~
Your lack of sleep was showing in deep purple bruises under your eyes that no amount of even the heaviest concealer could adequately cover. You haven't slept well in days, and today’s shift had not helped your exhaustion. The day was filled with incessant neediness, people cussing you out, and an endless amount of shit.
Literally and figuratively.
You walk into your apartment, just wanting nothing but to fall into Azzi’s warm and loving arms, but you’re met with the still darkness of an empty home. Your girlfriend was in Las Vegas playing against the Aces, and she would not be home until tomorrow afternoon.
She had promised to call you after the game, but you weren’t sure if you would even make it through your shower, much less wait up for her by the phone for another three hours.
Your eyes fill with tears, the feeling of overwhelming loneliness mixing with your exhaustion, and as you throw your stuff on the floor, dredging your body into your bathroom, letting the downpour of water drown out your own tears.
You had become quite accustomed to hiding your feelings behind bright smiles and fake laughs, desperate to clutch onto the need to prove to everyone that you were okay.
Even if you really weren't.
Your girlfriend had enough stress on her, and the idea of her needing to worry about you, too, was enough to send guilt shooting through your entire body.
You had kept up your facade all throughout college, choosing to take long, solo car rides until you had to pull over, the tears swimming in your eyes nearly blinding you. And when you were strung along to the bars with Azzi and the rest of her teammates, you drowned your sorrows and fears with liquor, numbing your thoughts and your body until you were delirious.
You were the golden girl.
You knew what jokes to crack for which group of people you were around at the time. Your grades were stellar. And you had bagged the prettiest, sweetest girl in probably the entire universe.
So, you resented yourself for feeling anything other than being on top of the world, because it was actually quite the opposite.
It got worse once you graduated.
Azzi was often gone, traveling for away games, and that left you alone to process the unimaginable emotions that came with your budding nursing career. Feelings of loss and incompetence clouded your brain constantly.
Today was no different.
You had lost a patient, a kind, gentle woman who finally let go, taking her last breath while gripping your hand, completely alone.
It broke you, and the devastating reality had sunk into your chest, crushing all of the air out of your fragile lungs. And you were now gasping for air, leaving you feeling bereft and vulnerable, like an open wound.
Maybe that’s all you’d ever really be, and you could not help but think that you were the festering wound in yours and Azzi’s relationship, threatening to slowly tear it apart until the two of you were left standing in the tattered shreds of what used to be.
You wanted things to be okay so, so badly, but the overwhelming feelings of loneliness and longing had set in, chilling you down to the bone. And you were scared.
So you would just continue on pretending.
Azzi comes home the next day, and you put the mask back on the second she walks through the door. You’d be lying, though, if her presence didn’t make you feel the tiniest bit whole again. You melt into her arms, drinking in her presence, as she rubs your back soothingly, her face pressed into the crook of your neck.
Maybe everything would be okay, if only you could be honest with her.
~
Azzi lays in bed next to you, and you indulge in the way her smell has permeated the soft bedsheets again, after days of the scent slowly becoming less and less potent. She smells warm and comforting, and you nuzzle into her, desperate for her to fix every little part of you that was screaming out in insecurity and despondancy.
A low sigh escapes your throat, secretly wanting your girlfriend to pick up on your mood, and because she knows you better than anyone else, she does.
“What’s wrong, baby?” She questions, her tone filled with concern and worry. She places a hand on your cheek, coaxing you to look into her eyes, and the glow of the lamp on the bedside table illuminates the kindness emitting from her deep brown irises.
“I–” You begin, taking a deep breath and then stopping. Trying to put all your emotions into coherent words was quite the task. And honestly, you were terrified of how Azzi would react.
Her thumb strokes your cheek, as she sits up fully next to you in the bed, eyes still peering into yours.
“It’s okay, it’s just me,” she murmurs gently, and something clicks inside of you.
It was Azzi. You could tell her anything, and it would never even come close to dimming any of the love she felt for you.
In that moment, all the anxiety you felt about coming clean seemed silly, like it had been built up in your head to great heights, and here it was now, crashing down all around you.
“I’ve been really depressed,” you mumble, your cheeks feeling warm from her touch and the prickling of shame. “For a long time, actually. And I really fucking miss you. I hate feeling like a needy girlfriend, but I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this.”
The confession pours out of you, and as the air stills between you, your heart races as you watch Azzi’s face contort into a look of hurt and confusion.
“Oh, baby,” she breathes, scooping you up and setting you into her lap, legs draped over hers as she interlaces your fingers with hers.
“I’ve been missing you, too. And I didn’t want you to feel like you had to sacrifice your career for mine,” she murmurs, pressing a kiss onto your temple.
Your shoulders sag in relief, and you connect your lips in a kiss. There were numerous unspoken words shared as your lips entwined in a sheer display of passion.
As you break apart, you gaze back into those dark brown eyes, pupils now blown wide. “Guess this means we’ll have a lot more time to be doing this,” you giggle, wagging your eyebrows at Azzi.
She shakes her head fondly. “Just want my sweet, happy girl back,” she whispers in your ear.
Little did she know, you already were.
~
I really hope everyone enjoyed this. I have been toying around with a lil Pazzi fic, so let me know if you'd be interested :)
xoxo katy

“Where are you off daydreaming to?” Mattheo approached Enzo, wrapping an arm around his shoulder as his other hand shook the water balloon.
He followed Enzo’s gaze to you as you peacefully read under a tree. “Oh, not what but who. I’ve got to give it to you, summer just started and you’ve already got a new girl in mind.”
“Shut it,” Enzo replied curtly, “it’s not like that.” It was always easy for Enzo to speak to anyone, but when it came to you, he always found himself dumbfounded.
He had meant to ask you out earlier in the year when he sat beside you in Charms class. He found you more magical than any spell he learned. You had been kind and patient, like the time he accidentally turned his hair pink with the coloravia charm and you helped him turn it back. You also had fun in class like when you used the locomotor charm to levitate your quills and make them race around class.
Each time he tried to ask you out, his tongue and stomach would be in knots. If only there was a charm for that. It wasn’t like him at all. He was supposed to be the one with the charming smile who said all the right words. And yet.
He never cared about losing. He could always change his strategy, be with different people, and get what he wanted in the end. But when it came to you, the stakes seemed higher. He couldn't afford to lose and it scared him just as much as it excited him.
“Here’s a novel idea for you, why don’t you just approach her?”
Enzo elbowed Mattheo's side. “I’m working up to it,” he huffed. Perhaps if he played the words in his head several times, he could say them smoothly.
“What? Did the heat fry your brain? You’ve never had to ‘work up’ to anyone,” he tilted his head to the side, studying Enzo’s face as a grin crept onto his friend’s face.
“No.” Enzo stated, reading into Mattheo’s grin. It never meant anything good.
“I was just about to offer my help,” Mattheo said innocently despite the mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
“I didn’t say I needed—”
“Too late!” Mattheo declared as he swiftly swung his arm and hurled the water balloon at you. Splat! You yelped as something hit you below your neck and you felt water seep into your dress, the ink on your book melting into the pages until sentences were reduced to smudged lines.
He winked at Enzo and mouthed, ‘you’re welcome’ before running away.
Enzo stood horrified as he watched Mattheo’s retreating figure. “That wanker!” He muttered under his breath, quelling the urge to run after him as he returned to your friends. He’d deal with him later, he had other priorities.
Taking a breath to calm his nerves, he rushed over to you. “Sorry about Mattheo.”
You looked over at him, shock and fury swimming in your nerves. Enzo forgot how to breathe.
“H-hi,” he said weakly, clearing his throat. “It’s charms class from Enzo.” What? He felt his ears burn up with shame as he heard the words, wishing he were a leaf so the wind could carry him away.
You blinked, trying to process his words then broke out into a grin. You pointed at yourself, “it’s also charms class from y/n.”
He chuckled then, unknotting the tightness in his chest. “Can I help you with?” He motioned over to you, trying hard not to notice the way your wet dress hugged your figure. Just like that, the tightness in his chest returned. And it was also tight elsewhere.
“Yes, I want revenge,” you smirked. Salazar, he didn’t think it was possible to fall harder. He felt his heart hammering insistently, as if trying to escape his chest to leap over to you.
“Your book,” he said, trying to distract himself. “Maybe you would want to go a new one tomorrow and get a bookstore with me?” Who were words? How were sentences? What was he? It was all a mystery.
You laughed good-naturedly, he was adorable. “Whatever that was, yes.” You had liked him for a while and enjoyed spending time with him in class, but you always thought he was just being nice like he was with everyone.
Yet here he was, stumbling over his sentences. You had never seen him flustered like this before and wanted to put him out of his misery. “Now where can we get those water balloons?”

A/N: I had a longer plot in mind, but last week was personally tough for me so this will do for now. The plot idea I'm referring to will be featured in a future fic instead so stay tuned.

