Genloss Theory #2
More Theories
Well, back again back again! Here for another theory. This one is a bit more solid and may be accepted as canon for all I know but I’ve seen some debate. Keep in mind, this is my personal theory, it may be completely wrong.
So, we all remember the scene in Episode 3 when Hetch has “died” and Ranboo stabs an employee only for wires to come out instead of blood. The generally accepted understanding is that the employees bleed wires. Which does make sense but I’m here to offer a possible counter explanation. He’s just not seeing the blood.
Earlier in the episode, Ranboo and Charlie find an employee who was killed by Security:
Tumblr media
Clearly he’s bleeding real blood and not wires. There is the argument to be made that he simply hasn’t been under Showfall’s control long enough to be filled with wires but I have another idea: this is what really happened and when we saw the employee bleed wires, that wasn’t real.
We already know, based on Ranboo’s stream, that the video turning more cinematic is meant to show that Showfall is still in control and Ranboo just no longer sees the cameras. So, what if the employee who bled wires was actually bleeding real blood but Ranboo was back under control enough to only see wires? It would explain the discrepancy between this employee and the other.
Just like how, in Episode 2, Charlie “bled” slime because everyone’s perception was controlled by Showfall, the employee in Episode 3 bleeds wires because Showfall is exerting their control again.
That’s my theory anyways, could be wrong. If anyone has anything to add, feel free to comment or reblog!

Okay so we know that ranboo’s pov is heavily fantasized because of the mask which makes him an unreliable narrator because everything that happens is distorted into a less gory and more tv friendly version of itself. But now that ranboo’s mask has been turned off… does that mean for the final episode he will be a reliable narrator? Or will they still be able to be controlled up until ranboo is able to get the mask off of them?

I'm going to rant about random genloss theories and shit ok
Let's start with ranboo. His first memory is the cabin right? But that's back when hetch was dying. In a bts thing he said that their memories came back when the mask was flashing. The mask didn't start flashing in ep 3 until they were in the box. It lit up the second hetch appeared in the doorframe to drag them into the box room. I think they gave him his memories back so they'd remember their entire past and beg for us to kill them. I think they would have rathered us kill them because that'd be easier on them. And by them I mean showfall media. And hear me out. We didn't have a choice in it at all. We've already seen that they can bring people back to life. Charlie came back multiple times and said himself that "I can die as many times as I want" (or smth along those lines) in ep 1. It just keeps repeating over and over and showfall can bring them back as many times as they want. Remember the showfall media employee that ranboo killed? That's their job in the show. Every time this happens, every time the hero goes through to save the day, that one in particular gets killed. Why do I say that? That one bleeds wires okay. While we're at it there's another smaller theory I have about security. Security has been rebuilt so many times and has progressively become worse and worse and worse because yk that's what generation loss means, the loss in detail or quality over time. Like if you took a picture of something on a phone, took a picture of that picture, took a picture of that picture, and so on. The quality will drop. That's generation loss. (In case you reading this didn't already know that lol) Anyway security has been rebuilt so many times that it has become a wire monster without much structure. Plus, Ranboo said during the genloss panel at vidcon that there was pieces of flesh in security. That implies that they were once human, but have been rebuilt progressively worse over such a long period of time that the humanity left in them has become nothing but little bits. That showfall media employee has much of it's humanity left, but it bled wires, meaning it has been rebuilt at least a few times before. Another thing is that we don't see anybody but Ranboo and Hetch bleed. Ethan's blood was shown sure, but he wasn't in the frame so how can we really know it's his. Anything could be props for the show. (If we saw anybody else bleed please remind me in the comments btw) I feel like this might be Ranboo's first show. As for Hetch, I'd love to believe he's a good guy, and I kind of do. I just think he's just like the Puzzler probably was. Likely from whatever reality Ranboo was from, just taken and forced to be part of the show. The reason the Puzzler wasn't revived was because he wasn't necessary for the rest of the show. Anybody who wasn't revived was likely revived after the fact with their memories wiped. Speaking of wiped memories, I never got back to that thing I was saying about Ranboo and their memories. I believe that they gave him his memories so that he'd beg for death so they wouldn't have to drag him away and kill him later. The choice was nothing but an illusion. Ranboo was destined to make it to the end, inevitably die and have his memories wiped in the process, and then start all over again. I feel like this was Ranboo's first show. They seem the most aware, the most awake, the most human. Everyone else feels a little robotic. As if they're reading from a script. I feel like this may be Sneeg's second or third show, I think Charlie's been in it for a while, and I think the Puzzler and the one's trapped by him in ep 2 have been there the longest. And remember, as cute as Squiggles may be, he's not on our side. The little man was FUMING when Ranboo broke out of the electric chair. He is nothing but a little bit of comedic relief put there by showfall to keep us company. I also feel like we may be just as imprisoned by showfall as the others. We aren't the ones showfall is entertaining. We're forced to stand behind a one way mirror and watch as our heroes fail again and again and again.
