Our Little Kenobi
Tumblr media
Request from @starvingbrokestudent Can you do a super sweet pregnancy fic with Obi Wan? Like the reader finds out she’s pregnant after fertility issues and Obi Wan is just so excited?! And how they try to keep it a secret from the council and eventually she has a baby boy?
This will be a mini series like you asked 😁
Rushing to the bathroom I didn't even get the chance to remove my lightsaber and my robe from my body because the sickness was coming on so quickly. Holding onto the toilet I puked what I had ate in my stomach feeling out of breath afterwards. This wasn’t the first time this had happened and it was the third time I had gotten sick. Wiping my hand across my mouth I gagged on the taste leaving the bathroom once I had finished. Finding my communicator out of my robe pocket I thought of the first person I could call who wouldn’t ask too many questions. “Padme, can you come to my room please?”
“Of course. Do you need anything specific?” She asked me appearing as a blue hologram.
Running my fingers through my hair with my freehand I whispered under my breath almost like somebody else was listening on the other side of the door. “Could you uh…could you bring me a pregnancy test. I can’t have the medical droids look I into this. They can’t keep a secret if there is something going on.”
“Sure, I’ll be right over.” She hung up the call making me more nervous just waiting for her to come over.
Pacing back and forth across the floor frantically trying to calm my nerves but it wasn’t working. This couldn't be happening to me. I was a Jedi knight and a leader of one of the clone armies. There was a war going on all on top of it. I heard three knocks on the door before I opened the door quickly. “Come in, Padme.”
“Here it is. Why exactly did you need one?” She asked and I knew that she would after she told me about her and Anakin sneaking around.
Taking it from her hands I went into the bathroom quickly doing the test since the waiting was killing me. Sitting on the toilet I just stared at the test in my hands thinking that my life was now screwed. “Padme, I'm going to be forced out of the order.” I croaked through tears feeling her presence in the doorway of the bathroom just watching me.
“I thought Jedi were encouraged to love. That's what Anakin told me.” She responded.
Lifting my head up I felt tears building up. “But you're sneaking around aren't you. It's exactly what me and Obi-Wan are doing…stars he's going to be upset over this.”
“Maybe he will want the baby.’ She tried being hopeful. “Wait a second I should be asking do you want it first?”
Dropping my gaze to the ground floor silence filled the entire room at that point. I didn't know how to answer her question. Being a member of the Jedi order meant that things like love, marriage, and children were out the window. Gripping my hair in my fingers I screamed dropping the pregnancy test on the floor at my feet. “I don't think I can do this, Padme. I can't…I'm not prepared to be a mother. I barely even remember my own parents after the council found me. And then there's Obi Wan…he…I have no clue what he will feel.”
“Have you ever talked about the possibility of having kids with him if you weren’t Jedi knights?” Padme came into the bathroom and sat down beside me on the floor.
Burying my face into my knees I croaked. “We took an oath, Padme. No marriage, no children, no possibilities of going to the Dark Side.”
“I’m sorry Y/n. But I am here for you and whatever you decide to do.” She placed a hand on my shoulder and we both just sat in silence with me thinking back to that night between Obi wan and I.
Opening the door, he walked towards the bed and dropped me down to the bed. My back hit the soft silk sheets before I rose up from the bed staring at him softly and brought a hand to his cheek stroking it softly. He leaned into my touch and brought my fingers to his lips, kissing them softly for a moment before releasing them. Standing tall, he lifted his shirt over his head and threw it to the ground. My heart began to beat for a second as I stared at him, my eyes directed down to his muscular chest, and blushed at the sight.
I averted my eyes with my hands covering them quickly and tried to contain my blush, he looked up at me and smirked at my reaction. “You don’t have to be embarrassed, Y/n. You can look if you want to.”
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do…have you ever done this before.” I pointed out to him where I peeked through my fingers for a split second.
My hands started to trace his form, I began to run his fingers up and down his muscular chest softly while I began to feel his hand start to crawl underneath my shirt. He yanked my shirt off my head, throwing it to the ground only once breaking the kiss until I was not able to not joke with him at least once. “Woah….you look just wow.”
He glanced down at my clothed beasts staring at them deeply before reaching behind my back and began to unclip the straps off and tear it off me in a split second. I gasped at him instantly reaching a hand to cover my breast, he let out a growl at them pushing my hands away. “ Don’t hide from me, my darling. You are perfect.”
He hovered over me and brought his lips down upon mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and embraced more into the kiss. I felt a hard rock positioned at my lower religion, he placed his member at my center and looked up at me. “My love, this may hurt for a few minutes, I promise I'll go slowly. We can do this together, the both of us. Since….I haven’t done this before either. Are you sure you want this, I'll stop if you're not ready.”
“I want you. I want you, Obi.“ I said, gripping the bed sheets in my fingers, never moving my gaze from his. “ Please just go gently.”
Obi wan nodded his head slowly brushing some hair out of my face just admiring my face in the small light that was provided by the bedside lamp. “I want you just as much as you want me.”
Within moments I felt the pain suddenly vanish and began to feel pleasure. I began to move against him and leaned up pressing my lips down upon his. He embraced me back instantly when my fingers dug into his back. And that was the most enjoyable night of our lives.
I decided after a few days later to finally tell him what was happening. He deserved to know the situation so that we could figure out what to do next together. Standing out of his door I sucked in a shaky breath raising my fist and knocking three times on his door where it opened slowly for him to greet me. “Y/n, what can I do for you?”
“We need to talk…alone. If you have some time before our council meeting.” I almost whispered under my breath before he allowed me to come inside.
He shut the door behind himself, raising a brow. “What is going on, darling?”
“Did you remember the night we shared together? Well something I thought wouldn’t happen ended up actually happening.” Fiddling with my fingers in front of me I lowered my gaze to the ground trying to not show how terrified I was.
Obi wan was a much sharper Jedi then I thought I was though when he takes a few steps towards me. “Y/n, if something is making you nervous you can tell me. You know that right. So what is bothering you?”
“Obi, please don’t be upset. I already don’t know what I am going to do with the result. I can’t handle it if you rat me out and abandon me.” I lifted my head showing him my face was turning red with heavy tears coming down my cheeks.
Obi touched my shoulders, shifting his blue orbs down to my eyes. “Darling, please tell me what is wrong. I can’t help you if you don’t tell me.”
“I….I’m pregnant.” I croaked out lowering my head into his chest sobbing. “I’m pregnant with your child.”
The Jedi master froze for a moment so unsure of what to say. He was in the same position as yourself. He knew that the council wouldn’t allow you to remain in the temple. Yet he slowly wrapped his arms around my waist holding me gently letting silence fill the room until he finally separated the hug. “I’m not going to leave you, Y/n.”
“Wait what…are you being serious?” I sniffed clinging onto the fabric of his brown cloak for strength and his arms were still around my waist holding me close to his embrace.
He moved one hand to cradle the side of my face feeling me lean into his palm when he replied longingly. “I said I won’t leave you because you're pregnant. I know the risks that it means for us. But I’d be the biggest idiot if I left you over something we both consented too.”
“You have no idea how much of a relief that is to hear you say that, Obi wan.” I chuckled through tears with such relief off my shoulders as I fling my arms around his neck hugging him tightly but gently.
He tightened his grip around my waist, burying his face into my loose hair. His heart skipped a beat at the realization that he would be a father, he was terrified since he didn’t remember his own much. Yet there was more joy in his mind than fear. “I have been considering this for a long time. I guess you finally gave me the courage to do so…”
“What are you talking about…omg.” I gasped covering my mouth watching him lower himself down on one knee directly before me.
He revealed a tiny black box from inside his brown robe, opening it showing me a simple silver ring that had three jewels in the middle of it. His bright blue eyes poured up into mine. “Y/n, I love you. I know that we are told not to get attached to one another but I couldn’t help it. You are everything that I never knew I wanted until we started spending time together. This baby doesn’t want me to run away from all of that. It makes me want to stay by your side even more. So will you marry me?”
“Oh Obi Wan….yes.” I giggled letting him slide the ring on my finger getting to his feet. He cupped my face in his hands kissing me for the first time in a few days. I leaned up on my toes kissing him back.

i’m teetering back and forth between how helaemond was dealt with in the finale.
on one hand, i hate that they made him go there and yank her around. it’s not what i consider the same domestic abuse as daemyra, but it’s a form of abuse that is expected when a man descending into madness from trauma, power, grief, and the hunger to be good enough. he tried to drag her in a fit of rage and then the next time she threatened him with accusations and told him of his death, he couldn’t even bring himself to show the same rage.
i never expected helaemond to be healthy, because incest is NEVER healthy. but i feel like with the way they’ve been treating aemond this season to seem like the true villain of team green, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. like i love toxic pairings, but this just isn’t something natural for aemond to do, so it feels disappointing. it’s just there to reinforce that aemond is now the big bad and everyone else on team green aren’t as bad compared to him now. helaena is by the general audience’s opinion the purest character, so to have aemond hurt her feels like a way to hammer that home to the audience. not organic at all, not something in his character, just there.
which is why i’m thankful ewan played into helaemond in that moment on the balcony. aemond seems to regret what he did and the only time he’s shown properly crying is when he’s begging her to come with him. trying to appeal to the fact that they are same blood, that they understand each other when others might not. it’s acted and written like a proposal to fuck off to the ends of the earth together, phantom of the opera, anakin and padme, and gothic romance and all. and even when helaena refuses he still is crying, giving paper thin threats that he doesn’t mean, but just because he’s hurt by her rejection.
Tumblr media
istg that balcony scene was perfect imo, in the sense that if it was just written a little bit better and didn’t have the looming connotation that aemond is mr villainous prototype used to make everyone who loved aemond from s1 feel humiliated for loving him and poke fun at helaemonds for enjoying their pairing. and now aegon is being propped up for god knows what, whitewashed in the sense that he’s given more development than aemond, helaena, and more characters above all. like nothing is coming from this, i don’t expect the writers to touch upon helaemond and that scene going forward whatsoever. it all felt like a way to get aemond stans to finally turn against him and to make helaemonds feel bad for enjoying the pairing to the point of making it popular. i’d say helaemond deserved better, but truly the entirety of the characters and the show itself deserved better.
so in the end, i may ship helaemond out of spite for what feels like a slap, simply because ewan delivered so hard for it. and i might not, because my efforts feel just so dull and fruitless that idk if i have the will to carry this energy and love for something that went so so wrong. it feels like got s8 where i needed time to recuperate and process everything before deciding what i wanted to take from it as a fan.

Fall and Rise
This is another not really a fix-it, though it does fix some things. It is important to know, going in, that the Creche was slowly emptied throughout the war. The children were grouped by species and hidden with creche masters in the most difficult to reach places for each species (deep underwater on worlds non aquatic species had a hard time for the aquatic species, A mountains world for Avian species and so forth), following an indistinct warning in the Force, so there were only a handful of children (the ones that did not need specialized environment) and two crechmasters left in the temple at the time of Order 66. It is also important to know that Anakin/Vader did not kill the remaining children, though he still marched on the temple and killed everyone else. In this universe the children were just a step too far.
He orders the children not to be harmed and taken off Coruscant. The security tapes cut out before that point so no one knows what happened to the children later.
To set the stage we have an Obi Wan who is on the very edge of falling, vacillating wildly between duty and his attachment (to Anakin, to Cody, to his men). In another world, the death of the children tipped the scales, forcing Obi Wan past his blind spot where Anakin is concerned. Even watching the march on the temple, without the added horror of the children being slaughtered, Obi Wan is left with the feeling that Anakin must have had a good reason for what he did (he is thinking the same of the Clones).
Yoda, who has just as big a blind spot for Obi Wan as Obi Wan has for Anakin, still sends Obi Wan after Anakin.  He doesn’t seem to perceive where Obi Wan is, mentally, just presumes that the younger Jedi would do his duty.
Padme still ends up confronting Anakin on Mustafar, Obi Wan still ends up stowing away. But before Anakin can lash out at Padme, Obi Wan (still flickering between the light and the dark) makes himself known. And instead of fighting Obi Wan is asking him what’s going on, and if Anakin knows what happened to the Clones. If he knows if there is a way to fix it.
This manages to derail the confrontation as both Padme and Anakin stare at the Jedi Master literally begging Anakin for answers.  Anakin doesn’t know what changed about the Clones and answers thus.
It should be noted that both Anakin and Obi Wan kind of assume that whatever happened, overwrote the clones for lack of a better term. They do not know, or do not make the connection, to the chips. So they assume that who the Clones were before Order 66 is gone, forever.