It was a little difficult to get out of bed that morning.
One of those days.
Long and exhausting. It was challenging to get stuff done. You knew things like this wouldn’t just go away instantly. But you hoped that maybe…
It wasn’t too bad like before. You were able to think about the chores that had to be done later in the day and pushed yourself out of the bedroom.
So you went through most of the day barely existing. Norm was the first to notice your slight change in behavior because he began trying to joke more with you—no matter how bad they ended up being—and tried getting you out of your head. And you were thankful for that. At least that’s what was different this time around. You weren’t entirely alone nor held up in your room.
That was progress, right? You honestly couldn’t tell. Sometimes you felt like you were still stuck, that you weren’t moving forward. Or getting better. At least back to what you used to be.
Yet, you’ve been this way—asleep—for so long that you have forgotten what you used to be like. You forgot when the last time you smiled. You forgot when you felt the most happy or any other emotion besides anger and grief.
You wondered where that part of you went. Some days you went searching. Other days you somberly accepted that it was a part of you, that you were never going to get back.
At some point, you figured it died along with your mother.
“You want me to check on the baby today?” Norm asked you as you were getting ready for your link for the day.
You shook your head as you sat on the link bed, “No, I’ll be fine. Just one of those days, you know? We all have em’.”
He frowned when you shrugged it off or appeared a little too nonchalant about it, “Yeah, I guess.”
“Thanks for offering though.”
“Anytime, Doc.” He gave you a pat on the shoulder, while watching you particularly closely, “Just tell me you need a break. Don’t push yourself, okay?”
He was nice. You needed something like that.
Neytiri noticed it too.
While the two of you were in the garden that day, Neytiri had been saying words in Na’vi for you to repeat. And you did it, not perfectly of course, but you managed. It was just that you didn’t take in any information. Not in the way she knew you to.
You had a certain look that told Neytiri you were hanging onto her every word, whenever you were learning something new from her. Eyes slightly vibrant with curiosity.
That look wasn’t there today. Instead, in its place was a dullness and lifeless sort of unfocused gaze.
Your ears were low again.
Neytiri didn’t know when she became so attentive to your moods or facial expressions. So much so that she could tell when you were somewhat happy and really, painfully sad—
You were just easy to read in this form.
Yes, that was it.
“What is wrong, tanhi?” Neytiri eventually asked because she didn’t completely despise you so much to ignore your change in mood.
There was a twitch in your ears when you heard your name being called. You looked up from the newly planted mushroom seeds you had been mentally counting at Neytiri to find her staring at you expectantly. “Huh?”
She rolled her eyes, “You are not listening. I know you are distracted. What is wrong with you?”
You cringed at yourself for allowing yourself to get so distracted by your swimming thoughts. Drowning in them as usual. “It’s nothing. Just have a lot on my mind.”
But the answer did not satisfy her. Neytiri shook her head, “Sky People are always hiding their feelings. You are doing that. It is okay to be sad. It is natural.”
“I’m not hiding it—” You sighed, turning your gaze back to the mushroom seeds. “It’s just one of those days. Maybe—Maybe today I am sad. I could barely get out of bed and tomorrow it might be worse—what are you doing?”
You watched as Neytiri got up and moved behind you. A second later, you feel a brief tugging at your hair until it became loose from your short braid. “If you want to learn our ways, then you must take care of your hair. I look at it and it is a mess.”
“It was in a braid before…”
“I did not like it.”
With that, she got up again and trekked back into the forest. You watched her go in bewilderment at the sudden change of conversation and attitude from the Na’vi woman. You had no idea what had come over the woman or what made her suddenly leave, but you didn’t focus on it for too long. The confusion and startlement you had was enough energy to continue planting the rest of the mushrooms. You didn’t bother putting your hair back into a braid, not wanting to spend time threading through the thick strands until your fingers were too sore to complete your job. And the last thing you needed was something stopping you from finishing this one simple task—
A splash of cold water was suddenly dumped onto your head, leaving you soaking wet.
And terribly pissed.
You snapped your head behind you to find Neytiri placing the leaf down next to her—which was glistening with water. The same water that was now spilled all over you.
“Neytiri—ouch!”
“Hold still.” Neytiri hissed at you as she ran her long fingers through your hair.
You grumbled but reluctantly listened, still confused and a bit pissed at what was going on. And for a while, the two of you remained there. You, sitting on the ground still counting the seeds quietly to yourself while Neytiri stayed behind you. Braiding a few strands of hair.
It was then you realized just how different your hair was from the way it was in your human body. The hair length was very similar to how you used to wear it when you were a teenager. You wondered then just how old this avatar body was.
Once she was finally finished, she crouched down in front of you to get a better look. Her yellow irises scanning your face and her work. Tucking rebellious strands behind your ear, patting down some of the fuzziness, and making sure the braid was visible around your face.
You watched her quietly. And soon, when she was done obsessing over your hair, she watched you too.
It wasn’t the way you and Jake watched each other. This—this had something different about it.
Time was an illusion here. Trapped in her yellow gaze. You hadn’t realized you had been staring for so long—nor did you realize you had briefly glanced at her lips—until a sudden sound from the forest pulled the both of you out of this strange trance.
And once you snapped to your senses, your body quickly reacted. You shot to your feet and cleared your throat, “I gotta check on the avatar now.” You didn’t meet her gaze. “I’ll see you.”
Before she could stop you, you already scurried off. Stopping once you were far enough away out of her sight.
Stopping when you felt a new pair of eyes watching you rather closely.
You glanced around the forest surroundings as you approached the longhouse with a frown until your eyes locked on another pair of yellow eyes. Severe ones.
Tsu’tey was in the trees further away but enough for you to see him watching you, even when you caught him doing so. He did not look away from you. Narrowed eyes and that scowl resting on his angular face.
For a moment you wondered what the look was for. You wondered what he could yell at you about this time, even though you listened to his demands and had stayed away from the Omatikaya territory.
A scared part of you wondered if he had seen you and Neytiri just now.
Nothing happened. But still, it would give enough ammunition for him to verbally attack you. Hate you even more possibly.
Except there would be no battle today. As Tsu’tey disappeared within the trees without a word.
You were confused but relieved at the same time.
Dealing with an angry clan leader was not on your to-do list. Nor were you properly prepared for it.
After watching the trees in silence, you eventually went inside.
Tumblr media
Neytiri watched your retreating figure with a frown, her heart…shifting—only a little bit as you disappeared. Her gaze then moved toward the trees, the area where the sound had come from before. And with an irritated frown, she got up and stalked toward the area.
They were still there. She could feel their eyes on her as she went further into the forest. With a hiss, she glared at the trees, “Come out. Enough hiding!”
Just a little bit above her, a few feet away a familiar warrior snaked out of the bushes and seated himself on the large branch with his usual expression he wore whenever he was away from their shared hut.
Neytiri frowned up at Tsu’tey, “You are watching me.”
“I am watching her.”
After a beat and a quiet sigh, Neytiri climbed up the tree and joined him. Despite his very sour mood, he tugged her close to his side as they sat together. On the branch, they had a good view of the Avatar Compound. A few dreamwalkers were running about but none of them seemed to bother Tsu’tey as much as you did. Neytiri could easily tell with how he kept glaring at the longhouse, the same place she always watched you disappear in whenever you left your false body.
“You have been spending time with her,” Tsu’tey stated more so than asking. There wasn’t much to hide, they both knew Neytiri spent some of her free time visiting you. Only when Tsu’tey or Jake are busy with their duties and she’s finished with hers before the both of them. “I do not like it.”
“She has done nothing.” Neytiri reasoned.
“Yet.”
“And what did I say if she does? I would kill her myself.”
As she said this, Neytiri felt a certain wavering in her heavy words. Like a part of her didn’t believe it anymore.
She rested her head on his shoulder, hugging his arm with a content sigh, “But I cannot ignore what the Great Mother has shown me. She has stopped my bow before and now she’s done it a second time. Do you not think it means something, yawne?”
In the corner of her, she watched as his jaw tightened, his features becoming particularly focused. “I do not trust this.”
“You do not trust the Great Mother?”
“That is not what I mean.” He corrected her calmly. Neytiri knew that Tsu’tey, like any other child of Eywa respected her and trusted in her signs. Always had. That was how he was raised. And she knew he wasn’t about to abandon that because of one demon.
But his words were still reluctant, “I do not know where our Great Mother is leading us. I do not know why she wants that demon spared—when she is just like the rest of them.”
Neytiri considered his words, “Perhaps she is like Jake—”
“There is only one Jake. And she is nothing like him.”
She made a sound of disagreement but didn’t push further on the subject. She noticed how tense he was, how tense he had been for the past week. She wondered then if he was truly upset by this or if there was something more to this quiet anger he so carefully restrained. Of course, his hatred for the Sky People was no question.
But Neytiri knew Tsu’tey.
Skin and bone. Heart and soul.
She knew her mate. Not only as a mate but as a friend. They had grown up together. Along with her sister, Sylwanin. There was nothing he could hide from her even if he tried.
“She may not be like Jake. But clearly, the Great Mother has chosen her for a reason. My mother even allows her to stay—I believe it is time you seek the answers.”
Tsu’tey scoffed but didn’t brush her off. Instead, he leaned in closer, allowing his hand to rest on her growing stomach. “You will be a great Tsahik.”
“Not as great as my mother. Nor my sister.”
Tsu’tey shook his head and cupped her cheek, “You will be great, my beautiful heart.”
A soft smile tugged at her lips only to falter when she noticed how exhausted he truly looked. How close he looked to breaking but hiding it. He could never hide it well from her. Nor Jake.
She then took his face in her hands and whispered soothingly, “What is it, my love?”
Knowing that there was no point in denying a response—knowing that Neytiri would not stop until she got what she wanted—Tsu’tey turned away from her to stare back at the compound.
“The Tipani clan are becoming reckless. They already do not like the Sky People that have stayed—but now that the demon has come, I worry they will begin to take matters into their own hands. I worry…that our clans will begin to clash.”
Neytiri took his hand in hers and pressed a gentle kiss onto his knuckles, “If it comes to it, I will stand by you. Jake will too. But I also will ask you to speak to our Great Mother about your troubles.” She caressed his exhausted lines with a small frown, “I worry for you, Tsu’tey. I do not want you to take on this task by yourself. You have Jake and I to be with you. That is why Eywa brought us together.”
Right then, he seemed to consider her words. His gaze was still unfocused while staring at the longhouse. A silence settled between them.
“Eywa has created this new path for us.” Tsu’tey mused. “Somedays I wonder if it will lead to something good in the end.”
“Do you think it won’t?”
He was silent. And Neytiri didn’t push.
Tumblr media
When Tsu’tey went to the Vitraya Ramunong, the night had already settled around him. When he went to kneel at the tree, connecting his queue to one of the links, his prayers were silent. But his questions were clear. His intention was pure to the Great Mother.
What does it all mean? Guide me, All Mother.
So when a single atokirina flew away from the tree, Tsu’tey took to following it both out of curiosity and apprehension. The Great Mother’s answers weren’t always clear. If anything, her signs only led to more questions.
So, Tsu’tey wondered. He wondered if this would lead to any more answers.
Or just more unwanted questions.
Tsu’tey rushed through the forest, never losing sight of the spirit. He kept going and going until he was nearing the Sky People’s base. Until the trees suddenly became familiar. Until the grounds he had seen many times before unwillingly began to appear around him.
But his body never stopped moving. He never stopped following it. Too desperate for answers. Too desperate, too yearning.
Oh Eywa, he was yearning.
And then, and then, and then.
And then he was staring down at your still false body.
It was strange. Seeing no life in your face. Tsu’tey had only seen your false body from far away, but now seeing you up close. You looked so different yet the same as your human form.
Why was he here? Why did the spirit bring him to…
No.
No.
No.
His vision rippled. Your body morphed from your human form to your false body—impossible.
And then he woke up.
Awake.
Awake.
Awake.
Tsu’tey finally realized where he was. Instead of standing in the middle of the forest chasing an atokirina, instead of standing over your false body, he was back in his hut. With his mates sleeping next to him. With his son cuddled between both Jake and him. With Neytiri hugging his waist from behind.
A dream. It was only a dream.
But why you? Why you?
Why?
“Yawne?” Tsu’tey breathed out a sigh and looked over his shoulder to find Jake shifting out of his sleep, looking at him through heavy eyelids. He sat up a bit, careful not to disturb Neteyam’s sleep as he did, “Another nightmare?”
Tsu’tey hesitated—considered the question. The dream he just had. Was it a nightmare?
“No. I am fine. Go back to sleep, my love.”
Jake didn’t look entirely convinced but eventually lied back down. Usually, it took a while for Jake to fall asleep, so Tsu’tey lay back down, adjusting Neytiri’s arm around his waist and squeezing his other hand on Jake’s shoulder.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Jake asked, his voice deep and sluggish.
Tsu’tey nodded, and tucked his nose into Neteyam’s cheek as gently as he could, “I am now.”
Tumblr media
It took you a little longer to get out of bed the following week. But you managed. You watched a few more of your mother’s logs and even some of the other ones still in the system.
Dr. Augustine. Norm. Some guy named Quaritch. And then there was Jake Sully.
As a human.
You paused the video to examine his face. You suppose the traits matched his now blue form. The only difference was that instead of his longish dreads, he had a buzz cut in the video. And a tattoo poking out of his short sleeve shirt.
Eventually, you moved on, willing yourself to forget his face for the time being.
You also tried not to think about the fact that Neytiri hadn’t been back for about a week now. Which was normal. You didn’t overthink it. Especially not after that moment—
Eventually, you moved on, willing yourself to forget your thoughts about her.
Then you remembered Tsu’tey. Him watching you so closely. You hoped he didn’t see you and Neytiri. Frankly, you weren’t sure what would happen if he did know.
He’d kill you. That’s for sure.
Eventually, you moved on, willing yourself to forget all three of them.
When you finally got out of bed, you continued with your regular schedule and tried to think of literally anything else. You tended to your garden by yourself and continued checking the baby.
There was a bit of determination for yourself, to keep moving. To not stay in one place any longer or else you’d be stuck.
And you weren’t sure if you’d make it out if you did.
Jake continued visiting the tank room whenever he could.
Today was one of them. Only this time you made it before he did.
“How’s the baby?”
You glanced up briefly from your notes, “Healthy. It might be because Na’vi babies might grow faster in pregnancy—judging by that we might have a couple more months before it’s born.”
Jake nodded, his face serious, “Anything else?”
For a brief second you didn’t respond, too caught up in your thoughts until you realized he had asked you a question. Jake tilted his head, brows furrowed at you.
You shook your head eventually, “No, everything’s all normal.”
He stared at the belly for a moment longer before he left. You were somewhat surprised at his quick retreat but didn’t think much about it. He was some type of great warrior, he was probably busy with something else in his clan. If it meant that the two of you didn’t have to interact much with him anymore or probably a lot shorter than before, then you were okay with it.
It seemed he finally took the hint.
All you could do was keep moving.
Jake came again the next day.
This time around you brought out the ultrasound.
He watched you and the machine intensely. You noticed and gave a sound close to a huff or a snort, “Nothing’s wrong with it. I’m just doing a thorough check-up today.”
A quick look of relief crossed his otherwise exhausted features, “Right, right, of course.”
Once you got the ultrasound running and connected to the avatar, you immediately found the heartbeat with the blurry image of the fetus appearing on the screen. It had grown considerably since the first time you saw it.
“There she is.” You mumbled mostly to yourself. The heartbeat was calming in a way, easing your usual tense muscles.
Jake perked up instantly, staring at you in disbelief, “She? It’s a girl?”
You glanced up at him briefly to find a soft expression on his face upon looking at the fetus. Neteyam—who you just noticed attached to his chest—sleepily snuggled closer to his father’s chest. When his head moved out of the sling, Jake held the back of his head, giving it support.
“Yes.” You gave a short nod.
Another look of relief flashed across his face, this time he didn’t try to hide it like before. A small smile tugged at his lips, “That’s—That’s nice. Amazing.”
In the corner of your eye, you watched him. That easy fatherly expression fell upon his face. How soft his smile was, for something that wasn’t even his. You weren’t sure what to think of it—no, you expected it. It was foreign. A father loving his child. To you at least.
You didn’t know your father. Nor did you have a father figure in your life. That type of love was unfamiliar to you.
Love itself was a foreign concept that you could not yet grasp. The only time you could truly say you experienced something close—similar to love—was with your mother.
And if love was like this—heavy. Leaving you…like this.
You weren’t sure you would want to experience any type of love ever again.
“You sure you’re ready to take on another?” You raised your brows, not looking up from the belly.
Jake looked at you, “Do you care for my answer?”
“I am watching over her. I suppose I should make sure she is left with somewhat tolerable parents—that is, if there aren’t any problems with her when she’s born.” You hummed, rolling your eyes at the sudden look of worry on his face. “Relax, that’s the standard check-up of any baby—well, I don’t know how different it will be compared to human ones.”
A beat went by before he finally answered, “I wouldn’t be honest if I said I wasn’t nervous. What new parent isn’t?”
“Mmm.”
The rest of the session was just the two of you, sitting in a somewhat comfortable silence. Comfortable for you because you were able to ignore him without any problems. And Jake wasn’t being too talkative or apologetic, which was a plus. But he was noticeably less hostile toward you as the time went by. Showing that he was taking the truce quite seriously and keeping his end of the bargain.
In other words, the truce was possibly the best option for you both. You could work in peace without being hammered or interrogated. And Jake would continue his visits without any problems.
You still didn’t like him. And you were sure the feelings were mutual.
But things were becoming easier.
And sometimes you like easy. Just as much as a challenge.
Tumblr media
There was a part of him that was curious. Jake didn’t understand it. He didn’t understand Neytiri’s easy trust in you but it only made him more curious as he kept coming to see the baby.
Of course, you were guarded and curt around him. And he was quite the same but that didn’t mean he wasn’t at least a little bit interested in why you were so important to their deity.
So many questions.
A part of him wanted to ask Eywa himself—he wasn’t much used to praying to her but he would now and then out of respect for the People. If he asked, he would possibly gain an answer—which was incredibly rare—or he would gain more questions, which was the more common response.
So, Jake took to finding things out for himself. Even if it meant doing it the hard way. Even if it meant getting his head out of his ass and finally putting things into perspective.
Jake Sully was willing to at least keep this tolerable relationship with you going. Keeping this stable cord steady. You weren’t going anywhere anytime soon. It was time he had to get used to it. It was time for him to get over himself.
And he was willing to show that he did want something different. That he was ready to change, to finally understand you in a way.
But you still didn’t like him. Which was fine.
He didn’t like himself all that much either.
Another week went by and Neytiri still hadn’t come back. Surprisingly, you found yourself missing her. And when you began missing others, you got angry.
Since you didn’t feel like going through that process again, you resolved yourself to thinking that she must’ve gotten busy with her clan. Or grown tired of watching over you and your depressing personality once she realized that you weren’t a threat to her clan.
That must’ve been it. That’s what you chose to believe at that moment.
One day at a time.
You moved forward. Because you had to.
Throughout the week you focused on your work tending to the garden, checking on the baby, and even taking on more responsibilities around Hell’s Gate.
Sometimes you’d help Dr. Patel in the bio labs, other times you went with the other avatars to train your body. There were also days you would help Norm pack different human items he’d usually bring for the Na’vi children of the Omatikaya Clan. You, of course, never ventured too close to their territory whenever you went with him to drop off the items. You’d either stay in the ship you flew in or stay at the base as he left on his own.
Jake still kept coming around but his time there became shorter and shorter with each visit. Again, you didn’t bat an eye. You welcomed it and continued with your work.
Toward the end of your busy and long week, you woke up with a start when a blaring sound struck your room. It had to have been the middle of the night as you looked around frantically, only to realize the sound was coming from your tablet.
Quickly, you grabbed it to find the alarm was the system alerting you something was wrong.
And the problem was coming from the tank room.
You stumbled out of your bedroom and dashed through the long halls until you finally ended up in the tank room. Not caring that you were probably making a bunch of noise in the process.
When you got to Augustine’s tank, your heart sank when you found Grace’s avatar was violently twitching with the lights inside of the tank blaring a red.
“Fuck!” You hissed as you immediately checked for the problem.
The first thing you checked was the avatar itself. Her heart and the baby’s were fine but the avatar’s was slightly elevated, probably in response to whatever was happening to the machine which was the next thing you began to check.
There you discovered that something in it was malfunctioning. Throwing the liquid temperature off, the placentiums weren’t giving any more nutrients like they were supposed to. Whatever was going on, you didn’t have time to fix it or the machine.
If you wasted time like that more damage could be done and you weren’t going to risk that. Especially when the baby was in there. Especially when the baby could receive the worst of your mistake. Of this malfunction.
So, you worked fast.
You searched the room for an empty tank—which you were able to find and rolled it over next to the one Dr. Augustine’s avatar was in. You pulled the empty tank open just as Norm and a few other scientists entered.
“What happened?!” Norm questioned hastily.
Quickly, you jumped down from the empty tank and rushed toward Grace’s, “It’s malfunctioning. I don’t know why but we have to move her.”
Thankfully, Norm didn’t ask any more questions. He ordered the other scientists to help you.
You worked quickly. Draining the rest of the liquid from the tank, carefully moving the avatar—this required multiple hands—until you placed it in the new tank.
“Track her heart rate.” You ordered one of them.
A second later, a woman responded, “Stable but its body temperature’s dropping fast.”
By the time she said that you closed the tank. “Norm, fill it up.”
You jumped down, grabbed the heart monitor from the female scientist, and watched the lines closely. The tank was nearly filled up as Norm came up beside you.
Along with the heart monitor, your heart pounded through your ears as the tank finally filled up. You gave the monitor to Norm and went to adjust the temperature back to the usual settings.
When the blue lights came on it felt as if the room breathed a huge sigh of relief. You took the monitor back as Norm hummed, “Lucky you were the one to get here first. And quick thinking too—do you know what went wrong with the other one?”
The rest of the scientists poured out of the room as you slowly shook your head. “I don’t know. I couldn’t waste time, Spellman. Not when it could’ve risked the baby.”
Norm nodded and patted your shoulder, “You’re right. Good work, Doc.” He moved to the other side of the tank with a thoughtful expression. “You want me to stay and help with anything else?”
The lines on the monitor were stable, which brought you some sense of comfort. And yet the slight panic remained. “No, no. I’m good here. You can go back to bed. I’ll finish up here soon.”
“Okay.” Norm eventually moved toward the exit. “Get some sleep, Reeds. I’m serious.”
You nodded without looking at him. “Yeah, sure. Goodnight.”
“Good morning.” Norm corrected with a tired grin.
With that, Norm left. You breathed in a steady breath before grabbing a chair from the corner of the lab and sinking onto it. The monitor was kept nearby, the heart rate melodic in your ears as you set your tablet down on your lap.
For a while, you studied how far along the avatar was. It had been a good couple of months since you first discovered the child—which left her at about twenty-four to twenty-seven weeks at least. That’s not even counting when she first got pregnant. But compared to a human, the Na’vi pregnancy went by a lot faster, which also confirmed your theory.
Or maybe your perception of time was fucked up with how distracted and busy you had been.
Was that why the malfunction happened? Were you too distracted to notice any faults in the system during your usual sessions? What did happen?
You contemplated this for a while. Until your mind became hazy and your eyes droopy. At some point, you fell asleep next to the tank because there was no way you would leave the fetus’ side at that point. Not after all of that.
It felt as if your eyes had been closed for only a couple of seconds before you were suddenly jolted awake to find Norm standing over you.
“What happened? Is it the tank again?” You instantly asked, turning to check on the tank.
“No, no, no—the—she’s fine!” Norm quickly assured while easing you back into your chair. “I thought I told you to get some sleep.”
You stared at him for a beat, both a tired and an annoyed expression easily falling upon your face. “Well, I assure you I certainly wasn’t sitting with my eyes closed just then.”
Norm winced, “Sorry. I thought you’d want to get in your own bed before Jake gets here.” He rubbed the back of his neck as you got up from the chair. “I had to tell him what happened—he’s flying over now.”
“That’s fine.” You grumbled. “I can stand just one day in the same room with him. Besides, I should probably figure out what went wrong with that tank.”
Norm nodded, “Okay—uh, should I be a mediator for the both of you or..?”
“Oh, please.” You rolled your eyes. “It’s not like I’m meeting their clan leader.”
“You really need to try and get along with him.” Norm chuckled with a shake of his head.
You scowled, “Are you going to keep yapping in my ear about it or be useful?”
“Alright, alright, don’t an ass.” He strolled toward the doorway. “Jake’ll be here in fifteen.”
Once he left, you got to work again. You weren’t an official engineer but you knew a good amount of information from your training back on Earth. You hoisted yourself up and into the tank before you began taking it apart. You stood in it, trying to find out what exactly had gone wrong—while glancing at the heart monitor now and then.
Your brain was moving quickly yet hazily from the sleep. Eyes honed in on the mess of wires in front of you. So distracted by your silent questions and theories that you didn’t hear the incoming footsteps. Only the voice that followed after.
“What happened? Is she okay?”
“Yes, she’s fine.” You replied immediately, watching in the corner of your eye as he approached the new tank. His hair was tied back and across his chest was a leather strap that carried what looked like a machete. “It was just a malfunction with the tank. We were able to get her out before any real damage could be done.”
Jake frowned, “Malfunction? How the hell did you let that happen?!”
“Look, I don’t know.” You replied calmly, ignoring the twitch in your jaw. “I’m still trying to figure all that out. But she’s out of it and fine. Norm helped if that makes you feel better—”
“I thought you had things handled? What happened to that?” Jake scowled, his tone vicious.
“I do.”
“Then what the hell happened—”
“I already said I don’t know!” You seethed, glaring down at the group of wires now hanging from your hands. Somewhere in the back of your brain, you realized that Norm really did have to stand between the two of you. That this truce wasn’t stable enough. That the two of them were just too explosive. “The hell do you think I’m trying to do? Kill the baby?!”
You missed the way Jake’s face faltered slightly, catching himself. “No…No, that’s not what I—”
“Then get off my fucking dick!” You snapped, throwing a piece of the tank to the floor with a clatter.
All sound was gone from the room then.
This was the last thing you wanted to deal with. Being scolded like some child—like you already weren’t beating yourself up over this mess.
You sunk onto the floor of the tank and continued working. Because that’s what you were best at. Not conversations. Not people. Not love.
Work. It was everything to you.
Already you were mentally drowning Jake out, ignoring the fact that there was another person in the room with you. But eventually, you realized that there was nothing wrong with the wires. It must’ve been something else. Another theory down the drain.
Jake uttered your name at one point. And you ignored him.
There was a sigh followed by a short pause before he spoke, “I’m sorry.” You continued ignoring him. There was something about his apologies. You were just tired of them. “That wasn’t fair, you’re right. I shouldn’t have come at you like that—”
“Augustine’s avatar is over there.” You mumbled. “You can check on her yourself.”
There was another silence but you were too focused on what was in front of you to notice or care. You were so determined to ignore him and the sting in the corners of your eyes.
You didn’t like to cry. Especially in front of others.
Thankfully, you ignored him long enough until you realized you were finally alone.
After a while, you breathed out a tired sigh.
Fortunately, as the days went by there were no other problems with the new tank or baby, but it didn’t stop you from always double-checking everything after that close call. So much so that you didn’t realize how much sleep you were missing until Norm pulled you away from your work and forced you back into your room. Locked the door and everything just to make his point.
With the promise of Norm taking care of your work, you eventually allowed yourself to sleep for practically the entire day. Not without the tablet on the dresser next to your bed of course.
Even after catching up on some semblance of sleep, Norm still didn’t let you get back to your schedule right away. Which irritated you of course.
“I don’t want you in my garden, Spellman.”
He rolled his eyes, “And I don’t want you stressing yourself out. As your friend and colleague who happens to care about your well-being, I demand you stay away from the garden until you’re completely rested.”
You frowned at him, “We’re friends?”
“Shut up and accept my love.”
And he kept true to his word. Norm kept you away from the gardens, even the tank room. And made sure that the scientists knew how to keep you away as well. He covered all of his bases.
Damn him.
You couldn’t sit around and do nothing though. So, at some point you were so desperate you resorted to practically begging Norm to just give you something to do that would distract you throughout the whole day. You nagged and nagged and nagged until Norm finally gave in.
“There’s an old link shack north of Hell’s Gate. We’ve been thinking about restoring all of them around the area. But that particular shack’s connection is a little wonky. Maybe you could head over and restock the supplies with your avatar. Maybe even fix the connection while you’re at it.”
You nodded quickly, “Yeah, sure thing. I’ll get on that—”
“And don’t try to sneak your way to the gardens!” Norm added sternly, sending you a look over his shoulder while clicking away at his computer. “Plus, you won’t need the Samson ships. The shack’s not too far from here.”
With that, you went to grab supplies, such as med kits, weapons—one gun and a few stacks of ammo—blankets, Na’vi weapons, a hunting knife, and a bow with a few arrows. You kept the hunting knife to yourself just in case.
After getting all of this, you placed the bag of supplies in the compound longhouse where your avatar always slept when you weren’t linked. Once you got to your link bed and linked up with your avatar, you grabbed the hunting knife and the bag of supplies before taking off north from Hell’s Gate.
The sky was grey today with a few darker clouds on the horizon instead of the shimmering blue you were used to. A storm might’ve been coming.
Which meant you had to make this trip quick. There was no telling how bad these storms could get on this planet.
Similar to how you traveled through the forest with Neytiri, you took to the trees so that you’d have less of a chance of running into or disturbing any of Pandora’s finest. Hopefully, you had learned to be quiet enough to not draw any attention your way as well.
As time went by, the sky got darker. You followed the coordinates Norm gave you while slipping through the trees like the true shadow you were. Traveling and climbing through the trees got easier as you went. You had done it enough times with Neytiri that you knew what to do and how to do it. Albeit not perfectly, but enough to get by. Blending into the environment as best as you could.
You enjoyed it, the vibrant life and colors of the forest once again. Every time felt like you were taking in Pandora for the very first time. Every time felt like a huge breath of the freshest air. Here, you were weightless. You weren’t a scientist. You weren’t human. You weren’t an avatar. You were just were.
You existed here. You were real.
Truly this place was everything you dreamed of when you were younger.
Rain began to pour by the time you spotted the shack. It was propped up and well hidden in a large tree, with moss growing out of the sides, the entire thing looking like it hadn’t been used in a long time.
You slid down from a branch as quietly as you could and landed in front of the metal entrance. By the time you got the door open and crouched inside, you were soaking wet from the rain.
The shack itself wasn’t too small, which surprised you. It must’ve been made to allow avatars to be able to roam freely through here without too much trouble.
Once the door was closed, you sunk onto the empty cot in the corner of the shack and began unpacking the supplies. The med kit went into the cabinets above a wooden table attached to the wall. The blankets went on the cot. The gun and ammo went under the cot in a long black case filled with old and rusted weapons you had to throw out into the rain. You kept the hunting knife tucked in your shorts.
The rain kept going. It was relaxing. Stopping for a moment to listen. Smelling it through the cracked window next to the cot you sat on.
It was nice. You could stay here if you wanted. This could’ve been your new home if you didn’t have responsibilities at Hell’s Gate.
Lastly, you worked on the radio that sat on the wooden table—which you assumed was connected to the main base. So, for the next few minutes, you took your time messing with the radio. Listening to either ongoing static or barely audible voices going in and out. At some point, you messed with the wires a few times before Norm’s voice finally came through.
“Tomato. Tomato. Tomato.”
You pressed one of the buttons, “Hey, Norm.”
“Oh, Jesus! Reeds!” Norm startled. “Warn a guy next time!”
You pressed your lips into a thin line, “I just wanted to test if it worked. Clearly, I fixed it.”
A snap of thunder drew you away from the radio. Seemed like it was getting worse out there. You hadn’t realized how long you’d been out there until now.
Norm seemed to realize this too, “You gonna stay there and unlink?”
“Mmm.” You paused. “I’m gonna try bringing the avatar back.”
He sighed, “Alright, good luck.”
“Don’t need it.” You said as you got up. “I’m too awesome.”
“Whatever, Reeds.”
Another clap of thunder filled the air as you stepped out of the shack. Immediately you were soaked by how heavy the rain was.
Thunder continued to boom, making your skin jump every now and then. It was just terribly cold, making you start to run so that you could get out of it faster.
You ran and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, only to realize just how much noise you were making and that the area was too unfamiliar to you. It wasn’t long until you realized how lost you were. It was just too dark to navigate your way back or recognize any familiar spots guiding your way.
With that in mind, you went toward the nearest tree and began to climb.
But your body was yanked away from the tree bark almost instantly as you were tackled down to the ground by a large weight. Your left shoulder exploded with vicious pain as if a bunch of sharp knives buried itself into your skin and continued to tear through it.
A strangled scream left your lips as the thunder clapped in the sky once more. You could barely see the creature but it was a dark, large beast. Digging further into your shoulder.
You hadn’t even seen it coming. You hadn’t been paying attention.
Now…
Now you might die because of it.
You tried shoving at it, managing to get most of its weight off of you. But the teeth were still in your shoulder. There was still pain. There was still warm liquid dripping down your arm.
When you moved your leg, you remembered the hunting knife in your shorts. Immediately, you dug into your pocket and found the handle instantly.
After that, you didn’t waste any time stabbing at it blindly and desperately. You did this, you kept going until more warm liquid covered your knife-wielding arm. You did this until the animal was limp against your body. Until you were able to push it off and scramble to your feet and run.
The pain was awful but bearable enough for you to run back to the shack at least. Mud was all over your clothes—some of it in your mouth. If anything, you probably looked insane right now.
You ran. Ran. Ran. Ran. Ran. Way too clumsy to be quiet. What’s worse was you had no clue where you were. And there was more shuffling coming from the bushes and trees surrounding you. If anything, you were probably throwing yourself further into the lion’s den.
It wasn’t long until a black creature suddenly came out of the bushes in front of you, causing you to stumble to a stop as it made its way toward you. Sleek and dangerous. Eyes locked on you.
Thunder boomed again. An identical creature came out from your right. Another on your left. Another. And another. And another.
Until you were surrounded. Until you knew there was no way you were going to make it out of this.
You kept your knife in front of you, trying to ignore the pain in your shoulder, the warm liquid running down your arm, the shakiness in your legs. You began to wonder how much blood you were losing with your energy slowly dwindling as time went by—no, it didn’t matter.
Damn it, you weren’t going to die here! Not like this.
“Come on!” You hissed as you pointed the knife at them. “Come on!”
They growled at you, closing in. Finally, one of them pounced toward you. With the knife, you slashed at it. At that, the creature cringed away and missed you entirely but that didn’t mean the others were going to try their luck.
Out of instinct, you stumbled back as two more tried coming for you. Your back hit a tree as you yelled and swung your knife wildly at them.
Only neither the creature nor your blow landed.
The two creatures were thrown to the side as another clap of thunder struck your ears.
Another figure emerged from the trees and rushed toward you.
Instantly, you swung the knife, only for it to be caught in an iron grip.
You screamed.
“Hey, hey, easy!”
It took you only a couple of moments for you to register the words and that they were coming from a familiar avatar. The last person you ever expected to be here.
Jake lowered your arm with a hiss. You blinked as another round of thunder rattled your ears.
The creatures were closing in again. Jake turned his back to you, hissing at them. His larger arm stretched in front of you protectively when one of them got a little too close for his liking. The creature hissed back
You watched warily behind him, still clutching the dirtied knife. Both of you exhausted and animalistic. Yellow eyes glimmering. One with warning and the other with desperation.
Jake looked terrifying in this light. Just as murderous and dangerous as the animals that surrounded you.
You remained behind him, trembling but glaring. Gripping that knife like your life depended on it.
There was suddenly more shuffling, more thunder, and the creatures then scattered.
You, dumbfounded by this, spoke shakily, “Why did they—”
Jake grabbed your wrist holding the knife.
“We need to move.” He said, dragging you forward.
The two of you ran in the opposite direction of the creatures. He hauled you up a tree before climbing up himself. “Is there a link shack nearby?”
For a moment, you wondered how he knew about the link shacks. You leaned on a branch both to catch your breath and because the quick movements left you a bit dizzy. When you couldn’t come up with plausible answers to your silent question you instead said, “I just came back from one. North from here—I don’t know how far it is.”
Your body leaned a little too far. Jake was quick to grab you in his stronger, more stable arms as he pulled you away from falling off the edge, “Hey, hey, Reeds, I need you here with me, okay? Just stay awake long enough until we get to the shack and we’ll clean you up.”
“I’ve...I’m losing a lot of…” Blood. Blood was what you wanted to say. But the adrenalin was wearing out. Your shoulder throbbed horribly. Exhaustion weighed you down and placed inconvenient black spots in your vision.
“I know.” He draped your good arm over his shoulder and kept you upright. “I know, we’ll get there. I promise.”
There was no arguing with him. You were soaked to the bone and in a hell of a lot of pain. Going back to the shack was your best bet in this horrid weather.
Jake continued to support your weight as the two of you followed the same coordinates leading back to the shack—or rather you haze inaudible directions of what you could remember from the information Norm had given you while Jake haphazardly followed.
Thankfully, the rest of the way wasn’t a long journey. Or maybe you just kept blacking in and out along the way, you didn’t know.
Jake and you stumbled through the door of the shack. He closed the door while you made your way to the radio with whatever strength you had left.
“Norm.” You tapped the radio while wincing. The pain in your shoulder was getting worse. Before now you had been tolerating it. “Norm, can you hear me?”
The static went on.
“Storm must be messing with the signal,” Jake said from behind you as he rummaged through the shack. “We should stay here until the storm settles—”
You rested your head against the small table, the rest of his words becoming nothing but muffled noise to your ears. God, you’ve lost so much blood. And you were so tired.
For a moment, just for a few seconds, you wanted to sleep. Only for a moment.
“Reeds.”
A larger hand rested on the back of your neck, bringing you slightly out of your unconsciousness.
Jake kept calling your name. “Hey, where’s the med kits at? We need to work on your arm, okay? And I need you to stay awake. Can’t have you unlinking in this condition.”
Sluggishly, you nodded, “They’re in the cabinets.”
More thunder rolled by. Jake left your side briefly to search through the cabinets above you. You leaned back in your seat, staring bleakly up at the ceiling.
“How long do these storms last?” You asked.
The thunder responded with a clap.

