You often wondered to yourself why Kyle was still with you, someone unlikable, someone unfitting of the universal standards, someone so clumsy and so self-conscious —someone so fat. You weren’t like him, an adonis walking in the human world, his beautiful brown eyes, so warm and adoring, his smooth skin in the prettiest shade of chocolate that had you salivating and his smile, oh did it make you swoon, eager to drop on your knees for a man like him to give you a second of his attention.

Yet you wouldn’t have to beg for him, to drop to te ground with pleas when he already did it, whispering lovely things to you while he kept his eyes on you, never fleeting towards anyone else as if you were his whole world —you were. He loved you; he adored you, willing to do anything for a smidgen of your time, a small, tender smile of your pretty lips, the softness of your thighs and your warm body, always keeping him safe in the cool, winter times. He made sure to voice his devotion, speaking loudly and proudly how he loved you, unbothered by the venomous and envious stares of picture-perfect women with a model-like complexion. You held a piece of his heart as much as he had yours.

You told yourself that you were just lucky to find yourself someone so accepting, and he would tell you that this was fate, that he was bound to find you and fall head over heels for you despite your imperfections and queerness. He placed you on a pedestal that he was unwilling to let you move from, the shining star in his life, the gem in his eyes. He was chivalrous, a gentleman in today’s standards, treating you so well and confessing his love whenever he could. He took you out and fought to pay for you, reasoning that he was better paid than you and that he had to since he was the one who invited you (despite your exasperated complaints about wanting to repay him without depending on him soo much).

Perhaps that’s why your appreciation bloomed so brightly in your heart in moments like these, his beautiful face screwed in an offended frown, brows pinched and lips curled down. He showed his annoyance through small ticks: gritting his teeth, playing with his hands or jerking his foot beneath the table, but they were so small, inconsequential that most people ignored it for his pretty face.

“Hey, is this seat taken?” The woman - stranger - who’d approached your table looked like a model, a slim hourglass bodice, swaying breasts and round hips. She walked with confidence, her face curled with an air of sensuality and pride, so sure of herself when she had a perfect body.

Despite Kyle’s unamused expression, his eyes dulling, she fluttered her lashes, beating her long, doe extensions, expecting him to tell her what she wanted to hear. She’d probably been given everything she’s ever wanted, using her seductive appearance to garner attention and material with lower men, lonely and tired men, but Kyle Garrick was none of them, he was soft, he was gentle and he was sympathetic, much more human than people would give him credit for, for being a SAS soldier.

“Yes, sorry,” his tone was mellow, hiding well his distaste for her blatant ignorance of you, pushing you aside to make herself the center of his attention. She liked basking in attention. “I’m on a date.”

Her expression tore between shock and offensiveness, hardly containing her scoff when she glanced at you, chubby cheeks, round eyes and softer curves than her sharpness. Her narrowed eyes and little sneer made you flush in embarrassment, the shame boiling in your guts with a destructive self-consciousness about your weight and appearance. You avoided her gaze, preferring to stare at your fumbling hands, fingers knotting together in a mix of anxiety and hate. Kyle caught that.

“Are you-”

“I bloody am,” it was blunt, coldly snapping at her. It shocked the both of you, your demure boyfriend changed for something vicious and guarding. His usually comfortable and easily-approachable character became tall and imposing, someone you wouldn’t want to anger as he completely ignored her in favour of reaching out for you, taking your hands in his soft and warm ones. “Excuse us, but we have places to go.”

Rounding the table, he walked you out, arm wrapped around your pudgy stomach, the rolls plush under his hold, kneading your hip in soothing comfort. He leaned over to place a soft kiss on your forehead, smiling at your avoiding eyes, flushed and oh, so in love with the man you dated.

“Don’t worry, darling. You’re the only one in my eyes.”

He brushed away that pretty girl for you. It made your heart throb hotly, something warm weighing on your chest. It didn’t hurt, rather, it soothed your ache and fears, washing away the dark clouds of doubt and hate that hung over you.

Perhaps you truly were fated to be together.

so there is a gem scene that explains what happened to cassius (again with paywalling basic info! wtf)

no pics, i couldn’t be bothered to take a million screenshots luv x

but really short summary:

1.) cassius stole daphne, she was super into him, obviously that bummed out rafael

2.) the other guys worked together to distract cassius. some goofy shit like making him & joyo compete in a spelling bee. meanwhile rafa turned daph’s head back to him (if you’re wondering how tf cassius fell for that, rafael said that they took advantage of his naivety. a bit shady on their end! 👀)

3.) cassius called the OG guys out for being snakes in the grass, he got dumped, and geri & willow are mad at joyo & bryson respectively for being shady. that’s why those two are not doing so well in their villa couples (good news for ppl on joyo and bryson routes tho !)

if FB isn’t pulling a zeph, i feel like cassius could return as a casa boy. maybe daphne would twist with him so rafa romancers can get their man…or he could be our LI too. that’s just wishful thinking though. either way, they said he’s an adonis, i haveee to see what he actually looks like

Oh my gosh this is beautiful!!! The gem literally looks like liquid sunshine.

