Lower Elementary - Geometry
These students are very focused on their work in geometry! This material covers the parts of an angle, such as the vertex and sides, providing a solid foundation for more complex geometry. Students construct angles with the geometry sticks, reinforcing their understanding and visualization of how angles are formed. Collaborative learning is a key aspect of their work, enhancing their understanding of angles and fostering teamwork, communication skills, and a sense of community.

It use to be my favorite subject in elementary school, but my highest math level was only 8.8 which is nearly 9th grade. In middle school (7th and 8th) I started to not like math as much because I personally didn't like my 7th grade teacher. (I forgot why I didn't like her but I still loved math but not with her as my teacher.) And I skipped 8th grade and went to 9th. Now I'm in 10th. I hate high school math. I find Geometry fascinating, but not fascinating enough for me to care. Geometry is my only actual bad grade. I keep the rest of my grades at A-B, meanwhile Geometry stays at D-F.
I didn't wanna derail the other post but I still wanna spread some love for my favourite subject...

Too Sweet - Jschlatt part 1
baseball coach Schlatt x math teacher reader
Tumblr media
Reader is a math teacher who finds her computer science teacher coworker an asshole. Schlatt finds his algebra/geometry coworker very annoying. What happens when they are forced to be around each other and get along?
Tumblr media
You knew you wanted to be a teacher from a very young age. At first you thought you wanted to teach at the elementary level, but you found a love for math. After graduating with a math degree, you accepted a job at a high school in New York. Although you wanted to teach AP Statistics and Calculus, you got a job as the general algebra and geometry. This means that the majority of your classes are full of athletes and kids who do not care about their education.
You watch as a group of baseball boys walk into the classroom. “Josh, Drew, Sawyer did you do your homework?” You ask the boys.
Sawyer grabs a crumpled piece of paper out of his backpack and hands it to you. The other two boys look at you in shock. “We had an away game last night. We weren’t able to complete it,” Drew finally says.
“How did Sawyer get his done, but you two did not?” You ask the boys with a look of disbelief.
“I did mine on the bus.”
“Coach Schlatt told us not to worry about it as focusing on the game is the most important,” Josh tells you.
“I guess I’ll be having a conversation with Coach Schlatt later. Go take a seat, we are learning a new concept,” you tell the boys. You turn around to take a deep breath. Of course, Coach Schlatt, the baseball coach and computer science teacher would tell his players to not do your homework. You both have had an issue with each other since you started working here. All Schlatt cares about is baseball and his players being the best. Which sometimes means that he doesn’t expect them to do your assignments or if they fall asleep in class. He claims that they probably needed the sleep.
At the end of class, you decide to pay Coach Schlatt a visit during your prep time. As you both worked in the math and computer department, you had the same prep period. You knock on his open door and he looks up from his phone. “Ms. (Y/L/N), can I help you?” He asks you.
“Yes I needed to speak with you about a few of your players,” you tell him, walking up to his desk.
“What did they do this time?”
“Well Drew and Josh did not do their homework. Sawyer completed him, but the other two didn’t. They claimed that they weren’t able to because you had a game last night and also you told them it didn’t matter.”
He sighs and looks directly at you. “I told them to focus on the game. But have you read the research that shows that homework isn’t an effective way of teaching?”
You narrow your eyes at him, slightly. “Yes, I have. The only reason they had homework is because they felt my class time was time to play around.”
He nods a bit. “I’ll talk to them. Though you may need to work on your classroom management and also I’m sure they needed your help.”
“Thank you for your time. I’ll leave you alone.” You turn around to walk back to your classroom. “What an asshole,” you mutter under your breath.
You go back to your class to get some work done, hopefully working off your stress. How could someone be so bluntly rude? Did he really insult your teaching and your classroom management? You felt that you did your job well. Your admin seems to think so, but maybe you aren’t.
At lunchtime, you walk into your best friend’s classroom in the fine arts building. Ted or Mr. Nivision is the drama teacher and the two of you quickly became kids. As you have the same lunch period, you eat together every day. You grab your premade lunch from the mini fridge in his room. After you grab it, you slam the door. “Woah what’s wrong with you?”
You put your lunch in the microwave and slam that door too. “Coach Schlatt is what’s wrong! He’s such a douchebag.”
“What did he do this time?” Ted asks, eating his salad.
“He told his players that my homework was not important. When I went to talk to him about it, he brought up research about how homework is unnecessary. Obviously I know that. They only have homework because they refused to do it in my class. I told him that and he insulted my teaching and my classroom management,” you vent to him.
“I’m so glad I don’t teach a core content class. I think I would choke a kid out.” You laugh slightly at him. “That’s stupid of him. He’s usually a pretty good guy, but that was just uncalled for.”
You grab your lunch from the microwave and take a seat beside Ted. “I know he’s your friend or whatever, but he’s an asshole. I don’t know what I did to make him hate me so much.”
Before Ted can say anything, you hear footsteps walking into his room. You look up to see Schlatt walking in. You turn to look at Ted in disbelief. “Oh yeah (Y/N), I forgot to tell you that Schlatt is going to start joining us for lunch.”
“Awesome,” you mutter with a forced smile. “Glad that you are joining us,” are the words that came out. You wanted to tell him to fuck off and choke on his lunch. However, you decide to stay civil and give him your best smile. Hopefully Coach Schlatt will do the same.

