baby, would i still be your lover?
fluff with angst, 1k words, gn!reader celebrates their bday bc it's my bday today, reader likes pearls, childhood friends to lovers (?), ooc!al-haitham, conflict and resolving it, al-haitham's grandmother is featured.
Tumblr media
The best way to describe yours and al-Haitham's friendship is... unusual.
Having known him since childhood, you cannot say that he has changed much over the years. When your parents brought him to his grandmother's house to hopefully give the young boy a chance to socialise with something other than academic journals, befriending him was not easy.
He dodged all conversation you tried to make, ignored all attempts you made to play tag with him, completely evaded your childlike innocence. He always was more mature than everyone else his age, or rather, always acted like it.
Most unusually, he had an uncanny streak of pushing everyone out of his life, and you were not immune to the imaginary lashes he strikes, eventually removing yourself from his life too out of frustration.
At seventeen, when an unforeseen tension had lodged itself between you and al-Haitham, it deteriorated your friendship. One day, he had taken his opinions too far and sharpened his words too much, you left the House of Daena tearful and too wounded to see him for a while. It creates a distance between you two, one that lasts for three years.
At twenty, you visit al-Haitham's grandmother for the last time, and she makes you promise something. She pleads you to take care of her grandson, that for years, he has been hoping for the rekindling of your friendship, and she asks of you to make his wish come to fruition.
You reach out to him a month later on impulse. He invites you to dinner and drinks at Lambad's Tavern, and for the preceding week, it mentally drains you to think about being alone with him again.
He is already there when you arrive, sitting with crossed legs and arms at an empty booth. Showing up later than him gives you time to admire how he has grown. Now freshly turned twenty-one, time has served him well. He has grown into his sharp, taut features, and the way his grey hair falls accommodates his features well, and his build is impressive for a scholar. You've heard from others that he's graduated with the highest honours, and has already been offered a job at the Akademiya.
When the conversation begins, you're relieved to find out that nothing has changed from when you were both seventeen and fumbling teenagers.
As the only person who has stayed in his life since his youth, there is a bond that somehow cannot be severed. You apologise for what happened at seventeen, he does too.
As dinner passes, one thing becomes abundantly clear: al-Haitham does not need someone to 'take care of him' like his grandmother asked. What he did need, however, was his childhood friend that always knew how to push his buttons, and perhaps that was your way of 'caring' for him.
"Y/n." al-Haitham's broad figure looms over your desk, causing you to pause the scribble of words and numbers that you were in the midst of writing. "With your birthday coming in less than a month, I went to review our personal channel for gifts you'd like."
"Have you now?" You rest your chin on your hand, looking up at him through your lashes.
He completely ignores your question. "A sango pearl necklace? From Watatsumi Island? Is that your only desire?"
"I am easy to please," you shrug.
"Perhaps you misunderstand me. Is there no other gift that you'd appreciate?"
"Is a pearl necklace not possible?"
"One from Fontaine would be more achievable. Watatsumi Island, however, given our geographical distance and the fact that Inazuma is only just beginning to open up its transnational-"
"-So it's not possible? Even for the Grand Sage?"
"Acting Grand Sage, and whilst it is not impossible, I came to review with you possible alternatives for gift ideas that would provide the same marginal benefit."
"I suppose I could think of something else," you tap your chin. "One day I'll get my hands on those pearls, do you see the way they shine so clearly? You could use them just to fix your makeup! Cold to the touch and a clearer reflection are what make pearls high quality."
"How fascinating," he responds flatly and you pout. "In other news, it's lunch time now, and you promised you'd pay for my next meal at Lambad's."
You huff, compiling your papers together and clipping them together. "I was hoping you'd forget."
(As always, when the meal is said and done, he doesn't actually allow you to pay.)
A month later, when the clock strikes midnight on the day of your birthday, there is a series of knocks at your door. Unsurprisingly, you're greeted by al-Haitham's handsome face, now softer without the makeup he wears to enhance his features, but still beautiful nonetheless.
In his hands, he holds a gift.
"Happy birthday, Y/n." He declares, straight to the point, and hands you the box. "I hope it is to your liking."
The unassuming packaging only adds to your shocked delight when you see the contents inside.
"Sango pearls, from Watatsumi Island! You got me a necklace and bracelet set!" You squeal in pure excitement, treating the jewellery like fragile little things when you feel them. Cold to the touch, and you can see your reflection in them.
Pride shines in his eyes and a small smile pulls at his lips. He doesn't say anything except watch you freak out, satisfied with the hoops he had to jump through for this present.
"al-Haitham, I am so happy I could kiss you."
"I'd be happy to oblige."
The best way to describe yours and al-Haitham's relationship is unusual. You would do anything to get on his last nerve (without overstepping), and he would do anything for you.

About the thing where darling's descended from a close friend of Maleficent, imagine if darling's ancestor befriended Maleficent when she was still a princess and darling looked exactly like her ancestor in her younger days. Maleficent would definitely teach darling to be a strong, amazing woman like her ancestor (I'd say that she inherited her ancestor's magic, she hid it in NRC though). Malleus is done for, grandma's personally teaching HIS darling now.
Tumblr media
I'd say these didn't age 100% well with the story, but we're reviving the Maleficent's friend!Darling!! Thank you for chatting with me about it ♥
»»———————— ♡ ————————««
I think Malleus would honestly grow so pissed at his own grandma as he has to idly watch her take all of your precious time while being so focused on you she doesn't even help him with the nobles. She is not the one who should stand by your side as you are introduced at the ball. He should have been the one who showed you off and strengthened your bond with Briar Valley. While Maleficent is boasting about you, Malleus still has to fight off eager nobles who want him to take their children as his partner or at least concubine.
He really wanted to enjoy the night with you, though.
Even though he is well aware of what his grandma is doing—boasting your own confidence while being in the scrutinizing eye of every noble of Briar Valley—he is very miffed that you are so far away from him, almost unreachable, transcendent. As if he can't reach you while he puts on a fake smile and uses short, dismissive rejection on the next nobles of his beloved home. He's been asked to dance by so many people but not you, it makes him feel dizzy from anger.
Would you be concerned if he collapsed? Should he use some orchestrated weakness to gain your attention, your worry, and your affection? It might be worth it to lose some of his high standing in front of the nobles if it brought you back to his side, your beautiful eyes stricken with worry and grief about his condition. Your hands are on his body instead of the countless hand kisses that have been offered to you that night. Yes, yes, his grandmother was doing a good job weaving your fate back into Briar Valley after centuries of your bloodline being lost to another world. Still, Malleus cannot help but be selfish when he desires you so much. His eyes are constantly on you, barely forced away to greet another unimportant noble approaching him. There is so much longing and want in his eyes that he is very hard to approach despite having to maintain the facade.
Maleficient definitely notices his staring, the wistful puppy eyes of her grandson, but she does it for him, too. After all, to be able to marry off a non-fae (even without your knowledge) to someone as important as Malleus, she needs to gather all the approval she can get. It's not easy when you are respected while also being a grandma to an obviously lovesick fool of a grandson.
So she constantly, albeit very subtly, corrects your posture by poking you, make you use your fan as she has taught you, clears her throat when you laugh too loudly or speak too quietly. She is constantly nitpicking every one of your mannerisms, only satisfied when the nobles walk away nodding and approving of your presence at court. She does it all night long while feeling the daggers Malleus glares into her back. But she does it for you two.
And before the night ends, she asks the orchestra to play a few gentle songs before leading you away from the crowd. You are exhausted and sweaty, but Maleficient has to make a statement, and seeing her grandson light up as he realizes it's finally his turn with you makes all the training and hard work worth it.
Malleus is by your side in an instant, asking you for the dance. You are exhausted, but a last clearing of Maleficient's throat reminds you to do as you are told. She announces the last dance of the night, and although all eyes are on you and the heir of Briar Valley, quite a few people join in as if to show you their support.
You may be uncomfortable after going through such a long evening of being nitpicked at and forced to behave like someone you aren't. But Malleus makes it easy to follow his steps, always keeping a soft smile on his lips even when you step on his foot. You are so relieved when the song finally runs out, knowing you can finally go to bed, but as you two bow to each other, you are surprised to find Malleus clinging to you. He turns you to say goodnight to his grandma before pulling you out of the ballroom before anyone else, picking you up once you reach the hallway so he can walk even faster and fly away to get to his room more easily.
Because for the rest of the night, you are all his.

Honestly the one thing I wish HOTD hadn't done above all else (and I wish they hadn't done a lot) are the multiple times jumps in season 1.
I wish we had kept the younger actors and the story going after Rhaenyra's wedding until at least episode 8 or 9 of the first season. Rather then jumping 10 years and then 6 years the show could have built up what was to come and shown characters and stories that were missed. They could have done many, many things to fill in the time to build up the later plotlines. Have the writers show us how inevitable the Dance would be without skipping ahead.
Show us Rhaenyra's reaction to Criston becoming Alicent's sworn shield. Show us Aemond and Daeron's births (or at least Alicent's wedding to the king well before rhat). Show us how Daemon and Laena were wed and him killing her original betrothed.
Show us Rhaenyra facing the whispers of the court as she and Laenor remain childless. Show us Rhaenyra deciding to go to Dragonstone with her husband, her retinue, and Harwin Strong (who in the book is her sworn shield). Show us how Rhaenyra sees traces of Daemon all over Dragonstone as well as her learning to rule and manage a castle. Show us Rhaenyra and Laenor discussing how they will have kids and scenes with her and Harwin. Show us her first pregnancy as she thinks about Aemma's many pregnancies, especially the last one.
Show us Jace's birth and the court coming to celebrate on Dragonstone. Show us Daemon's reaction to such an event even as Laena announces she is pregnant. Show us the first seeds of the bastard rumors as Rhaenyra and Laenor claim Jace has inherited the Baratheon looks from his grandmother Rhaenys, a defense that is quickly destroyed later on with two more sons bearing the traits of Harwin Strong rather than Laenor Velaryon. Show us the king acknowledging his grandson in a way he never does his own sons.
Show us Aegon bonding with Sunfyre. The deep bond between them and Alicent's worry about dragons and her continued rejection of the "queer customs" of the Targaryens until Otto forces her to realize that these are weapons to help Aegon when he becomes king. Show us Helaena bonding with Dreamfyre and more of her dragon dreams. Show how Aemond remains dragonless as all his other siblings bond with dragons. Then turn and show how indifferent, potentially even hostile, Rhaenyra is towards her younger half siblings, particularly the boys who have a claim to the throne as the whole court whispers.
Show us Rhaenyra's return to court with her gaining a seat on the Small Council and how much Laenor hates it in Kings Landing. Show Viserys announcing that his grandsons will all take lessons with his sons and Alicent's reaction to that and then Daeron being sent away to Oldtown. Show how Aegon grows up under the pressure of being the unnamed heir and unloved son. Show us the wedding between Aegon and Helaena. Show the plotting of Otto behind the scenes rather than just telling us the Small Council has been plotting for years.
