you know it's funny how aziraphale's first ever move on crowley was to sultry propose he "does something for him in return" while they were driving in his car after the church explosion and that's even before they went on a silly flirty date that ended with drinking red wine, but the FUNNIEST knee-slapping thing out of it all is that 25 years later aziraphale is the one to say that crowley is going too fast for him.

I’VE FINISHED EPISODE ONE OF GOOD OMENS HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS
God being voiced by a woman is just *chef kiss*
The CGI is SHIT and GLORIOUS
Aziraphale and Crowley’s first scene together made me scream
When I heard that bit of Bohemian Rhapsody and my soul left my body
David Tennant’s fucking walk
Michael’s whole performance kept me alive, he’s so pure
People be saying that Crowley’s a top but I can’t look past the fucking walk
An F in the chat for Sister Teresa
The whole drunk scene
Crowley has a nice singing voice
They’re idiots. Aziraphale and Crowley are literally the stupidest beings in creation, they’re so dumb-
Adam’s Naming and the moment afterwards was like weirdly tender and cheesy and I think it worked well and also the Them are PERFECT
The way Anthony J. Crowley fucking walks
Anthony J. Crowley is a good liar but a dumbass
Aziraphale is tender but also a dumbass
I hate them both
The fucking walk

good omens show spoilers ahead
OKAY SO I KNOW EVERYONE IS ALL EXCITED ABOUT THE WAY AZIRAPHALE LOOKS AT CROWLEY BUT
Crowley is wrapped around Aziraphale’s little finger? Like holy shit?
He pretends to be annoyed and put out about it, but he will do whatever Aziraphale asks of him (and more that Aziraphale can’t bring himself to ask it seems like).
Helping Shakespeare, saving Aziraphale in France, saving Aziraphale *and* his books in WW2, blowing the paint off his coat, and literally stopping time to buy them a few seconds to plan even though Satan is bearing down upon them all because Aziraphale threatened to stop talking to him.
And the way he does these things, you know it’s just...how he is with Aziraphale. You know these things happen often - Crowley grumbling or rolling his eyes as he does something nice for the angel, because while Crowley wants Aziraphale to be happy, he can’t stand the thought of Aziraphale knowing that Crowley wants him to be happy.
Like Tennant said - he loves him, and he hates that he loves him, because he’s infuriating, he’s ridiculous, he’s an angel, and yet he’s...he’s everything that Crowley seems to need. Aziraphale once said that Crowley went too fast for him, but Aziraphale is always there when Crowley needs to slow down, needs to breathe (so to speak).
They were meant to be divided from one another, separate, opposites, enemies, even, but over the millennia that backfires, spectacularly and completely, until the demon Crowley finds himself on his knees in a burning bookshop, screaming for the angel Aziraphale.
And then he goes and gets shitfaced because he thinks Aziraphale is dead and he can’t cope with it

Do you guys have that feeling of fluttering butterflies when Crowley told Azirphale that he'll miracle Hamlet to be popular, and Azirphale has these twinkling, shining eyes with his smile so sincere saying, "Oh really?" so shyly as if he's embarrassed and surprised that Crowley would actually do it even if deep down in Aziraphale, he knows Crowley will actually do it no matter what? Yeah, I have A T O N OF FLUTTERING BUTTERFLIES THAT I WANT TO PUNCH THE WALL WITH BECAUSE I CAN'T HANDLE THIS BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP OF THEIRS

