long-winded glinda gelphie angst thought ahead.
i just had a Thought™. a very sad glinda gelphie thought.
it's always been discussed how absolutely crushing the finale is; interpretations of glinda's grief driving her to do good, not by her own desire but because it was elphaba's last wish for her, amongst many implications in the finale that i love. however, it's always plagued me how it must be so painful and, to a point, numbing elphaba's absence post-defying gravity to glinda is.
it was never said in the musical how long they were apart (i have not read the book), but i rather think it must be a few years since glinda had to graduate ("we all went to uni together"). so, imagine how desperate she must've been in finding elphaba but not pursuing her search because she deemed it safer for the both of them (glinda with her status and elphaba's everything). how worried she felt in her day to day, wondering if her best friend's even safe, if she's already dead somewhere and no one was able find her body because nobody really knows where she is. all she's ever seen of her are the flashes of black flying through the sky, the sad reality of existing in a world with the one who she loves most but not being able to hold her, not even see her.
and then comes the reunion in the wizard's den.
she hears a commotion, she barges in concerned for whatever's going on in there, she sees elphaba. she sees elphaba. they crash onto each other in a tight hug. she's safe, she's here, she's alive. she holds onto her hand.
but then she realises that elphaba wasn't there to see her. not really. she waited and worried and waited even longer, but elphaba wasn't there for her.
what if she came to the conclusion that elphaba was there to apologise. to make amends with the wizard, so she can be with glinda again. what if glinda thought this was her second chance, a blessed one after she rejected elphaba's idea of flying with her during defying gravity.
she chooses fiyero.
now this is where the Thought™ really sprouted from—
she chooses fiyero and runs away and doesn't even say goodbye. and then the wretched senior citizen duo have the gall, the audacity to plan her beloved's demise right in front of her. but. after she's been brutally chosen over someone else, she bitterly says, "her sister. use her sister. spread a rumor, make her think her sister's in trouble. she will fly to her side and you'll have her."
it works. of course, it does. because that's her sister! her only living family left (though, she wasn't aware of that yet). but what if, glinda started to realise, after being left by elphaba again, that the plan wouldn't work if she were the one in trouble. what if glinda begun to think, how insignificant she must be in elphaba's life. to not be protected by her, to not have her fly over and fight whatever evil that has come to target glinda. to not be priotised by her.
to not even be a choice.

First look at the Wicked movie tie in cover for Gregory Maguire’s book that inspired it all. (For new fans coming in be aware that his writing is very specific and peculiar to say the least and the plot differs from the musical in many ways.)

No cuz getting mad that a woman who is quite literally green is being played by a Black woman is hilarious. Y’all using makeup as an excuse as if Elphaba hasn’t been played by Black women, both full time and by swings, on Broadway and the West End. Like please shut up and just say that you don’t want to see Black people.😭😭😭 Like literally right now two Black women are in the primary roles of Elphaba and Glinda on the West End. One of them was also the first Black woman to play Christine in Phantom of the Opera…Y’all suck at hiding your actual meanings and intentions.

Hello everyone! I'm so proud to announce my first contribution to the Metalsandwich Movie Mania (@now-showing-at-the-hawk-events) event!
I wrote it in a rush, without a real plan in my mind just because I cound't lose this occasion, so please let me know if you have suggestions or critics :)
The first prompt is Musical Movie post-2000 and I chose Wicked, my favourite musical presented in Broadway im 2003 and still played worldwide. I saw it live in March and what an experience!! A movie is planned for December 2024 and I'm looking forward for it.
As the event is MetalsandWITCH, I tried to find a twist for our three golden boys so, let me know if you like it! A huge thanks to @dame-zoom-a-lot for betaing it with a really short notice, for her wonderful suggestion, edits and ideas that really, really improved this silly little fic.