Just show the audience something.
The season can end on a time jump to show the older actors and can even continue as it did from Joffrey's birth. The parallels from Jace's own would be quite interesting as it would show how Rhaenyra has faced what her mother called their battlefield before. Then let the season end with Rhaenyra going back to Dragonstone as more than the girl she was the first time. Let season 2 start with the funeral at Driftmark and show the actual aftermath of that event. Then show us Daemon and Rhaenyra's wedding and the aftermath of that with Viserys enraged and telling both of them not to come to court until he sends for them. Corlys can be shown once more going to war in the Stepstones instead of facing his grief as Rhaenys waits on Driftmark where she decides to foster Baela but ignores Rhaenyra's children. Show the twins and Maelor as a parallel to Rhaenyra's young children and how the Greens are a family just as much as the Blacks. Give us Helaena and Aegon interacting and how Aemond tries to be everything an heir should be even when he's a second son. Viserys' failing health can be shown as well as Otto's own time presiding over the court and tasting the power of the king, the thing he has spent years desperate for. Then jump to the succession of Driftmark crisis and Rhaenyra's return to court. Show more of Jace and Luke's struggles with their heritage as their younger half brothers inherit the Valyrian traits that highlight their own different features.
Give us more scenes of Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena among the court and interacting with the Blacks. There could even be a few scenes of Daeron mixed throughout the season though they'd less important, but still season 2 could build a base for who every Green child is as they build up to war. Give equal time to both sides of the war to come.
Let season 2 be built on these added scenes and plots from season 1 to truly show how the Dance was inevitable. This will then in turn fuel season 3 where the Dance truly hits as characters and dragons begin to die in this conflict. The deaths will hit harder and actually haunt the narrative the way they should because they've been given depth and built up in the previous seasons.
The show could have done so much to add depth to each of the characters and each of the different plots, but it didn't. The time jumps of season 1, in my opinion, weakened the story and left us with fairly shallow characters. There were so many things that could have added to the show and sowed the seeds of the Dance, but we saw none of it.

warnings: almost losing a baby but thats it
Anon you have no idea how excieted i was to write this! like your brain is so massive for this im so serious. I hope you enjoy it.
It was no secret to anyone with eyes. Neteyam had eyes only for you. Much to his parents' Distaste. He had tried to reason with them that they had chosen each other. Why couldn’t he?
But it was the will of Eywa they would often say. Guiding them to a future where things were right. It would be Ku’kuri who would be by his side, they would constantly say. And while Neteyam found her nice to talk too. Great at making him laugh. She would stray her love somewhere else. She was just as much roped into it as he was.
Oftentimes covering for him when he wanted to come see You. You who were by far the most caring Na’vi he knew.
You had no ‘talent’ as his parents and grandmother put. Not a healer, Not the best warrior. But he got to see you. You were skilled in the art of making bows. Yes, not the greatest of skills. But he got to see how much love and dedication you put into etching and carving the wood into something mighty for those who came to you asking.
Not many people did ask, But when they did he watched as you got to know them. Talk to them while you were carving out the bow. Etching and putting their words, Their souls, their way of talking into the bow.
And there you were. Carving a new stroke into your own bow. Hunting wasn’t something you did often. More so for the fact that your mother brought in plenty.
“oel ngati kameie” He greeted you, as you followed his lead.
“oel ngati kameie, Neteyam” You smiled, putting down your bow and looking at him. It was no secret to you two that you had been mated for quite some time now. No one else knew. And Neteyam had thanked Eywa for ever being so kind as to allow such a bond.
He would play his part. He would until he would tell the entire world how you were his and he was yours. He would play it well.
“I have something to tell you Nete” you gingerly spoke. Avoiding eye contact as your cheeks let out the faintest of hue’s. It was like that day you had chosen each other. Finally ready to be together until your ends.
“What is it Yawnetu?” he asked, laying his head on yours. Watching as your expression changed. Smiling so brightly down at him.
Swearing he felt as if every star in the universe was smiling down at him.
“My dear I know your parents dont approve of me because of my lack of skills. And I may not be the best Tsahik option. But you have made me the happiest these last few months of our mating bond. And happier as you stood by me for so many years”
It felt like his heart was soaring up in the sky where he would often fly to get away from everyone but only think of you.
“And i hope to bring you happiness with the news I bear” you said, grabbing his hand. Kissing it before guiding it towards your naval. Your smile shining far brighter with a glow that only seemed to affect Neteyam  as he looked into your eyes for an answer
“My love?”
“I bear a child my dearest heart”
Neteyam was always a calm man. Always one to contain his excitement, or his displeasure if something ever so bothered him. It took a little longer for the words to process, Perhaps because he didn’t see it coming.
But once he did he gently rubbed your stomach. Making you let out the softest of giggles as you watched his expression brighten.
“You are with child?”
“ I am”
He couldn’t contain it. His laugh and his spirit as he picked you up and tossed you around him. Both of your laughs were so loud in the forest that it was no doubt someone ought to hear it.
Luckily no one had.
“How far along are you love?”
“Guessing by the only time we ever been intimate. four months my love”
Neteyam smiled. Kissing you as he held on so tightly. “I am happy my dear”
You smiled laughing with him as he went ahead and looked at your naval. “My little warrior”
“What are you two doing”
Startled. You two looked to your right. Neteyams family was by no means harsh or rude. But they were intimidating, As was his mother.
Her powerful eyes boring into the two of you, as Jake stood beside her. It all seem to stop. The terror and the excitement. But Neteyam could only smile.
Perhaps this was the push he wanted. Perhaps this was what was needed for his parents to finally except this relationship. So holding onto your hand and smiling gently at you he nodded.
“Y/n here is with child” Neteyam announced. Puffing out his chest. He was by no means a prideful man. But announcing you always showing you off always you, it was pride that filled his heart to call you his own. “My child”
“What?” Both his parents asked. Now frantic as they stood in front of them. Mirroring them.
Your ears dropped, Scared. Afraid and feeling so cold, A shiver ran up your spine as you stared at both parents glaring daggers.
“We have mated before Eywa many months ago. I would have told you but you always talk about Ku’kuri and-”
“Neteyam, You have disobeyed the will of Eywa.” His mother yelled  before turning to you.
“You cannot have decided on someone who offered herself to you”
“Mother!”
“Your mother is right. Son I understand loving someone but we must do things we don’t want sometimes”  Jake spoke rubbing his temples as he always had done when he was highly stressed.
Your grip on his hand tightened. Tears formed as you could only bow your head in shame.
“And you! You knew he was promised. You knew we said no. And you disobeyed rules from The Olo’eyktan!” Neytiri shouted at you.
You began to sob. Neytiri was always someone to look up to. Someone of legends just as Toruk Makto and it hurt so much to have such will and such shame cast on you “I am sorry!”
“You better be! Neteyam you are to go home and never speak to her again! I’ll ask Sa’nok how on pandora we can break this bond!”
“You Can not!  That is My child!”
“We will Take the child if it caused you less trouble, to cause!” Neytiri said. Ever the mother she was was her scorn much worse.
Jake held onto Neteyam dragging him away as he continued to argue. Beg and pray that they never lay a hand on you.
You could only choke out the sobs as you watched him be dragged away.
“You are to never come in contact with him again, Understood?”
You merely nodded. Feeling the stress and the pain of it all begin to burn you. Your heart aching with a pain you couldnt understand
“Good, stay away from my sons. And maybe i’ll be merciful on you”
You nodded. Watching as she too left.
No longer being able to hear. It felt like your whole world has killed you. Walking back home was only second nature. Walking felt like many thorns were being pushed into your legs and thighs. You felt hot and cold at the same time. Your heart was beating so fast and before you could mutter a word out to greet Ku’kuri who was right in front of you. All you could see was the world fade around you.
And ever the beat of the great mother calmed your every being.
Tumblr media
“I cannot believe you neteyam!”
“ Let me see her! That’s my mate!”
“Neteyam you have done everything we asked for until now! How could you do this?” Jake asked, pushing Neteyam back into their hut.
“You have always chosen everything for me! Why cant i have this?”
“Because it was not blessed!” Neytiri spoke now looking down on her son.
When had he grown? she wondered.
“ I dont care about anything you say anymore! Just let me be happy. All my life i’ve been stuck doing and saying everything you want me to! And if being the next Olo’eyktan is preventing this happiness fine i dont care! I dont want it anyways Just please let me see her. That’s my Mate that is my child!”
Before anyone else could speak Tuk barged in. “Kiri! Where’s kiri!” She asked frantically.
“Tuk? What’s the matter?”
“I’m here”
“Grandmother needs help! Ku’kuri brought Y/n To grandmother! She’s in bad Shape come on”
Now as much as they wanted to ignore it They couldn’t Neytiri followed her children As had Neteyam who could only function on autopilot. Where had it all gone wrong he wonders.
He stared in horror, frozen in a state of shock as he watched the women in his family help you.
He was ever so thankful that Ku’kuri had a hand to his shoulder. Keeping him grounded in the moment for he would be lost in thought.
Watching as your body convulsed and burned. Only coming out of his haze as he heard his Grandmother speak
“Eywa do not let her lose this child”
His eyes began to water, tears falling onto his hand. Ever so grateful for the friend Ku’kuri was.
The horrors he watched. He could only pray hard. Pray so hard till his lips bled and till his eyes got tired that Eywa would ever be so kind to not let anything happen to you and the babe.
It was silent, Far to quiet when you came too. You felt the rag on your forehead and your body was sore. It seemed you had done a lot of strenuous movement. Turning to your left you saw Ku’kuri who was wetting a rag before seeing you. She smiled.
You didn’t know how kind she was, Neteyam had always told you of how she would always cover for you. But finally being able to witness it first hand made you so grateful to see her face instead of Neteyam’s family.
“She’s awake” She muttered Moving your used rag and replacing it with a cold one.
You felt his hand before you saw him. His eyes were full of worry, full of sadness and pain. But you managed to make out something in them you had never seen before. Anger
“Ma Y/n”
“Neteyam” you mustered out gently. Feeling yourself begin to cry. He laid his forehead to yours. His tears rolled down your temple as you two cried together. His hand squeezing yours and you could feel his heavy sobs.
Nearly losing you two was the most heartbreak he could take. It was all he would take. He whipped his eyes looking at the other person in the little hut.
“Yes?”
“I’m taking my family away from here. Please in about a couple minutes or so. I want you to head out and in that time. I will be taking y/n away from here”
“What?”
“Where will you be going?”
Neteyams lips pressed together as he looked at you. So tired and so frail.
