My Idea for a Live-Action X-Men Movie...
Thinking... how can we introduce the X-Men into live action, whether through movie, tv show, limited series, etc. ... and I have an idea.
Let's start in media res.
Charles Xavier's School for the Gifted has been active for the past few years, however with a small class size of seven. Scott. Jean. Bobby. Hank. Warren. Alex. Lorna. Despite only consisting of seven students, due to Xavier's wealth he has been able to keep his school open and thriving since the beginning.
However that has changed as the size of his class has dropped from seven to one after a botched mission led to the capture of his students save one, Scott Summers.
And the opening scene is Xavier sitting in his mansion, worried, waiting, until Scott kicks his door down, tells them his team is gone, and passes out due to exhaustion.
We then pick up on our narrator for the movie, the character whose eyes we will be seeing the entire movie take place through, stepping off a plane and into JFK airport...
Ororo Munroe. Storm.
She had travelled from her home in Africa seemingly on a whim, as if drawn there by fate, and - unsure where to go or what to do next - she goes to a nearby bar to make her next plan.
Who should happen to sit next to her but a short, hairy man in a cowboy hat and a thick, Canadian accent?
Ororo, meet Logan. They do not hit it off.
She does happen to hit it off with the soft spoken Russian man who is reading poetry at the other end of the bar - Piotr Rasputin - and the bartender, a Native American man - James Proudstar - who wasn't supposed to be working that day but traded shifts with his roommate.
While they are all gathered there they hear a voice in their heads and turn around to see Charles Xavier, a man they all recognize and all soon realize is the reason they are now gathered together in this bar. At first they all want to leave but Xavier implores them to at least first hear him out, which they agree to do, but he tells them he won't start until the final member of their group is here.
Cue shouts and gunfire as Kurt - Nightcrawler - runs, leaps, and teleports across the airport in all his blueness.
Xavier manages to calm the crowd however not before one of the security guards manages to call in that the threat is a mutant and it's a race to grab Kurt before reinformcements arrive. But wouldn't you know it the group is not the best team yet and the reinforcements do arrive in the form of Sentinels.
It seems like all hope is lost when, out of nowhere, a stray quartz-colored beam blows one of the Sentinels apart and allows the group a moment to escape. They regroup in Xavier's car, which had been where Scott was waiting while Xavier gathered the others.
They return to the mansion where Xavier explains what happens to his team, that they were responding to a mutant in distress on an island that had ultimately been a trap - with only Scott escaping. The group has been gathered together to help Xavier and Scott rescue their teammates.
It's mostly a resounding no. Piotr would rather be at home on the farm. James has to go searching for a new job since he undoubtedly got fired from the bar for leaving during shift hours. Logan is "not a team player" and believes that the team is most likely dead anyway. Kurt is game but he is also "not the best fighter".
Ororo also agrees to help.
That surprises everyone. She says that while the circumstances that brought them together were underhanded, she cannot sit idly by while innocent people, people like her with a mutant gene, are in danger. Not just those on the island, who they are tasked with rescuing, but around the world especially since Sentinels have become standard issue around the world. While she does not see herself being a full-time member, she knows that the team Xavier had protected mutants like them from these threats and, with them gone, who will protect their community now?
Xavier tells them that, after they help rescue his original team, they would be free to leave and do what they want with their lives as they please.
Piotr is in. So is James. Logan sighs and agrees, "Since I don't want to be the odd one out." They agree to go save the others. Scott says, however, that before they can mount the rescue mission, they need to become a team first - referencing their battle at the airport and how they need to improve.
They agree to train.
Meanwhile, on the island, we see that there is a Master Mold along with Trask and scientists working on creating the next model of Sentinels in their ongoing war against mutants using the captured mutants from Xavier's Academy as test subjects. The scientists are just as much as prisoners as the X-Men, however, as they were led to the island on false pretenses and forced to work for Master Mold who had, unbenknownst to everyone until the final act, had taken over Trask and controls him as a puppet.
A few of these scientists came with their families. One of these families were the Prydes. Katherine Anne Pryde is seen as a non-threat by both Master Mold and Trask, and is able to freely wander the island as well as speak with the prisoners because, since everything is monitored and she is twelve, she cannot do anything to disrupt the mission. We learn from this scene that Master Mold is on the cusp of unveiling a new breed of Sentinel that, using the schematics pulled from Jean's mind, would be able to track mutants anywhere without needing to be called in. It was luck that the X-Men arrived on their island, fell into their trap.