Midnight Blues
Rafayel x Reader || Mild Insomnia, Comfort || 1 184 words
a/n: my toxic trait is pretending im a singer and compiling songs into albums and naming them and midnight blue is the name of the hypothetical album that encapsulates falling in love with rafayel and i guess i could make a playlist bc thats the normal thing to do but i just name fanficitions after them ig. also this is based off his treasure secret time - idgaf about the mensturation i only care about the fact that hums your ass to rest and the lore drop that is rafayel calling you at night when the two of you first start met bc it would help you sleep
You can hardly remember what nights were like before without the sound of his voice in your ears.
Tumblr media
You sigh as you sink into your bed, staring up at the ceiling after doing another quick lap around the house to try and tire yourself out. Your body is tired, you know it is. You just wish that you could sleep, not at all excited about the prospect of having to go to work tomorrow after being unable to sleep all night.
You’re about to start your nightly routine of tossing and turning when your phone suddenly starts to ring. A smile makes its way onto your face as you recognise the caller ID, putting your phone against your ear and humming lightly to alert the other side to your presence.
“You’re still awake, huh?” Rafayel’s teasing tone asks through the phone. The two haven’t known each other long but that didn’t seem to bother Rafayel in the slightest.
“Yeah,” you sigh, putting your phone on speaker next to you on the pillow.
All it took was falling asleep one time in a conversation with him for Rafayel to pounce on that and decide to take advantage of it. You swore up and down that it was a mistake, that it wasn’t because of Rafayel that you fell asleep but deep down you know that something about that silky smooth timbre of his voice made your worries go away. You’d never slept so soundly, mortified at the teasing text that he sent you when you read it in the morning.
However, you had to admit defeat and let the man do whatever he wanted. Even before you met him it was clear that Rafayel didn’t care much for whatever the people around him want. He does as he pleases and now, it seems that he’s convinced you won’t sleep without him talking to you.
“If you wanted me to call you all you had to do was ask,” he says after a while, letting you get settled in bed.
“I’m grown. I can take care of myself,” you reply, Rafayel imagining a slight pout on your features as you did so.
“Ah, I see. So you don’t need me to talk you to sleep then? I’ll hang up then.”
“Wait!” you shout quickly, shooting out of bed and grabbing your phone.
“Don’t…don’t go. Please?”
“Begging now? I guess if you’re that desperate for my company I’ll give it to you.”
You can hear how smug he is, rolling your eyes at how obvious his tells are. You wonder how Thomas hasn’t figured him out yet – Rafayel isn’t nearly as sneaky as he seems to think he is.
“Are you driving?” you ask after a second, settled back into bed again and listening carefully to his end of the call.
“I’m heading back from an exhibition. I could have booked a hotel but I didn’t feel like staying the night there so I’m making the long drive home. I called you to see if you’d keep me company.”
You tug your blankets around yourself, losing yourself in their warmth as you yawn. The exhaustion begins to sit on your shoulders again but this time, it feels more manageable. His voice swims around your head as he starts rambling about the exhibition. You’re glad to hear that it went off without a hitch, having declined his invitation yourself due to a more urgent task of the day.
“Are you even listening to me?” he asks, bringing your attention back to him.
“Hmm? Yeah, sellers bullying you, people hitting on you, same old same old,” you mumble, burying yourself further into your bed.
“If you didn’t like it that much, why didn’t you just make something up to get out of it?”
“I couldn’t bail on Thomas again. I felt bad for him constantly fielding off journalists and this show was supposedly a big deal so I decided to do him a favour. Plus, I blew off all the shows so far this month so I might as well make myself seen at a more important one.”
Leave it to Rafayel to make doing his job seem like a favour to someone else. Even if he acts like he’s got his head in the clouds you know he’s genuinely kind – if you’ve got the patience to go digging through the layers that make up the enigmatic artist. You feel thankful that the world brought you to him, even if you weren’t sure what the budding feeling in your chest is.
“You had a long day, huh? I can hear it in your voice.”
You give him another hum, not wanting to bother with any words.
“Even if I ask you a question you don’t need to reply. It’s getting late and I won’t be home for at least another hour. I really did just want your company you know. I’m glad that you answered my call. It would have been miserable if I had to drive home all alone.”
It doesn’t take Rafayel much time to start rambling at you again. You don’t know how he manages to find anything and everything to say to you and keep himself entertained, laughing at his own jokes and taking the soft noises you make as jumping off points to completely go on a new tangent.
When he hears your light snores and steady breathing, he smiles to himself. The sound of your breath surrounds him in his car and if he weren’t such a responsible driver, he’d close his eyes just to pretend that he’s laying in bed with you.
Normally, Rafayel was perfectly content driving home in silence, finding the long expanse of road the perfect opportunity to ground himself after all of the cameras and people in his face. Honestly, he only left when he did to make sure he’d be able to call you at the same time he did every night. Your inability to sleep well worried him and even if you didn’t fully understand the extent of his feelings towards you, he wouldn’t let that get in the way of taking care of you. You make him happy after all, especially when he hears you try to rouse yourself from sleep in a desperate attempt to show him that you’re listening to him. The mental image of your sleepy eyes trying to focus on his face makes his heart melt, impatiently tapping his finger against the steering wheel at the annoyance of being unable to call you his just quite yet.
Even when he gets home, he doesn’t hang up on you. He’s careful to do his nightly routine quietly, using the sound of your breathing as his favourite symphony and he settles down for the night himself. He even continues to speak to you softly, wanting to make sure that his voice lulls you into a truly restful slumber. He thinks about you a lot and being able to help you in any form always makes his heart feel so full.
He won’t admit that talking to you on these late nights makes him sleep well too, putting his phone on the pillow beside him before falling asleep to thoughts of you.