The idea that his men are lost forever, on top of the death and the darkening of his bond to Anakin, drops Obi Wan into the Dark(in another world it took Anakin slaughtering the younglings for Obi Wan to fall on the side of duty and even then he could not strike the final blow). He does not become a Sith, no that takes an additional deliberate atrocity (Which is why Canon Anakin did not become a Sith with his first genocide), but he does fall into darkness. This has the weird effect of drawing Anakin back toward the light, partly because of shock.
It is not difficult for Padme and a Fallen Obi Wan to convince Anakin to come with them. On the way off planet Padme goes into labor. She still dies in childbirth, and through handwaving plot related reasons our fallen duo know that Palpatine is behind her death.
Now our half fallen duo are left with twins, Padme’s corpse, and the knowledge that Palpatine is very much their enemy. They are also faced with the realization that they are about to be forced into roles they are not comfortable with.
Because they can agree on two things, they need more information and the new Emperor cannot know about the twins. Anakin is the only one who can go undercover (the undercover part being that he still follows the emperor), find out what is happening and potentially kill Palpatine. Obi Wan is used to being at the center of every fight, the front lines…but he is the only one who Anakin trusts with the twins and there is only one place they can go, one place that they can hide…Tatooine. They reason that if no one knew Anakin, the little powerhouse that he has always been, existed until after he left Tatooine, then something about the planet must hide force sensitives. They also decide to send the younglings with him.
Knowing that Anakin is still able to order the clones, or whoever they are now, Obi Wan asks that Cody be sent with him. He is just selfish enough to want the man with him, even if he is not the same as he was.
So Anakin goes back under the pretense of being Vader; and he did slaughter everyone in the temple, save those handful of younglings. He brings back Padme’s corpse, looking pregnant, and visibly grieves.  He knows nothing of Yoda’s continued survival, the budding rebellion, or survivors of Order 66 going to ground. His focus is to find out what is going on with the clones and destroy the emperor (Made harder by the fact that Palpatine is not an idiot, he no longer meets in person with Anakin after Padme’s death). While doing this he very carefully tries to undermine the Empire (If he can get away with it, releasing prisoners and blaming it on the officers. Fouling up campaigns, but only in ways that will not see his people punished) and he thinks he is being subtle but he isn’t (Again the Emperor is not an idiot and Anakin is not all that good at being subtle, but it is amusing the Emperor to go along with it).
Obi Wan takes the younglings, the twins, and Cody (mostly personalityless at this point. He has been ordered by Anakin to treat this as a deep cover mission, and that Obi Wan was not a traitor. He has also been ordered to follow Obi Wan’s lead) to Tatooine. They are not quite as good at going under the radar as canon Obi Wan, but quickly establish a small compound in the Jutland wastes and a ‘Don’t fuck with us’ reputation. Once every six months a call is made to Anakin, letting him see his children.  Over time Cody begins to develop a personality again, not quite the same as his Order 66 self, but close enough that he and Obi Wan grow into a romantic relationship.
Five years in there is an incident with the Hutts that makes staying on Tatooine impossible. Neither Anakin or Obi Wan know about the chips, but Anakin has long realized that he could get the clones acting something like themselves if it is for an ‘undercover mission’. So he sends the 212th to pick up Obi Wan and Co. The ‘mission’ the 212th is given is to pick up their commanding officers and ‘defect’ running around the outer rim and wild space until Obi Wan has finished ‘collecting evidence’.
Given time and the space all of the clones, like Cody, begin to develop their own personalities again.  Part of the chips has, for lack of a better term, disconnected them from their previous memories and experiences but did not touch the ability to make new memories and develop personalities based on their new experiences (given the opportunity, which most Imperial clones were not, the 501st and the 212th being exceptions). Cody, for the most part, is so similar to earlier self because Obi Wan unconsciously treated him as Cody.
Another five years pass before the rebellion finally gets someone in to see Vader. This someone is codename: Fulcrum.  They had realized fairly early on that Vader was not as committed to the empire as he seemed (In that he would release prisoners any time he could get away with it. A few Rebels have stories of Vader dropping a datastick, with good intel, looking down at it meaningfully, looking at the hiding rebel, then deliberately directing his troops in the opposite direction) but also that, like any other undercover agent, he will kill Rebels if he needs to maintain his cover.
So Ahsoka finally gets to see Anakin after almost a decade. Anakin is ecstatic because he believed that she and Rex had been killed. They have a frank conversation about the fact that Anakin did actually fall, and what he was still doing with the Empire (He was bound and determined to kill the emperor, but hadn’t had the chance yet).  At some point the talk turns to the clones and Ahsoka asks how many of them have been dechipped.
Anakin asks, very quietly “What?”
A room two corridors away may have exploded as Ahsoka explained about the chips, what they do, how to detect them, and that they can be removed.  Anakin promptly starts with the medics in dechipping the 501st. They found pretty quickly that some clones woke up with no memories at all, some woke up with nothing past half an hour prior to Order 66, some wake up just as they were before the surgery except they no longer felt compelled to follow orders, a handful remained in a vegetative state, and a very few woke up with both sets of memories (and trying to integrate the disparate personalities that went along with having two very different set of memories).
After the process has been tested Anakin packages up the information and sends it to Obi Wan.
Obi Wan reads through the information and carefully presents it to the 212th (phrased to not set off ‘they are traitors’ and get everyone into a bigger mess). He then gives every clone a choice, to remove the chip or not.  If it had been at the beginning, when they were all so mechanical, then he would have simply had them dechipped, but it had been ten years and these men had become individuals all over again. Obi Wan was selfish enough to want his people with him, he was not selfish enough to force them to have brain surgery on the off chance the personality he remembered would wake up (and really even if there was 100% chance, they deserved to decide).
Some decide to remain chipped, knowing what it meant (The ones that remained chipped would not be able to use the communications array, for fear of receiving some order that would do them all harm. They would also be watched and sequestered away from nat borns when needed). Boil, in particular, knew he had lost someone in the war and had still been grieving Waxer when the Order had gone out.  He did not want to potentially wake up in the middle of that grieving all over again.
Cody thinks about it. He thinks about it for a long time. He is not the same person he had been during the war, Obi Wan had admitted that early on. He didn’t know, as there was no one left to tell him, if he had loved Obi Wan during the war. And if he did, if that version would love this version of Obi Wan (Obi Wan was still suspended between the dark and the light, and was not the same man he had been before Order 66) There was no way to tell which version of him, or another blank slate, would wake up. He might lose all the memories of his children (the twins and the younglings, plus a dozen other children they had found over the years who needed a home). Would the morals he had during the war even fit in their family? On the other hand, the chip meant he could be controlled (This version of Cody could not think the Emperor would abuse that power, but could admit that there were those who would).
During this reflection, Obi Wan is waiting patiently to one side.  Even though the length of their relationship would normally give him the right to an opinion in such a large change, even if he didn’t get a vote, in this he felt he could not give an opinion. In part because it would read as an order to the chip. He is Dark enough not to feel guilty about the past 10 years (Realistically, no matter how he felt about Cody or how slow their relationship went, he has almost a decade in a relationship with a man who was not capable of saying no. There was a good chance that the chip caused some or all Cody's feelings, rationalizing Obi Wan’s desires as his own). He is Light enough to ensure that Cody gets to make his choice as free of Obi Wan’s influence as possible.
Finally, Cody says, “If the chip stays I will always be a danger to our children.”
Obi Wan can’t argue that. If it had been just him, he likely would have been willing to risk it to have Cody for sure, even with the danger. But the children would be in danger.
Cody decides to have the chip taken out, he could not let himself become even a potential danger to his children.
They spend one last day together, all of them, before the surgery. Both Obi Wan and Cody are careful to explain what was going on (there were a total of 15 children ranging from young adults to 5 years old) and what might happen. That Cody, no matter what, would always love them. Even if he didn’t know it. But he would rather never wake up again rather than being any kind of danger to them.
Obi Wan and Cody also spent that last night holding each other. Neither are willing or able to offer a reassurance that might prove false. It is the right thing, taking the chip out, choosing freedom. But they both felt like they were sacrificing something, sacrificing happiness, and it hurt.
The operation is a success and Cody does wake. He is lucky as he wakes up with both sets of memories, and he is unlucky in that he is emotionally disconnected from both.  Like he remembers loving his children but does not feel it at first (Though he very quickly comes to love them again).  And he remembers how deeply he loved his brothers, Pre Order 66 (after they were friends and comrades but not brothers in the same way), but can’t connect that to a feeling. And both versions loved Obi Wan, but the memories do not contain the feelings.
And he spends a fair amount of time trying to figure out who he is, with all these memories playing like a movie but with no emotional connection. And he is trying to figure out if he loves Obi Wan, or if it was the chip, and even if he did love Obi Wan, could he reconcile who the man was with who he is.
And Obi Wan is trying, ok. He is trying to be happy that at least their children didn’t lose their Cody. He is trying to not put any pressure on Cody while he is figuring out who he is, but he forgets sometimes that he is not currently allowed to flirt, or touch with intent (Unfortunately Cody’s body remembers Obi Wan very well, so he will reciprocate before either realizes it). So it is awkward and even as they begin to fall in love for the third time there is a constant ‘do they really feel that or is a remnant of before’ from both of them. By the time that all of the 212th that were interested in having their chips removed, had them removed (It takes about three months and is 95% of the 212th), they realize they have been sharing a bed again for a week.
After the great dechipping, Obi Wan reaches back out to Anakin to get in contact with the Rebellion.  At some point they start talking about the dechipping and Obi Wan says that everyone who chose to have it removed has, and he would be looking into how to shut off the compulsion to obey for the rest, about 25 clones (taking into account potential size of the 212th, less potential losses in the 5 years they were full with the empire).
Anakin blinks a bit and goes ‘you're letting them choose’. Everyone listening just kind of sighs deeply (Though they have no way to track it yet, actively choosing to have the chip removed increases the chance of having one or both sets of memories, and decreases the full amnesia and vegetative reactions). All of the 501st have been dechipped. About half of the remaining clones have been dechipped and are carefully being coached so that the actions are not being noticed (By this point Anakin has actually learned something that resembles subtlety, so they are fooling everyone, including the emperor). With the help of the Rebellion, they have reached out to some of the clones that were dechipped clone medics who are able to go undercover to speed up the removal. One of the last full groups left is Palpatine’s personal guard, the remnants of the Coruscant Guard, and it is nearly impossible to get someone, even another clone, in there for enough time to dechip anyone.
Because of the nature of freeing the clones, the 26 clones from the 212th are the only ones who have been given the choice of remaining chipped, but some members of the rebellion have been trying to research a way to shut off the compulsion to obey from all of their still chipped brothers.  This means that those 26, representing the only free clones with chips, were a valuable resource for. The dechipped clones (and Obi Wan) never let anyone forget that the chipped clones were also people. The Rebellion never intentionally forgets that but, for the older members, there is an awful lot of trauma surrounding the rise of the Empire and the trauma wears the face of the chipped clone troopers (Particularly if they were Jedi or Jedi adjacent). For the younger they are used to the Chipped troopers being very robotic (who would shoot anyone without hesitation upon being ordered to), as very few outside of the 501st and the 212th were given the opportunity to develop a personality in the post Order 66 world.
There is just…so much trauma. On both sides. Outside of the 212th, who all actually get it (because they all thought about what it meant to have the chips removed, and how tempting it was to have everything remain as it was, chips included), everyone looks at those 26 clones in askance at wanting to remain chipped.  Eventually a way to deactivate only the compulsion to obey and the active Order 66 parts of the chips is discovered. It is a specific multilayered frequency, and once it is discovered there is a mission undertaken to to have this frequency broadcasted throughout the galaxy.
Palpatine’s personal guard, still led by Fox, are alone in the room with Palpatine  when the compulsion shuts off. It is telling that without any memory, with barely any of their old personality and no new ones, the first act of all the clones in the room once the compulsion fades is to shoot Palpatine until the charges run out on their blasters. There was no malice, no anger, and no hesitation. Palpatine was a cunning, powerful Sith. There is no doubt. But even he trusted the obedience of the clones, trusted the chips that have made them his for the last 10 years, that does breed a certain amount of complacency. Without the malice or anger, there is nothing for the Force to pick up on before they start firing.
There were 50 clones with the Emperor at all times, spread throughout whatever space he was. They always had the most up to date equipment, as their only charge was to protect the Emperor by any means necessary. The newest model of blaster can fire continuously, a rate of 5 bolts per second, for precisely 86 minutes (though the power of those bolts will drop significantly after 60 minutes, then continue at a steady decline of halving the power every ten bolts after that point).
