#bg3 #baldur's gate 3 #minthara #minthara baenre #evil murder kitten #viconia devir #it's funny to think that at one point in her life minthara admired viconia and was impressed by her rebellion #and the more i learn about viconia in the previous games #the more i understand why minthara would admire her but also see her as a coward #viconia openly and willingly defied lolth fully understanding the consequences of what would come from it - but ran away #whereas minthara's hand was forced away from lolth by the absolute - but was still abandoned all the same (or so minthara thinks)#it's also interesting to see how viconia goes to willingly embrace shar - a god who has many similarities to lolth #and even demands that she use and abuse a child - which is peak irony as child murder is why she defied lolth in the first place #but minthara comes to shun them all and only sees benefit in the gods if there is something to gain #but even minthara thinks it best that shadowheart turns from shar in the end #i know fans of viconia regard bg3's portrayal of her as a character assassination and i don't disagree #but idk i feel like viconia's story could be a glimpse into one of minthara's many futures #especially considering that minthara is a deeply religious person and wants to have a god to worship

neuvillette's lore is actually insane. we all took one look at him and went "haha dragon🫵" but i significantly underestimated how big of a role he would play. he's the incarnation of the original hydro sovereign. he took back his rule right under the heavenly principles' nose. he's the one handing out hydro visions now (not even because he has to, he doesn't, he just grew so fond of humanity that he chooses to). he gave away the hydro gnosis bc he straight up doesn't need it. he's planning to DETHRONE ALL OF THE ARCHONS (in a few hundred years, when the traveler's not around to see it, so it won't be awkward for them). he's kind and soft-spoken. he's full of vengeful rage. he's a father to hundreds. he found his purpose after feeling lost for 500 years. skirk pulled him aside for a super-secret convo and when he saw us again he immediately spilled the tea. as far as i can tell, he spawned into existence fully formed. no other character can fucking compare

i love the penumbra podcast and i love second citadel and i really enjoyed listening to the finale but i feel. weird about the way this show treats its female characters???

#as in... in a show that prides itself on defying gender boundaries and heteronormativity it still seems to frequently push its female and #genderfluid characters to the side? and ik it can't really be called bury your gays in a podcast where most of the characters are queer #(and i also do think it is important for a narrative to give character the endings that make sense rather than prioritising keeping alive #those who weren't meant to live past the end of the story so i'm not necessarily saying that it's sexist #or that caroline and quanyii should have lived for the mere fact of them being second citadel's only lesbian characters)#but it still does feel off somehow? i don't feel that it's easy to say that they were used as a vessel through which to keep the other #characters alive but i just ?????? i don't know if this is something that anyone else feels? i love tragedy in fiction but it just feels #as if this doesnt mean anything...i can see in part how their character arcs were complete but they deserved to have their happy ending and #rather than feeling the devastation of tragedy after having listened to this episode i only feel mild frustration that they weren't able to #live to see the world that they helped save? i think i will have to think of it as a once and future king thing where when olala rises so #too will caroline #i have had complicated feelings about this whole podcast for the last season or so but i can't tell if it is genuinely the podcast or if it #is just the fact that i dont need it as much as i used to and that my love for it hasnt lessened that instead my heart has just grown #bigger around it #so maybe im completely off base with this and that its just an extension of my weird feelings about almost all of season 5 in general but #hmm #also i did not care for caroline that much through the best part of this podcast so its not as though i am annoyed about her dying because #i loved her so much because honestly i didn't love her as much as i wanted to (or as much as i loved olala and quanyii and rilla)#and also!!! it was nice that they were able to be together and have closure!!!! i think it was well done in a general sense i just ???#i can't articulate it any clearer than this #second citadel #tpp #tpp spoilers #the penumbra podcast #the penumbra podcast spoilers

Now, I'm not lucky like Aventurine to bet stuff carelessly and end up being the winner but, BUT, I feel it in my heart that he's an INFJ — just a very very very unhealthy one. Going through the reasonings would require a long character analysis now so I'll spare you that. Though I wonder how people will view him as now, Yandere or not 🤔

"X is just a guy" is a popular phrase to throw around these parts when talking about blorbos, but I swear, and I am 100% stone faced serious when I say this, not a single character has ever done it quite like Geralt from The Witcher books.

little note on the duskull sketches: i very briefly forgot about my grovyle color headcanons when i was coloring, so at first i colored him like his more vibrant grovyle form. before remembering that grass types in the future have sickly, de-saturated colors, and that grovyle's brighter colors came from his time in the past. so i tossed an extra color layer on him here to make him more desaturated and dull