Read it in AO3
Pairing: Steve Harrington/Billy Hargrove/Eddie Munson Cast: Billy Hargrove as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West Eddie Munson as Glinda, the Good Witch Steve Harrington as Fiyero, prince of Wickie Karen Wheeler as Madame Morrible Eleven "Jane" Hopper as Dorothy Gale Rating: Mature WC: 9797
"Steve followed him and hugged him from behind, resting his crotch firmly on Billy’s bottom and dancing and grinding with him. He then leaned his lips on Billy’s neck and kissed it. Billy jumped, but Eddie winked at him, so he arched his neck and exposed his skin to the prince. When Eddie reached them, they sat in a corner together, with their drinks, and they talked of silliness, looking at each other intensely. Eddie put a hand on Billy’s leg, tilting the tights and trying to break it. Prince Steve gazed at him like he was something… precious. Billy didn’t used to be shy, but he was used to fighting for his place and for being seen and believed, and in that moment it seemed to him he didn’t have to struggle for being where he wanted"

If you’re up for it - any headcanons for how Glinda and Elphie would be as parents if they had to take in Nessa or Shell?? (I know Nessa is practically their age but I’m a slut for the Thropp family dynamic between the siblings)
can you do headcanons for the thropp siblings + Glinda?? I lowkey think they’d have such a fun dynamic tbh
Combining these two asks, because they're kind of similar. I adore this dynamic as well, and it was so wonderfully explored in the Love Club so stop me if you heard this one before. ;)
Shell has this adorable juvenile little crush on Glinda and especially at first gets super shy around her (any youngest siblings in the house whose siblings brought over (girl) friends and you got super shy all of a sudden for Some Reason?? no ? just me?? ok...)
Both Nessa and Shell tease Elphaba mercilessly because they've never seen Fabala smile so much and be so goddamn happy when they're around Glinda and it's gross.
Elphaba is absolutely dumbfounded by this: What do you mean "smile more"?!? I smile as much as I used to!! Not even having processed how much of an affect Glinda truly had on her; how much happier she is.
Glinda is so goddamn curious about Elphie's childhood (you know they'd barely tell anything about this) so when Glinda finally gets the chance she practically grills Nessa and Shell about how Elphie was as a child.
Elphaba hides the photo album with her pictures in advance. Nessa knows all of Elphie's hiding spots, finds it and commands Shell to get it. The three of them (Glinda, Nessa and Shell that is) have an absolute lark with it for an entire afternoon. Elphaba sulks somewhere in a corner.
Depending if Elphaba and Glinda return to Colwen Grounds for Sad Reasons (like someone dying), Glinda definitely would try to plan all kinds of Activities to get the kids out of the house and away from the depressing reality. There's not much to do in Colwen Grounds tbh, so they mostly end up hiking and taking long nature walks. This surprises Elphie at first, because they see Glinda as such a spoiled city girl, but having grown up in Frottica, Glinda is a country girl at heart and actually loves outdoor hiking.
Nessa protests many times over that she's "only two years younger!!!" and she "detests Elphaba and Glinda having to babysit her". While in actuality, she's kinda relieved they dropped everything to return to Colwen Grounds, so she doesn't have to do all the scary Legal Adult Stuff or has to guide a frustrated Nanny through the process of filling in tax forms.
Elphaba has to feed them all since Glinda is a disaster in the kitchen, Nessa has no arms and Shell is too young. Glinda makes sure the kids do their homework and go to bed on time.
On the trip over, Glinda and Elphaba were excited about the prospect of so much time together, even if it were just the evening after the kids went to bed. Many romantic and even horny scenarios were fantasized about. What actually happens—each night, without fail—is that they conk out on the couch 5 minutes after the kids go to sleep. Domestic bliss at its finest.

Elphie + Glinda + Liir family headcanons?? (I’m reading attrition rn and I love itttt)
Omggg happy you're liking it so far!! All of my headcanons will show up in attrition one way or another, so I'll try not to give too much away with these :)
Both Elphaba and Glinda are extremely protective of Liir, but in different ways. Elphaba will physically hurt anyone that hurts him, but Glinda takes the approach of showing Liir how to take care of himself via not looking for trouble and learning how to associate with the right people.
Liir is slow to trust others, because he's used to being picked on/bullied, but he trusts Glinda immediately. He and Elphaba take a bit longer to see eye to eye, but he trusts her blindly too.
Glinda cannot cook to save her life, since she's never had the need to cook for herself, but I like to think she can learn and does in fact try to learn so she can help Elphaba in making family meals.