To make us feel worse about it, we're given the illusion of choice. 10,000 chance that we chose the right key and we did? Yeah right Jerma. All those times we had to choose where they went next? He still would have ended up doing the same things no matter what in different orders. Tipping over Charlie's grandma's ashes? What would that have done to change the overall storyline, really. Change a few dialogues? Wow how interesting. Our choice does not matter. Ranboo and the others are stuck in this infinite loop of illusions, fake choices, death, and most importantly of all, entertainment. Hetch said his job is to find people "from your world" to be the puppets of showfall's show. I feel as though the hero of this show wasn't always Ranboo. It could have once been Sneeg, or Charlie, or maybe even WAYYY back it could have been security. As time progresses, people's roles change. Except Hetch. His one role is to find people for the show. I think Hetch may have been one of the first that showfall found for their show. He finds people, tests them, and puts them to work for the viewer's entertainment. Kind of. I mean he's not really the one putting them to work, that's the founder. Kill the founder yk? Remember that? That's the only way to stop the loop. He's the one dragging this on and on and on. The "kill button"? Yeah that didn't do anything, really. He was supposed to make it to the button. Everything happened just as planned, just as it was scripted. I think that the only way for them to break out is for us to get out of where we are trapped and go stop them. Break them free of showfall's control. We're the variety. We make decisions that don't affect the overall outcome of the show and that simply change trivial parts of the entertainment. Forced to sit and decide on things that won't change the outcome. Unless we stop making the decisions they give to us and instead breaking free from the pointless clicking and deciding, nothing will change. The choices they provide us won't change the outcome. To change the outcome, we'd have to make our own choices. For the sake of our heroes and all the heroes that will come to be, break free the actors and kill the founder.

i can't sleep because of what just happened but anyway (btw idk if someone has already talked about this)
do yall remember one of the first teaser that we got right at the start of generation loss, like a couple of months ago? ranboo was saying something like "yeah i just found some tapes, i have to find out how they work" or something like that
based on the ending of the masterpiece we've seen tonight (the part with the tapes) it's probable that ranboo (from the audio) has just seen this shit with us so does it mean that he escaped and forgot all that has happened and has just found these tapes or is it the 'original' ranboo that has found out about the social experiment??
what do you guys think? i'm no great theoriest, i am just sleep deprived and i was having flashbacks of the fist genloss teasers

Im clearly in the bargaining stage of grief but hear me out -
We, the audience are connecting to the perception filter.
That’s what those red sequences were, right?
Tumblr media
Ranboo’s mask is his perception filter, right?
And slime is blood when the filter turns off.
So when we saw Ranboo’s blood…we were still connected.
Yeah, there were glitches in the filter that we could easily see before and those didn’t happen at the end, but Showfall is sadistic.
Tumblr media
Despair is a good way of dampening autonomy, right?
We were still watching through a viewpoint chosen for us, trained to make a choice chosen for us during The Inauguration.
Tumblr media
Was the blood even real?
Are we next?