“I dont know yet. I’m sorry you were dragged into this”
“Never be sorry for this. This is not something to be sorry for”
She nodded. Smiling at you and squeezing your hand  before heading out “i’ll buy you some time. I wish to see you someday Neteyam, As well as you Y/n. i do hope you two are happy and well wherever you go”
Neteyam watched her go. Quickly helping you stand before offering you a piggyback ride.
You couldn’t believe what was happening. You couldn't imagine this would have happened. Only wishing you could live a simple life. Happy with him.
Tumblr media
The horn sounded. And like clockwork the Metkayina gathered to where the Ikrans have landed. Forest people weren’t uncommon. Oftentimes only ever showing up when news had to travel.
Neteyam bowed his head. Extending his hands to his sides as a form of surrender. Tail wrapped around your waist as he kept you behind him. Your shawl covered you as you looked at the sand. Ever more so upset and afraid.
“oel ngati kameie” Neteyam greeted the Olo’eyktan as he returned the greeting back.
You had never felt so small until this moment.
“oel ngati kameie, To you as well”
“I am Neteyam. I am Toruk Maktos’ firstborn” He began grabbing your shoulder as he pressed you to his side.
Your eyes looked up. Meeting the gaze of the Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik. Behind them are two young Metkayina. No doubt their children.
“I seek Uturu if you so may allow it”
There was a hushed whisper around them. Murmurs as the two looked at each other before turning to you two again.
“Has something happened to your clan?” The Tsahik asked
“No. We are safe, I seek Uturu for my family. I do not wish to say what’s happened. But my mate here Is with a child. And is no longer safe at home. We understand if you don’t allow it.” Neteyam bowed his head. His hand resting on your stomach before looking at them for an answer.
The tsahik came to you two. Analyzing you, Weak arms and tails. But she saw your pain, your exhaustion and how done you looked. “Your arms are thin. Your tail is weak. You will be weak in the water”
“We are willing to learn”
She looked at him. Sorrow follows those doomed to never follow their hearts.
“You will learn our ways, follow are rules and no longer be Omaticaya. Do you understand?”
“I do. I just wish to keep my mate and child safe”
“ I am Ronal. I accept you If Tonowari accepts as well”
She was harsh when needed. Cruel when she wanted. But kind to those who needed guidance.  She was kind, a mother would do anything to keep her kids safe. And she was happy to see it happen, though she wished to wipe away that pain from the two of you.
“Neteyam has sought Uturu. Treat him and his mate as our brother and sister. For they are weak. Let them know our way as if they are babies taking their first breath. Let them not know the shame of being useless”
You bowed your head. As did Neteyam.
“Tsireya my daughter will show you where you can stay, Ao’nung and her will teach you our ways”
Tumblr media
“Tsu’ru” You gently spoke. Handing over your newborn son to Ronal to clean him off. Neteyam just outside the Marui. Two excruciating hours, two hours in labor. No doubt the whole village was waiting for any news of their newest member in their clan.
You had always imagined your first born would be held by your mother. Your family around you. And in some way that is what was happening. Ronal had taken you in as a mother and you were so grateful for that.
The first few months were the most unbearable pain you could have gone through. Tsireya and Ronal had been a good support, aside Neteyam. You were grateful for it too. Keeping you going keeping you healthy.
You were so grateful to for the support Tonowari and Ao’nung provided for Neteyam. You were ever more grateful for the family sticking by you.
In the time you had lived here. A year exactly you had made the most of life. Having found family in the Olo’eyktan’s family. Have made friends and you would not be more thankful.
Neteyam half joked that being friends with Rotxo was like preparing for a baby. And now you were kinda thankful he was right. No fear came to your heart. You were no longer afraid of having and raising a child.
You saw Ronal smile. Seeing your son give her a gummy smile.
“Come. Let us show our people the fine warrior you have given birth too”
You nodded. Standing up as you followed her. Holding Neteyam’s hand once you saw him. His eyes full of love and tears as well as he could only see his son being moved to Tonowari’s arms.
“Eywa has blessed this clan with a fine warrior!”
Cheers. Laughter and the warm feeling of pride as you saw Tsu’ru be handed to his father.
He looked so much like him and you were ever so much more in love.
Supporting his head and his bottom he rose him above to the sun. A tradition kept back home and it made you let out the softest laugh as you watched your babe be bathed by the rays of the sun.
“Tsu’ru” He claimed proudly.
And the clan chanted his name. Tonight would be a moment of celebration.
Rotxo and Ao’nung coming to Neteyam’s side as they congratulated Neteyam for his son.
Tsireya handing you a cup for you to drink. Stating how proud of you she was too.
But your happiness would be unfortunately cut short.
The sounds of horns signaling someone’s arrival. Neteyam holding his son close to his chest and you behind him.
You followed behind him. Behind all of them as you watched how everyone surrounded the newcomers.
Ikrans
Familiar to Neteyam.
“You two stay behind us” Ao’nung suggested as he and Rotxo went ahead of the crowd.
Neteyam didn't even bother to hide. His gaze was deadly. Angry with something you had never seen in so long.
“Neteyam?”
“Let us go back to our Marui love. No business being here”
You rose a brow. Worried at his expression as you just followed orders.
Whatever it was. It was not good and you knew it.
You knew that even if he acted as if everything was okay. It wasn’t  and you knew as much.
Your Pod was filled with something stale. He was on high Alert and you knew it. You saw it in the way that he kept looking at the entrance of the pod. You gently set Tsu’ru down in the basket before finally asking what was wrong.
“Neteyam! Your family is here!” Rotxo announced as he came into your shared pod.
Now the same panic you felt so long ago was back. It was as if you were getting scolded again.
“Ma Neteyam?”
“Dont be scared. I wont let them ever yell at you again” He spoke gently resting his forehead on yours.
You took in this moment with him. At ease with the world and happy again
“Not like they could do anything. I wont let them” Ao’nung announced. You were glad you had this support system.
Hearing your babe begin to cry you could only sigh and went ahead to see what was the matter.
Tumblr media
“Neteyam?” it was all you heard. You had Tsu’ru in your arms. His arms dangling as he tried to reach you. You looked past him and saw his parents. You wondered where his siblings were.
“y/n?”
You quietly hissed, tucking your baby into you and hiding behind him again. The newborn smell and your hormones are still driving you. Neteyams arm extended as he pushed you behind him. His Tattoos were so nice to look at if it weren't for the fact that his family was distracting you.
“We don’t want anything to do with you. My family and i were passing along” Neteyam stated.
You had been on your way to have dinner with the olo’eyktan and had only stopped to admire your kid’s happy giggle.
You could have sworn you heard Neteyam growl. His tail wrapping around you.
“Neteyam! My son”
You saw Neytiri try to reach you. But  stopped Neteyam take out his hunting knife and keep it out in front of him. Letting out a warning hiss.
“Do not- Stay there. Stay away from My family”
“Kid-”
“No. You dont get to threaten my mate and risk my child and act as if it is all fine” neteyam spoke. Bringing the attention of Ronal and Tonowari .
“Son.. We’re sorry. I am sorry for ever pushing you away. I made mistakes and im sorry for not thinking of your happiness too” Neytiri apologized.
Jake standing beside her. Looking at the two of you before turning to you.
“ I am sorry too. We got to choose who to be with. And im sorry for not letting you have that too”
You felt Ronal hold your shoulders as she looked at the other adults.
“My children. Are Jakesully and his mate bothering you dears?”
You turned to look at her and then Neteyam.
He continued to look at his parents. Their eyes full of sorrow and guilt yet. But he couldn’t forget the feeling of almost losing you two. How you convulsed and stopped reacting as he could do nothing but watch.
He wanted to forgive that sin. Wanted to say it was alright and that he was okay. But your lives were almost lost. He almost lost you two. And that was something that was hard to forgive.
“ No, Tsahik please take Y/n and Tsu’ru inside i just want to have a few words with.. Toruk Makto and his mate”
Ronal nodded Leading the way. You watched the way he looked tense. But you had to bite back your tongue
Neteyam watched you go. Before turning his glare towards his parents.
“I can be around my siblings and i will allow them to know of my son. But i dont want to know you.You may grovel and beg for forgiveness but i wont forgive you”
“Neteyam please”
“ Im not done speaking”
His gaze soften as he could only think of you two “ I have a wonderful family. I am happy how i am and it is up to her to forgive you. But i wont! Because you nearly caused my babe to die. And Eywa may forgive you and she may too. You may ask her what you have to do to make it up to her and my son! But i dont want you near my family. I dont want to see you. I want you to beg”
He no longer was the perfect son that they had raised. Now his eyes full of hurt and anger looked at them. The past coming back to haunt them.
“ I want you to beg, i want you to grovel, i want you to suffer and to always know that i wont forgive you so easily. You are not allowed around my Family alone or at all. Lo’ak, Kiri and Tuk may but not you two. For you wont know my scorn until you are near them understood?”
Neytiri nodded as had jake. She could only fight back tears
“Get out of my face. I don’t want be near you”
Neteyam watched them go.
He could never forgive what they had done. What they could have caused. He would let you decide it. You two were his world and if you didnt want anything to do with his parents. He wouldn’t either.

I need to see it immediately.
Where is Susan, our grandmother, and we are her grandson/granddaughter
Give this woman love!!! 💗💗
What sweet nonsense is where the reader spends time with his grandmother
Good evening my dear! I am SO GLAD Y'ALL WANT SUSAN CONTENT LIKE I DO, I ADORE Susan, I think this counts as a drabble? Anyways I added a sprinkle of angst, definitely differs from my Susan & child/nibling reader headcanons but we're not gonna talk about that, anyways I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Grandma Susan
Warnings!
Cannibalism, and Susan
Down in Cannibal town lived a pair of a cranky old lady and her grandchild,
Her old lady babysitting may or may not have been picked up off the streets grandchild,
You see your grandmama Susan was a MENACE TO SOCIETY, to be fair she earned it, she went through life in the 1800's but that's not an excuse for her smacking people she didn't like with her cane, or cursing them out,
the majority of the cannibal town residents were excused, as they were a tight knit community and Susan was, somehow, respected
only a few unlucky cannibalistic souls were smacked harshly with the cane.
You were dubbed the Susan handler at some point by Rosie so whenever Susan was Susan-ing you were called to calm down your dearest grandmama, it did come with the risk of getting gently smacked with the cane but you didn't particularly mind it, the most you said to do was calm her down and offer to get her some tea and pray that she would quit cursing at random overlords and the princess of hell.