Liir is not a picky eater, he will eat anything, but it's easy to tell he vastly prefers some meals over others and so Elphaba and Glinda both make an effort to learn how to make those.
I like to think Liir starts picking up both Elphaba's and Glinda's habits without them even trying to instill them on him. Like, as he grows he gets an interest in the things that matter to Elphie like Animal rights and social justice, but he also gets an eye for expensive things like Glinda lol
But because kids are never carbon copies of their parents he has his own things that he likes that Glinda and Elphaba Do Not Get. I don't know what the Ozian equivalent of an emo phase would be, but he would have one.
Activities!! When things are quiet and "normal" I like to think they enjoy spending lots of time together, whether that is going places or just staying at home. Even when he's a child both Glinda and Elphaba genuinely like talking to him.
Glinda and Liir are menaces together. Elphaba has never known a day of peace in her life, especially because when Glinda starts teasing her about anything Liir is always eager to join in.
When something scares him he usually goes to Elphaba because he thinks she's brave. When he's uncertain about something he goes to Glinda because he thinks she's wise.
That super common thing of the child waking up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare and crawling into bed with the parents? Happens a lot. Neither him nor Elphaba are cuddly people, but just being there with them can calm him.
He is easily distracted. Elphaba comes up with the weirdest games to entertain him and he takes them very seriously. "The floor is lava" is a life or death situation. Glinda doesn't get it.
Seeing who can scare Glinda and get her to scream the loudest becomes a regular activity once they start living together. Glinda still doesn't get it, but this one amuses her even if it's at the expense of her sanity.
The three of them have the wildest abandonment issues you can possibly think of, so they're pretty tight-knit. Perhaps almost to an unhealthy degree...
But to end on a fluffy note, they all love each other very much and it shows in different ways. Elphie with her protective streak, and Glinda with her willingness to rearrange her entire life to fit the two of them, and Liir with feeling safe enough to approach them for whatever he needs :)

I have a Glinda and Elphaba prompt idea! Feel free to change things or take anything out. My prompt is semi based on the scene in the show where Glinda tells Elphaba that they should share secrets with eachother. Glinda’s secret is that she is really ticklish so of course Elphaba has to take advantage of that. Elphaba then shares her secret which is that she has never been tickled so Glinda (with Elphaba’s permission) helps Elphaba learn what being tickled feels like.
Secrets, Secrets
“Your very first party? Your very first party ever?! How do you feel?” Glinda bounces around in front of Elphaba’s bed.
“Different.” Elphaba crosses her legs beneath her. She tracks Glinda back and forth, back and forth.
“Of course you do! Elphie—“ Glinda comes to a screeching halt, blinking her big, sparkly eyes— “Can I call you Elphie?”
“It’s a bit…perky.” Elphaba grimaces as supportively as she can.
“To christen our new friendship, we should…tell each other something we’ve never told anyone.” Glinda flops onto Elphaba’s bed and they both bounce. She grabs for Elphaba’s hands, loud and insistent.
“I’ll go first. Fiyero and I are going to be married!” Glinda squeals.
“He’s asked you already?” Elphaba frowns.
“No, he doesn’t know yet.”
“Then that’s not much of a secret, is it?” Elphaba raises her eyebrow. Glinda pouts. She hums to herself in thought as her eyes scan the room.
“Fine…I keep a reserve of extra glitter for formal events.” She gestures to a small tub on her shelf that’s genuinely emitting a low level of light.
“No.”
“I’m a natural blonde?” Glinda tries.
“Definitely not.”
“I am—“
“It’s not a secret, Galinda.” Elphaba pulls on one of her ringlets. She pouts, then gasps with an idea.
“My entrance essay was called ‘Wands: Need They Have a Point?’” She gestures as if the title would appear in the air.
“I was there when you announced that.” Elphaba snickers.
“You are so—“ Glinda cuts herself off with a little growly noise that makes Elphaba snicker harder— “I have nothing else to share. My life is a beautifully open book.”
“Dig deep, Galinda. Surely you’ve got something.” Elphaba pokes her stomach and Glinda jumps. She does it again, then again, and keeps going until a stream of squeaky snickers fills the air.
“E-Elphie, that tickles! Let me think!” Glinda swats her hands away.
“Now there’s a secret.” Elphaba grins.
