Vlad actually has a garlic allergy but he keeps that to himself. It’s not a deadly allergy and he’d rather risk anaphylactic shock than add any fuel to the “Ghostferatu” fire.

Is it ever mentioned that Lilia has an aversion to garlic, mirrors, or water? Bc ik he’s like a pseudo-vampire
I know of his like of “tomato juice” and aversion to light that is mentioned as well as hanging upside-down like a bat, apparently keeping bats(? It’s shown in his battle sprite), and being a night owl. I’m just curious if there’s more stuff tying him to vampirism.

okay so there’s this man on instagram with the handle sandwichesofhistory, and every day he posts a little video of himself making and eating a sandwich from an old recipe. i like his dorky energy and enthusiasm for things put between bread. but the best part of every video is when he goes “let’s plus this up” and adds some sort of condiment/pickle/spice/extra ingredient to make the sandwich more enjoyable.
it’s just such a legitimately good lesson in cooking and flavour combination, the process of tasting something and figuring out what you think it needs to be better for your tastes, and then adding something that gives it that. and he’ll say like “some tomato for acidity and freshness” or “cumin for warmth” or “pink pickled onions to add some tang”, so you know what he’s searching for when he adds these things.
i think if you’re a tentative cook it’s a great lesson, but i also think if you’re a confident cook it shows how useful a good stock of flavour enhancers can be. spices, condiments and pickles keep for ages if stored correctly, all condiments and pickles can actually be made at home (and many use very few ingredients), and you never know when they’ll be the perfect thing to make even a simple sandwich into a delicious meal!

You don't like thin crust pizza? It can be so yummy though with lots of cheese...
god no i hate it, my favorite part of the pizza is the crust so when the crust is barely nonexistent i just get all the sauce flavor instead (I hate tomato sauce- it's delicious in pizza but only when the bread and cheese balances it out. too acidic and strong). A good pizza is one with a thick fluffy crust that soaks up all the sauce so you get a nice balanced mix of toasted bread, spices from the sauce and pepperoni, and all that cheesy goodness. thin crust pizza throws the balance out of place and thus fucking sucks

Ah yes, the “why haven’t we ever gotten a Dracula adaptation with garlic flowers???” entry.
…seriously though. They’re like, 100x more aesthetic and cool than just garlic bulbs. Cmon.