Meanwhile back in Westchester, NY, this new team of X-Men are having a hard time at coming together to work as a team, which is making Scott mad. He and Logan almost come to blows if not for Piotr stepping between them to break things up. They both step away to cool off.
Ororo decides to speak with both of them. First, she goes to Scott, and tells him that he is not being a good leader. They have a heart to heart where he confesses that his friends are his family, and Jean... he has a lot riding on this being a success, and this is as new to him as it is new to them. He is not used to working with people he hasn't grown up with. Ororo tells him that he needs to lead from a place of love and courage, and not fear. Then, she goes to find Logan to see that he is brushing off Kurt rather coldly and Ororo does not wait to take him to task on his loner attitude. They clash a bit before Ororo tells him to get his act together or just leave, as it shouldn't matter to him what they think if he really doesn't care.
They all agree to do another training session, only they never get the chance as Xavier tells them it is now or never as there was a spike of pain from the same island his first team was lost, and that cannot mean anything good. The heroes go to get suited up and fly to the island base.
Master Mold is ready to create his new breed of Sentinels and it looks like they are a success, as they have been fitted with new upgrades. He activates a few and they immediately power online with the alert that there is a mutant among them.
All eyes turn to Katherine Anne Pryde. Kitty.
Her father and mother object but are restrained as the Sentinels begin to pursue her, only able to tell her to run before they are knocked out. Kitty runs and manages to escape the Sentinels after discovering her ability to phase through solid matter. The escape is not fullproof as they burst out the bunker in full pursuit. When she reaches the beaches with what looks like no place left to go, the clouds part and reveal the Blackbird jet which Ororo had just exited from and is now flying down to confront the Sentinels she spotted chasing the little girl. The Sentinels sense her power and lock onto her, only to get blasted by lightning and turret fire.
The X-Men land and confront the Sentinels but, unlike at JFK, they are able to work together and take them down. Even Logan finds himself being a team player. They rescue Kitty and she tells them where the prisoners are and also what Master Mold is planning.
The team decides to split up - Scott, Piotr, and James will confront Master Mold while Ororo, Logan, and Kurt follow Kitty to the prison area.
Of course we stay with Ororo because, again, she is who we are relying to guide us through this story.
We get to the prison area and it's Ororo, Logan, and Kurt going HAM on these guards taking them down while Kitty uses her powers to free the X-Men. She manages to get to the main control room and hits the button that releases all the prisoners who do their best to help, despite being weakened from experiments and torture.
We learn from Kitty that there's a prisoner missing, and they admit that it's Jean. She was taken by Trask.
So the group races to the main room where Scott, Piotr, and James are and see a BUNCH of Sentinels on the loose and pure pandemonium. Piotr and James are on the ropes and Scott is putting up his best fight, however just as the group arrives the Sentinels converge and blast him, with a woman across the room watching calling out his name as he 'perishes' (we'll circle back on this later).
Without their leader and shocked, Ororo steps up and takes command, leading the group into battle like she's been doing it all her life against the Sentinels while Kitty and Kurt evacuate the scientists. She cuts across the room almost instantly to get to Trask and Jean where we finally learn that the former has been completely taken over by Master Mold and is now a Sentinel cyborg. They battle it out but it's a tough battle given the numbers they're against until there's a moment where Ororo and Jean are tucked away, shielded from incoming blaster fire from Trask and the Sentinels, when Jean places her hands to the ground and closes her eyes. Ororo asks what she's doing and Jean tells her she's asking for help.
"From who? Xavier only sent us?"
"From the mutant we came here to help in the first place. From the island."
BOOM! We get the reveal that the island. Krakoa, is a mutant and has been weakened by the experiments run on it by Master Mold and the Sentinel. Jean tells the group that they need to let Krakoa 'feed' on a piece of their energy to recupe its strength for it to help them and they all look to Ororo as it's her call, and she says they should do it. They do and the ground rumbles and shakes and we can see the island begin to terraform as it fights back against Master Mold and the Sentinels. It takes out MANY of them while the X-Men pick up the slack on the rest.