Palpatine held off the blaster bolts for an impressive 20 minutes and 6 seconds; it took all of his power so he could not go on the offense. In that time he held off a total of 301,500 blaster bolts fired by 50 clones (All accurate without the chips suppressing some of their skills). Even after the Emperor fell to the floor, dead, the clones kept firing (Though no one will ever know, Fox was the one who fired the shot that killed the Emperor). Forty minutes in, someone calls Lord Vader, because there was a noise, there is now a blackened smoking corpse, the clones are still firing (in total silence, which somehow makes it creepier) and no one can find the Emperor (no one actually thinks the smoking corpse is the Emperor and until the clones stop firing, no one can check).
Anakin, with his 501st, arrives at the Imperial Center and into the throne room 84 minutes later.  At 86 minutes all of the blasters stop firing at once and the room seems dimmer for a moment. The only thing Fox says is that he thought that would be more satisfying than it was.
It takes 6 hours, three inquisitors, 7 different mops, and what had to be a misuse of the force to scrape enough of the corpse up for testing. That testing confirms that the Emperor was now dead (Anakin will have to live forever with the disappointment that he did not get to decapitate the Emperor personally, though they eventually let him take a single swing with his lightsaber at the bucket holding the remains to stop him from pouting). The Emperor did not build his empire to outlast him, there is no succession.  No one is even sure if the imperial senate, the inquisitors, or anyone has the power to take charge.  The closest thing they have is Anakin who, having not been rotting his brain with constant pain and hatred for a decade, decidedly wants nothing to do with ruling.  He doesn’t know what he wants, since his only goal for 10 years was to kill the Emperor, but he does know, not that (He barely remembers he has children at this point, also they are ten years old and have had different parents for those ten years).
Once they find out that Obi Wan is still alive, some of the Senate try to tag him in to help fix things. His ‘Fuck no’ is mostly polite, at first. The second is a little more emphatic. The third comes accompanied by the severed limb of the asker. When the fourth came complete with one of the heads of the asker (the species had two heads, so survived, but severely maimed) everyone decided to leave him on his own. He, the clones (as many as wanted to, which most did), and the children retreated to a planet in wild space. Over time other survivors of Order 66, including Yoda, found their way toward their planet. Most didn’t stay (I cannot emphasize enough how much trauma there is for all parties, and sometimes even knowing that the clones were not in control of themselves at the time of Order 66 is not enough) but some did.
Anakin does come around frequently, he eventually goes on to be a mechanic for Hondo Ohnaka’s crew, but can’t stay in one place.  He becomes something of an uncle to all of Obi Wan’s children (including the twins). He never gets romantically involved again, as no one ever measures up to Padme in his mind (Also the few times he tries his partner tells him his actions, behaviors, and beliefs about relationships are really unhealthy, he just takes that as confirmation that Padme was the only one for him).  Ironically he is the one who will eventually introduce Leia to Han, and facilitate their elopement.
After a number of years of hard work Bail and Breha Organa get enough of a structure in place to try and fix things. Breha ends up Empress for about 8 years before they can transition back to a Republic. Though it is built better in many ways, there always feels like there is something missing, because they built it with a place for the Jedi. And the Jedi are, by and large, gone.  What is left won’t fit in the place made for the Jedi of old.
Ahsoka stays with the Rebellion as Bail Organa restructures it to take the power of the empire.  She both understands, but also judges Obi Wan and Anakin for leaving the Empire to its own mess.  She is a half trained war padawan, and the closest thing that the galaxy has to a traditional Jedi (even Yoda is so so done, he barely leaves Dagobah and feels that the Jedi died on the day of Order 66, as he had no idea that there was ever hope in the form of Luke Skywalker), most of the wisdom and traditions of her people are gone, and due to her upbringing she missed out on many of them. She does her best to recreate it.  She is moderately successful, gathering force sensitive younglings to teach, finding a temple (Not the one on the newly renamed Coruscant) to teach them at. She is even able to find a few teachers in the wandering Jedi, the immortals that wander the Galaxy following the Force. She has a leg up on Canon Luke, as she actually lived as a Jedi (instead of getting the 4 month crash course and saying it is good).  It will take generations for Jedi to find their footing enough to take part in the Republic fully again. On that day Yoda, still living on Dagobah and coming to the temple every few decades, will feel something in the Force settle. And he will travel to Coruscant for the last time to join the Force in what was once the Coruscant temple.
Obi Wan and Cody, almost against their will, become leaders on the planet they settle on (after they pass into the Force it is named Kencody after them both).  They both are just a bit too efficient at leading not to be tagged in. It is much more low key than the leadership positions from the past (mostly part time). Much more willingly they start something like an orphanage, providing a safe place for children of all ages, races, and all types of Force abilities. Many parents with force sensitive children, who don’t wish to give them up to Ahsoka’s Jedi, will move to the area around their orphanage, so that their children can still be taught. Cody never quite regains his emotional connection to the memories he made from before his chip was removed but he was able to make many new memories with his surviving brothers.

Alright 3rd and final Star Wars take of the day that is probably pretty lynchworthy:
Echo should have died/already been dead in the Bad Batch arc in s7. Sorry guys, I love Echo too, but the story would have worked better if he was already dead when they got there.
Like there's a lot of things that could have made this arc better in general that I'm not going to really get into here without touching on the character design or whitewashing and racism around the clones (which many much more qualified people have talked about way more eloquently than I ever could). Like the fact that this arc should have been a Cody&Rex arc rather than writing Cody out so early in or the weirdly dismissive way the writers treated the other characters in order to lift tbb up when they could have just. Not done that. Really very easily.
But specifically the Echo thing: as soon as Rex finds out the possibility that Echo might still be alive, he is immediately ready to jump in with both feet without looking, and Anakin cautions him that they might not find Echo alive and he needs to prepare himself for the possibility that they can't save him. This has huge overall narrative implications, because we, the viewers, know that in a few weeks time he is going to turn his back on the people who love and trust him and betray everything he's ever sworn to stand for bc he is worried about the possibility of not being able to save Padme.
Now Rex goes with tbb and Anakin on a rescue mission that might not be a rescue mission. Tbb are still being very dismissive of the "regs" and Rex, quite understandably, is not handling their attitudes very well.
They get there, it's a trap and so on and so forth, but here's the important part: they don't find Echo alive. The Techno Union found him after the Citadel arc and mined his brain for data through hand wavy star wars means and they had no need to preserve anything else or keep him alive after that.
The rescue mission is too late and they never had the chance to save Echo at all. And Rex breaks. He holds it together for long enough to complete the mission, they escape the Techno Union and protect the village, but once they get back on the ship and head back towards Anaxes, he just shatters. Full on sobbing on the floor devastated bc he was so sure he could save Echo. He was so hopeful that he could save this one person after everything. After Fives and Tup and Ahsoka walking away and Kadavo and Umbara he just wanted to be able to save one person that he cared about. And they were already way too late.
We can see Anakin faced with all of this and the shadow of his future actions that he will do so that he will not have to deal with his own potential grief. We can see the paralells between Rex doing everything in his power to have the possibility of saving his brother and Anakin taking extreme steps to have the possibility of saving his wife.
The shadow of RotS hangs over the entire arc and this then makes the scene with Admiral Trench hit so much harder. Because it's not just the warning of how far Anakin has already fallen, its the spectre of the future hanging over his shoulder in more ways than one, the way that throughout the arc you can see his resolve to never lose Padme hardening so he never has to face that grief.
On the other end of things, tbb are faced with Rex's very real and present grief for Echo and have to acknowledge the love and care that the other clones have for each other. They get to grow as characters and learn to respect the grief of the "regs" bc there is a shared kinship there, they do share more than they don't, and they are all horribly aware of just how easily it could have been them. The arc can end with them learning to respect the other clones and finding a closer kinship with them rather than returning to the status quo just with Echo as a member and they sort of like Rex now. Not only would that have made them more relatable as characters but could have set up a much better conflict for the future in their show rather than the weird thing with Crosshair that we did get and them still not really connecting with any of the other clones in a show centred on the clones.
Like, let the characters fail. Let them lose. Let them have succeeded in their mission without having it be a victory. Let it be bittersweet. S7 is already bittersweet. We know what is coming. We know how close it is. The shadow of it looms over every single interaction in this season. So don't shy away from it. Lean into the shadow of Anakin's choices, lean in to the paralells that you're writing in, let the events have meaning and impact and consequences like so much of the rest of the show.

Hi I’ve started a new Fic there’s probably many in this style but I wanted to write my own. It’s kind of a rewrite of revenge of the sith, with the reader as padme instead. You can swap Y/N to padme if you prefer.
Anyway please enjoy. Would appreciate any feedback the below is only what I’ve written so far. Hope to continue this for fun. Any feedback is welcome. Part 1 is 866 words.
Warnings - Not sure there are any yet
There Is Good In Him
Precognition was no stranger to Anakin, often his dreams predicted the worst of fates. Tonight would no different.
He had just finished his mission, which had been rather successful. Anakin saved Chancellor Palpatine from the evil and only known Sith Lord Count Dooku and was on his way to becoming a master. He hoped he would be the youngest master to date considering he was the chosen one. His pride was always worn on his sleeve and he’d become especially cocky when he did things right. Obi-Wan had tried many times to help Anakin through his urges and feelings. With constant reminders of the ‘Jedi way’ It just didn’t ever seem to stick. Anakin was getting stronger, sure but his feelings were too intense. Between hurt, anger and dare I say it love. He needed to remember these things himself to be centred and balanced.
They had finally made it back to Coruscant. After hours of gruelling Jedi business, Anakin stood on the Jedi shuttle with a smile on his face. The grin of accomplishment. The shuttle soon reaches the Senate office building where Palpatine, R2, and Anakin step off. He turns on his heel to see that Obi-Wan was still standing in the doorway.
“Are you coming Master?” Anakin asks.
Obi-Wan and Anakin banter back and forth with Obi-Wan congratulating Anakin for being a hero and pushing for him to go bask in the glory and praise from the politicians. Anakin doesn’t take much sway as he goes to do just that. Obi-Wan heads to the council to report back the death of Dooku and the escape of General Grievous.
While Anakin walks the long hallway to the senate hall. He engages in conversation with Bail Organa. They were hashing over details contributing to this long war when he senses your presence. It was like something in the air was carrying your scent towards him. A gravitational pull colliding your atoms with one another. The Force was strong and it was with him. You looked to see him scanning the room. Bingo, he thought when his senses picked you up hiding behind a large column.
“Excuse me,” Anakin says to the senator.
He stands still for a second watching the senators move forward at a medium pace. That’s when he makes a beeline straight for you. His arms opened wide and embraced your body against him. His lips find yours and you are so relieved he is back and he is safe.
Your reunion is short-lived but you get just enough time to tell him the most wonderful news. He was cautious at first before an overwhelming response.
“Ani… I’m pregnant..” you announce.
“That’s … that’s wonderful.” He responds.
“What are we going to do?” You ask nerves appearing. You were careful to hide it this long. Saying it out loud made it so real.
“ We’re not going to worry about anything right now. Alright? This is a happy moment Y/N. The happiest moment of my life.” He says this sincerely and you know it to be true. He lifts a finger to your chin propping it up to kiss you deeply.
Once the kiss had broken Ani put his forehead to yours and looks you in the eyes.
“ I’ll see you later in the Apartment?” Anakin questions but it’s more like a statement.
You nod. Reaching for his hand the last touch just being a brush of your fingertips. He smiles that specific smile that is only meant for you and walks briskly onto the theatre.
Hours later.
The day was done and the sun had set. You and Anakin were at your apartment in your bed.
You were fast asleep one arm under the pillow and an arm cradling your small baby bump.
Anakin was also asleep. Dreaming or maybe the opposite of a dream. Doubt and guilt had begun seeping out of the inner cracks within his mind. Count Dookus's headless body haunts him in a scarily vivid image. Anakin couldn’t help but recall every second of the events that had transpired. Something wasn’t right. Dooku was quite the brave man. Yet he cowered under the heat of the laser blades beneath his neck, eyes fixed towards Palpatine as if he were awaiting a signal. His eyes widened when Palpatine had instructed Ani to ‘do it.’ Dooku’s head rolled across the floor. This was the start of all the manipulation…
Amongst the guilt-ridden Images were pictures of you. Your skin was flushed and tears rolled down your cheek you were screaming and in pain.
