Currently reading: Hot Money - Dick Francis, well more like it's the next one on my reading "to do list", it's one of the few Dick Francis books I haven't read yet, so I'm really looking forward to it >:) always up to suffering with Francis' horse plinkos

Current fic: Across The Galaxy by Greencharacters on AO3 because I need all the Kanera fics inserted directly into my bloodstream-

Currently watching: the Ahsoka show! I love it so far no mention of Kanan??? I MEAN, I love all the Spectres popping up 👀 I'm saving my thoughts on it until after it's finished telling its story - in the words of mister Tolkien "We must not be hasty."

Next on my watch list: Mm, likely Loki, I think the new season comes out a week after Ahsoka ends. Also hoping Lego Ninjago's second half of the new season will come out soon, so that's in the cards as well :D otherwise... maybe His Dark Materials. I think there was something new for that as well? But I'll probably have to rewatch the whole thing, I can't remember where I ended up oop.

Current obsession: Kanan Jarrus :) currently trying to continue with my Inquisitor!Kanan AU without feeling guilty about it- also thanks to @vinniehorrible I am now overthinking the possibility of Marrok being Kanan or a clone of his... it's complicated- and I might explore it on my art blog later. I'm forever of the delulu clan.

I am always down to talk about pre-Rebels Kanera fics!

Before I rec fics/authors individually, for people wanting to filter their own options for this era, I go off of the book tag for their meeting, A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller, and then under characters filter out Ezra, Sabine, and Zeb so we get the early days stuff only - filtered list has only 234 fics so it's easy to narrow down if you're looking for specific ratings/tags!

My favorite most prolific authors for specifically this era, listed alphabetically and linking directly to their list of works tagged for A New Dawn:

Greencharacters - writes great slowburn! Longest work is Across the Galaxy (which is also the longest fic in the entire tag), but also has 7 other oneshots ranging from G to E

IKnowWhatToSayNow - has personally written literally 1/3rd of the fics for A New Dawn with 91, amazingly prolific with a bunch of different canon-compliant oneshots plus a huge list of novel-length AUs set in the Star Wars universe with everything from Hera also being a Jedi to Imperials AUs and more. A TON of delightful E fics, with my admittedly biased favorite being the 37k fic she wrote for me for the Smut Wars gift exchange, A Sorta Fairy Tale

Spectre83 - wonderful mix of 15 different chapter fics and oneshots, including the first chapter of a new fic just started for Year of the OTP, Come Undone. Others I adore for longer fics are Stuck in a Moment, a look at the development of their early relationship, and their modern AU Now That I've Found You. Lots of absolutely delicious E-rated fics and some sweet G/T too

I do have 22 works tagged for that era myself (though a couple are podfics for works by authors above), mix of fluff, smut, and a couple longer AUs, Lena Hills on Ao3.