So, I picture this being a gift from Arthur. He finds this ring, brand new, in a store and gifts it to his daughter with matching coppery hair and a smile that could light up the city.

The only problem…it’s too big. She’s 7 at the time. But that’s okay! She treasures it, wearing it on a chain in the meantime. One day, she’ll be able to wear it.

Then Arthur passes, and the ring goes in a jewelry box for protection.

Flash forward, the ring is still too big. Adonis finds it in her jewelry box while helping her pink pieces for a party.

“What about this? Darling, this is gorgeous! I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you wear this one before.”

“Oh…I love it. It’s just too big. My father gave it to me. I’d love to get it resized. I just keep it in the box because, well, I’m clumsy. What if it drop it? What if they lose it?”

So, one day, Adonis takes the ring to a jeweler. It’s resized to match one of her other rings, and Adonis stays there the entire time. It takes two hours, but stays to make sure it’s handled properly. They also give it a good cleaning - which it needed. It’s been a few decades, after all.

The next date night, they’re picking out pieces for another outing. Smoothly, while she’s distracted, he slips this onto her finger. It’s so smooth she doesn’t notice, but then upon looking down, she gasps.

“H-How…?”

“I had a jeweler resize it to match your other rings. I watched him the whole time, don’t worry.”

“…”

“A-Are you okay? Oh, I’m sorry, I thought you’d said you’d like to resize it, so I…”

Commence a tight hug and many, many kisses.

“Thank you,” she whispers. “It’s beautiful. It even sparkles more! Did you have it cleaned?”

“I-I hope that was okay.”

“It’s wonderful! Oh, this is the nicest thing another man has ever done for me. I…I don’t know how to…I…thank you. So much.”

In that moment, Adonis sees that bright smile, and absolutely sees why Arthur chose that ring. It really does suit her. 🧡☀️

I, Chiaki Morisawa of the Burning Heart, will definitely take everyone down in one fell swoop! Eichi: ……. (Wasn’t the point of today’s “Sports Survivors” activity to play Cops and Robbers, not a game of make-believe heroes?) (As expected of Chiaki. No matter the situation, he can quickly adjust it to a way that best suits him.) (However, he followed the rules properly and counted to one hundred before he started to take action…) (Thanks to my body being slowed down by the cold weather, I can only do this much. Truly, I may have the will, but I do not have the strength to back it up.) Hey, but Subaru-kun, why are you hiding here with me? With your level of physical fitness, surely you don’t need to rely on a tactic like hiding to win, right?

Subaru: Hm~ Actually, I originally planned on running as far away as I could. After all, if you’re caught by Chi-chan-senpai, who is playing the role of the cop, he will definitely grab onto you tightly to the point that you can’t move. It’s a bit unbearable…

Subaru-kun, could it be that you took my physical condition into account and you made a big fuss on purpose so Chiaki would find us quickly?

Subaru: Hm? I didn’t put that much thought into it? I just saw something shiny so I made a grab for it out of instinct ☆

Eichi: I see. I suppose the next time we play hide-and-seek, I should prepare some kind of bait to lure in Subaru-kun ♪

Subaru: Hehe, these are no ordinary buttons! The sparkly, transparent material has been polished into several facets, so when you put it up to the sunlight, it will refract the light into colorful rays!

Chiaki: Ooh, that’s true! It looks like a sparkling gem!

Eichi: But Subaru-kun, you picked up several of these buttons along the road, right? If it were just one or two, it would mean that they’ve accidentally fallen off someone’s clothes because they were loose. 

Subaru: Hmm… Eichi-senpai, are you trying to say that it's possible that someone might have dropped their sewing materials here? For example, the producer or Kiryu-senpai?

Okay, I got it… I’ll take a photo and upload it to HoldHands later to see if anyone wants to claim them. 

Chiaki: Mm hm! You’re doing the right thing, Akehoshi! Let me praise you!

Eichi: —Uwah!? Chiaki, your eyesight shouldn't be so bad that you’d mistake me for Subaru-kun?

However, I didn’t get to exercise much today; I've barely built up a sweat. This defeats the original purpose of getting a workout. 