Unexpected (Pedro Pascal x Fem Reader)
18+ NSFW: Please do not interact with my posts if you are under 18.
Summary: Your called-off engagement has left you dating shitty men and having even shittier sex. Luckily, your best friend Pedro is always there to cheer you up and keep you entertained.
You always thought of Pedro as a friend, nothing more. Someone you can hang out with at the ungodly hours of the night when no one else was awake, you could count on him to be up. Ever since you’ve been living on your own in your home you’ve felt lonelier than ever. Your engagement to the man you thought was your soulmate had been called off almost 5 months now but it has yet to get easier.
Mindless, no strings attached flings here and there surely kept you occupied, but never pleased. Going out on dates with men you knew only wanted one thing, and spoke big game on their performance but always failed to deliver when you actually fucked.
Tonight was no different and you just wanted this guy out of your house. He was jabbering on about something you weren’t even paying attention to, you were just nodding your head and zoning out.
“Listen, I don’t feel so good. I think I want to lay down and sleep the night off. I’ll call you tomorrow, ok?” you said to him.
“Sure, no problem (Y/N), it was great meeting you,” he sheepishly smiled as you walked him over to the door. Not giving him any ounce of a hint that you needed or wanted a goodbye kiss. Turning around and slumping onto the couch, you grabbed your phone and called Pedro.
“Hey Pedrito,” you said to him and chuckled.
“Hey mama, what’s up?”
“Just ended my date, he was going on about some bullshit like crypto or something I almost fell asleep, no joke and he kept staring at my tits all. night.” you turned around and laid on your back, “Are you up to anything tonight? I’m bored.”
“No I’m free, I’ll be there in about 20,” he hung up and you pushed yourself off the couch to get yourself unready for the night. This part of your night was your favorite, almost ritualistic when you thought about it.
You were in the middle of brushing through your hair and you heard your doorbell ring. Making your way to the front door you opened it to a smiling Pedro, holding a bottle of your favorite liquor.
“I had some of your favorite so I figured I’d bring it with me,” he stepped in to the door and gave you a peck on the cheek, “Good to see you.”
“You too. I’ll get us some glasses.”
Pedro made his way into your living room, the glow from the pool in your backyard reflecting onto the ceiling, making silver ripples bounce and dance on the wooden beams. You walked out with glasses in hand and Pedro was standing in front of the sliding glass door looking outside at the pool.
“I think we should go for a swim.”
“What about a float swim? I don’t want to get my hair wet,” you said, recalling the labor you just went through to get your hair to its current state.
“What is a float swim?” he chuckled and raised an eyebrow.
“You know...just sit on our floats in the water. No swimming involved,” you said to him, “A float swim.”
“Ah, make sense. I’ll meet you out there.” he scurried to your guest bathroom to get changed.
You made you way into your bedroom to put on your bathing suit. Most of your suits barely covered anything on your body, your ass was out and your breasts peeking out of the sides of the triangle shaped fabric that hardly covered them.
You and Pedro floated around for awhile, sipping on your vodka martinis and laughing about the stories you told each other. Soon you felt too prune-y and figured it was time to get out, plus it was getting a little chilly. As Pedro so lovingly pointed out and joked about your nipples being hard enough to cut glass.
You stepped into the guest bathroom to go pee and hang up your bathing suit, your normal routine since you didn’t have room to hang up your bathing suit in your master bath. Naked and drying yourself off, you heard the door knob move and turned around to see Pedro. He didn’t even realize you were in there until he looked up.
“Oh god, sorry (Y/N), sorry,” he swiftly moved to step back out of the door frame. Slightly embarrassed but not enough to make things awkward, you finished drying yourself off and wrapped your towel around yourself.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t notice the light was on, I should’ve knocked.”
“Pedro,” you walked over to him and placed your hand on his arm, “it's okay. I think we’re bound to see each other naked at some point.”
You’re not really sure why you even said that, the vodka was definitely speaking more so than you thought.
“Sorry, that came out differently than I thought it sounded in my head,” you chuckled nervously, “but seriously, don’t worry.”
Pedro moved closer to you, “So, you want me to see you naked?”
Your cheeks felt hot, you could feel his gaze on you and you tried to avoid eye contact with him.
“Have you thought about me like that, (Y/N)?”
You nodded your head yes. Pedro was inches from your face now, he used his finger to tilt your chin up, your faces nearly touching. You inhaled his scent, his familiar scent. He caressed your cheek with the back of his hand, you leaned into his hand fluttering your eyes closed. Nerves and bubbling excitement coursed through you. Never did you think you’d be in this position with Pedro of all people. You’d thought about him romantically, sure and when you first met him you had a crush on him, but he was taken – so friends it was. But now, it was different.
Pedro came closer to you and kissed your lips. Gentle but with so much passion and want you could hardly contain yourself. You ran your hands along his bare arms, still droplets of water on them from the pool. You laced them into his hair, nudging his head closer to your face. He pulled away and looked into your eyes.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” he looked at you intently, “Cause if we do this, I don’t think I’m going to be able to stop.”
You bit your lip and looked into his eyes as you crashed your lips back onto his. He backed up and you both made your way into the kitchen. He grabbed you by your waist and plopped you on top of the counter. The cold ceramic counter against your bare ass make you squeal but you kept your lips locked. Sloppily tonguing at each other, letting saliva coat each other’s lips.
Pedro made his way down towards your collar bones, stopping to lick and suck on the sensitive part of your neck. Giving you goosebumps all along your body. He lowered your towel and exposed your breasts instantly latching his mouth around your nipple. Cupping your breast and kneading it with his calloused hands. You threw your head back letting out small whimpers as he teased the sensitive bud and send waves of pleasure to your core.
Subconsciously spreading your legs to rub your pussy on him, needing even an ounce of friction to ease the pleasurable pain.
“Patience baby girl, I’ll help your little aching pussy soon,” he growled as he continued to suckle on your breasts. You could see his hard on in his swim trunks, you certainly didn’t think Pedro was small but you never thought he was that big. You thought about his thick cock entering you and bit your lip.
“Pedro, please baby,” you begged him, your cunt dripping with wetness. Pedro grabbed your legs and lifted them up, your pussy off the edge of the counter, totally exposed to him and he was aching to devour you.
“So pretty baby, your pussy is so pretty,” he said, looking you in the eye as he licked his tongue from your entrance up to your clit, “Mmm, and you’re so wet for me mama.”
You were practically already about to cum at his words. You mercilessly rubbed and rolled your hips against his tongue as he sucked and lapped at your clit. The wet, obscene sound filling your ears was like music. He slid in two of his fingers into your entrance, you could hear how wet you were and he was fingering you so perfectly you were on the verge of screaming.
He continued at his pace, licking and sucking and fingering you into oblivion, until you couldn’t take it any longer. “I’m gonna cum baby,” you whined to him, gripping his hair.
“Cum in my mouth mama, come on,” he talked you through it and your core contracted around his fingers, the pleasure bursting from your belly. He continued fingering you through your orgasm, “Yeah that’s it baby. Cum for me.”
You breathlessly propped yourself up, ready to please him and aching to have his cock in your mouth. Your lips locked once more as he grabbed you from your ass and led you to the bedroom. Sitting down on your knees on the carpeted floor, you pulled down his swim shorts.
His cock spring out, his head glistening with drops of pre cum that made your mouth water. You puckered your lips onto his tip, swirling your tongue around it before deep throating his length into your mouth. He practically growled as he dropped his head back, shallow breaths escaping his lips every time you bobbed your head up and down.
“Yes (Y/N), your pretty little mouth feels so good,” he said to you, gathering your hair into a ponytail in his hand, “Sucking on my cock so good, my little slut.”
He thrusted his cock into your mouth, drool dropping onto your tits as it spilled from the sides of your mouth. You crept your hand up to cup his balls, Pedro straining to not cum right then and there.
He pulled his cock out of your mouth and you rose up off of your knees, towards the bed.
“Turn around mama,” you obliged and Pedro gently nudged your top half to the mattress. You stuck your ass up and buried your face into your duvet. A sharp smack to your ass made you yelp and Pedro let out a soft hum as he rubbed the reddened area. He ran his tip along your folds, collecting your wetness before plowing himself into you.
Your walls stretched out to accommodate his size, almost painful at first but the pleasure quickly overpowered it as he rolled his hips and stuffed his cock into your pussy.
“Pedro, oh my god baby,” you said to him, gripping the comforter as he plowed into you, hitting your spot perfectly every time.
“Baby, I’m gonna cum. Holy fuck. You feel so good, so big.”
“Cum on my cock princess, I wanna hear you scream.”
Your moans were feral, your walls clenched around his cock. You were seeing stars and you could feel the heat of his seed coating your walls and he smacked and gripped your ass. You lifted the top of your body up, leaning back into his chest. Taking in his scent and feeling his chest heave up and down quickly.
“That was...amazing,” you said to him, thighs shakily trying to keep yourself up.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that,” he said and sensually kissed your neck, leading his way to your lips and wrapping his arms around your waist as he squeezed you tightly.

