Why cant I look a gift horse in the mouth? Are you hiding a smaler gift horse there? Is ther a coconut png in there without a transparent background that if i try to remove it will crash the horse?

I fell down a mental well of considering the phrase 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth.' As far as I'm aware what it actually refers to is that if somebody gives you a horse, you don't immediately look into its mouth to check its teeth, as by doing so you are implying you expect the gift to be subpar. It's about trust.

But the most famous 'gift horse' in history was the one left outside Troy, and while it was for Athena (I think) and not the folks that took it through the gates, they should absolutely have looked that gift horse in the mouth, as then they might have seen all the Greeks crammed inside.

So stealing other people's gifts may backfire if you don't check them properly. Also, don't be a dick and do that.

...and then I came back from that whole train of thought to find myself staring blankly at the wall not having done anything at all for about five minutes.

SO this is Zesty, my beloved, my weird little guy, my silly rabbit.

Who is she? welll a Clown of course! (A monster hunting clown!!! Oooo!!!) She is basically like a clown supervisor for newbies. Zesty comes from a long line of clown family and has been in this business her whole life. Her brother Lemon has the same job!

This comic, (gift horse? High horse?) is gonna be like if homestuck and inuyasha had a transgender clown baby :)

Its hard to say when I’ll be ready to publish this comic in earnest, I have a lot of pages close to finished, but more story yet to write. Getting my bachelors and working as a colourist for some bigger named artists slows my progress, but i swear its happening!!! I did this illustration to get to know Zesty better, and how she poses :D

like an early 00’s fanfic writer, im bad at descriptions but i swear this comic is going to be so cool! :D more details forthcoming.