I know some Eastern Slavic languages, so I want to use this skill to share with new (I hope, lol) information about Russian true crime for Tumblr. Yeah, sorry for bad English.
Vlad's classmate shared his school certificate. In Ukraine teachers use a 12-point grading system. So, Roslyakov wasn't a good student. Students in Jorge Guzman's Class
I am doing a comparison of all of the students at the academy and the ones shown in Guzman's Classes.
Tumblr media
Trev was at school and in the class in "28 Puddings", but he is not in the picture. Maybe he is not in Guzman's homeroom class.
Tumblr media
The two kids that on the left and right in the image below were in Guzman's math class in "Teacher's Pal", but not in "28 Puddings" where he also teaches math. Also, that math looks too advanced for elementary schoolers even for an advanced academic program. It seems to be a mixture of alegbra and geometry.
Tumblr media
The two students; however, did appear at the school in "28 Puddings" in the images below.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
In "Peace of Pizza" the students names are recorded on the "Kidness Day" Sheet. There are 12 students in the class currently and 12 names are are listed on the sheet. Also, Violin Kid is just listed as "Violin Kid", The other students names read as The Face, Whatevs, Rando, and Fella.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In "Dig A Little Deeper" Trev is in Guzman's science class, but the two kids with the unknown names are not there at the beginning of the episode.
Tumblr media
One of the unnamed kids appear at the end of the episode and sitting in the same place as Trev did at the beginning of the episode.
Tumblr media
Hannbal and Stuart aka John and Jane Doe's twins also go to the school, but are not in any of Guzman classes as far as I know. (Well one of them goes there, but so the other one probably could too.)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The rest of the students names are unknown, but they appeared in several episodes in the background.
Tumblr media
The kid on the far right.
Tumblr media
The kid in at the back of the "Vote Now" line.
Tumblr media
So all of the students shown in Guzman's Classes are Hazel, Winn, Jasmine, Dev, Bev, Kev, Trev, Whispers Fred, Jenkins, Violin Kid, The Face, Whatevs, Rando, Fella, and two unnamed students, which is a total of 16 students and five students, which are the Doe Twins and the 3 unnamed kids. There are a total of 21 students have been shown at the academy.
Come on @nickelodeon, allow this story to continue so we can see these kids again.

Early Childhood - Geometric Cabinet
Look at that focus! The Geometry Cabinet is a key sensorial material used to introduce students to plane geometry. The cabinet typically contains six drawers, each with different geometric shapes, including a drawer dedicated to polygons like the hexagon. It enhances children’s visual discrimination and fine motor skills through tracing and matching activities. The use of nomenclature cards expands their vocabulary, while the hands-on aspect fosters a deeper understanding of geometry and spatial relationships.

ADHD is fun and games until you enter the workforce. I was diagnosed this year and everything makes so much sense.
I was ok with getting 90s for stupid errors on all of my tests and assignments all the way through my masters, because I still got As and A+s. I thought it's normal to know everything and still only get 93%.
No one ever pointed out that it's a concern. All of my teachers in schools, who got to observe me for years never pointed out that it's weird that I definitely know everything, do everything right, but then 3 + 5 = 4 and I don't get an A+ (*we are talking geometry, trig, calculus, and liner algebra, not elementary school)
Fast forward to workforce, where getting 3-5% of every task wrong is CRITICALLY BAD, and leaving everything to the last minute is just not acceptable. And actually it's better to mess up the procedure - because that's something that's more noticeable, than hide a thousand 3 + 5 = 4 in your reports

I saw that you said geometry was your fourth favorite mathematic and that trigonometry placed somewhere above geometry kinda gay if you ask me
So, how about you give us the official Stanford Pines Mathematic Rankings!
Here’s my comprehensive list:
1. Trigonometry
2. Mathematical physics
3. Linear algebra
4. Geometry
5. Topology
6. Elementary algebra
7. Discrete math

