While finishing up Requiem of a Redemption, I wanted to share some of the music I listen to while writing and what songs I think definitely reflects back on Shinjurou and the entire story. So here is the first part of my list of songs!

First up!

Za Za by Biv

This one has had the biggest impact on my writing and story. It is the song that I have connected with Shinjurou. Especially these lyrics right here:

The War II by heylog

Fantastic song from heylog! They are one of my favorite musicians and I can not stop but praise their music! Everything is so amazing and it was hard to pick just one song from their entire career but the War II is definitely the most influential one on Requiem of a Redemption. Here are my favorite lyrics:

Again, this song reminds of Shinjurou dealing with the fact that Ruka was actively dying and he could not do anything about it. He's already lost so much and with this, it really is the breaking point. My favorite part of the song:

Ethel Cain just has an absolutely beautiful voice and you can feel the heartbreak in her vocals throughout the song.

Just...dear God, these lyrics are something else. Again, this song pulls at Shinjurou's PTSD and depression eventually descent in alcoholism. The most impactful lyrics from the song:

Sleepseason is one of my all-time favorite songs and not just because of the impact it had on Requiem of a Redemption. Just understanding the feeling of wanting to be better, again and again, and struggling to do it (which again relates to Shinjurou). My favorite lyrics from the song:

Absolutely beautiful. This song always gets to me and I can not say it enough: this song is so influential. It doesn't matter how it relates to the story by the overall tone and musical composition in the song is something else. My favorite lyrics from the song:

SO! There's this one WIP: at the beginning of this year I got into trying to draw every single character from StS and ended up finishing a reference with the Bronze Saints + Gold Saints from the Classical series, although I had already sketched this one snippet with the GS from Next Dimension + Odysseus

Izo was the only one inked bc I was testing a brush for the lineart... which sadly I didn't like 〒▽〒

Even if some of these portraits are too old (I've changed the way I draw some of them) I still want to have this piece complete... maybe in 2025...?

Snowdrop

As with the rest of my toddlers, many details are intentionally left ambiguous to allow readers to incorporate their own headcanons, such as names, birthdays, etc. Below would be how I envision Snowdrop.

Name: Cain (candy Cain lmao) Nicknames: Snowdrop (by readers), Doctor (by Zayne) Birthday: June 8 Gender: Male Sign: Gemini Evol: ???

Appearance: Zayne's copy. Identical in everything except his hair color, which he takes after his mom.

Personality: As a toddler, he is playful and inquisitive. He looks up to his father and imitates Zayne a lot, including playing doctor with his father and plushies (he does charge a fee 💀✋ He expects payments in terms of macarons, other sweet treats, and/or juice boxes. Your insurance will not be covered under his practice 😔). He can also be very silly and likes barraging his father with wild hypothetical questions about anything and everything. He also tends to be a little more bashful from time to time, but overall he has a bright personality. He is very much adored by staff and patients at Akso Hospital.

As he gets older, his personality shifts a little. He is still very much intelligent like his dad, and also leans more toward being introverted, but he does also have his mom's social skills, so he fares better than Zayne does lol He does prefer solitude more than large crowd. In spite of that, he's unexpectedly very popular with everyone, including the school bullies who idolizes him (they accidentally reform themselves to get in Snowdrop's good grace lol).

He's basically inherited 95% of Zayne's genes in terms of looks, behavior, and mannerism. The 5% he's inherited from his mom would be her hair color and menace gene. This boy is such a gremlin as he grows older.

Likes: He's inherited Zayne's sweet tooth 😭✋ He loves macarons the most, but he also enjoys other sweet treats. To Zayne's bafflement, Snowdrop also has an insatiable love for...carrots, something he's adored since he was still in the womb lol

— Plays doctor a lot. Is Zayne's own personal doctor.

— Doesn't like naptime and will try to weasel his way out of it. (He fails every time.)

— Has been using his father as a personal portable A/C since he was one month old. Zayne has resigned to his fate.

— Adores carrots a lot. He'll eat them raw, he'll eat them cooked any way, he'll drink carrot juice, and he, of course, loves carrot cakes. Zayne feels like the universe is messing with him. BTW carrot macarons exist.

Early Childhood.

— Likes Valentine's Day because all of the girls give him chocolate. Does not like White Day because wdym he has to gift the girls now???

— Has adopted his mom's love for videogames. Likes going to the arcade a lot.

— Learns self-defense techniques from his mom, which she has explicitly told him is only to be used for self-defense.

— He has a tendency to use loopholes to his advantage. He also knows how to use his cute looks to his advantage as well (tbqh, he's been doing this since he was a toddler).

— After protecting his friends from bullies, he accidentally becomes the bullies' "leader" (he's repeatedly objects. No one is listening to him.). He has also inadvertently becomes king of the playground. Poor boy just wants to read comic books and eat macarons.

— Has taken to selling bandages on the playground to his classmates. $5 per bandage initially, but after someone's mom snitched on him, he hiked the price up to $10 per bandage and "snitches get stitches". He doesn't believe in free healthcare for all because a good macaron is hella expensive.

— He saves the allowances his parents give him and doesn't use them. He likes spending the money he hustles makes instead. He keeps his earned money in a secret tin box. It has over $500 in cash.

— Very much an opportunist. If he can profit, he will do it. 🙂