Ororo takes on Master Mold/Trask hybrid as the island begins to sink back into the ocean, with Trask, damaged, spouting nonsense. That he is there to save the world, that he is the FUTURE, the INEVITABLE, that the X-Men cannot prevent the world falling apart in the future, that they will be responsible for the apocalypse. However, with a lightning zap and some timely telekinesis, the group escapes back to the Blackbird as the rest of the island has already been evacuated.
The X-Men return to Westchester without Scott and inform Xavier of what happened.
Time moves on. They recover. They mourn. A memorial service is held for Scott. Xavier's original students, Warren, Bobby, Alex, Hank, and Lorna, decide to leave the school afterwards as they believe they need to come at the Sentinel problem another way. They form X-Force.
Xavier comes up to Ororo after the service and asks her to stay on, despite her having no obligation to do so. She watches Logan and Kurt keeping Kitty entertained while Piotr and James speak with her parents, about Kitty staying on at the school and learning from Professor Xavier, and decides that she would like to stay and lead the X-Men. Jean joins them and says that she'd be happy to be on any team Storm is leading, revealing that -of the original students - she is the only one who is staying with the X-Men. The three look out onto the horizon as there are endless possibilities for the X-Men now *play the theme song*
END CREDIT SCENE NUMBER ONE - Magneto watches Xavier's new team of X-Men in action and converses with Mystique, saying that, "If Charles has put together a new team of recruits, we should, too."
END CREDIT SCENE NUMBER TWO - A blonde woman in all white speaks with a raven-haird men with red eyes and a crimson diamond embedded in his head. "You pulled a lot of favors to get him, are you sure he's worth it?" "Believe me. He is." The duo, Emma Frost and Dr. Sinister are looking over the body of Scott Summers, very much NOT DEAD, held in stasis as the camera pans out and reveals the Hellfire Club.
And that would be how we introduce the X-Men, and mutants, into live action movies.

The final part of the Sanders Sides "Giant merman" au story. It is the end of the au.
First -- Previous
CWs: while everything is kept very brief the story does mention abandonment, injury, person being called monster, mentions of self-neglect, kidnapping, being tied up, and death.
Part 4
On the local morning news, a cargo ship was reported to have had an unfortunate run in with a supposed whale; the hull dented, propeller and rudder smashed. The ship drifted at sea before it was successfully towed back to safety by the coast guard.
Logan chokes on his morning coffee. No way a whale could manage that. And with the state of mind that Virgil left the beach in… Logan worries Virgil’s gotten hurt.
He calls Janus. There’s a long pause. “You don’t have to worry about him anymore. We’ve got him.” And he hangs up. Leaving Logan even more jarred. He tries calling him again, but he’s been blocked.
Roman calls him next, having seen the news too (Patton is still sleeping cause he’s not a morning person). They both rush to Patton’s place, calling in to get the day off their respective work.
The trio then tries to figure out what to do. Janus had straight up told them that the company had Virgil. So, he was at a mainland harbor or something similar. Did he go willingly? Only one way to make sure. They find a map and start plotting, locating all possible harbors. They’re not abandoning their friend! Meanwhile Logan feels responsible and quite guilty.
Scene changes to a mainland harbor, where the company is keeping Virgil.
Janus is staring up at his sleeping form, his gaze travels to the side of his tail, a large gash adorning it. An injury likely from smashing the cargo ship’s propeller. He’d call for someone to look at it.
One of his team members walks up to him. Janus asks if the sedatives shouldn’t have worn off by now.
The former shrugs. Probably. The mer was exhausted before so he’s probably just catching up on some Z’s.
Janus frowns. This wasn’t how he wanted things to go.
Part 5
Flashback to before the capture:
Janus had explained to the company board about the three friends and his own plan of the giant coming willingly. They had agreed to it.
Since they already had placed a tracker on the giant, they were confident that the giant wouldn’t escape even if he declined the offer. ((Virgil must drink freshwater, there’s a stream that he frequents on the mainland. The “tracking team” could easily figure it out and wait for him to visit it, thus plant a tracker from afar on him.))
But the board had completely lost their cool after hearing that the mer had attacked a ship; Seeing the tracker’s location along with the location of the cargo ship… They put two and two together. (The company has their own ship at sea, keeping an ear on the marine radio channels. Just in case)
The board gives the instruction to just go ahead with plan B; which is to sedate the mer and tow him into their harbor. The mer was growing too unpredictable for their liking, it’d be safer for everyone to just bring him in. What they’d do with the mer was still being discussed.