“Anakin, help me! Help, Anakin! Anakin I love you. I love you…” he heard you screaming for him.
In his head, it was so loud and the sound of the shrieks couldn’t be dampened. He awoke quickly in a cold sweat. Bolting up to see you asleep next to him your breathing peaceful and skin soft. He brushes your cheek before getting up and heading to the living room. It is there he begins to tear up and recall how he had the same kind of dreams when his mother was dying. He got angry. He couldn’t stop her death how was he going to stop yours?

Star Wars Characters + their signature Burlesque songs
This is going to be mostly Clone Wars + Bad Batch era characters in this specific post.
Links are available by clicking the song title.
Clone Wars
Obi-Wan Kenobi | “Feeling Good” Muse
The original version of “Feeling Good” is one of the go-to songs for burlesque, it in a lot of ways, it mimics classic big-band cabaret showgirl tunes. Obi-wan has a lot of respect for tradition and those who came before him but he’s also his own jedi and deviates where he wants to. This cover by muse has that element of showy, flirty-ness and the flaunt of a song that can hold its own. The tradition of the brass overlaid with more pop-rock elements mean Obi-Wan can showgirl parade and peel to his heart’s content.
Anakin Skywalker | “I See Red” Everyone Loves an Outlaw
The lyrics are about cheating but the overall theme of this song is about being betrayed by loved ones. This could work for the fix-it timeline where he feels betrayed by someone he thought was a friend (Palpatine) or canon where he’s feeling betrayed by the order. It’s an angry, broody strong with a lot of strong beats and would mimic Anakin’s aggressive fighting, and sparks of wrath. We’re talking a LOT of very assertive, physical dance here.
Padme Amidala | “My Strongest Suit” Aida
This song is about fashion being a woman’s strongest asset, literally its in the musical. I can see Padme doing this as a tongue-and-cheek number because she gets teased for her prolific wardrobe as a Queen and Senator. Everyone knows she’s a powerhouse and this ballad, even tongue-and-cheek- is a BALLAD. The audience is going to worship at the altar of this high-energy strip-tease. And the costumes? Oh, they are encrusted in rhinestones.
Mace Windu | “Bad News” Melody Gardot
This is very in-line with classic lounge-style burlesque. Mace likes it because its slow and he has four + a half-minutes of the audience’s time and he uses them rolling around the stage floor with a thickass purple boa, eye fucking people and they thank him for the gift of that.
Cody | “You Make My Dreams” Hall & Oates
This act was created for one person, and one person only, others get to see it by the grace of the force. Obi-Wan has never missed a performance of it, which is good because Cody spends a majority of his time flirting with the man while casually whipping around tribute fans with impressively playful precision. It’s kinda like watching a bird do a courtship dance for his mate but with body shimmer.
Rex | “Lost Without” Shane Guerrette
Rex heard this song in a cantina in the middle of nowhere and that was the first time anyone knew the man had rhythm. The raspy, vintage-feel, simple chords, and easy percussion with a vocals that have a brass-like quality mean he’s going to toe the line of flirty classic tease, and sultry slow-burn. He’ll be in the audience, flirting and soaking up their attention before he saunters back to the stage to do floorwork that is hotter than sex..
Fives | "Betty (Get Money)” Yung Gravy
If you don’t expect this from that absolute sentient shit-post of a vod, I’ve got news for you: He does it dressed like a Chippendale’s Dancer and always loses his merkin.
Bly | “Mr. Sandman” SYML
This is a song about longing and we know how Bly feels about his Jedi. This is a soft cover, beautiful, elegant. It’s not a tease, its a tribute. I can see some beautiful fanwork happening, a lot of peel-cover-reveal. The choreo is slow but the audience is enthralled.
Fox | “Smooth” Santana, Rob Thomas
Fox chose this song because it was playing at 79s and he liked how easy it was to dance to. He likes to slide back and forth between a raunchy bump n’ grind with some hits and just holding the stage and staring down the audience while dragging a piece of clothing. At least once during the bridge when he’s in the audience, he steals someone’s drink and downs it.
Wolffe | “Teeth” Lady Gaga
The Tempo of this song is very driving, very authoritative but the lyrics are  assertive yet dirty which Wolffe would appreciate. He’d bump n’ grind the hell out of this and probably howl for effect.
The Bad Batch
Crosshair | “Death Don’t Have no Mercy” (Stripped Version) Esterly, Eric McSpadden
This is a slow-burn about the inevitability of death. It’s very Crosshair. The twangy-bluesy guitar with the rolling drums and choral backing vocals make this an unexpected choice for those more familiar with classic burlesque but Crosshair plays everything close to the chest but with the presence to really make this song captivate. He’ll be walking the stage, staring down the audience, and peeling off clothing, slooooowly to keep the tease alive.
Echo | “Say My Name” KNGDAVD
No one was expecting this, even even Echo. The first time he performed, he wasn’t even sure he wanted to perform. This song kicked on, the dirty verb of the guitar, the kick of the beat, the croon of the singer summoned the Domino Twin in him and he went for it. There was bump n’ grind, there was parade and peel, there were so many credits on the floor that this boy slipped and went into the sexiest split of any of the rings.
(Echo now has rhinestoned plastoid plates that snap on to his legs, not head canon, canon, I will not be accepting feedback.)
Hunter | “Desperado” (Slowed TikTok vers) Rhianna, RH Music
The man is a tracker. The audience is his prey. This version is a sultry slowest-of-the-slow burns. It’s all about drawing the tease out, the audience on the edge of their seats, not to see the skin (but also yes) but to just watch this man who has complete control over every single muscle through fluid physicality take off one garment at a time. It’s about the connection he can maintain with the audience, the presence he takes up just by breathing (which is part of his choreo).
Tech | “People Are Strange” Tribe Society
Some performers tend not to engage with their audience because they are so into what they’re doing, enjoying themselves. Others prefer to  be observed, to be art. That’s Tech. This song is sultry and smokey and slow, anyone else would be slithering across the stage and stripping. Tech is using this song to showcase the flexibility of the human body, there are alot of acrobatic poses with very slow transitions. Since Tech is an inventive mind, he also likely likes to innovate new and interesting ways to remove clothing (such as an inverted hand-stand on a chair while removing a thigh-high from one leg with his toes of the other).
Wrecker | “I Believe in a thing Called Love” The Darkness
Classic-rock with a super playful vibe. I could totally see Wrecker choosing a hair-metal inspired track. It’s high energy, perfect for a guy with little impulse control and a whole lot of love to give. He’s gonna rip his shirt off within the first 30 seconds of the song, swing it around and then chuck it into the audience and they are going to eat.it.up. He’s going to have a lot of fun on stage, that’s what its all about for him, he’ll do bump and grind, he’ll do (his version of) classic flirty, he’s gonna tease but in a delightful way and during the clapping-bridge he’s gonna gonna reveal assels (they’re tassels for your butt).
Bonus:
Yoda | “Pour some sugar on me” Def Leopard
He doesn’t take any clothing off and still ends up buried in credits.

Heey!! Sorry to bother u, but I was rereading Lítost for maybe the sixth time and just wanted to ask if u could give us a little snippet of the next chapter?? Pls? I've read it for the first time soon after it was posted, and I just love how in-character all your characters are. Sending love!!
you've read it so many times? 🥺 I'm seriously not worthy of you. thank you so so much for your patience! I can imagine how frustrating it must be having waited that long and I'm so greatful that you and the people who have contacted me are so nice about it ♥
As for the snippet, chapter 2 opens with a (admittedly long) flashback that gives us an insight to the late dynamic Obi-Wan/Padme/Anakin had.
I went a bit back and forth whether the snippet should be from present moment but I think that part needs more editing so I hope you'll be happy with the opening flashback instead 🫶
Master Yoda truly knew how to deliver a punishment when he wanted to. Obi-Wan thought dryly as his eyes took in the people who were slowly arriving. The sounds of cheers, and claps and clicks could still be heard from the reporters outside, who were waiting like hawks did their pray to capture the perfect and the worst shots of the guests.
Master Yoda had had called it a simple request; “Fond of you are many Senators. With a familiar face content more they will feel.”
He had no choice but to accept and guard the multiple politicians that were to attend the gala and ensure their safety. Obi-Wan wasn’t a big fan of the unnecessary glamour or the spotlight. He was a Jedi, he didn’t belong here. There was next to nothing he could do however, especially after the stun Anakin had pulled.
Padme had been trying to comm him restlessly the past few days. To apologize, he presumed. Regardless of the inevitable talk they were bound to have eventually, he still felt hurt at her actions; for going behind his back, against her own word to tell Anakin of the secret mission the council had assigned him. What a fool he had been; to entrust her with his doubts, with his fears. Just because he had warmed their bed a couple of times, didn’t mean she would have his back. Padme and Anakin would always choose each other in the end and for the first time he wondered when he had stopped being an option for Anakin.
When had they stopped being a team?
A hand clasped his right shoulder firmly, “Where does your mind travelling, my friend?”
He sighed before he took another sip of the drink the senator had recommended him. He grimaced at the spicy flavour; he was more keen on the sugary side.
“To be frank, I’m just thinking how wasteful my presence is.”
Bail didn’t take his comment unkindly. He laughed easily and shook his head in a feign disappointment. “Wasteful? You already left quite a good impression on one of my friends.”
He raised his glass to toast at someone and Obi-Wan followed his gaze, which lead to Senator Danu. Yes, the Senator had an interesting viewpoint of the Kuat's shipyards, but seemed too concern about the guests who had yet to arrive. He, too, found a Jedi’s presence unnecessary - he was supposed to be fighting a war, not spend his night with the high social class of Coruscant but how could Obi-Wan explain that his attendance was more of a punishment than a service? “An interesting man indeed.”
“Your ability to blend among us must be a curse.” Bail teased him between his giggles and Obi-Wan wondered whether his had snatched an extra glass under his unsupervised eye.
“I wouldn’t call it a curse. More of an unwanted gift.”
“Ahhh, I’m certain you’ll endure.” He nodded, giving him another pat on his shoulder as his face brightened at the sight of another quest who entered. Obi-Wan couldn’t see him clearly as the people started filling in the room but Bail seemed to sober up rather quickly as he finished his remaining drink and left it on the table. “If you excuse me I have another friend to catch up. This is a night off for you Obi-Wan, try to relax.”
He watched silently as Bail walked across the room to greet an Ithorian Senator before they both made their way towards Senator Amedda who was conversing with Senator Taa. His eyes narrowed at their clumsily attempt to appear obscured as they tucked themselves in the other side of the roo,. He would have to ask Padme if there was something stirring within the Congress.
Speaking of whom, she was radiant tonight. He thought a little dazed.  The multi-colored gown hugged her petite form elegantly and her bodice was studded with beads and pearls complimenting her low-cut neckline wonderfully. Delicate embroidery was stitched at the hems of her dress and her silky brown hair were pulled back a by a silver headpiece made of embossed pieces of metal connected by tiny silver shells, allowing her face to be unconcealed. The rest of the hair were wound into a large braided bun, with the remainder of two stray strands framing her face. Obi-Wan had to wonder how long she must have sat to allow her handmaids to create such an artwork. He looked up, meeting her kind amber brown eyes; warm and inviting. Obi-Wan could easily get lost in them. He had almost begun to return the smile she gave him before he caught a sight that immobilized him to the spot. Anakin was there He stood right there, in all his glory with arms crossed and an angry petulant grimace on his face. Rather clumsily, Obi-Wan put back the glass on the table; it clinked against the tray, disturbing his uneasy thoughts.
He was suddenly weary as they ambled through the crowd; it was almost poetically fitting; him against them – separated by a sea of people. But Padme was determined, even as she made small stops to chatter and greet the people who demanded her attention.
Her smile was tight, fake and by the way her fingers twitched he could tell she was getting impatient. Anakin wasn’t hard to figure out. He always wore his heart on his sleeve, something Obi-Wan had continued to chastise him for years. Anakin rolled his eyes quite rudely in his opinion as he nodded whatever the quest was telling them and tagged Padme away.
“Obi-Wan!” Padme cheerfully saluted him, pretending to have just spotted him now. As if no one had noticed the furtive looks she had been sending at his direction from the minute he walked in.
“Senator Amidala, Anakin…” He greeted them with a slight bow, hands crossed behind his back in a perfect pose as he eyed their intertwined fingers with distaste.
