🔥 The Heart Pyre continuously leaves me with the perfect impression of being in middle school reading under my desk. It’s so good it feels like I’m getting away with something. Maybe it’s because Rena is such a relatable protagonist. She’s just a normal girl! She’s just a little teen! What is she supposed to do! And that makes her even more heroic. As always, the choice this week was impossible and I can’t wait to see how it shakes out. Also, Logan And Finn Should Kiss 2k24. @theheartpyre

🗡️ SIDEQUESTING 😭 This episode is so SWEET. I love when Rion grows a little—Sidequesting is episodic and doesn’t lend itself to like, substantial character development. That is fine; it’s not the point of the show. It makes the moments Rion does grow, though, stand out like little jewels. This episode shone. @sidequestingpod

🗝️ Palimpsest is doing its slow burn thing, referencing itself over again as its name suggests it will do, and in this story, I am Very Concerned About That Man Lenore Married. He is condescending and dismissive and he is isolating her, and I DO NOT TRUST HIM.

📼 Within the Wires—oh my gosh, I literally screamed when the canned noises stopped. What is your game, Tony? What do you want with Brian?

🅿️ Podcube was short this week—Podcube is always short—but this episode had me cracking up at work. I love that this team manages to find new conflicts somehow. Man vs man, but they’re assassins and one of them is convinced the other is in love with the target. Why does this work? Why is this so funny? Please listen to Podcube. @podcube

🩸 Hemophobia continues to make my skin crawl. This episode reveals that the characters are Church of Christ, which, for those who don’t know, means they have a really specific set of beliefs about baptism that I KNOW are going to be perfect fodder for the Horrors. And yet it’s all so normal so far. Creepy. Oh, another thing this episode does is portray with perfect gut-wrenching clarity how strange and awful it us to be a devout teenager, and in like, four different ways. Incredible work.

🎣 Eeler’s Choice has some FANTASTIC sound design this episode as Ran comes into their own as a storm chanter—FRICK. I am worried about them. And their new ship. Please be careful and don’t get eaten by fungus. @eelerschoice

✨ Stories from Ylelmore is brand new and SO GOOD, oh my gosh, I am in love with the earnest delivery, the characters who are absolute BABIES, the genuine fascinating mystery. I can’t wait for more. @storiesfromylelmore

🍔 Midnight Burger’s THREE HOUR FINALE brought us home with Clementine. It wasn’t what I expected, and I think that’s kind of Midnight Burger’s MO. The fact that the tone of the dialogue, that the characters themselves, are so cynical and hard—it will trick you into believing that it’s a cynical show. Maybe it is! But it also fights over and over again for the idea that things can be fixed, that love matters, that you can save people and you have to try, you always have to try. And sometimes you win. And that’s how the universe is meant to work. It kills me every time. Also, shoutout to Alan Burgon, always the best, who I love to hear doing his actual accent. @midnightburgr

🐦‍⬛ Leaving Corvat. Oh my word. It’s a wellness cult. Sleeper’s in a wellness cult. I am really pleased with the development his character’s showing, being decisive and brave.

🍵 Gastronaut is going some places and I am OBSESSED. The relationship between Oscar and Polity is everything to me, and the fact that Oscar has gotten to the point where he refuses to ignore his responsibilities, he refuses to leave people behind—he is sometimes stupid, but he is trying and I’m proud of him.

🧟‍♂️ We are getting to the final episode of Precious Cargo in the Dead and y’all….it’s gonna get juicy. I’m not exaggerating, one of the zombie actors used watermelon to get things sounding juuuuust right. Our next story might be even better, too, I can’t wait to show you.

So you head over to Sugarfish.  One of the best sushi places.  You order the Bay Scallops and water.  You liked water and drank it a lot.  Waiting for your order, you pull out your phone.  You notice there is an email from Austin.

Your flight was called to board.  You board, shaking a bit.  You could do this for Butler.  He did this for you.  You found your seat. It was a window seat.  You made yourself comfortable.  You had a book you could read.  You reach for it and settle in for the flight.  As you start reading, a young woman and her baby girl sit in the seat next to yours.  Babies on planes would have annoyed you, but this baby was quick.  “How old is she?” you ask the mother.

“Oh, she just turned six months,” she answers you.  “Oh, she is precious.” You say.  “Thank you. She looks like her dad.” replying.  You smile.  The baby reminds you of a conversation you had with Austin:

“If you were to have kids, how many would you have?” He asked. “Gosh, I haven’t given it a thought.  Maybe two or three, but I don’t know. What brought this on?” smirking,  you questioned.”  “I don’t know, I always thought that I would have at least two, but three would be ok.” “Butler?  Why are you asking?”  “I want to have kids, I am thirty-one now, and I am ready to be a dad, you know?”  “I get it. I want to be a mom. I am ready to be a mom.”

