I'm obviously picking on this particular person but I've seen several people dismiss SydCarmy because "he's a much older, mentor figure! that'd be inappropriate!" And like??? HUUUUH???

Sydney and Carmy are an absolute MAX of 5 years apart in age. And while Ayo looks beautiful, 19 she does not look! Sydney went to culinary school and has worked at several fine dining establishments before launching her own business, common sense says she's at least in her late 20s. And while Carmy has more restaurant experience, he was a literal prodigy who started young.

ALSO, this is kind of an aside but where the fuck is Carmy mentoring Sydney in any real capacity?

S1 - she gets hired, 2 days later she was like "hey I redid your entire business plan because your shit is fucked, a day later he asked her to lead the brigade and then ditched her. He went to cater Cicero's party with Richie and once again Sydney was in charge DURING A POWER OUTAGE. She quit mid-service, comes back, and he's like want to start a restaurant with me?? Not as a fucking mentee, as a partner

S2 - Sydney is making the construction timeline decisions and present and participating in financial/loan conversations with the literal owners of the Beef/Bear. Sydney is part of designing the menu. Sydney is hiring. The only mentor-mentee relationship she's in is with TINA!

Does Sydney look up to Carmy because he's in many ways accomplished her culinary dreams? Absolutely. But people acting like she's some bright eyed student he's teaching to dice onions is fucking crazy.

The day of the funeral was gray—not just the sky, but everything. The air. The mood. The weight pressing down on Marcus’s chest.

Alicia didn’t ask if he wanted her there. She just showed up.

Not in a way that demanded attention. Not in a way that made it about her. She was just there—hovering at the edges of the room, offering quiet support where it was needed.

Most of The Bear crew came. Sydney stood beside Marcus like a pillar, her presence steady. Richie was there too, uncharacteristically subdued, standing back with Tina. Fak showed up in a real suit, fidgeting with the sleeves like he wasn’t sure how to exist in formalwear. Carmy—well, Carmy was Carmy. He lingered near the back, hands in his pockets, jaw tight.

Alicia spent most of the service by the entrance, watching. She didn’t know Marcus’s mom personally. She only knew Marcus—the way he spoke about her, the way his love for her bled into everything he did. The desserts he plated. The warmth in his voice whenever he talked about her.

And now, he stood by her casket, shoulders squared but tense, as people offered their condolences.

Alicia knew that kind of grief. The kind that settled in your bones and never fully left. She had been here before. Different people, different loss—but the same weight.

So when the service ended and the crowd thinned, she didn’t say anything. She just walked over and stood beside him, hands in her pockets, matching his silence.

Marcus exhaled, rubbing a hand over his face. “You didn’t have to come.”

Alicia shrugged. “Yeah, I did.”

He huffed out a soft laugh—tired, but real. “Yeah. You did.”

They stood there for a while, the quiet settling around them.

Then, after a beat, Alicia nudged his arm. “You eat anything today?”

Marcus shook his head.

Alicia nodded once. “C’mon. Let’s go fix that.”

She didn’t offer empty platitudes. She didn’t say it’ll get better or she’s in a better place. She just did what she knew how to do—make sure he ate. Make sure he wasn’t alone.

And for now, that was enough.

They ended up at a quiet diner a few blocks from the church. It wasn’t anything fancy—just an old-school spot with cracked vinyl booths and a menu that hadn’t changed in decades. The kind of place where the coffee was bitter, but the pie was good.

Alicia didn’t ask what Marcus wanted. She just ordered for them both. A couple of plates of food, an extra slice of pie, and coffee—black for her, sugar and cream for him.

Marcus barely touched his food at first. He just stirred his coffee, staring into it like it held answers.

Alicia let the silence stretch.

Eventually, he sighed. “It’s weird.”

She glanced up. “What is?”

Marcus shook his head, rubbing a hand over his chest. “I dunno. Just… knowing she’s not there anymore. Like, I keep thinking about calling her. Telling her about today. But then I remember, and it’s like—” He made a small, sharp gesture, like something breaking in half. “Just hits me all over again.”

Alicia nodded. “Yeah. That part fucking sucks.”

Marcus looked up at her, studying her face. “You’ve been through this, huh?”

She hesitated, tapping her fingers against the table. “Yeah. Different circumstances, but… yeah.”

Marcus took a slow sip of coffee. “What happens next?”

Alicia exhaled, tilting her head. “You wake up tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after that. And for a while, it feels like you’re carrying bricks in your chest.” She tapped her sternum. “Like you can’t take a full breath.”

Marcus nodded, staring at his plate.

“But eventually,” she continued, “you realize the weight doesn’t go away, but you get stronger. You learn how to carry it.”

Marcus was quiet for a moment. Then, softly: “You still carrying it?”

Alicia took a sip of her coffee. “Every day.”

They sat with that for a while.

