So, I'm an anime watcher, not a manga reader, blame it on proctrastination but I wanna talk about dungeon meshi so I will, even if I haven't read the manga, so my thoughts so far

Halflings are fake ass bitches, which is not a bad thing, but they will talk shit about each other behind their backs, but when everyone's in danger they will prioritize their own safety along with other halflings in the party, I know that's what we've seen already but I think it's just a trait they all share, exept if they're under different circumstances like one of them has a kobold companion (which btw I don't know where kobolds being furries came from, as far as I know kobolds look like goblins and such, but sure, I like furries so go ahead)

Laios is gay and it's heavily hinted at, okay maybe not that heavily but I'm 1000% sure it's hinted at, I mean who else would hear "there's a naked guy dancing in that painting" and say it's the perfect painting to jump into, and even if you think that's a coincidence and he was just hungry, not being affected by sirens' song and even knowing how to make it uneffective for your party members is pretty gay imo, and maybe it's not a specifically gay trait, but not being able to pick up on when other people flirt with each other or even you is just something I really love about him and I really want to say it's a queer trait, so manga readers, don't spoil me, but can you back me up on this? Or maybe debunk me, I don't know

It's not that hinted at, but I think that even if she's not in love with Falin, whatsherface is gay at the very least, with Falin being her awakening, but even if she's somehow not, Laios is and they're best friends, I'm not taking any votes

Whatshisface, the one with the chimmunk name, sorry I always forget complicated names, but if he's gonna end up with a woman, he needs a dommy mommy, I'm also not taking any votes on this

Personal headcanon because I think this would make for a great gig is that Senshi and I'm sorry if I misspelled it is still older than the rest (as in, I think whatsherface is above 100 or at least close to it, but I think converted into human [or species that live as long as humans] years she's around her early 20s because she's still pretty immature), but as far as I've learned from other media I'd assume that dwaves live around as long as elves, or at least they measure in hundreds, so I want to say he's still older than the rest, but he's a pretty young dwarf, I'd say he's around his 80s or something, but converted into human [...] years he's around his mid 30s or 40s

I wanna say this, not proud of it but at first I thought whatshis-pony-tail's new party consisted of his wives, but it's not so I was wrong, just saying this as a "fun" fact

I love myself a gossip king, I live for the drama too

Honestly wanna say that if I lived in a world where there were monsters I would've assumed that adventurers eat them on the daily, like that's what I would've done, why should I waste all that flesh and ingredients? Like I think video games already let you eat moster flesh do they not? Minecraft does, it is poisonous but still, I wouldn't be hesitant to eat them just because they're monsters, maybe I would be disgusted sometimes, but if I defeated a giant half chicken half snake monster I would be eating chicken for days (if I had the equipment to keep it edible), maybe even the snake part if I didn't feel so picky

The fact that they can make dungeons and they even study it and one of the characters wants to make one is genius imo

(I just watched ep.19 so this is newer than the rest) Laios is a furry confirmed?

What if, if the dungeon cleaners get trappet for a long enough time in a different system they become part of that system, so they can be used as replacement for lost blood? (And no I didn't think of this while daydreaming about Kabru reuniting with injured Laios what are you talking about?)

So what if Kabru kissing whatsherface was just them showing that he's not hesitant to use tactical flirting?

So what if Laios has night terrors because of seeing the dead?

So what if I write labru fanfiction in my head even though I don't know anything about them?

So is Kabru just a people pleaser or is he manipulative?

Being a tumblr user makes me ship things in before I even know what they are

Yooo what it there was an anti-nightmare, that gives you the best dream of your life that can't and don't want to wake up from while it eats your body slowly?

And what if one anti-nightmare can target multiple people, but that way they will both dream the same thing, so it's risky for the anti-nightmare

But it's also a good observer, so it can tell who would work well with who in a dream

They're usually in packs of 2 or 3, but it's not a rare sight that you'll find just one of them

They're in the same family but look different from nighmares

i miss otaku fm with all my heart and soul and i've been patiently waiting for satoshi kada (leviathan's va) to get back into the studio, and interview everyone all over again. i miss the live drama recordings, the stupidly funny plots, the realistic slip-ups and quirks from each of the cast members. i miss a toast in hell's kitchen and genuinely learning and listening about the talents behind the game, and people's amiable messages and questions towards them in Tell Me!

honestly i'm on my knees begging for a third season where maybe he interviews the vas for thirteen, mephisto and raphael since i haven't seen/heard much from them too in terms of personal messages to fans.