The plane landed, and you breathed a sigh of relief.  Although, you had to admit this flight wasn’t as bad as some.  You patiently waited for the mother and the cute little girl.  The mother thanked you for your kindness and wished you well on your vacation. Then, you got your carry-on and waited for the people to leave.  A lovely man let you go before him.  You were getting anxious.  You walked off the ramp expecting to see Austin, but instead, you got a guy named James.  "Hi, I'm James, Austin's assistant," He offered his hand.  "My dad's name was James. I guess you know my name?" You ask, shaking his hand.  "I will take you to the hotel, and Austin will meet you there later."  "Sounds good,"  you say.

After getting your bag, you and James get a taxi.  "I have never been in a New York taxi before,” you tell him with excitement in your voice.  He smiles and replies, “He told me you rarely take vacations and that you like the name James because of your dad.”  “He’s completely right.”

Your taxi pulls into the J.W. Marriott Essex.  James helps with your bag.  You walk into what looks like a 1920’s castle.  There is gold everywhere.  The elevators have detailed ornate on them.  Gold plates.  Chandeliers made of crystal.  The floor was white and creamed, checkered with gold flecks and marble lines around them.  This was all overwhelming, but James was there to help.  You take the elevator to the fortieth floor.  James opens the door for you, “If there is anything you need, I am just down the hall.”  With that, he leaves you alone in this big apartment called a suite.  The bedroom has a bed that is twice the size of yours, with a massive TV on the wall.  The dresser is the same length of the wall.  In the bathroom are an oversized tub and a standing shower that is made for two people. The living room, kitchen, and dining table are in the other room.  There is a fireplace with two white couches facing each other.  It felt unreal, but you were in awe.  

You were sitting on one of the couches with your laptop open. Reading a manuscript for another author you were interested in. Then the door to the hotel clicked open. “Where is she?’ Austin asks in a rich, husky voice.  Walking into the vast room, he smiles, “There she is.  The love of my life.”  Looking up from your work, “Hi.”  You stand up, and he comes over, grabs your face, and kisses you.  “I have missed this so much,” He says.  “Austin, it’s only been a few days,” responding to him. He pulls you away from him, “It’s Butler to you.  I know, but it has felt like a lifetime.”  You smirk, shaking your head, “Buuttler, I missed you too.”  “I need to have you in my arms and in my bed,” his eyes narrowed as he talked.   

You start to kiss again, and it gets hot and heavy.  He lifts you and carries you to the bedroom.  He continues to kiss you.  Throwing you on the bed makes you giggle, “I want you to move in with me,” he announces between kissing you and taking off his coat and shirt.  You widen your eyes, “Aren’t we moving a little too fast?”  “I don’t think we are. There is something about this that I need,” he explains, pointing to both of you.  He continues, “It’s almost a necessity, like I need food, water, shelter, air even.  I can’t be without.”  “ You’re right, Butler. I feel the same way, and I struggle to concentrate when you are gone.  It’s like my body is missing a limb. So, the answer is yes,” declaring you take off your shirt.

Lying in bed, your head is resting on his chest, and your leg is draped over his legs.  Austin’s arm is tucked under his head for support, while the other is wrapped around your shoulder, slowly caressing it.  This has become the routine.  You both lay there soaking in each other's presence.  In silence, you come down from your high.  Austin is the first to speak, “I got you a ticket for Saturday’s show.”  “Thank you.  I have only been to New York once, which was not good.”  “Why wasn’t it good?”  “I was in high school, and it was more about the history and blah blah blah.”  He chuckles so hard both of his perfect dimples come out.  “It was,” laughing back. “I just find you sexy and cute at the same time.” You roll your eyes, “Whatever, Butler.”

Newt is adorable and reminds me a lot of myself, though he is much braver with bigger animals than I am. I'd wet myself 😭

Teddy the Niffler - he’s adorable, I'd give him all my gold

Tonks — she is so cool, my favourite of the newer members of the Order of Phoenix.

Bellatrix - she is the crazy, rich, cool aunt that tells you everything about life, is completely shameless (love it) and takes you skydiving or sth crazy. She's very clever and a very powerful witch. Idk why the fandom thinks all there is to her is just her obsession with Voldy (even that can be great, but there is more to her) — I ship her with her husband, the Lestrange brother (I always forget which is which 🤣)

and therein lies the issue, friends don't try to trick you, get you in the phone and mind twist youuuu!! These two are such reputation vibes and I love it so much 😍 I actually love that song as well, but I don't think many other people do.

Full disclosure, I would have put money on Eddie bringing in the big guns and asking Nancy to bring her back. But its Steve! And he didn't even ask! And it needed to be Steve. This was a great choice. He started the whole thing, it's right that he came full circle with them as well. And then him straight away offering himself as the bad guy and telling her to just fix it, he's so precious.

