Hi, my name is Nona, and I'm the co-author of Golden Bro au. I can not draw, so you'll only see texts from me. I will rarely publish anything, but I participate in everything related to this au and can answer questions.

Belos heard the door opened and then closed softly.

- Emperor Belos, did you want to see me?

When Belos turned around, Shade was already standing properly, on one knee, with his head bent down. They might not have been in the throne room, but in the Emperor's private workrooms, but he was still obliged to show respects to his master.

-Take off your mask and cloak, -Belos ordered curtly. Shade, without getting up, obediently obeyed the order. - As you know, in the palace you known as the previous Golden Guard. So I decided that despite the mask and hood, you should look more like him.

Shade raised his eyes, frowning, but still saying nothing, waiting.

- I'll cut your hair, and then you'll dye your hair red, so-

- No.

Belos fell silent, squinting, but the grimwalker in front of him did not flinch and did not lower his gaze. The dark-red eyes were full of determination, and the palms that a moment ago were just lying on the floor clenched into fists.

- Excuse me what? - Belos took a step forward, intending to teach this upstart a lesson.

- No, Emperor Belos,- Shade's voice didn't waver. - That is my hair, - he breathed in deeper. – Please, let me deal with it myself.

- Please, Father, - Caleb stepped back. - I will deal with it myself.

Philip take a look from his father, who was holding scissors in his hands, at his brother, who refused to let his father touch his soft hair.

- Why is it so important to you? – the father sighed wearily, covering his eyes with his hand. He was clearly tired of Caleb's constant resistance about his hair.

- I just... - the older brother lowered his gaze to the floor. – It's important to me.

Belos blinked. Shade was still standing in front of him, clearly ready not to be cut so easily.

Not a single grimwalker. No Grimwalker had ever possessed this little detail of Caleb before. Each of them was calm and even indifferent to their hair, and what about it. But examining Shade's brown hair, tightly tied in a ponytail, Belos was surprised to realize that there was not a single knot there. Shade was watching his hair. Just like Caleb many, many years ago.

Philip was sure that this feature was lost, that he would never see it again, but here it was in front of him, in the resolute eyes of someone who had previously carried out his every order. The one who looked least like Caleb. And yet... it was his Grimwalker. His brother was still alive out there somewhere.

Belos turned away.

- If it's so important to you, then so be it, I'll let you keep them.

- Thank you for your grace, Emperor Belos.

- But, - he snapped. – You'll dye them blonde. It's not up for discussion. Am I clear?

There was silence for a few seconds. Shade weighed his options while Belos waited. This grimwalker was smart, he had to understand his position.

-It will be done, Emperor Belos.