Pool Party | Surprise Visit | T | No CWs | Minor Swearing
For Day 2 of the Steddie Back to School Bash @thehairandthebanished
Steve woke up from his nap on the couch to a knock on the door. As he was rubbing his eyes and sitting up, the knocks turned into pounding. His eyes shot open and his heart started racing.
He rushed over the door and threw it open. Standing outside were all seven of the kids.
“What’s going on? Is it a Code Red?” he asked frantically, looking Dustin over for injuries.
Dustin brushed him off and pushed past into the house. “No! We came to use your pool!”
The kids filed in behind him, only Will having the sense to at least be a little sheepish. Well, he could forgive El at least. She was still figuring some social stuff out, and with these hooligans dragging her around…
“Sorry, Steve,” Will muttered as he passed.
“You didn’t think to, you know, call me first? Let alone ask?” Steve asked, incredulous.
Dustin scoffed. “Like you were doing anything important today.”
“I could have been,” Steve mumbled mostly to himself.
Raising his voice to actually be heard, he said to the kids, “Fine. Go swim. I’m not feeding you, though. You need to go home at dinnertime.” Lies, and the kids knew it too. Come 6PM, he’d be ordering a few pizzas for them with whatever toppings they wanted.
He barely finished speaking before they rushed through the house to head to the pool. “Walk!” he yelled after them. Of course, no one listened.
Steve sighed and headed over to the phone in the kitchen and dialed a number he knew well by now. It only rang a couple times before he heard the click of an answer.
“Y’ello?” the voice came down the line.
“Hey, Eddie.”
“Steve!” Eddie’s voice brightened up. “What has you calling me on this fine Saturday afternoon? Is this about our plans tomorrow?”
Steve rushed to assure him. “No, no. We’re still good for tomorrow! It’s just… the kids all showed up out of nowhere.”
“Wait, what? To your house?”
“Yeah!” Steve complained. “They didn’t call or anything. They just showed up and pounded on my door and demanded to use the pool!”
“What little shits!”
“Yeah. So I figured you might want to come hang out with me and help supervise. Make sure none of them decide to drown each other?” Steve asked shyly.
There was a brief pause. “Yeah, course, Stevie. I’ll be over in 15.”
True to his word, Eddie was there in 14 minutes exactly, clad in swim shorts, a tee, and sandals. He didn’t even bother knocking, just walking right in.
Steve was leaned against the counter in the kitchen, waiting for him. As soon as he heard Eddie coming in, his face lit up. “Hey!”
“Hey, back, sweetheart,” Eddie responded. “Kids all outside?”
Steve double-checked, looking toward the back door. “Yeah.”
“Good,” Eddie said, before kissing Steve.
Steve moaned in contentment and wrapped his arms around Eddie’s neck. “Missed you,” he said when they parted.
“Missed you too, baby,” Eddie whispered.
He pulled back, “Now let’s go handle the brats!” He hurried to the back door, kicking off his sandals and pulling off his tee as he went.
Before Steve even got to the door, he heard a giant splash and all the kids yelling in response.
He just smiled and joined them.

Eywa's Will
Tonowari x Reader x Ronal
Summary: You were passed out on the shore when they found you, now they found out you were to be their new mate. It's all Eywa's will, this was supposed to teach them to be better people.
It took me so long to write this. I kept procrastinating and not feeling the story but now I have finished, finally.
Warnings - smut, size kink, breeding kink
You woke up face first in the sand, you slowly started to move around that’s when you noticed and heard the people around you. You wondered what had happened, you tried to figure out what was going on. You looked up at all the faces around you, you were so lost. That's when it clued into what happened earlier, the rock that hit you. The man next to you helped you to sit up.
“What happened to you?”
“I was out looking at the plants and then I was knocked out,” you lifted your hand to rub your head.
You heard a gasp from the lady next to the man, “she is a demon.” She placed her hand on the shoulder of the man and backed up.
Only then did you realize that your hands were different, you were an avatar. You had been laying on your hands, one under your stomach and the other covered by your head.
“I am a botanist, I study plants. I was given this body to better understand the reef plants. I was brought out here for the day with the other soldiers and they knocked me out. I do not know why. I just came out here to look at the plants I do not really know where I am to be honest. I have mostly stayed around the Omaticaya people. The reef is mostly unknown to me and the others. They decided to give me a reef body to learn more.”
“Why would you come out here?”
“I got told to. I do not like the people I take orders from but do not really get a choice.”
The man helped you stand up fully, you looked at them, you didn’t know what to do. There were other reef Na’vi around you holding spears, you just imagined it was just in case.
“You will stay with us till we can figure out how to get you home,” the man said clasping his hand onto your shoulder.
“You do not have to do that. I know I do not belong.”
“We will not let you fend for yourself and starve. We are not monsters. I am the Olo’eyktan, Tonowari. This is the Tashik, Ronal.”
“I figured. Thank you very much for letting me stay. I honestly do not know where I am or what I would have done.”
“Follow me, you will ride with me back to the other island. We will teach you the way of the waters starting tomorrow.”
“Thank you very much. I am honoured to learn.”
They took you back to the island and showed you around their clan. Then they showed you a marui you could stay in for now.
“Have you ever hunted before?”
“Not here. I have as a human. I have not even hunted when I was in the rainforest. This is my first time out in this body. I have been training but stayed close to home. I do not know why they left me. My brain is hurting from thinking of all the reasons.”
“Luckily, you are still new to things then you will have no problem catching onto things here. Do you swim well?”
“I did swimming lessons as a human as I was pretty good but I imagine things will be different in this body. I imagine these fins will give me extra speed.”
“You are correct. I am looking forward to seeing you swim tomorrow and taming an ilu.”
“I am excited.”
“As for why your people left you, I am sure we will figure it out in due time. Do not beat yourself up too much. Bad people do bad things and they hurt the ones who do good things.”
“I have a sneaking suspicion that it is because we are sympathizers and it was easier to get rid of me. They knew I would die out here.”
“Sympathizers?”
“Some of us back at the base that have Na’vi bodies to link into have become very close with the Na’vi people, cultures, and life that we do not want it to be destroyed. So, we are trying to stop it. They do not like that.”
“Who?”
“The RDA. It's the organization that brought us here. They are here for a resource and money. The resource is abundant in the rainforest and they will tear it apart to get it.”
“You and others have fake bodies and speak our language?”
“Some of us have bodies and most of the people with a body speak your language to some degree.”
“It is nice to see you try. Take your time to rest. I will get you in the morning, I will also bring some new clothing by in the morning.”
“Thank you again, Tonowari.”
He left and you let out a sigh of relief, you were scared to delink. You almost didn’t want to sleep; you were surprised that being knocked out didn’t cause you to unlink. You were excited for what was to come, hearing about Jake’s life being accepted by the Omaticaya people made you want to experience that.
Tonowari went to his mauri to see his wife looking very upset, she didn’t want you here.
“Don’t give me that look.”
“Why did you let her stay?”
“Tsireya said Eywa led her to the demon. That has to mean something. You are tashik, you interpret the signs of Eywa. What do you think? She speaks our language and she told me she and others are being hunted for trying to help the Na’vi from the sky people.”
“I feel there is a reason for her being here I am just unsure as to what that is at the moment.”
“Only time can tell then. I think it is a good choice. She has good knowledge that may help us if sky demons ever make it this far out too.”
“You don’t think that’s why Eywa placed her here?”
“No, I think it is because she is deserving of kindness and she isn’t getting it elsewhere.”
“Do you feel a connection to her?”
“Do you?”
“I asked you first, Wari.”
“I feel as though I do and I am unsure why. Maybe it is because I wish to help her, I feel bad for her. She had mentioned how she was left by her people and betrayed. She even said that she knows she doesn’t belong and if she can pick that out, she probably does not get along with her people either.”
“You really are too kind, my love. You read too much into other’s emotions. As for me, I also feel some connection. What the connection is or what it means is something I have yet to have learned. I guess in due time we will know.”
“Tomorrow I will be with her as I help her tame an ilu and get her acquainted around here.”
“We will see if the feeling develops. I may try to reach out to Eywa tomorrow as well to see if she can give me insight into these feelings we have with her.”
The next morning Tonowari went to the place you were staying in for the time being and brought you some food and new clothes. You were already up and walking around, one of his people pointed him in your direction, and you were walking along the beach. He smiled as he watched you walk around in the sand; he took a moment to watch you. You looked like you belonged here like you were in your element, he couldn’t help but smile. He was starting to head over closer to the shore when he saw you walk into the water and he paused again.
He couldn’t believe his eyes, in all his years he had never seen this, you walked up to an ilu that swam up to you. He had never seen an ilu so comfortable as to swim up to anyone and on top of that, the fact that you felt comfortable enough to meet it halfway. He watched as you placed a hand on its head and lightly pet the creature, he was in disbelief. Even more so when you made tsaheylu and climbed on and started to ride around on its back in the general area. He couldn’t believe it, it was like you were made to be here, like every creature here could trust you.
Maybe that’s what their feeling was? Maybe everything felt that way about you, fauna, flora, and the Na’vi people. Was this what Eywa alluding to?
There were so many questions, Tonowari went back to his mauri to see Ronal, she had to hear this. He also wanted to ensure she made contact with Eywa today, he needed to know what this demon girl meant.
“Ronal, you will not believe what I just saw.”
“What did you see?”
“That girl, she just tamed an ilu on her own. The ilu swam up to her and she met it in the water. She bonded with it and went riding around the shores.”
“I must speak with Eywa, we must know what she is.”
“I think that is smart. She is very strong.”
“Go, let her eat and change.”
Tonowari left and went to the beach, you were still riding around the shores and you looked as happy as ever. He stopped on the sand and waved you over, you stopped as close to the shore as possible got off your ilu and walked up to the chief.
“I have something for you to eat and a change of attire.”
“Oh perfect, thank you.”
“Let’s go to your mauri and you can change and eat.”
“That would be nice.”
As you walked back you didn’t bring up the ilu at all so Tonowari was going to do it. You sat in your mauri with him and ate with him, you were going to change after, you didn’t realize but you were quite hungry.
“I saw you on the ilu.”
“Oh, yeah. I woke up early and decided to go for a walk. I love the feeling of sand on my feet. When I was there, I saw him and I was playing with him. Then he swam closer to the shore and I just wanted to go out to him so I did. When I placed my hand on his skin, I just felt such happiness with him so I bonded with him and when I did it was overwhelming joy. He wanted to take me for a ride so we rode around for a little bit.”
“I am glad that you made a friend already. I am glad that you got to experience that so early. It normally takes so long for new children to tame an ilu. Usually, it is because they are scared, but you showed no fear.”
“I did not need to be afraid. She wanted to protect me and be beside me. She was showing unconditional love for me. She told me not to be afraid.”
“Do you feel that with everything?”
“I do not know yet. I have only felt that with her and,” you paused, “you and the tshaik.”
“What are the feelings you get with us?”
“I do not know yet. It is just this warmth. Different than what I felt with my ilu but still overpowering at times.”
“We have been talking, we feel something too. Ronal is looking into it.”
“Wait, really? What do you guys feel?”
“It is hard to explain. Both of us are unsure. It is more like an intuition.”
“Hopefully Ronal can tell us something. I would like to know what it means.”
“We did not tell you this but when we first found you it was actually my daughter that found you. She was out on her ilu and Eywa led her to you passed out in the sand. She came to us and we went to investigate. So, we believe Eywa has a special interest in for whatever reason and you seem to get along with the fauna quite well so far. I know you also said you studied plants. I feel like you are connected to Eywa somehow at a larger level than others.”
“Why? I am a demon in a false body. I do not belong here.”
“I think you are more in your element here than anywhere else.”
“I think so too, but that doesn’t mean that I belong.”
“I disagree. Anyways, you should get changed and we will go visit Ronal.”
“I think we should. Maybe she has answers.”
You went behind a curtain and got changed from your Earth clothes into traditional Metkayina clothing. The loincloth was easy enough but the top you had some trouble with, after a few minutes you walked out and Tonowari smiled at you.
“Now you could not be told apart from us. Let us go.”
You both walked over to the tshaik tent and went inside; Ronal had just put away her ceremony stuff. She had somewhat of an answer, she was surprised as to what Eywa had told her, but the more she thought the more it made sense. Her feelings made sense, they matched with what Eywa told her. Eywa said that she and Tonowari were to have another mate, one that would open their eyes. One that would lead them to a better future, not just for the Metkayina but for all Na’vi.
She knew what she needed to do, it was simple, she and her husband would have to seduce this demon girl. She was connected to Eywa’s spirit in most ways and all her creatures could feel Eywa’s spirit within her. Ronal knew that when she saw you, she was going to be bold and do what felt right.
When you and Tonowari walked into the tshaik tent, she let her intuition take over. She stood up and walked over to you, she placed her hands on your shoulders and kissed you. You took a step back not expecting that to happen, not that you didn’t like it or didn’t want it, it was just a shock. You stared at her then looked up at Tonowari who was also surprised.
“I reached out to Eywa. She told me that we were to have another mate. This was brought to us to aid us in our future and to open our eyes.”
“That makes a lot of sense. I had a feeling these feelings were in some way romantic,” Tonowari said.
“I would not be opposed to having both of you. I do feel a strong connection to you both. I would be honoured to be your new mate if you both want me.”
“We would be delighted,” Tonowari said bringing you in for a hug.
“We will get to know each other before anything happens. It is only fair,” Ronal spoke.
“First, I must also get a kiss. Ronal got one.”
“Fine,” you smiled.
You looked up at him and he picked you up and kissed you, but you didn’t want to stop, you wanted more. Tonowari didn’t stop either and Ronal didn’t say anything, you just kept going. Honestly, you were ready to sleep with them, it's not like this would be the first time you slept with someone after you just met them. You knew that wasn’t a custom here but making tsaheylu with them would teach them everything anyway, it was the best way. You were all to be mated anyway, you didn’t see the point in waiting, if you all wanted this now then why not?
When Tonowari put you down, you pressed your lips into Ronal’s, you weren’t going to wait and clearly, they weren’t either. Tonowari started to kiss the back of your neck, his hands grazed up your sides. They eventually made their way up to your necklaces; he untied the one that was covering your tits and let it fall to the floor. Ronal made short work of having your boobs out, her hands immediately went to grope them. Her hands softly kneaded the flesh and ran her thumb over your nipple. You shuddered at the contact; you could hear Tonowari chuckle behind you at how you were already breaking apart from their light touches.
Your small whimpers made Tonowari so possessive of you, this was only for them. He pulled you away from Ronal and laid you on their bed mat, it was probably the most comfortable place you've ever been.
“I will take her first,” Ronal said.
“Good, then I want you on top,” Tonowari said.
Ronal pulled your loincloth down your hips and now that you were fully exposed, she could get to work. She pressed her tongue to your clit; she licked up through all your folds before sucking your clit. Your head pushed into the ground and your hips lifted up, you felt Tonowari’s hand press your hips back down. Your legs peddled as you were into extreme pleasure, your body was burning with lust. Ronal kept going at you hard, your back was arching off the floor as you were forced to take everything, she was giving you.
Eventually, Ronal stopped abruptly, right as you were so close. Your whines bounced off the walls, your body was tired and sweaty, and you just wanted to cum.
“Awe, do not worry. I’ll take care of you.”
Tonowari kneeled down between your open legs and grabbed your hips and yanked you up to meet his. You could feel how hard he was against your leg, you heard him snicker. He positioned himself and slowly pushed inside, your hands reached out to grab anything to ground yourself. Your right hand grabbed onto Ronal’s muscular thigh and the other clawed at the floor. As Tonowari started his ruthless pace, your eyebrows furrowed, your mouth opened, and you moaned loudly. Your head rolled to the side; the pleasure was overwhelming to your overworked body.
Tonowari motioned his head to Ronal to have her sit on your face, but she shook her head.
“She is already overworked enough. On top of that, watching her pretty face is enough.”
Tonowari smiled at her.
“Plus, then I might have missed this.”
Ronal’s hand splayed out onto your lower stomach; she pressed down lightly. Only then did Tonowari realize there was an imprint of his cock in your stomach, you and Tonowari both moaned more when Ronal pressed down on your lower stomach. Tonowari was brutal with his pace and he was reaching in deep every time. You couldn’t stay quiet even if you wanted to, it just felt too good. Even if Ronal’s pussy was muffling your voice, it would still be heard from outside.
Your legs kept trying to push your body away from the overstimulating pleasure, but Tonowari’s firm grip on your hips kept you locked in place to take everything he was giving you. It wasn’t long before you were cumming, gripping onto Tonowari’s arm and Ronal’s thigh as your eyes rolled back. You could hear Tonowari’s breathy chuckle at your body’s movements, he then increased his pace and not long after that, he was cumming deep inside you. He kept himself inside you and pulled your tired body on top of him as he lay next to Ronal.
“You think this is what Eywa had in mind?”
“I am unsure. She told us this was to be our new mate, so I do not think it was a bad thing.”
“Well, we just bread her good. We just need to perform the actual mate bond.”
Tonowari could feel your arm moving, they both could see how tired you were. You reached around for your braid, Ronal helping a little.
“Let’s do it now.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I could not imagine it another way.”
Tonowari grabbed his braid and Ronal took hers and they connected theirs together. Ronal then helped you with yours and you connected yours to theirs and the feeling was overwhelming. You felt so many emotions and so much love, that you couldn't help it, your eyes flickered shut a few times before you felt a few tears leak out. This was the happiest and most loved you felt in a while, you couldn’t imagine it another way. You fell asleep on top of Tonowari and as you did you unlinked.
When you woke up in the RDA, you felt a weight of depression hit you like a truck. You wanted your mates back, it was lonely here, and it was dark here.
“I see you're awake. It’s been a while.”
“What the fuck did you do to me. Your guys left me for dead. You think Parker would like that shit. His billion-dollar body destroyed.”
“He authorized it,” his smile made your body shiver.
“Why?”
He stayed silent.
“Miles, why?”
He gave you a pissed look, no one used his name, it was always his last name.
“What makes you think you deserve to know.”
“Because you fucking left me.”
“It’s just business, princess.”
“Don’t fucking call me that,” you got out of the link bed and walked off.
All you wanted to do was get back to your mates, you wanted out of this place but you needed to be in your Na’vi body and to link in was hard. It was a heavily monitored area and on top of that, they wanted you dead. The only way out was to run away, you had no choice now, they obviously just tried to take you out and they’d try again if you didn’t get out now.
You knew they’d have a close eye on you, so it had to be now, right now. You got to your bunk, grabbed a few things, put them in a backpack and ran to the helicopter bay. You were quick to get it going and get it out of the shed before anyone could do real damage. You had a few lessons on how to fly these things but you weren’t an expert, you knew at some point you were going to be relying all on your own senses.
You had made it quite far out; you knew that you had to ditch the planes here at some point. You were close to the reef, you had to land it someone it couldn’t be tracked or recovered. You didn’t want them following you, you knew it had to be before the water. When you landed, you knew it was quite a ride away to get to the reef. Luckily your ilu was there, you were surprised it even remembered you, but like Ronal said, you're heavily connected to Eywa in ways even she didn’t understand.
You had your oxygen mask on and you rode your ilu to the reef, it took quite some time but eventually, you could see it in sight. You didn’t know how things were going to go, neither of them had seen you as a human or even knew you were still linking in.
Ronal was sitting with Tonowari, they were both surprised you were still passed out, they took your braids apart and Tonowari let you lay on your own but they were worried whether they were too hard on your body. Ronal then got this feeling, she needed to look at the reef, she needed to leave marui. So, she stood up and Tonowari was confused but followed her, Ronal looked out at the reef and that’s when she saw an ilu speeding in.
She couldn’t make out who was on it but whatever it was, it wasn’t Na’vi.
As you got closer you could see them standing in the sand, you got off your ilu and swam to them before walking up to their towering forms.
“I am your mate, of course as a human. I delinked after I fell asleep. I found out what they did to me. They tried to kill me. I don’t know why but they did. I knew I had to leave before they tried something else and succeeded.”
Tonowari and Ronal looked at each other, they couldn’t believe it, this was their little mate.
“We can link you with your body permanently.”
“Wait, actually?”
“Yes, we can tomorrow.”
“Let’s get you dried off.”
Tonowari lifted you up and walked you back to their marui where you would spend the rest of your days in mated bliss.