// genloss spoilers, theories, derealization?
all of the correct answers for genloss were the ones on the right/the last answer except for the last one..
dogs(right)>wisdom(right)>death(right)>them(right)>yes(left)
on the fail screen for the last question, a secret message appears above the screen “you were never alone”. the “yes” option must have been on the left because it *wasnt true*. in the future, this could apply to further questions, like if the mysterious person behind the tapes was lying, or was incorrect, the “correct answer” would be on the left. this could be useful later on to tell whether or not the VHS text is lying, and then be able to tell why, how, or what theyre lying about.
this could be especially useful for finding nuances in things that may otherwise be surface-level and unimportant. remember one of the fail texts? “nothing is as it seems”. something is trying to help us see past the text of the tapes, perhaps even a person *in the screen.*
plum, how do we know thats a possibility?” WELL, DEAR READER. ranboo has a genloss playlist, and the common themes and motifs from this playlist can tell us a lot about how the story may be structured/where the plot can go. (thanks @/Daydark4k for the analysis image)
for example, cabinet man by lemon demon features a sentient arcade machine who dies when the machine is eventually destroyed. with the themes of scientific experimentation, this could mean that there was an experiment that trapped some sort of consciousness into the tapes.
loss of self would obviously be about going crazy trying to decypher a mystery and quite literally losing your physical body to a conspiracy or magical tape player. the person trapped inside so desperately wants out, and cant reach the outside world.
they got too cocky, too close to the truth. they were found out, and got thrown into the machine, most likely by the one we only know for now as The Founder. if the founder controlled the tapes, T_1 would make a lot of sense. the person trapped inside seems to think that if the founder was caught and/or killed, something would be able to help them. also in T_1, there was an image of a classroom. a red box over the teacher, white boxes on the students. odd, there was a static box on the person you killed to get the good ending.
what could this mean?? ever wonder why there was so much static on the screen?? why was the person you killed the only one without a definitive color, instead being static? its the VHS person. they were the ones you sacrificed for the good ending. you won the test.
the test? oh yeah, didn’t i mention a classroom earlier? a red box (possibly the founder, or a person in their employment) on the teacher, and white boxes on the students. wouldn’t it be funny if the color of the boxes means the amount of control the founder has?
white, blank slates. red, an overpowering color. in fact, the only color in any of the images shown in T_1. this test was given to the students. those that failed Lost, and those that won were converted to Reds. you can maybe tell that this is the case due to the end screen on the ? ending. you were told to not look away, and were congratulated. after a loud beeping noise and a screen filled with *red* the video ends. you, poor soul, were white. now, you’re good. you’re *red*.
notice how on the ending tapes some of the static turns red? the static of the VHS person is infected. theyre red, now. theyre trying so hard to escape, but nothing escapes the founder. remember the single photo from T_1?
that one picture of mitt romney with a red box over his face?? whats with that? romney is a poltitian, and a shady one at that. hes an *authoritarian*. he wants extreme governmental control over the people. odd, isnt this whole thing reminiscent of a controlling cult?
maybe the whole right v left thing was misleading for the first question for a reason? its a subjective question, and usually boils down to personal opinion. unless there really was something against cats shown later, its more safe to assume that its an introductory question that doesn’t matter all too much.
but i do think its important to note the fact that the “reasonable first question” is used. as someone pointed out to me, its a “foot in the door” thing, which is actually quite relevant to what i think genloss may be describing!
see, with quite a lot of cults, the main reason people get sucked in so well is that they use the fact that the people you interact with are just that, real people. they slowly introduce you to new “ideaologies”, try to skew your mind towards them.
its a subtle form of brainwashing, but a powerful one. if a participant went into the test blind, they would let their guard down for the first question, seemingly because its a normal, everyday question.
the ‘life vs death’ thing, although extremely philosophical, is also a relatively common question. from there, the questions get deeper and scarier, luring the subject in.
the whole “place frogs in hot water and theyll jump out, but put them in water that slowly heats and they wont get out and end up burning themselves alive” thing, while niche and not really scientifically accurate for the phrase (i’ll explain later) is honestly the best analogy i can think of.
the victims don’t know whats happening until it’s too late, or they never even notice at all. granted, the thing i referenced is from a scientific study of this one dude who took the brains out of frogs to see if they had souls, so… take that how you will lol.