Speaking of which, the last time I played tag with “fine”, Yuzuru mentioned a version that involved a  “helper ghost”, and I’ve always wanted to try it. 

How about this time, you let Subaru-kun and I return to the battlefield to help you catch the “thieves” together? Of course, I will try my best without tiring myself out too much.

Chiaki: Very good, very good, this way the forces of justice have grown stronger! Let us find Tenma-kun and Otogari-kun together and have a magnificent final battle!

<Some time later, at dusk>

Chiaki: Haa… Haa… Even though I managed to get a trail on those two, no matter how much I chased, I couldn’t catch them. Truly, they are worthy of being called members of the track and field club. 

Akehoshi! Tenshouin! How are you two?

Subaru: Haa, haa… I barely caught up to Chi-chan-senpai, but Eichi-senpai probably stopped to rest halfway.

Chiaki: Even if I keep running like this, I’ll reach my limit sooner or later. A hero should have the courage to acknowledge his own shortcomings and turn that into motivation to stand again! 

So— The capture operation ends here! I admit defeat! Although it’s a bit regrettable, I still had a lot of fun…☆

SPONTANEOUS ASK favorite crackship and why???

genuinely have been thinking about this so hard since i received it. like i've never really thought to RANK crackships before - and tbh, half my actual ride-or-die otp-tier ships are arguably crackships by SOMEONE'S standards

...ok now that i'm typing this out, i've realized the obvious answer here. it's adonis x adrienne. they're just so fucking funny. step-father adonis to nerissa and poseidon? hilarious. adrienne calling avery homophobic slurs for having a crush on her and then turning around 20 years later and getting with her brother? absolutely unhinged behaviour. adonis continuing to defend his abusive wife while entering into a mid-life situationship with his little sister's childhood best friend? so insane it loops into being in-character. adrienne cannot stand in the same room as him for 2 seconds without wanting to punch him in the face. adonis has no spine whatsoever but he's also going to try to dictate her political beliefs. like theres just so much potential in those two.

that being said, i know this ask is actually about pokemon ships deep down. so sorry for derailing with my ocs. let me come up with a pokemon crackship for posterity.

GENERALLY speaking, pokemon crossover concepts are fucking incredble. e.g. silver and ash is a dynamic i've seen a few times that always just makes me sjkdfghjkdfjghk also, a lot of things that really SHOULD be considered crackships are actually just. weirdly popular ships in this fandom (rivalcrush immediately springs to mind. like who conceived of this and why. how did it become so widely loved. i have so many questions that i frankly do not want answered). then you have your pokemon ships too right. krazy is another ship i feel just. slapped me in the face when i discovered how genuinely popular it is. the huge library of ash x pikachu fics that were. hilariously. so much more popular pre-dp when a lot of people still headcanoned ash's pikachu as female. like no one is doing normalized crack like the pokemon fandom.

anyway. having said all that. while pokemon live obviously gave us the gem that is diamondshipping, it also gave us something else. the absolutely unparalleled giovanni professor oak dynamic. so after a lot of thought - that's my answer. but like, EXCLUSIVELY in the context of pokemon live. or the delia inclusive polycule. thank you for coming to my ted talk

Lapis Lazuli: Believed by the Romans to be an aphrodisiac, and as a symbol of Love, Peace, and Joy. Was ground to a powder and used as a compress to neutralize negative emotions and draw out spiritual impurities.

The Egyptians used Lapis as a sign of status, and pharaohs and judges wore emblems of Maat, god of truth, made of Lapis. This implies that Lapis has associations with truth and power. Lapis was also used alongside gold as an exorcism poultice. Lapis was also believed to provide safe passage for the dead, so it can be implied that Lapis has protective properties, especially on a spiritual level.

The Sumerians used Lapis as a way to inscribe documents, so Lapis can also be associated with knowledge.

Emerald:

The Egyptians believed the green color of Emerald represented regrowth of the earth during springtime, therefore, Emeralds were associated with regrowth and fertility.

Legend has it that the Roman Emperor Nero watched gladiator fights through a large transparent Emerald as he found its green color soothing and calming, therefore, emeralds can be associated with calm and banishment of negative emotions.

Aristotle wrote about his belief that carrying an Emerald aided the owner’s ability to speak with confidence and ease during business deals. He also thought that Emerald brought good luck, therefore emeralds have associations with luck and confidence. 

Labradorite:

In Norse mythology, Labradorite is associated with the bifrost bridge, the connection between the earthly world and the divine. Therefore, Labradorite can be associated with communication with the divine, as well as protection during travel.

