Glasshead barreleye!

This deep sea fish has essentially two pairs of eyes! Along with its main pair of eyes, it has two round, light-collecting mirror organs on the sides of its head which even have a kind of retina! With its four eyes, the fish can see shadows from above and bioluminescence from sides and below!

get those scissor looking forceps they use in surgery/to pull dogs ear hair out

magnetic needle pillow is overrated and honestly just increases risk of stabbing yourself

if you are a heathen like me who won´t stop sewing over pins buy the extra fine glasshead ones

GET ERGONOMIC SCISSORS

using your iron on low heat to smooth/flatten minky and fleece. use a blowdrier to fluff up fur that got kinda crinkly and flat.

if you have an embroidery machine get the fancy titanium needles. i know they cost an arm and a leg but they do break less often and your machine is the mostly likely to really get damaged when a needle breaks and it gets stuck (it´s also most stressful noise known to mankind)

if you have an embroidery machine. consider getting a good pair of noise cancelling headphones

tear away embroidery backing is actually REALLY good and will save you so much work. if it tears during the process just tape over the back where it tore.

sublimation printing? set your printer to high quality. i know it takes 500 years but just start cutting/taping in the mean time it´s worth it!

set it to photopaper. semigloss works best for mine but play around.

put a carpet around where you cut and work with fabric so the fuzz gets stuck in there instead of spreading into every corner of your house

This character/story was inspired by the Casino Cups Series

His mother is Wine and his father is BeerHead, and he has a sibling named Rootbeer

His father had left their family due to not wanting to have to take care of the children, therefore having to go to jail instead, leaving him, his brother, and his mother alone

His mother is still currently single, so him and his brother Rootbeer are always working to help support their mother

Glasshead's character is a calm individual, who's smart, informative, a dealer, observant, hard worker, soft spoken, & caring

He knows just about everyone's secrets, even the Devil's secrets

For the right price, he'll let you have any information you want from any individual for any reason

His current job is a server, at a famous restaurant, but he works with his brother who likes mischief and messing things around for fun

Finally his character design, his head is of a clear glass cup, with chocolate milk inside his head, and is considered good looking & elegant

Killing time.

I have an FEA running on my other computer. Got nothing to do until it finishes. An FEA is a computer analysis of in this case a large composite vessel. Such is my daily life.

So to occupy myself I look around and see an ad for a nice amplifier in the Classifieds. It is an ARC solid state unit, a D100A. Back in the day it caused confusion and consternation with the golden ears. It may have been the best amp ARC ever made up till that day in the 80s. 100 Watts per channel with not a tube anywhere. ARC no tubes WTF!?

The ad claimed it was fully benched and redone and brought up to spec with everything old and tired replaced.

But.

This was from the era when ARC tried to leave tubes behind. They created "analog modules" which were basically big Op-Amps made from discrete components cast into blocks to hide the contents. These things were intended to behave like tubes. at least that is what the marketing said. Glassheads slagged them hard. For that reason they are less desirable (cheaper) than tube stuff. They will also be impossible to repair if one of the modules cooks. There is no record of what went into the various types. ARC cannot help you.

But.

It has the usual ARC level of engineering and build. If all you care for is performance it is desirable. The golden ears said it had greater clarity and drive than their favorite at the time, which was another big ARC amp with tubes. It had no vacuum, no magic, confusion reigned. Yet it sounded really good.

This is the nexus of tubes versus transistors fight. If "tube sound" is your vision of perfection downgrade the new kid. If accuracy and neutrality is the goal, sign up for one.

It is not perfect. A similar unit was tested by those Geeks in Seattle (I think they are in Seattle) Audio Science Review. It came out less than great as it had distortion less than but similar to tube units. In their tests all tube units do very badly. ARC was trying to keep its voice I guess.

I have said a few times I am a fan of ARC. A fan is a person with an irrational motivation to like something.
