Quick update on our super low tech mushroom propagation setup. I got lucky with the lions mane. They actually started pushing out of the inoculation hole and started to fruit from the grain spawn bags. Luckily didn’t get any contamination. After pasteurizing the wood shavings, I layered them with grain spawn in these small plastic bins. Sealed the tops with plastic wrap and used the air vents from the grain bags to allow air exchange. I also added some spawn to the leaf litter underneath the bamboo and some to the wooden logs that are feeding our trees. I have no idea what the outcome will be but keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well. I expressed my concerns to one of my neighbors and her response was that there is no way it will go wrong because I’m doing everything with good intentions. I really appreciated that perspective her belief in positivity ❤️ Creating more wood shavings today for the maitake and chicken of the woods although I’d like to wait another week to see if these first bins take off. She showed up at his door He lives on the first floor His roommates were both gone Okay somethings going on But he saw her concern He knew that she was pure So he sat on the far side of the couch While he stared at her mouth

They talked for hours He seemed interested She'd never met someone so good at listening She told stories and he was polite She didn't notice he touched every part of her with his eyes

She kept coming over it became routine He disguised his hunger and she picked out the movies She thought it was cute when he held her hand Blissfully unaware of what he had planned

She gave in Just a little bit and it felt good didn't it? Harmless fun is all it is Until it isn't Cause this boy was on a mission and what he wants he knows he'll get But he just couldn't let her know that yet So he stopped things before they got too far and said “i won't let you do something you'll regret”

He charmed her with his words Had every line rehearsed Painted the red flags green She fell for everything She even fell for him and that's the moment when He knew that he had won He could finally have his fun

It happened in a flash No time to take it back Had one thing on his mind Reaching the finish line One hand around her throat The other down her clothes She pressed her lips to his neck So he wouldn't get upset

She's a quick learner He's a great leader His plan was working To use but not keep her He gave a rose her very first thorn Tangled in blankets that once kept her warm

What was exciting Now just feels helpless How could she let herself be so reckless The thing she'd protected all the way up till then now belongs to a boy she'll never see again

She gave in and lost herself because of it She took the blame for all of it How could she blame him it's just who he is Good intentions a lot can change in 5 minutes Cause that's really all the time he needs and now he'll always have a piece of me

There's a girl I knew Innocent and true She no longer exists But I can tell you this The girl that I see now In the mirror looks so proud Cause she put herself through hell But found forgiveness in herself
