first of all, you're my first ever ask, i got SO excited!! i have to say that i couldn't think of answers to some of these so i just left them out.

- i don't have one specific ice cream flavour i prefer, but i probably get pistachio and stracciatella the most.

- i only got interested in f1 halfway through 2023 and didn't have the opportunity to watch a lot of races, so the majority of my feelings regarding the drivers are based on sympathy. as is pretty obvious from my blog, i think, my favourite drivers are charles, oscar and alex. lando is definitely up there too.

- why are they my favourites? i will hold back from going into way too detailed analyses of these people and just say i like their personalities, as far as we get to see them from our limited perspective as fans. for alex and charles especially, i admire their resilience and strength. for oscar, i admire his calmness and level-headedness. these are all traits i don't have and kind of look up to them for.

- i would love to go to ireland and/or scotland!! i was actually supposed to go on a course trip to ireland with my english class in 11th grade, but then the pandemic started and that plan tragically failed.

- about driver pairings, i really enjoy lando and oscar as well as charles and carlos. i obviously enjoy reading rpf about these pairs, but aside from that based on the little i've seen so far i really like their team dynamics and find them incredibly entertaining and the most likable in combination with each other.

- i wanted to become a vet when i was little! that lasted until i was about 14 and realized i can't even watch a tv show about vets without bawling my eyes out when they have to put down a pet. i'm a student rn and i plan to either go into publishing or become a librarian later on.

- my favourite animals are, very boringly so, dogs. they're great. my family had one for 15 years and he was a delight to have around. i also really like horses (yes, i took horse riding lessons for ten years, thank you so much for asking). wolves are pretty cool. and snow leopards.

- i have no serious predictions, only desperate wishes. (charles leclerc 2024 wdc, lando first race win, plenty more oscar podiums, alex podium!!!, the list goes on and gets more and more silly.)

ask (honoured!) and you shall receive bestie! quick preface: i returned to the wonderful world of reading phanfic around the start of this year and have admittedly missed out on years of incredible work i am now catching up on! also in terms of what i read i generally lean towards current-era fics, canon compliant/fluff/smut- although i'm always taking recs from lovely moots/whoever, you may find this isn't the largest range (no aus/long chapter fics or whatever) but this is just a selection of what i've discovered/loved in the past few months and i hope to make more of these as i discover more writings!

shoutout to everyone on here for their recs, all the incredible fanfic writers and the peeps at @phanfictioncatalogue for their work and accessibility and being the reason i discovered so many new fics/tropes i now love <3 ok lets get into ittttttttt

"you look at my face a lot" by natigail: i credit this fic for getting me into reading phanfic again in 2024 <3 one of the first ones i read post-hiatus and i've returned to it countless times! it makes my heart jump, just so sweet and so them. the slittening(s) were such an iconic moment i can't believe it's been 6+ months since them but i love the little moments like dan describing phil's hair colour to a sephora worker, always wanting to know more about each other and the soft intimacy.

"the angel in the marble" by ivylakes: OHH MY GOODNESS this one is artttt. this one is my fave of the post-phlondeing fics i can just see and feel everything that happens, the loving, lazy intimacy, and following this week's t-shirt events it absolutely cements my HC that angel is a nickname for our philly. introspection, hair-kissing, body worship- i eat it up (im having a thing for mirrors in fics rn so there's also that)

"slumber party" by possumdnp: if i wasn't already clear reality-based fics really just do it for me and i love this one!! slumber party is one of my favourite recent-ish gaming vids and i just love the cozy comfort vibes of having a sleepover and getting a little flirty with your best friend/crush going on 15 years <3

"after the birthday stream" by trashcanfromgallifrey: the birthday stream ignited something in all of us but this is just such a perfect depiction of (possible) events after hehe. feels so them, just love the loving intimacy and shower activities and fluffy endings with cake <3 (shoutout hannah ily!!)

