The 2025 Formula 1 Season is only a few months away, and we're using the next few weeks to break down the basics of the sport.

Today, we're talking about some of the unsung heroes of the sport: all the jobs that have to be done to get a car on track outside of the drivers. We're walking through the basics of mechanics, engineering, strategy, aerodynamics, team principals, sim teams, design teams, and the people back at the factory that make every formula 1 race weekend possible.

While every team does things differently, these are some of the very critical roles you'll find on any team. From race engineers and driver pairs like Lewis Hamilton and Bono or Max and GP, to team principals and CEOs, this is every one you might see on your screen when you tune in to a Formula 1 Grand Prix.