Janus opposes but the plan is already set in motion during the early morning.
While he waits for his team to bring the sleeping mer in, he receives a phone call from Logan; talking about the cargo ship on the news, worrying about Virgil. Janus tells him not to worry about Virgil anymore; they’ve got him. He then blocked his number; the three didn’t need to be weighed by company business anymore. Janus may also be a bit salty because the trio didn’t keep him updated on Virgil’s status; they didn’t hold their part of their deal so he’s not keeping his.
End flashback.
Part 6
When Virgil wakes up, he’s not very cooperative. He’s tied up, confused, scared and angry all rolled up in one. He refuses to let anyone approach or tend to his injured tail. So Janus does a “villain speech” and basically shoulders the full responsibility for Virgil’s capture (he’d rather have the mer angry with him only so that his team could tend to his injuries and hopefully feed him). This allows his team to work better with the mer, but Janus isn’t having a good time.
A week passes
Somewhere during this, Virgil learns about the fate of the researcher that created him. The person he viewed as a parent, that he still views as a parent. Learning that she unfortunately died in an accident shocks him, but there’s also relief in knowing that she never abandoned him. That he was never an unwanted creature; she was going to come back to him. He starts bawling; for the loss of a parent, for the years of solitude, for being stuck in a place with unknown people, for attacking the ship. And above all, missing his humans.
Virgil is so miserable. Janus considers contacting the trio again as it’s just not working. What Janus doesn’t know is that Logan, Roman and Patton have been scouting all possible harbors where Virgil might be kept.
The trio ends up finding the harbor just as Janus gets the green light to get the trio involved again. He calls Logan, the ringtone echoing loudly in the back area, effectively getting them “caught”.
Virgil initially doesn’t want to greet them, recalling his actions towards Logan on the beach prior. But the two have a heart to heart and reconcile. Logan also addresses his guilt from not noticing the bad state Virgil was in.
Everyone has a talk. It’s eventually decided that Virgil can swim freely in the ocean again and spend time with Logan, Patton and Roman like they used to. But he has to return to the harbor for health checkups and to eat; so he doesn’t impact the area's ecosystem as much by staying in it.
In the end, Virgil is free and can spend his time with the people that he loves. He mends things with Janus too. Getting another human friend. And they lived happily ever after. :)

Mushroom Circles
Chapter one
Ao3
When an accidental blood sacrifice leaves him in a strange new world, Roman has to hide
Logan would like to know what has been eating all the fruit
Maybe it would have been better had he not gone on a midnight walk through the woods, or had at least not gone alone.
Despite the dangers that seemed obvious at the time, he was entirely surprised by what had actually happened. He had a pocket knife in case he needed to defend himself, obviously, but it turned out that he didn’t need it.
In fact, more than not needing it, he probably would’ve been better without it.
He had been walking, fidgeting with it in his hand, when it had suddenly opened and sliced a large cut into his palm, and he had to watch the blood start dripping. He hissed in pain and clutched his hand close to himself
Great, just great. He started walking back to his house, intent on finding his spare first aid supplies to bandage up his hand, and then probably go to sleep. Roman didn’t really know why he had come outside, he often had little impulses like that, but even he could admit this one was stupid
He grumbled to himself as he walked back, cursing as his foot caught on a rock and he tripped over, instinctively putting his hands in front of him to try catch himself.
He winced as his still-open cut slammed into a mushroom. He looked at where he had fallen and his breath caught in his throat. A faerie circle.
Roman was not particularly superstitious. In fact, he couldn't care less about most superstitions. But faerie circles were just something he couldn’t help but feel cautious around.
Sure, he knew it was probably just made up that a faerie would show up and steal you away if you stepped in one (his brother had made a point to step in every faerie circle he saw when they were walking together, just to annoy him) but he just couldn’t bring himself to enter one himself
He lifted his hand, finding that his blood had stained the top of the mushrooms. He manoeuvred himself into a sitting position, and twisted around to look around him.
He pushed himself standing, and looked down. He was still in the faerie circle, and in his movements to get up, he had gotten his blood on almost every single mushroom. As if on cue, a single drop of blood fell on the one undirtied toadstool.