I like that she doesn't immediately spill every detail to Steve, and even when she does say something, it's not the ins and outs, she keeps their time mostly between them and it's so important. because their entire time knowing eachother has had their group in the background and they need some time of their own that's private. Just like their (hopefully) eventual relationship will be 😊

Him explaining that he had no expectations with his confession, starts getting a bit dramatic in his own head again, and then she's so blunt just shutting him up 🤣 it's gonna be their whole dynamic. And again with the chapstick comment, she's a menace just as much as him. Love it.

And then, yea it's great they're being all smart and sensible and mature and taking some time apart and yepyepyep but the hopeless romantic in me did wonder if she'd go back in, even just for a minute. but then the image of them both batterd and sat staring at the open door, like the end of an action film at the edge of the blast zone or something, that was epic. Scene of the crime. Yellow tape. Do not cross. The works. He's either gonna want to move like yesterday or stay there forever and I can't decide which. Amazing 🖤

Can't wait for Steve's interaction with them face to face, can just see him coming in all Captain America thinking he fully saved the day from his phone call convincing her to go back, and them both just chasing him down the stairs 🤣

i am so glad someone else thought of that song!!! when i wrote that line i took a quick break just to sigh deeply because i really can’t escape her 😭 and they are very reputation coded!! since starting i’ve always firmly believed they were very speak now coded in the beginning, and slowly became more reputation coded as their story continued lol (can you imagine a non swiftie reading this like ???? what???) i also very much love that song. it’s so fun and the lines about toasting her friends, baby, and mama are so satisfying to me.

i definitely almost had eddie call nancy first to be completely be honest. but, just between you and me, i think eddie reached out the way he did very strategically. he knew she was upset, dealing with a lot, and he also knew she’s in the groupchat. calling nancy risks jonathan finding out, which risks everyone finding out. he knows that reader is closest with steve, that steve was always going to be the one coming to pick her up at the end, so he called him for her benefit.

and also between you and me, eddie is feeling the same way as reader. he doesn’t want to give up that privacy quite yet. if he called nancy, she’d complete her best friend duties of asking for details, making sure he was okay, etc. and he isn’t okay but he doesn’t want to explain why.

and oh gosh, i’m really glad someone else saw the cinematic vibes of that moment because i was worried people would be like “why are those idiots not going back in” 😭 they’re on neutral ground there, and yes, that apartment is definitely tainted to eddie now, but he’s definitely leaning more towards never moving. especially when it’s not all quite ruined yet. if reader had left and it had all been on bad terms? oh yeah he would have wrecked that place.

and… yeah, steve better watch his back. he gets his karma next hour. (already wrote the scene. poor dude learned his lesson.)

You know those “their kids ask why you call them daddy” scenarios, well imagine if in the lock universe they had a daughter (let’s say like 3-4) and it’s breakfast time so when eren comes downstairs from his slumber while the boys are in the living room (playing x box or something) d/n runs up to him “daddy!” she squeals holding up her arms as a signal to hold her, and dad!eren smiles picking her up and kissing her chubby cheeks, then d/n asks rather blankly “daddy is mommy your baby too?” and eren says grinning to the point his dimples are showing. “of course, she’s been my baby before you were” and gives you a semi hungry loving gaze when you turn around, satisfied with his answer; and it’s just a sweet warm moment (not counting caspein gagging in the background trying not to vomit at his parents sudden affection) and then she says in the most innocent way possible “ohh so that’s why mommy calls you daddy at night~” and giggles as a sign of relief finally having an answer to her curiosity when she woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare debating to either go to her elder brothers room (probably ezria’s) or yours seeking comfort, then finally decided on heading to your room and was about to knock but kept hearing faint chanting of your voice saying the words “daddy faster” confused, decided just to go back to her room *end of flashback* and you and eren just look at each other then look at the couch knowing that’s where your children most liking over heard there sisters all but innocent comment. watching ezria choking on his coke trying to catch his breath controller long forgotten, caspain getting up and yelling in a cracky voice looking in your direction “WHAT THE FUCK DAD WERE NOT DOING THIS AGAIN” then sped past them running out of the house crying having flashbacks on how his precious little sister was conceived *cue dramatic classical music* and aran just giving up hope on not hearing/witnessing his parents sex life anymore and not even reacting just sitting their continuing to read his book (secretly dying on the inside)

immediately, ezra chokes and sputters out his chosen beverage because it went down the wrong pipe. he feels the strongest urge to take his baby sister away from their father and hug her, begging her to forget anything that she heard for many nights now. still in shock, he doesn't notice that caspian paused the game and stands up from the couch. "really?! not the kinks again! thank God i stopped calling you," caspian points at a very red eren jaeger, "daddy when i was in fourth grade!" you try to calm him down but he's still talking about how that certain memory traumatized him to this day. aran, bless his soul, stops reading to rub the bridge of his nose before turning to his younger brother, promising him a tall glass of ice cream sundae if he shuts his mouth. that does the trick. ezra, who finally puts a stop on his trance, stands up and walks to his father. with a blank stare, he gently takes little eileen to his arms and murmurs, "remind us to do some soundproofing in your room as our next birthday gift to you, dad."
