How I think the coming out scene went:

Hei-Ran: Sweetie, everyone in the mansion-no, all of Yokoya knew about it! Well except for Kyoshi.

Hei-Ran: I'm pretty sure Jianzhu thought you were dating, that's probably why he kidnapped you, you know?

Batman never argues for the sake of compassion or rehabilitation in UTRH. Batman was especially callous, punitive, and lacking compassion throughout that early 00s era. He was not championing compassion, rehabilitation, redemption, justice system reform, or (HA!) abolitionism in UTRH—he did not have faith in those things for *the kind of people* whom Red Hood murdered, and he did not have faith in those things for Jason himself.

Every single person that Jason hurt is someone that Batman would hurt. Every single person that Jason murdered is someone that Batman would've unhesitatingly thrown away to rot in prison (a prison system explicitly shown and stated to be outrageously inhumane even by the horrifying standards of the USA).

If the person was lucky, then prison would reform him sufficiently that he could be employed through Wayne Enterprises (Gotham City's biggest employer, seemingly a monopoly on legal employment options for the formerly incarcerated) once he got out after... however long he'd been sentenced. Non-violent felonies can earn years, decades of prison time. Or if he was unlucky he'd be killed by one of the regular prison-breaks staged by Batman's rogues (including Red Hood that one time when a Batman kept him in prison, but more consistently by other repeat rogues).

Red Hood's argument is ''blah blah my crime is not like the other crime‚ my new cycle of violence is totally better than the current 20-year-old cycle of violence.'' Batman's argument is not "we can't throw criminals away‚ they're people just like us :("‚ but instead more like ''ew Jason has succumbed to his inherent criminal nature‚ sucks how he needs to be thrown away with the rest of the susperstitious and cowardly lot.''

I think one of my favorite things about Delenn of Mir is that she didn’t change herself to be with a man, she changed herself for The Prophecy, which is the Minbari religious caste equivalent to committing to The Bit (after a fashion).

hollyleaf is a strange character because while so much of her struggle comes from the harm caused by the warrior code & the way that it’s idealization can cause harm for those engaging in that and those they believe have broken it the end of her arc is just that actually, the issue with her breakdown was primarily deviation from the code! her redemption comes in actually embodying it this time around! and that is awful!

the warrior code is what encouraged her to destroy her own relationship with her mother & to treat her with the cruelty she did. the warrior code is why ashfur could try to do what he did, why he even thought it was an option. her arc should have seen her end up disillusioned with or even resentful towards the code, sworn instead on her own sense of morality over it or her prior ideal of “justice” - more then anything she wants to make amends with her mums, especially leafpool, and she’s determined to never let the codes hurt anyone like it hurt her, or be used against someone like she used it against leafpool.

No bc fuck tim but it really really bothers me how people ignore his growth like he used to be an asshole and I’ll give tim Stans one thing: now he’s so so so stale but what I disagree with is that this staleness is bc nobody likes him like it’s in fact the exact opposite where everyone likes him so much they dont want to do anything. Even when it’s him surface level challenging Bruce it’s when everyone else is doing it too; but he’s still the backbone of the fam! Etc. and it’s so irritating bc him gaining more compassion and empathy even for people he doesn’t fw is so fun to watch and that’s why the captain boomerang thing was so out of character! (Not in a from the author way but in a tim wouldn’t do that and he and Bruce both knew it which is why it went down like it did. Same way dick killing joker was ooc; not in fanon sense but in a he would hate himself forever for this sense) and speaking of that it’s such an interesting mirror to Bruce who genuinely believes that everyone can grow vs Tim’s it doesn’t matter if they grow it’s not my decision to make like it’s the same but it’s not AND WITH CASS’ IT DOESNT MATTER IF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO GROW I WONT DO IT! like ugh. Tiff joined the GSA around the time the Galactic Crisis occurred, which happened sometime after the GSA left Halcandra and Morpho Knight's "death". They needed every capable fighter they could get and Tiff got the heart of a hero. Same thing applies to Tuff, but with a more positive attitude.

Oh and speaking of Tuff... you could say he's quite the tough guy ~