Padme took a notice of it and dropped Anakin’s hand quickly as if it burnt her. She scanned around the crowd, suddenly concerned if anyone noticed her impulsive behaviour. Good. He thought, she should be Anakin glared both of them, probably annoyed at their façades. “Hello, Master…” The way he dragged his title was enough to let Obi-Wan know of his mood. “None of that Obi” She told him gently, placing a soft hand on his forearm.
He tensed at the endearment and cleared his throat, gently shaking her hand off as he looked at his former padawan whose fists clenched at his side. “Did you at least have the consideration to require permission from the council for your attendance here or is it another thing I should report?”
Padme folded her arms under her chest, making it temporarily difficult to concentrate as she raised her chin slightly upwards in defiance. "I requested his presence from the council and they granted permission without any objection"
Because they'll question me later. He thought, suddenly exhausted. He would be the one to stand once more in front of the council and defend Anakin’s actions until he was out of breath. How someone as intelligent as Padme could be so thoughtless and impetuous with her secret marriage was beyond him. Did they really believe their pretence wasn’t obvious? “I see… Well then I wish you both to enjoy the rest of your night.” A resilient hold prevented him from moving and he was pulled back roughly only to meet Anakin’s furious stare. “This isn’t fair!” Padme tried to sooth Anakin but he shrugged of her hand, his attention sorely on him. “You were ready to lie, to deceive us! And you have the gall to pretend to be offended?"
Obi-Wan tried in vain to jerk away his arm but Anakin’s solid hold only tightened painfully around him. He glanced around; making sure no one was watching the display of disrespect.”Lie, deceive? I’m not the one who hid his secret marriage for years” He accused him coldly and Anakin had the audacity to look shocked.
He relished him at last from his iron hold and stumbled backwards as if he had been slapped. His gazed lowered for a moment as if considering his next words before they hardened. “I thought we had moved passed that”
Obi-Wan studied the two for a moment, contemplating how worthwhile the argument was. “Perhaps I haven’t.”
Padme’s brows furrowed in guarded curiosity, “Why didn’t you tell us?”
Why indeed. How could he explain that he was in no rush to open old wounds? How every night they spent together, he had to wonder if it would be the last?
The air fell still between them and for once Obi-Wan was glad for the people who surrounded them; their mindless chattering was enough to fill the heavy silence. Despite the recently closed bond, he could sense the storm in his beloved eyes. Guilt sent little squirming feelings slithering through his belly at their suffering. He was hurting them for no reason. It wasn’t their fault they couldn’t understand. Their relationship was already so fragile and freshly new, it left him buffed on how to treat them and hesitant at the risk of destroying what they had built through their friendship
He thought of Siri, of how he had begged her to leave the Order with him, of how close he had been to convincing her to go. He thought of Cerasi; young, and passionate - his love for her had burnt brighter than any light. And then there was Satine; strong yet gentle, just as lovely as she was wise. She had seen the bigger picture, had known they wouldn’t be able to thrive together, not when their duties had become their priorities.
His love for these women had been selfish, and childish. His passion, naivety and yearning had been overwhelmingly consuming, a bubbling sensation slowly rising so close to the surface, he had been certain he would explode.
So far, he had been perfectly content with loving Padme and Anakin from afar. They had each other; he had to constantly remind himself every time the waves of envy and possessiveness made their way to his head.
His friendship with Padme had helped fill the gap between him and Anakin; the miscommunication that had existed between them for so long and yet…
Padme was never supposed to enjoy his company enough to want him to stick around and Anakin was never meant to dwell so deep into his heart. Somehow, the two had decided to cast aside logic and thought it was normal to start pursuing him
He refused to make the same mistakes again
He gave her a sidelong glance, opting to ignore their hurtful expressions, “This is neither the place nor the time for this.”
“When will it be then?” Anakin stepped forward, jaw clenched tightly as his eyes trailed his face as if searching for an answer. “When will it be when all you’ve done is shut us out?”
“What angered you most Anakin?” He turned facing him, a taunting tone painted in his voice. “That I was ready to accept the mission or that I chose Padme instead of you to know the truth?”
Padme could barely hide her mid surprise. Her eyes darted between them in uncertainty before she shook her head and claimed with confidence. “That’s not true, right Ani?”
Anakin did not respond.

I sent this ask and a few others about Jedi eremika. I remember like a long time ago I sent an ask about Mikasa wearing a revealing black dress like Padme did but I can’t really say if I sent asks with a lot of possibilities 😂😂 I do think I have a few SW asks you haven’t answered yet tho, like one of them in the arena if I recall correctly
Sincerely, I think Eren is very much an Anakin type character, Ahsoka’s last episode and Anakin shifting between good and bad was so very Eren coded. I can’t help but see Eren realistically as either a fallen Jedi or someone like Starkiller who’s not a Sith but very very bad, sexy force chocking and sexy force lightening and a very sexy blood red lightsaber
tell me more about why you want her to be his apprentice !!!
Oh bb it's definitely u lol, u will now shalt forth be dubber star wars anon 😂 These asks sound familiar I was actually gonna answert them the other day bc i been on my star wars brainrot 😂 keep getting anakin edits all over my tik tok lmfao !!! Don't worry im going to answer them! Maybe ill do it tonight after I get back from spin class lol!! BUT OMG I AGREE! Anakin and Eren , SO SIMILAR!! It's why i was almost in my anidala writing phase lol bc he's so eren coded. i can totally see Eren as a big bad fallen jedi, like sexy red light saber. Except maybe he wouldn't get all burned and ugly like anakin tho. I'd love to see Mikasa as his apprentice like chasing him across the galaxy trying to get him back lmfao. Like imagine Eren switching up but he doesn't actually get the opportunity to do anything bad bc Mikasa is like excuse u what the fuck?? I could see their relationship being like a mix of Anakin/Padme but with the camraderie of Ahsoka/Anakin. Eren never gets to do anything bad tho bc Mikasa is ALWAYS fucking there ruining his evil plots. u could be much more dramatic with it tho lol, but they'd be so funny to me too, so may ways to go with this storyline!

Anidala au inspired by movie/book Flipped where as kids, Padme was in love with Anakin the moment they met but he didn't like her at all. Then as they get older it's flipped with Anakin being the one in love with Padme
I like Padmé being the in love one first! Let that woman be head over heels while Anakin is… clueless. Because I’d believe that.
Listen, I’m such a fan of the “later down the road” and reconciliation fics and getting back together. I have an idea sort of like this in the works, though. Going back and forth between them at different moments in their life.

Chapter 1: Palpatine
Anakin smiled sadly and straightened his back. “Same as always. You know..”. He stated as his eyes drifted off towards clones being unloaded from the ship onto stretchers. They all had a cloth covering their faces. His jaw tightened in frustration and he looked down. Obi-Wan notice this and put his hand on his right shoulder. “We try our best, we can’t save everyone.” He solemnly stated.
Palpatine shook his head in agreement. “Right you are Master Kenobi. Anakin you tried your best that’s all that matters.” As he said this, he raised his hand and placed it on Anakin’s free shoulder.
Anakin’s head, that was lowered in sadness, looked up into Palpatine’s eyes.
“Well, me and Obi-Wan have to go.. I’ll talk to you later.”
“Yes! Yes! Go do that, I wouldn’t want to hold the both of you.” Palpatine urged.
Obi-Wan removed his hand from Anakin’s shoulder and started walking towards the Jedi Temple. Anakin followed behind him.
Palpatine walked behind Anakin as they entered his office. “Chancellor Palpatine, may I tell you something?.“ Anakin said as he walked into the office. “You can tell me anything Anakin.” He said in a playful manner.
Anakin looked slightly annoyed, but not at the Chancellor but at the council. “I get the feeling that the Jedi council is excluding me.” Palpatine sat down at his desk and furrowed his brows and sighed. “It’s upsetting to me that the council doesn’t seem to fully appreciate your talents. Don’t you wonder why they won’t make you a Jedi master?”
Anakin paced back and forth in front of the desk stuck in his thoughts. Why didn’t they he wondered. He’s strong enough and has so much experience. Anakin looked up into Palpatine’s eyes. “I wish I knew… I know there are things about the force that they are not telling me.”
The Chancellor got up and gestured Anakin to take a stroll with him. “They don’t trust you Anakin.” He stated bluntly.
“But why?” Anakin asked. Palpatine turned to Anakin and rubbed his chin. “That’s my question too. You are obviously the strongest and destined for the best. But the views of the Jedi are limiting.”
“Really?” Anakin was confused. Where was this conversation going?
Palapatine stoped walking and faced Anakin. “The dogmatic narrow views of the Jedi. If you want to become a complete and wise leader, you must embrace… a larger view of the force.” As Palpatine was saying this Anakin started to sweat. Was he hearing this correctly? He started to circle around the Chancellor in slight fear. “Only through me can you achieve a power greater than any Jedi will… you will be able to save your wife…from certain death.”
Anakin froze. He knows. Anakin thought. Palpatine somehow figured out the relationship between him and Padme! Little did Anakin know that Palpatine was using this as leverage.
“Yes I know about you and Padme. I’m not quite sure how the jedi council will react to this information…” Palpatine stated.
Anakin gasped in shock and his eyes widened in fear. He practically jumped up. “Please! Don’t say anything! I’ll do anything! Just don’t say anything! The council already hates me…” Anakin said rapidly, begging for his secret to be kept.
Palpatine felt that this opportunity will benefit him greatly but looked at him with a thoughtful expression. “Learn the dark side and save your wife.” He said as he smiled sinisterly.
Anakin was desperate for the Chancellor not to say anything. If he did he could be expelled and publicly humiliated! The jedi council already doesn’t like him and this would only make things worse! He was also was scared of what else the Chancellor could do but realized fear is what leads to the dark side. He couldn’t let Obi-Wan down and fall that quickly. He shook his head from his thoughts took a step back and pulled out his lightsaber.
His faced hardened with determination. “No, this is wrong and I will hand you over to the Council.”
Palpatine cackled in a mocking manner. “You will try.”
Suddenly a chill formed in the hallway. Anakin knew he wouldn’t win but still tried his hardest. Palpatine was on another level of strength that he would never achieve. One moment he was swinging his saber, and the next moment it was across the hallway and he was on the ground groaning. Palpatine used Sith lightning on him and pinned him down ceasing his movements.
“You knew you wouldn’t win… If you join me, you may be able to beat me one day.” Palpatine said imitating sincerity. Smiling and at this moment Anakin realized how sinister he looked. Old and wrinkly, yellow crooked teeth, pale and ugly.
“No! Never!” Anakin tried to move but his body hurt too much. He just needed to reach his saber. Palpatine still held him down and came to an amazing thought. He used the force to make sure Anakin wouldn’t be able to move and got up. He locked his office door and made sure to send a message to Obi-Wan that him and Anakin were having a long discussion and he may keep him for awhile. Then he headed back to the hallway and looked at Anakin pitifully.
“You should have joined me. This could have been easier…”
Anakin shook in appreciation, afraid of what Palpatine will do. Anakin stumbled on his words. Nothing forming properly from his mouth. “W-What are you going to do to me?”
Palpatine leaned in close and said into his ear “What you deserve.” Then started to peel off his robes.
Anakin started to tremble in trepidation.
“What… What… No!” He couldn’t believe this. He is so strong how did he get himself into this situation? He was about to be raped by someone he trusted!
“This is what happens when you don’t listen to me. When you misbehave.”

Anakins father revealed
So basically I have never accepted that Ani was born of immaculate conception. The events of the phantom menace tell us that his mom had never been intimate with anyone and was at a loss as to how she got with child.
So, not to drag anything out with dramatics, I shall name the father and that individual is Palpatine. Great, cue the fireworks and speak forth the hosannahs. Now to justify that pronouncement, we have to wonder why he picked that particular woman to get his ashes hauled and then skip out of town leaving her to be a slave on some back water world.
The answer is that to some extent, force users can see the future. Be this a variation of the world between worlds, or some sort of precognition. We know this because Yoda in the movie attack of the clones, tries and fails to get a read on coming events, but finds the miasma cloudy ( if he was actually telling the truth, and not obsuring that he had advance knowledge of coming events, and the little rat making plans to head to a swamp in Dagobah).
Allright, now Palps does the nasty on Tatooine and creates conditions that set up the trade union blockade on his home planet of Naboo for no apparent reason that we can see beyond its a movie stupid, we don't need no stinking reason.
Fuck that, we are fans and we will deconstruct George's reasons, given that A new hope was effectively a fluke in terms of science fiction movies and for some reason it caught the zeitgeist of the people, for the prequels, some foundational work was going to be done on the world building.