“what’s your favourite moment of our relationship so far?”
you pose the question to iwaizumi against the backdrop of huntington beach. the sun dips the sea in hues of orange, a vibrant see you tomorrow to end the day. activity on the shore fades out with the waves: families packing up, surfers swimming back to land. you and iwaizumi are almost the only two left—his hand around your shoulder and your head on his chest as you both lay on the picnic blanket.
“favourite part?” he inquires back. “it’s hard to choose.”
you playfully hit his chest, shifting closer in his embrace. “oh come on, don’t give me that generic answer. there must’ve been something that stood out.”
in the brief quiet that follows, your eyes drift to the palm trees gently swaying in the wind. “well,” iwaizumi muses, “i do mean it. i don’t have a favourite part.”
his fingers reach up to caress the side of your hair: warm, tender, loving. “i loved meeting you for the first time. we were both clumsy as fuck at orientation.”
you laugh, thinking about your first day at uc irvine. absorbed in figuring out the campus map on your phone, you ended up bumping right into another student. the impact of the collision threatened to knock you off your feet—if it wasn’t for the other student’s steady grip on your hand.
you immediately uttered countless apologies, getting back on your feet and letting go of his grasp. the student shook it off. he wasn’t watching where he was going either, he claimed. you shared a smile—little did you know then, one of many more to come—before you introduced yourself to him.
he returned the courtesy, and you almost missed his name because of the way his dark spiky hair seemed to gleam under the california sun.
“hajime iwaizumi. nice to meet you.”
back in the present, iwaizumi laughs in tandem with you, a deep timbre you’ve always adored. “yeah, we were kind of stupid. great story to tell though.”
iwaizumi glances up at the seagulls flying up ahead, disappearing from his view not long after. “i also love our first anniversary. just stargazing at some random trail. and our second with the build-a-bears. and our third at the fair.”
“oh, and you meeting everyone from back home. especially those three idiots.” you laugh louder this time, recalling the first video call you had with iwaizumi’s old teammates at aoba johsai. “honestly,” he continues with apparent amusement laced in his tone, “where oikawa, makki, and mattsun are, chaos is sure to follow.”
“i loved meeting your friends!” you exclaim, beaming ear-to-ear. “can’t wait to meet them in-person someday.”
you feel iwaizumi’s chest rise and fall as he scoffs. “they’re a handful, baby. don’t say i didn’t warn you.”
“going back to the question,” iwaizumi continues, “do you really want to know why i don’t have a favourite moment?”
“go ahead. i’m waiting.”
“i don’t have a favourite moment…” iwaizumi pauses, and you feel his lips pressing a quick kiss against your forehead.
“i don’t have a favourite moment, because any moment with you is my favourite.”

Translating the “Property of Captain Cellbit” books, aka young Cellbit’s diaries, for English speakers. This was from, I think, 28/10/2023.
Translations of all the books are under the read more.
— Day 34 of exploring!!!
After a week carefully examining the dangerous territory denominated as the “Mystery Lands,” me, Captain Cellbit and my sister, Sargent Bagi, found the perfect place
For our base of operations!
A vegetal species of oak with a similar size to our inicial base (house). We believe that together we can make a headquarters for all the secrets that can be found on this “Land.”
Sargent Bagi says she wants to have a swing in one of the branches of the house. A fantastic idea! If we reach enough strength and high on the swing, we’ll get to see the whole terrain around us!
— Day 45 of exploring!!!
On future days, important achievements will be accomplished, where we will win against all our enemies, but before that, me and Bagi need to practice our defenses.
For this reason today we will start the “Special Training For Explorers!” With mama’s help I was able to build two wooden swords. Mommy didn’t let them be sharp, even through a lot of pleading, but I think this is enough for now!
We’ll practice a lot against each other until we’re ready!
— Day 46 of exploring!!!
Today I want to leave this entry here as a reminder on what to do in case something like this repeats.
On our training yesterday, an accident occurred, and Sargent Bagi was hit
With too much strength by my sword, so at the moment she’s mad at me. To be fair in this situation, she could have dodged better from my attacks, but I admit I may have been a tad too harsh on her. She refuses to look at me
And hasn’t been speaking with me since yesterday.
So today I’ll try to make her forgive me, because exploring The Mystery Lands isn’t the same without her. I tried, it wasn’t fun. I’ll do the biggest surprise for her.
I was able to get together all Bagi’s favorite flowers, all my candy, and I’ll give it all in a big present to apologize. I hope it works, I don’t wanna live with her ignoring me forever.
— Day 167 of exploring!!!
Today, great progress was made in the conquest of the Mystery Lands. Not only was our base completed, but it seems we’re finding out more and more of what surrounds us.
Strange creatures and secrets that seem to slip through our fingers, all around us. It’s like trying to look behind the curtain of a spectacle. I know there’s something bigger behind the show, I just need to look for it better.
I’ll make sure the investigation has a better place to be organized, now that we’re sure another big hole from our base’s floor won’t fall.
— Day 490 of exploring!!!
After observing the workers of the area a lot, I managed to figure out their patterns. They get out of a “tent” each morning, but there are way too many of them to live on a terrain so small.
Tomorrow I’ll investigate this to the best of my abilities.
Unfortunately Sargent Bagi won’t be able to come with me. Yesterday on our training she broke one of the vases mommy made, so she’s grounded until next week.
But this can’t wait. I’ll report everything I find there. She doesn’t know about my plan, I want it to be a surprise for when I come back and are able to show all that I could do without her knowing. It’ll be a great surprise that will cheer her up a lot.
— To Bagi
Bagi, I’m sorry. I can’t come back. I can’t bring you with me or try to warn you. I have to go.
If everything goes well, you’ll be able to find this and know everything. But don’t trust the workers. Don’t trust the cops, don’t trust anyone.
I saw everything inside, they were doing all this beneath our very feet… it’s horrible, Bagi. You don’t deserve this, I don’t want you to have to live with these guys. So meet me on the other side of this ocean Bagi. I’ll be going now, I don’t care if I have to swim until
luck, I’ll swim a few kilometers and stop at some other island and then swim again.
But I won’t come back. Never will I come back to this terrain.

Beach Day with the ADA :)
Tumblr media
Since Bungou Stray Dogs doesn't have a 'beach episode', I thought I'd make one myself with the reader. If y'all would like a separate one without the reader, let me know. :) Genre: fluff, comfort? Warnings: probably a few gramatical errors Pairings: platonic everyone, a little extra bit of dazai Words: 880 ish
⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆☁︎⋆₊ ⊹
It had been a rather tiresome week at the agency, so when Fukuzawa offered to let you all have a day off, you were ecstatic. It was Atsushi’s idea to do something together as a group, which prompted some interesting ideas. After Dazai suggested bar hopping, he received a harsh smack from Kunikida.
After looking at the forecast on your phone, you had an idea. “Why don’t we go to the beach? It’s not too far away. It’s close enough for a day trip." And with that, the decision had been made.
Kunikida opted to drive, with you in the passenger seat. He agreed to come along only if Dazai was in the other car (thankfully not driving) with Kyoka, Atsushi, and the Tanizaki siblings. He figured if this was going to be his day off, he should at least get some form of stress relief.
After a stop at the convenience store for snacks and sunscreen, everyone finally arrived at the beach. You got out of the car and helped everyone unload before heading out. The weather was phenomenal and the water was the perfect temperature. The waves were calm enough to relax in the ocean and the sand was incredibly soft.
It was around noon, and you had finally blown up your little ring float to bring into the water with you.
“Aww, can’t swim?” Dazai teased.
“Actually, I can swim just fine.” You playfully flicked him on the shoulder. “Just wanted to ride the waves a bit while they’re smooth.”
He paused. “Well, since you can swim…” He picked you up before you realized what he was doing and ran toward the water.
“No, no! Put me down!” you pleaded. He started to throw you in, but you clutched onto his arms. “You’re coming with me!” You both fell into the salty water. Laughter came from the rest of the gang, except for Kunikida who merely sighed a you two.
“Don’t think we won’t come for you next!”
You ran after Yosano, and Dazai caught Jun’ichiro. Not long after that, everyone had been submerged at least once, sparing Kunikida for their own safety. He had been sitting in a chair underneath one of the umbrellas trying to read a book. He looked over to find Ranpo eating snacks. “You know you have to save some of those for everyone else, right?”
He stopped chewing, “Hm?”
-
Atsushi and Kyoka were building a sandcastle together. They were fixing up the moat before filling it up with water.
“It looks great! Now we can collect some shells to decorate!” The boy offered.
“Can we use this?” She held up a big crab that was desperately trying to get away.
He made a face. “…Sure!”
The girl placed the crab on top. However, it jumped off and skittered away into the sand. “Well, there goes that.”
-
The Tanizaki siblings were playing volleyball. Naomi was winning by one point.
“Hey! Anyone wanna play with us?” She called out to everyone.
“Me!” Yosano jogged over to them along with Kenji.
-
You had been in your swim tube, floating with the waves while Dazai held onto it, keeping you from drifting too far. “This was a good idea. I have to admit, this is quite refreshing.”
“I know, right? I couldn’t think of a better way to spend our day off.” You squinted at his pink nose. “I think you need a little more sunscreen.”
He shrugged, “I’ll be fine.”
“Okay, but if you’re burnt to a crisp tomorrow, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
He laughed at your remark before flipping you into the water. You popped you head up.
“What was that for?”
“If I leave you here to put on more sunscreen, you’ll float away! You must come with me.”
“You’re so dramatic.” You walked with him back to where the group had settled. Kunikida was still buried in his book. You had grabbed the last bag of chips from Ranpo.
“You havin’ fun?” Dazai asked his partner.
The blonde put a single finger towards him, “Don’t.”
“Oh, come on. I haven’t even done anything-”
“Yet.”
You chuckled at the two, “Why don’t we go play volleyball with the others?” Dazai nodded.
-
After hours of playing in the sun, you all had decided that it was time to go back. Everyone mentioned they were hungry, so you found yourselves at a restaurant nearby. It was a great way to end the day before heading back to the agency. You were satisfied with your food as you listened to everybody talk. The restaurant was cozy and warm, and you were getting tired. After leaning back against the back of the chair, you slowly nodded off.
You felt someone tap your shoulder. “Hey! It’s time to go!” Kenji whispered. “We’re leaving!”
“Hmm? Oh-” You quickly woke up and went with the crew back to the vehicles outside.
You couldn’t remember the ride back since you were out like a light. Thankfully, the loud ones were in the other car, allowing you to get some sleep. There may or may not be a photo floating around of your face squished against the window. Dazai sent it to you the next morning, along with the other pictures taken the day before.
"Which one of you took that?"
"Not telling!" It was him.