But caring for your elderly grandmama wasn't all chaos and fearing for her life, you did have bonding moments, such as now, your grandmother much like many old people liked knitting, mainly because she could stab someone with the needles if needed, you on the other hand preferred crochet. [Spreading my crochet propaganda]
It was days like this you adored, acidic rain pouring outside, the radio playing some type of classical music, you sat cozily in the couch listening to your meemaw Susan ramble on about kids these days and how back in her day they were more respectful or whatever, or maybe drop lore about how she was involved in supporting woman's rights movements from the shadows, maybe how when she was alive she did this or that while she knitted a throw pillow,
You'd get her nagging at you about how you should hurry up and get hitched, although she didn't approve of anyone for her dear grandchild, secretly afraid of the day you would finally grow up and move away from her, leaving her alone, sure she had the cannibals but they weren't her beloved grandchild,
She'd never tell you that though, but you knew, after all you were closest to her, and frankly you weren't planning on leaving her anytime soon, even if you did you wouldn't go far.
Or the days where you'd cook together bonding over her teaching you how to make cannibal meat loaf, or you grilling a sinner thigh during the summertime outside, with Susan under an umbrella going on about something.
Specifically winter holidays of gifting your Nana Susan something you made like a blanket or something you saved up for like a parasol,
She'd make a comment about it but would use it all the time, after all actions speak louder the words,
She'd give you something expensive that you mentioned in passing about liking, waving off your excitement by saying she got it last minute like it hadn't been hidden in her woredrob for the past two months.
Birthdays with her were bittersweet, they were a sign that you had survived another year in this hell, that you both were growing older and older, how long it had it been since you were alive? You'd bake her favorite cake, pick up pinkie fingers, and get her something nice,
She'd order a cake for you, cursing at the poor employee to make it perfect for her grandchild, she'd buy you a set of pearls or some type of jewelry.
You'd sit down Infront of her rocking chair and place a brush in her hands asking her to brush your hair, no matter the length {unless your bald then I guess she's brushing your scalp? With a soft brush}
You curled into her arms, it was after the extermination, Many Cannibals were lost, friends you had known for ages gone just like that, she couldn't say anything, no snappy comment, no words of comfort, she could only watch as you sobbed into her, the only thing she could do was pat your back until you were smoothed to sleep.
You woke up the next day with warm soup on the stove and a blanket on you with Susan snoozing away on her old wooden rocking chair.
Actions speak far louder then words.
Your grandmother was cranky, grumpy, had zero fear towards death, she cursed like a sailor and she had a soft spot for you,
And you wouldn't have it any other way.
Tumblr media
SUSAN SUPREMACY, also I switched around calling her Nana and Meemaw Susan because she wouldn't have just the classic grandma Susan,
Anyways I got one more Susan request and part two of Eldritch horror reader coming up so tune on in for that! Have a wonderful evening everyone!

It's midnight in my area; I don't know about yours. If it is, then do try to get some rest and see to this request at your leisure and convenience. :3
==================================
A headcanon where the reader is Queen Victoria's grandson (which would actually make him a prince) who decides to visit Ciel to get to know the "Queen's guard dog."
And from there the relationship would change from formal act between royal and noble to a genuine friendship. (Maybe give Soma a small part in there since they'd have one thing in common.)
You're so sweet🙏 it was around midnight for me too when I started this but I picked it back up later so it might be a little sloppy💀😭 and thank you so very much for the request❤
I will say this felt a little detailed for headcanons so I struggled but I hope you enjoy it❤
Tumblr media
° Ciel wasn't sure what to make of you at first, there might've been a hint of annoyance when the Queen mentioned she had a grandson that would be visiting him
° he though it was some sort of test, perhaps you were visiting to make sure he didn't do anything Her Majesty didn't approve of.
° naturally, he played his part perfectly and made sure everything went smoothly when you visited, well as smoothly as possible with the servants running around. Sebastian did make your stay most pleasant though.
° He didn't really like having someone be his age but higher status than him, Ciel really got tired of being some formal and bowing to show respect but he continued to do so while your relationship was so new and strictly formal.
° the more you crossed paths, the less formal the meetings became. You'd simply address each other with proper titles and no longer bowed, besides a slight head nod.
° Ciel will start to show more of his true colors, you'll catch him being far more snappy towards Sebastian than he previously was, though Ciel is still cautious, he has no idea what you might tell your grandmother about.
° he does find your company pleasant at times, though when you visited at the same time as Prince Soma, Ciel wanted to lock himself in his room. Soma liked you very much, you two bonded over your similar lives and royalty while Ciel sat through it all with a forced smile at all the noise.
° as time goes on and the two of you become friends more than acquaintances, he'll no longer hide his true self (to an extent) from you, you'll be able to see him be more snappy, get all flustered when Sebastian babies him, etc.
° obviously he still keeps Sebastian being a demon and the contract from you but he doesn't really let anyone know. Ciel will spoil you a bit more too, to even out the fact he teases you now too😋 expect lots of playful banter and insults thrown your way, as well as the most delicious food you've ever had

Random Hades Game Headcanons
Zagreus gives the best hugs. He's tall, naturally really warm, and the right amount of muscle where he's soft but also strong. Plus he's just so comforting to be around <3
Cerberus has a little black spot on his tummy (i say little it's about the size of a hand print) and that's how he got his name (which means spotted)
Thanatos is trans and has top surgery scars under his cloak
Persephone actually used to party with Dionysus when she was younger and lived on Olympus (partially to numb the pain and to rebel against her mother)
Demeter (when she finds out about Zagreus being her Grandson and later Melinoe) spoils them rotten. Pinching cheeks and giving cash and cookies. The embodiment of a shitty mother but an awesome grandmother
Hypnos is actually really close with his sister Nemesis, she affectionately gives him noogies when nobody is looking (has to keep up her badass image)
Zagreus is a lightweight and can barely handle a glass or two of nectar and you'll typically get either that you'll get Flirty/Party animal Zag or Completely zoned out and rambling incoherently Zag. On rare days tho you get Traumadumping and Sobbing Zag.
Hermes has betting polls running at Olympian parties Zag will be at to see which one until Thanatos catches on and glares at Hermes to stop while he carries his boyfriend home
Every time he sees Zagreus and Persephone (and later on Melinoe) happy together, Hades can't help but feel guilty about how terribly he treated (and fucked up) his only son (as he should)
Odysseus gave up Elysium to stay with Penelope in Asphodel
All the rest of these are about the Red Shade who cheers on Zagreus in Elysium (i love them so much)
The "Supportive Shade" (as the wiki called them) is Iphigenia (the girl who was sacrificed to start the Trojan War) and she's just a bisexual teenage girl with issues who loves gladiatorial warfare (totally not because it's a healthy way to let out her issues).
She also comes down to Tartarus once a week to beat the shit outta her father because fuck Agamemnon
She also befriends and starts dating Cassandra bc I said so.
Ends up being adopted by Achilles and Patroclus (which is a little awkward at first since she almost married Achilles) but they bond over their hatred of Agamemnon
He ends up teaching her how to fight and she occasionally tries to spar with Zagreus

"Bravo, Vhalarr!" Aemond exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine admiration. "You're a natural with the sword. Your form is perfect."
Vhalarr beamed under his grandfather's praise, as Aemond knelt down beside him. With a gentle touch, he adjusted Vhalarr's grip on the wooden sword, offering his guidance with a smile.
"Let me show you a few moves, Vhalarr," Aemond said, his tone gentle yet authoritative. With practiced ease, he demonstrated a series of basic techniques, each executed with precision and grace.
Vhalarr watched intently, absorbing every detail with wide-eyed fascination. His grandfather's words were like pearls of wisdom, precious and invaluable.
"Now, try it yourself, Vhalarr," Aemond encouraged, stepping back to give the young prince space to practice. And practice he did, with unwavering determination, his movements mirroring those of his grandfather.
After a few attempts, Vhalarr managed to replicate the moves, a happy grin spreading across his little face. Aemond's heart swelled with pride at the sight of his grandson's progress, a testament to the boy's natural talent.
With a sense of warmth and affection, Aemond scooped Vhalarr into his arms, lifting him high above the ground. The young prince giggled with delight, his arms wrapping tightly around his grandfather's neck as he nestled into the comforting embrace.
Soon Vhalarr smiled when spotted his grandmother, babbling eagerly as he called out to her.
"Gandma! Gandma!" Vhalarr babbled excitedly, his words tumbling forth in an enthusiastic rush. "I been training with gandpa! I a sword fighter!"
Vaelys couldn't help but chuckle at her grandson's exuberance, his enthusiasm infectious and heartwarming. She took him from Aemond and cradled him close.
"Training with your grandfather already, my sweet Vhalarr?" Vaelys replied, her laughter bubbling forth like a gentle melody.
Vhalarr pouted slightly at the gentle teasing, his expression one of earnest determination. "I big, gandma! I do it!"
"He's not wrong, my love," Aemond said, his voice warm with pride as he ruffled Vhalarr's silver hair affectionately.
"I'll be just like Gandpa!"
Aemond's heart swelled with pride at his grandson's proclamation, a smile of affection gracing his lips. "That's my boy," he murmured, his voice brimming with pride. "With dedication and courage, you can achieve anything you set your mind to."
Aemond then turned to his wife, a question dancing in his eyes. "Where is our granddaughter?" he inquired, his tone laced with curiosity.
Vaelys' expression softened as she replied, "Saeryna is in the gardens with Sovia, Jaehaera and Aegon, enjoying the sunshine and the company of her cousins".
Aemond smiled as he remembered the unexpected romance that had blossomed between his niece, Jaehaera, and Vaelys' brother, Aegon. At first, the notion had seemed improbable, even fantastical, yet as time passed, their love had flourished, proving that sometimes the most unlikely matches could yield the deepest bonds.
Reflecting on their union, Aemond couldn't help but marvel at the happiness they had found together. Jaehaera, with her whimsical spirit and fierce determination, had found solace and companionship in Aegon's steadfast presence. And Aegon, with his gentle demeanour and unwavering loyalty, had found in Jaehaera a love that surpassed all expectations.
Their union had been blessed with the arrival of two daughters, Rhaelys and Elaena, who brought light and laughter into their lives.
Helaena loved being a grandmother, her two granddaughters bringing much joy into her life.
As Vaelys began tickling Vhalarr, his laughter suddenly halted by the voice of another young boy, who sneered, "Look, that man has one eye".
For a moment, silence descended upon the courtyard. Aemond, felt a pang of discomfort, accustomed though he was to the stares and whispers that followed him wherever he went.
But before anyone could react, Vhalarr shimmed from his grandmother’s grasp and stepped forward, his small frame brimming with determination. "You shush up!" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with righteous indignation. "My gandpa's brave he rides Vhagar and he’s the King-I'll chop you with my sword-"
A hush fell over the courtyard as Vhalarr's words hung in the air, his boldness drawing the attention of all who stood witness. Aemond looked on, stunned by his grandson's outburst yet unable to hide the swell of pride that welled within him.
