this. to move people, to change their minds, to get them to see things beyond their outward appearances — and i guess i’ve achieved that because. oh my god.

i don’t know how to do this ask justice anon. i saw it and if i was standing i think i would have fallen over. you say my prose is beautiful yet yours left me breathless. seriously, not just because it being directed towards me meant so much but also just the quality of it. i understand not wanting to present yourself publicly on tumblr, but i think you are an amazing writer and if you ever did i’d be your first follower. i would read all of the writing of yours i could get my hands on. so if you have ever had any inkling to do that, do it. you only live once (and i’d go feral for it)

speaking of writing. aside from just writing because i want to, my whole mission of sorts on here is to change how people view characters. i know i can’t alter everyone’s perception — if they think someone like lyney is just flirty snd nothing more, they’re usually going to continue thinking that — but to know that i’ve had even one person change their mind on even one character is .. astounding. not even to mention changing how someone views characters as a whole? indirectly causing someone to look deeper into them, to analyze them closer, to pick them apart like you said, to feel more when reading about them? that’s absolutely insane (positive). i will never be the same after this actually.

i write to feel, and i write to make others feel, even emotions i or they may not want to. i like digging deep into characters, into pain and sadness, because i’ve always noticed that stories that hurt stay with me longer. they make me think and think and i keep going back to them. and they may not make me feel better, but i like it anyway because, to me, what is the point of reading if it isn’t going to stick with you? what is the point of feeling if, as soon as you pry your eyes away from the pages, the emotion fades with the ink?

to know that you kept thinking about my writing, then kept coming back, and that i altered the way you view characters is. crazy to me. absolutely crazy. despite desiring it so deeply, i never thought i’d have that effect on someone else.

maybe i changed how you view characters and writing, but you continue to give me the motivation to continue doing so. and actually both are so valuable to me. to know i have moved someone enough for them to send an ask like this. i don’t know how to put into words how much this,,, affected me?? i could honestly die peacefully right now. like this is all i’ve ever wanted.