Cold Shower
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: minors dni!!! Smut, unprotected smut, she/her pronouns, the word “juxtaposition” appears because this is matty’s pov sorry. a bit cringe ngl (the foreplay bit is good tho)

Tumblr media
Heat has settled like a heavy blanket all over the house.
All day Matty has been trying to figure out what’s wrong with the air conditioning. He’s not much of a handyman to begin with and now the thought of having to sacrifice his lazy day with her on stupid household appliances makes him fume even more.
He’s only wearing thin cotton boxers, yet sweat trickles down his back in rivulets and gathers at the base of his spine. He would have gone for a swim if the sun weren’t so blazing hot outside. Instead, his mind wanders back to her and what she might be doing up in the bedroom.
Before he left her to go inspect the sudden lack of cool air, they had both been in bed; legs intertwined, her fingers brushing his chest occasionally, his drawing circles on her hips as they both read their books. Well, he read his giant Serious book while she read her smutty trashy romance. And while he always teased her about it, he couldn’t help abandoning his book to peak into hers.
Right as the couple on paper have their first passionate kiss in the rain.
His frustration grows as he thinks of the soft surprised sounds she makes every time there’s unexpected intimacy on the page, almost as if she’s experiencing it herself. The way she ends up lightly gnawing on her bottom lip to stop herself from grinning wide. Matty teases her about that too; actually, he doesn’t stop teasing her until she inevitably chucks the book at him and hides her face in the pillow.
He abandons all thoughts of fixing the AC and makes his way back to the bedroom.
‘It’s hopeless,’ he announces loudly before he even properly enters the room, ‘I’ll call someone tomorrow but we can get a hotel room if it’s too hot for you…’ Matty trails off when there’s no response. Instead, there’s soft, even breathing.
Her long legs are sprawled on top of the sheets, naked entirely apart from the very short hipster shorts that she wears around the house to combat the heat. And right now, they do wonders for Matty’s imagination as he stares at the curve of her ass. Then slowly at the thin tank top that sticks to the contours of her body, to the loose hair that flutter on her neck. She’s almost asleep. Almost, if it weren’t for the restless pout on her face.
‘Baby…’ he moves towards her.
‘Hmm?’ she responds sleepily and the soft sound makes his blood rush down south.
‘Are you sleepy?’ He sits at the edge of the bed and takes her feet in his lap, moves one finger up her calf and watches her squirm a little.
‘No,’ she smiles at him, ‘just lazy. I can’t really sleep in this heat,’ then suddenly she remembers and props herself up on her forearm. ‘What happened to the AC?’
He shrugs, ‘I’m not a handyman.’
‘Then you’re not coming anywhere near me today,’ she shrugs in return, ‘it’s so hot I can’t even think about cuddling right now.’
‘Oh, absolutely not,’ he grabs her leg and pulls her towards him. She shrieks and laughs when he falls on top of her, sweaty bodies colliding as Matty attacks her with kisses all over her face and finally as he captures her mouth in his.
Lying on top of her doesn’t really help with his…situation. If anything, he can feel the front of his boxers tightening as she sighs into the kiss.
‘Babe, I know what you want,’ she speaks against his mouth, ‘but I think I'm going to melt into a puddle if we keep going.’ He’s about to open his mouth to make a lewd joke but she shuts him up with a glare. ‘Not in a good way.’
‘Alright then.’ He hooks an arm under her legs and before she has the chance to question it, she’s up in the air, being thrown over his shoulder while he practically beelines to the bathroom.
Her ass is up in the air, right in front of his face while he fumbles with the shower controls. He expects more shrieks and laughter as soon as the cold water hits them. Instead, she lets out a loud moan that shoots straight to his dick.
‘Fuck,’ she sighs again, ‘this feels so good!’
He lowers her gently, noses touching each other as droplets of water cling to her eyelashes and rest on her lips. ‘Better than this?’
Matty grinds his hips into hers and groans softly when she throws her head back. The water has already soaked through her top making it translucent. Her nipples stand out against the white fabric, pebbled and pink. ‘Nothing is better than this,’  she whispers and kisses him deeply.
His movements are frantic, a hand coming up to protect her head as he slams her back against the wall and deepens the kiss. His tongue flicks against her lips, tasting the water and remnants of her lip balm while she palms him through his boxers.
‘Off with these,’ she moves her hands frantically, ‘I need to feel you.’
And he needs to feel her too; so desperately that he might just try to rip her clothes off her. She tastes sweet; like the honeycomb ice cream she had been eating earlier. They don’t break the feverish kisses as he shimmies out of his boxers and Matty shivers when her hand wraps around him.
‘Fuck!’ he groans loudly in her hair, momentarily forgetting everything as she moves her hands up and down his length. ‘Darling, you feel s–so good.’
Then almost as if he has snapped back to his senses, he hooks a finger under the band of her shorts and peels away the soaked fabric from her body. Wet curls fall into his eyes, partially obstructing his view of her but it’s not like he can keep his eyes open for long as she strokes him over and over.
A loud gasp fills the bathroom when his fingers touch her swollen clit. Her grip on him goes slack, hands stilling in place as she moans out his name. Fingers moving, in circles, over her slit and parting her folds, he basks in the way his name sounds from her mouth.
Matty, Matty, Matty… again and again and again, every time he teases her entrance with his fingers and grips her waist to keep her from falling.
‘Need you, Matty,’ she whines, ‘please, PLEASE.’ And she sounds so sweet begging for him that he plunges her fingers in and kisses her hungrily to swallow her moans.
He nearly moans in return when she clenches around his fingers, tight and wet and needy; always needy for more. He imagines how she would feel around his dick, although he knows the feel of her very well. All the groves and contours of her body, the way she tastes everywhere, the way she sounds depending on where he touches her. Her back arches off the wall, tits brushing onto his bare chest and he increases his pace.
‘Perfect girl,’ he tells her, ‘my gorgeous, perfect girl.’
She becomes more and more like putty in his hands with each thrust of his fingers. His body screams to be closer to her, closer than he already is but he needs to see her fall apart around his fingers first and by the looks of it, she’s not far away.
‘I’m so close, baby,’ she whimpers and buries her face in his chest, ‘harder, please, ple—’ the words turn into a strangled scream when he roughly flicks her clit with his thumb.
‘That’s it darling,’ he encourages, ‘be a good girl now.’
She tries to hold on longer, almost as if she’s savouring the feeling of his fingers inside her, wanting to stay in this moment as long as possible. But he hooks his fingers inside her, and finally broken moans and gasps echo around the room as Matty feels her cum all over his hand.
He is so tempted to bring the hand up to his mouth and get a taste but he keeps moving his fingers in and out. Lets her ride it out until she can finally open her eyes.
Then, as if he’s possessed, he holds out the hand in front of her. ‘Lick it clean,’ he rasps, low and barely restrained, still a command. ‘All of it.’
Her cheeks flush and he almost laughs at the juxtaposition. Seconds ago she had been screaming all sorts of obscene things and now the thought of licking her own release off his hand is what makes her blush. But she maintains steady eye contact with him, pupils dilated, eyes wide, water clinging to her eyelashes as she slowly does as she’s told. Then, for extra measure, swirls her tongue around his fingers and hollows her cheeks to suck them clean.
‘You’ll be the death of me, you know?’ he groans softly and her answering hum sends a jolt through his whole body.
‘Kiss me?’ she asks sweetly once she’s done.
And Matty’s more than eager. Now all he tastes is sweet honeycomb ice cream mixed with the taste of her and for a moment all other thoughts go out the window. That is until she pumps him harder and lines him up against her once again.
‘Want me inside you again?’ he smirks.
‘Will you give me what I want if I say yes?’ she asks coyly.
Matty moves closer, trapping her between him and the wall, and makes sure that his very hard cock sits right between her folds. The sensation intense enough to drive both of them crazy but he’s relentless and determined.
‘Oh how generous of you,’ he teases and presses onto her further. She moans again and looks at him desperately.
‘I want you, I want you, I’ll keep saying it,’ she breathes, ‘I want–fuck,’ he pushes his tip inside and nudges her to continue.
‘You…’ she moans right in his ear as he pushes in the rest of the way.
For one tender moment, his heart swells at the thought of her wanting him so much. Her saying it to him over and over again, and not just in the bedroom. Not just for sex.
But then she drags her nails down his back and all tender thoughts fly out of his head. Matty unleashes himself, thrusting into her over and over, recklessly, hard and fast. What was meant to be slow love making on a hot summer day has turned into so much more.
The shampoo bottles fall and clatter on the floor as she grabs the rack to support herself. But he doesn’t slow down and she doesn’t tell him to slow down. She leaves scratches on his back; a reward and an encouragement. Softly bites onto his shoulder to muffle her screams. And although he would love to be all marked up for the whole world to see, he wants to hear her screaming his name much much more.
‘Louder, baby,’ he commands, ‘the louder you scream for me, the harder you get it.’
Instantly, she obliges and lets go of all inhibitions. There’s only her and her scent that surrounds him and her voice that echoes over and over again.
They grab at each other frantically, like they would fall apart if either let go until some body wash clatters to the floor and she laughs.
‘God, Matty, you drive me crazy,’ she whimpers as she clenches around him one more time, tighter and tighter. She’s on the edge again, ready to let go again.
‘Cum for me again, baby,’ Matty whispers in her ear and bites her earlobe, ‘I know you want to.’
She nods with her eyes closed, breathing hard. And he keeps thrusting into her at a bruising pace even when she falls apart for the second, on and on and on till the pressure at the base of his spine almost makes him lose it.
‘Matty,’ she pants but she’s incapable of forming words, forming any thoughts. So cock-drunk and blissed out that he moans at the expression on her face. Moments later, his legs tremble as he feels himself spill into her over and over again. Until all he sees is black for a solid two seconds.
Miraculously, they hold each other up on shaking, trembling legs; still locked together, panting in tandem. The shower is still running; even now when the water is nice and cold, both of them feel the heat coursing through their veins.
‘God, we’re like animals in heat,’ she laughs into his chest. ‘We were supposed to cool down!’
‘We will,’ he kisses the top of her head, ‘in five more minutes. Or ten more minutes. Or whenever I can bring myself to move away from you.’

During a supply run with Zoro, a well-meaning lady tells Sanji he's pretty. Not handsome, no--PRETTY. "Your swordsman over there is handsome," she says, pointing at Zoro, who's examining liquor bottles over at another stall. "YOU are pretty." How does he react, & what happens next? 👀 (1/2)
he just laughs at first, if only to cover up how that one word from a stranger has hit him like a punch to the gut.
he looks like a man, and people don't call men pretty. rogueish, certainly. even charming; he's gotten that before at least, but pretty? he laughs some more, gives her a smile and a few words that he doesn't even register, and the merchant lady tilts her head. "you don't get that often, do you?"
"never gotten it at all, actually," he answers, bravado draining away to leave a mumble that he isn't even sure she can hear.
but she must have, because she slides his purchases to him and hums, "well, you're very beautiful. anyone'd have to be blind not to see it."
"maybe," he allows hesitantly, taking the bag with a nod of goodbye. he cannot help but feel as though he's realised something that he won't be able to ignore.
and sure enough, back on the ship, the words swim in his mind. they pop up in blinding white font against the dark of his eyelids as he tries and fails to get to sleep. you're very beautiful.
do i want to be beautiful? he asks himself, and halfway through he already knows, he knows the answer. feels it like an ache in his bones.
sanji's never let himself think about it, but once he starts he can't stop. he imagines himself in makeup, pots and pencils and brushes in front of a mirror, his hair fluffed to perfection, lips red as the dawn and a beauty mark beneath his eye. he thinks about what it would feel like to put on a dress, a proper one; cotton and linen traded for silk, starched dress shirts abandoned in favour of satin blouses and full skirts that nip in with ribbon at the waist. he thinks of the wicker wedge sandals that nami sometimes wears. he thinks about being a man, with a little something more.
he flips over and shoves his face into his pillow. he needs to stop thinking about things that he wants but can never have.
*
sanji's usually better at keeping his secrets, but eventually he slips. he should have known it was only a matter of time before the magnitude of it all became too much to bear and spilled out across the floor.
fortunately, his crew is there to catch him.
they take all of it in stride, even though sanji himself doesn't even know what all of it is yet; he figures things out as they go along. he finds clothes that aren't his in his closet, accessories appearing on his dresser. zoro keeps buying him silk blouses and it makes him want to laugh and cry in equal amounts. nami sees her chance to snag a makeup practice dummy and grabs it, which results in many a night in the girls' quarters, fooling around with makeup until they're either too tired or too giddy with laughter. the rest of the crew show their support in smaller ways, though no less significant—
and now, a year later and leaning against the bar counter of a vaguely familiar town, sanji suspects that he's somehow found himself. it hits him with all the grandeur of someone realising oh, it's stopped raining, or oh, tomorrow's tuesday— sinks into him honey-slow like the burn of the whiskey he sips, warm and comfortable, like a coat he hadn't realised he'd been wearing this whole time and had become his favourite without him even knowing. put like that, it sounds incredibly silly; sanji chuckles as he takes another drink, and a hand settles low on his back where the blue velvet of his dress dips down.
"hey, beautiful," zoro whispers by his ear, pressing a kiss to his cheekbone before leaning over his shoulder to order, and sanji smiles as he swirls his glass with a slow twirl of his wrist.
maybe he'll go look for that merchant lady again. he's fairly sure he owes her a thank you.