Vaelys, too, watched with a mixture of surprise and admiration as her grandson stood up for his grandfather, his courage shining bright despite his tender age.
The other boy's mother, mortified by her son's behaviour, rushed forward to apologize. "I'm so sorry, Your Graces" she said, her voice tinged with embarrassment. "He doesn't know what he's saying. Please forgive him."
Aemond offered a gracious nod in response, his heart touched by Vhalarr's display of loyalty and courage. Though taken aback by his grandson's burst of violence, he couldn't help but feel a swell of pride that the spirit of the dragon ran strong in young Vhalarr's veins.
"No mean-" muttered Vhalarr as he stuck his tongue out at the boy.
"Vhalarr is certainly his father's son," Vaelys remarked with a soft chuckle. "Daevyn always did have a fierce sense of loyalty towards you, seems as though Vhalarr has inherited it”.
Aemond nodded in agreement, a fond smile playing on his lips. "Indeed," he replied, his voice tinged with admiration. "To see such bravery in one so young-it's remarkable.”
Vaelys nodded thoughtfully, her gaze drifting toward the courtyard where Vhalarr was now twirling his wooden sword in his hand the sound of his delighted laughter ringing out like music in the air. "He's growing up so quickly," she mused, a hint of sadness touching her features. "It seems like only yesterday he was just a babe in Sovia's arms."
Aemond placed a reassuring hand on his wife's shoulder, a silent gesture of comfort and solidarity. "He may be young, my love, but he possesses the spirit of a dragon," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "And with that fiery heart, there's no telling what he might accomplish."
Vaelys smiled, her heart warmed by her husband's words. "You're right," she agreed, her tone filled with pride. "Our grandson is destined for great things; of that I have no doubt."
Tumblr media
After taking her usual walk around the Red Keep, nodding her head, and smiling politely at the many lords and ladies who greeted her, Vaelys came to a stop in the gardens watching silently as the sculptors worked diligently on a marble statue, their chisels carving intricate details into the stone.
Vaelys approached with quiet reverence, her heart swelling with emotion at the sight before her. There, in the centre of the garden, stood the figures of her parents, immortalized for all time.
Queen Rhaenyra, with her fierce beauty and indomitable spirit, stood tall and regal, her crown resting atop her head. Beside her stood her consort King Daemon, his features carved with a quiet strength and a hint of mischief in his eyes.
But it was the gesture that touched Vaelys' heart the most. The sculptors had captured her parents standing side by side, their hands clasped together in a gesture of eternal love and devotion.
Vaelys stood before the statue of her parents, her mind drifted back to the day her father, had departed from this world.
She remembered the heaviness in the air, the sombre atmosphere that hung over the Red Keep like a shroud. Her father's health had been failing for months, his heart and spirit broken by the loss of his beloved wife.
Vaelys had stood vigil by her father’s bedside, her heart heavy with sorrow yet filled with a profound sense of duty and love.
The memories of her father's final moments flooded her mind with bittersweet clarity. She recalled the solemnity of his voice, the strength in his gaze even as his body weakened with age and grief.
In those last moments, as Daemon's breath grew shallow and his eyes dimmed with the weight of his sorrow, he had called forth his son-in-law, with a voice that echoed with authority.
"Aemond-Take care of the family. Protect them as a dragon should."
Aemond had knelt by Daemon’s side, his gaze unwavering "I swear it," he had vowed, his voice steady with resolve. "I will defend them with my life”.
Her father’s funeral was a sombre procession through the streets of King's Landing, the air heavy with the weight of grief and loss.
The people of Kings Landing coming out in their droves to bid farewell to the Rogue Prince.
At the heart of the procession had been her father's wrapped body, laid upon a wooden pyre, with one of Rhaenyra’s shawls placed over him.
But it was the moment when Caraxes, her father's loyal dragon, had approached the pyre that had seared itself into Vaelys' memory like a brand upon her soul.
Caraxes had landed beside the pyre, his mournful whimpers lingering on the wind, originally Vermithor was going to have the honour of burning Daemn’s body, but Caraxes had ignited the pyre with a burst of flame.
His ashes were later placed with her mother's in the crypts.
In the wake of her father’s passing, Caraxes had withdrawn to the shadows of the Dragon pit, his once majestic form shrouded in sorrow, his mournful cries echoing through the ancient halls.
For weeks, Caraxes had lingered in solitude, his grief a palpable presence that hung heavy in the air. But then, a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness had occurred.
It was the day that Vhalarr, her grandson, had come into the world. As if sensing the newborn's arrival, Caraxes had descended from the sky with a whistle and a shriek, his blood-red scales gleaming in the sunlight.
Helaena, ever wise and mysterious in her ways, had suggested that Daevyn, bring the newborn prince to Caraxes who had refused point blank to leave the courtyard.
Everyone watched with bated breath as Daevyn approached Caraxes with Vhalarr swaddled in his arms.
Sovia who was still recovering from giving birth had insisted on watched from the balcony of her chambers.
Daevyn unfurled his son from his blanket and held him towards Caraxes who lowered his head with a gentleness that belied his fearsome nature, his low rumbles and purrs igniting a spark between them.
Even more so when Vhalarr reached out and placed his little hand on Caraxes snout, with the dragon accepting him as his new rider, and from that day onwards Caraxes no longer lived in his sorrow and solitude.
The skies often alive with the sounds of his unique song as he flew overhead.
Perhaps it was actually Vhalarr's claim of Caraxes that had contributed to her grandson’s fiery nature, a reflection of the dragon's own fierce spirit.
One she hoped her father would be proud of.
Tumblr media
As the members of the Small Council settled into their seats, the atmosphere in the council chambers grew sombre, the weight of the realm's concerns pressing upon them.
“There are troubling reports coming in from the Stepstones. It seems that the Triarchy is growing restless, and rumours of unrest are spreading like wildfire” said Jace.
Lord Thaddeus Rowan furrowed his brow in concern. "Unrest in the Stepstones could spell trouble for the entire realm," he remarked, his voice tinged with apprehension. "If the Triarchy were to rise up in rebellion, it could destabilize trade routes and threaten the security of our coastal regions."
Isembard Arryn, nodded in agreement. "Indeed," he concurred, his expression grave. "The Stepstones are a vital strategic location for trade and commerce. If they were to fall into chaos, it could have dire consequences for our economy."
"We cannot allow the Triarchy to threaten the peace and stability of the realm. We must take action to quell this uprising before it escalates further,” said Daevyn.
Alysanne Blackwood nodded her head. "I agree" she said, her voice calm yet authoritative. "We must send a strong message to the Triarchy that any attempts to disrupt the peace will be met with swift and decisive action."
Vaelys and Aemond exchanged a meaningful glance, silently communicating their shared resolve to address this threat to the realm's stability.
“While the threat of the Triarchy launching a direct attack on Driftmark may be unlikely, we cannot ignore the potential impact on our trade routes."
Jace leaned forward, his expression grave as he continued, "Driftmark serves as a key hub for maritime trade in the Narrow Sea. Should the Triarchy become bold enough to disrupt trade routes in the region, it could have far-reaching consequences for the economies of the entire realm."
Jace paused, allowing his words to sink in before pressing on, "Other settlements along the coast, such as Storm's End, are also vulnerable to attacks from the Triarchy should they grow bold enough."
His gaze swept across the table, meeting the eyes of each councillor in turn. "We must take pre-emptive measures to safeguard our trade routes and coastal settlements," he urged, his voice firm with determination. "We cannot afford to underestimate the threat posed by the Triarchy"
Vaelys turned to her husband, seeking his counsel on the matter at hand. "What do you recommend, Aemond?" she asked, her voice tinged with a sense of urgency.
Aemond's gaze met hers, his expression grave yet resolute. "My love," he began, his voice carrying the weight of his conviction, "I believe the best defence is a good offense. We have dragons at our disposal-“
He leaned forward, his eye blazing with determination. "-The Triarchy has been a recurring problem for years, disrupting trade and sowing chaos wherever they go," he continued. "It's time they faced the consequences of their actions. We should use our dragons to destroy them once and for all, to ensure that they can never threaten our realm again."
Vaelys considered his words carefully, knowing that the decision they made would have far-reaching implications for the realm. Yet she couldn't deny the logic of Aemond's argument. The Triarchy had proven themselves to be a persistent threat one her father had previously dealt with alongside Lord Corlys, and it was time to put an end to their reign of terror once and for all.
"Very well," she said, her voice firm with resolve. "Let us gather our forces and prepare to strike. The Triarchy will learn that House Targaryen is not to be trifled with."
“I will lead the attack with Vhagar at my side." Said Aemond firmly.
A murmuring of agreement rippled through the room as the councillors nodded in approval. Vhagar, the largest and most formidable of their dragons, was indeed the ideal choice for such a mission.
"I will also accompany you" declared Vaelys, her gaze unwavering.
Aemond's brow furrowed in concern as he turned to face his wife. "No, Vaelys," he said firmly, his tone brooking no argument. "You must remain in King's Landing. Your presence is needed here"
Vaelys' eyes flashed with indignation, her fists clenching at her sides. "And what of my duty to our people?" she demanded; her voice tinged with anger. "What kind of Queen am I, if I'm not willing to risk my life to fight for them?"
Her words hung in the air, a challenge to her husband's decision, a testament to her unwavering resolve.
Aemond sighed heavily, his expression softening with understanding. "You are a brave and noble Queen, my love," he conceded, his voice tinged with regret. "But your place is here, ensuring the safety and well-being of our people. I cannot bear the thought of you risking your life”
Vaelys met his gaze, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "I am not some weak coward to be sheltered away," she insisted, her voice trembling with emotion. "I am a Targaryen, and I will fight alongside my husband to defend our realm."
"Vaelys, please," implored Aemond, "You know the dangers of battle. I cannot bear the thought of anything happening to you."
But Vaelys remained steadfast, her resolve unyielding. "I will not be coddled like some fragile flower," she declared, her voice ringing with defiance. "I am a dragon rider, just like you. The blood of Daemon Targaryen flows through my veins”.
"Your Grace-Aemond, if you insist on leading the attack, then allow me to accompany you with Vermax," offered Jace, his voice filled with sincerity.
But Vaelys shook her head adamantly, her eyes flashing with determination. "No," she said firmly, her voice brooking no argument. "I will not be left behind while my husband faces danger. I will fight alongside Aemond-“
Aemond's heart swelled with pride at his wife's unwavering courage, yet his concern for her safety remained unabated. "Vaelys, please," he pleaded once more, his voice tinged with desperation. "I cannot bear the thought of losing you-“
But Vaelys remained resolute, her eyes blazing with determination. "Aemond, we are stronger together," she insisted, her voice soft yet unwavering. "Let us face this threat side by side, as equals, as partners, as Targaryen’s-I trust Sovia and Daevyn to remain steadfast in Kings Landing during our absence, with Alysanne to guide them”.