Things that weren't on my 2024 bingo card:
Seeing my principal play drums for people with 7 minutes of expirience
Hearing my French teacher(elder French woman) say "skibidi sigma"
Having my english teacher say "slut" infront of all of his classes, on purpose.
Hearing about how after someone yelled "I don't want to do cocaine!" In class as a joke, my english teacher proceeded to say "well if you ever change your mind, I have crack in my drawer"... Everybody is still wondering if it's a joke or not
Having our brand new orchestra teacher quit on us 2 months into the year(I blame the 6th graders)
Having to explain to my mom what is the Duck Song and it's cultural significance
Having to bond with my cousin in Ukraine about how stupidly teachers and the administration act during emergency lockdowns(for me it's school shootings, for him air strikes)
My Art teacher making a "that's what she said" joke
My Art teacher saying to one the students "Chill Papi"
Meeting my new Assistant Principal via hyperventilating in the middle of the bus parking lot.
Having my geometry teacher vent to a lizard, that ran into the classroom, about how our class couldn't answer an elementary level question ("Can you believe this Raptar")
Partaking in a random passing around of my friend's art work via teeth (he bit the canvas, walked up to someone, that someone also bit and took it away and the cycle continues)
Seeing a math teacher in a custom Christmas sweater with another teacher's face on it. (I don't know how to feel about this)
My english teacher explaining the plot of a myth where Odysseus becomes a s€x slave
Seeing a flute player(band teacher) try to tune and teach string instruments, (his only string instruments class in college was during COVID lockdown)
Gobbling up like 3/4 of a large pizza at a class party in a class I wasn't even part of.
Being harrased by a random 6th grader via pick up line "Are you good at math? Cause you should subtract your clothes, add a bed, and divide your legs" and as I speed walked away he screamed GYATT
Getting fat shamed by a 8 year old at a playground
Explaining the same 8 year old who is reality and how it's going to hit him.
Pretending to call 911 on that 8 year old(i renamed my friends contact to 911) and bro really thought the FBI will be chasing him for climbing trees
The 8 year old also stole my friend's fake santa beard and we ran after him for a good 10 minutes (End of the "the 8 year old" Saga)
Winning a Student President election at my school by creating brainrott stickers and giving them out
Covering for my sister's boyfriend as he ran to get my sister a Christmas present in secret and then 30 minutes later, me and my sister found him next to an ambulance (on his way back some guy collapsed right in front of him so he called 911...brother had the most eventful trip to micheals)