Marcus finally picked up his fork, taking a slow bite of food. Alicia didn’t comment on it—just kept eating her own, like it wasn’t a big deal.

After a while, he sighed. “Thanks for this.”

Alicia shrugged. “You’d do the same for me.”

Marcus huffed a laugh, shaking his head. “Yeah. I would.”

They didn’t need to say anything else.

Alicia lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling, her fingers clenched in the fabric of her hoodie. The night stretched long and restless, her thoughts looping in circles. Chicago felt different now—like she was caught in between, like she didn’t quite fit the same way she had before.

She had tried to settle back in. To shake off the weight of New York, of what she’d learned, of what she’d felt. But the kitchen at The Bear wasn’t hitting the same. Carmy wasn’t hitting the same. Everything felt too tight and too loose at the same time, like wearing someone else’s jacket.

Her phone sat on the nightstand, face down. She stared at it for a long time before giving in, reaching for it.

Her fingers moved without hesitation.

Alicia: You up?

She didn’t expect a reply right away. But barely a minute passed before her phone buzzed.

David: If you’re texting me at this hour, you either fucked up or you’re about to.

A small huff of laughter escaped her.

Alicia: Jury’s out.

The typing bubbles appeared, then disappeared. Then:

David: Call me.

She hesitated for half a second before pressing the call button.

David answered on the second ring. “I swear to god, if this is about you setting another place on fire—”

“I didn’t set it on fire,” Alicia muttered, rolling onto her side. “Just… a little smoke damage.”

David snorted. “So what is it?”

Alicia stared at the wall. “I think I have to come back.”

A beat of silence. Then, voice more serious now: “To New York?”

“Yeah.”

Another pause. She could hear the faint sounds of him moving, probably shifting in bed. “What’s holding you back?”

Alicia exhaled through her nose. “I don’t know.”

David hummed, like he didn’t believe her. “You do. You just don’t want to say it.”

She closed her eyes. “It’s complicated.”

“It’s not.”

Alicia scoffed. “Thanks, very helpful.”

David was quiet for a moment. Then: “You already left once, yeah?”

“…Yeah.”

“So why are you still standing in the doorway?”

Alicia didn’t answer.

David sighed. “Look, if you’re waiting for someone to give you permission, no one’s gonna do it. Either you move forward, or you don’t. Your call.”

She turned onto her back again, staring up at the ceiling. She knew he was right. She had been waiting—lingering in some undefined space, hoping for something that wasn’t going to happen.

Carmy wasn’t going to chase her. The Bear wasn’t going to make this decision for her.

It was on her.

She took a breath, then let it out slow. “Make space in the kitchen.”

David didn’t react right away, then let out a short, knowing laugh. “Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

“And?”

Alicia smirked, eyes flicking to the side. “And make space at your place.”

David let out a low whistle. “You sure about that?”

“No,” she admitted. “But I’m doing it anyway.”

David chuckled, but there was something in his tone—something almost approving. “Alright, then. You’re gonna owe me for this.”

“I already regret it.”

“No refunds.”

Alicia smiled, just a little. The weight in her chest didn’t disappear, but it shifted.

She had made her choice.

After Baldoni sued New York Times for libel, he filed a $400m lawsuit against Lively and her husband.

On 16 January, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Ryenolds. He's suing them for $400m (£326m) damages on claims of civil extortion, defamation and invasion of privacy. His lawyer Bryan Freedman said the actress and her partners had disseminated "grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media". He also said Lively and her team had "attempted to bulldoze reputations and livelihoods for heinously selfish reasons". In response, Lively's legal team described the lawsuit as "another chapter in the abuser playbook".

Later on, Baldoni started to leak footages to the press(just like Depp did):

On 21 January, Baldoni released three out-takes of a romantic scene from the film as evidence that Lively's claims of sexual harassment are unfounded. The video's caption says the footage shows both actors "clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism". However, Lively's lawyers said the footage showed him "repeatedly leaning in toward Ms Lively and attempting to kiss her". They added that every moment was "improvised by Mr Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance, and no intimacy co-ordinator present". "Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognise Ms Lively's discomfort," they said.

Mia Schachter, an intimacy coordinator who has worked on Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry and FX’s American Crime Story shared her thughts on the leaked footage:

Even though she’s Blake Lively and can say no and isn’t going to be fired for speaking her mind the way that somebody else might fear, she still has to keep working with him and keep the peace and play nice. I can just see her trying to stay lighthearted and in good spirits about it and not upset him or anybody, and not waste anybody’s time. But of course, she is trapped between a rock and a hard place. I can see her appeasing him and trying to keep a smile on her face. In a scene like that, without an intimacy coordinator, I think it was his responsibility to ask Blake, “Hey, what do you think about kissing in this scene?” if that’s what he wanted to see. But he didn’t ask her or even mention that it was something he wanted to shoot — he just went for it. She pulled away, and then he did it again. He definitely should have communicated that that was what he wanted to shoot, but he didn’t. To me, that’s pretty damning, both as an actor and a director.