With a heavy sigh, Aemond nodded in resignation, knowing that he could not dissuade his determined wife.
“We will keep things in order mother-this I swear” said Sovia firmly as Daevyn nodded.
"At the end of the week, then," Aemond declared, his voice firm with conviction. "We will launch our attack on the Triarchy and put an end to their reign of terror once and for all."
Vaelys nodded in agreement, her eyes gleaming with determination. "We will strike swiftly and decisively," she affirmed, her voice tinged with urgency.
"I will coordinate our naval forces to support the attack from the sea," Jace pledged, his voice steady with resolve. "Together, we will ensure the success of our mission”.
“We will meet tomorrow to discuss the plans more in depth-and send word to the dragon keepers I want the dragons well fed and rested” said Aemond.
“Good, now all of you clear the room-I wish to have a private word with my consort” ordered Vaelys.
The sounds of chairs scraping against the stone, echoed around the room, the council members eyeing each other curiously.
Daeron lingered for a moment before he too shuffled out of the room.
Vaelys waited until the door clicked shut behind him and when she was finally alone with Aemond, her demeanour shifted, her eyes flashing with a fierce intensity.
In one swift motion, she rounded on him, her hand reaching out to grasp his cock and balls in a vice-like grip. Aemond grimaced in pain, caught off guard by her sudden aggression.
"Never again-" Vaelys hissed through clenched teeth, her voice low and dangerous. "-Will you seek to undermine my authority"
Aemond winced, the pain radiating through his body as he struggled to find his voice. "Vaelys, please," he gasped, his words coming out in a strained whisper. "I meant no disrespect."
But Vaelys' grip only tightened, her gaze cold and unyielding. "You will learn to respect my authority," she declared, her voice filled with steel. "You will learn that I am not to be trifled with."
With a final squeeze, she released him, letting him stumble back in pain. Aemond sank back onto his chair, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he struggled to compose himself.
"Remember my love-" Vaelys warned, her voice echoing in the empty room. "-I will not tolerate insubordination from anyone, least of all my own husband."
As Aemond nodded in silent acquiescence, Vaelys turned and strode from the room, leaving him to nurse his aching yet half hard cock.
Tumblr media
Later that night, Aemond hesitantly entered their shared chambers. His footsteps echoed softly against the cool stone floors as he approached the doors leading to their bedchamber.
With a hesitant hand, he pushed open the doors, revealing the warm glow of candlelight flickering within. The sound of water softly lapping against the sides of the tub filled the room, and there, in the centre of it all, was Vaelys, lounging in the bath.
Her eyes met his as he entered, and for a moment, the weight of their earlier altercation hung heavy between them. But then, with a soft sigh, Vaelys motioned for him to approach.
Aemond stepped closer, his movements cautious as he approached the edge of the tub. The hot steam enveloped him, soothing his frayed nerves.
His gaze lingering on her bare breasts, his cock stirring in his breeches.
"Join me," Vaelys said softly, her voice a gentle invitation. "Let us put this day behind us and enjoy the peace of the night together."
Aemond nodded and began to disrobe, the weight of the day's events slowly slipping away with each piece of clothing he shed.
Without a word, Vaelys slid forward in the bath, making room for him behind her. Aemond hesitated for a moment, the water rippling softly around him as he lowered himself into the hot embrace of the bath.
As he settled in behind her, Vaelys leaned back against his chest, letting out a contented sigh as she closed her eyes. Aemond wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close, his touch gentle yet reassuring.
After a moment of comfortable silence, Queen Vaelys shifted slightly in Aemond's embrace, her voice soft with sincerity. "Aemond," she began, her tone gentle yet remorseful, "I owe you an apology."
Aemond's arms tightened around her, a silent gesture of understanding and forgiveness. "Vaelys, there's no need," he started, but she gently interrupted him.
"No, please, let me speak," she insisted, turning slightly to meet his gaze. "I shouldn't have handled the situation earlier the way I did. I was-rash and aggressive"
“Vaelys-“
"I know you meant no disrespect, and I shouldn't have reacted so harshly," she continued, her voice tinged with regret. "You are my husband, my partner, and you deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, even in moments of disagreement."
Aemond's expression softened as he listened to her apology, his heart swelling with love and understanding. "Vaelys, my love," he said gently, pressed a kiss to her neck "There's nothing to forgive. We both said and did things in the heat of the moment that we regret, but what matters is that we move forward, together”.
“A-Aemond-” muttered Vaelys as he began to lather soap on her body.
"Vaelys-“he began, his voice gentle yet earnest, "I owe you an apology as well. I realize now that I was wrong to insist that you stay behind in King's Landing."
“I-I-“ gasped Vaelys her breath hitching in her throat as she felt her husband’s hard cock pressed against her.
"You are not some weakling woman to be sheltered away. You are the Queen, and you are more than capable of facing whatever challenges come your way."
“Aemond-“
“-My wife. My Vaelys-” muttered Aemond as he began peppering kisses on the back of her neck whilst he continued to run his soapy hands all over her body.
“Oooh you-“ moaned Vaelys when she felt her husband’s hand reach further down, his fingers beginning to tease her folds.
“But I need you to understand, Vaelys, that being Queen comes with a level of responsibility that cannot be taken lightly," he explained. "I only wanted to protect you, to ensure that you remain safe and secure while I face the dangers ahead."
His finger’s continuing to tease her, slowly.
"I-I know, Aemond," she replied softly, her voice filled with forgiveness. "And I appreciate your concern for my well-being”
Aemond smiled, his teeth nipping at her neck, as he slipped a finger inside her.
“A-Aemond-Oh-please-“ whimpered Vaelys.
“Hmmm-how I love to hear my Queen beg-“ growled Aemond, his thumb now encircling her pearl.
Vaelys reached back and coiled her hands in her husbands long silver hair, her hips rocking against his hand.
“Issa valzȳrys-issa dārys” (My husband-my King).
“That’s it-“ encouraged Aemond, as he added another finger.
“Please-Aemond” begged Vaelys.
“Come for me issa dāria” whispered Aemond (My Queen).
“Aemond-“ shrieked Vaelys her body going rigid as she peaked.
"I love you more than words can express. You are the light of my life, the beating of my heart” muttered Aemond as he withdrew his hand and pressed his face into his wife’s shoulder.
“A-Aemond” stuttered Vaelys.
“What is it my love-what do you need?” asked Aemond smirking.
Vaelys lifted her hips and reached behind her to take hold of Aemond’s hard cock.
After teasing her husband with a few slow strokes, Vaelys lowered herself onto him.
“You-I need you inside me” whispered Vaelys.
Aemond groaned loudly when Vaelys was fully seated in his lap, his hands grasping his wife’s hips tightly as he began to move.
"I couldn't bear the thought of something happening to you," he admitted, his voice catching with emotion. "The very idea of a world without you in it is unbearable to me."
Vaelys gripped the sides of the bathtub for support as Aemond began thrusting into her. The water splashing over the edge as the force of Aemond’s thrusts increased.
Vaelys' eyes glistened with tears as she listened to his heartfelt words. Aemond continued, his voice trembling with raw emotion. "My heart, my soul, they belong to you," he declared, his love pouring forth like a river overflowing its banks. "Without you, I am nothing. You are my everything, Vaelys”.
Aemond loved fucking Vaelys from behind. She was so perfect. He loved her soft body and would never tire of feeling her wet heat wrapped around him.
“I love you, Aemond-I love you" she whispered, her voice filled with warmth and affection.
Vaelys rocked her hips backwards in time with Aemond’s thrusts. Her loud moans echoed around their bed chambers.
“ñuhon” growled Aemond (Mine).
“A-Aemond. Yes. Yes. H-Husband” whined Vaelys as Aemond shifted slightly and began thrusting deeper inside her.
“I want to stuff my cock deep inside you and never leave” moaned Aemond.
“Aemond. P-Please” cried Vaelys as she felt Aemond sucking on her neck.
“Take it. Take all of me” groaned Aemond.
Vaelys began convulsing around him, making the sweetest noises as Aemond began fucking her harder.
His fingers digging into the flesh of her hips, he was close so close, just a little more-
Aemond held Vaelys tight to him as his cock throbbed, spilling his seed.
“My love. My sweet” exclaimed Aemond as Vaelys sagged against him.
"Looks like we've flooded our chambers-" muttered Vaelys.
"Tomorrows problem I can assure you-right now I just want to take my Queen to bed-" replied Aemond.
"Is once not enough for my insaitable husband?" asked Vaelys gasping as she felt his cock twitching inside her.
"Once is never enough when it comes to you my sweet"

Name: Burt the Ball
Debut: Yoshi’s Crafted World
Today’s post is very special, because we have a very esteemed guest joining us in the audience! Spikey’s very own grandmother is here, having heard so much about our posts, and she is delighted to attend this live post viewing! Everyone, it is my pleasure to introduce Mrs. Spikeworth!
Tumblr media
“Oh, why, thank you, dearies! You’re too kind.”
(Now, just between you and me, I made sure to choose one of the most innocuous enemies I could, from an extremely family-friendly game. We need to make a good first impression! Anyway, on with the post!)
Tumblr media
We all know and love Burt the Bashful, he is such a silly guy! A round guy with a big ol’ nose and funny striped pants. That’s our Burt! The poor guy is shy, though, so let’s give him his space. He is sheepish. Burt the Baaashful!
“Oh ho ho! How droll!”
Thank you, ma’am. Where was I? I wonder if people are tired of big Burts as Yoshi bosses. They sure do appear often! I think it’s good, because they are funny, but maybe there are some no-nonsense Yoshi fans out there who sigh and roll their eyes upon seeing the goofball pictured above. Oh well. Too bad. Yoshi’s Crafted World makes history by having a Burt boss NOT in the first world! And this one is a literal goofball!
Tumblr media
Normally, a boss Burt is a small one enlarged by Kamek’s magic, but this case is a little different! Burt the Ball begins as a fresh, deflated beach ball, and is dropped into these big ol’ pants that were just hanging here. Are these even his? I don’t think we have conclusive evidence! It must be bad enough to be made aggressive against your will, but it’s downright insulting to get put into somebody else’s pants. What if they saw?! So embarrassing!
“My, I do like that the kids still get to see clothespins in their games today. My grandson is always trying to get me to use that new drying machine, but I swear my petticoat shrinks unless it’s dried the old-fashioned way!”
Yes, Mrs. Spikeworth, thank you for the, um, timeless wisdom.
Tumblr media
I think Burt the Ball’s transformation is quite a sight, as we get to see him inflate his appendages one by one, and he is rendered so realistically! Get a load of those seems! I can feel him. I imagine holding his hand. It is so easy and you should imagine it too, and we will all be connected through our bond with him!
