There's some dude (derogatory) on FB who is PISSED people are pricing their farm fresh eggs at $2 and $3 a dozen instead of $4+, saying it's "disrespectful" and "undignified" and "I'm trying to feed my kids" like Sir, you are on a Facebook group page bitching about your neighbors egg prices because your pet chickens aren't earning you a living wage and you think it's your neighbors' fault, you do not have a leg to stand on here wrt dignity.

Also half the answers are like "I give them to friends and family free" or "I donate them to food banks" or "I'm making them affordable to folks who might not otherwise be able to get them now that they're so expensive in the store" and "if you think you're going to turn a profit keeping backyard chickens you have been wildly misled" and so on, and so forth, and I'm so living for it.

and I can tell you right now, he did NOT like my answer of "if you're trying to feed your kids, I hear eggs are edible."

listen i don't think edward little was actually a bad first lieutenant. when we see him in the first episode he's calm and confident. he does not say much but he's amiable enough. crozier likes him, and i don't think crozier would like anyone he doesn't think capable in some way. generally he's dependable and knows what he's doing. however unfortunately for edward he has these qualities because he has a major case of eldest daughter syndrome, which means he both wants to please his mum (crozier) and has an overdeveloped sense of responsibility for his younger siblings (crew), so when they get stuck in the ice and crozier starts going (more) alcoholic, he enables his mum bc he doesn't want to disappoint her even if he doesn't agree with her, and he has to pick up the tasks and care for his siblings she's not doing, but he can't let his siblings know about their mum's situation because they'll get worried and restless. and like a true eldest daughter he has to bear the brunt of mummy's anger for being a disappointment but he also doesn't want to seek refuge with the man she divorced (fitzjames) because that feels like a betrayal. also while this is going on there is a giant bear who hunts his siblings for sport so they're dying left and right and also a changeling master manipulator who's making his siblings mad at their mum and who wants to fuck said mum before eating her like some sort of praying mantis. anyway i think i would start being miserable and anxious too.

I've got a half-formed idea I can't quite squish into shape where Corroded Coffin finally has an opportunity to play where someone with useful influence - a talent scout, a music journalist - will hear them. Maybe it's a Battle of the Bands or something like that. They're keen as mustard but very, very nervous. Steve has come along to help them move their equipment and set up on stage and Eddie takes him to one side.

"Stevie," he says, pressing his hands together prayer-like, "I'm going to ask you to do something a little bit unethical."

"What, like sabotage the other bands' equipment?"

"God no. I said a little bit. You see that chick with the red hair in the white leather jacket talking to the organiser? Her opinion matters. Like, a lot. So what I want you to do is, when we're playing, you get close to her and turn on the charm."

"Am I trying to distract her?" Steve asks, looking puzzled.

"No! No, you're just going to be this big cute guy who gives her some flattering attention. That way, she remembers while Coffin was playing, she was having a good time. It's subtle, see? Psychological. You get it, right?"

"Obviously I get it," Steve says, "but what if she really wants to hear you and I'm just annoying?"

"Why would she think you're annoying?" Eddie asks, honestly baffled. "What girl would not be excited to have you paying attention to her?"

"A lesbian," Steve says immediately.

"Okay, but -"

"A happily taken one."

"Sure, but -"

"A professional who wants to concentrate on the performance and form an unbiased opinion."

"You're killing me, Stevie."

"Not to mention, you're asking me to focus on someone else when you're playing? Be realistic. I have my work cut out not to throw my underwear on the stage," Steve says, smiling.

(Here my idea kind of fizzles out. I don't know whether Eddie's encouraged by this or just exasperated that his boyfriend is no good as a henchman.)

I saw a post about how fandom needs to understand that, while we might have different perspectives on our canons, those different perspectives are valid and we benefit from a multiplicity of perspectives and so forth.

The more I think about it, the more I’m like ... hmm, no, actually.

I mean, yes, fandom benefits from a multiplicity of perspectives. Fandom perspectives don’t need to cohere 100% with each other’s to be valid and valuable and there’s a lot to gain from the overall conversation etc.

But the idea that all perspectives in fandom are valid? No. It’s a hard pill for modern fandom to swallow, but “all opinions are valid uwu” and frothing hostility are not the only possible responses to every conceivable fannish perspective. Some opinions aren’t valid. Some takes are bad and some interpretations are based on mistakes and misreading. Sometimes being at all committed to your own convictions necessitates believing that some people are wrong.

Basically, there’s a vast chasm between “not everyone with a different perspective is wrong in a fandom context” and “nobody can ever be wrong in a fandom context.”

Since ofmd is officially over, where does all the money donated go? This is not just a question for the fandom bit in general when ur raising money for a renewal but it fails.

so i mean, in general when a renewal campaign "fails" we dont usually get the showrunner saying outright "yeah the show isnt getting picked up, im sorry guys." like im pretty sure that most of the time, money that's raised for a campaign like this just gets collected and spent without there ever being an official announcement from the showrunners that fans should stop campaigning.

as far as the money that was raised for the first billboard back in january, all the money that was collected is long gone now bc it was spent on the billboard, the truck, the plane flyover, and the charity donations. and like, everyone who donated to that campaign knew that's where the money was going, and they knew there was a chance that the renewal campaign wouldn't work. so even tho the money they raised is gone, the ppl who donated technically got what they paid for.

when it comes to the second billboard, i have no idea what the plan is there. as far as im aware that fundraising effort is (was??) still ongoing, so djenks saying it's over kinda throws a wrench in that process. im not actually associated w the ppl collecting money for the second billboard, nor have i personally contributed to that campaign (or to the first campaign either, ftr), so i have no input or insight as to what's gonna happen w that money going forward. if u want more concrete info abt what's going on with that money you'd wanna ask @saveofmdcrewmates

from what i can tell tho, there are a few options as to what they could do with the money: they could ignore david's message and run the billboard as planned, they could forget the billboard and donate the money to charity, or they could run the billboard but change the messaging to something else. they might even be able to give some of the money back to the people who contributed?? that might be hard tho, idk what platform they were using to collect the money and i have no idea if they're even able to like, refund people. idk if the people who donated would even want their money back, or if they would rather the money still be used for the billboard, or be repurposed for something else. like i said, i didnt donate and i have nothing to do with the ppl raising the money so it rlly doesn't matter to me at all what happens.

Everybody, meet Baby Kaznove or, as he will henceforth be known, Baby Ro! He's very small and orange, and I love him to pieces. I was more than a little unnerved to discover that Impid babies are born with horns (their poor mothers!!), but both Fafo and Ro are doing well.

Doing not-so-well are these random beggar children who showed up to ask for thirty-nine units of medicine, which made a substantial dent in my medicine supply, but I'm willing to use herbal medicine for a little while. It's for the Greater Good and all that.

The two newest colonists (besides Baby Ro) are settling in very well and are taking up roles as teachers and mentors, apparently. I still don't like Boomer, and I am about 95% certain that Eva is a mime. She eats 5-7 meals a day!! I'm considering nicknaming her 'Tarrare' until she inevitably reveals herself as a terrible shapeshifting monstrosity and starts trying to eat my colonists.

I'm still a little upset that they made pikmin 4 more a a family game type ( not out of the goodness of their heart nintendo just wants more money ) not to day it isn't challenging or difficult sometimes but it being a more pikmin 2 style of game I feel like they could've got a lot more crazy of they weren't so limited