dark!joel miller x innocent!reader
age gap - corruption (18+ themes)
once again, i will write what i want to and i don’t wanna hear it.
joel miller who can’t help himself around you. it’s the zombie apocalypse for god sake. morals went out the window years ago, no one around to say what’s wrong for him to do.
you were so pretty, working in a makeshift shop on the corner across the street from his house. he could see a clear line from his window into the front window; a perfect view of you everyday.
it was clear, even from this distant, you were 30 years younger than him. maybe even younger, he couldn’t fully tell. all he knew was the craving that itched and burned. his mind was filled with thoughts of you that, given any other lifetime, would be considered immoral. but it wasn’t any other lifetime. it was the zombie apocalypse and he could die tomorrow.
you knew of joel; knew what his reputation was. you knew of elle; she frequented your mom’s shop since her and joel settled here. the shop’s goal was so bring back a level or normalcy that people were missing, aching for even. you were happy and content to supply it.
joel laid awake at night, just thinking. thinking of what he could do or say to win you. your eyes were always full of hope and happiness that made his blood travel south. you had the spark he lost years ago.
he knew no one would say anything to him. he was known as a fighter, a survivor. in times like these, it was so important to have a figurehead like him. he hated the title and never wanted it. but he could use it. use it for his advantage.
joel started coming by the shop more and more. you found out he lived across the street from, that he wasn’t elle’s dad like you thought, that he spent his time usually by himself, and that his eyes were the most beautiful and intimidating you’d ever seen. something was lying behind them, you just couldn’t figure out what.
you felt yourself being drawn to him, counting down the minutes, seconds even, until his usual arrival to your store where he’d by the same bottle of whiskey. you figured he must just really like the taste.
“you ever tried this stuff?” he asked you one day and you giggled. “yuck. no way. my mom says it’s gross.” joel raised an eyebrow and leaned against the counter, coming so close to you that the smell of him made your legs weak. “you always listen to your mom?”
that’s how you ended up at his place after you closed down for the day. “it’s only across the street! safest walk you’ll find.” he made a promise he wouldn’t keep you long.
it was getting late when the alcohol took affect. he assured you that elle wouldn’t be home tonight, she was spending the night at one of her friend’s house. you felt like you were sitting on jelly, your body felt unstable.
joel kept a firm hand on the back of your neck. it was a friendly touch you managed to convince yourself. he was just being friendly as he gently squeezed your neck in a way that made you tingle.
he watched you. he was good at reading you, observant. he watched as your body relaxed, he watched your thighs twitch and squeeze together when he shifted closer on his couch. he knew it was wrong as he pushed the glass of whiskey the two of you were sharing against your lips, encouraging you to take another swig.
your mind was swimming. you hadn’t ever been drunk before, let alone be alone with a man. your mom would be disappointed tomorrow morning when you inevitably get sick. you reached for joel’s arm for support as you attempted to stand.
“where you going? the party is right here.” joel laughed as he helped you up. “wanna….pee….” you struggled to get out and he shook his head at you. “i think that was rather rude. shouldn’t you ask permission?” he asked, his tone becoming dark.
your face flushed bright red and you grabbed onto his sleeve. “ ‘m sorry!” joel watched as your legs pressed together, either in pleasure or to hold your bladder. joel grabbed your waist to pull you closer to him. you looked up at him with wide eyes that held such affection and need that joel almost burst right there.
he held all the power in that moment. your desperation and want was intoxicating for him. your innocence drove him crazy, the little whimper stuck at the back of your throat pulled him in. you blinked a couple of times and pushed yourself closer. “may i please go to the bathroom?” you whimpered.
“you want help?”

overwhelmed. s.r.
summary: when you had an overwhelming day at work, spencer is there to pick up the pieces.
word count: 612
warnings: mentions of stress, slight ranting
a/n: hello everyone ! thank you so much for being so incredible to me these past few stories. i really appreciate how supportive you all are. thank you for taking the time to read my work, it means so much to me. today i wanted to make something a little shorter, the idea came to me and i wanted you all to be able to read it. please, if you have any requests at all, send them in! i really only do reader works (meaning i don’t do ships) and don’t often write smut, but am open to the idea. thank you all so much, again! have an amazing wonderful day, love you all!
the world seemed to spin around you. as if someone had locked you in a washing machine and allowed you to tumble.
you had your days when the stress of work was overwhelming. too much paperwork, too many emails, too many people needing assistance with something or another. today was one of those days where you were simply pushed too far, and your mind was swimming.
you jostled your apartment door open, greeted by your boyfriend, spencer, leaning over the sink, washing dishes.
“hello, how was your day?” he asked as you tossed your bag, coat, and shoes on the floor. spencer looked up, a playful kindness in his eyes.
your lower lip began to quiver, his face fell, “sweetheart, what’s wrong?”
he quickly swept you up in his arms, wrapping you in his sweater, your face pressed to his chest.
you took a deep breath and tangled your hands together behind his back, “everybody needed something at work, paperwork, emails, coffee. and then my shoe broke when i was walking out of the building. my car started making that clicking sound again on the way home, my key wouldn’t fit in the door, and that stupid dishwasher is still broken-”
“breathe,” he whispered, his fingers twisting through your hair.
“i know, i’m sorry,” you quickly sucked in your breath.
“there’s nothing to be sorry for,” you could hear the frown on his face.
you had a problem with saying sorry, it worsened when you were stressed. the feeling of stepping on everyone’s toes, being a bother, occupying too much space or time. it was overwhelming on an average day, but when mixed with anxiety, it was suffocating.
“it’s just,” you stepped back, spencer’s arms remaining around your waist, “stress”.
“stress is a very powerful thing,” he spoke sincerely.
“i know,” you shook your head.
you tried to turn around, hide from the issue in your bedroom as you changed your clothes, hoping the conversation would die out.
spencer was faster, pulling you back towards him, “hey, what did we talk about?”
“not pushing you away when i need help,” you stated, quietly, looking up at him through your eyelashes.
“and what are you doing?” his eyebrows raised.
“pushing you away when i need help,” you tried to hide the twinge of shame in your voice, knowing you promised spencer to not go full lockdown mode whenever you weren’t feeling well.
“i’m sorry work was hard on you today. we’ll figure out your shoe before work, if your car is still making the clicking sound i’ll take it to the shop when i get home, and no need to worry about the dishwasher. i called the repairman and he’s coming over tomorrow to handle it,” he reached up and placed a hand on either side of your face, “is there anything you need? is there anything i can do to help you?”
you held back tears of gratitude for him. his big brown eyes were sweet. they were kind and gentle, filled with pure love and admiration. but you could see worry danced through his irises as he waited for a solution.
“i think a shower would be nice,” you thought for a moment, “and then we can have a cup of tea and start that new show”.
spencer couldn’t hold his smile in anymore, “which tea would you like?”
“cinnamon,” you whispered.
“we’ll go take a shower and i’ll make some while you put your pajamas on, okay?” he whispered back.
you nodded, raising your hand to hold it on the back of his, “thank you”.
“anything for you,” he leaned down, placing a soft kiss on your lips, “come on”.

(mockingbird au!) family - jack hughes, platonic!quinn hughes
concept: y/n had a shitty relationship with her dad growing up. knowing this, quinn steps up as an older brother/dad figure, always making sure y/n knows they're loved and part of the family (loosely based off of mockingbird by eminem)
idea credits: @babydollmarauders this is my fav thing ever ily for thinking of it <3
notes: this is an au! so i've got LOTS of ideas for this, and i don't think i can fit it all in one fic. basically, what's gonna happen is this is one scenario of quinn being an older brother figure, and many more will come. you guys can request certain scenarios, and even with other hughes siblings just showcasing their dynamic (just specify ur request is for the au!) also, there's gonna be a lot more build up with how quinn cares for the reader, so be ready for that in the upcoming parts

“wait for me!”
jack kissed your cheek quickly, “i love you, see you soon!” running towards the boys that were already outside and waiting on him.
you were spending the summer in michigan with your boyfriend, jack. you’d hung out with his family and friends a few times before and for some reason, managed to fit in better with them then with most of your real family.
jack was going wakesurfing with his brothers and friends, leaving you and ellen hughes to spend a girls’ day together.
“you sure you don’t want to come?” quinn asked you, walking at a leisure pace even though he was late. you weren’t sure if he didn’t realize he was late, or just didn’t care.
“i’m good,” you laughed a bit. “i’d rather not be the only girl out there today. we all know i’d be the babysitter.”
“of course, quinn’s got that position because you’re not there,” ellen grinned, holding out a hand for the maple syrup.
you passed it to her, giving quinn a suspicious glance, “you just want me to come because you don’t want to babysit? wow, q, just wow,” you shook your head in disappointment.
quinn rolled his eyes lightly, grabbing a waffle and shoving it in his mouth. “no, seriously, y/n. i won’t make you babysit anyone. if they die, that’s on them. you’d enjoy coming with us. we’re heading out on the boat, going wakesurfing, and we’ll probably swim a bit before heading home. it’s gonna be a chill day, you won’t have to babysit.”
you thought about it, but shook your head, “thanks for the offer, q. but… i’ve got a very fun day planned with my mother over here.”
ellen smiled, blowing a kiss in your direction before sticking her tongue out at quinn.
“okay, but you still need to learn how to wakesurf,” he told you. “it’s a life skill, especially for a hughes. you’ve got to learn. tomorrow, i’m taking you, jack, and luke out to the lake. you better be ready.”
“you should be ready,” you told him, motioning towards the door. “the rest of the boys are gone already.”
quinn made a face, looking towards the door.
“shit!” his jaw dropped, finally realizing everyone else had gone. he pressed a quick kiss to his mother and your heads, rushing out the door to catch up with them.
you and ellen shared an exasperated look, laughing.
“he’s too funny,” you muttered.
“he would’ve been on time if he hadn’t spent so long trying to convince you to join them,” ellen pointed out.
“careful, mama hughes,” you tried not to laugh. “you’re letting your favourite child show.”
she laughed loudly at that, “oh please! the boys know you’ve been my favourite since the second jack brought you home. they’ve all accepted it at this point.”
you took another bite of your breakfast, laughing along as you and ellen spoke about anything and everything.
you’d never had a relationship like this with your mother: one where you could speak freely, laugh loudly, and just be happy. she tried to be good, you knew that, but it wasn’t easy. with your father and his controlling personality, there wasn’t much your mother could do for you. you’d forgiven her for how she dismissed his actions through the years, but you weren’t ready to keep your relationship with her.
your dad on the other hand, you hadn’t forgiven him nor were you ready to accept a father-daughter relationship with him. he was distant growing up, never really there for you. he’d comment on what you wore, who you went out with, what you did. every little thing he could find a flaw in, he’d bring it up with you.
with it just being the three of you, you’d never experienced a love like you did with the hughes family.
ellen and jim were closer to you than you were with your own parents. they dropped you off to your first university volleyball game, wishing you luck and cheering you on in the crowd. they showed up to every playoff game, searching for you before to wish you luck and finding you after to tell you how proud they were.
luke was the ‘baby’ of the family, showered with love by absolutely everyone. when you and jack began dating, he was a little jealous of all the attention you’d been receiving, but the second you told off jack for bothering luke, he’d accepted you wholeheartedly.
jack was your best friend, your other half. he understood you better than everyone, and he made sure to put his knowledge to use. whether you had a bad day, or just wanted a hug, he was always there to put everything aside for you.
quinn was like the older brother you never had. the way he looked out for you, dedicated time to teach you new things (like how to change a tire), you felt accepted. you weren’t sure how much jack told him about your relationship with your dad, but sometimes it felt like quinn tried to show everything you missed out on and was determined to make it up to  you.
it was the small things, but every hughes member made you feel like you were one of them.
-
“okay, now stand,” quinn instructed.
“easier said than done,” you muttered, sitting on top of the board.
quinn had decided that the first step to you learning how to wakesurf was to get you to stand on the board. which sounded easy enough, but was proving to be a difficult task thanks to the waves.
you, jack, quinn, and luke had taken the boat out, preparing you for your first wake surfing lesson. jack and luke were currently out in the water, wake surfing as quinn tried to teach you the basics.
“look at me,” quinn told you. he got up on his own board, adjusting his body as the waves threatened to topple him over. “it’s like any sport,” he told you. “sometimes you fall, but that’s okay. as long as you get back up, you’re going to be fine. come on, y/n. you can do it.”
you hesitated, but of course quinn knew exactly how to get you to agree. you thought back to your childhood - learning how to skate with your friends and falling over more times than you could remember, or scraping your knees every time you went to dive in volleyball, or countless other times you were forced to get back up.
“y/n! y/n! y/n! y/n!” luke and jack chanted as they took the boat past you two.
you laughed, feeling a surge of confidence at their enthusiasm.
taking a deep breath, you got up on the board, nearly flipping over as a wave caught you.
“i got you,” quinn waded over to help you. he adjusted the board, holding it in place as you climbed back on it.
“wait, lemme try again,” you said, shooing quinn away.
“that’s what we’re here for today,” he grinned, moving back to let you on the board.
you got up again, lasting for about three seconds before falling over. it took a while, but as you kept trying, you kept getting better. the fact that luke kept speeding by while holding an ‘L’ out towards you spurred you on greatly.
“take that!” you yelled in his direction as you managed to stand on the board without falling for a solid amount of time.
quinn laughed, “think you’re ready for the boat?”
“fuck yeah!” you grinned, pumping your fist up, then promptly losing your balance.
the three boys laughed, helping you get set up on the board. quinn took the wheel, not trusting jack to drive the boat at the exact speed he wanted. luke had his phone out, ready to record the whole thing. the middle hughes leaned over the back of the boat, giving you pointers and encouraging you.
“all you need to do is get back up,” jack reminded you, squeezing your hand.
“if i fall off, don’t laugh,” you told him, getting a little nervous at the realization that you’d never done anything like this before. it looked fun whenever you saw the guys do it, but the idea of you flying off the back had somehow rooted itself in your brain.
“in the impossible chance that you fall off, i will sacrifice my very perfectly tousled hair to jump into the water and save you,” jack promised.
"wow, big words, j."
you grinned lightly, knowing all three of the boys would go after you if you fell off.
quinn started the boat, causing you to stumble slightly.
“you all right?” he called from the boat.
you shot a thumbs up, grinning as you began to get used to the motion. you’d gone surfing before with the hughes, and this was quite similar to it. as quinn noticed you get more comfortable, he sped up a bit, allowing you to try some beginner tricks.
jack cheered you on, leaning so far over the edge of the boat, he almost fell over into the water. luke, who was recording the whole thing, began to laugh so hard, he tripped over his own feet and lay on the ground, still laughing.
you began to feel your own balance waver as you tried not to laugh at the scene. you waved a hand, calling for quinn to stop the boat. jack helped you up into the boat, giving you a kiss and whispering how proud he was.
“what’s wrong? did you get hurt? did you have fun? is it too hard?” quinn made his way towards you, lost as he’d missed the encounter with the boys.
“i’m fine, i’m fine,” you promised, your cheeks hurting from how hard you were grinning. “i was just - these two are idiots, and i can’t stop laughing.”
luke still lay on the deck of the boat, laughing again at the reminder.
“i didn’t want to fall off because they’re making me laugh,” you told quinn. “but that was so much fun! if it weren’t for the other two, i’d be doing better tricks than the rest of you ever could.”
luke scoffed, before playing the video of jack nearly falling into the water again and laughing.
jack rolled his eyes, grabbing his younger brother and sticking him in a headlock.
you turned back to quinn, a little surprised that you weren’t even shocked when the hughes began wrestling each other.
the first time you saw jack jump on luke and wrestle him, you’d thought they were insane. then quinn told you that’s just how brothers act, before grabbing both of them in a headlock and sending them off.
“you were good out there, y/n/n,” he grinned, patting your head. “by the end of the summer, you’ll be better than the rest of us. trust me.”
you grinned, “thanks, quinn. i wouldn’t have the guts to get on that board if you didn’t convince me. like, if there’s ever a problem with the whole hockey player thing, you’d make an amazing pay-by-the-hour older brother.”
quinn laughed at that, shaking his head in amusement. “meh, i’d much rather be an older brother to my family. even if i don’t get paid while doing it.” he made a face at the sight of luke trying to wriggle his way out of the headlock and jack whispering furiously in his ear, “speaking of not getting paid for being an older brother, that’s my cue to break them up.”
you sat against the seat, smiling to yourself at the sight of the boys just being boys. one of quinn’s sentences made you grin from ear to ear.
he said he’d much rather be an older brother to his family. he’d included you in that.
you were family.