“You wouldn’t dare.” Glinda narrows her eyes.
“Wouldn’t I?” Elphaba mimics the pitch of her voice. Glinda splutters in offense, and then she’s spluttering with laughter as the poking resumes.
“I’ll turn you into a frog!” Glinda shrieks. Elphaba snorts and keeps poking at her waist. It starts to get less and less effective, especially as Elphaba’s touch gets harder. She frowns, but persists.
“Y’know, I—eep! I expected you to be better at this.” Glinda still jumps at every poke, even as her laughter grows quiet. Elphaba recoils as if she’s been burned.
“Oh. You don’t know how, do you?” Glinda murmurs. Elphaba turns sharply away. It’s a silly thing to cry over, but her nose stings with the promise of tears. She can’t help it.
“Well, because I am so noble and full of dignification…I will assist.” Glinda bows. She takes Elphaba’s hands and places them gently at her waist. Elphaba considers tearing her hands away, but Glinda’s gaze is warm.
“Now wiggle your fingers. Gently.” Glinda holds Elphaba’s wrists and nods in encouragement. Elphaba presses her lips together.
“Like this?”
Glinda collapses with a bubbly yelp. Elphaba immediately lets go.
“Did I hurt you?” Elphaba leans over her.
“No, no—you’re just a quick learner.” Glinda looks up with a dazzling smile, her curls fanned around her on the bed.
“Oh.” Elphaba flushes a dark green. Glinda could be so much, sometimes.
“Okay! Your turn!” Glinda boops Elphaba’s nose.
“My turn?” Elphaba swats her hand away but doesn’t break focus.
“For a secret, silly!”
“Oh, I don’t really…have one. I think.” Elphaba fiddles with her fingers.
“Well, I’ll make this easy for you. I expect a rain check on a real secret later.” Glinda scoots so she can sit against the headboard. Her glossy smile tilts into something devious.
“Are you ticklish, Elphie?” Glinda’s voice catches teasingly on her name. It steals the breath from her lungs.
“Isn’t everyone?”
“Dodging the question. Interesting.” Glinda smirks, leaning close. Her eyes rove over Elphaba’s already-warm face.
“I don’t know. I’ve never been…people usually don’t want to be that close to me. Let alone touch me.” Elphaba sniffs bitterly, dropping her gaze.
“That’s a shame.” Glinda says firmly. She stays close. Something in Elphaba flutters.
“May I?” Glinda hovers her fingers over Elphaba’s stomach. Elphaba nods and exhales shakily.
Glinda must not like that shakiness though, because she frowns deeply and takes Elphaba’s hands instead. She clutches one and spiders her fingers across the palm of the other, tracing up and down from elbow to fingertip.
“How’s that feel?” Glinda hums.
“It’s…I…” Elphaba’s nose scrunches. Her smile breaks little by little, like the first sunbeams over the horizon. She tries to keep it together, but her lungs keep doing this indomitable shivery thing she can’t kick. Her whole body trembles with the force of restraining herself.
“I’m barely trying to tickle you. I’m trying to take it easy on you,” Glinda snickers, her glittery nails dancing across Elphaba’s hand.
“I-It can’t possibly get worse than this.” Elphaba peeks at her through one eye.
“Don’t speak so soon!” Glinda says cheerfully, squeezing Elphaba’s side with a viciousness that contradicts everything ‘good’ about her. Elphaba crumples into a fit of ringing laughter.
She wants to crawl out of her skin hearing her own laugh, the shrieky, cackly thing that it is, but every ounce of her self control has fled her. She falls backwards on the bed and Glinda crawls on top of her, tickling with reckless abandon. Elphaba tries to curl up, but she folds right into Glinda’s waiting hands.
Elphaba throws her head back and snorts twice in a row. Glinda gasps.
“You are adorable.” She whispers gleefully. Elphaba hides behind her hands. Glinda tries to pull them away to no avail.
“Kill me,” Elphaba groans, muffled. She resists Glinda until pointed nails poke just right into her ribs and she screeches, immediately flailing to defend herself. Glinda catches her wrists easily and pins them down to the bed.
Elphaba lets out a stream of nervous giggles, hearty and tumbling. Glinda flops on top of her with a dramatic wail. Elphaba’s hand finds her back instinctively.