So Palps can see somewhat of the future, obviously he could grasp what might happen when Padme decides to take action and the Jedi are brought in to contain the situation. Now we have two converging trajectories, as Padme's extraction from Naboo places her in conjuction with Ani on Tattooine via the Jedi who want the little menace safely in the jedi temple when for some reason, they just happen to meet up.
Now how did that happen. We know from the movies that Palps wants the Jedi order destroyed, and for that to happen he needs to start a war. He needs an army that answers to him and he needs them co-located with the jedi and we never did find out who authorized Syphodius to spend a shit load of shekels on a clone army, right around the time that Ani was born, or at least a gleam in his daddies eye.
Now wars are democracies, the enemy gets a vote but Palps leaves nothing to chance, he needs an enemy army that he can control and while we all know what General Order 66 was, I can guess that General order 67 was the shutdown command for the clankers.
Back to Ani and Padme, he was around ten years old and she was an elected queen at 16 or so. But Ani has to meet her when he was at that age, as she represents the princess and damsel in distress that brings out the adoration. Had he met her when he was 14 or 15, our boy's thoughts would have been more normal and she would have been an ass that begging to be tapped.
So we don't actually have any idea what happened while Ani was training at the temple, but he meets up with Padme around 6 years later on Corusant and she is now a senator, and someone (cough, cough) wants her swimming with the fishes, and the bright sparks at the temple put a hormonal jedi in the same location with a hot princess, what did they think was going to happen.
So now two years later Padme is torn between something is really wrong with Ani and knitting baby booties, and we all know what happens afterwards. The only kink in the plan was that Padme died, presumably due to the influence of Luke and Leia being force babies that might have needed to be calmed down with another force user and drained her physically.
Ani was supposed to die of his injuries in the lava lake, leaving Palps to take over the care of Padme and the kids, so that when Endor happened, there would be a line of succession. Damm those teddy bears. You don't actually believe Palps would bring a second unfinished death star to Endor by chance did you, his third eye seen almost every possibility.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The entire run of this comic up to this point has been exactly like this--Vader trying to find Padme’s body while the people of Naboo still loyal to Padme try to stop him, where Anakin is coming face to face with a past in both the current time and in his own red-tinged memories, his brutal coldness at refusing to engage with them as Anakin Skywalker, his brutal murder of anyone who steps in his way, that the most he offers Sabe is a willingness to let her go if she leaves now, to leave her in the dirt next to Padme’s tomb. The way the comic uses Vader’s memories, the sweet moments from The Phantom Menace and occasionally Attack of the Clones, the way the red seems to swing back and forth between painfully haunting to something almost sweetly warm and then back to ruthlessly cutting into Vader, to catch up to the current vision--that everything up to this point in red has been a memory, something to parallel the current timeline but never quite touching it, always still separate, but then it’s crashing right into the current time. Vader’s perspective is no longer just softer moments from the movies, it’s no longer sweet memories of Padme (contrasted against the cruel things he’s doing to those very people in the current time, but sweet memories all the same), but the red-tinted perspective of what he’s done now.  The Amidalans that he’s cut down now are shown in the same filter that has shown all those memories.  The people and creatures and things of Naboo that he has cut down in his path towards Padme’s grave, that everything that was a reminder of her and this planet she came from, that has stood in his way, has been cut down. And you can’t deny that Anakin and Vader are the same person, that what drives Vader is what drove Anakin.  That his memories aren’t of a separate person, no matter how hard Vader is trying to kill off that part of himself that is in horrific pain. The way he looks over them, their pained groans because they feel they’ve failed Padme, they’re sorry because they couldn’t do more for her name, contrasted against everything he’s done for Padme that isn’t really about what she wanted at all, then crashing the two perspectives, Anakin’s memories and Vader’s current point of view, it’s just an absolute explosion of tension leading up to what is always one of the most central themes of connection between the OT and the PT:  Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker. None of this feels accidental, right up to Vader’s final memory before it turns into his current perspective:
Tumblr media
“I made this for you, so you’d remember me.” Fucking woof. What a note to deliver it home with. Little Anakin Skywalker wanted to be remembered. Big Anakin Skywalker is murdering everything that ever could possibly remember him. This is the story of Darth Vader between ROTS and ANH, it was the same with the 2017 comic, where every single story in that comic was about Vader trying to murder the people who remembered him, the people who represented paths he could have chosen instead of this one, trying to murder the core of himself when he couldn’t bring Padme back.  It was about him violently rejecting the knowledge that Obi-Wan would have accepted him back, if he’d gone to him. This is the story of Vader and Ahsoka’s confrontation in Rebels, where he can’t tolerate her living because she remembers him as he used to be.  Even when she was willing to accept him again, said she wouldn’t leave him, not this time, he was still going to kill her because he just could not tolerate it. He could not tolerate being remembered as he was versus what he had done and who he was now. But he can’t ever really kill that part of himself.  He can’t separate the two out, no matter how much he tries or the narrative sets up the two as different.  Those perspectives eventually will crash into each other and merge into one, because Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker. Even if he murders everyone who ever remembered him, he will still always remember Anakin Skywalker.

Idk if you still do Obitine fanfic requests, but I was wondering if you could do one where Obi-Wan and Satine almost get caught by the Jedi Council and Anakin (and maybe Padmé) have to frantically cover for them left and right? I adore your work, been reading them all day if you can't tell 😅
- Lies, Sweet Lies -
While Obi-Wan had never explicitly stated his reasoning for leaving Coruscant so abruptly Anakin knew - in the uncanny way he had always been able to read his master - that he was jetting off to Mandalore to see Satine.
He wouldn't say anything, of course. How could he? He himself had spent the entire morning with Padme. Out of everyone in the Order he had no right to chastise Obi-Wan.
Still, at least he and Padme were more often than not on the same planet. He doesn't quite know how Obi-Wan does it; being so far from Mandalore. Then again, his Master had gone literal years without seeing Satine. He's certain both of them have a patience that neither he nor Padme posses.
"Skywalker!"
He had been standing outside the entrance of the Senate chamber, chatting idly with Padme about his latest mission when Mace Windu shouted his name.
"Master Windu," Anakin greeted, "Is something the matter?"
The Jedi Master eyes both he and Padme cautiously, gaze shifting from one to the other for a bit longer than Anakin was particuarly comfortable with.
To his relief though, the older man didn't comment on them.
"I'm looking for General Kenobi." He says gruffly, "But it seems your master has vanished and hasn't answered his Comlink. Any idea where he may be?"
Anakin felt his blood run cold. Surely Obi-Wan wouldn't have been so careless as to leave the planet without coming up with a valid reason.
Right?
To his relief, its Padme that jumps in.
"I actually just saw Master Kenobi only this morning."
He knows immediately that his wife is lying; Obi-Wan had left late last night, a fact that Padme is more than aware of.
"Did you?" Mace questions, "I don't suppose he had mentioned where he would been heading today, did he?"
Padme froze, unprepared for the question. As much as she was a quick thinker on her feet, and could convince someone of even the most outrageous lie by sheer virtue of her honest demeanor, he knows that she doesn't know enough about Obi-Wans day to day and missions to come up with something plausible.
"As far as I know sir, he had mentioned going to the medical station. Some of the 501st were injured just before we returned. I suppose he wanted to check in on our men."
Mace narrows his eyes, clearly unconvinced.
"You mean to tell me Obi-Wan pulled himself away from the temple to pay a visit to the clones medical station?"
Anakin hoped that Mace couldn't detect the slight panic that was bubbling in the pit of his stomach.
"I recall you saying that his com was lost during their mission, didn't you Anakin?" Padme asks, looking pointedly at him.
God bless Padme and her quick thinking.
"You're right," Anakin says in a tone he hopes is convincing enough, "Cody had found it after we cleared out. I assume he had taken it with him to the Medical Station; it's likely Obi-Wan went out to retrieve it."
Mace looks back and forth between the two of them. If he isn't convinced by the story, he doesn't vocalize it.
"Contact the Medical Station, would you? Tell them if Obi-Wan hasn't already left his presence is required by tomorrow morning, Master Billaba is returning from Chalacta with an urgent update for the Council."
Anakin nods enthusiastically.
"Of course, Master Windu. I'll get in contact with them immediately."
Without so much as a goodbye the older man saunters off, and with him went all the tension Anakin had been holding in his chest.
"That was a close one." He looks at Padme, "Thank you, for that. I don't think I could have come up with a cover story that quickly. The lost com was a brilliant idea."
"Working in the Senate has certainly helped my quick thinking skills," She says, "You need to contact Obi-Wan now and tell him the council is looking for him."
"If he isn't answering for the council I doubt he'll answer for me." Anakin say with a shake of his head.
Padme grins, "He might not be answering, but I'm certain Satine will."
He can't help but return her grin.
------
Obi-Wan watches as Satine looks out the windows that lead to the balcony. It was nearing sundown on Mandalore, and the skies were lit up in an array of orange and red. It wasn't often she was given the opportunity to gaze out onto the sunset, and it wasn't often he was given the opportunity to gaze at her.
"Does the sunset interest you more than my presence, dear?" He teases, coming to stand beside her.
Satine chuckles softly, "Can't I admire the presence of both?"
He had arrived hours earlier, sneaking into Sundari Palace undetected. He had wanted to surprise her, and so he hadn't alerted her of his arrival. Instead, he had waited in her private chambers until she returned from her conference with the neutral systems.
To say she was surprised to see him would have been an understatement. Had she not been so shocked to see him standing in the middle of her room he's certain she would have panicked at the intruder.
Not that he gave her much time to react, by the time he saw the initial panic leave her eyes he was already kissing her.
He places a hand on her hip and looks out towards the skyline. As much as he loves to tease her he can't help but understand her fascination with the sky. It was a sight to behold.
"I suppose," He says, "So long as the sunset doesn't overshadow my visit."
Satine chuckles before leaning up and pressing a chaste kiss against his lips.
"I would never allow it."
Reconnecting with Satine felt like both the most daunting task and yet the most simple decision he's ever made. He was a man that valued truth above all else, and he could not deny one truth more than the other. He loved Satine just as he loved being a Jedi. It was a conundrum that plagued him more often than not. He knew he was going against the code that he held so dear, yet he cannot being himself to pretend as though being in love with Satine is wrong when it is something that felt so conclusively right.
"I'm glad you're here," Satine says, resting her head on his shoulder, "It was a lovely surprise."
"I thought so," He presses a kiss to the top of her head, lips lingering for just a fraction longer than necessary, "It's been too long."
"It has." She agrees, voice a bit more solemn than before.
He feels guilty every time he leaves, knowing that she would be waiting anywhere from weeks to months to hear from him. He hated it, jetting off around the galaxy with the knowledge that she was waiting for him.
But Satine was nothing if not dedicated to her duty, and she understood as well as he did that if they were going to act on their feelings for one another it would only be allowed in fleeting moments.
It wasn't fair but then, neither was the war they were both thrust in. She fighting to keep her people out of it, and he entering the fray and fighting for the republic.
"I miss you terribly." Satine admits, "More so than normal, which is why I'm overjoyed to have you here."
Another pang of guilt hits him square in the chest.
"I'm sorry," He says, "For always leaving."
She looks up at him, eyes narrowed in a way that lets him know she's deadly serious.
"Don't you dare apologize," She tells him, "I made my choice just as you did. There is no place for apologies in that. They do no good to us."
"You're right," He takes her hand in his own and raises it to his lips, "No dwelling on the what ifs. It's a waste of the time we have."
There's a wicked grin gracing her lips as he speaks, "I can think of a few more productive use of our time."
The hand he held in his own was suddenly tugging him in the direction of her bed, and who was he to deny her anything?
He had just collapsed on top of her and pressed his lips to the base of her neck when the familiar chirping of Hololink sounded throughout the room.
"Ignore it." He requests.
She hums contentedly but still tries to squirm out of his embrace.
"Obi-Wan." She huffs.
"How often are we alone, Satine?"
"Not often enough," She relents, "But no one knows you're here, and they're likely to send guards this way if it's important and I ignore it."
He sighs in defeat and rolls off of her.
He watches as she finger combs her hair and adjusts the collar of her dress. The last thing she would need is someone questioning her dishevelment. All the better for him too; best not to alert anyone she has a consort in her private chambers. People would start to suspect things.
When Satine accepts the call, the last face he expects to see is Padmes.
“Satine!” The younger woman exclaims, though her voice is lacking in its normal excitement.
“Hello Padme,” Satine greets, voice as even as ever. “Is everything alright?”
He watches as Padme opens her mouth to answer, but is cut off when the holo is taken out of her hands. When it settles back into focus, it’s his Padawans face that he’s greeted with.