"lovers, keep on the road you're on" by possumdnp: another personal fave. japhan 2019 is EVERYTHING to me, this is so lovely and well-researched and i just go in between reading this and watching the stories from it when i want to cry and book a flight to tokyo

"welcome home! (never leave that long again)" by natigail: this one is just soooooo soft and sweet and fluffy. so heartwarming and one of the many wad reunion fics that has my heart <3

ok i'm going to end up including all 40+ of my bookmarks (not a lot. but working on it hehe) if i don't stop myself so as much as i could write paragraphs about all of these just know that my PPA test is positive and i was probably sweating/giggling/kicking my feet at all of these so here's a speedrun list of pure smut (sorry it's a lot of what i read lmao):

Learning a Sadism Demon’s Past

It’s probably not spoilers anymore but incase anyone hasn’t listened to Vegas latest audio, I’m off on one about it. Also, slight CW for a teeny bit about sadism.

I’m so unhinged about vega rn

So there’s NO CWS on this audio. That means his concern that they get enough rest, Vega saying he values their input, his compliment about their intelligence was not manipulative. I’m crying

His decision to trust them a little more was not manipulative.

Oh his little growly voice made me kick my feet and giggle like I was sitting on the dock with an ice cream and a cute boy just winked at me. I am a slut for this man. I can’t fix him. I definitely can’t make him any worse, but he can make me worse. Please let him make me worse!

And yes he’s old! If you’ve EVER spoken to me you know Ive been talking about this for ages! Or maybe you read my last post about theories. And I also think that Vega perhaps didn’t lose the fight in The Cost. That idea never sat right. A powerful demon centuries old, losing a fight to 2 demons and a human he’d regard as children? Not likely to my mind. So I’ve had theories on that too and sorry if I’ve ranted at you about these before! Either Vega wanted to be caught to “fill up” on fuel, after all whats time spent in prison to an immortal?

Or maybe he actually held back. Is he good? No. Is he evil? That is a very different and much more complicated answer. He doesn’t seem to want to kill unless it’s deserved or necessary. If he did, it would have been easy to kill Caelum the first time they met instead of (rather brutally) trying to chase him off. Vega obviously values life. All life. Or he wouldn’t have joined the Cacophony, and he wouldn’t be trying to do what he’s doing. He’d just let the Meridian fall and consume Elegy.

Of course…the other reason Vega could have lost is that I believe at the time Erik had no plans to bring him back and was finishing a storyline. So yay for retconning! There’s no right answers here and if you believe Gavin beat Vega fair and square then that’s what happened.

This audio also seems to back up something else: that Vega does have morals. Sort of. Of his own. Or at least, he doesn’t cause pain indiscriminately. It’s what he needs but he doesn’t seem to like that fact much. When he spoke to Warden about their diets, he sounded bitter about it. Feeding as he does separates him and makes him an outcast and if he wasn’t a sadism demon, he’d be more accepted. I think it’s part of wanting to go back to Aria and rely on Sovereigns again. He also knows and understands the value of suffering. That when people sacrifice for something, it’s a sacrifice to be honoured and shouldn’t be taken for granted and wasted.

None of that means he’s not a sadist. He clearly is! But he can take enjoyment in someone’s pain and discomfort, without wanting them dead. And who better to appreciate suffering than a sadist?

I absolutely want to scream about the development here! Not just how so much time changes someone (Vega, who were you?) but how Vega knows the Meridian needs mending. And how he doesn’t trust the Sovereigns there either.

It’s also…considerate ? I’m gonna say considerate…that Vega knows he’s going to hurt people to achieve what he needs but has not only given Warden yet another out, but told them he’ll do these things out of view if they choose to join him. I’d say he can’t feed on Warden so he’s just keeping them on side, but again that manipulation warning was missing, so I’m taking that at face value. I wonder if Warden is going to try to argue him out of it or be passive about things? Or…are we gonna get that tasty corruption arc?

Now between Blake’s audios saying bestie won’t survive and Vega outright saying he’s gonna hurt people it seems a clear hint Bestie will die on this arc but…what if it’s Blake? That could just be me but I love a twist. Blake’s Seeing doesn’t let him look into Death or Aria so he can’t tell why Bestie dies in every eventuality. What if it’s Vega, and Blake can do something (you know…like let the demon in the basement go? I can’t see Vega being pleased about that).