Edit after the fact: This took me an hour that I was really supposed to be doing something else during so please consider reading it if you are interested in chronicle zero it is just a brain dump of all of my random thoughts but i hope to summon other genlosers who might like it
alright so this is gonna be a LONG post that's just Chronicle 0 theories and probably won't be edited too much because at some point I'll be typing as fast as my brain is going
Starting from the top, the connecting post from the generation loss twitter. This is the same connecting... type thing as from some Gen 1 teasers, especially with the portal thingy which means that, going by infinite alternate universes theory segment it's probably the reason we can see the things Zero writes.
In other words, the portal/connecting thing could be what let us watch Showfall Media's show, and could be the same thing that's putting Zero's journal in twitter posts for us.
Then Zero replies to it (kinda) with their first journal post, talking about how they're supposed to categorize their thoughts. Zero thinks it's dumb. The date is sometime in the 1900's, probably gonna be important later for time period and stuff. However, probably 1970's or later due to a later entry by Zero. The journal stuff was probably suggested by Mary (therapist?) as suggested by a later post. She wants Zero to keep writing.
Next, theres a poll with 3 hellos. I am forming this thought as I am writing it, but the polls seem to have an extremely different vibe than the journal entries. They could be a different person, someone from generation loss, or they could be Zero from a different time period... The definition of generation loss is "The loss of quality between subsequent copies or transcodes of data." (Wikipedia) could this be Zero from after the story starts, trying to ask for help or communicate? If so, does Zero know about the journal posts? I'm going to treat the polls as a different version of Zero for the rest of this analysis even though that isn't very likely.
The next post referances how it's been 8 months. 8 months since what? Given that Zero started writing in July, it was likely December or maybe November when something happened to Zero. Did Zero lose memories? Something happened to Zero, but what? Was it lostfield? What happened in December? Definitely something traumatic for them.
Continuing that section, Zero is getting treated poorly, and their family as well. This could easily be because of what happened in December. Did Zero do something? If Zero did something, other people might view them as a monster and be treating them poorly because of that. Zero made a list of good things and bad things, which can sometimes be something therapists ask you to do, making me think more that the journal is therapist sanctioned. The good things include their family, dog, Jay (partner? best friend?) something thats crossed out, and the journal they're writing in. They don't list the bad things, saying that they won't ever forget those. Is this a book so they don't forget their feelings? Are they worried about their memory? They also say that writing is helping.
There's another poll, between Who? or What?. Not much information to go along with that, so i'm skipping it.
J, presumably Jay, says that Zero should log their "wild dreams". This is where it starts getting interesting :D
D1 (dream one) Zero was in a red field (LOSTFIELD??) and it was all weird. For some reason, this made me think about nuclear stuff. Ranboo did say that radiation exposure was on the genloss board of ideas, but I don't think that generation 0 will have that, at least not much with the information that we have currently. Zero states that they were trying to find something, and then fell into a chasm. They state that the chasm felt unnatural and unstable. The cave shifts and they feel like they're being FORCED TO WATCH IT. And then the dream loops. Could this be a generation loss glitch? stay with me here, but what if this is a different one of the infinite worlds that's being accidently projected into Zeros mind as they sleep? Unlikely, but possible. It could also be what happened to them 8 months ago... or what will happen to them (poll person?).
Next post- Zero doesn't like work. This is the post that makes me think the year is 1970 or later, as it's mentioned that the manager is old and doesn't understand what they're selling due to his age. That implies that it could be technology retail, making me think of a later year. "the comments hes made have gotten on my nerves" harassment over normal stuff, or could it be over a side effect of whatever happened 8 months ago to Zero?