for the character ask game you reblogged: 12 + 17 for melissa and 28 + 33 for billy!! :3c
12. how long have they been around? do you know their birthday? is their birthday the day you made them or another day? what do they think of celebrating birthdays?
Other than “sometime in May” I don't know her birthday, and I also don't remember exactly when I came up with her other than late 2020/early 2021? i think I typed out her original concept as a joke and then months later when I was freaking out about continuing to play my Weird Little Guy in my friend Basil’s MOTW campaign I was able to pin her down very fast. But also oh my god she's 4.
She hasn't really celebrated her birthday since she was like. 8. Adam(her dad) would always try to be home around then but it was hard considering that its relatively close to mardi gras season and the logistics of what to do with a tractor trailer lol& quite frankly Needing to pick up jobs. Barbara(grandma who raised her) kind of just. Didn't do celebrations very much at all. Not in like a Mean way more just like. Being horribly horribly depressed and very tight on money thing. So she never really picked up on that and had enough social troubles in elementary school where she wouldn't have been invited to many other kids birthday parties to be like. Jealous of ig? Like probably did Friend Stuff in middle&high school but no strong foundation and then she mcfucking dieded.
Fast forward from the 80s/90s between her inherent memory issues, the long stretch of homelessness/semi homelessness and her trouble keeping track of time and Aging Fuckery From Bring A Shambling Corpse Animated By A God Of Terror she does not remember her birthday either other than “sometime in May”. Only one of her fake IDs has a may date on it.
As for other ppl celebrating bdays she thinks it's like? Really cute. Couldn't plan a party and 50/50 on whether she'd show up if invited but its adorable.
17. how did they spend their summers/free time as a child?
She transitioned pretty early(9-13ish)(Barbara took care of business), prior to that she didnt have many friends so kind of just followed Barb around like a lost puppy. After that TOTAL latchkey kid, out running around with the other kids in the project till the street lamps came on lol. This stressed Barb to No Fucking End(80s. Magnolia projects) but honestly Melissa looks back on it as a really fond time. Alot of pickup games, hanging out in the graveyard, by the river.
Other than Running Around Outside Barb had roped a cousin into giving her relatively intensive violin/fiddle lessons(both styles). Peepaw Boudreau had played and while Barb has Mixed Feelings about him being dead she was Not Going To Let A Good Instrument go to waste.
In high school she also would've done some minor math tutoring for classmates, geometry&trig especially. She met her best friend/ date doing that(trading, she needed help with english)(he lost touch with her 2 months before she died)
28.how do they show that they care about someone? how do they express that they don't like someone?
Billy is in the Top Contenders For Clingiest Motherfuckers On The Planet. She's just the kind of guy to always be touching someone as long as it's socially acceptable. Also loves doing things for people they care about. Like if someone they like complains even a little bit about a chore other than cooking it will silently make sure he does that for them forever now. (He's a decent cook, just really hates making anything more complex than like. Tea. However is Very big on the Cut Up Fruit Apology. But will also not confess to being the one who's left someone cut up fruit. Albireo is haunted by a fruit ghost). Does tend to be very pushy with ppl he cares about.
As for ppl zi doesn't like. Especially if forced social contact. Very bad at hiding it. Seethes, sulks, glares, 1 word answers. Will not-so-subtly try to bait them into throwing the first punch. In fairness does try to avoid being around ppl she doesn't like. Has inherent issues with authority that can make that challenging
Is capable of acting, however, especially for a Goals Sake. Also generally pretty amicable? Other than being an authority he doesn't think deserves it Something has to Happen for that treatment haha.
Now the Viktor Conundrum. So he was introduced to Viktor right after Jericho, who he looked up to and sort of saw as a ‘everythings going to be ok look at him’ figure, Died Badly. Like. Less than 8 hours. Like he was just sent away from helping on of Jericho’s adult children make a funeral pyre. And was explicitly told by his (not-scary)boss who he just learned is Shadier Than Originally Expected that Viktor is Jericho's replacement now. So already off on the wrong foot. And then they got stuck in a time loop where, in his POV Viktor’s behavior made them stay stuck longer(Maurice does not get this held against them in the same way bc he already likes them). And then {redacted}. So like. He feels bad& responsible for him but also they got off on SUCH a bad foot. And also there's a little(a lot) a bit of that thing where u know when u meet someone with the same kind of autism as you and they grate on ur nerves real bad even though u know you act the exact same way going on.
33. if applicable, how would your other characters describe them? i mean specifically the people around them.
I was going to draw stuff for this but I fucked up my wrist earlierrrrrr. This one's kind of hard to answer bc thanks to TTRPG format the other characters that I think about the most in relation are Not My Guys They Are My Friend's Guys. But other than that, Alondra, their older sister, would be like “little bastard is more stubborn than mamí and that's not a good thing. Wish he'd stop blaming himself” and Mal, her spouse, “I love him, don't get me wrong, but he can be so much sometimes? Like, they're so sweet, but sometimes I just need her to step back, y'know?”
And of course, Maverick(horse), “my pet. Feeds me appy slices :). Doesn't let me bite fingers :( Let's me play with their foal :) makes me go on the train :( takes me to bite cows :) braids my mane and tail :/. I will not stomp them to death with my beautiful and powerful hooves.”
But if someone :jestersweetness: who plays with me would like to answer this I would also greatly like to see that

notes from "foundations of combinatorial topology" by lev pontryagin
french mathematician poincare was a real pioneer of combinatorial topology. he was the guy who came up with the fundamental notion of "given a n-dimensional manifold M and a sub-manifold Z, there either exists or doesn't exist a sub-manifold C that has Z as its boundary." he was also the guy who came up with the idea that manifolds can be decomposed into simpler parts, called simplices. nowadays we learn this stuff when we do homology theory, as a lead-in to algebraic topology. and, apparently, homology theory is the foundation of this stuff called combinatorial topology too.
Combinatorial topology studies geometric forms by decomposing them into the simplest geometric figures, simplexes, which adjoin one another in a regular fashion.
simplexes (and polyhedra, which are created by building simplexes together) can be examined in a group theoretic way. similar to how elementary algebra was created and makes a lot of geometry problems trivial, there are numerical invariants in simplexes/polyhedra and we can basically treat these geometric objects as just numbers. then, just by tweaking the same methods, it becomes possible to examine more complicated geometric forms which may not be reducible to numbers.
(notes from the introduction)