Tumblr media
In true Burt fashion, though, he needs to pull his pants up! Silly fellow, but it happens to the best of us. Maybe he needs to buy something to hold those pants up. Burt the Belted would be unstoppable! Anyway, we’ve dwelt on this silly cutscene long enough, let’s let the poor guy get his pants up already!
Tumblr media
Oh! Oh. Oh my. I swear this game is rated E. Can we, um, get that off the screen, please?
“What’s that, dearie? Dreadfully sorry, I’m just wiping off my glasses, I’ll look in a jiffy!”
Nothing, nothing! Just a, bug on the screen. NEXT SLIDE PLEASE
Tumblr media
Here we have Burt the Ball and his adorable little apprentices! These are the Beach Burts, and they are in fact the only “normal” Burts in the game, as Burts only appear in this context! Not only that, these are the first ever Burt Variant. Big win for Burt fans!
Tumblr media
As with all big Burts, the pants recede as he takes damage. Unlike other Burts, though, they for some godforsaken reason decided to actually depict- oh? Oh, it’s not there? Thank goodness. I do wonder where it went, but at least I don’t have to try to explain it now!
“I’m sorry, sweetie, explain what?”
Oh, just that... bug again, it’s, um, an invasive species, a lot to get into, wouldn’t be on-topic.
Anyway, that’s all today, and everyone please give a big hand to our special guest, the lovely Mrs. Spikeworth! We are honored she made the time for us on her way back home to the naturist resort!

I believe Lady Danbury was the true love of Lord Ledger’s life, and he was hers. It seems like she was the woman he wished he could have married but we have no backstory on why he married his wife (yet) and it’s entirely possible that they had an arranged marriage similar to the marriage Lady Danbury had with her husband Herman, which we know from Queen Charlotte, was arranged when Agatha was about a year old.
From what we saw during Queen Charlotte’s season, the parent that Violet was closest to was her father. He was very involved in his daughter’s life and made sure that she was educated and looked after more than what her mother deemed necessary. Lady Ledger often seemed bothered by Violet and uninterested in her education while it was clear that Lord Ledger, who called Violet, “Beauty,” or “Brains,” as his affectionate nicknames for her, wanted his daughter to be a strong, educated, independent, open-minded and well respected woman more like Lady Danbury who he admired & liked greatly even before their relationship became romantic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I believe there was more to the Lord Ledger and Lady Danbury love story and that it’s directly reflected in how close Lady Danbury is to Violet and the Bridgerton family. In many ways, Lady Danbury has inserted herself into Violet’s life like a stepmother of sorts and views the Bridgerton children as her grandchildren and Violet’s grandchildren as her great-grandchildren. It’s why she looks out for them among the ton now that half of Violet’s children are out in society.
Given Lady Danbury‘s closeness with the queen and her position in society as a powerful woman on the side of the newly titled members of society, she’s acutely aware of how complex high society is and how difficult it can be to navigate so it makes sense for her to Look out for Violet and her family the way that she does, especially given her connection to Violet because of her love affair with Violet’s father.
If you recall from Queen Charlotte, there’s a scene where Lady Danbury tells Violet. She is fortunate because she married her great love and she goes to church and lights candles to remember Edmond because that’s how Edmond lives on.
Tumblr media
Lord Ledger was the love of Lady Danbury’s life and he has passed away and is no longer there. Lady Danbury’s way of keeping the memory of her love alive is by looking after his daughter and her children, because they are the remaining pieces of him which is really sad and beautiful at the same time.
And just as an added thought, if you’ve read the books, (which do not include any love story with Lord Ledger and Lady Danbury), you’ll know that Lady Danbury’s grandson & Hyacinth fall in love and marry and when Hyacinth tells Lady D that she’s going to be her grandmother now, Lady Danbury says that in her heart, Hyacinth has always been her granddaughter… this moment between the two may still happen if the show keeps book cannon couples and we get Hyacinth’s love story.
I love the bond Violet and Agatha have & can’t wait to see more.

Bring peace bring broken bonds (2)
Female lo'ak x ash navi + sully family and others
Tumblr media
A daughter had been sent off to another clan in mate ship that will bring peace, during a time of conflict between the clans of Pandora. There had been greedy, lies, and betrayed that had came with the promise of peace. A daughter that had been given away in marriage, had done it for her people and family, didn't know the string of betrayal and heartbreak she was face so quickly. She had been able to grow over the time away, even due she felt she was abandoned she had blossomed into a wonderful women and amazing navi.
Lani " ......."lani life had changed over the many years after she become mates with Amoyi and left the forest she once called home. During this time apart from her family and clan, she had been able get to know her new family and clan well. She had learned when she arrived at her new home, ookek was not the leader of the clan he is the second in command. The one who was in changer of everything is Amoyi mother Varrang. Varrang a strong women and mighty warrior as well. Lani also got to meet the rest of the family she had married into and the clan as well.
Lani “ even due sorrow came to my life happiness had came as well” when lani had arrived to her new home and clan, she had been given a new makeover. New clothes had given to her the symbol her acceptance into the clan, and her new rank in clan as well. She was also given new jewelry as well, over time she no longer wore that much of her clothes that represented her clan and the forest. It had taken her time to adapt the her new home, but it become her natural environment.

amoyi " hey"
Varrag " she is right my son you were like Kenii when you are just a baby"

varrag " they have you join our clan and no one else has come to see you or sent word, that it horrible of them all'
lani " I don't know what has happened in the years but I know I was never my father and momideal daughter, but I thought they will still come see me but it seems like I was wrong ... I don't know about my siblings of grandmother and even my friends"
Varrag " well it their lost as they missed out on see the wonderful women you have become, and great addition to the clan bring honor to us and all the other clans near by"
lani " thank you" lani soon heard the cooing of her son Neha she had looked at the boy, as he is reaching out to her making her smile.
amoyi " it seems like you are love already by everyone here" lani soon took her son from her mates arms and held him close, her mate and his mother are right. She did have a family and clan that love her here, but she still has a special place for her family and old clan in her hearts.
amoyi " whatever happens my love I"m here to protect you and our child, my family and the clan"
lani " I know you will my husband I know you will"
later that night
amoyi " well the boys had finally fallen asleep"
lani " thank you for doing that for me"
amoyi " hey I love spending time with my sons and my beautiful mate"
lani " you are a big flirt are you"
amoyi " hey this stayed with this flirt and had a family with him"
lani " haha very funny you know it hard for me to understand at times, when a serious and fearsome navi like you has a soft spot"
amoyi " only for the ones I know and love" lani soon giggles as amyio and soon brought her closer to him and kissed her forehead.
lani " ......."
amoyi " I'm sorry that your family and clan haven't been around that much"
lani " it okay out of our control"
amoyi " I know but the sky demons are still causing trouble, and you think they will seek out help from us or come to see you to see if you are okay"
lani " I don't know what has happened I wishes I have answers, but I might never get any answers to all these questions"
amoyi " well if they do anything to wrong you and the kids I will make sure they pay"
lani " amoyi"
amoyi " I will be nice until I can't be nice" lani had nodded her head, her and amoyi had stood up a bit longer. Lani had went inside for a bit looked out of her new home, but she took time to look in the directions of her old home. She had changed over the years but even due she was the same young woman, she still longed for the forest and the ones she knew so dear. Lani soon made her way back to the clan, and her home unknown to her knowledge the past was going to come back after so long apart.

omegaverse steddie thoughts to b had
Halloween town AU with soulmate elements
Young witch omega Steve who never knew of Halloween towns existence till his 13th birthday came & he woke up to his bed floating underneath him & his parents had a screaming match that night & his father slams the door behind him as he leaves so Steve runs away to Halloween town tht night by wishing he could b with his beloved but mysterious maternal grandmother Marlene Cravenwell who he only gets to see at Halloween & when he opens his eyes the next morning he's in her house on her couch & she isn't as surprised to see him as he thought but she just waves it away by stating their family has always been stronger than the average witch
She takes Steve out to the market & various shops along the main street of town introducing him the whole time as her grandson & a talented witch, she buys him necessities like clothes, hygiene products, & nesting materials saying she's had a room ready & waiting for him in her house since he was born an omega visibly disappointed Richard Harrington who clearly wanted an alpha or beta child & Annabelle Harrington who never recovered from her postpartum depression
So Steve stays in Halloween town & spends the summer learning the basics about witchcraft from his grandmother & then the summer turns to fall & his mother hasn't contacted Marlene abt her missing son & he doesn't want to go back anyway & so she enrolls her beloved talented grandson in the local school where he's instantly latched onto by werewolf Robin who can smell the potential for their friendship & the 2 quickly become inseparable & grow closer every year not even separating in high school like every1 assumed they would & when she presents as an alpha every1 assumes they'll get together but nah she just becomes his unofficial guard dog against alphas w less than pure intentions bc she can smell their true feelings
Then one night three years after Steve arrived in Halloween town someone new moves into the house across from Steve's window & his grandmother is telling him to stay away from their new neighbors instead of taking him along with her to greet them & the next day a new alpha boy is at school dressed in black with dark sunglasses & an equally dark umbrella the rumors reach Steve's ear before he even has a conversation w the alpha; his name's Eddie Munson, he moved to town literally the night before, & he's a vampire whose ancestors killed a witch
Cut to: they have a class together the next day & the only available seat is next to Steve & Robin doesn't take the class with him & when Eddie sits down oh no he smells amazing & then Eddie is asking him for a pencil & as he passes him the pencil their eyes meet then glow purple & wind sweeps through the classroom even with the windows closed & there's a chorus of gasps as everyone (including the 2 of them) process that they found their soulmate
Cue Steve's first heat being triggered by this event & taking him out of school for a week & Eddie's corresponding rut doing the same & both of them feeling tortured because their soulmate is right there but their guardians have said they can't get involved with each other
Maybe there's an evil warlock they have to defeat, maybe they have to reckon w the past where Eddie's ancestor killed a witch, maybe their families vehemently disapprove
In the end though they end up bonded to each other & Steve graduates with a pregnant belly & months later gives birth to a pup with pointed teeth & a unique diet & witchcraft in their bones

Chapter 21
The next few months brought a hectic change to Khushi's life. As their return to India was delayed, she finally enrolled for her last semester at the University of London. Living in a foreign country was one thing, but attending university with people from different cultures was a completely different experience altogether. Though the experience was terrifying at times, it was also profoundly wholesome.
She also met two of her best friends, whom she would cherish for the rest of her life. They would become her partners in establishing the charitable foundation "Little Happiness" which she would build later in her life from scratch. They would also be the first people, besides Arnav, to read the first draft of her debut book, actually almost every book, she would write in future.