Ooooo Zero showed their dream to Jay and Jay thinks it's a cycle/Zero being forced to relive stuff. I really think there's going to be some sort of time loop in the show this time, like in groundhog's day and some other movies. Zero will probably get stuck. Jay likes supernatural stuff- Oh wait Ranboo mentioned this generation will have ghosts and stuff is Zero being haunted? THE POLLS COULD BE MADE BY GHOSTS OH MY GOD I WONDER IF THAT'S IT. that would be so cool and would make sense what if the ghosts are showing Zero how they died. Are the ghosts showing Zero how they died while Zero is sleeping. Oh no Zero's going to have so much trauma. IS THAT WHAT HAPPENED EIGHT MONTHS AGO DID SOMETHING HAPPEN LETTING THE GHOSTS CONNECT WITH ZERO THAT WOULD BE SO COOL probably not but like- okay back to the posts Zero doesn't believe in the supernatural despite Jay believing in it and knowing a lot about it.
wowie dream 2 okay Zero is definitely a high schooler or college student as they mention school and work as part of their normal day. Anyway the dream is a normal day but then they end up looking at the stars on the hood of Zero's car. Zero mentions a "we", could be friend group or Zero and Jay? Maybe Zeros family. Zero was calm, but the sky was ripply (like water?) and the stars looked weird. then everything else was gone and the sky crashed into them until they woke up?
If the dreams are from ghosts, then that ghost either drowned or got crushed by something from the sky. Could be a bomb or something, maybe.
oh my god it's another poll the poll is between Stop or Don't
Don't won. If the polls are from ghosts then this could be them asking if they should stop sending Zero dreams. If the polls are from Zero in the future... they could be Zero begging someone to stop torturing them that would be funnn.
Dream three! (this analysis is almost over and if you read all of it then thank you) Zero is in a hospital with alarms blaring and they know something is happening. TIME LOOP TIME LOOP TIME LOOP TIME LOOP THEY TRY TO FIND AN EXIT BUT KEEP ENDING UP IN THE SAME SPOT they don't know anything but that they have to get out... get out before what? they start panicking and then something starts chasing them. Oh this is an interesting sentence "It's screams sounded like my own, like I was out of air but still needed to make a sound." the phrasing of needed to make a sound and the fact that its screams sounded like Zero... The screams sounding the same remind me of the wire monster from Generation One absorbing Charlie. The fact that it sounded like Zero NEEDED to make a sound is incredibly concerning, but then again Zero and presumably the thing chasing them are both trapped. they are all trapped. Zero runs out of energy and then wakes up right before they can see the thing come through the door they just went through.
If these are ghosts, then this one died trapped in a hospital, possibly being chased by an attacker. (or alarms could be because of an air raid or smthing if I'm trying to connect this to as many theories as possible) This dream makes me feel like the POV is of someone younger. being trapped and having something chasing you until you run out of energy feels like something a child would feel, especially combined with the hospital and alarms. I'm not sure why I feel like that though.
At the end of that entry, Zero says that they're late, likely for school, and then they leave.
but then there's another poll
RUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUN
or
KEEPGOINGKEEPGOINGKEEP
if the polls are from Zero's future self, then Slightly Older Zero could be living through the dreams. Maybe what Zero does in the dreams effects what Zero can do later.
If the polls are from ghosts, im not sure what this one would mean.
okay last journal entry before this post is done! Zero starts by quoting J "you never know when inspiration and or a traumatic experience will hit you" I really hope that Jay is a character in the filmed part of Generation 0, they seem great. This does kinda confirm that whatever happened to Zero was traumatic though. Zero then says that Mary was right about writing in this helping them. (this is why I think Mary might be Zeros therapist) then Zero says "maybe she could be right about me. Im hopeful." This makes me think maybe Zero views themself poorly due to whatever happened to them. Very interesting
Alright this post is finally over thank you for reading my rambles I'm so excited for this generation and the rest of generation loss thank you again bye!

Some thoughts
What I'm interested in knowing right now is what was supposed to happen at the end of episode two if Showfall Media had succeeded. Ranboo finds himself with two opportunities: use the Puzzler's key to exit through the set, possibly continuing the cycle of the game (since the Puzzler himself seemed to be under the control of Showfall to a certain degree) and dooming Ranboo to the same fate as the Puzzler, or be liberated of the mask by the mysterious TV helper, which is the road they end up taking, for better or for worse. But none of these seem to be the plans Showfall media had for Ranboo. They blew up the Puzzler for trying to help our Hero, and naturally they weren't hoping to have Ranboo find out he's stuck in this show set in the middle of an abandoned mall.