“What’s happening?” Elphaba hums, confused but not surprised.
“You’re so cute, you don’t understand.” Glinda pops up in a distressed bounce of curls and ruffles. “I just want to tickle you for the rest of eternity.”
And tickle she does. Elphaba squirms and giggles, tossing her head back and forth. Glinda coos at her, terrifying in her accuracy. Feeling another snort coming on, Elphaba grabs Glinda’s hands and pulls them away.
“W-Well, if you keep doing that, you’ll kill me, and you need me for your sorcery tutorial.” Elphaba points at her, eyes wide with a giddy sort of desperation she’s never felt before. Glinda pretends to think hard, but really, she’s smiling.
“You drive a hard bargain, Miss Thropp. I’ll think about it.” Glinda brushes Elphaba’s hair out of her face. Elphaba deflates in relief.
Then: a suspicious tickle at her kneecap makes her release that snort she’d been desperate to suffocate. Glinda cackles evilly.
“W-Wait, Galinda—“
“Oh, you didn’t think I was going to think about it now, did you?”

Villain Glinda the Good AU idea
There was (and still is) a fun theory going around that Glinda was the true villain in the original Wizard of Oz movie, so I decided to make an AU that Glinda is the villain in Lost in Oz.
In this AU, Glinda got rid of the Wizard and the Wicked Witches through the Original Dorothy, and when Dorothy left, Glinda was the only acceptable ruler of Oz. In Lost in Oz, in childhood, Glinda makes friends with Evelyn and Crya to try to get them to forgive their past. It is clear later it won’t happen, and she eventually leaves it be. As said in the show, Glinda had been trying to bring the Gales and the witches together, because if they forgave each other, she would have less threats to her position from the Witch family. Later in the series, the magic crisis is still happening, but Glinda keeps her magic in case all goes to ruins, so she will still have power. Langadeire hates Glinda for the whole Gale and witch stuff but slowly figures out that Glinda was the main villain, causing all the pain her family went through. She doesn’t take it as an invitation to become the hero, as she realizes that she can rule Oz herself, so she goes to keep Glinda away in the painting. (Same events in canon, really.) While Glinda is stuck in the painting, she tries her best to get  out, but when she hears Dorothy from outside of the painting, she stays and waits. She knows that the Gales are smart and will push to find answers. Dorothy will eventually find Glinda. When finally she does, Glinda manipulates the game again.
Upon learning that West has inner magic, Glinda takes West under her wing to learn about how it works. If Glinda was found out that she had manipulated everything, it was something that could threaten her position in charge of Oz. When it turns out Dorothy is the one who can help West with her magic, Glinda tries to separate the two’s friendship. If those two teamed up against her, Glinda would have trouble. With West, Glinda tells her about how Dorothy’s ancestor killed hers, and Glinda put in the thought that she should stay away from Dorothy. That Dorothy could potentially be dangerous or the inner magic she has could be used for destructive motives. With Dorothy, you put a thought in her head that she has to prove that she’s a good person, and that she’s not like the ‘witch killers’. Glinda doesn’t mention either that the witches were wicked, making it seem like they were innocent, or that the Original Dorothy killed them by accident, and never truly intended on killing the wicked witches.
When the Wizard scenes happen, Glinda takes a chance to put the Wizard in a more evil light, saying that he stole the gnome king’s belt, and destroyed the treasury. Truly, he knew the truth of Glinda trying to get power by erasing all of the threats to herself.  He blew up the treasury to get rid of any of the other magical items that she could use to her advantage, but it was an illusion. He hid the items, making Glinda think they were destroyed, while they were just hidden out of plain sight. When he comes back, the Wizard tries to get Dorothy’s help on his side by talking about how he knew his family to get her trust, but Glinda is using her family background as a motivation to be better than them, and not to be ‘evil’ or a ‘witch killer’, making her against the wizard, despite that he’s the truly good guy.
“Well, I know all about you, and your family.” “I’m sure you’re not going to be like your ancestor, right?”