At first, he was unsure if it was his mind that was making up the strange, almost-weightless feeling he had suddenly gained, but then the circle started to softly glow
He tried to take a step back, out of the circle, but found that he was blocked by some kind of invisible force
He could feel his breath speeding up and he could feel something happening.
He blacked out.
When he came to, he was staring at the sky. Had… had there always been that many stars? He sat up, wincing as his hand reminded him of his injury. He froze in place
The trees that surrounded him were decidedly not the same as the ones that were there when he passed out. Firstly, if his vision in the night served him correctly, the leaves were blue. Secondly, they were about fifteen times the height they usually were. Thirdly, near the tops of them were a lot of treehouses.
They were to scale with the trees.
He looked down at himself- he looked the same, even if he was quite dirty from falling down, and from passing out. There were no faeries nearby, as far as he could see, and so he resolved to hide until he could figure out a way home
He didn’t know if this was the realm of the faeries, though he suspected it probably was, and he didn’t know if the people or faeries that lived here would be kind to find him in such a vulnerable state.
He looked around for anywhere to hide, and found somewhere, though, admittedly, it was not the most glamorous.
There was a small tunnel under a tree root, which opened up slightly, under the tree. For someone who was not as tiny as he was, it wouldn’t be very noticeable, and it seemed that there were no other animals living in there, luckily for him.
It was dark, but it was hidden and that’s all that mattered. He didn’t like it, but the idea of a giant faerie finding him was worse. He moved things around to try to make it a little more comfortable, but there wasn’t a lot to move. Some splinters of wood, and some dirt
He didn’t even have his phone, because when he got sudden midnight impulses, he didn’t tend to think ahead very much. He watched the opening for the next few hours, suddenly feeling very paranoid about what could be out there.
His hideout became somewhat more illuminated as the hours ticked by, and when he chanced a look out of the opening, he confirmed that this definitely was not earth. Unless earth had suddenly developed a purple sky, or if people were suddenly brightly coloured and had wings, of course.
As much as he loved the idea of faeries and magic, this was not what he wanted. The idea of being in a fantasy world was intriguing, when it was just an idea and not a magical transportation to a giant world where he was at every disadvantage.
He looked out at the giant faeries and held his breath. He hoped to whatever-he-could that they wouldn’t notice his little home under the tree roots. He knew they probably wouldn’t, considering that it was majorly concealed by such roots, and could only really be seen by being at such a small size, or if one was looking for it.
Each faerie had some kind of bright colouration. Skins in purples, blues, reds, pinks, greens, any colour he could think of, hair being much the same. The wings seemed different on different faeries, some being almost crystalline, some being the stereotypical butterfly wings, some looking like dragon wings.
The strangest faerie he had seen seemed to have no wings, but had yellow scales scattered across dark grey skin. He didn’t see it for more than a few seconds, though he was not disappointed by that. It was far too snake-like for him to feel at all at ease near it
One faerie that he saw more than others over the next few days was one with the crystalline type wings, that almost looked like a blue and black stained glass window. It had dark blue, almost black hair and blue skin as well. It had glasses, and it often sat at the bottom of a nearby tree and read.
Roman often overheard conversation between faeries, though it was of as much use to him as if he had never heard anything. They spoke a language he had never heard, and seemed to only speak that.
The language on paper seemed just as incomprehensible to him from the few glances he’d gotten from the blue faerie’s books. He had been a little more adventurous with watching over the few days.
He knew that he was still very concealed from view, even when he could see in front of him.
There was another faerie that he saw quite often. It lived in the treehouse in the tree he was living under. It didn’t always come down to the base of the tree, but it liked to talk to the bookish one. It was a lighter blue, almost cyan, with turquoise hair and butterfly wings. It also had glasses.
He watched them often, just to make sure he knew when it would be a good time to find food. He had been having a hard time finding food over the past few days, and whatever he could find was often too big to drag into his hole in the ground.
Usually he had to go out at night and rip off whatever he could from fruit that had fallen from trees. The fruit wasn’t always left on the ground, however, and was often picked up by different faeries, thus limiting his ability to eat. He couldn’t find the energy to resent them for this, but he did wish they’d leave some for him at some point.
He felt his stomach rumble as he watched the nerd faerie pack up its things to leave. There was a fallen piece of fruit on the ground next to it, taunting Roman relentlessly. The nerd was meticulous about leaving things clean, and so Roman would likely never get to eat that specific piece.