“We have a problem,” Anakin says, forgoing a hello, “The council is asking me where Obi-Wan is.”
Upon hearing that Obi-Wan scrambles off the bed, grabbing his discarded tunic and pulling it over his bare chest. Anakin might have been made privy to his relationship with Satine, but that didn’t mean he wanted to hear the teasing that would surely come from the younger man.
“Anakin,” He says, coming to stand behind Satine, “What’s going on? Did something happen?”
“Other than having to make up a complete lie to Mace Windu about your whereabouts, everything is going fine.”
He groans, not even bothering to hide his displeasure. If there was one thing he didn’t want to happen, it was for Anakin to be tangled in his web of lies when it came to his relationship with Satine.
“You what?”
The projection flickers for moment and obscures his padawans face but he’s certain he caught a glimpse of an eye roll.
“Lied to Mace Windu, to cover for you. Padme and I both.”
Having Anakin lying to the council is one thing, but dragging Padme into his mess was worse.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan places a hand on Satines should, “You shouldn’t have lied to a council member, and certainly shouldn’t have involved Padme.”
“I involved myself, Obi-Wan.” Padme assures him, “And we didn’t have much of a choice.”
“Still,” Obi-Wan says, “I dislike the idea of someone lying on my behalf.”
“I very well couldn’t tell them you jetted off to Mandalore to see your girlfriend, could I?”
He doesn’t need to look at Satine to know the both of them are blushing at Anakins brash description of their relationship.
“What did Mace want, Anakin?”
His thumb gently rubs the exposed skin of her shoulder; trying his best to soothe the worry he knows is bubbling inside her at the thought of their relationship being exposed. He can’t say he blames her. If anyone less friendly than Anakin and Padme found out it would be a disaster for the both of them.
“Master Billaba is due to return shortly from Chalacta, evidently they’ll be holding a council meeting tomorrow morning to discuss whatever information she found. Master Windu was looking to inform you, I’m assuming, but you weren’t answering your comlink.”
His mind briefly wanders to the comlink he has hidden safely in the pocket of his robes, which lay somewhere discarded on the floor. No doubt he was too preoccupied with other things to have heard it.
“Yes, I mustn’t have heard it.”
Though out of view, he can hear Padme giggle lightly in the background.
“Thank you, Anakin, for being gracious enough to cover for the both of us. Don’t let his feigned annoyance fool you, Obi-Wan is just as grateful.” Satine says in the same tone she uses to address her people. Clear and crisp but sincere.
“If anyone asks,” Anakin says, “Particularly Master Windu, you were at the medical station with the 501st retrieving your lost comlink, which Cody so graciously found and held on to for you.”
It worries him a bit how well Anakin was able to lie to a council member. But then, he had been lying about his relationship with the Senator for years now.
“Very clever.” He says with a shake of his head, “I suppose I’ll be departing soon, then.”
The thought saddens him and he can tell by the slight slumping of her shoulders Satine feels the same way.
“We’ll see you soon then, Master.”
“Thank you both again,” Satine says, “Truly. Time is precious and I appreciate you doing what you can to provide us with it.”
He may have been given the moniker ‘The Negotiator’ due to his impeccable social and verbal skills, but he knows Satine could give him a run for his money any day on that front. She was as articulate and sincere as she was serious and dedicated.
“Anytime, Duchess.” Anakin says.
“I’ll be talking to you soon I’m sure,” Padme says to Satine, “Take care in the meantime.”
“You too, my friend.” Satine says warmly.
“See you soon, Master.”
The image flickers for a moment before vanishing completely and Obi-Wan releases the breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding.
“I apologize.” He says, sliding the hand on her shoulder up to cup the back of her neck, “It seems my impromptu visit turned into more trouble than intended.”
“Isn’t that how it always goes?” Satine asks. Her tone is light and teasing but he knows there’s an undercurrent of truth to it.
“I had truly intended to stay for at least another day.”
Satine leans forward, her hands flattened against his chest, and kisses him sweetly.
“I am grateful just to have been able to see you, even if our time was cut short.”
There’s something about the way the evening sun illuminates her pale hair that makes him feel a bit weak at the knees. It always seemed that she somehow became even more of a breathtaking sight when he had to leave.
And he thinks in some regard it would be easy to walk away from the order if this - the love of his life drenched in the evening sun - was waiting for him when he did.
But he knows as well as she does that they both have a duty to their people, one that must be carried out by them.
“If I could give you all the time, I would.” He says sincerely.
“And I would do the same for you,” She kisses him again, slower and sweeter than the one before and he suddenly feels like he can’t breathe, “But we have our duty, and it must remain that way.”
He doesn’t know what else to do but loop his arms around her smaller frame and draw her close to him.
She tucks her head into the crook of his neck, fitting against him like a puzzle piece he hadn’t known he was missing in the first place.
How can something that goes against the code feel so right?
“I should go,” He says reluctantly, “Before Anakin slips and gets us caught.”
He can feel her chuckle against him as she presses a kiss to his neck before retracting herself from his grasp.
“I will be patiently awaiting your next return, Master Kenobi.”
He smiles, “I will always return to you, Duchess.”

11 - Trusting Master
Tumblr media
Part 12
Yoda's New Padawan
@tyrionsprincess30 @mrskenobi19
"Master, I need to tell you something." He lifts his head standing in front of me declaring. "Explanation needed not. Know of you and Kenobi I already do." My nervous smile fell in shock as I feel my heart staring to race. Of course he knows. That's why he's called a Jedi Master.
Pacing back and forth I see the door opened and Obi-wan stepped inside. Yoda sits on the small round chair with the two of us sitting on separate chairs facing him. I can already hear Obi-Wan's voice in my head telling me to relax but it's not going to happen. Not when I'm literally sitting in a room with my Master and he knows I'm pregnant. That I broke the Jedi Code. Yoda glanced from me then back to Kenobi still not uttering a word out. It's like he's taunting us by keeping the room silent. "Lie to me you both have. Disappointed I am." He finally replied and I slumped my shoulders not enjoying him saying those words.
"Master Yoda, I am truly sorry we forbade the councils orders. We never intended to it just-" Obi started to explain moving his hands about until Yoda raised a hand cutting him off. "Regret not pf this feeling, Obi-wan. Still a young Jedi Master you are." Finally locking eyes with my Master I tuck my hair behind my ear mumbling low. "So I guess we'll have to turn in our robes and lightsaber now..." Yoda sits up straighter on his little chair pointing his fingers at me. "Nonsense my padawan. Keep this hidden I shall." Obi and I turned our heads to each other in shock then turned to Master Yoda. I couldn't believe that he wasn't angry. And wasn't kicking us out of the Temple by now. Obi gets to his feet bending down on a knee to him resting his arm on his bent knee asking the daring question. "Why not, Master. Surly this is against the code." Yoda puts his hand on Obi-Wan's speaking softly. "Saw something in her I did. Grows stronger when with you it does."
Dropping to my knees beside him I take my masters hand in mine releasing happy tears up at him. "Thank you, Master. Thank you." He nodded closing his eyes and lifting our lightsabers over to us before instructing. "Mission I have for you two. Important to hide suspicion it is. Go to her home planet you shall." Raising my brows at him I don't understand why he would want us to leave the Temple. "Wouldn't that raise more suspicion?" Yoda shakes his head tapping his fingers to his forehead. "Better for them to see you both gone then just one. Hard to hide a growing belly it will be." Obi-wan nodded and I started to leave the room but stopped in my tracks. Glancing over my shoulder back to my master. "Thank you not telling anyone, Master." He bowed his head seeing me leave to go pack a bag.
Padme wasn't exactly sure of me leaving but I have to do as Yoda requested. It wasn't like we weren't ever going to come back. The world will always need Jedi. Obi-wan puts our bags in the ship taking my hand in his with a small smile. "I know this might not be a good time but I've been thinking of baby names." Throwing my head back I chuckled running a hand through his hair. "I was thinking Ben if it was a boy." Climbing into the ship I replied to his random thought. "If it's a girl I vote Kiara." He flies the ship up into the sky with R4 helping him pilot. Resting my hands on my belly I've been trying to picture would the baby take more after me or Obi-wan. I never imagined I would ever go home when Padme got into politics. I only hope that Anakin and Padme can handle being alone without us for a few days. Obi-wan closed his eyes when you jumped into light speed taking a moment to see you fast asleep behind him. He knew it was reckless to be involved with you but he didn't regret it. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a small piece of jewelry. Rubbing it between his thumb and index finger he wished you were free to wear it in public, so that everyone could see that attachment could be possible for Jedi.

Unnamed Extremely Bad Plan to Defeat Darth Sideous AU - SW AU NO 9
Hopefully writing down this star wars au will help me exorcise the cringe demon that helped midwife it. Time travel au where obi-wan and Anakin come up with an extremely SPECIFIC and UNCOMFORTABLE plan to defeat Palpatine because it unfortunately, would actually work, as it capitalizes on one of Palpatine’s easiest to reach political vulnerabilities. This is not a unique plan- there are other au’s like this, but this one is mine. When searching for ways to explain exactly why this anti-sith strategy inspires such cringe and delight in myself I realized, with sinking dread, I have seen this in an Always Sunny episode...which yeah. I might be over reacting but hey, cringe is a personal phenomenon, everyone’s different.
Anyway! Uh here’s a bunch of plot that will eventually culminate in the plan.
*Too much plot, aaaah*. **All plot actually.** ***Its 1 am and this is still a draft*** ****It’s 2am**** *****This post will be just be background I guess.*****
*******STAR WARS AU NO 9 LAZILY OUTLINED CHAPTER ONE*********
Force ghosts Darth Vader and Ben Kenobi have had time to yell at one another without need for breath, and have more-or-less come to terms with the trainwreck that was their shared life. I wouldn’t call them well adjusted, but they’re more stable then they were the last decade or so of their living existence.
In haunting Luke, they end up encountering an artifact in an ancient Willis temple that offers spirits the chance to fix the mistakes they made in life. It doesn’t truly unwrite what’s been done, but it lets you create an alternate timeline. So this galaxy will still be what it is, but some alternate galaxy somewhere could at least have it better. Its almost never been used, because becoming one with the force usually lets you accept the past, but viewed objectively, Vader and Ben’s lives involved an extreme amount of yikes. They say goodbye to Luke and are flung backwards and sideways.
Anakin is holding his mother as she dies. Obi-Wan is landing on Genosis.
Vader just barely manages to avoid slaughtering the tuskens. To be honest, he doesn’t really get why he shouldn’t- his moral compass is still pretty f-ed up. He’s fairly certain the force is just torturing him, but still he controls himself (for Padme for Luke for Leia).
I’m gonna say well-adjusted!Vader sees murder in general as more of a vice than a sin- on par with having a beer. And really well adjusted Vader is willing to admit to himself that he’s an alcoholic, he seriously cannot regulate, its a problem. He really can’t let himself go, because he’ll just end up spiraling. And so he restrains himself and only seriously maims a few of the adult raiders.
Vader figures he can always come back later and slowly torture them to death if this whole ‘save the future’ thing doesn’t pan out.
Obi-wan leaves his shuttle and hides under a rock for 30 minutes. He calculates thats just enough time for him to pretend he went on an extremely effective and sneaky fact finding mission- just in case anyone checks R4′s records. Gets back in shuttle and gets the fuck out of there, much to Dooku’s chagrin, who lost sight of him after the shuttle landed and is now going to have to switch to one of his alternate start-the-war plans.
On the flight back he reports everything to the council- fallen Dooku and the separatist leaders, the trade federation and the massive droid army, Jango Fett the clone template of the republic army (?) working for the separatists. He briefly comms Anakin, but anyone hacking into their conversations would hear only a nonsensical, rambling conversation. Later, a hacker might turn over the idea that they were speaking in elaborate code, but why would Jedi invent such a thing during peacetime?
The war still starts; at this point in the timeline it was inevitable; the artifact was only designed to give them the chance to correct their own failings, not the galaxy’s. Palpatine still gets his emergency powers.
The same day the armies are discovered, separatist war ships take off to engulf Ryloth. The Jedi are instructed by the senate to lead the clone army and provide immediate relief-this will not be a repeat of the republic’s inaction on Naboo. It’s both better and worse than the first Battle of Genosis. So many more civilians are caught in the crossfire. The first titanic battle is not contained to evacuated droid factories, but rages across an entire populated world. The battle lasts for weeks.
The main reason this fight is less deadly is solely due to the fact that General Kenobi manages to maneuver his way into high command of the entire army.