In addition to all of that, Baldoni plans to launch a website with all the evidence he has against Lively.

Blake Lively’s legal team responds to Baldoni’s court of public opinion nonsense:

“This matter is in active litigation in federal court. Releasing this video to the media, rather than presenting it as evidence in court, is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public. It is also a continuation of their harassment and retaliatory campaign. While they are focused on misleading media narratives, we are focused on the legal process. We are continuing our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his associates to answer in court, under oath, rather than through manufactured media stunts.”

Meanwhile, youtube, tik-tok, twitter(x) and other social platforms are filled with pro Baldoni posts and calling Blake ''a new Amber Heard''.

MIKEY'S STORY ABOUT BILL MURRAY AND CERES CAFE. I HAVE QUESTIONS. SEASON 2 THE BEAR

I should have known it wasn't at all accurate

Every single time some story or event has someone relaying a timeline of events, it's usually way off

I just had never checked out Mikey's story because he told it so well. Seemed like he really believes it happened.

Anyway The FX site said that the story he's telling is set in the year 2000.

Cool. Mikey says the place was open at 6:30 am

In reality Ceres cafe open at 7 am and closes at 8 pm and FYI IT'S FOUR MINUTES AWAY FROM THE BEEF

Denis Savard/Savvy got inducted in November 2000 which is really cool. Why would he be at Ceres Cafe the morning after the induction which was held in CANADA?

No way that happened. Especially at 6:45am when the place is closed.

Then he says John Storrs built the Ceres statue. No he didn't. But they may have put in in the story because

It was all built by another architecture firm

At one point Mikey says that NATALIE is jealous she didn't get invited.

She says she wouldn't have gone if she was.

Mikey says yes she would have

MIKEY, NO SHE WOULD NOT!

You were supposedly roaming the streets on a TUESDAY morning (the day after the SAVARD INDUCTION ON MONDAY 13 NOV) in a dazed state with Richie all at the AGE of 20.

So if Mikey is 20

NATALIE WAS 10 YEARS OLD.

Mind you the very next day 15 Nov 2000 is supposed to be MIKEY'S 21ST BIRTHDAY

What is going on here???????

I know he could have been indulging in stuff before age 21, but he's making it seem like he and Richie were going from bar to bar and getting served ( Richie at age 23 could have, but still)

The inconsistencies in the age and timeline of these stories always gets me.

These are not mistakes and not plot holes.

Hopefully Christopher Storer reveals all. The fact that he brings Bill Murray and the time looping groundhog day into it is really well done so he has to expose it in season 4 or season 5.

If the show really is like groundhog day, then season 4 is when Sydney/ (Rita from groundhog day) starts to pull away from Carmy.

He realizes that and tries really hard to win her back. She eventually falls for him.

Chapter 15: MQ or rather, FX’s reaction to MQ, gives the system whiplash, saying he doesnt see FX as an equal causes the redacted role to BOTH increase and decrease at the same time, creating conflicting info and is eventually cancelled out by the system.

Updates to the factor:

Chapter 14! A side quest with a redacted title shows up! Accompanies XL’s wife plot quest. dont think that all the instances of redacted words are about the same words. its mq’s own wife plot quest?. Also, in chapter 14 the factor is upgraded, implying levels to this factor.

With chapter 15, we unlock P points, confirmed to mean Pretty Points (anqelbean being the first one to guess that correctly) They advance the redacted factor, and narrative role more than b points, so the redacted factor has some sort of beauty aspect to it. The narrative role for Mq’s beauty was, as we know, to spark insecurity in XL, but that’s likely changed 

Chapter 18! The conditions to the factor get edited, after a discussion about nicknames, and MQ says he’s hard to impress.

Chapter 21. We can probably say that its not Romantic Rival, due to how the system talks about it

Chapter 22. The Redacted side quest reappears, when MQ (and xie lian) get captured again! Im pretty convinced that it stands for Be wife Plotted or something to that effect. the redacted factor gets edited when MQ says he doesnt want to wait around to be rescued. 

Chapter 23! Big update. Quoting the system

“Achievement, ‘[REDACTED]’, has been unlocked. Plus 50 B-points! [REDACTED] Trope Convention unlocked! [REDACTED] Factor increased by 30 B-points. Excellent work, Host!! We’ll make a [REDACTED] out of you yet! q(≧▽≦q)””

A redacted achievement, a trope convention, and “we’ll make a X out of you”. (The system singing “I’ll make a man out of you” but its about the redacted factor

So many questions. And confirms that there are multiple redacted words, probably.

You also say that the whole “punching in the gut, and going “good luck, i hope you fail” is the most Redacted thing MQ has done.
