The Other Sister

She grinned Nina’s big gap-toothed grin and sang along as we drove. Just like the real Nina would do. 

She asked if I’d put on some West Side Story. I didn’t ask where her phone was. 

I knew. The real Nina had it. 

Nina called me that morning from our parents’ house up north. She asked why I was taking so long, I said I had to do all the dishes she left, she laughed. She asked me to bring her sociology textbook. 

When I opened her door, Nina was standing there with her bags packed, ready to go. The Nina on the phone asked if I’d found it. The Nina in the door asked if something was the matter. 

I’d been in our apartment alone for two days. 

This Other Nina brought her bags out to the car. She wore Nina’s clothes. She looked like my sister. But my sister wasn’t here.

She rode passenger. She was in a good mood. Sometimes, she spoke as if responding to things I hadn’t said. Or laughed at a joke I hadn’t made. I tried not to stare. Tried not to look at all.

I considered she was a demon. Something meant to hurt me, or trick me into hurting myself. Dangerous to drive with a demon.

I considered I was hallucinating. That was dangerous, too. 

I considered leaving this Nina at the gas station and speeding on up to my real family. But I didn’t. She came out with a donut and a smartwater and made a strange non-sequitor that I didn’t reply to, though she laughed as if I had.

“Did you pack your sociology textbook?” I asked after awhile.

“Did I? Oh, shit. No, I forgot,” Nina groaned. “It’s alright, I can wing it from memory probably.”

“... Do you remember the last couple days?”

“Pfft. Barely.” She said this like a joke. I had a bad headache.

We pulled up to our parents’ house. My parents’ house. I was sweating, my head was pounding, and I was nauseous. We carried our bags to the door.

My mom, my dad, and Nina rushed out to greet me. 

The Nina behind me lit up with glee.

“Hey Mom! Hey Dad! H-” 

She stopped. The real Nina’s mouth dropped open. The Other Nina’s mouth dropped, too, identically. Both of them froze.

The real Nina started saying “What the f–”

And then the Nina beside me disappeared.

Just gone. Her bags gone with her. 

An ozone smell lingered in the air. My head pounded, and my stomach lurched, and I was sick all over the sidewalk. My parents and my real sister were suddenly sick, too. Everyone slept through the next day.

I’ll never know what she was or where she came from. But I’ll never forget that millisecond before she was gone. The way all her features seemed, in that instant, to stretch out like an image on a broken TV. 

She’d been so terrified.

okay guys some love lore for you all, I love ptv. So much so that they were my number one listened to artist on spotify last year, with selfish machines being my most listened to album. So let's just say I know selfish machines. A couple months ago I heard about a reissue of the album, including a bonus track.

But I was like??? I've been on their Spotify page a multitude of times and never have I EVER seen a reissue of selfish machines? Now this could be because I don't pay attention, but I literally know their discography and not once have I ever noticed the reissue.

Obviously there is one and I know of it now, but my question is have you guys ever had some wacky moments like that?

like y'all won't believe what happened rn

i'm shaking as i type, i literally have tears in my eyes. just background info, i have prescription glasses, and the powers in my right and left eye are different and they both have both cylindrical and spherical lenses. and most of the prescription glasses that i have seen, have either cylindrical or spherical lenses(spherical being more common)

so i hope you understand my surprise.

i went to a local cafe with my friends today yk to have some fun after exams and to enjoy the holidays. we order some snacks and my friend A suggests that we like take some pictures before the food arrives. now, we take some pictures, I vividly remember wearing my glasses for some of the pictures. after we looked at the pictures we found out that my glasses were reflecting the light making me look somewhat like yk that anime light up glass person(i'm sorry idk the name for those)

So after we laughed about it, I TOOK OFF MY GLASSES AND PUT IT ON THE TABLE RIGHT NEXT TO MY WATER (MY FRIENDS SAW ME DOING THIS ISTG), and we took some more pictures we came back to our table and i took my glasses and put them on, as i'm putting them on i slide the frame behind my ear like every normal person, so imagine my surprise when i feel the frame touching something. and i like check my hair incase something was stuck on it. and. AND I FIND MY EXACT SMAE GLASSES RESTING ON TOP OF MY HEAD. omg im so scared that i'm about to cry. my friends and i were so scared that we canceled our order and left(that's how ik that they didn't prank me cuz there's no way we would have paid money and not eaten the food)

like we checked all the pictures and sure enough, the glasses were on my head (ISTG EVERY PERSON WITHOUT GLASSES CAN'T RELATE BUT I PROMISE I NEVER NEVER PUT MY GLASSES ON TOP OF MY HEAD, ITS JUST NOT AN HABIT)

and now i have two absolutely identical spectacles, with the same frame and the same power, i am so scared like idk what to do

is this my experience about the glitch in the matrix

Ok. Holly shit!!! HOLY SHIIIT. OK. So. I'm manifesting a bunch of things and I KNOW that we're changing from a reality to another all the time but. BUT. I have a comb. And this comb was always black since I can remember. So now I was brushing my teeth and I looked at the comb while doing it and the comb is DARK BLUE! There were always only this one black comb and an other grey one. I asked my roommate "is this the comb that was always here?" And she looked at me like I'm crazy and say "yes" and I said "but I thought it was black?" and she said "no,it was always dark blue"!

And now I'm shocked. Because I KNOW the comb was black. I know. I'm not crazy 🥲. This is the most crazy shit that ever happened to me and I just started to take manifestation and reality shifting seriously. I mean,WHERE AM I? 😅. What "reality" is this?

Ok,I just needed to tell someone because this is crazy. I've heard about this kind of things,and it makes sense,since you're manifesting you're shifting to a reality where you already have the thing you want,but damn, this is CRAZY! Now I'll look and see if there's any other change in my environment 🙂