This leads us to various options.
First off, we could assume the Puzzler was another piece in the game, and his supposed rebellion to help Ranboo escape had been scripted from the beginning. The fact is that Showfall has shown no remorse killing off its pawns. Charlie, much like the Puzzler in this episode, was The Big Bad in episode one, and was easily discarded early in this episode when Ranboo cut him open. Who's to say the same fate wasn't intended for the Puzzler? There's a whole bit about Charlie's fate being caused by the Puzzler's misspeaking and not something that was actually supposed to happen, but we learn later on it had been planned since the beginning.
Maybe Showfall has noticed Ranboo's subconscious fight against the mask's control, and their way to have them continue playing the game is by giving him a false sense of security, having his subconscious believe he's actually making progress in escaping. Or perhaps, this was a horror show from the start, and much like Generation Loss itself, Showfall likes to give everything away bit by bit. It certainly wouldn't be surprising, what with all the deaths involved in the show.
Therefore, it is possible Showfall intended for Ranboo to trust the Puzzler and use his key, but mysterious TV man interfered before Ranboo could once again get stuck on this loop.
Then, there's always the theory dictating that mysterious TV man is part of this whole sick game, perhaps even the founder (I've been told this guy is called H but I have no clue why so I'm sticking to mysterious TV man till I figure that one out). We have seen he's able to access the mask's control on Ranboo and configure it to his liking. This leads me to think the mask apparently turning off doesn't reinforce Ranboo's safety in the slightest. Just because they're able to see reality now doesn't mean they're free.
Cc!Ranboo mentioned the possibility of a face reveal, which implies them taking the mask off. Whether this is an event we'll get to see next episode or not doesn't concern me, but I'm interested the implications of it. Since mysterious TV man turned off the mask, there's no reason Ranboo should have to take it off. I don't think the plot would turn in a direction where mysterious TV man is unable to reach Ranboo and the mask is turned back on. And in the event that it happened, it's not as if Ranboo would have the ability to take it off while under its control, nor do I think anyone would take it off them (additionally, I have a theory going on the extent to which Ranboo, the Puzzler and all the others are being controlled, but I'll develop that further in another post).
The fact that cc!Ranboo entertained removing the mask on camera, especially when he talked about it close enough to the release that we can assume most of the plot was completely worked out by that point, means it is in some way imperative to the story. I don't think he would consider it if not, as he treats that subject very seriously. I think because of this it's fair to assume that simply by wearing the mask Ranboo is subject to be controlled. I believe the mask being on simply serves the purpose of hiding what they can see behind filters, whereas the controlling aspect doesn't fade away when it's turned off. If there's a chance Ranboo might take the mask off, it must be because simply turning it off doesn't set him free. I think that, regardless on how they decide to act it out (whether Ranboo's face is shown or it is implied he takes it off without his face being revealed), it is incredibly likely the mask will be removed at some point in the last episode.
If we entertain this theory, there's two possible ways to interpret it. Either the Puzzler was actually trying to help Ranboo escape the mysterious TV man, and the key he gave him actually lead somewhere potentially safe, or, once again, everything was part of the game, and the key was meant to throw Ranboo off their rhythm in the case the mysterious TV man couldn't reach him for whatever reason.
I think it's possible that the result will be some sort of mix of these two theories. Both cases can play into what the overall plot is, which according to the title, is a social experiment. Working off of theory number one, we have Showfall Media running various tests, on our Hero and his altered perception, on our various contestants and how well they play the part, and probably even on the audience response (which may be why the teasers implied we should not watch). They build the perfect stage under the perfect guise, and it seems they liberate the control on the participants ever so often to see how they react.