Amethyst: In a Renaissance addition to Greek mythology, Amethyste was a maiden who was turned into a quartz crystal by Artemis, in order to save her from a worse fate at the hands of Dionysus. Dionysus, respecting Amethyste’s wishes, dumped wine on the stone as an offer of respect, turning it purple. Based on this story, Amethyst can be associated with protection.

The name Amethyst comes from Amethystos, which literally means not intoxicated.The idea that Amethyst can ward off drunkenness can be translated to the idea that the stone represents calm and mental clarity

Aquamarine:

In Greek mythology, it is said that it washed ashore after spilling from the treasure chests of sirens. Due to this, aquamarine can be associated with persuasion and deception.

In Roman mythology, Aquamarine was sacred to Neptune, and was associated with safety on sea, protecting sailors from monsters and sea sickness.

Opal: The Ancient Greeks believed that Opals gave them prophecy, associating the gem with intuition.

Europeans consider the gem a symbol of hope, purity and truth.

Rose Quartz:

In Greek mythology, Rose Quartz originates from the tragedy of Aphrodite and Adonis. Adonis was murdered by a wild boar, It is said that Aphrodite's blood mixed with Adonis's blood and fell onto nearby Quartz, staining it a dusky pink, signifying the symbolic hues of Rose Quartz. Due to this, Rose Quartz can be associated with love, passion, and grief.

Rose Quartz was also believed to have physical beautification properties. Rose Quartz face masks have been discovered in Egyptian tombs. Ancient Egyptians and Romans believed that it cleared their skin and had rejuvenating properties. Therefore, Rose Quartz can be associated with beauty

Ruby:

The famous gem explorer George Frederick Kunz wrote in his book The Curious Lore of Precious Stones that “Rubies were believed to exercise a calming influence and to remove anger and discord”, due to this, Rubies have associations with positivityRubies fluoresce under black light, and some even seem to fluoresce under sunlight. This bold glow can associate Rubies with confidence, status, and power.

I will update this as I discover more. For the stones that do not have open mythos linked to them, ideas such as color magic and the origin of the stone can be used to create occult associations.

Amaranthine, Marinette

And we get the biggest design out of the way. The others will come later, but Marinette's is the only one that matters rn.

Now, break down. I know I've stated I hate designing armor, however I took this design from an old gemsona from back in my SU days, a Dragon Fire Opal. The base armor is the same, but the coloring, mask, and decals are different.

I went with black as a base to ground the brighter colors as I toyed with them. Originally she was going to be platinum and silver, but decided to go with gold because gold is a power source for magical creatures while iron (the gray) hinders magic. Even though it would have been platinum which is better than gold, I had some difficulty pairing the platinum with other colors, especially the gem pieces.

I'm not the type of witch that works with crystals, so research was in order. I was looking for a love crystal for attracting soulmates as that's Marinette's goal. The most obvious choice was Rose Quartz, but it seemed to have the addon of recovering from a prior heartbreak. I kept looking and found Morganite. A crystal like rose quartz, but primarily opening the heart chakra and attracting one's soulmate.

The vine decals come from Marinette's profession in Amaranthine. After meeting Longg, she discovers in her previous life, she was a green witch that worked with herbs and medicines. In her crusade to find her soulmate again, she mixes design, botany, and alchemy (courtesy of Longg) to manage a herb and flower shop. A place to sell natural, enhanced remedies, make flower arrangements, and sell medicinal herbs. I suppose this could make this a flower shop au too, but I'm primarily sticking to the soulmates bit.

Now, the name is where I'm faltering. Given the set up for Marinette to have been Rose's childhood friend and just as into fairytales, knights, and the whole lot, it raised interesting ideas. Her shop will be called Avalon after the legendary island in Arthurian legend where Arthur was brought to in order to recover from his mortal wounds so he may return to be the one true king (varies upon each telling). So, I had a pair of ideas. The first was Nimue, one of the names of the lady of the lake who gives Arthur Excalibur/Caliburn (depends on version). The other name was Pendragon because dragon miraculous, golden royal armor, and the dragon's weapon being a sword. That is if I don't go with Amaranthine.

So, for some fun, Amaranthine is something of multiple meanings. For the unenlightened, the word amaranthine means everlasting, unfading, eternal, and immortal. It also relates to the amaranth flower that is associated with the same meaning, making it symbolic of unfading affection and everlasting love. So, it's a thought rn.

For other designs, they'll come eventually. I know I will need to make designs for Adonis and the snake villain first and foremost. However, y'all will be waiting a hot minute for Ladybug!Chloe and Black Cat!Zoe
