The other Thieves Den leader was atop a hill... standing still with- something? Was... was that their gear?

It was by their side in a sheath, a decorated leather sheath. They stood almost motionless, staring down at the faction below them, watching the clouds move by & the sun gently set.

The wind gently tickled them, making their long hair flow elegantly in the breeze. How beautiful they looked.

The realms have found peace and the era of bloodshed is over. But many have escaped judgment for the cruelties inflicted on those who stood against Virion and his soldiers dressed in red. Reprise your role as the main character from Crown of Exile and journey into the wilds in search of those who plot against the newly crowned King Irus and the stability of the realms. Your journey will be a difficult one, but together with a loyal steed and your wits for survival, you will set out to complete your task. Crowning Glory is a bonus game which is rated 17+ for violence, vulgar language and mentions of fictional war.

This game was previously only available to my Patrons but I figured that it'll be a while before I can continue working on it so for now, I'm releasing it to the public. Please note that the game is still very much in development and I'll likely post a completed version once the main game is completed. This is not a sequel to Crown of Exile but acts as a short game that takes place after the events of the main game (where the main goal of Irus reclaiming his throne succeeds).

I have a couple of questions for Uncle Sam,

Did you know General Gloryvand if you did how much of his comic book was accurate recounting of events?

Are you familiar with the super team The Force of July? They were created by a corrupt US politician and they're controversial enough I'm almost hesitant to call them superheroes. Some people think they were willing collaborators with their boss. Others think their ideology left them blind to actual reasons for his actions

US: Glory was the sad result of the US government trying to have a mystery man of their own they could keep under wraps. Me: We recently talked on my blog about something along similar lines with the Creature Commandos US: Something like that, yes. The rift between the US Government establishment and the Squadron was always larger than we let on to the public Me: Hoover specifically went to his grave frustrated on his total inability to dig up dirt on any of you. US: It was an understanding we had as comrades. We all trusted on another to the hilt, even if we never spoke as individuals. If you were Squadron, it made you blood, no questions asked. Me: No wonder they kept Glory under the radar US: Same reason they kept all their other "enhanced assets" under our radar. The moment we would have found out, we would have planted our feet and placed them under Squadron protection. As it was, Glory ended up getting batted around at the whims of the military command structure. Me: His missions were rather less...glorious than his comic books made them seem, from what I've read. US: It was a lot of skulking about on the western front, giving the hotfoot to nazi administration in France or the Low Countries. A lot of snapping necks in the dark. Me: Not exactly banner material US: And then after the war they all but brainwashed him and tossed him to the wolves. By the time he remembered who he was he was so jumbled in the head all he could do was make speeches. Me: He died of a heart attack not long after his reawakening US: Not many of us mystery men had the luck to be born immortal

US: I...recognize that the young men and women who called themselves the Force of July BELIEVED they were doing good. Me: Wow, I have seen cannons less loaded than that sentence. US: They operated under a spook organization called the American Security Agency. Me: One of those black cape organizations US: You could say it again, yes. The ASA was one of many secret projects meant to create superhuman agents under government control. Their motives were, as with any such group, ultimately jackbooted. Me: They wanted to launch a satellite into space that could spy on people's homes through their TV screens. They straight up called it Project Orwell US: Which was made by government agents ultimately above the Force of July's heads. That being said their unwillingness to question the motives of their handlers is a red flag by itself. Me: When they were directed against an outfit like the original Outsiders... US: That clinched it for all time in my mind Me: Oh yea? US: It's like I was saying before, an understanding in the community. If you're one of us, you get the benefit of the doubt. There's some layers of separation between me and them but I vouch for them on principle unless I know something untoward is going on. Me: Only some layers? US: Founded by Batman, Batman trained under Wildcat, I served with Wildcat. Me: Wow...Batman trained under Wildcat? US: *shrugs* Neither here nor there. Either way, the Force of July was a lot of very easily misled young people being sent out to do damage for an American establishment masquerading as an American ideal Me: Should have joined the military in that case US: No comment.

Glory is rearranging things in their semi-outdoor office, their second set of smaller insect arms flexing slightly as they move some things from their bamboo bookshelf.

Lanterns hang overhead, the furniture is made of bamboo & light colored woods, earthy & natural decor adorning the bookshelves & tables. There are weapons & other sharp objects displayed on the wall, & flora in the shape of the Thieves Den logo.

They don't seem to notice the other leader. Glory is also in a less casual 'mode', their blindfold off, being discarded on their desk.

Was there any controversy around the selection of Native heroine Owlwoman to be America's representative on the Global Guardians as opposed to either a more prominent American hero (like most of the JLA members), or a more explicitly patriotic hero (like, say General Glory or Major Victory)?

The crux of the question whenever you're asking a question like this is, controversial to WHOM.

Owlwoman certainly wasn't controversial to the Global Guardians when she joined their ranks. In order to be inducted as a Guardian you have to be sponsored by one of the team's existing members and be approved by a simple majority of that same membership after having been put forth as a candidate by your home nation. But how can this be? Certainly the United States wouldn't have chosen an obscure Native American heroine from rural Oklahoma when they could have appointed a much more prominent, much more "moderate" choice? Well that's the trick. Owlwoman wasn't put forth by the American government, in fact the American Congress has NEVER put forth ANY claims for membership to the Global Guardians. No, in fact Owlwoman was nominated by the Tribal Council of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. Which under the written letter of the Guardians' charter is entirely allowed. The Cherokee Nation are a national entity with recognized powers of sovereignty and a mandate from the public to act in their interests and Owlwoman accepted the nomination officially. She was sponsored directly by Dr. Mist for membership and received unanimous approval for the team, the only hero to have received either honor in the group's storied history.

Was her choice controversial with the rest of the American superhero community? Certainly not. Most of the core makeup of the Justice League have made it clear that they do not work directly for or from any government institution and in fact multiple "American" superheroes like Superman or Wonder Woman have spoken about the fact that they do not consider themselves beholden to America in specific. Superman said to the press that if nominated for Guardian's membership, he would turn the nomination down as he feels the gravity of his presence would be destabilizing to the team as a whole.

Personally Owlwoman is a trusted member of the superhero community. While her public presence is limited (as of writing she only has about 9000 followers on Twitter and less than half that on Instagram) she is seen as the direct link between the American superhero community and the Global Guardians, a link that places supreme importance upon her as a mark for other American heroes to follow when they travel abroad.

Was her acceptance controversial with the American establishment? Not really? The American establishment doesn't care about the Guardians to begin with and its not like Congress or the President is going to issue some official protest to an American citizen being unanimously accepted among their ranks unless they wanted to make it really, really textual that their problem with her was her ethnicity.

So we whittle ourselves down to the lowest common denominator. Was her nomination and acceptance controversial with the alt right, pseudo-fascist conspiracy set who already place the Guardians up there with the UN and the Rothschilds as some kind of blood drinking globalist conspiracy? Honestly, Who gives a fuck?