“I believe assumptions were made since I was the first point of contact with Kamino, Masters,” the Knight explained apologetically to the arriving high council members. “I realize its not quite appropriate, but for right now I am the Jedi most familiar with our forces and the enemies. I would, of course, prefer to cede the role to someone else.”
The assembled Jedi can feel the truth in that statement.
“For better or for worse, advance troops were directed by the senate to land planetside and have met heavy resistance. I managed to redirect them to a more defensible position, where they can provide surface based cover fire for incoming reinforcements. The battle has already begun.” He received a grim nod of approval from Master Windu.
“I feel the need to say now, that if there’s one thing I learned from my time as a general on Melida/Dann, or in working against Death Watch on Mandalore, its that having a clear chain of command is vital for a military to succeed. I don’t need to remind some of you that leadership breakdowns were what ultimately ended both the Stark Hyperspace War and the Yinchorri Crisis,” Masters Koon and Tiin exchanged looks before deliberately sending forth a small force wave of approval, understanding where this briefing was leading.
“I believe that unnecessarily restructuring command before the battle is won here could do far more harm than good.” The reminder of Obi-wan’s unusually militaristic apprenticeship put some of the assembled knights at ease even as it inspired a twinge of guilt in the older masters.
“In command you are, General Kenobi,” Master Yoda finally acknowledged. “A Jedi Master you will be, once done this battle is. Have us do, what would you?”
The battle lasts for weeks, and when its over, the commanding Jedi and Troopers involved will openly acknowledge that had anyone else been in command, it would’ve lasted months, if not years. Facing down logistical, strategic, and tactical problems on a scale unheard of for a thousand years, High General Kenobi does not falter.
Enemy reinforcements seem unending. For all their preparation, every single trooper is new to war, and secretly concerned that should they fall, they will be replaced with cadets who hadn’t even finished their training.
Obi-Wan is putting out fires before they can start. Much to their shock, clone commanders are informed that they will, for the time being, remain in charge of their troops. With a handful of exceptions, Jedi ‘Generals’ were in fact, to be treated as a cross between highly skilled commandoes and advisors with abnormally sourced field intelligence.
“All of you have spent your lives training to lead your brothers into combat. The Jedi Masters and knights who are being assigned to your divisions have not received such training.”
General Kenobi addressed the division commanders, some in person, some over holocomm. All focused in rapt attention as their General reordered the shape of their lives using language they could understand.
“The command structure I am issuing is designed to maximize our ability to utilize our respective strategic capabilities, while minimizing potential loss of your life. It will be our great privilege to serve alongside such an army, and while I fully expect a complementary exchange of knowledge in time, for now, focus on survival.”
The Jedi received similar briefings, tailored for their broader array of combat and military experience. Some, including Jedi Master Pong Krell and Grandmaster Yoda, were pulled aside and tasked with the essential mission of infiltrating and destroying the Droid factories on Genosis. If they were to have a chance of winning this war, they they would need to cut off the seemingly unceasing flow of droid reinforcements.
An elite squadron of Arctroopers and Jedi field operatives were covertly dispatched, Grandmaster Yoda himself in command. Considering Count Dooku had yet to appear anywhere near Ryloth...the grandmaster had the best chance of bringing in the fallen separatist leader alive for questioning.
Shortly after they left, Anakin arrived, having finally turned over Padme’s protection to her regular guard. With the military creation vote past, the assassination risk was considered minimal. The real delay in his arrival came from her repeated attempts to join the Grand Army of the Republic on Ryloth with the intent of coordinating humanitarian assistance. Eventually he managed to convince her that she could do more good in the senate.
After all, he pointed out, someone would need to followup the military creation act with a bill to grant clones equal citizen rights. Otherwise, the legal grey area that cloning fell under and their non-republic origin would inadvertently make the clones slaves.
His borrowed Nabooan cruiser entered the warzone with the grace and efficiency as a small neutron bomb.
Those close enough to see its flaming descent watched in horror, realizing that the high generals own padawan would likely be a war casualty before he ever engaged in combat.
The legion nearest to soon-to-be-ground-zero, under the command of Captain Rex of the 501st, were distracted by heated combat, as the temporary barricade they had put up to defend the civilian population gave way to droidika artillery.
While reloading, several dozen troopers happened to look up to see a speck detach itself from the hull as at spiraled in the lower atmosphere. Hope spread that the Jedi had managed to activate some sort of eject hatch. A skilled shocktrooper could probably control and and survive such a fall with luck, which mean a Jedi almost certainly could.
A few tactical scouts charged with watching the skies confirmed that the speck was indeed a humanoid. No chute was visible, but even 8 days into the war, rumors had already spread about how Master Windu had passed off his chute mid-air to a troopers who had been damaged by suppressing fire, cushioning his free fall solely with the tank he crushed upon landing.
Only one trooper, stationed in the town clock tower specifically to track the Padawan’s arrival and issued with a high-resolution farscope, saw the whole thing. Fortunately for his credibility later, in its current setting, the scope automatically logged photos every 5 seconds, ensuring that for years to come Obi-Wan would have a flipbook as evidence that he was not the crazy one.
CT-3609 or Blink (as he was named after winning the division wide staring contest on Kamino two year prior) forwarded the trajectory of the vehicle to command, who confirmed his analysis that it would impact two clicks out from their makeshift fort and not present a risk to civilian or trooper lives.
As it traversed the stratosphere a figure (desperate repair droid, Blink assumed) emerged from the cockpit to perch on the nose of the ship. As it entered the troposphere, it became painfully obvious that the figure jutting out from the hull of the ship was in fact not a humanoid droid, but an unarmored human. The Jedi stood on the prow of the ship, seemingly impervious to and oblivious of:
air resistance
centrifugal force
normal space gravity
Blink’s slack-jawed bewilderment
the flames engulfing the ship below him
At this range, the smirk on the man’s face was visible (man? boy? kriff is he even through puberty?). Several miles above the surface he leaped, diving towards the ground like a bird of prey.
To the west, the ship made impact with the ground, sending a shockwave that shook the tower just enough for Blink to lose visual in the final moments of descent. Cursing, as while he was confident the Jedi would inexplicably survive, he really wanted to see how. The trooper scanned the droid-engulfed farmland to the north for a crash site, to no avail. Lingering smoke from the burnt countryside negatively impacted visibility low to the ground.
Rather than trying to articulate his report into words, he sent the 50-odd frames the farscope had saved, as well as the coordinates for the jedi’s projected radius of touchdown. A quick radio over to long range electro-ballistics ensured that his landing wouldn’t be marred by friendly fire.
He awaited follow-up questions on the absurd entry method, which, when they came, mostly consisted of variations on “...Is this for real?” and eventually “Can you set the scope to video for a little while?” and finally “Do you think that’s how he got the name Skywalker?”
There was a temporarily lull in fire from the west, likely a ripple effect from the ship’s explosion. From his vantage point Blink could see his batchmates using the opportunity to try and plug the holes in their barricade with broken droid pieces. Regardless of the itch to join them, he knew he couldn’t leave his post until the Jedi actually arrived in camp. Finally, a distant explosion and thick pillar of smoke gave the Jedi’s position away.
He tried to make out details, but the scope had a difficult time focusing through the haze. Manually trying to fine tune the scope’s settings, Blink caught a glimpse of what looked like half a hover tank sailing through the air to impact with a trade federation troop carrier in a fiery explosion. Several more explosions, flying droid artillery, and plumes of smoke were caught on record before visual contact with the source was established. He was mostly visible as a blue blur, lightsaber mowing a meandering path towards their location.
It wasn’t until Skywalker braced himself in place to punch a droidaka into pieces that Blink caught actual sight of the man. Only his eyes were visible, nose and mouth covered by layers of cloth. He blurred, then reappeared on top a massive missile launcher attached to an absurdly heavily armored vehicle. A minute or so of rapid blue flashes passed, the longest he had seen concentrated in one area. Then Skywalker was gone, movement clearly visible as he for once he moved in a straight line, plowing a rapid path away from the launcher.
Less than 30 seconds later, Blink had to wince away from the scope, as a burning white explosion temporarily overwhelmed the direct light filter. The trooper panicked for a moment, thinking he had gone both deaf and blind, but the abrupt, sucking silence ended after a moment with a deafening sonic boom. The shockwave rattled the farscope, nearly knocking it over, but Blink managed to steady it and himself in time.
A cheer emerged from pleasantly surprised vod below. The entire droid legion that had been guarding the missile launcher and apparent ordinance bay was flattened.
It took a moment for the realization to set in that the background noise of missile and and anti-missile collisions directly overhead had slowed pace. With the northern flank gone, artillery were able to redouble efforts to the east, and a second white hot shockwave ensued, signaling that the tide of battle had shifted. It was almost too easy for the republics electro-ballistics to tactically devastate the surrounding forces.
Eventually some sort of win/loss programming must have set in and all forces outside of a certain radius began retreating southward, conceding the scorched land to the republic army. It was cadets work to clean up the final suicidal droid charge.
A commotion ensued as Skywalker leapt the barricade with a mid-air flip. The vod greeted him with cheers, as they correctly assumed his appearance had something to do with the skirmish’s decisive victory.
Blink sent the video of the battle to command and quickly packed up his scope and assorted equipment. Hurrying down the battered tower, Blink thought to himself that this Anakin Skywalker was the best sort of Jedi a trooper could ask for.
uh sorry i got really sidetracked there moving on
Kenobi and Skywalker quickly become the face of the war once again
they grit their teeth a bit, but when they finally have a moment to really plan they eventually agree that to take down Sideous they have to cut off his political power in addition to everything else, and taking advantage of their public personas was the most accessible way to do so (*evil laughter*)
While Dooku wasn’t captured, Yoda heard the truth in his old student’s cryptic warnings about a Sith in the Senate, and the council begins carefully editing their release of tactical plans to the Chancellor’s office in the hopes of ferreting out the spy in their midst.
Pong Krell looses two arms in his duel with Dooku. Obi-Wan successfully hides his smug pleasure at the news. Anakin enjoys makeing comparisons between him and Grievous.
Kenobi doesn’t allow the origin of the clones to go unexamined, although he agrees that if the public were informed that they don’t actually know who ordered them it would probably cause panic.
The ‘inhibitor chips’ are ‘discovered’ early on and Anakin leads the effort to ensure that they are phased out and removed immediately. This consists of reminding every Jedi who even hesitates about how how he as a child slave had some experience with control chips and unless you want to take a leaf out of the hutts books lets start doing brain surgery chop chop mmmkay?
(This isn’t to say that Vader doesn’t still a twinge of shame at acknowledging his slave roots. But it is eclipsed by the burning guilt that he knowingly acted as slave master to his troops for decades after Sideous wiped their minds. He tried to rationalize it to himself, after all he didn’t immediately understand what Order 66 had done to the troopers. But while the morality of murder was more of an intellectual concern than a personal one, treating people as things...)
The Kamonions are a little harder to budge, referencing contracts that they refuse to allow the Jedi to see
Finally Vader snuck into the Chief Medical Scientist’s home while she was sleeping and straight-up threatened to murder her and burn down her lab. At the risk of losing her life’s work, Nala Se complied.
Vader left with the final threat that in the event that Darth Tyranus caught wind and activated Order 66 prematurely, he would kill 100 Kamonians for every Jedi felled by troopers. Shaak Ti was pleased by the cloners sudden change of heart. Tyrannus, and by extension, Sideous, are in the dark.
Obi-Wan frequently publicly confronts Palpatine about the troops citizen status, urging him make use of his emergency powers to grant them citizenship and full pay, with the option to leave the army should they so wish.
Anakin manages to play off his avoidance of the Chancellor as disappointment in his perceived lack of dedication to anti-slavery efforts
Finally Palpatine gives in- regardless of what happens next, the troops will be looked after.
With 2/3rds of the troopers dechipped, Vaderkin is eager to kill Sideous again, but after several intense screaming matches and sparring sessions, the time travelers come to the agreement that even if they succeed in their duel, with things as they were, the perception of the Jedi military coop would cause mass civil unrest. The scattered sith apprentices, while individually weak, were more than capable of magnifying that fear and anger until the galaxy breaks. Darth Sideous wanted to ensure that if he couldn’t have the galaxy, no one would.
(Vader knows this. Sideous enjoyed monologuing, and much of his plotting couldn’t be safely bragged about until after he had decisively won, leaving Vader as the unwilling receptacle for years of pent-up rants and self-satisfied gloats about the inevitability of his victory)