He’d have to get lucky and wait for another piece to fall. He sighed and watched the nerd leave.
Wait…
The fruit was still there? Had it forgotten? Night was falling, there would be very few faeries around soon, and he’d be free to eat. He smiled, thanking the small mercies of the world.
He waited until darkness had fallen and he could hear no one or nothing moving, and he climbed out of the tunnel and towards the piece of fruit. He wasn’t too sure what fruit it was, it tasted strange and looked like nothing he had eaten before he had been forced into this realm
He ripped off a piece from the fruit and began eating. There was barely a dent in the fruit, with it being about the same size as him, perhaps even slightly larger, but he ate for a while. He supposed it would be noticeable by the time he finished, but he didn’t think that was as big an issue as starving to death.
Once he figured that he had eaten enough, he ran back to his little tunnel.
He’d managed to make it a little more comfortable over the few days, and he had some soft leaves (he was correct on first assumption- they were blue) on which he slept.
It wasn’t the most comfortable but it was the most luxurious option he had at his disposal. He often thought about his bed at home- and that led him to think of home in general.
Was his brother looking for him at all? Was anyone else? What would they say when they found his dried blood on a mushroom ring? He couldn’t imagine
——
Logan didn’t often stray from routine. Most days, he’d wake up, prepare himself some breakfast, go out for a fly, and then sit under a nearby tree and read. The tree was near his friend Patton’s house, so they often talked to each other
The past few days, Logan had noticed some strange happenings. The feeling of being watched, primarily, but also that any time a piece of fruit would drop to the ground from a tree in the area near Patton’s house, and it stayed there overnight, it would have strange bite marks.
It could fall in the morning and stay there all day, but nothing would start eating it. Only at night. Obviously, this pointed to the idea of a nocturnal creature, but Logan knew nothing that made bite marks or anything the way that were left in these fruits. Nor did he know anything that stayed so close to one specific area.
He believed to have found its habitat, however, when he vaguely noticed movement under a tree root. He couldn’t make out anything in particular in regards to the animal, other than it must’ve been small, given the size of the hole it was in. From the angle he was at, he could only see a small fraction of the hole it had burrowed into, but he had noticed movement more than a few times
He sat, reading for a few hours, stopping only to talk with Patton
“Hey, Lo!” Patton greeted him, ever the happy man he was
Logan smiled, dragging his attention away from the book he was reading
“Patton,” he greeted shortly, “how have you been?”
Conversation continued naturally between them, until Logan caught movement from the habitat of the unknown creature
“That animal I’ve been trying to find for the past few days,” he started, before gesturing towards the tree “I believe it has burrowed into a hole below your tree,”
Patton’s head whipped around to look at the tree with metaphorical stars in his eyes, immediately making a move to get up and presumably run towards the tree, before Logan grabbed his hand
“Remember, this is an unknown, small animal. It has shown to be skittish, and small creatures are much more likely to die of shock, or attack when they feel threatened, so we should probably leave it alone for now,” he cautioned
Upon Patton’s answering pout, he continued
“But, I suppose we could attempt to earn its trust enough that it would come out of hiding on its own,”
Patton’s wings fluttered a few times in what Logan assumed was probably excitement. Logan couldn’t deny that he was also quite excited, though not for the same reasons
Logan was rather intrigued by the strange nature of the unknown creature, and he couldn’t help his curiosity from growing stronger. He’d love to find out what it was, perhaps even discover something new
He, a few hours later, after Patton had left, began packing up his things. He noticed a singular piece of fruit on the ground next to him. He was about to pick it up, but then thought about the mystery creature
It seemed to only be eating food that had dropped on the ground. If he picked it up, what were the chances it would find something else? He let out a small sigh and left it on the ground, putting his books in his bag.
He flew away from the tree and towards his home.
Once he was sitting safely in his bed, he sighed.
Of course, whatever the unknown creature was may be dangerous, so he’d have to approach the situation with caution and be careful not to startle it. Maybe he could leave some food out for it so it wouldn’t have to survive on the off chance some fruit might fall from a tree
He thought about all of his observations of it. At first, he’d hypothesised that it was nocturnal, as that would explain why it only came out of its burrow at night. But, he had seen movement several times during the day- so perhaps it was just hiding from what it perceived to be a threat
He couldn’t think of a single thing that acted exactly the same as this mystery animal