In this AU, Reigh never fully trusts Glinda in this AU, because something feels off. Of course, the others usually will brush off his suspicions for being paranoid. When Dorothy and West’s fragment in their friendship starts getting more apparent and worse, he takes it upon himself to figure out what’s happening, and why they just keep fighting and arguing. Patchwork later joins in with him, mostly because he thought Reigh was being paranoid and a conspiracy theorist, later figuring out what Reigh is onto something. They go undercover to meet the wizard, and try to piece things together.
When they figure it out, they go to Ojo to tell him, as he is the one who sees Glinda the least. When they set out all the evidence that Glinda was there to try and get more power, Ojo seems to slowly process it. Throughout the whole story, he has been in the middle of Dorothy’s and West’s fights, and just wants them to get along like they used to. He doesn’t take too much time to get convinced, as the evidence seems clear on it. He only questions it because they got the information from the Wizard, who was said to be bad.
Finally, Scarecrow. He was the hardest person to convince of course, because all the time he knew Glinda as said, ‘Glinda the Good’, who helped Oz and ruled over just and fair. Even with his memory problem, everything he can remember is nothing to what the others are saying. Of course, he always thought the wizard wasn’t evil, but he doesn’t think Glinda is evil either. Before he had lost his memory, the Wizard had tried to convince him, and it had somewhat worked, but you were very good at minuplating the game to your will, so the Wizard never truly got to convince Scarecrow that she was manipulating everybody.
For West, West does not agree with them at all. She thinks that Glinda isn't lying or that Glinda has a plan for power and such. She thinks that Dorothy is dangerous to be around, and that Glinda is correct in what she’s saying. But the more West thinks about it, she slowly starts realizing manipulative actions and the way Glinda words things. It throws her off, but she realizes her friends are correct. It takes her a lot of time to fully understand it, and she feels a bit betrayed at it. That Glinda the ‘Good’, had always been lying. They are left with having to try to convince Dorothy.
Because of Glinda’s manipulative moves on Dorothy, she questions her mortals, constantly trying to make everybody happy and constantly stressing about it. She is trying so hard to not seem like a bad person, and to prove that she's NOT one. (She's not.) With the fights West and she had been having, she's trying to convince herself that she's not dangerous, and helps good people. When she learns that Glinda is the villain, she sort of mentally falls apart for a while. Glinda couldn't be the villain, because that means that she was helping a villain. Which means she's not a good person. She questions who's good and who's bad, and for a while she's just denying it for the sake of her sanity at the moment.

My Forever Ships
… through the years
Xena & Gabrielle
The OG lesbian ship that brought me here.
They’re the first women I ever see kiss
and I see myself like never before.
Elphaba & Glinda
My first ever ship. My first fandom.
The first time I learn subtext is another word for longing.
Pink and green look good together.
Olivia & Casey
Because who hasn’t had a Law & Order: SVU obsession.
I don’t believe Olivia is straight,
have you seen those ADAs?
Olivia & Alex, by association.
Why not? It’s hot.
Rizzoli & Isles
I love the opposites attract trope, a total fucking sucker.
These two are the weird curvy edges
that fit perfectly together.
(and holy subtext, heterosexuals)
Bo & Lauren
What is love without a lion and a lamb?
Neither can help themselves
and love always finds a way.
Kahlan & Cara
The pairing born from the actresses sexual tension.
Enemies to loves is more compelling than
two good guys falling in love.
Myka & Helena
The love story that should have been, the romance I’ll always want to write,
so justice finally meets a happy ending.
All I have to do is change the rules.
Bradley & Laura
My current favorite, with similarities too close to home.
I’ve been here before, although my Laura did not have her shit together.
I’m both of these women. I have been and I will be.
Happy Valentines Day
To: All the ships that made me believe love is not a lie
Love, D

Glinda walking into the room crying very quietly: e-elphie?
[Elphaba stands up right away, walking up to Glinda and hugging her]
Elphaba: What’s wrong my sweet?
Glinda: I got a paper cut.
Elphaba: . . .
Elphaba: That’s terrible. Do you need a bandage or something?
Glinda: No! I just wanna hug and cuddle. And you can’t escape because I’m hurt!
Elphaba: Of course..
Elphaba after a short pause: You cut your finger on purpose to trick me into cuddling you, didn’t you?
Glinda: Maybe! You’ll never know.