Every Queen Song in Good Omens but it’s Florence and the Machine
@queerdove, @crowleyraejepsen, @gaydolin, @anthonycrowley, @basilhallward, @damienhirstsdiamondskull, @aziraphalesbian, @angels-dining-at-the-ritz, and @mysterioussinkhole have ALL done these with other bands, so I figured I should do one really fast before anyone else did it with Florence and the Machine
Bohemian Rhapsody (Crowley’s entrance): Dog Days Are Over (the dog days are over, the dog days are done, can you hear the horses, cause here they come)
These Are the Days of Our Lives (Crowley and Aziraphale driving): Too Much Is Never Enough (who decides from where up high, I couldn’t say, I need more time, grant that I can stay the night, or one more day inside this life, too much too much too much too much too much, never enough)
Bicycle Race (Crowley hits Anathema’s bike): Which Witch (I actually totally gave up on this one but I thought the title was funny here)
You’re My Best Friend (Crowley arrives at the burning bookshop): Hunger (you and all your vibrant youth, how could anything bad ever happen to you, you make a fool of death with your beauty, and for a moment I forget to worry)
Somebody to Love (Crowley leaving the burning bookshop): The End of Love (I’ve always been in love with you, could you tell it from the moment that I met you?)
Another One Bites the Dust (Crowley stuck in traffic): Lover to Lover (there’s no salvation for me now, no space among the clouds, and I feel I’m heading down, but that’s alright, that’s alright, THAT’S ALRIGHT)
I’m In Love With My Car (Crowley driving through the ring of fire): Leave My Body (I’m gonna be released from behind these lines, and I don’t care whether I live or die)
We Will Rock You (Crowley’s airbase entrance): Mother (mother, make me, make me a bird of prey, so I can rise above this, let it fall away, mother, make me, make me a song so sweet, heaven trembles, fallen at my feet)
Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon (Crowley and Aziraphale at the park): All This And Heaven Too (and I would give all this and heaven too, I would give it all if only for a moment)
BONUS: A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square / No Choir

the thing is like. i feel like aziriphale’s reasons for doing what he did are much better then crowley’s reasons for doing what he did however aziriphale returning to heaven is in fact the wrong thing to do and crowley saying let’s run away is ALSO the wrong thing to do but also much better then. lets go to heaven.
like his intentions are very good and his desire to use the position to do good and not Good is a great thing! but also that’s simply not possible in heaven it’s just not. and i think he knows that on some level but he has a hard time acknowledging it and the metatron showing up and acting, like, human, and saying nice things and bringing him a coffee all allow him to scab that knowledge over in his mind and believe the lie
and on the other hand crowley says we don’t need heaven or hell is 100% right! you only need humanity- but he forgot that part. his instinct to run away is bad! you still have to help people!!! and i mean i think again, he knows that, but hes scared and angry or whatever + doesnt want aziriphale to leave. so like hes doing the right thing (not going to heaven) for the wrong reasons (lets run away) and aziriphales doing the wrong thing (going to heaven) for the right reasons (we have to help people). and also vice verse. idk where im going with this ummmm. aziriphale comeback tour when

Ramble Time:
Thinking a bit more about it, I would say the biggest issue I have with the miniseries is how the focus on and changes to the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale takes away not just from other characters (often some that had more screentime in the SCRIPT) but also from themselves.
The utter co-dependency they have on the show borders on, if not nosedives into, being very unhealthy.
In the book they are their own people.
On the show? When their book personalities shine through, they are at their best. But the other times?
Book!Crowley wants to stop the Apocalypse cause he likes earth, first and foremost, with Az being a factor that adds a great bonus.
Show!Crowley... seems to only stop the Apocalypse because of Az... which, as said, can get creepy.
Az is only in on the plan in either version when his own personal entertainment/interests are threatened.
Further I can’t name any personality trait for Show!Crowley that doesn’t connect back to Az. Whereas Az on the show has nothing that would connect back to Crowley.
So, TL;DR
The show’s focusing on the relationship between Az and Crowley, and the changes made to their personalities and that of other characters, takes away a lot from story and character, and could even be read as abusive.
A bit more book personality, dynamics and scenes for each character on its own would have done this well.

i know this isn’t even slightly new but i literally cannot stop thinking about aziraphale shielding crowley from the rain with his wing. i can’t stop thinking about it. he didn’t even cover himself. he literally only covered crowley. it wasn’t a polite gesture, it wasn’t “i’m doing this for me, but you’re here too so i’ll do this for you, since it’s convenient.” it was a deliberate statement, “we just met but i already feel connected to you, and the rain is new, and i can tell that you’re scared and confused, about the rain and everything else, and so am i, come closer and i’ll protect you from this, the one thing i can control.”