One of them, Nithin Kingsley, "Hamari dost hume pyaar se NK bulate hain"-that's his words, not Khushi's, was someone she met in the neighbourhood actually. NK was Devyani Ji's grandson, the son of her daughter who lived in Spain. NK wanted to visit India, so he came to see his grandmother to refine his Hindi. During his stay, Nani Ji, Khushi, and NK embarked on a hilarious journey to sharpen NK's Hindi skills. Through their amusing and sometimes chaotic attempts, NK and Khushi formed an unlikely friendship that lasted a lifetime.
And the other best friend she met, was in university through the extracurricular society she had reluctantly signed up for to earn extra credits. She chose the literary society, driven by her lifelong aspiration to become a writer. The members were divided into groups of ten, each tasked with staging a play in collaboration with the theatrical society. Her group was assigned the play "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare.
It was during the preparation for the play that she met Lalita Kensington. Lalita was the leader of the team, barking orders at everyone. She appointed Khushi with the duty of setting up the fairy lights on the stage to set up the right mood for the actors. Somehow, unbeknownst to anyone, Khushi got entangled in the fairy lights, which were accidentally switched on. From that moment, the team started calling her "Chamkili" to tease her. One day, when Lalita called her by that name, Khushi stood up to her and said she didn't like being called 'Chamkili'.
That day, after wrapping up their dialogue writing class for the literary society, Lalita offered Khushi a bar of chocolate and a dazzling smile.
"Hello, my name is Lalita Kensington. My friends affectionately call me 'La.' You can call me that too," Lalita said, extending a hand to Khushi. "I am sorry I called you 'Chamkili' earlier."
"It's okay," Khushi chuckled, offering her a friendly smile. "Hi, my name is Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada. People affectionately call me Khushi."
"Wow, you have such a long name. But why did you laugh? Are you making fun of my name?" Lalita asked scrunching her eyebrows.
"No, no. Your name reminded me of my neighbour. He talks like you, actually. His name is Nithin Kingsley, but people affectionately called him NK." They both shared a gleeful laugh.
"Is he cute?"
And that's how their banter began, becoming seemingly unstoppable whenever these two friends got together. They bonded over their shared love for literature and food. And Khushi found a precious friendship she had never expected. So it was very surreal for Khushi when the two best friends of hers met and formed an instant connection.
It was her 20th birthday. Nani Ji and NK had planned a surprise for her. Nani Ji baked a cake and came to visit her in the afternoon. Khushi was so happy. She made jalebis and rabri for her birthday and offered them to Nani Ji and NK. As she was making tea for them, the doorbell rang.
"Khushi ji, chinta mat kijiye. Main dekhta hoon," NK's voice filtered through the kitchen.
As NK opened the door, it felt as though time had slowed down. He came face to face with a girl who made his heart almost stop beating as he stared at her without blinking even once.
"Hello," Lalita said, waving a hand in front of him.
"Hi," he murmured breathlessly.
"Who are you? Where's Khushi?"
"Main Khushi ji ka beiman hu."
"Aap Khushi ka kya hain?" she said, doing a double take.
"Beiman, you know, guest."
"Beiman nahi, mehman hota hain."
"Aap Indian ho?"
"Half-Indian. Meri ma Indian hain, dad British."
"Mera bhi. Actually my mom is half-Indian and dad British."
As Khushi approached the front door, she found NK staring foolishly at her best friend with heart-eyes.
Lalita asked Khushi lowly, "Who's this cartoon?"
"La, this is my neighbour I told you about, remember? La, meet Nithin Kingsley, aka NK."
"Hi, I am NK. Aur aapki takleef?"
"What?" Lalita rolled her eyes and added, "Takleef nahi, tareef hota hai. I am La, I mean Lalita Kensington."
"Aap meri dil ki baat kitni achi tarah se jaanti hain, Lalita ji."
Khushi saw Lalita roll her eyes at him again, but a small smile ghosted her lips as he gazed at her with stars in his eyes. Over the next few weeks, NK talked her head off by alternately talking about Lalita and how much he would miss Khushi when she leaves London next month.
"Lalita ji kitni nice hai na, I mean unka face, unki aankhein, unki baal, unki naazuk haath, sab kuch..sab kuch...kitna... kitna nice hai na.....Aur lalita ji jab bathein karti hain....oh..oh..hoo..wow, ese lagta hain ke jese ki saari duniya geyi jhaar mein."
"Hmm."
"Khushi ji, aap agle mahine chale jayenge, hum aapko bohot miss karenge."
"NK, I'll give you my address. Come visit me when you come to India."
The remaining time before going back to India was spent preparing and saying goodbyes. It was a bittersweet moment for Khushi. As for Arnav, he didn't form any emotional attachment to the city, but Khushi had a feeling that she would miss it somehow. She would always hold dear the moments, good or bad, that she spent in this city. She would miss Devyani Ji, NK, and La. She would always miss the cottage that had seen so many of their moments and had been with them through thick and thin. She would also remember the bitter moments, as those had taught her to be better in life.
"Do you need any help wearing that saree? " Arnav asked from the doorway of their room, with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"NO, absolutely not. don't come near me," Khushi said rapidly shaking her head. "I don't want to be late for this party."
"Come on, let me help. You're obviously struggling over there," Arnav said, moving closer. "See, this part is sticking out." He tugged at a loose part of her saree from her waist, causing the fabric to unravel completely.
"Arnav!!!!!" Khushi whined, stomping her feet.
Arnav raised his hands in a sign of surrender and flopped down on the bed, hugging a pillow.
"Since when did you make so many best friends? Now you want to go to a girl's birthday party you met six months ago instead of spending this Sunday evening with your husband. I thought I was your best friend," he said, sulking a little.
Khushi let go of the saree and carefully draped it over the back of a chair in the corner of their room, and went to him.
"You are my ultimate best friend," she said, kissing his cheek. "And you will come with me too. When I can attend La's birthday again, only God knows."
"No, I don't want to be at a girly party. I'll drop you off and then pick you up," he said broodily. "Don't you have NK to accompany you, by the way?"
"Come on, Arnav, kya aap hamare liye itna bhi nahi kar sakte?" she said, messily kissing him all over his face.
"Gimme some more, then I'll think about it," Arnav mumbled with a faint smile at the corner of his lips.
Khushi started kissing his face with renewed enthusiasm. "Please, Arnav... please... please...please," she punctuated each word with a kiss.
Laughing out loud, Arnav rolled them over, bringing her body beneath his as he captured her lips.
"Don't make me late," Khushi whispered against his lips.
"It's not late Khushi. It's called fashionablely late," he said deepening the kiss.
It was her graduation day. As Khushi stood at the crossroads, where one chapter ended and another began, she looked back at her life and couldn't help but feel a deep swell of pride for the journey that had brought her to this moment. She wasn't supposed to be here-by all accounts, the path that led to this grand hall in London, dressed in her cap and gown, was one she was never meant to walk. Yet here she was, standing among her peers, experiencing the culmination of her dreams in this prestigious graduation ceremony.
As Khushi approached the stage to collect her degree, her eyes instinctively sought out Arnav in the crowd. He was beaming at her, pride shining unmistakably in his eyes, a look that warmed her heart and steadied her nerves. Beside him, NK and La were clapping and cheering loudly, their excitement echoing through the grand hall. Their support wrapped around her like a comforting embrace, filling her with a sense of belonging and accomplishment as she prepared to take the final step in this remarkable journey.
Lavanya paced the length of her dimly lit study, the soft light of the antique lamp casting long shadows on the walls. Her gaze fell upon the framed photographs of her youth scattered on the desk. The faces of her friends, her late mother, and a younger, more carefree Lavanya stared back at her. She sighed, her reflection in the polished wood of the desk a reminder of the person she used to be.
She thought about her mother, who had passed away when she was just twelve. A profound sadness washed over her as she wondered if her mother would be proud of the person she had become-resentful, vindictive, and delusional. The answer, she realized, was no. Her mother would not be proud.
For the past ten years, Lavanya had navigated life largely on her own. Her father's absenteeism had been compensated with expensive gifts and empty promises. He would often say, "Lavanya, you can have anything you want, dear." She grew up believing that she could indeed have everything she desired, and she did. She gained a myriad of material possessions and excelled in academic proficiency, yet there was one thing she couldn't have-HIM.
Her childhood friends, Pam and Sim, often told her, "Lavanya, you are so beautiful. You can have anyone worshipping the ground you walk on." Yet, despite their reassurances and the suitors who pursued her, Lavanya had eyes only for Arnav. He possessed an elusive quality that enchanted her, a quality so captivating that she failed to see she was building a castle in the clouds.
Arnav's words rang true. "It's but a shadow and a thought that you love." He was right. She had convinced herself that she loved him and envisioned a future together, yet she knew so little about him. She did not know about his dreams, his fears, what made him tick and all the things that mattered to him at all, nothing. In her obsession with Arnav, she had turned her own life into a distorted reflection of what she thought love should be. Her fixation had not only clouded her judgment but had also caused pain to someone who had been entirely innocent in this process.
Lavanya gave the driver meticulous directions to her destination. With a deep breath, she stepped out of the car. Her heart pounded with anxiety, as she had no idea how she would react.
As she approached the house, Lavanya saw her through the window, curled up with a book. She drew a deep breath, steadying her shaking hands before knocking, a small bouquet of white tulips clutched nervously in her hand.
Khushi answered after a moment, her eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Lavanya standing on the doorstep. The tension in the air was palpable, but Lavanya offered a tentative smile. "Hi," she began, her voice softer, "I hope I'm not intruding."
Khushi hesitated, then stepped back to allow her inside. "What brings you here?"
"I came to talk," Lavanya said, holding out the tulips with a nervous smile. "I brought these for you. I know it's not much, but I wanted to bring something."
Khushi accepted the flowers with a hesitant hand, unsure of Lavanya's intent. "Thank you."
They settled in the cozy living room, the warm glow of the fireplace contrasting sharply with the chill Lavanya felt. Lavanya kept wriggling her fingers.
"Would you like some tea?" Khushi asked politely. She had no intention to be in her presence longer than absolutely necessary.
"Sure."
As they sipped their tea wordlessly, an awkward silence fell over them.
"I don't know where to begin," Lavanya started, her voice trembling. "I've come to apologize to you....for how I behaved, for the things I said...... I know I've hurt you immensely with my actions." She paused, licking her dry lips, "...and I am truly sorry for that."
Khushi looked at her, dumbfounded, not expecting the apology at all. "I don't know, Mrs. Kashyap," she said slowly. "What do you expect me to say?"
"You don't have to say anything. I'm being selfish here once again actually. I just need to say 'sorry' to you before you go back to India," Lavanya added. "I know you don't need my apology, but I am truly sorry."
"I'll take my leave now," Lavanya said, standing up. "If possible, please forgive me."
Khushi looked at her retreating form with a wistful expression on her face. it felt like drawing an end to a specific chapter of her life.