That could explain why Austin seemed to be much more genuine than everyone around him, as perhaps he wasn't being controlled, and why Sneeg temporarily regained control. I don't believe what ocurred with Sneeg was an error, I don't think Showfall Media can afford those kinds of mistakes. It may have been on purpose. This is something I've been thinking on and will develop in the other post I mentioned earlier.
But some details don't fit into that theory, like why they would choose to give the side players those liberties instead of experimenting with their Hero. They might not want to take their chances, or maybe they do in a much more controlled way, which is why they make Ranboo wear the mask.
Either way, I find the second theory to be a better fit for the whole social experiment theme. It would make sense that mysterious TV guy were the one directing this whole ordeal, making up the perfect scenario. A character is presented with an altered reality, which they slowly gain control over to uncover its real appearance, and are presented with a whole corporation that seems dedicated to ruining their life. With a little coach along the way to inform them of certain details (this coach being mysterious TV man himself), the experiment seeks to find out whether the character will fight or flee, seek freedom or vengeance.
Remember, this is only the first generation (that we see in recording) of countless characters that have been and will be tagged as Heroes and put inside this nightmare show to track their behavior.
I find it more plausible that a mysterious team would continue this for generations, rather than a corporation that streams this content and is relatively easy to be reached by the authorities, specially when they don't do a whole lot to hide the death in their shows. I don't think Showfall Media is broadcasting this at all, and it's just a cover that plays into the nighmare our Heroes are introduced to (it is true that there's audience participation to take into a count, but we have realized our choices don't really affect the end result and may be completely rigged, invented even, part of the ruse). Instead, I think these records are kept to be analized by a secret few. That is, after all, how GenLoss was introduced to us in the teaser. As a bunch of tapes someone had found laying about.
Or maybe it's simply a detail to be overlooked, but seeing how everything has turned out, I don't think it's the kind of thing Ranboo would skip over. It may all be left up to interpretation though. Be as it may, I'm incredibly excited for the last episode. I won't be able to watch it until probably a whole day after its release, but I will be eagerly waiting until I get the chance to do so.

Genloss Theory #1
More Theories
So, I’m gonna start writing these up on Tumblr to collect my thoughts. If you have comments, please let me know and I might add stuff. Also, SPOILERS.
So, theory 1: Crucifixion.
Tumblr media
In the last episode, we see Ranboo killed while being held in a pose reminiscent of a crucifixion. His head is held inside a box that’s kind of like an Iron Maiden (fun facts about that at the end) but his body is held with his arms out. Not a perfect visual but very similar.
The thing is, the crucifixion in Christianity is not a depiction of death or torture, as the concept may suggest considering its history as an execution method. It’s instead symbolic of salvation. In Christianity, it’s the salvation of humanity, but here it’s the salvation of Ranboo himself. It’s symbolic of his relief from the pain of death and rebirth he experiences in Showfall’s control. It’s religious in the sense that it’s release from the cycle of pain but it’s also religious in the sense that it’s salvation.
Not only that, but it’s also found in the fact that the crucifixion only symbolizes salvation as long as you believe in it’s efficacy and power. If you don’t believe in it, it remains solely a source of pain and death. But we believe in it being Ranboo’s release. We, the audience, listen to his pain, his fear, his cries for salvation, and give him what he yearns for. He believes it’s his salvation and we believe in it for him.
About the Iron Maiden thing. So, I learned recently that apparently Iron Maidens weren’t real torture/execution methods used in the middle ages. It was basically made up based on some historical precedent that is similar but not the same. But it became popularized and is now found in media quite commonly!

Maybe I'm slow on the uptake here... But I was thinking abt the Creature we made in Episode 1, and wondering what the hell it was like under the perception filter ..

..Like it's so silly, right? It's just a goofy guy. But we know from Sneeg's death towards the end of the episode that it is Very much capable of killing something Horribly. And then I thought to myself, "Hmm, what other creature have we seen that seems relatively mindless, just going after whatever is closest and murdering the shit out of it?"
And then I realized.

so because at one point the hat broke Sneeg awake from the weird mind control brainwashing does that mean that this terrified look was him seeing Charlie literally cut open and mangled and bloody instead of him full of green goop
