*heavy breathing* it's happening!

At long last!! We don't have all the stories recorded, and we're still hard at work on this project, but we now have enough back up to start posting! And that means... That we are launching the Zevlor Sleep Stories this Friday!!!

Episode #1 is ready to go!!! This is only the title card art, by the lovely @cinnasalmon ! It'll introduce every video in the series. Then past the title card, a surprise first artist aaaaanndd... My own short story!

It was the first recorded by Glen all the way back when, so I'm very hype and eager for everyone to enjoy it. Glen's reading is so great, it actually makes checking him for misspeaks/missing sentences super hard. We struggle not to fall asleep working on this project.

We will upload videos every Friday as long as we have them lined up. And very soon we'll have Omeluum too, with a delightful voice filter made by Devi.

Even if you don't care much for Zevlor or Omeluum, lots of the stories are fantastic DnD tales written by talent fic authors, and meant to soothe you as you fall asleep. If you're a big fan of BG3 or DnD, come and check it out!

Gooood morning and ⚠️Spoiler Alert: for Balder's Gate 3 and Descent into Avernus⚠️

I have spent a healthy amount of time trying to discern our old man's age. After listening to 'Oathsworn' by Vee and narrated by Glen McCready (beautifully written and read, major kudos, if you haven't listened go...go now: (⁠☞⁠ ⁠ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ⁠)⁠☞ Source 1 ). I now have a pretty good idea of some numbers, though this is more of a head canon than fact. But the story authors and Mr.Mcready are collectively giving us the most story we've gotten about Zevlor's early days. (⁠人⁠*⁠´⁠∀⁠｀⁠)⁠｡⁠*ﾟ⁠+

In the backstory we learn Zevlor was about 10 years old when the Hellriders were formed (not the OG ones she trained and who left her in the hells, rip). Zevlor talks about how the Companion was raised to defeat the Vampire lord who took over the city. He also explains he was 2 years, too young to join at the time. Now, I'm not fully versed with the history of the 'Decent to Avernus' but some lovely folks on reddit brainstormed a general timeline if you'd like to take a look (Source 2).

Okay maths time, so Zariel's deal to 'aid' the city against at the Vampire lord was only meant to last 50 years (when Zevlor was 10). So when Zevlor turned 12 he joined and served about 48 of those years. Which means by the time Elturel descended he was already 60...at least. Depending on how the campaign goes it takes at least a year or two for the city to resurface and for the Teiflings refugees to make it to the grove. That means mans is in his early 60s by the time we meet him....... all that stress and he has aged ✨phenomenally✨

Please, correct me if I made any errors these are just my observations. I always assumed he was early 50s lol, like the fact he has no visible grey hairs is insane. I believe he originally had black hair too so we definitely missed out on some salt and pepper action, but the light brown suits him well. And according to the 5e Wiki (Source 3) the average lifespan of a Teifling is 90–150 years. So he's got at least 30ish years ahead of him ( T-T)💕

I wanna share this with my fellow Zevlor lovers, I'm not sure how many male Zevlovers there are but please. PLEASE understand how much this single 6 minute video has given me.

Glen McCready is an angel for this, and I'm listening to this forever. As someone who is painfully closeted and often afraid of being open in fandom spaces too, this is like. Inexplicable. This means everything to me. My favorite npc by far, comforting a character who represents myself in a lot of ways, and doesn't shy from making it romantic by any means.

So please, know that sharing this mean a lot to me.

And thank you, Glen McCready, for being so fucking wonderful.

Forgot to add context: This is for my durge oc Aerdir, a refugee from Elturel turned hero against his will, finding Zevlor in Act Two in the pod. Post battle, he breaks down sobbing before Zevlor, someone he has looked up to and had feeling for since before he was made into a "hero". Zevlor takes the time to calm him down, even casually confesses (which killed me), and lulls him to sleep, to rest, for the time being.

I was wanting to get our lovely Glen to read this poem. It's one of my favorites, and something about it says Zevlor to me.