satoshi kada, with his radio, acting and tv experience is such a sweet and soothing personality who brings such warmth to every single project he works on, including obey me. i just wish solmare really really recognized how impactful these podcasts were, no matter long or short, and the abilities of this main cast because goddamit..in such a time where nightbringer is being scrutinized and obey me itself is falling in popularity, absolutely none of the voice actors have forgotten or even brushed aside obey me.

fuck, most (if not ALL) of the vas play the game??? they get the exact same experience as you and i!! and every boys in the house clip i see them happy to be there together, praising and celebrating the game and just having fun man. it's honestly so touching.

i miss the anime episodes: the ideas shared between the vas and the writers, and every episode seven with the va's analysing their performances and characters makes me laugh till my stomach hurts. you *should* consider how entertaining the anime is; it's obviously rather low budget but you can really tell ( even though this wasn't the obey me universe we know and love) it still kept people on their feet and entertained me like some twisted ao3 crackfic istg. you can tell that the anime was made with fans in mind, and that's where the writers for it really flourished. to this day I still see people talking and sharing screenshots from it..

basically.. let's try not focus on the fact that "obey me is getting worse", let's all look to a future and try and be positive about things, yeah? because behind this silly little demon dating sim are talented writers, artists, coders, ambassadors and fans that have kept the game alive for 5+ years.

i wish obm does flourish more in the future, and the devs focus on creating a game(s) and content that inspire, enlighten and make everyone smile.

Exactly!! You have this unique kind of universe where you’re free to explore and create new things and so much room for world-building, which is what I love the most about it I think. So much space to write things differently from our real life, especially where gay pairings are just like any other and I love this! Why then use it to regress back to all the old stuff we’ve always seen anyway? And many people seem to like it? So yeah, I love abo too ♥️ but stay within the nontrad. tag mostly 🥰

tbh i think the range on what traditional a/b/o has become kinda what puts people off from nontraditional (which, to me, is the subversion of common a/b/o tropes and lore, which may include total au restructuring, gaybo, etc.) and/or gaybo (again imo—queer pairings in a/b/o wherein the characters are from the same class, ie alpha/alpha, omega/omega) because so much of it, technically, already includes gay pairings, so if you're not completely aware of what dictates gaybo and/or nontraditional a/b/o separately—or you're just not like, into exploring and you like your tropes ig?—you might not know what you're getting into either, because well isn't it already gay?, so it doesn't always get the chances it deserves!

to me, when i think of super strict traditional-style a/b/o, i think alpha/omega, beta throwaways, strong dom/sub overtones both in and out of the bedroom, and pre-determined character traits that essentially come out to strong masculine presence (alpha) and weak feminine presence (omega), and sprinkle in some pregnancy depending on the story. aka what i was reading like ten years ago when i started reading teen wolf fanfic on ao3, and some random harry potter fics i found elsewhere before that.

and i've hard no'd at those fics more and more over the years because, like we've said, there's both this overarching heteronormative feel to a lot of them despite being based around queer pairings, as well as harmful stereotypes that link back to gender binaryism and equating domination and submission with specific gender roles, having sexual preferences determine personality traits, etc., which....is both not something i want to support even in fiction, and would also not be my cup of tea even if i had the mindset of 'oh well it's very specific to this kind of AU' when it doesn't have to be.

like really, you can write more traditional a/b/o without utilizing some of the more backwards thinking in it, and if you're not sure what that is....you can always ask or compare to other types of similar AUs where those tropes aren't a thing?

so i, we, know there's more traditional-style a/b/o fic out there that just adopts some of the common age-old tropes without completely relying on or including some of the more...regressive gender stereotyping, binaryism, and/or heteronormative tropes, but i'm just so much more inclined to reading gaybo / nontrad. regardless because then i know for sure what i'm getting into, and there'll be a fun, fresh take on an AU style i really enjoy, but that often have some underlying problematics built into it that people can ignore for the sake of reading, actually enjoy, or argue in favor of—

—which, i'm sorry, but why in this hell year of 2021 are you defending harmful gender stereotyping and typecasting based on perceived sexual preferences, body types and mannerisms, and equating topping/bottoming to domination/submission, and then using that to dictate personality quirks to the point a lot of certain a/b/o just feels het-coded and weirdly ooc, if not kind of self-insert-y??

but yes, my rambling aside, more love and attention to nontraditional and gaybo that involves gender exploration, subversion of harmful gender and sexuality stereotypes, diverse takes on what can be easily recycled base lore, and more! explore, diversify!
